this teacher seems to be cool but at the end his a total monster. he grades unfair and for this class he just gave about 3 A's and the rest D's. Who ever is taking this class or any of his classes be prepared to retake the class.

Avoid this teacher at all costs. He is rude and condescending. He's a slob.

He is a lazy teacher when it comes to grading papers

My worst experience ever in GCC math dept., I am an A student in every math class, but with him I pulled a C just to get it over with. He is not going over homework, tests are difficult, and no matter how hard I worked, it did not work. NOT RECOMMENDED.

This teacher sucks. He never answers any questions or explains anything: “we don’t have to time to cover that…” I think he hates his job. I didn’t learn anything but I sure made an effort.

He makes the class very difficult. His tests are very tricky, no matter how much you study does not make any difference. He has a very bad attitude and he is very arrogant. Everyone in his class are very upset that he makes his tests different than what we study in class.

Mike is a good mathematician. but he's a bad, unfair teacher. His classes are boring, have an iphone or smtg to get busy with, not to sleep in the class. He doesn't do anything to make the class fun so you enjoy. NO. Forget it. his tests are super HARD, and grades unfair. he looks like Zach Galifianakis from HANGOVER, nothing else is alike lol

Professor Allen is horrendous! I received a good grade because I taught myself. My classmates spent hours in tutoring trying to comprehend the simplest things because there was no explanation. If you can teach yourself take him and try to stay awake. He is also beyond unprofessional in his dress and I found it inappropriate and offensive.

I am not very good at mathematics to begin with and this professor is horrible. He is nice and all but i didnt learn a thing by him. he only payed attention to certain students and didnt help the ones that truely needed it like myself! me and my friends self taught from the book, i would have taken this course online if i knew id teach myself.

hes a horrible teacher he made the class into a self pace class. he doesn't teach anything in that class he puts you into groups and tells you to work problems and doesn't even tell you if your doing it right

He is the terrible!!!! save your GPA's guys! He does not know how to teach he is rude, mean, his tests are from his *** you can study all day and night still get a C or a D! PLEASE PLEASE think twice before taking him yuck I hated him.

He is a good man,but not good teacher. He can not explain calculus. He talks very fast. His testes are so hard. He can't explain math at all. Do not take him. He is a disaster.

Took him in Summer Stats. Worst teacher ever had. Impatient, rude, belittles the students. Doesn't cover what he tests you on, & grades unfairly. 10 of the students in our class complained because it was so bad. I've gotten A's in all of my math classes including another Stats class, so it wasn't b.c I didn't work at it. Studied daily, still got C.

Not recommend for his class. He likes to screwed a lot of students. If you want to learn and pass math take with someone else. On first day he will try to brainwashed you to stay in his course.

The tests are much harder than the homework and lectures. If the tests were like the homework, people would do a lot better.

He has test problems that aren't even in the book. And the problems that are from the book are the always the hardest ones. Seriously? We're not all math majors dude. First time ive withdrawal'd from a class. Next time I'm going to take these reviews more seriously before enrolling in a class.

If you need to take pre calculus and this is the only teacher, you're not taking pre calculus this semester. Only one student got an A in the class. Have you ever heard of a college professor that doesn't use a college curve? You'll meet one if you take this class. Seriously if you're even thinking about taking his class, don't.

Mike allen does only one example of each lesson and then moves on. He gives a lot of homework but honestly none of his tests match the HW questions. His tests are short but all tricky, hard questions. However he does give partial credit. but I don't recommend him at all.

He is truly terrible. If you want to succeed and truly understand mathematics, do not take him. His grading on homework is easy but he will take off at least three points out of five on a test question if the calculation is done wrong. For this professor, it is not enough for you to understand the subject. You have to do it his way!

I wouldn't take his class again. He does not care about students, takes off points from your test for no reason. His lectures are way too confusing and he jumps from chapter to another and back. His lectures are not logically coherent if you really want to learn math. His attitude is okay but most of the time quite sarcastic. Don't take him ever.

Very bad class. His lectures were very disorganized and confusing. He doesn't go section by section but rather groups things. Tests are 10 questions. A few solving while the rest are logical and proof based. Issue is that he won't tell you what to study or even what to focus on thats important. Only good thing is that he doesn't take attendance.

I took Mike for my math 107. this class was the worst class I have ever had. he really knows math but he is not a good teacher. around half of the class dropped it and I regret that I didn't. the lecture is so confusing. he talks so fast and unclear. what you get on exam has nothing to do with HW problems and his lecture.

Don't practice and don't do your homework because tests are not connected with them. Every test was just his imagination. If you are enrolled, it's time to drop him.

Obviously, he is not good at teaching at all. The topics he explains have nothing to do with the tests. He says the tests will be homework like questions but it is totally different. Plus, he is a tough grader and he will take off points for no reason! There are better GCC Math professors from whom you will learn. Simply don't take him at all!

Please do not take this class. He does not update grades. He grades very poorly and unfairly, he takes off points off of tests for no reason. He does not allow for makeup tests or homework. He gives a ton of homework but it is barely worth points and only gives around 4 tests per semester which are worth a good chunk of your grade if you do poorly

This professor teaches his students from his bed, doesn't grade fairly, and if you ask for a detail of what you got on a test, he won't give it to you, so really you are getting graded on how he feels like grading and will never know what questions you actually got wrong.

AVOID THIS TEACHER.... that's all I can say, he does not know how to teach, I am really curious how he became a professor FULL-TIME at GCC it's really sad we have people like him

My biggest regret is taking Mikes, class, I wish I never did. He very rude and a HARSH grader. I don't know how he is in person, but online he is just awful, who teaches this way... I barely passed this class.

Horrible teacher. Doesn't care about his students, has a horrible work ethic, and just generally has a bad attitude. I was one of the few to do well in his class during summer session, largely because I had taken calculus in high school. This guy somehow takes pride in being mean. Has deeply rooted psychological issues.

I don't tend to drop classes and yet this professor has managed to persuade me to do just that. At the start he seemed alright but after two weeks of the winter class I couldn't take it. Lecture's are confusing. REALLY short exam time (1 hour, and you spend 5 minutes of that hour writing out a paragraph about not cheating) and he has an attitude.

This professor seriously doesn't know how to teach. He's always going off topic during lectures and doesn't teach. He's all over the place. He mostly gives word problems on every chapter when most professors don't do this for math110A! And even numbers only so you can't even check your answers. Horrible had to drop

Listen to all the reviews and DO NOT TAKE this class!!!!!! The lectures and horribly disorganized, taking notes is also impossible, you basically end up teaching yourself and the tests are nothing like the homework. Save yourself and take another professor.

Words won't be able to describe the words I have for this professor. It's nothing personal, however, the lecture that he provides are pointless compared to the homework you're given. Even THEN, the HW he gives out, doesn't even help you on the tests. At that point, there's no USE in going to his lectures. You'll end up teaching yourself. Ugh.

Allen is incredibly intelligent, no denying that fact. While his input of knowledge is great, his output is questionable. Allen's teaching methods can come off as lacking, skipping crucial detail. If he could spend more time giving better amounts of that detail, he'd be good. Further down the line, he's sometimes aggressive. That can be fixed.

This professor is the worst I have ever experienced. He cant teach and has a bad attitude. The people who put good reviews are the ones that are super smart and have above a 300 IQ and think that he is the best. Avoid this professor at all costs.

Overall really bad teacher. He constantly talks about that he will retire soon which shows that he doesnt care about his students at all. Hes an easy grader otherwise half the class would fail. I was lucky to get an A. Im usually an A student but in his class there was multiple instances where I and others students didnt understand anything

This person needs enormous help. However, nothing can change him anymore. After he "thought" the last subject, we had a test the next day and a final the following day. He did not review material on purpose so that his students fail in class. I see a big issue between college and its students. TAKE YOUR MATH CLASSES SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

He is real bozi txa. run from him. He gonna play victim after students receive the survey from school and on the last day he will reveal himself.l Lats review day, he was threatening us to put materials from 110A and spend all time reviewing math 110A but we were math 110B.the hws he would answer 3 questions max from 10 asked and do half of each.

Luck is all you need in this class. Just hope he gives you a C because A's are not possible but half the class failed. Hope you pass this class, you are lucky if you do. Have fun with 20 hours of work a week in class and out of the class. He gives us at least 30 questions after every session that could take at least 3 hours to finish.

Mike is knowledgeable, but sometimes his condescending tone makes asking questions awkward. His lectures can be a bit all over the place, so if math isn't your strong suit, you might have a rough time. I ended up watching online lectures on youtube like most of my classmates. Unless math is a breeze for you, I wouldn't recommend his class.

The worst professor on campus. Think he knows everything but teaches nothing. You will have to teach yourself or know the math before taking this course. Thinks he is above everyone else.

This Professor doesn't lecture clearly. His textbook is all over the place with many mistakes that he himself gets embarrassed about during class. The answer key for almost each chapter has mistakes and the only way to get extra credit in this class is to CORRECT the professors mistakes in the textbook and answer key. He writes his own textbook.
