Class is great! I learned more about history than I ever knew before! I wish he would teach more classes than just this one. He allows us to choose essay or multi-choice tests. Very Cool.

What a great teacher! His lectures are very interesting; his tests were relevant and not too difficult. Great sense of humor, and I can always appreciate a guy who drinks a POT of BLACK coffee during his morning classes. I recommend him for everyone.

I have enjoyed his class. His tests are super easy and don't require studying. The quizzes are done to assure you read the chapter for that day. If you read, the quizzes are easy. I would reccomend taking him for history.

Other than being put off by some of his comments this was a very good class. I didnt touch the book once and came out with a high B. If you go to class he covers everything you need to know and his tests are fairly easy. Good attitude, and generally good instructor. Easy Easy Easy.

easy tests. go to the study sessions. The quizzes suck since they are every day but make you read. They also can be tricky and on random things in the text such as picture captions. Overall pretty easy class not too specific

great guy!! history's not my subject and he really helped me to get a good grade! hes a jolly ole guy and seems to care about his students a lot. he has a quiz at the beginning of each class but (his words to me) "if you just look at the pictures and read the titles of the chapters, you'll do fine" very good teacher!

he's not a bad teacher but gets off topic VERY easily and we are like 2 chapters behind where we're supposed to be. the tests are easy and so are the quizzes but you HAVE to read the chapters to pass the quizzes. his extra credit questions are ridiculous but gives 10 points to a test if you bring voters reg.

Mr. Depew is a great teacher. He is a very funny guy and goes off on random rants a lot, but they're usually interesting; they just have nothing to do with the subject. He wants everyone to do well and gives frequent quizzes, but HE MEANS BUSINESS. If you are late or absent on a quiz/test day, you must have THE FUNERAL PROGRAM to be excused. =)

Mr. Depew is a great teacher. The only thing that I didn't like about this class was the tests & quizzes were not very organized. He said they were one day, & they are the other. But he uses power points very well, study and read the chapters, you will ace the test. Overall a wonderful teacher he really cares about his students and is pretty funny.

Excellent teacher. Depew is extremely knowledgeable and has many shortcuts or ways to help you remember things. His class will always be energetic and fun. His test's and quizes can be, at times, extremely disorganized. Overall it's not a bad class to take.

Mr. Depew knows a lot about his topic. He is sometimes long-winded and doesn't always get through all the information for the tests, so the text book is essential. He is very interesting to listen to, but as many comments say, he doesn't cover material that will be on tests or quizzes. But the class is interesting and worth the time. You will get a lot out of listening to his lectures. He has a good sense of humor which keeps the lecture interesting and lively. I would recommend his class.

This class was extremely easy. Don't get it early because attendance is mandatory. You take tests at home and have the whole weekend. The 4 writing assignments are short, and they do not take a lot of effort. Easy, easy professor and very nice.

The class was super easy. Attendance is not necessary to do well on tests, but you do get a grade for it. I did not really enjoy his sense of humor, or the fact that he held class over for up to ten minutes. Maybe that's just because I had his class at 8 in the morning...

Depew is really nice and entertaining. I had him for a 9:20 and he always came in with a smile. The class is really easy you don't even need to take notes. Plus, you only really need the book to do your essay questions that are also really easy. I recommend him if you're looking for and easy A.

He is a great professor! He just lectures through the class period and every quiz and test you take online at home. He allows you to take the quizzes an unlimited amount of times and the test is the same questions as the quiz. Quizlet will be your best friend

Depew is a great professor. He always has a smile on his face even when he is sick. He gives you plenty of time to complete assignments and is very organized and punctual. He divides the work up into blocks. Each block is 3 or 4 weeks. His assignments are easy as long as you have the book. If you show up to class and do the work, you will do great.

He is a really great teacher. There are four sections of material that you cover. There are four quizzes, one writing assignment, and one test for each section. It is a really easy class. He tells you to get the book- DON'T, you don't need it at all. Everything you need is online. Never made lower than a 94% on anything.

Depew was a pretty easy A. The format of the class is really simple. All the quizzes and tests are online so Google will be your best friend. Never read the textbook, but there's a couple assignments from a reading or two in it. Lectures are pretty boring, but he is a funny person so you'll get a few laughs. The class is set up to where you have 3-4 quizzes and 1 paper due before you take each unit test. You get roughly 2-3 weeks to get all of this done. It's very easy to do if you are not a procrastinator. Most of the questions can be found on Quizlet so if you have access, study those for they really help and come directly from the tests/quizzes.

Depew was a great professor, i enjoyed his class very much. I took his online streaming class. All we had to do was stream into the class on time and he would say streamers needed to email the answer to the random question of the day and that is how we were graded for attendance. There are 4 quizzes, exam, and writing assignments for each of the 4 units. Everything is online and you get unlimited tries!

Depew was my favorite professor this semester, he is hilarious and very knowledgeable on the subject matter he presents. Out of every lecture of his I've been to I've only seen him look at what was on the presentation he was presenting a couple of times, that's how well he knows his content.

If you hate history, you will literally love his course because it is so easy and all the answers are on quizlet. He is super strict on attendance so you have to show up. He will pick on you if you sit in the front.

I had two write 4 one page essays in his class and they were probably the most challenging part. If you're looking for an easy A then I don't advise taking his class but overall I did enjoy it.

Yes, attendance is mandatory but Depew is extremely knowledgeable and keeps the lectures entertaining for the most part. Grade is determined by 4 exams (with a practice quiz for each chapter) and 4 writing assignments. Information on the exams actually comes directly from your textbook rather than the lectures. Highly recommend due to simplicity.

Depew is great! He has a very clear and consistent assignments schedule and it is a very reasonable workload. There are a total of 4 exams and 4 quizzes, along with a short writing assignment for each each exam. He is very clear about the due dates and gives nearly 4 weeks to complete assignments between each exam. Best history out there!

I really enjoyed Depew when I had him for both HIST 2010 and 2020. His opinions and lectures were certainlya breath of fresh air for what you normally get at ETSU.

Do not expect to skip this class. He starts to deduct points with each unexcused absence. He prepares you perfectly for the tests and quizzes. The writing assignments for each section are there to test your knowledge not to test your writing ability which is really great. Definitely recommend!!

The writing assignment is not about the writing it checks to see if you read the document. Attendance is MANDATORY. All quizzes and exams are at home. Overall a very solid professor. His lectures were detailed and he would gladly stop to answer a question if need be. Attendance is very important so show up. My main gripe with Depew is his occasional (right-wing) political injections. Besides this though, I highly recommend taking one of his classes for a fairly easy A.
