Funny and nice and makes math seem simple. Usually lets you out early and doesn't collect the homework. Tests are random questions taken from the homework so make sure you keep up with it. He is young and just out of college himself so he can relate to you.

I'm a complete ditz in math and I got an A. You dont even have to go and he only collects homework on test days. Only problem is he wont collect it after the test has started so if you have car trouble or something you're screwed. His homework is worth 20 points of the test grade so it will turn your A into a B on the test. Kinda sucks.

Mike is the best math teacher at MSJC. He doesn't rush through the teachings, and he goes over the test the day before the test. The only thing i did not like about this class was that he answered every students question regarding the homework at the begining of class. Most of the time it took thirty minutes, but it can take up to an hour.

Great instructor! I would never use another. Took an accelerated Math 90 summer course. It wasn't easy, but I earned an A. You're only graded on exams, but you will be lost if you don't complete the assigned homework. I found the solution manual helpful, but he doesn't recommend one, since his strategies aren't always by the book.

He made Differential Equations one of the easiest math classes I have ever taken. It's not because he made the tests easy (they were actually somewhat tough), he just does a perfect job of explaining the material. Grades tests promptly and is always eager to help. 100% of your grade comes from the tests, but you'll get over it. It's college.

You can tell he cares about helping you learn math. He gives you a study guide of the directions for each test question 2 classes before the exam to have time to study. He is open to any questions. I recommend taking him. Homework is not mandatory. There are 4 tests and a final. 200 points each.

Taking Calculus 3 and it is very interesting. Exams make up the total grade. Homework not required but recommended. Best instructor for Calculus.

Finishes the whole course material in the semester, he doesn't skip sections or chapters. His grade is exams and one final And mainly, even though calc is usually early in the morning, he's got the energy to teach at an extremely high level, and still have wits. Professor Beckham is one of those professors that can make Math class fun. Homework is assigned for each section covered in class but is not collected nor graded. His exam questions are similar to assigned problems so doing HW is paramount. If you're not sure about the steps he used to solve a problem, he will "resolve" it to help you understand.

I loathe math but with Mike, I finally felt like I learned. His teaching style was absolute perfection. He doesn't give homework, theres 4 exams and 1 final so you don't have the stress of assignments due but if you do the homework and understand what he is teaching you (which isn't hard so long as you pay attention) then you'll easily pass.

I know it says mandatory attendance its more like attend for notes and homework because he will not post anything to blackboard etc. however his lectures are extremely informative and if you have any questions even if you cant help but be vague he totally gets it and explains in the simplest and most encouraging way possible best teacher hands down

I had Professor Beckham for Fall semester for an third time, and he's a really caring person i will say he's a teddy bear when helping his students out with homework and exams. Professor Beckham is an absolute gem. I struggled with math since Middle School and have never had it "click" for me, until Professor Beckham's course. He makes Math understandable for everyone, he is genuinely concerned for his student's success and he's just an all around amazing human. I am a better person and student because of he and his class

A great professor, a great guy. If you don't understand the lecture at first, he explain and answer your question clearly if you go to him in person.

Overall a good teacher who is good at teaching students math-one of the best I've seen in around in 30+ years. Attend his classes and you'll understand the math processes and formats more and he goes over any homework questions on the white board before class (plus homework is not required to be turned in). The tests are easy if you come to class

He will answer every question you have and will make sure you understand the material before he moves on. He is super nice and has review days for every test which help out a lot.

Very Awesome Professor. I was able to follow the lectures and understand everything very well. He gave you the questions on the 4 tests and helped you with any questions.

Only 4 exams but if you keep up with the HW questions you should be fine on the exams. He allows textbook/HW use on exams, the only restriction is you have to work by yourself. The exam questions are similar but not exact to HW. If you're willing to put in the work, its an easy A. But if you don't have the time or energy you can maybe slide by.

Could have provided more examples. Homework was assigned but not graded. There was no extra credit. Your grade depended on three exams and a final. You could take the practice exams twice before taking the actual graded exam which would contain questions from the practice exams. You could take the actual exams twice and keep the highest score.

I havent been in school for awhile so I took this class as a refresher. I was super nervous because I hate math, but he did great at explaining the lessons and was easy to understand. Anytime I didnt understand something he made time for a virtual meeting to help me get it down. He is very kind and patient, you will not regret taking him.

There are no graded assignments in the class besides 4 exams that you have three attempts at. He also gives practice exams which if you take it twice, is the exam. His lectures are thorough and homework is optional for your benefit. He responds within a day, and does follow ups with you. He really cares, take him!

Was nervous taking on math since I haven't done so since high school. But his lectures were great. He's very thorough & shows everything step by step. Your final grade is only a few exams & he allows you to take practice ones twice. Other than that, no other work was assigned. Don't start lagging on the videos or you'll fall behind!!

He is the sweetest professor ever! Extremely understanding! HW is not submitted, and only has 4 tests! He teaching style is great and he makes the material EXTREMELY easy to understand! Watch the lectures and you will surely pass! He gives great feedback and a thorough explanation on things you may not understand! 10/10 would recommend!
