Mike makes taking a college class fun. His approach to teaching is to have fun, interact with the class, know each student by name, and in the end you really do learn a lot. Both classes I have taken with Mike were easy but a lot of knowledge was gained.

Mike is the man, he always gets us to interact in class, and i always learn something new everyday! If you need a good teacher then take Mike Dunn for your COMM classes, He got me to sing "I Feel Pretty" In class!! -Greg

He has a very unique way of getting you involved. this is the second time I've taken one of his classes. If you do the work, you're pretty much guaranteed an A.

Mike is incredible. Makes class fun as well as informative. You learn to consider the opinions of others. A totally caring and considerate man. APSU would is insane for not making him full time tenure track.

I highly recommend Mike Dunn for any class he teaches, whether it be Public Speaking or Video II. I've dropped the same class with other professors just to get into a class he teaches. Make like George Bush Sr. and "read my lips": take Mike Dunn as a professor and thank me later.

I have just heard APSU allowed this professor to leave, and that was a BIG mistake. This man was unbelievable! Smart, inspiring, accepting, funny...One of the FEW classes where I never wanted to miss a day, because i learned so much but still had so much fun at the same time. Best professor I ever had. Get him back APSU, hes missed by us all

I am praying that APSU finds a way to keep Mike. He is a great addition to the faculty. He really cares for his students and that makes a difference. People want to learn amd he makes you believe that you can learn. PLEASE KEEP HIM!!!!!

Very great teacher. I hate speech but he was really fun! I took it in the summer though so maybe that led to the lack of difficulty. :) to bad he doens't teach calculus.

Very Kind Man. I wish he could teach all of my classes. Everyone should have the experience of having Mike, he is funny, kind and smart. Everything you want in a college professor.

He was wonderful and cared for all of the students! I wish he were still here. It is a sin to let someone of his caliber get away. I hear he is still on campus somewhere though. I sure hope he returns to the classroom soon.

I took this class in the Fall of 2009 it was a great class and the professor really cares about the material and his students. Not to mention he had a smoking HOT graduate assistant that was in every class for eye candy purposes. Guys take his class class

Great guy! He is extremely kind and generous. There were times I would see him on campus very late (the man never goes home). Sadly he's not on the schedule for COMM 1010 in the spring, oh well I'm glad I had him this fall

Loved him! Easy and fun class! he made me actually not want to miss a class!!! Will let you make up speeches and gives extra credit. ( so make sure you show up to class bc you will never know when he is going to give extra credit for just showing up to class!!!)

Mike is great! APSU 1000 is a breeze. He has been there to help me in every way even before I even started attending classes at APSU. Any bumps in the road and he was able to help smooth them out! I am very excited to be taking his Public Speaking class next semester! I am very impressed with the fact that he knows ALL his student by name too!

Great professor, really enjoyed his class. Took the 8 week course and loved it. He likes to goof around with the students and we never used the book. We had the mandated speeches, but he was really good about giving you an easy A. Just put time and effort in the class and you'll easily pass.

I love Professor Dunn. Its easily my favorite class this semester, and I actually enjoy waking up at 8:30 to go to class. I will always choose him over any other professor if possible. It will be sad when this class is over

Mike is sooooo kind! He helped me with my History class and my math class (although I don't recommend his as a math tutor lol. I feel like I learned a lot in class. It was kinda sneaky on his part because you leave class and think oh wow I did learn something about speaking doing one of the crazy assignments he made us do.I would love to take more

Professor Mike is a wonderful person. He really cares about each of his students and their success. He is so awesome. Everyone should take him and he knows so much about the Communications field and will really help you. His assignments are fun and educational. I am taking him again next semester!

Love this teacher. He is a very funny guy and makes you feel comfortable about giving speeches. However, he seems to have a hard time controlling the class if they get loud/talk during other's speeches. Other than that, TAKE THIS TEACHER. Especially if you have a hard time with speaking outloud. He will help you.

Mike was one of my favorite teachers ever, hands down. He's always willing to answer questions, no matter how silly. Mike was great He does love group work, which sucks sometime, but it turned out alright. If you can get him off topic it's usually very funny, however, he has this unique ability to bring everything back to the subject at hand. I don't think he takes attendance, but he notices if you don't show up. Doesn't mind if you miss here and there, just don't make it a habit. Tests online, book can be used. Easy. Easy assignments. Lectures are funny, he goes off topic but always gets back on. Nice guy. Easy class. No reason to fail. He likes group projects.

There are not a lot of tests and they are all online. They are fairly easy if you use google and the book. He even encourages it. There are group projects as well and group presentations but these are fine and not graded harshly. It was an easy and enjoyable class.

At first I was nervous about taking a speech class; however Mike Dunn always broke the ice with a joke or a story that got the entire class laughing out loud before you gave a speech. He is a very easy professor. All you have to is show up to class. You don't even have to listen to his lectures to do good on the tests because there is only 3 and they are all online. We had a couple of group projects but they are very easy and you have plenty of time to do them. He is a very easy grader and an easy A. I would take him again.

Mike is definitely an amazing teacher. he is laidback, and he isn't strict. The only time you can't have electronics out is during presentations, other than that, you are fine. He is easy to talk to if you have any questions, and he genuinely cares about all of his students.

Amazing prof! Took over for Rebecca Nanney about halfway through the year and made class super fun and engaging. He's so funny and likes to talk about topics of public interest. Never met someone who didn't like him!

Dunn is a true asset to the Comm department. I'd take anything he teaches. He's that good. He gives real life lessons and connects the content to real world applications. There are case studies to do that are pretty straightforward. Next semester, there will be a book used.

Interpersonal Communication could be tedious and boring. But it isn't with Dunn. He uses stories and movies to show how we can communicate better. Awesome class. Amazing professor.

Professor Dunn is seriously the best professor I've had at APSU. I took his class online during the summer semester, and I'm glad I did because he makes summer class do-able. Each week includes a couple quizzes and a couple powerpoints to review, every 4-6 weeks there is a test, and there is 1 major project. HE WANTS YOU TO PASS! Just do the work.

Professor Dunn is one of the best professors I've had at APSU. I enjoy his class to the point where the work doesn't feel like work. He cares about his students and wants you to pass his class. I'd take all my classes from his, if I could. Word of advice: sign up for anything he offers. His classes are stress free. You won't regret it.

Professor Dunn has taught many courses at APSU, but Interpersonal Comm has been my favorite so far. Although the class itself isn't rigorous whatsoever, he highly encourages students to engage in discussions and showed a few inspirational/funny movies that relate to the content. I wish he taught more courses so I could take them all.

Honestly one of the best professors I have had. Is his class hard no, it's only a level 2000 class, but still. He is one of those professors who makes coming to class enjoyable. He's hilarious and has "out of pocket" humor that is funny but somehow always relates it back to the lecture. Taking him again in the spring.

My Intro to Mass Communication class professor is fantastic—fun, helpful, and truly cares about his students. Every Friday we explored different media, and there were no heavy assignments—just a short midterm and final. The class has a positive, welcoming atmosphere with great open discussions. One of the best professors at the university!

Professor Dunn makes Interpersonal Comm engaging with stories and films. While the content can be dry, his teaching style keeps it interesting. I found unstuck study helpful for review - along with the free textbook, it saved me time prepping for exams.

Dunn's class is a very easy class. The speeches were never hard, and I always got a good grade on them. Plus, he is always in the best spirits.
