Well organized professor...makes the course easy to learn...
Did a good job with a boring course...
Great Prof! Emphasizes Important points for tests!
very clear, made it easy to understand
good prof if you study. Very nice guy
Excellent Proff - made the course bearable
Makes the material seem simple and easy. Fair grader. No freebies!
Knowes his stuff and knowes how to teach it. Plus he likes to give hints for exams!! Great Guy!!

Excellet Teacher. Best i've ever had. Good notes and good tests. Take his course.
Not a bad prof but doesn't make course easy.
This is the best prof. He is very helpful, nice and easy to understand. He makes this course interesting and enjoyable.
Really good prof. One of my best
Couldn't ask for a better economics prof.
Very good prof. If possible get him for whatever you can.
He is an decent professor. Knows what he is talking about and gives relative examples. But, he is not very enthousiastic and did not really interest me in the material he taught. DO NOT take a night class with him, if possible... too long.

good prof. gives great hints. no give aways though. get him.
Really nice guy. Not the easiest course but through no fault of his.
gives good notes and very fair exams
easy course, nice prof, VERY boring class though.
this course i hated with a passion but Mike made it seem better. he went out of his way for helping if you needed help. he is good
Great Prof! I Completed an evening course with him. He took a dry subject with potential to be boring, and he made it interesting. Excellent notes, and very helpful. Gives great hints for exams too!
Everything they said and more. He is amazing. No tricks up his sleve at all. I just got back from my exam and I was so impressed I had to write this. If I fail 2020 I'm taking him !
This prof is great. He makes everything very clear and will go over it till you understand the information. He gives the questions for the midterms and final in class, so all you have to do is know the answers and it's an easy A.
Excellent Prof...makes a difficult subject way clearer. Had him for 2010 in the fall and then took him again for 2020 in the winter..Really Excellent, Really fair way recommend!!
bs. This prof sucks. He will tell you "this will be on the exam" and then it isn't. He says "you dont need to know exact definitions" but then on a long answer question, he asks for definitions! And when you put them in your own words, they're wrong, what the hell? If you value your marks AT ALL STAY AWAY. THIS IS NOT A CLASS TO BRING UP YOUR MARK.
He is an awesome prof! Makes a difficult course much easier to understand! Def get him if you can!
pretty good I had him for both and did well no major complaints
Very hard marker, he told us to only study the notes and this is true, if you go to the classes and get all the notes all the questions will come from notes, however multiple choice were a little tricky, do the study guide questions but, KNOW the NOTES!
Though the lectures were dry and sometimes boring, he is clear in what he wants you to know, but gives somewhat jotted notes, so DON'T just READ THE NOTES, read along with your text, otherwise his notes will look a bit vague. I found it difficult to understand what he was saying when I had to copy down a LOT of notes, so read ahead. Overall Good.
wow worst teacher ever had, was sick for over 2 week asked him for help when returned he said she a classmate cuz he don't let ppl copy his notes, he tells you this is important but then don't put it on exams
Worst prof ever! Had him for 2010 and did not help at all! Stay away from him if at all possible.
Great proff. very clear on what type of questions are on the exams. he tells u during lectures if this is m.c material or long answer material, and this helps alot when studying. exams were fair. final was a bit harder, but thats understandable considering its about the whole course. very recomended
Def knows the material and teaches well however, class attendance is mandatory as he has you write piles of notes and does not have a website so you need a buddy if you miss a class. The first exam was easy, 2nd exam, m/c were a little harder and final harder still, but overall good prof with lots of knowledge in the field. note his blue eyes.
class is kind of boring. notes given are well organize and complete. explains and gives good examples. easy to understand. tests are difficult and not easy to score. will recommend to everyone though
I wasn't impressed. He does give good notes I guess. But he's HARD and his exams are HARD. Class is kinda boring. He doesn't seem to care about how students are doing in the course. Lots of graphs. Not taking him for 2020. I didn't like him. Take Wanda Wiseman!
He was good, provided lots of examples and his memorization techniques were helpful, however the final was a lot longer than it needed to be, to many long answers for a throwaway course. But the teaching was very godd
Makes you take notes like crazy. Class not very interesting but it's not his fault b/c it's dry material. If you go to class you could get high marks b/c he'll give you what to expect as long answers on midterms. Easy to lose marks through his multiple choice though.
The subject is not very exciting. He made it a little more interesting and easy to understand through the examples. He had 2 midterms which were OK and a hard final. All tests had multiple choice and a short answers questions, for which he tells you clearly what to study. Attendance mandatory. Writhing notes as crazy. Study hard if you want "A".
Good prof. Class is mandatory, as he gives out the questions for the exams in them, and does not post his notes online. But not much leniency in his grading, either you know it or you don't. -Fairly hard to get 85% and above.
UCC 2020 is a very easy course to get good grade in. Mike is a great prof to have for this course as he is an easy marker, he tries to have a bit of fun and give quick feedback to his assignments
Was a fair marker and the tests were not hard. Clear in class and fairly interesting for an intro course. Has very interesting eyes.
Dr. Doyle is an excellent prof. His notes are so well organized and his tests are extremely fair which makes it nearly impossible to do bad in this course. Make sure you go to class because he tells you the long answers for the exams and he makes the material very easy to understand!
He's a Great Prof. Going to his class is a MUST he doesn't follow the text book, but his notes are fantastic. He gives away all the long answers on the exams in class
AWESOME. YOU WILL LOVE HIS CLASS. YOU'DE BE LUCKY TO BE IN HIS CLASS.
This prof cannot spell, deviates from the book in his teaching, and if you don't give him a word for word definition out of a text book its wrong. Also, multiple choice on tests won't be given back to you so you have no idea what you did right or wrong. His notes are unorganized. The fact that this man is allowed to teach is absolutely appauling.
He is awesome! Attending class is a must as he puts all his notes up in class and you have to write them out. If you know all his long answer problems he gives and read his notes over you'll do fine. I've done a few economics course and so far hes been the best prof.
BORING> Luckily however, his exams are relatively easy. As others noted, you have to show up every freaking class, and take notes. You will be tired of writing down every single thing you see on the board, because notes are not available online.
The worst! No D2l or email for contact use, he uses an overhead projector for all of his notes and his examples are very unclear. Test wise he does no preparation or tell you what to expect, the book is a MUST for studying, he doesn't give back your midterm multiple choice and the 15 point long answers he hints about in class. Super frustrating.
Do yourself a favor, and don't get yourself into any classes with this guy.
You must go to every class because nothing is posted on D2L. However in saying that, his lectures are pretty interesting and he loves drawing a graph or chart for every single term he puts on the board. Tests consist of 25 mc and one 15point (short answer). He tells you every question on the exam throughout the semester, so go to class and listen.
He just reads off the slides the whole class. I can barely sit through a lecture it is brutal!! His exams are super hard as well.
Great prof as long as you attend class.
Would not recommend, test are extremely tough and multiple choice I found were not worded well. Does not post online notes so class is a MUST. Textbook very useful.
Didn't enjoy the lectures at all, very boring but it is hard to make economics fun. Definitely knows what he's talking about and his notes are great, LITERALLY gives you all the questions he'd ever ask so practice answering them and you're set for the exams. No online notes so class is a must.
I wouldnt recommend him. He is the worst professor ive ever been taught by. No d2l. Miss his first 2 classes if your late to join uni, you wont even get the course outline and he has no email you can reach out to. So, you have to contact the economics department. His lectures are very boring.
Very Unprofessional.
No feedback on midterms, poor teaching mechanism, told me I should drop the course after my first midterm. Overall 1.5/2
Test Heavy, doesn't post notes online, doesn't explain things well, unclear what is on midterms and finals, tough grader. Essentially if this course isn't something you shine in don't take him
Midterms consist multiple choice which can be difficult and unlike what was reviewed in class. He gives review questions at the end of each chapter which are nearly identical to the ones on the exams. Overall he is an approachable guy but doesn't always explain things clearly. Reads from slides which can be dry and doesn't use d2l.
Very nice prof. Gives very good lectures, lots of notes but they are very useful. Gives examples of practice questions that could be on the exams, very useful for studying. Exams are fair, multiple choice questions are hard, short answer questions are fair.
Doyle is good. Gives practice questions from each chapter that are very useful for his midterms and the final.
Show up and the class isn't hard. He tells you exactly what's on the exams and explains concepts well. He has good notes on overhead sheets so be prepared to write a lot down.
Mike doesnt make it clear what the will be on assessments or what to focus on studying. He doesnt make time to meet students, and if you see him after class for questions he is rather unhelpful. Doesnt use online, doesnt share notes, doesnt add anything to the class. If you miss a class, you can expect to never understand the concepts missed.
Mike doesn't use D2L so you have to go to class to get the notes but he basically tells you what questions you will have on your midterms and for the final you basically have a bunch of questions that he gives you and he'll pick like 10 to put on there. Really nice guy.
HE WAS AMAZING. I took him on campus for Econ 1010 and I took it as an elective and he made it so easy and interesting. Yeas you got to go to class as he does not upload notes online but his personality is so good, it's the first ever evening class I was regular with. Makes midterm and finals easy, gives types of questions in advance.
He doesn't use D2L so you have to go to class to get his notes. But he does gives lots of clues for multiple choice on the midterms/final and tells you the possible long answers (which are worth 15 marks) so it's worth it. Some things in his notes aren't clear and don't line up with the textbook but other than that he's a great prof.
His notes aren't exactly clear and he grades on two midterms and a final
Beware Doyle does not use brightspace or any online sources, if you want to pass the course you have to attend all lectures to get the material. Doyle gives all possible long answer questions for the midterms- practice those and you'll be fine. Both midterms consisted of 25 multiple choice and one 15 mark long answer.
Mike Doyle is an amazing macroeconomics teacher, he explains content and graphs very clearly using examples you can easily understand. He, however, does not use D2L for notes so even though attendance is not mandatory it is essential. His midterm and final were made super easy and short. If you want micro made simple take Mike Doyle!!!!
Doesn't use D2L, and isn't clear what he expects for an answer in his questions.
Had him for Microecon. While he has an upbeat personality, his lectures were often hard to follow as his notes contained of lot of sentence fragmentation and were grammatically incorrect. He doesn't use D2L, but gives good practice questions for exams. He often let class out early so people had time to ask him questions. Watch ACDC econ, lifesaver!
There isn't enough space for what I want to say about him, but let's just say that he's dry and has practically no teaching skills whatsoever. His notes are the choppiest that I've ever seen, and the book saved me for the final.
Nice guy, always uses real life examples which helped a bit but notes are illiterate and absolutely garbage. Often left lectures not understanding a single thing. Youtube and the ragan textbook helped significantly.
Impossible to get ahold of outside of class as he never answers emails and does not use d2l at all. It is necessary to go to class in order to get notes, and he did not keep track of the possible questions he told us throughout the semester for the midterms/final, so it was like going in blind if you missed any class. Would not recommend!
To call him a prof is a gross overstatement. All he did was read off slides, and explain vague principles quite poorly. For every one minute of explanation, there would be three or four minutes of silence, as we tried to decipher his notes. Doyle is dismissive to the point of rude when you need help, and his instruction is unclear. Avoid this prof.
Impossible to understand him in class because he very briefly explains things and then waits in silence as if the class will just learn telepathically. Also, the notes are in broken English so they're no help at all. He doesnt seem to pleased when asked for help and doesn't use d2l at all. Miss one class and youre screwed. He's not going to help.
Having taken intro to Macroeconomics online with Mike, he put 0 effort into preparing the materials for this class. All he did was upload the PowerPoint slides provided by the textbook publisher. The only assessments were tests taken from the book's teacher's guide. We were given no indication of what to expect from questions, only 'know the book'.
Basically handed us some slideshows and we were on our own.
you can barley call him a professor. he gave use a power point and that's it no videos or anything. if you can learn that way then take him, but I couldn't.
Mike is not a bad prof. You do need to go to class and read the book and his notes. If you don't, you won't pass.
Gives you slideshows and that's it nothing else, no direction. You're taking his class just to read a textbook and look at a slideshow there are no videos, no lectures, nothing! There was a total of 3 exams and 1 final with half of your grade depending on that final. Do not recommend.
Just a very absent professor for an online class. He doesn't provide review sessions, course recordings like Roxanne Preston. He just asks you to read and ask him or economics help if you have questions. No teaching no feedback. He is just there to oversee while computer system already grades all tests for him. I don't know what he actually does
Very absent professor for an online course. The only material uploaded were slideshows - they were provided by the textbook. There was no explanation given to majority of these slideshows, and if there was it was the TA (which I did find very helpful). The entire course was online, including three midterms, but the final was in-person and worth 50%
he seems like a nice guy and does reply to emails fairly quickly, however, he's not the greatest prof. maybe he's better in-person but all he did was upload slideshows online and was pretty silent the rest of the semester. as a student in his class, it's useful to make your own notes from the textbook. there were 3 quizzes and a final (in person).
The only issue was the exam... solid 30% of it was not in the slides he provided. no joke. Other than that he made the midterms and assignments (really just another midterm but unproctored) very easy to do well on.
Posted notes prior to lecture for those who were absent, respectful and funny although very few assessments
Mike is a very no bs guy that is easy to talk to. I struggled in his course but that was not on him rather than myself. The only things graded were 3 midterms covering three or so chapters each and a final that covered 3-11. He will not go over practical problems and will just read off the slides
