He was disrespectful. When ever questions were asked, he would not care. He was unwilling to help us when we didn't understand something and most of the hw and lectures didn't follow the book so it was hard to review on our own. He's a good teacher, but does not know how to teach physics without always going back to math. There were alot of problems that he didn't explain, and just expected us to understand, when it wasn't even in the book (though he didn't teach from the book AT ALL). For a conceptual physics class, it was WAAAAY too math based.

Ridiculous. Reviews for test have nothing to do with test. Homework is nearly impossible (PhD in physics in tutoring lab couldn't even help). He isn't always at office hours, which is frustrating as the material is really hard. He doesn't make this any easier, as he is the only Physics professor I've heard of that makes you memorize formulas for every test (and there are a lot of them!). I know it's not usual to give a great rating to a professor, in a class that you're failing, but it's entirely my fault. I did some not so good things lately, but I'm trying to get back on track. The professor pushed me to do my work, send me emails to motivate me, offered to help, but I'm still slacking, he deserves better students than me.

He's a great guy, not a great teacher. So many labs! Give very small feedback. Everything I learned from that class was done outside of class. Barely speaks English, harsh Russian accent. Not sure how he got good ratings in the past, but a great guy. He assigns homework and doesn't even tell the class about it.

Physics is a HARD class no matter who you take it with. Professor Avram is awesome! Lectures are tough but he makes them interesting. Labs are quick and not too difficult but really help the understanding of the material. Exams are LONG and TOUGH but if you put the work in its definitely doable. Returns grades quickly too!

WAY too many labs. He's a tough grader and is clueless about how to teach an online Physics class.

You'll definitely have to put in the time for Professor Avram's class to learn the material and complete the labs up to his standards. Especially during the 5-week sessions, it's a lot of material to learn, but his PowerPoints are pretty consistent with his tests. He can be condescending but is willing to help most of the time if you ask.

I have no idea how this professor has been in our university education system for so long. he has no idea how to teach an online class. he talks for two hours non-stop and if you ask him a question he will answer you rudely or just ignore you. he will not reply to any of your emails. the tests are excessively long. do not take his class.

Prof. Avram is a brilliant professor. I took the 5 week session over the summer and it was probably one of the most difficult classes I've taken in college, yet I probably learned more in that five weeks than I have in some full length semester courses. His instruction sets you up for long term success with future physics courses that you may take.

Does not believe in any type of curve. No clear grading criteria & lack of grading transparency. Grades are only on paper, no way to know your grade until the end of the course. Almost no feedback on tests & assignments. The professor doesn't break down concepts to a level that is understandable for students.

At all costs avoid Avram. Avram cannot lecture to save his life. Mumbles through slides giving minimal explanation for anything. If you ever DARE to ask him a question you will be mocked. He has such an insane ego that shows in his grading. The amount of hw he assigned was ridiculous. 75 questions in 5 days at one point. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Lectures and labs were okay, not great. He never really explained the concepts that well. Online homework can sometimes be long. His tests are extremely hard and it can be very difficult to prepare for them. Yes, he does provide plenty of test reviews, but they will NOT prepare you at all. Avoid if you can.

worst professor you will ever have. Does not give any feedback on mistakes so there is no way to improve. A lot of hw problems in a very short period of time. This class is easy to get by if you just put your head down and do the work but is a waste of time if you actually want to learn something.

I have not had a less helpful teacher in my life. Anytime you have a question you are expected to know the answer yourself. As a teacher it seems as if he is coasting off tenure and does not care if anybody learns in his class.
