Mike Dulay is a very passionate teacher. I had him for the hybrid class. His lectures are very interesting.... and his tests come straight from the book. If you actually read the material and really understand what you're reading... you'll be fine.

Great class but it is difficult! You really have to study to be able to understand the concept. He inspired me to go into neuroscience. Wonderful teacher!

Mike expects his students to act like college students, meaning study, work hard and learn. He is willing to assist his students in reaching those goals.

holy mother of god this class is so friking hard. when i read a book which i dont very often i get an "A" on a test. i read the book toook notes on it and i got a friking "D". very very hard class.

Dulay was my first college teacher. Starting college in his class was dope. He teaches the material with passion and enthusiam. I would recommend him greatly, but I warn you he is hard.

He was also my first college class as a concurrent high school student. He was so fresh, it was so fun coming to his class. He's extremely passionate. He's not easy (I barely got a B) but it's nothing hard (I was just lazy). He's always there for you.

Great teacher! He is not a hard teacher. All you have to do is read the book! His tests are based on the book and if you read the material you will easily get A's and B's. Also go online and take the practice quizes the book has available!

he makes the class so interesting. i always looked forward to his lectures and he's a fair grader. his multiple choice test are hard though.

my 2 friends, my husband, and i had him for asian-american studies all in the same semester. i learned so much about other cultures and my own asian-american heritage! speaking for all of us, i think we really appreciated the knowledge. i reccomend his class if you really want to learn something.

Possibly the best lecturer at GCC. Very entertaining while still getting across the points he needs to give. Tests are difficult, no doubt. But if you really get into psych, its still possible to get an A. Made me want to become a psych major, too bad theres nothing to do after u graduate.

Great teacher who challenges you to learn. On the other hand, his tests and essays are one to make you cringe. Read, listen, and review notes is the best way to pass.

Love the class, great teacher, don't miss out on this class (and don't get scared away by the first week, all you need to do is have fun and enjoy the class instead of stressing so much about memorizing and grades)

He is a great teacher. A lot of people think that his class is so hard, but I think it was a great challenge and pleasure to be his student. I highly recommend that students take his class because he relates what you learn to what you see in everyday life.

This guy is the bomb. He is hilarious and you are going to love psych after this class. BUT its hard, dont kid yourself. But you will want to pay attn in class because he's so cool and relatable.

Easily the coolest teacher at GCC. He got me interested in the material and the class. Class was not as hard as others say it was. This was a fun class that made learning fun and I recommend him to anyone taking psych 101.

Not an easy A by any stretch. Though I did get an A in his class I didn't find it to be as hard as many people claimed it to be. Very easy to understand, fun to listen to, very knowledgable, funny. He is the best Psychology teacher in this school. May be the best teacher in the school. Tough but you will learn alot from him. Awesome teacher!!!

He was great! I learned a great deal from his lectures. However, he is not the easist. His real life example made alot of sense. If you don't want to learn about psych, don't take his class. Test are not easy and can sometimes be very difficult. Overall, I had lots of fun...not an easy class!

AWESOME teacher!! One of the best at gcc. Really cares about his students and actually wants them to learn. He is really understandable and wants u to approach him if u have any questions at all, always willing to help u. Gives great notes and makes the course really interesting. You also have to make time to read & study. Few gr8 teachers like him

Great teacher, difficult tests (50 mc, error correction essays). Its ok tho - his teaching methods are so well developed that you learn the subject whether you want to or not. 3 tests (drops the lowest), one short research report, 100 mc final. No Homework. Dulay's class is definitely one of the more interesting ones you will ever encounter.

WOW! I could probably write a book about this guy. Probably the most interesting class you'll ever take, especially if you like Psych. Even if you don't, he'll trip you out either way. He's the reason I chose Psych. as one of my majors, and that was before I even took his class. This is what college is all about. Take him if you want to learn.

His classes were fun, but his tests are very hard. He's a funny guy who knows his stuff & is willing to help out any student with a question. His tests prepare u for upper-division courses and for any1 who wants to obtain a Masters. Altho his tests r broad in scope, just study really hard & u'll do fine.

Dulay is a great teacher. He's tough, but definately fair, and his lectures are very engaging. You earn your grade in his class. The tests are hard, but they prepare you for higher division work. If you keep up with the reading and don't miss the lectures, you should do fine.

i took the hybrid class by mistake (its half in class, half online). very intimidating on the first day, but ended up being an AWESOME teacher. very clear on everything. doesnt act superior but comes to our level to teach everything he knows. no tests in this class. very approachable and helpful. i recommend this class!

He is the best teacher I have ever had! He is so passionate about teaching and helping his students. His test was hard but if you try hard, and talk to him if you need help, you will be fine. I just took his class because I needed it for my GE class, but I am so glad that I took his class! I even thought of changing my major because of him.

Dulay was the best professor I had at GCC, hands down. Yes, his class is challenging, but that's because he wants you to LEARN, not to just memorize and repeat information. And if you actually go to class, you will definitely learn. His lectures are both fascinating and applicable, and you can tell he's passionate about teaching.

He was intimidating the first day that I wanted to dropp it but I worked each week to get everything done therefore I got an A. He teaches great that each week you want to come back for more.

One thing I've learned on this site is: don't be deterred by students that say teachers are hard. "Hard" is all relative to your intelligence and work ethic. If you have above average intelligence, and/or are willing to compensate for a lack thereof with determination, you should get at least a B in his class.

Tough but fair. Doesn't give much homework except for an essay and a research paper. Other than that he grades based off exams. If you're good with exams and don't want to be bothered with too much homework, take this class. But know your stuff or you're screwed. A lot of reading, but info is covered in class. Make sure you show up or youll be lost

College is what you make of it and Dulay is a prime example. Though I learned about the world of psychology and all of its eccentric aspects, what became the most apparent value of this class was the expansion of my flexibility to view the world around me. In short me made me wiser, and not just in the academical aspect. The class is also very easy

Mike Dulay is the best professor at GCC. One of the best I've had ever. I wil audit his evening class just to participate. HE is the**** if you, like me, want to go beyond just getting a grade. I only got a C because I didn't deserve better. I didn't have time to participate fully.

Professor Dulay changed my way of seeing and probably changed my life. People make more sense. The common belief is that Psych 101 is pretty boring, but I will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again! I actually wanted to get up and go to class every single day. It was record attendance for me!

Mike Dulay is a cool teacher. He can relate to how it is to be a college student, so he tries to make things as understandable as possible. He is very helpful and really does want you to succeed. His tests are kind've hard because they aren't as simple as other tests. The textbook you'll need is "Psychology: Selected Chapters for GCC by Coon."

He is an exellent teacher. He is so helpful, I've never met a teach that went out of his way to help a falling student. I went from Failing to a B with his help. The subject is pretty interesting, and grading is very fair. This teacher is highly recommended!

Mike is a passionate, down to earth teacher. He is definitely not your traditional, textbook, scantron instructor. Refreshingly "out-of-the-box". Good guy, but you have to work for the grade. I'd recommend him to any aspiring teachers.

I only missed his class once and that was an emergency. He's not easy. I didn't work as hard as i could but i got a B. I slacked a lot too. Just listen to his lectures, no book

Mr. Dulay is a very good teacher. He is funny, he helps you to see the world from a different point of veiw, you will have learn something, and really into psychology. I would suggest to take his class by itself because there is a lot of reading, and his test are filling in the blanks. Mr. Dulay is incomprehensible explaining his class assignments.

best class ever!!! i swear, you'll never feel sleepy in his class. his very funny but you have to put a lot of time into reading the book. i took him over the summer and he gives a lot of free points. you just have to be there in every class because he gives exercises with points

The tests will be hard if you don't study for them, but he explains things very easily in class, and his lectures are entertaining.

The best professor I have met in my 4-year college life.Do not take in consideration the negative comments, those are the subjective observations of lazy folks.He challenges you to study & learn to be able to stand on your own feet for the future, which is the ultimate goal of attending college. If you're considering to transfer to 4-year college, majoring in psychology, MR. DULEY IS THE TEACHER YOU WANT TO HAVE. I took psych 101, 102 with him on 2002. His classes require work but his lectures are crystal clear and if you take notes and read the book you'll be successful. What you learn in his class stays and serves beautifully. Thanks!!!

I honestly regret taking his 5-week class... but ONLY b/c it was so brief. Mike is a wonderful teacher and an even more impressive person. His lectures were extremely engaging and fun and his class was reasonably challenging w/o being overwhelming. He provided extra credit on all his test and if you keep up w/ the reading you'll be fine. Take him!

If Psychology is your major, take his class. If your taking Psychology for a G.E. then take someone more easier. Thats my most advice.

Mike is the best. I didn't even want to miss a sec of his lecture. very smart, but friendly guy. you just have to take notes, and read the book, is that too much? and you can retake the online quizes like 6-8 times, and there are extra credit build into the grading.

He is really funny and makes class interesting. You learn a lot, but the stuff on the test is mostly important ppl and theories that he doesnt go over in class so you really need to read and focus on the readings, bc if not you WILL fail!! Tests are reallyyyy hard!!

Mike is a great teacher! He kept class interesting and I hated missing one of his lectures. I learned a lot I would recomend him before any other psch teacher. I took psch 106 and got a B I wish I could of took him for 106 also. I hated his final though its acumulative which killed my grade in his class =(

Professor Dulay is the best professor Gcc has to offer. His class was difficult, I admit, but it was worth the sleepless nights of reading and studying. I went in Psych to get rid of some units and came out with it being my major and Dulay did that for me. I would definitely recommend his class. He's passionate, hilarious, well educated! Loved him!

GREAT teacher, HARD class. study the book, become the one with the book -__- his tests are multiple choice, but half are pretty confusing. he's not organized, but at least he doesn't miss class.

Really amazing Professor and one of my favorites. If your major is Psychology, i definitely recommend him. Loved his lectures a lot and his notes were very helpful. Take lots of notes, pay attention to his lectures, look over the slides and read the book! It's lot's of material that you have to remember so schedule your time wisely!

Very lazy teacher. Teaching might not be his first priority due to the fact that he does other things on campus. Does not do what is expected of him as a teacher such as grading the tests on time. Does not reply to emails. His class is not difficult if you study and read the book for sure!

He has knowledge about the subject but his tests are difficult. In order to receiving an a in his class you will have to do a lot of studying and reading. Also, he does not grade the tests on time there for its difficult to know your progress. He does not do what is expected of him as a teacher.

It's hard not to like Mike. Possibly one of the least condescending teachers in GCC. Shamefully, as he is positioned on the chair, he won't be available to teach more classes. Highly recommended.

Great professor. Lectures are extremely interesting, you will definitely learn a lot. In order to receive a respectable grade I recommend keeping up with ALL of the reading and taking good notes. Review thoroughly before the tests and you should be good. I got a B in the summer session, it's not easy - but I'm glad I took his class.

Mike is a cool professor. I'm currently taking his 101 class n he makes it very interesting and fun class. He's fair, ready to help you if any questions.. Although I bombed my second exam, it was all my fault. Overall I think if you study hard and pay attn to his notes, you'll be fine. So I'd highly recommend him

Mike is a great professor overall, but he doesn't grade too easily, so make sure you do your part and study! His tests are fairly hard, so he basically tests to see if you really listen in class and do the reading/take notes. I got a D in his class, but I know I could have studied a little more, so I don't blame him. :0)

if you are not ready to study on your own, do not take him. his lectures are fun but nothing much after that. tests include things thats not covered in lectures. quizes have no relation to tests. overall 6/10

He is a great teacher during lecture he is very funny and gives a lot of examples that stick. Have to study hard his test require it-- test could be about anything. He does not turn in your grades in time.Nor can you reach him by email you have to go to his office hours.And once you can get a hold of him he will take the time and talk to you.

He is a great instructor whose lectures are both entertaining and informative. However, the tests are not easy so you have to read up on the vocabulary and take extensive notes from both the lectures and the book in order to pass the class with a decent grade. The work is cut out for you, but you must be willing to study on your own!

He taught many of us how to think about thinking.

Attendance was mandatory simply because I took his once a week class on Fridays. It was a lot of information to digest, but he gets to the meat of things. (Food references all the time.) Overall, he was really fun, invigorating, and a change from all the other lectures. Definitely did not mind sitting in a classroom for three hours on a Friday!

I took Mike's class for the Summer 2014 session. The lectures are entertaining, but reading is definitely required. Exams seemed like they were more on the material in the book than from lecture. The course was fast paced as summer classes usually are. Definitely learned a lot in 5 weeks. Mike's a great teacher.

He's a great professor and outstanding human being. His examples and illustrations for many psychological concepts are amazing! The book we used over the summer was so affordable which made up for the odd experience of not having a paper book. I think he's the type of person who excels at whatever he does, and his jokes are hilarious!

FAVORITE teacher. His class is lecture with power point. he keeps you interested and engaged the whole class. He is very easy to understand and follow during lecture. Not too much reading from the book. tests are mostly of in class notes and some book.

Class was memorable. Met for more than 3 hours, but it never felt like it. Its cool the way he tries to get cheaper books for his students.

Amazing teacher! I wish he taught some more psychology classes though. The only thing I would advise is look at the short answer and error corrections he has on Moodle. Those will definitely help with that section of the exam. Always made us laugh during lectures. Just all around awesome, chill person. I would take more classes with him for sure

TAKE HIM! 3 tests, 3 quizzes, one research paper and final. Class is composed of a lot of reading and he includes things from the lectures into the tests, so attendance is mandatory. He's funny and clear. The only bad things is that he takes forever to hand back tests and answer emails because he's chair for his dept.

really funny and helps you understand the material. His tests are a little confusing at times. A little slow on grading.

If this is not one of your major courses and/or you don't have loads of free time during the semester, I would highly advise against taking his course. His class is entertaining, but his exams are very difficult. He also had a habit of using a "big" word and immediately taking it back assuming the class won't understand it, which I found silly.

I agree it's not an easy class, but what do you "college" students expect? He's such a great professor and his lectures are informative and fun. I highly recommend taking his class, especially if you're a psychology major.

Best prof. @ Gcc. Looked forward to his lectures every week. Lectures were relatable. make sure to read book & notes. Gives extra credit. if you participate & show him that u are trying he does acknowledge that. Make sure to be able to relate his notes to real life scenarios. Kinda difficult but not overwhelming. Pay attention and you'll be fine.

This class was challenging, engaging and dare I say romantic? The way he describes the human condition and connections and how to be a better person or parent... Awesome. If you want to go a little bit deeper, Mike will take you there!

I took him for Summer 2016. I worked SO HARD to get at least a B. I was never absent or late. I wrote every single words from his PP & lectures, and reviewed for the tests. He's super nice. The only thing is that even if u get the whole lecture, the tests was super hard. If ur not a psych major, try taking another prof. Psych majors would love him.

I really liked him. His class is super cool. He teaches perfectly. However, his test are a bit hard. I took for short semester, which my work schedule it was hard to catch up with study plan that I had. But I would really like take his class again for a regular semster.

Mike is simply awesome.I took him on the winter and wish I would had taken him on a regular semester b/c his lectures are great. You definitely have to read and study . you have to earn your grade but he is very fair. His lectures focus heavily on what you are expected to write on the test essay and the reading on the multiple choice.

Mike is a top-notch human being. Lectures are unconventional and so much fun. The thing is... you need to read and also pick apart his syllabus and test structures. Look at the past tests he posts online!!! You can't rely on lectures alone, as he tests you from both the book and in-class content. The class was intense, but oh so rewarding.

Professor Dulay is my favorite professor. His lectures are amazing I actually looked forward to going to class every morning. I took him in the summer and wish I took his class for a full semester. You need to read in order to pass don't just count on the lectures. Other than that as long as you do the work and show up to class you will pass.

He's the head of the Psychology department at GCC so he's the best at what he does. Amazing lectures, and such an interesting class BUT don't take him over the summer, there's so much material to cover it took blood, sweat and tears to pass with an A. Know everything on the slides, and read the book, which he usually offers a free version of!

Hes an AMAZING professor! I highly recommend taking him especially if youre a psych major. YES his class is quite challenging, but you will learn so much! I wish he taught other psych classes, I would take him again in a heart beat!

I took Dulay during a 5 week summer course. if you plan on taking him in this short semester, you HAVE to have a sense of urgency. Read and review everyday, memorize your notes until you know all the information and you will get an A in the class. This is no cake walk of a course, but Dulay makes it so enjoyable that its worth your time.

I took his summer class and it was no joke. You have to do your part as a student. You have to come prepared, ready to listen and read the material and put it to heart. He is by far the best prof. I have met and he is very professional. He makes the subject easier and is willing to take a mile for you if you need any help. I highly recommend him!

This class is not for the faint-of-heart; you WILL WORK for the grade, and he will through-out anyone even thinking of cheating in his presence. Take full notes in-class and read the Openstax textbook. There is A LOT to study his exams. The exams: This class is university worthy! I cannot say so for most of the others in this campus.

I took Prof Dulay over the winter and he is wonderful. Psychology itself is just memorization and understanding what you're being taught. having taken this class in a 5 weeks period was pretty tough, but Prof Dulay knows his stuff and knows how to deliver. he makes the lectures very engaging and is very funny!

Professor Dulay has a great sense of humor, which makes learning psych interesting, but you have to work really hard for your grade. Be sure to READ THE BOOK, record his lectures, take notes & take advantage of the help he is willing to give (office hours, study guides, etc). As long as you work hard, you will get a good grade.

Professor Duley really knows what he is talking about. I didn't mind at all sitting in lecture for three hours. You do have to go to class because he gives random assignments that go towards your participation. He canceled class a couple times. If you listen to the lectures and read the book you'll be fine. The book is also online.

This class teaches you everything you should know for psych101. Prof. is funny and explains everything clearly with great examples to clarify confusing terms. His tests were difficult with many "trick" questions, so don't cram the night before exams and make sure you understand and don't just memorize. Overall, I enjoyed the class.

I took Psych 101 with Professor Dulay during the summer (remote due to COVID-19) and it was one of the best classes Ive ever taken content and difficulty wise. Even if you dont enjoy the subject, he makes it interesting with his lectures. He is very helpful and doesnt give useless, tedious homework. I would 10/10 recommend him.

Professor Dulay is very passionate in teaching and his lecture is very enjoyable. His tests are very doable and most of the materials come from his lecture, so as long as you pay attention to lecture and write good notes, then you will do fine. The lowest scoer I got was the final, which was 90%. I got over 100% on all the exams and quizzes.

Great professor but make sure to do your reading. Textbook is accessed online which is good. I got to admit I did not do much of the reading and only relied on lecture notes which was why I barely passed the class. Other than that, a very charismatic man! He for sure knows how to keep a class entertained but its important to do your part in reading

Amazing professor! Took him for honors and absolutely enjoyed it. His lectures are very interesting and he does a fantastic job explaining the material. There is a lot of reading but his lectures cover most of it. His tests are heavy but study hard and you should be fine. He is very caring and willing to help. Take him you won't regret it!

he's SO chill and makes class fun and engaging. he's sweet and will work with you on your grade. 4 tests online, in person final; roughly 35-40 mc and 2 essay questions. he writes his own notes and the tests come directly from the lecture and the textbook. attendance isn't mandatory but you will need the notes from that day. overall highly rec.

Very passionate in his field and hilarious. I think this guy never runs out of jokes and anecdotes to tell in class which makes every session worthwhile. He makes his own notes during lectures but the stuff in the exams comes mostly from the online textbook. Make sure to read each topic and don't rely on the notes too much and you'll be fine.

Professor Dulay brings great energy to the class with his jokes and anecdotes. The material can be challenging, but engaging with the textbook and attending his lectures pays off. unstuck AI was super helpful for exam prep. Overall, a rewarding class if you put in the work.

Overall a great professor. He's very passionate about his work and provides humor and interesting stories related to the topics throughout the class. The tests were on canvas, as were the quizzes, however, the final was in person and was by far the hardest part of the class. Make sure to do the reading and take good notes and you should be fine.

Pros: Captivating lectures with a professor who clearly loves what he does. I'm not sure how anyone can get less than an A in the class considering he grades fairly and drops your lowest exam score. The small classroom size allows for more engaging learning and connection. Cons: Disorganized, changing syllabus, and inputs grades last minute.

Very interesting lectures, just don't mess around in class (talking, being on your phone, etc.). Attendance is really important since he doesn't post notes or anything and sometimes gives in class assignments you can't make up if you missed. Exams aren't actually that bad if you pay attention. Make sure to take notes. No homework. Super funny too.

Amazing professor! Lectures are perfect and very clear, but they aren't enough for the exams—you must read the textbook. The tests are hard and he is a tough grader. I didn't pass because I overloaded my schedule and lacked study time. Don't make my mistake! He's a great person and teacher, but be ready to work hard for your grade. 10/10.
