Very tough--his discussions are ambushes, so be prepared to speak @any moment
This guy has got to be kidding, the most pompously ridiculous Ive seen yet... he goes out of his way to tell everyone his accomplishments on a day-to-day basis..talks highly abouy himself frequently..not a hard class, just a joke for a professor..

He is horrible if he shows another slide of himself moaning in the dark I'd scream. He makes you feel stupid before you say a word. I hated him without a doubt. SFSU should fire him. Don't take his class.

Yeah, so he's arrogant and odd, nobody's perfect. If you study the slides and the book, you'll definetely pass. I got an A and I didn't go to every class. At times I'd miss entire weeks (the class was Tuesday's and Thursday's).

Easy A. Just study the terms in the book, read the chapters (they are short), and read the chapter summaries. Go to classes the day of the videos. I got an A by doing this.
Easiest class ever. If you get anything lower than an A you've got problems. His tests come right from the easy to read text. He puts a lot of effort into being entertaining, most were laughing at him than with him, but at least most were laughing.
I really liked this prof., he did put a lot of effort in this class. His exams are fair, if you study and attend all the classes, you will def. pass. Take him!
Very straightforward class that manages to keep your interest despite its early morning time. Albert sometime seems like he has a stick up his ass when people dont participate or listen, but he's really a good professor and pleasant person. I recommend him.
What a waste of time. He spends the majority of his lecture time showing you videos and playing you music that have nothing to do with the course. Asks questions on exams that have nothing to do with course material. Spends majority of first four weeks lecturing on cell phones and tardiness.

hez okay...but i took diz class for the grade not hiz lecturing style. so i'd say hez easy. as long as u read the bookz..en i mean really read it..en go thru the vocabz...u'll be definitely juzt fine. well, the video cases count to...but theyre not dat bad if u come to class.

I thought Prof. Albert was an okay teacher. He does get anal about cell phones going off in class and people coming in fifteen minutes after class, but that is his way of teaching professionalism. The class was easy. Just read the book and come to class and you'll do just fine.
EASY!
Very well structured and organized. Easy, common sense material, 3 multiple choice exams, no final, exams are NOT tricky, very easy if you read the book and come to class w/o missing any video cases. However the teacher is very condescending and talks down to people like we're freshmen in high school... but an easy and common sense class.
Oh my god. If you take this teacher, you are in for it. He is the most condesending teacher I have ever had. He is so mean and unapproachable. Seems like he has multiple personalities. But the exams are easy. I just question whether or not it was worth it putting up w/ his rudeness. While he teaches about intrapersonal skills, he has none.
Took it twice and I got a B since I knew what the test was like. Read the book(should have did this the 1st time), it helps alot. Not for lazy people. He gives 3 exams (worth equal amounts) and 3+ extra credit points.
He shows a lot of videos and has questions on the videos on the quizzes, but they are really easy as long as you saw it. His tests aren't so bad. In my class it seemed that he spent a lot of time telling his GA's what to do rather than teach. The class gets kind of dull sometimes, but if you cut it's ok as long as you read adn see the videos.
Easy ass class..common sence materials..and coming in 15min late to a Management class isnt to smart...Just like the real world coming in to a meeting w/ your employees would be unprofesional the same as your cell bumping "I'm Mike Jones" in a me
easy teacher, easy test, make sure to go to class to get the video case notes and you'll be fine, he gives you ten questions ffrom the videos that are on test. dont buy the book its useless lol i never used it. and still recieved an A in the course.
very structured and organized class! awesome teacher who puts time into his lectures and makes them entertaining. people who complain about him are just irresponsible or disrespectful! overall, easy class, just go everyday!
Easy. That is all I have to say.

This class is easy, I cannot deny this. He tries to make his lectures a bit more interesting than they normally would, and as long as you watch the video cases, you're fine. But the professor is really a jerk. I can understand why he yells at studnets sometimes, but he does say some really **** and **** remarks that are insulting and just weird. I usually like teachers that joke around, but he isn't funny. He's extremely arrogant and anal, and I dislike him so much. Don't let him get to you.
The guy has an ego big enough to fill the theater that he lectures in. I've seen him go crazy when students walk into the theater late. Come on,**** happens and none of people even notice those things except him. Talk about anal rententive people. His test are easy, and honestly save yourself the trouble of attending everyday, your better off sleeping in and reading the book. Test are based vocabulary words from the book.
So he's a bit anal about cell phone ringing and people coming in late ... but I don't blame him. It's disrespecting. Would the same person that has the cell phone ringing in class have his cell phone on when he's in a meeting? No! Class is boring sometimes, but at least he tries to entertain us by playing music and videos. It's an easy class.
The class is really easy. You dont neccesarily have to attend to every class, just the ones where he shows video cases because he asks easy "freebee" questions on them for his tests. There are three 50 point exams that make up your grade plus 5 extra credit points. I recommend the class... u just have to read the assigned reading... I got an A
If you like to teach yourself then take this teacher, very boring, and a learn on your own class.
he is the most anal teacher i've taken. he treats us like lil kids. he spends so much time pointing people out whose phone goes off or those who sleep.you don't have to come to class but he has q's on his tests that asks stupid questions about the videos he shows and them song lyrics. other than that, tests are really easy. 3 exams; no final.
Easy class to pass. Just read the book and go to class on the day of video cases. Like was mentioned before, you're prolly better off sleepin in if it's your first class or doin sumthin else (unless he's showing a video).
He is very articulate. Easy to grasp the idea of what kind of questions are going to be on each exam.

This is a easy class to pass if you just read the book, and go to the video days. He's a little up tight about rules, which is really distracting in the middle of lecture, just make sure your cell is off
Worst Professor Ever! He has poor socail skills and is very up tight, if you need any assistance ask a colleague or a GA before approuching to him.
It an extremely easy class all you have to do is just read the book and come to class for the video cases. You should be warned that it is also an EXTREMELY boring I counted the seconds until the class ended.
Powerpoint slides packaged with the book = joke. Buy the book on craigslist or from another student cuz they're not necessary. Extremely paranoid/cautious teacher during the exams. Don't show up 15 late cuz the door will be shut. Will stop class for the stupidest reasons. Basically stuck taking his class b/c his is at 9am and is the largest.
He's a really organized teacher. He seems a bit strict but that's just the way he is. He is entertaining at times, with his jokes, and some powerpoint slides.
Albert is extremely anal!! if you're late he locks the door, if your cell rings or he sees you get pts docked, and trust me even in a full auditorium he will spot you sleeping so beware..his lectures are boring as hell..just read the book front to cover and you'll pass..oh and come during days he has vids even though he doesn't follow the schedule.
I hated this class, more like the teacher! the teacher sucks ass! Three exams all 50 multiple choice question! Very anal! Locks the door on you if your late! Boring class!

yeah, like people said, he's anal about cell phones and stuff. still one of the best classes though. pretty easy exams...I barely inched in an A. go to the lectures which are always interesting, and read the textbook which is short and sweet
Worst teacher ever. Gets hell bent on anything that happens, and snapping his fingers during exams is the most annoying thing ever. Extremely boring, and acts like he's superior to everyone. He could be a horrible manager, yet he teaches it. He could probably spot an ant on the wall and he'd go absolutely crazy. Easily annoyed by dumb things.
His lecture is so boring. He basicly read from power point. The class is in the theatre and it is in the early morning. You are going to be very sleepy because of the time and also the way he talks. Trust me. His test is not difficult so all you have to do is read the book. In conclusion,BORING
This guy is terrible. Worst teacher at SFSU. To bad all business majors will take him. The guy has a bug up his rear. Bring cofee if you do go to class. Sit in the back and listen to music. Read book and take notes on videos u will be fine.

straightforward teacher, test are also straightfoward. i didnt think he was bad at all, if you listen in his class and read, youll do fine. his test based on books and video cases. so go to class. he hates late and rude people.
Get's really worked up about people not paying attention, cell phones/noises, and tardiness otherwise he is a semi-good professor. Quater of the time he's interesting, quater he's drop dead boring, half he's repetitive. He's tries to be funny to keep you interested. Tests are from lecture (you need to go if you want an A) and straight from book.
Without a doubt, the most egotistical, demeaning, and poorly trained educator I have ever met. Berates students and GAs in front of the entire class and generally manages the class with a command and control style, which is exactly what he advocates against in the business world. Unfortunately, he's the only on-campus teacher of this course.
If you want to just pass the class you don't need to go to all the lectures, just keep uptodate on your reading when exam comes. But to get an A go to lectures n participate plus read in advance. I got A for all 3 MC exams. But Annoying how he yells at ppl. come late or phone rings I feel bad for them so I rather not go when I know I will be late
like everyone said, Boring. talks either really fast or really slow, like you're stupid. VERY mean and anal about disruptions. Don't talk, sleep, turn phone/laptop noise off or he'll stop class & point u out & take off pts. Go to class during video cases. He had a test ques on what song was being played during lecture! doors lock at 9:15. Got an A-
I still can't believe he's a management professor. Why? He sucks as a professor who teaches about management. Why? Super anal, I found that his "mini clips" & music out of taste, condescending & ****. However, the class is fair, based on 3 multiple choice tests. Just attend when there's a video & the tests the rest: SELF TEACH from the book.
Very good class! Prof. Mike uses a lost of multimedia, and does not jsut lecture. He gives real good examples and you get to understand the practical implications. I spoke with him about my careeer and he is very helpful. He does have policies about not being more than 15 minutes late or having a cell go off, but we are going into the business worl

He has the worst teaching style. He yells at students for coming/leaving. yells at you for having your head down. He plays useless clips that doesn't relate to mgmt but will be on the test. ex. like what music was on ___ clip on this date. WORST TEACHER. He teaches management but doesn't utilize any management skills. He has a power trip
Class is pretty easy if you attend class you barely have to study. He tries to be funny which he isn't and make class interactive but doesn't really succeed. He can be a real jerk to students and TA's, very condescending. He flips out and goes on rants if you come in late, slouch,or sleep. Class is pretty good other than that and his personality.
a good professor, just be ready to take exams and that is it

This pro. loves to scold for students coming late and leaving earlier. He also loves to dedect your point because of some stupid reasons, for example, didn't bring your ID with you. In order to pass his class, you should memorize all the terms on the book and watch the video class which showing in the class.
Albert was an alright teacher. He gets upset over stupid stuff and takes awhile to get back on subject, but I found the lectures informative and mandatory if you want an A on tests.
If you show up everyday and watched all the videos and listen closely to his lectures this class shouldn't be hard for you. Just don't show up late or leave early or else he WILL scream at you. He's expectation and exams are very clear, and post grades up from the exam the very same day. Very fast and effective teacher!
Learned alot; very focused on real world! ; recommend you don't memorize the material - understand it!
Really liked the class; there is much multimedia and the material is presented in a vry interesting way. Attend class, can help you in your career.
Do you like a lecturer who rambles? Or a lecturer who speaks slowly to emphasize points? Well if you like ramblers, go and take Professor Albert. Everything is based on the textbook, so you better get ready to read every page of assigned readings. Received an A- in the course.
You could learn more by opening fortune cookies than taking this class. Most of the time spent in lectures is watching ridiculous home videos of Albert doing his rendition of Jackass, seriously. It's a super easy class to get an A in, but none of it will prepare you for life or work. Its a joke. Albert's a joke. Bring your own popcorn.
He is such a horrible teacher. It was very distracting when he would through a fit evey time someone was late or their cell phone would go off. The whole semester he acted as if he was so much above the class, a definite ego maniac. He probably couldn't cut it as a manageer, with his wonderful people skills (sarcastic) so became a teacher.

Took his summer section, but im pretty sure hes the same durring the regular semester. Hes pretty dorky, boring lectures, but the class isnt as bad as everyone says. The material is easy, all i did really was skim through the book and read all the terms and passed a class with a B+. You have to be in class to see his ridiclous videos because its go
His class is actually not as bad as everyone said. He knew how to manage his teacher time during summer so the class doesn't seem as long as 4 hours. I actually recieved a B in his class and about the tardiness and cellphones... it's just a rule so just follow it, easy points. Those points made a difference in my grade.

Professor was too preocupied by distractions. Goes off on long tangents.

Prof. Albert is a very good teacher. He explains everything so well and basically tells you what is going to be on the tests. He is extremely fair and helpful. I just can't imagine how people fail his class. I think those who do are idiots. The subject is not hard, just go to class. He has strict rules but they are completely understandable.
Complete Rambler... Does not talk about test material just repeats what is on the powerpoint slides from the book. Makes it very difficult to meet with him, you have to go thru his staff of assistants that he treats like doormats. I personally cannot stand sitting thru his class. I would strongly recommend taking this class with a different teacher
Very clear lectures, he tries to add visuals. Exams are very fair, every question is clear and reflects lecture material. You need to pay attention to his videos and to be awake in class. He gets a little weird about people "sleeping" or not paying attention, and never be late, he doesn't take attendance. If you're late it's best not to go.
The lecture material is easy; read the chapters, review the power points and you'll do fine. Unfortunately he is by far the rudest control freak I have ever seen. I hardly doubt he's ever managed employees, and if he has, they must of all hated him. And he really does insult students and his GAs. Pathetic.
Read the book for tests and you would be fine.
Wow this guy is a prick but if you study you can still get a good grade. Try not to fall asleep in class. you'll get docked for it.
Likes to show outdated business training videos from the 80's and 90's during class. Also shoots movies of himself and makes the class watch them. To cut costs and free up classrooms the school combined about 10 classes of about 60 MGMT-405 students into an auditorium w/about 600 students, which unfortunately make the class very impersonal.
This guy is nuts, has seriously bad people skills, but the class is relativly easy. You only really need to show up for movie days because its on the tests. And yes, the movies are bad, outdated, or worst, his home movies that have absolutly no relevancy. Read the book, and you'll be fine. Avoid meeting with him face to face.
One of the worst teachers I have ever encountered in my life.
Because taking a supersection class isn't bad enough, this man must be the worst professor I've ever had. He's incredibly rude and unreasonably cranky. Not just with students, his TA's suffer the same fate. If you can avoid this class, do.
He's a very good teacher, he knows his material very well and has a very clear organized way of explaining them and is very helpful informing you on what to expect for the test. However I don't think he'd be a very good manager, his videos are clear but outdated and his home made ones remind me of what Michael Scott would do in the Office.

"Everyone's a brick on the wall" This class is really easy, the exams are common sense and you only need to attend class on movie days. If you failed this class, you must be an idiot and you should not be majoring in business, you won't make it in the real world. Also, people think majoring in business will get rich, but its not true. Read book
Don't go past row J and don't talk too loud in class to your friends. He gets frustrated easily when people don't obey his rules but he at least incorporate what they did as examples in his lectures.
God forbid you walk past row J. He is the most rudest and most selfish professor I have ever had in all my years in school. Not only does he treat his students badly, he steps all over his TA's and embarrases them in front of the class. Read chapter summaries and class notes. You'll pass with a B+. Seriously avoid if you can!!!!!!!!!!
He's a really easy teacher. Just come to class on movie days and read the chapters before the tests and you will be fine. I know ppl are making a big fuss about the row j thing, but it's frustrating when your in a class of 400 and 50% of the ppl still don't undertand where they are allowed to sit, even when there are signs everywhere. So stop B****
Attendance is not nesessary, just go for the video cases, which are important. You have to read the textbook and lecture book, if you want to get a great grade. He'll give bonus points which can lift your grade such as from a B- to an A-. This is class really not hard if you just read. If you're looking for an average C, then you can skim thru book
Tests are NOT hard. Read the book. Quirky sense of humor. Show up and read the book, you can earn an A no problem
Albert is one of the most annoying teachers I ever had, and I really didn't like him. BUT this class is really easy as long as you read the chapters in the book, which are not long at all, study the notes and show up for video cases. Everyone should be able to pass this class if not get a B or A. Show some common sense and keep the bonus points.
Its a pretty standard class as far as how much work to receive the desired grade. I read every chapter and attended almost every lecture and got an A. I'm sure the class could be passed by only attending the lectures, or only reading the book. Hoooray for not allowing people past row J, having people scoot past you during a lecture is annoying!
I really liked this class. prof albert tries really hard to teach class in a diff style than the boring lectures. Multimedia lectures are a plus. I enjoyed coming to class. Tests were based on lecture and book. If you miss lectures, you might lose a few points, but not fail. I learned a lot.
It was a very easy class for me, and I believe it is very easy for a lot of people. One thing that I don't like about Prof Albert is that he wasted too much time on unnecessary things,he likes to pause the lecture just to criticise the late comers. However, he is a fair grader, you get what you deserve!!!
If he didn't purposely make the test way harder than necessary, this class wouldn't be too bad. But you add in his obsession with classroom conduct, he rants and raves endlessly, and makes this class hard to bear.
I had 3 classes in summer section 1. The dry material of thist class didn't kill me and I still got A on all 3 exams. It's a very easy class as long as you read the textbook twice and watched the videos. Read before the lecture so that you won't let yourself fall asleep in class(I often found myself woke up several times in one class...)
Very dry material but Prof. Albert had done his best.More than 150 students in summer in one class,he wouldn't been able to make it a more exciting class.Though it's dry, I think the material is helpful for our future working attitude and ethic. Each ch has average 5 pages(double sides) of a small book,it's really not much to read.Got A, easy class.
Easy A, yes, but that isn't the point. The point is - he does not deliver what it is that we should know. Two, he teaches management but utilizes none of the principles himself when leading a class. Three, he undermines SFSU students. Four, the guy is an insecure mess. His class doesn't make you competitve enough in a competitive world.
I found him to be strict mainly on the class conduct instead of the material. The class material was easy to understand the tests multiple choice were very straight forward. Prof Albert tries his best to make class interesting with videos and music. An A for most entertaining slide shows. Just try to be 100% there and don't be late!
The guy is totally neurotic and will completely single you out if you're doing something he doesn't like. But the material is easy. I'd recommend his summer course if you're just looking to get this class out of the way.
Wrong. A lot of his reasoning behind his actions is not to prepare us for the real world, it stems from his insecurities and high blood pressure. I admit, controlling 150 students isn't easy, but he'd get more respect if he was smart. Being able to lecture for 4 hours doesn't equate to knowing his stuff. It just means he's done it many times.
Take this class if you are serious about learning management. Don't take this class if you just want to get by. Mike Albert knows what he's talking about and if you ask the right questions and pay attention, you can learn a lot from him. He teaches the course by looking at at management from many different angles, I found this to be very useful.
totally boring. he should be a cop instead of a teacher because he cares more about orders of class than the subject itself. if you're often late, don't take his class
He is not that great, he is trying to fail people rather to help, so please take an online one and not this one. It is really hard.
DON'T TAKE THIS TEACHER IF YOU WANT TO PAST. TRUST ME
do not take him, he is a bad teacher. since we have budget cut at school, we should have fire him.
One of the worst teachers I have had.He is more interested in failing people than really teaching them and allowing them to earn a good grade.Makes extremely easy and obvious subject matter confusing by making his lectures very wordy.VERY BORING.Tests are very hard and confusing, almost like he WANTS to trick you.UNFAIR TEACHER.Take online only.
worse teacher ever. i highly recommend the online one.
bad teacher and like to deduct points from student. HOPE THE SCHOOL KICK HIM OUT.
I took him fall 08. He is a very bad teacher! he makes tests very wordy and hard. His lectures are mostly situations and examples. Stay away!!
I suggest everyone take this class during the summer online. If that's not possible, then take him. That way you only have to deal with him for 5 weeks instead of 4 months. Beware though, his summer sessions are brutal. Because it's a 4 hour class that meets twice a week, it's easy to fall asleep in class. And we all know what happens when you zzz.
take teh online one, he is cop and not a teacher. he likes to deduct points from student, he loves to fail people.
worse teacher ever, do not take him
Took him over the summer and gave me a D even though i was 3 pts away from a C. Had to take him again and the regular semester classes are alot easier to pass. Read the book, or just take the vocab out of the book and study the video's in his slides and your golden. you'll pass the class like a breeze.
this guy is freaking insane. Will take away your bonus points for sitting in the wrong row in class, showing up 15 min. late, cell phone ringing. He is rude to all of his TA's, he teaches mgmt, but would probably be the worst manager IN YOUR LIFE. I didn't go to class once, just read the book and showed up for tests, came out with a B.
man, since we have a budget cut now, he should be fire instead of professor burger. this guy likes to abuse students by words, man just hate his words and his attitude. hope this help to any students who want to pass mgmt 405
worse teacher ever in my life, want to slap him hard.
hate is all im going to say.
man, i cannot believe Mike Albert, himself, gives good feedback to himself on this site. i hope he can read this because if he did not change his style of teaching, then he will continued receiving these bad reviews for sure. BAD TEACHER
bad teacher
If you show up to class and read you will do just fine in the class. He tries to make the class interesting with multimedia, etc. He?s obsessed with class conduct, but if you just sit in your seat and do the work you will have no problem. He?s not the best, but he?s definitely not the worst I?ve seen.
3 exams. Not comprehensive but his teaching sucks really bad. If you are late he rather have you not come into class and if you just need to leave 5 minutes early he rather not have you come into class. So he rather have us miss a whole lecture than to miss just 5 minutes. He thinks he's funny and makes fun of student & Tas. Horrible class.
all you have to do is read the book which has short chapters, and take the three tests. it isn't even necessary to show up to class. you get bonus points for following instructions. easy A
I liked his class! I understand where he is comming from when he requires people to follow his rules (which are not hard to follow)It is an easy "A" if you memorize the concepts in the book, no trick questions. People don't like him because he is very harsh on people not following the rules. Take his class its a good one! ;)
(MGMT 405) I liked his class! I understand where he is comming from when he requires people to follow his rules (which are not hard to follow)It is an easy "A" if you memorize the concepts in the book, no trick questions. People don't like him because he is very harsh on people not following the rules. Take his class its a good one! ;)
Terrible teacher. Mean, unhelpful.Do not take him!
He's a quirky fella. But the class is structured clearly. Don't do anything to take away your bonus points. Listen for him to say "That's important", "You need to know that" or "You should know". Those are the cues for things that will be on the test. Not a hard class. Don't be a bonehead and you'll be fine.
this teacher has weird rules..but if you follow them its fine...its not that hard. He deducts points for little things like sleeping in class or walking pass row J. Show up to class days when there are video thats an extra 5 points on ur tests..and read the book. its all about reading the book to get a good grade. memorizing slides is useless.
Bad teacher. Do not take him!
This is a BIG class...so he does have alot of rules for class.I found the strange part to be his army of TAs on test day.BEWARE of breaking a rule during class.Aside from losing points from your class grade, you'll be verbally reprimanded/abused infront of 200+ people while he announces it to every1.He references Apple w/ no real IT/ilearn.com use.
man, he wrote a good review for himself again. he is a bad teacher, i have him from spring 2008 and omg he is terrible. good thing i pass with a CR. please do not take him.
albert is the most anal teacher at SFSU, next to Sheila Tully. his class is pretty easy as long as you read the book, however, rude rude rude. if it were not for such a large classroom. if he yelled at you like he does to other student, you would never go back to class. perhaps, you might just stay home and shed tears.
professor albert has a unique teaching style, but i find some of the things he does weird. he will interrupt the entire class and publicly humiliate you if you fall asleep or leave early. he wastes more time by calling out ppl rather than ignoring them. he does this weird fortune cookie thing too. lots of random music clips. films ppl w/o consent!!
This professor is a very determined, hard working guy who knows many way to entertain while teaching. all his videos and music is related to the class lecture and are also very funny. we watched south park last week and it perfectly matched what his point was. M Albert is an excellent prof. however he is a little obsessive but a good professor.
At first I thought this class would be fun, but Albert is a little overly into himself for my taste. He spends almost every class focusing on Nordstrom, Saks 5th Ave, and Apple not so much because those companies are relevant, but because he wants us to know he can afford their products. The fortune cookie w/asian music is borderline offensive....
hes not bad. just go to class, read the book and youll pass. Hes easy to hate because hes a white guy making jokes at the expense of women and others, but overall I find him to be hilarious. Plus he makes fun of students who make stupid comments about working out 3x a week to look more buff for a job interview or ask if he records all his voicemail
AVOID THIS CLASS AT ALL COST!
He's not that horrible, but going to class is a must if you want to pass. He pretty much tell us everything that will be on the exams in class, which is really helpful. If you can get pass his bad jokes and his cockyness, you'll be fine.
Not a good teacher overall. Belittles students in front of the entire 600+ student class. Seems to lack respect for his students at all. Not too tough of a class though. I only went 5 days this semester (3 of which being exam days) because I can't stand him lecturing. Just study the book and his slides as much as you can and you'll be ok.
Tips to pass the class: follow his instructions, memorize definitions for the tests, and make sure you are available for the videos. If you can do that, you will get an A.
He is not teaching. He is playing his stupid games with students' grades
Misbehaved students distract from the learning experience. Professor Albert tries to prevent distractions during his class by taking away bonus points. Read the book, take notes during lectures, study and you will pass with an A.
The fact that he's teaching a course on that even touches ethics is laughable. He asked the class if they (or anyone they knew) used an iPod vibrator. His lectures are offensive, to say the least. Take this class if you enjoy watching montages of asian people, with him basically saying "colored folk are just like us!"
I personally think he's not that bad of a professor. His lectures are well-structured and helpful. Attend class and you'll do fine. Most students think he's such an a** because he will embarrass you in front of the whole class and take away your bonus pts for the SMALLEST things. His personality is MEAN AND CRUEL, but he teaches pretty well.
good teacher
Easy class, and he keeps it fairly interesting for what it is: a huge (600+ student) lecture class. Go to class, pay attention, make sure your phone is silenced, and don't ask stupid questions and you'll have no problems.
Don't bother memorizing is slides or lectures that he talks about. It won't be on the test. Read the book and attend class on video days. Maybe that would be the plan.
He is out of his mind. Do nottake his class. You will end up feeling bad that you took the class.
WORST PROFESSOR EVER
Decent teacher but, refuses to use ILearn, instead makes you buy HIS published power point slides. So that means he is gets a cut of each students txt cost online $11 with his power point $ 100. Buy book online save $ and just pay attention in class and you will be fine.

This guy is probably the worst teacher I have had so far. Repeats himself constantly, gives the same irrelevant examples over and over again. He wastes a lot of time on embarrassing people who wanna leave a few minutes early. He should not teach at a university, cause he cannot relate to students at all and neither does he know how to lecture well!

The worsest teacher I have ever had in my life. If you want to laught take him but you not gonna get a good grade
This professor makes me terrified to come to class by constantly terrifying students. his lectures are really boring and some are extremely inappropriate and borderline offensive. why would you show us a video of you groaning and moaning in your sleep? its really not for the classroom
WORST TEACHER EVER! I never post on any professor but just a warning to all business majors: TAKE THE ONLINE MGMT CLASS! This man is completley in love with himself and the classes are pointless. you can actually do well if you read all the chapters really really throughoughly. HE IS THE WORST TEACHER EVER!
This is not a good instructor to teach this class. You have to be on your best behavior or he will get mad at you and lose points. Read his syllabus and you should do ok. Try to take the online class if possible.
not that bad. following all his instructions in the syllabus, remembering all the features he points out during the classes, and memorizing all the video cases, going to all his classes, then you will be doing fine in his class. however, you will be suffered before the day of the exams.I learned many managerial concepts in his class actually.
Quite possibly the most boring class I have ever taken, but it's a piece of cake! He'll tell you NOT to memorize the slides in preparation for the exams. I memorized the slides (all exam questions come straight from the slides) and got an A in the class. Go to class because there are exam questions about the videos watched!
go class, watch video case, understand the slides - u will get high grade
worsest teacher i have ever had, boring, useless, crazy and hard to pass. Do not take him!!!!!
read the book, watch the videos, and you'll be fine.
Very easy class, very easy teacher. Tests are the textbook definitions, some simple CS and video cases. Attendance is non-mandatory, and common sense behavior is required in the auditorium. You get 6 bonus points at the end. I got an easy A in the class, and I was there 1/3 of the time. Read the book, and google the video cases=A.
This class wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I ended up with a B+ without reading the chapters. Come to class and follow his rules, and you'll do fine.
Avoid if possible. I asked a topical question in class once, and his tone when responding was impatient and made me feel like an idiot. He spent a lot of class time singling out students in this way. And he often made comments or jokes that were inappropriate given his position as a professor.
People seriously need to grow up. His disciplinary style is nothing short of magnificent, even if he seems harsh at times. If you can't handle the heat of a non-math prerequisite, then you should return to grade school!
I had five other classes this semester and Albert is nowhere near as bad as people make him sound. He has specific rules which are meant to manage a group of 700+ students. That's a difficult thing to do. What's more interesting is the fact that 'future business leaders' can't follow them...it's not kindergarten people!
Terribile, unprofessional professor. He hates his work and that is why he acts agressive toward students
full of self and talks down to students. Rude. Music selected good and so are videos
He only has 3 tests for the class. Test q's come from videos, and most importantly the book. Read the book line by line. Read it 5 times. You'll ace this class. Go to office hours and ask questions. Be Prepared when you see him. He is an right to the point and does not waste time type. The more you engage with him, the more you learn. Good Luck!
This teacher is very strict. Has a table of the number of bonus points he will subtract from you for ex: leaving class early, emailing the wrong email, and simple things. His style of teaching makes students afraid to ask questions. I don't him and hope I will never have to take a class he teaches AGAIN.
Wow, i really thought he is going to be a bad teacher after reading the reviews, but he is great! His class is structured the way it is for the 700 "brain-dead" people. He is actually pretty easy, and the book is very small. I have no problem missing his classes because most of it is in the book. (not the videos of course) Def an easy A or B+!!
No HW, 3 tests. Come to class to find out what you should study for the tests. Has strict rules which are easy to follow if you're not a complete idiot. Has 650 students per clas. Follow rules, get 1/2 grade higher overall. Not helpful at all even at office hours, try the TAs. Take Online if able to bypass interaction w/him. Tests can be confusing.
This guy thinks he is God. 3 tests cuestions somewhat confusion. he is not approachable. He is not nice at all. If u are ok with reading u will pass this class. Get ur 6 bonus points free. Watch video cases they will be on the test. Take someone else if possible. Lectures are torturing. If ur good with books this class should a easy for u
I could understand where the bad reviews are coming from...but after taking his class it was not that bad. Sure attending is helpful but get to know a fellow student so you can share class info. when one is absent. STRICT on his code BUT thats how successful companies operate in the real world. Break rules and get penalized somehow.STUDY=PASS...
I think he makes a lot of stuff up. The book is good, but at times not clear enough. Lecture = torture. IF ur a good reader then u should pass. 6 free bonus points to boost ur grade. I would take someone else though. He is very stuck up and not approachable. SFSU school of business is decreasign its quality to bad to bad.
He is arrogant and stuck up, but his class is pretty easy. 3 tests, pretty straightup, none cumulative. gives 6 bonus points WHICH REALLY HELPS IN THE END, will take off points if you break his stupid rules, but its really easy not to break them. You will pass if you study the course notes and read the book
Yeah, he's an ass, but he's a pretty smart guy. He knows his stuff and attendance is mandatory because he tells you when something is "important" which means it WILL be on the exam. There are three exams, that's all you're graded on. Listen to instructions carefully and you'll be fine. Pretty easy class
He's an ass, but this class is passable. He makes everything harder than they should be. Only Three tests make the grade, so it can be quite stressful.
He had a lot of rules, but it's understandable why with such a large class. He is very boring however. There wasn't a class where I did not node off. Paying attention in class is only useful for the video cases (the only reason I went). Read the book and go over the chapter summaries and you'll be fine. 3 tests makes up your entire grade.
Please have this guy fired to help state school budgets. He is not teaching, instead he is having fun with his little game with students. He has been wasting our tax money and our valuable time. He openly insulted his TA in front of all students. Speeches are loaded with bias, sexual and discrimination ideas.
He is crazy
Yes, he really is crazy. He's a machine! But he knows his stuff. The class was fairly easy though. There's a half grade bonus for everyone, as long as you don't forget your ID... something many people couldn't bother to understand. The same people that will come here and cry and complain about how hard the class was....
He is a solid teacher. Might come off as a little crazy, but it's only when he gets frustrated with students that waste his time. He honestly does care what we learn so sets basic rules to make the class flow easier, considering there's hundreds of students in the class... Take the class and ignore the complainers
He tries to be funny but all it does is make the class REALLY awkward. He's really awkward himself. I had the hardest time trying to stay awake for orientation. And it's only orientation - the first day of class! Geez, I hope this class gets better although I highly doubt that.
Professor Albert isnt like people say. yes he can be eccentric but he tells you what exactly is on the test by giving "hints" so make sure you attend class. Test are straight forward. Easy A if you go to class.
This class isnt that great.. The materials he teaches are pretty straight forward but he is an a**. yes i understand that there are a lot of students taking the course but he doesn't have to be an a** about it. he would literally embarrass some of the students in front the class. he isnt polite and not really understanding.one of the worst teachers
Lectures: boring unless he is humiliating someone. Has "rules" that some are too stupid to follow &therefore deserve humiliation, but disturbing nonetheless. Study straight from the book, but you do have to go to lecture to see the videos he quizzes about on the test. 3 tests, 45 questions each, &it's all gibberish so can be tricky to get an A.
Not the best teacher but not the worst. Super boring, only came to class for videos. Very weird guy, and is picky bout everything. Rules are very important. Read the book is the best advice as lectures are useless. Remember everything from the book and u shud be ok on tests. Basically definitions and video q's. Not a very good class
I agree with the comments from 7/9, 7/26, 8/30 and 12/2. My easiest A this semester. Just read the book throughly before test day (not cumulative, yay!) and make sure you retain all your extra credit points by obeying ALL the rules (they bumped me from B+ to an A!) Most of the ppl who flunked didn't take all 3 tests, thats why! very easy class!!
I really like this professor. He has a solid plan on what to teach each day. Very well organized. He doesn't waste time at all and don't like students to waste their time either. Very straight forward class and just read the whole book. it's not that big. Pay attention in his class.
sure he knows his stuff, but he is a cocky jerk. made it hard for me to pay attention because it was annoying of him to act like he knew if all. its a boring class too. not too hard to pass though. just read and watch the video cases. knowing the vocab helps a lot.

Easy A class!! 3 exams no final. read the book which is not hard or long. PP presentations are very clear. You dont have to come to class just take the tests and read the book. 5 points out of 45 are from video cases 40 questions are from book.
Forget this class, you'll learn nothing. He hired ppl to write review for him, sick!
Easy A! Just go to class and pay attention, he tells you exactly what's going to be on the exam.
He is very strict. Lectures are not helpful for the exams only video questions which are 5 points on exams. Read the chapters like he said for the midterms and you will do fine. Tests are not hard if you read the book. Each chapter is very short like 15 pages. Read them twice. Overall his lectures are not helpful for exams.stuid, scantron, clipboad
the class is a joke. Very easy. 3 multiple choice exams. the only thing that isnt funny... are his jokes and music selection. IF you have a friend to make fun of the teacher with then the class is bearable. good luck! and sorry for those that still need to take this class, ah hah!
Easy class just follow his study method and its a guarenteed A. However, Class is boring as hell and pointless (except for the video examples) Just stay on top of this class and you'll be fine. He completely ruins the song "Taking care of Business"...Everytime i hear it i think of the class
Easy A class, pay attention to the key words ,such as "you should know this" you should understand, and so and so, those will be on the test, supper easy questions on video cases! English is my second language, so if I can get A, I think everybody can get a A
Just took the Summer Session '11 for 4 hours each day. Easy class, horrible teacher! Format is 3 multiple choice exams with 6 extra bonus points in the end. Very strict on policies. Just read terms and remember case studies videos!
Horrible teacher, but super easy class.Just read the book, go to class for the videos(never know when he's gonna show them) and follow his ridiculous rules.3 exams, 45 questions, 5 of them based on video cases. It's an easy class, just a pain to listen to this guy, full of himself.
Awesome realist! One of the most precise presenters that I have encountered in my life: Tony Robbinsesque with the inspirational factor. In order to succeed, simply: go to lecture, listen for "this is important", or "you should know this", and you'll be fine. Highly recommended despite the prescribed calculated rating that I have submitted.
His class is boring. you need to read the book and make flash card. I got a C on the 1st exam by just studying what he said is "important" I do feel like learning a little bit about the business world from him tho
Go to class to watch the videocases but bring something to entertain yourself during lecture/while waiting for a sporadic videocase. (Don't bother taking notes during lecture, they don't apply to test.) Memorize the textbook using flashcards and you will pass. Chapters are only like 15 pages each and 5 chapters per test. I got an A.
Also, just buy the used copy of the textbook; There is no need to even buy the workbook. It is just a copy of the slides with lines next to them for notes.
I think he actually wants his students to apply what he teaches in the real world. Definitely some things that you learn that apply to the business world. His lectures can get boring sometimes, but they are ok. As for the tests you basically want to look at the slides and study what the book says about the slides to get an A. Fairly easy class
Not a bad class, not a bad prof. He does ramble and get a bit opinionated, and his speaking style is somewhat awkward. Pay attention when he says "you should know this"=STUDY THOSE SLIDES! He's not hepful but the class is cut-n-dry, just raw key terms & such. I underestimated the class; could have done better. Not hard to get an A!
pretty easy class. all you need to do is memorize the pp slides. he told us not to do that but that's all i did and i passed the class with a B so make sure you buy the book that has the pp slides inside! you don't really have to go to class everyday because he doesn't take role but a few questions on each exam is based on videos he shows in class.
Buy the textbook and read it. I did not go to class after second midterm, I was OK with missing 5 questions that were based on video cases that he shows. He is not an engaging speaker, some videos are a inappropriate. Easy class, just read the book and if you go to class, don't be late.
Read the syllabus, follow it, buy the book and read it! Attendance isn't mandatory, and really doesn't serve any purpose.
Professor loves the sound of his own voice and has some ridiculous classroom policies. The only reason to go to class is to watch the videos which you will be tested on. I'd suggest reading the book and then memorizing all the bold definitions by heart. That's how I got an A in the class -his boring lectures were completely irrelevant to the exams.
OK teacher. He teaches huge classes (MGMT405, 600+ students) so it's not easy. Exams are not that hard, and he gives bonus points. I made it with a C attending 2 classes only in the whole semester. Having the book is mandatory though.
I don't think he is a good professor. He tend to care much about rules, but not quality of learning. I learn more from the book than from him. My recommendation is to study at home and go to the exam. Missing only 5 pts of video case is worth it. Overall, this class is about rule/exams/scores. How to imply in the real world? read the book!
The way he lectures is not effective. He makes the material more confusing than it already is. READ THE BOOK and really study for the tests. He says that his answer choices are as clear as red and blue on this tests, but they're not. Make sure you study or you will easily fail! No assignments, just 3 big tests. STUDY!!!!
MGMT 405 is not a hard subject, and Albert isn't that bad of a teacher. However, it is entirely possible to show up for 4 days and get a high grade in the class (1st day, 2 midterms, final). Oh btw, he's crazy about his Bonus points which you will want to use. Overall, not hard, read the book, don't loose bonus points, and you'll pass.
I agree that he is not a hard teacher, he just wants a lot of things to go his way. But as long as you study his slides you should be good. the exams are based on his slides a lot (speaking from my experience) the class is very boring and i fell asleep all the time. but passed the class easily. study the slides well and memorize it at home.
He is a pretty good teacher. I took this class over the summer. If you read the book and study his slides you will get and A. And don't lose bonus points. Pretty easy but good class over all
Amazingly clear and useful class. A bit strict. His lecturing style is a bit disorienting. He tends to look around a lot, as if attempting eye contact. However he looks at probably 3 times as many locations per minute as is necessary.
It's a very confuse class, you think the lecture is easy but ends up fail in the exams. And numb atmosphere, fall in sleep very easily
Terrible teacher. I wish SFSU offered another professor so future students wouldnt have to deal his Albert. His lectures are pointless to go to and he tries REALLY hard to make the material clear and understanding, but makes things even more confusing and boring. Buying the book is mandatory.
He is easy to pass if your the type of person who can memorize lecture notes and definitions. I didn't buy the textbooks and just took notes in class and copied notes I missed from a friend when I missed class. Did the whole cramming before a test memorizing everything and got an A in the class. If your a procrastinator this is the class for you.
Fall '12. STUDY THE POWERPOINT SLIDES- That is key to an A! Seriously, ppl who are complaining did not attend and/or study. Prof Albert is ok! I love that he gives bonus points. I got a B+ and I am a B average student in my other classes! Gives 3 straightforward exams. I don't like his teaching style, but he is ok. READ OVER SLIDES!
His class was EASY. I went to most lectures and only studied the margins of the book the night before each of the 3 tests. Got an A. I'm pretty sure he's a sociopath, but whatever.
I dislike prof. Albert class & his teaching style. 405 is a hard class, but if you study you'll do well. Do not listen to those that says, read the slides before the exams. I will tell you this, if you do that you'll not pass. You have to undertand each ch. by reading ahead of the class. If exam2 is 1pt higher than exam1 you'll get 2pts for exam1.
I took MGMT 405 fall 2012. Mike Albert is really bad teacher. He always wants you to follow the rule but it’s not even worth, he doesn’t care about his student. If you want to learn something, don’t take his class. 3 hard exam and useless video case which you need to know on the exam and no homework at all.
Attend every class, read every chapter thouroughly, watch each online coursestream. Annoying at times during lecture, yells at his TA's and gives them dirty looks, make sure you dont arrive late or leavy early, and put your phone on silent, seriously he will single you out in front of 600 people.Knows his material, annoying way of teaching though.
He seems like a maniac, but he is a very organized lecturer. He will say "this is important" when going over something that will be on the midterm. The tests are pretty easy as long as you skim the book. Everyone gets bonus points, but you lose them if you don't follow simple instructions. Overall, the content is pretty easy.
Read the book, go to every class, make sure "you know this"... You have to watch the video cases in class, that are only in class, their will be test questions. I can't stand the way he lectures, he wants everything to go as planned, and has no problem using people as examples, so turn your phone off, show up on time, pay attention.
Read the syllabus, and you will pass his class. Follow directions. If you do not, points will be taken away. Listen to his directions, and you can pass.
I think Prof Albert definitely talks too much. He just goes on and on giving too many unnecessary examples. It makes the lectures slow and boring. It's not hard to get a good grade in the class. Just study the book and/or the Powerpoints. Your grade is based on three multiple choice exams. The questions are mostly from the book and straight-forward
dont take his class.
Boring lectures since he also put the lectures online. It's kind of redundant but very informative! The only reason I go to his class was the videos which is always included in the exams. No homework and quizzes at all. Your grade is based on 3 exams! ...some extra credits too!
The only reason to go to class is to get the extra credit answers for the test. He is not a hard teacher. His tests aren't tricky you just have to study hard. Overall if I took this class over, I'd just study harder for tests
This class is a joke. If you failed the first exam you might think about dropping because its not going to get any easier. Very hard what concepts he wants you to study and its easily to fall asleep in class. and he wont answer any question if its important.
It is very easy to get A if you memorize the concepts, in fact, the concept is not hard to understand. Just remember the concept, and go to class, you will get a good grade!
Professor Mike teaches very clear and straight forward concepts for each chapter, and there are example videos relate to the concepts during the lecture and classroom discussions. Exams are not that tricky like the online course exams as long you attend all the class lecture, read the book, and watch the coursestream you will be fine.
I'm surprised at all the negative comments about prof Albert. I have never had a professor who was so straight forward and honest. Other professors need to take notes!! Everything you need to know is spelled out for you on day one. There are no surprises, and the tests are easy. Study the concepts with minimal effort and you'll get an A.
The class is pretty straight forward. He tells you exactly what will be on the tests on the "Concepts to Know" pdf. Just study that repeatedly and go to class for answers to the video case questions and you'll do fine.
He tries to make the test and grading as easy as possible. He explains the material clearly, attendance is not mandatory. 2 midterm test, 1 final. all multiple choice. just read the book and come to class, you'll do fine. you can skip listening to his online lecture. Im not good in reading comprehension and I skip his class a lot so i just got C+.
A pretty good professor with lots, I mean lots of examples. He can talk your ear off with his in class lectures and the 75 min online lectures. The exams are easy if you thoroughly go over the study guides. He also gives extra credit. Attendance is optional but he shows video cases and there are questions on the test. He really pushes participation
This was my easiest business core class. He tells you exactly what's on the test, make flash cards, and you'll get an A. Mike is rude if you sit behind a certain row. In addition, he gets a temper, if the class doesn't participate in discussions.
Okay so i actually enjoyed this class, Mike is a little rude and something's he does doesn't make sense but everything is straight forward and very easy 3 tests, and his study guide very clearly reflects what's on the test do that and you've got a B. you don't have to show up but you miss out on the 3 free give away points for the exams, take him.
He sidetracks way to much in class its not even funny. He says its an easy class but the exams are confusing, and the first thing he shows you in class are the rate of students who failed his class which is not motivating. He's a weird person.
dont be afraid of him, he is very knowledgeable. make sure you know all of the things on the Concepts to learn list for each test. went to first class got A on first exam never went to class again and got C's for test 2 and 3. could have gotten A's if i memorized better. tests are tough and tricky because of flipped wording. but study the guide!!!
Students don't like Professor Albert because he frequently cuts off while others are expressing his opinion. To me, he was a very good instructor, an easy class with only 3 exams. TIP: Read the concepts to know throughly, the tests are easy only if you study. Personal Recommendation: Do not buy the course notebook. I saved $110
Not clear at all, refuses to take any constructive criticism, and will embarrass students in front of the whole class. Only has his job still because of tenure do not take
