A smart ass sense of humor, that is pretty amusing. Tests come from the powerpoints and practice problems he assigns. Their is practically no reference to the book during the course, u don't need it. Study hard for the final it is the hardest of the 3.

This guy is one of the best professors in the COB -- if not the entire University. Sure, he's arrogant, but he has a right to be. Busing ROCKS! I wouldn't have wanted to take it from anyone else. Very helpful and WHAT A HOTTIE!

291 is a tough class. Busing somehow makes it easy. I am not a math person at all and I got an A in his class. Go to class, ask questions, and use his awesome review sheets and you'll get an A. He is also very helpful in office hours

Good professor. He's clear about what he teaches and seems to know what he's talking about. Also tries to keep the class energized at 8am with some jokes which keep us laughing.

So so funny, and really hot! He keeps you interested with humor and he tests what he teaches you. Do the problems, study the power points and you'll be fine. He's the most entertaining 300 teacher by far.

I love his jokes and how he makes fun of everyone. Very great teacher and loves hes job and his students. Take him out for a beer.

I don't know how he is as a teacher, but as a brother, he's one of the two best around!

The only teacher in the ENTIRE 300 roster that actually makes you want to go to class. His tests are exactly like the class examples. He does do random attendance, but you will want to go to his class. This is one teacher you actually learn from in 300.

I'm not sure what all the complaining is about. I think he is extremely fair and he seems to want us to succeed. If you study and look at his awesome review sheets, you will have a good shot at a "B" in this class.

Not that easy, but very helpful. I like his fresh style of teaching. I'm learning so much from his class. Yes, you have to go to class and yes, he's a p**** if you don't go -- so GO!

Interesting course. Very easy and tests are not very difficult. All you have to do is read the entire text book before the first day of class and you won't have any problems. All of this whining is very annoying.

I have Busing for 291 right now and he is hands down the best 291 professor out there. He's smart, funny, and even makes an 8am bearable. He tells you exactly what is on his tests and is glad to help you during office hours.

This is by far the hardest COB pre-rec. bar-none. This class SUCKS. Busing is a really good prof, though and knows that the material is really difficult. That being said, he trys to take it easy on you (thank god).

He makes it worth getting up at 8am.

Great prof for this class, explains relatively well and is more than willing to help during office hours. The review sheets for his test are fairly accurate and takes random attendance, but you really can't afford to miss much in 291. funny guy too

The person from 5/11 - you should probably not be in the COB. If you fail two exams, you deserve to be in trouble. Busing is great. Also, it's not a professor's job to recommend tutors to his/her class. GROW UP/CHANGE MAJOR TO ARTS/LETTERS!

The subject matter is pretty boring but he usually cracks a few sarcastic jokes to keep your attention. Helpful and a fair grader.

I had Busing six years ago. At the time, I thought he was a good teacher and very approachable. I called him the other day to ask about EOQ (of all things) and he was very helpful.

i laughed so hard i thought i'd cry; only class i've wanted to go to. busing kept it fun/entertaining; always in his office & he got better at replying 2 email. won't aruge test grades, u get what u get (must b a taurus) but i'd take another class w/ him.

Busing is my favorite class at JMU so far. He seems to like the standard normal distribution (all the z-stuff and process capability). He is fairly strict and sometimes tough but seems fair. "NO MORE BATHROOM BREAKS!"

WONDERFUL professor! Explains things very well and is incredibly fair (curves tests).Takes things step by step and makes the class fun and interesting (really random and funny). Very approachable and helpful and really gets to know all of the students.

he knows what hes talking about and you learn a lot..however hes not the easiest teacher...tests are difficult and the final is impossible, make sure you take lots of detailed notes in class and always do the hw and youll be ok

Well...I was in his office today and he helped me quite a bit. I'd say that he's one of the better teachers in Showker Hall. He's tough with exams, but I felt well prepared.

Cool professor. Made lectures fun when he made fun of Miller. Go to class and take notes on the lectures and you'll get a B. Practice and you'll do well on the exams. He's pretty cool. Drives a very nice BMW.

I heard him "make fun" one time -- it was something about not erasing the board and how he "isn't afraid of Miller even though the whole building is." Generally I found the class to be pretty boring.

hes so nice and the class is easy! I never really studied a lot for any of the exams and got A's on most of them. hes very helpful also

Busing is such a cutie!! He also helps to make 291 really easy and not so much the horror that everyone makes it out to be.

I definitely went for help in his office even though i didn't need it. If i wasn't a student i would have asked him out. (not that he ever made any advances) he made the boring subject of Operations Management actually really interesting.

Needs more experience outside of research and academia. Not a lot of imagination in his lectures, and very dry at points.

GREAT TEACHER! There cannot be enough good said about him - he really is a great, down-to-earth guy. Very clear on expectations & very helpful (even gives out random answers during tests!) The class itself is a bit of a challenge but if you work hard & take good notes during class, an A is not hard to get. :-)

Knows operations and tests fairly. Likes to make snide comments about random stuff in class, but they're generally funny.

Great teacher, funny as crap. Tests are very fair although the book isnt helpful. Powerpoint slides explain everything and test questions are fairly simple to understand. Pay attention to how to do problems and you'll be fine

Busing's one of my favorite teachers of all time. He explains things well and spends time with me in office hours. He's always able to make me smile at 8AM (wink, wink).

He is by far the best teacher Ive had at JMU. I am so glad I get him again for COB 300. If you can, I would recommend taking his course.

Great Teacher. Gives a broad view on material that is not exciting. Grades easy and fair. Fun class to be in and he gets your really involved. Right up there with Gallagher on my rating of JMU professors.

Dr. Busing is a great teacher!! I highly recomm. taking him. I failed his class b/c i sux at 291 and didnt read any of the material....but he is da man!! Take him for cob 291 and read the material, you'll do fine with Busing and his humor.

I wish that I had the chance to take him for COB 300. I have never had another teacher who could explain difficult concepts so well! Sometimes he's a little bit too eager at 8AM -- guess it's the coffee that he chugs during class (or is it?).

I assure you, it IS the coffee. He makes it very strong...

He does a good job of teaching difficult material and keeps it interesting. Do not rely completely on Excel, as the final requires that you work problems out by hand. The final is hard, but is curved. He grades fairly, probably leniently, on all of the assignments. Overall, good guy.

Good guy. Fun in class. The final is way harder than the first 2 tests.

Busing is dank. He gives great word problem examples in class - my favorite is the cash flow one - bonds & stocks. The dude knows his stuff! And, okay, he makes me laugh at 8AM! Get him for COB 300 if you can!!

I took Busing for June session and thought he was great. The class was pretty easy and he is hilarious. I used his office hours alot and thought he was really helpful. Great looking too!

awww busing is so cute! awkwardly lovable with really easy tests and quizzes just read the slides! you def don't need to read the book. no attendance but on random days he'll take attendance as an added bonus

I love Busing! Hilarious and actually wants you to do well in his class. He's one of the funniest teachers you'll have at JMU, but you'll still learn a lot! I COMPLETELY recommend!

Best professor this semester. He comes to class and teaches you exactly what you need to know. No filler. He seemed to rag on one person all semester (NATE). Also hits the gym religiously. First two tests are very easy but the final kills you. Still a good teacher though

I took this course lightly and ended up having to use a repeat/forgive. I will say if you put effort into Dr. Busing's class you will do fine/great. I think he is one of the best professors for 291. I wish (looking back) that I had devoted myself to this class because it would have been a lot easier. Study hard and be ready for the final.

Professor Busing, is a nice man and is absolutely hilarious. He is an excellent professor and prepares you well for exams. He gives you a study guide that is basically a blueprint for the exam. Easiest section for 291! Actually makes class enjoyable for an 8am!

Professor Busing is an excellent professor and prepares you well for all class assignments, quizzes and tests. Once you reach the final though you are screwed,the majority of the material he skimmed through or you had never seen it before. Easy C hard b or A.

COB 291 will be hard no matter who you take but Dr. Busing makes class worth going to. he makes little sarcastic jokes all the time and prepares you well for all the tests and quizzes.

Dr. Busing is the man! Easily one of the coolest profs in the COB. He's very helpful if you go to see him in his office hours. I bought the textbook but the only time I ever opened it was for one case study he took out of the book.

Busing is the man for 291. Way more helpful and clear than the other professors. This class is probably the hardest cob prerequisite and the sure fire way to do well is to get Busing.

Busing is the man. I had him for 291 and COB300 and would take him for all of my classes if I could. He is very helpful and will give you great study advice in his office hours. Take him if you have the opportunity. Not to mention he has the class laughing the entire lecture

Tests can be very difficult. Make sure you take good notes in class and do all the homeworks to know what's going on. Likes to give pop quizzes so know your material and keep up, don't put off studying.

Take!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are horror stories of 291 and the reason ppl dont get into cob is 291. he is super funny, and gives great examples and emails you all the hw answers, tests are multiple choice

Overall a great professor! Prepares his students adequately without going overboard with homework or projects. Lectures can be dull or on boring material but he always tries to make the best of it and makes class a little more bearable. Really helpful answering any questions either over email or during office hours.
