Fun class, one of the best I've taken! Lots of extra credit opportunities.
quizes easy, lots of extra credit, but very very boring.
pretty easy but boring. fell asleep though lots of the classes after mid term, didnt read a page of the book just listned in class and went to most extra credit field trips, got B+ in the class
very easy over winter so u can go to all of the extra credits helps a lot
very easy instructor. class lectures often boring. offers many extra credit opportunities. didnt really use the text. tests mainly from lecture
Fun class, very easy, however still requires SOME work.
Dr. Eberts is a cool teacher. Some of his quizes are a little hard but if you do the EC you will pass the class. Thanks for the Field Trips Dr. Eberts. :-) Anna Banana. hee hee
It's a very easy class. He offers a LOT of extra credit so you can wing it during the semester. Class is very boring though, so you want to sit in the back and bring homework from your other classes.
EXTRA CREDIT GALORE! just attend a few of his field trips and you're set! Tests are kind of tricky but once again, the extra credits can cover for those. No work done at ALL in class which is awsome.. almost nevvvver need the book.
although he appears quite dorky, dr. eberts is great. he involves his students so it's just not a one man show, but also lectures on things like videos and powerpoints. there is a tremendous amount of extra credit too, so go for it!
Didn't like the class at all...He could have made the subject so fun, but instead all he did is lecture and interact with selective students....I went into the class thinking this is going to be fun, but it was the exact opposite.
HE IS THE EASIEST TEACHER IN THE WORLD. the subject is easy, he gives LOTS of extra credit.
Eberts' class is a ton of fun. Lots of field trips, interesting lectures.
Great teacher. Easy A class. Don't waste money on buying a book, you won't open it. Take notes on videsos and his lectures to do well on the test. He gives extra credit on tests and lots of extra credit for fieltrips which are fun and interesting.
Mr. Eberts is a funny guy. This class was really easy, we never even cracked open the book. Just pay attention to the lectures and you'll be more than fine. Also pay attention to the Media Notes, they end up being EC on tests.
His class is very interesting but his jokes are so stupid that you just can't resist laughing anyways. His midterm was annoying, but you can get a lot of extra credit from trips and SI sessions. So cool class and good teacher.
Easy class. Bad jokes that are funny anyway. Don't wast your money on the text book. Just take notes in class (especially the media notes) and you'll be fine.
he is clear on what he wants, just take goog notes even the media notes, i never opened my book so if money is an issue you really sont need the book, every quiz and test is on his lectures
THE EASIEST TEACHER EVER. GIVES NO HOMEWORK. YOU DO NOT NEED THE BOOK, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS TAKE NOTES AND GOTO EXTRA CREDITS.
hes a cool teacher... loves what hes teacher and looks like garfield
Hes just a jolly guy. Very nice teacher and fun fieldtrips. Do exactly as he says and ull do good in the class. Go to fieldtrips
I really dreaded walking into this class every morning because I didn't think he was a good lecturer and he made the class very boring. He expects you to have credible sources for your essays and there is also a pretty large amount of reading.
If you attend the S.I.'s, review your notes, and show up for tests . . . you can get an "A." The S.I.'s are awsome. This can totally up your GPA if you are willing to slightly apply yourself.
If you have any interest in Los Angeles history and culture, you'll totally dig this class. It's small and there are lots of field trips.
u think he is an easy teacher, but believe me he doesn't know hoe to teach and he SUCKS, his class is very boring and his grading sysem sucks too
All you need to do is take notes and go over them and youll get an "A". Hes truly easy, although sometimes the class can get a little boring its easy to Ace.If you want to get a general overview this would be the class to take.
Although, Mike Eberts has an effective way of displaying notes on power point it still does not help. The problem is that he displays the notes too to where you cannot copy them down in time the short time given.
Eberts rules so laid back and interesting type of class
very boring class.not a good grader indeed.
the class is very very boring. he goes through the powerpoint notes too fast. his grading system sucks!!!
HORRIBLE TEACHER! MOST BORING CLASS EVER IT'S SO COMMON SENSE YOU DONT WANT TO PAY ATTENTION TO IT. BIG WASTE OF TIME.
ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME TAKE A PILLOW OR SOMETHING CUZ ALL YOUR GONNA WANT TO DO IS SLEEP
He's hard and easy at the same time...if your alert and understanding the lectures..youll be fine..if you dont take notes..dont plan on a good grade...gives extra credit which reallly helps your grade...i got Ds on all the quizzes and the midterm and got a B in the class from the extra credit!!
This class was INSANELY EASY! All you need to do is take the lecture & media notes. Study those and youll get A's on the quizzes NO PROBLEM! Eberts is a really nice guy, but like everyone says, he does get boring. Overall, he is really passionate about what he teaches. EASY A and will help your GPA!
He was a really nice teacher although the class kind of went by slow but if you don't pass the class or you get a D, you're a dummy.
Mr. Eberts is a cool guy with cheesy jokes. He's liberal, so i related well. His mustache does get a bit lenghty at times and all i could think about was shaving it off. i just wanted to see how he would look witout it (i think better)
MComm101 is a really easy class. Mr. Eberts was very helpful and nice. You have to take good notes and study them! There is not much reading involved b/c he goes over most of the chapters in the book. Attend the field trips and the SI. The tests are easy and it's an easy A!
I had him for a computer course. He didn't teach anything. I didn't learn one thing in that class. The guy is from outer space. He was all over the place without being anywhere. Unless he has changed since I took him don't take him. He speaks perfect English, but you don't understand what the h*** he is talking about. Another professor getting paid
He is a very good teacher.
i actually like mass comm itself, but this is the most boring human being you will ever encounter. he is extremely dull, and he's not helpful at all. he is **** and very biased in his grading (essays). TERRIBLE class!
Mike Eberts is a dedicated Professor, who does what he can to help a student succeed. Participation in all aspects of the class are not required, but if you want to grow I recommend you participate. Field Trips help make the class enjoyable, and thought provoking. Peace...
I will admit this guy is funny, but in the social studies class...he seems to be very detail oriented, which could be boring. Its hard to keep up if you dont understand.
Mr Eberts is a boring and corny but funny teacher, the videos can get dull and not that interesting of a class but its a requirement I finished with a ''c''
This guy rocks. He is corny and does his best to keep you interested. But you really have to pay attention during class since quizzes and tests are based mostly (though not entirely) on lecture. Field trips for extra credit, and easy easy A. Highly Recommended!
easy class but very boring teacher. easy A just go to his field trips and attend class and take notes.dont need much of a reading. i didnt even buy the book for the course. by the way the field trips are fun. he takes roll at the end of the class. easy research paper due at the end of the semester.
MC101 was the first college class i took. i took it during summer and im glad eberts was my first college professor. he really tries to get the class involved and is dedicated to teaching. he has powerpoints he lectures off of and if u pay attention, ull do good in class.
wow, where do i begin, the quizzes have nothing to do with his lectures AT ALL. and if you get a 13/15, congrats u have a B, and he goes by lettering not points, skips through notes, says quizzes are 5% of grade and essays are much more but thats not true cuz i got an A on the essay and he created a grade out of thin air. NO ENTHUSIASM, NO EMOTION!
HES DA BESTTTTTT!!!!! I wish everyOne was LIke hIM!!!!
Mr.Eberts is a fun teacher, he's funny and makes the class interesting. As long as you pay attention in his class, the quizzes and essays are pretty easy :) He also gives his students time for make-up work, I highly recommend him for Mass Comm 101!!!
The only thing I can remember from his class is, he's so boring that I can't even pay any attention in the class. Oh..and I remember his field trips, we went to LA TIMES building and Jay Lenon show taping...that's it.
real boring lectures but his tests and quizs are simple. Easy vocabulary and simple essay questions.
Its not an easy A. The lectures do not go with the quizzes. He is the most boring human being on Earth. A lot of people get D's on his quizzes, even if you attend the SI its not much help. Expect to read the book and listen to his boring ass in order to get an A. OMG SOOOOOOO BORINGGGG!
most boring and is a dumba$$ hope this will be easy..
straight up he is a teacher that knows a lot. he knows everything you need to know. he trys to get class involved which is a good thing. he can talk for a long time and get boring but doesnt matter because all his notes are on a website. you can just sit there in class if youd like. very easy. didnt do so well on my first quiz though. need to study

The Mass Comm 101 class is easy if you read the book and pay attention during lectures. The SI is helpful if you don't understand the subject, it Doesn't help for the tests & quizzes. I don't like him personally, but he is an OK teacher. I think that his quizzes are easy and there are lots of extra credit assignments. For a college class, it is EZ.
good teacher but extremely boring.....you can hear the clock ticking......but again, he's a cool guy....
BORINGEST CLASS EVER! i cant emphasize that enough. his quizzes are easy if you know your vocab. everyone always does poorly on the midterm. he has a research paper, which is a pain. fantastically boring. not too easy. not too hard...im sure there are better teachers for this subject.
Yo, here's da 411 on dis clizzass. #1.Read the book. #2 Participate in class. #3. Listen to the lectures & #4 take notes.Do all of these things and you will get a good grade.I got an "A". Eberts is a good guy that tries to get the class involved in discussions. The class fills the IGETC requirement and is easier than the other social science classes
never studied.. he gives so much extra credit opportunities.. easy A
Professor Eberts is an extremely fun and interesting teacher. He can make the most boring topics fun. I highly reccommend him.
I can't stress boring enough! The only communication taking place were the sounds of students snoring! Sorry, Eberts! =/
HMG! this teacher rockes. Im telling you if you go to his class and pay attention you'll get an A nomatter what. Recommended.
I was excited to take this class but he totally disappointed me because he made it uninteresting and boring. his lectures puts people to sleep but he is a pretty nice/cool guy. he takes roll everyday so make sure to go to class, take notes and do the reading. his quizzes are easy if u read. lots of extra credit field trips
Stick to his notes and youll do well. Although he is boring (unless your major is in communications) he is a very nice guy and an easy grader. A lot of Field Trips that are Extra Credit, helps a lot if he sees you there. ill give him a B-(84%)
great, clear teacher
He's a very nice guy who wants his students to learn. overall the class is easy but you should attend all his field trips and SI's. I got a c on my first midterm and then a b on paper but i ended up with an A in the class. take him but be prepared to work hard.
This teacher is soo easy just go to the field trips and ull get an A. his class is really boring half the pple dun come and the pple that do come just sleep in class. his test r soo easy all u have to do is listen to him talk while ur sleeping and read teh book 1 time b fore the test. If u dun get an A in his class ur wack and dun belong in college
best teacher u will ever get! just go to all the field trips and do decent on everything else and you will get an A!
I'm almost sure he wouldn't read this... I still have to say that the guy is very helpful, fun to be around, and a character to say the least. Easy A. Just do what everyone else is saying: go to some field trips. Also go over the the notes on his WebCT page and you'll find all that will be on the test. I did these things and came out on top.
Take him! He is great. Very help and kind.
He is a great professor guides his lectures on power point images. Everything he lectures is on his exams. Gives plenty of extra credit to deserve a great grade. Take this class...
i love eberts. he's awesome. he really is a nice guy. he's very helpful and wants his students to do well because of all the field trips. you should go to all the SI's. very helpful. im gonna miss this class
Mike is all right. He opens each class with interesting media notes (some current event regarding media). Remember these for EC during tests. His PowerPoint presentations in class are easy to follow and very helpful. He grades fairly and offers many fun field trips to boost your final grade. I suggest going to as many as you can. Read for the "A"
mid term is hard
I AGREE WITH THE COMMENT BELOW ME, YOU GOTTA READ FOR THE A CUZ I DIDN'T READ AT ALL AND I GOT THE B. ANYWAYS, THIS CLASS DOES TEND TO GET BORING AND PEOPLE HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO GET VERY SLEEPY LOL COUGH COUGH ME BUT UM YA JUST GO TO CLASS PAY ATTENTION TO THE MEDIA NOTES, POWERPOINTS, AT LEAST SKIM THE CHAPTERS, AND DO THE EXTRA CREDIT!
Great professor; he cares too much about the students; He also gives lots of extra credit opportunities which come from field trips and the medianotes. You have to ofcourse study for this class; it's lots of chapters (i think like 20 chapters). Take him if you want an A. Thank you professor Eberts!!!!
=/ Eberts, Eberts. I love him, he's such a great guy but I wish my class was not in the morning lol. I really liked his media notes because they are interesting; however, the powerpoints are a little too long. Just attend extra credits, READ THE BOOK & you'll get a good grade.
2 1/2 hrs of straight note taking. notes are a must! unless u want to read the book. its pretty boring but he's nice. quizzes are a bit tricky + only 15 questions. midterm was ok. i think the only killer is research paper and final. im not sure how hard he'll grade the paper but im stressing about it. hopefully he's an easy grader lik most ppl say
Best and fairest instructor ever. Will work with you and has very clear, precise and interesting powerpoint presentations.
Before taking this class, everyone told me it is easy to get an A. Take this class if your willing to read the book and go to all the field trips. Make sure to take him when he teaches a hour long class. Make sure you dont take the hour 1/2 class because you will end up not going to class like i did.
This class is boring. Most importantly, it is not as easy as every one says it is.Plus, You really have to study for the midterm.
He one oh the best teachers at GCC.He appreciates the hard waork that you put for his class. He also understands his students' needs.I just recomend you to take his class and attend all the field trips. And you will be fine. Thank YOU Mr Eberts.
Very good teacher, would definitely take him again
He is a great teacher. Makes a lot of corny jokes but he is very chill and nice. Offers several (some fun) field trips for extra credit. Quizzes and the midterms are pretty easy. Absolutely no use for the book DONT BUY IT. Just take notes (all on powerpoint) and you should be fine. A fun class!
this class is easy and you learn a lot. i give eberts two thumbs up. as long as you study the notes, you're set for the tests. the field trips are easy ways to earn extra credit. there is one essay due during the semester and its super easy.
hated this class. you need to sit in the front, participate, attend all field trips, get good grades on test/quizzes. lectures are very boring and same everyday. im on the deans list but i got a C in his class. not my subject
all lectures everyday are on powerpoint, you don't necessarily have to write them because the whole class is mostly common sense. i found it to be extremely easy and interesting because you can easily relate to the topics (contemporary music, new gadgets, and iphones). i didn't go to any field trips and still got a good grade. highly reccommend
Boring class, very boring. Pretty easy, you dont need to take any notes at all if you participate in lectures. But, reading the book guarantees the A. Eberts is OK, not the most exciting teacher, but he tries. Just a mediocre class. Not hard at all, but if you have other options, look into those. Still, easy, shouldnt get lower than a B for sure.
easiest class ever. honestly, tho you learn, its much better if you take a more fulfilling class. not the greatest, but if youre still interested take it cuz theres a lot of extra credit and you cannot not get an A. as for him he doesnt seem to like teaching or student, but slowly he grows on you. btw dont need to buy the book just study the notes.
He's really nice, the class is easy. I did the reading, went on the trips and did well on the tests. Loved the class. Highly recommend it!
Yeah, he could be pretty corny sometimes, but that's why I liked him! I have a lot of friends who have the same "purposely corny" humor he does, so it was fun having him teach the class to me.
Lectures can get a little boring sometimes...however, he does try to be funny and make the class laugh...i thought he was an overall good teacher...material is not hard at all..but read the book for sure and go to the extra credits there is so much offered...overall easy going class.
Eberts is very nice man. He offers plenty off extra credit, so take advantage! If you go to all of the extra credit, then you pretty much earned your A! Anytime, you go to an extra credit activity, always somehow provides you with food! His lectures are boring though. And he tends to trick you on his exams. Just go to all E.C. and you got your A.
Well this is the only B I have so far. I walked in thinking he's the easiest teacher and with that mentality I didn't take the class seriously. How can you? He basically has no rules(ESPECIALLY ATTENDANCE) and you'll get an A if you go to his extra credits. He gives you more points for those than the quizes but it wasn't much help to those of us wh
There can't be a better, nicer teacher than Mr. Eberts. He is funny and easy going. I recommend not to miss lecture, and you wont even need to buy the book. His lectures are super clear, and he test from notes. LOVE IT LOVE IT!
What can I say, Mr. Eberts is just a really really nice guy. Class is very easy and you learn a lot at the same time. He is very smart in his field and his class is pretty fun. Just take the class and you'll understand what I'm talking about.
he is a very nice teacher. his lectures are LOOOOONNNGGG. you may fall asleep in class, i did several times. just take notes, review the notes and you will do good on the tests. the paper he assigns is VERY EASY. i recommend this class.
go to the extra creditssss! that will save your grade! even if you fail the midterm and final. i would know! i got Ds on my tests, barely showed up, and got a B in the class. if i put in a litttle more effort i woulda gotten an A. but hes honestly TOOO NICE of a guy.
YYYEBERTS....Chill guy. Tries to be funny, so you can give him some credit for that. He gives you a lot of opportunities to bring your grade up, i.e. Extra credit field trips, extra credit questions on quizzes, etc. If you do well and he gets to know you a little you will get the A. Also, take the notes and study whatever you wrote-- it helps.
FIELD TRIPS...that's all he does. he also tries to be funny. you can usually find him in front of the class with a coffee cup in his hand lecturing about MEDIA NOTES. overall COOL CAT
The easiest class ever! If you take good notes and study them and just skim through the book, you'll get an A. Go to the field trips because they help too. If you don't get an A, you're just lazy or something is wrong with you.
Although the class is easy, he is a very boring teacher. He lectures the whole time. Tests are kind of hard, but if you attend class and pay attention and attend all the field trips you will pass with at least a B.
I love media studies and communication, but this was not the most interesting class. The field trips are fun and he is a nice guy. It's an easy A as long as you know the key terms and keep up with course load.
Boring Class Ever!!! Don't take him. All he does is lecture for 1.5 hrs. Horrible teacher. Bored to Tears in that class. Tests are hard. NOT NOT NOT an easy A class. Trust me!!! Stay Away. Always has a coffee cup in his hands with no coffee.!!! WOW .. Crazy teacher.
HORRIBLE TEACHER!!! Very Boring...Stares at you when you take a test...CANT CHEAT!! Lectures for HOURSSS>> DONT TAKE THIS CLASS! TRUST ME> YOU WILL REGRET IT> the other teacher is much better. Do yourself a favor... Easy C. Hard A. WARNING: STAY AWAY!
I actually enjoyed this class. If you care enough and study and attend the class you will do well.
This teacher is honestly HORRIBLE. Class is very BORING. It is very difficult to pay attention in the class. I heard the other teacher is much BETTER. Not a good teacher at all. DO yourself a favor and dont take him. I am serious.
he is not an easy teacher trust me! i thought this class would be easy, but its actually boring and useless, so do yourself a favor and dont take mr.eberts, if u can take osbatz
this man is the definition of BORRRRRRRINNNNNNGGGGGGGGGG....you must have a lot of patience to sit thru his whole class..i would come to class the last minute when he would take roll and bounce he never looks up when he takes roll so anybody can say here and hel mark em lol
This class is not hard you just need to study his powerpoints and your are set. His lectures are pretty interesting. MAKE SURE YOU ATTEND ALL EXTRA CREDIT FIELD TRIPS. They will help your grade out tremendously and they tend to be fun as well. I learned quite a bit from him. Thanks Eberts.
Mike Eberts is a passionate man when it comes to teaching Mass Comm 101. He is famous for his field trips, which are truly highlights of the course. You get extra credit for attending, but the experience is fun too! Even the most casual of students should have an easy time in this class, but also make sure to attend supplemental instruction weekly!
I thought this class would be a peace of cake but it really wasnt. u have to really study his notes and probably read the book. his quizzes are annoying and tricky, but theyre still ok. field trips are life savers and SIs are helpful too. i got a D on the midterm but i went to 3 field trips and got an A in the class. overall, not the funnest class
Really easy and fun class. Prof Eberts loves his subject and always makes the class fun. There are a lot of field trips which are extra credit and are quite fun. Easy A if you show up and do the work.
Alright, listen, I took his class, honestly it is boring, got a C on midterm, even D on one quiz, and a B on research but passed with an A, well don ask me how it works, JUST go to the field tripssss, that's alllll,
Mr. Eberts is a very fun teacher. His class is really easy. I got A on all quizzes and test. But I had to read the book and study the notes. His field trips are the best part of the class. They are really fun and you get EXTRA credit....what more could you ask for? Highly recommended!
Interesting class. Mr. Eberts knows his subject very well. Attend all the field trips and study his notes and you'll pass the class with an A or a B. I went to the field trips and got an A. I recommend this professor.
this class is pretty boring and attendence is a must. his notes are all on blackboard but writing them down helps for memorizing. he has quizzes every 2 or 3 weeks which are simple but the final and midterm are hard. so go to the extra credits to make sure you get an A. if you can take another teacher but if not take him because it's not that bad.
I would suggest bringing a laptop with you to this class. His powerpoint notes are gone through at a fast pace and after a while the class becomes quite boring. At first, I began bringing a laptop to class, always on facebook at 8AM, then I resorted to just not going to class at all and sneaking in the back door when he would take role. Easy class.
Professor Eberts is one of the nicest teacher in GCC. Trust me and take this class, n just go to all the fieldtrips u will do just fine
Dr. Eberts is one of the nicest teachers at GCC. He really wants you to express your opinions on the subject hes discussing, and helps you in any shape or form for you to pass the class. All you have to do is go to his field trips, take notes(not necessary) and do get mediocre grades on quiz's, midterm and exam and youll pass the class
Eberts is one of the BEST professors at GCC. He cares about his students and invest so much patience in seeing them succeed. He has fun field trips and he knows some cool places in LA ! I wish he thought more classes! Take him! He's the best!... the ONLY flaw is he is so nice he should kick people out for a talking so much!
He is crazy! If you love your GPA please stay away from him. He has those stupid extra credits but he doesn't even count them at the end....so don't bother waisting ur time! He gives A to people who are like him...boring and serious...if you ask questions he doesnt know how to answer it...
sigh...
The class isn't all that difficult!!! Just read the book on time, participate in class, do a good job on the research paper, and do the extra credit. I was only able to do 1 extra credit field trip and I still managed to get an A.
Very easy class. His quizzes are usually based on examples he uses in class and his notes on the powerpoint. So bring a laptop, glance through the book, attend a couple field trips, and youll be fine in the class. Semi-boring but still highly Recommended!
This is one of those classes that seem so easy that you can get a C if you don't keep your discipline. GO TO FIELD TRIPS. READ YOUR TEXTBOOK. DON'T DITCH. STUDY YOUR NOTES. YOU'LL GET AN A. It's an easy A if you work. An easy C if you don't.
This class is so easy that its hard. He probably knows its not that hard of a class content-wise, so he makes unnecessary things difficult. His tests and quizzes are unusual, knowing all the content well might not even help you. If youre serious about your grade dont risk it. If youre a slacker, you can pass with extra credit and uselessness...
EASY CLASS DO THE MAJORITY OF EXTRA CREDIT HE GIVES AND YOU'LL DO FINE AND HE GIVES A LOT OF EXTRA CREDIT. NEVER BOUGHT THE BOOK, MISSED LIKE 4 OR 5 DAYS, LOWEST QUIZ GRADE I GOT WAS A D, I GOT A D ON 1 OF THE TEST. I ACED THE RESEARCH PAPER. ENDED UP WITH AN A IN CLASS BECAUSE OF ALL THE EXTRA CREDIT HE HAS AVAILABLE.I STOPPED TAKING NOTES MIDWAY.
Class is easy overall. ATTEND ALL CLASSES and take notes on his PP and go to a couple extra credit trips, you'll be fine. Quizzes and tests are not hard if you've attended the lectures. Paper is very easy; typical college level paper and he gives you three options to choose from. Overall good teacher, not as bad as others say.
Great teacher, always brings the energy to class. Test questions right from PP. Take him and enjoy/ appreciate the effort he puts into the subject.
The class is very straight forward and pretty interesting. He is very up to date with the latest trends and current events. He is extremely clear in his lectures. Quizzes and tests are mostly common sense. Show up to the class, listen to the lectures, and you'll ace the exams. He gives so much extra credit, its hard to get less than an A.
I just love Mr. Eberts. He is a very smart professor, knows the subject very well and tries to help his students. Test are very easy if you pay attention.Plus he gives a lot of extra credits, which helps a lot.Take him, you won't regret!
These comments are very deceiving. Take this from a person who has a 3.8 with 60 credits taken. DO NOT TAKE. You look at notes all semester that have nothing to do with the tests. Everything is from the book and he never really says that. He is also very apathetic to individual students Prob the worse teacher ive had at the school. 60 credits TMW
Professor Eberts I just loved your class! Thank you so much! You are the best!!
Mike and his coffee cup : ) . he has a passion to teach this course for more than a 1.5 decade at GCC. he likes to talk a lot. using ppt. ppt is simple but tests questions are little bit vague honestly. He gives you almost 40 points extra credit. participate in field trips and SI can boost your grade. 3 quize, one midterm and easy research paper.
Very, very difficult to receive an "A" in the class if you cannot attend the fieldtrips, which could be scheduled during times where you have class and cannot skip them. Exams were tough, and the entire class seemed pointless, and I didn't really learn anything. Couldn't force myself to study much for the exams. Not a class I could recommend.
Prof. Eberts' class is probably the easiest class you'll ever take. All his quizzes, the midterm, and the final are based off his powerpoint lectures. They are also available online in case you miss class. He offers a lot of extra credit and doesn't assign homework except for one research paper. This class is very straight forward and easy.
BEST CLASS EVER! I loved being in Mr. Eberts class I wish I could be on more of his classes, he's very smart, introduces new things about media, classes are fun, interesting and easy to understand.Tons of extra credit so just go to those, go to class,do the reading, participate, and ask him questions after class, its a fairly easy A YES take it!
Great professor. His lectures were very clear and interesting. Plenty of SI's available for extra credit. Makes it very possible to pass! I wish more were like him.
He is so monotone & would never take him again. It was not an interesting class for me. He has endless extra credit, you just have to do it. 3 quizzes, midterm, term paper, & final.
Enjoyable class!! Easy if you do well learning from lectures. Many field trips.
This is a really easy class but be careful, you can also slip. Make sure to pay attention in class, study the powerpoints, GO TO EXTRA CREDIT FIELD TRIPS. They're really fun! They are basically the essay portions of the final and the midterm. Eberts is very knowledgeable and is a funny guy! Sometimes can get boring but is a really interesting class
Most boring class I've taken at GCC. You will pretty much only get an A if you attend ALL extra credit's which is annoying cause some are pretty far. Obsatz is very easy A so take her instead
I like his sense of humour and to be honest, his classes aren't that hard. Study well for the quizzes and go to 2-3 extra credit field trips and you'll be fine!
i would rather be in a math class for 5 hours and actually be bored but learn something than be in this class for an hr and a half.. SO BORING!!! He's so mono toned too so it makes it even worse. I have not learned a single thing and still don't know what the class is about. only take it if you know someone who has test answers, trust me.....
Mikey is just such a nice guy! He is always so helpful and so caring and so so so willing to help! Just be PRESENT and enjoy his wonderful and informative lectures! He has really cute ticks too! He points with his middle finger and always refers to Aunt Edna (Like where she at doe?) He's great and I love him :)
Stay away... I regreted taking this class. Tests are hard and he grades bad
I like his class, informational and humourous :)
So much extra credit it is wild! Class is interesting but notes should be take on the powerpoint. If you take good enough notes then you wont have to open the book. Lectures can be long so get ready for that. Your grade is made up from 3 quzzies, a mid term, term paper, and final. If you dont get an A in this class shame on you.
He's an amazing teacher. Some students in class are really stubborn and just use their phones and laptops to do other things while he gives lectures. Although he doesn't say anything you can tell he gets hurt. Expect a research paper.
If you don't attend any extra credit it is almost impossible to get an A. The extra credit also takes place when people have other classes so it's pointless. I wouldn't take him. Even if you attend every class you're not guaranteed an A. Tests are vague and only 10-15 problems from 3-4 chapters of criteria. I NOT take this class.
3 quizzes, 1 midterm, 1 research paper, 1 final. Loads of extra credit. Testquizzes are 90% of lecture so take notes and stay awake in class. Overall he's a great prof who likes to make his class laugh and does his job like any professor should. Impossible to get a B unless you try.
easy easy easy easy easy i dont know how else i describe if u care about your little be you will get an a he is chill guy love that man
Super easy A if you attend all extra credit field trips . I didnt go to any extra field trips, but I still managed to get an A. The class is not out of many points so it can be easy to screw up if you get lazy. That being said, read the book slowly and carefully and put a lot of effort into the research paper. Pay attention to lectures.
Easiest class youll take but he himself is weird. youll see quickly not many students respect him. He offers alot of extra credit but chances are youll have class during that time. As long as you can go to couple extra credit opportuniies that are AT SCHOOL and not the field trips you should be fine. Also a tough grader on the research paper.
This class is super easy if you put in some work and show up to class. Gives a lot of extra credit opportunity and tests and quizzes are based off the lectures.
Amazing professor and expert in his job. He has his Doctorate from USC, highly educated and prepared for his class. Always there to help his students. Gives 5 field trips for extra credit and those are very fun. I strongly recommend you to take him.
The class is very easy, but he makes it boring sometimes. He gives u one research paper and a midterm. Make sure u go to the field trips. Overall, it was an easy class.
Was actually looking forward to this class but the class was very boring. The things he talks about are common knowledge and I learned nothing new. Its an easy A if you have no other classes or a job and have time to go to all the field trips and library workshops. Grades very unfair on the research paper and the written parts of the tests.
People don't give Eberts enough credit. He has a pHD & is so passionate about what he teaches. he is seriously the sweetest man ever and literally his powerpoints are online. all the tests are based on the powerpoint & lectures, book not needed. theres no way to fail, he gives so much extra credit. Don't even have to show up! Take him easy subject
I did nothing. I barely went to class. I still don't understand how I got an A in this class, but I'm not complainin. He's a sweet man
Overall, Mike is a genuine guy. He helps his students and he gives you tons of extra credit to choose from (they are field trips). Sadly, I wasn't able to go to any of these field trips because of my schedule but I actually liked his class. Take Mike Eberts if you want a cool, calm, and collective professor. He's not as bad as people say he is :)
You dont have to show up to class except on test days. In class all he does is go over the notes that are available on moodle. Over half the class dosn't show up to class on most days. Go to all the extra credit field trips and you'll easily get an A even if you get a B on all your tests. Tough grader on the research paper but doesnt really matter.
this is good class to take if you want an easy A. All you have to do is attend all the extra credits. There are field trips, SIs, and library workshops. If you do all of those and put in some effort for the tests, you'll get an A. He's not tough when it comes to the research paper. You just have to have good sources and answer the prompt correctly.
He's a very sweet, and caring professor! You have three quizzes (not that bad), 1 midterm (easy), research paper (eassssssyy), and final (not bad). You have over 30 points extra credit just from attending all SIs, once a week. That already bumps your grade automatically. Overall, an easy class. Take it if you want an easy and attainable A.
He does amaging lectures. But very unfair. I will Not recommend his MC101 if you keep your GPA good. You don't have to attend his class, and it doesn't matter how much serious and sencere you do in lectures. It would be hard to have A, B, even C without taking part in some field-trips(weekday) since I couldn't pass. I studied really hard though....
He changed the tests so dont bother asking others, you actually gotta study. If you go to extra credit field trips and SI's youll be fine. Easy A.
You need to work hard to get an A. If you go on all the field trips and do the extra credits they help.
Really ??!!! do you really wanna take his class??!!! think twice before taking mass-comm with him
Eberts is an easy A if you study the powerpoints (on moodle) and attend SI's where he hands out study guides for the quizzes, attending SI's also earns you extra credit. 3 quizzes, hard if you don't attend SI's, so study or attend. Midterm and Final are cumulative for the first and second half of the semester and is super easy- one paper, EASY!!
He's chill, but don't get on his bad side -- worst thing you can do is talk/whisper while he is lecturing. He WILL call you out on it in front of everyone. Lots of cool field trips but they are during the week in the middle of the day when lots of students still have classes. Pet peeve: interrupts you while you are talking during class discussions.
Such a boring class. Don't take him unless you're interested in the topic and have time to do the extra credits . 3 quizzes (easy), midterm, final, and a research paper worth 50 points. Go to the SI's and get the study guides . Getting an A would be hard without the extra credits and study guides. Btw he has changed the test questions.
3 quizzes, one midterm one final and a research paper. If you got to class and listen during the lectures you'll for sure get an A and also the extra credit really helps. He takes mass comm really seriously which is annoying but if you actually put in some effort you'll get an A. You don't have to go to class but you miss out on important lectures.
Easiest class at gcc eberts is so nice nd cute
This class was fine for me. His lectures are very boring so I found myself always being on my laptop. Don't talk while he's talking you'll get called out. ECs saved my life and they're honestly really fun field trips too! More of a class to take during summer so you can actually go to the extra credits but warning: NO SI during summer );
Eberts is a very sweet and passionate man but the class is very boring. I would just sit on my laptop and do online shopping or watch Netflix. All the powerpoints are on Canvas. He gives so much extra credit. The SI's help ALOT with the quizzes. 3 quizzes, 1 midterm, 1 research paper, and 1 final. Easy A. Do the extra credit and you'll be fine.
This class was my snoozing hour. Seriously, if your interested take the class if not don't bother. We were graded on literally 3 things and I hated every second of it. Yeah class is interesting but VERY boring.
Worst professor ever. Do NOT take him Im warning you now. He doesnt care about your concerns about your grades and is not a fair grader. He gives the most boring lectures and does not keep you interested at all. I was about to major in mass com but he literally made me change my mind. DO NOT TAKE HIM!
Eberts is a very friendly guy and wants you to do well. I felt that the lectures were kind of useless, as everything can be read off his powerpoints which are all self-explanatory. There are a lot of opportunities for extra credit, including the field trips (usually 5 points each) and supplemental instruction (2 points each).
If you're interested in media, you should really take this class. You'll really learn A LOT. Prof. Eberts is a Fantastic instructor, he lectures every chapter through PowerPoints, which are also on Canvas. He does an excellent job in walking you through the lesson. He's very thorough. The SI's are EXTREMELY beneficial. Memorize his PowerPts & SI's
Prof. Eberts is a chill, smart professor: the course was simple, straight-forward. Few exams/quizzes, one paper, loads of extra credit/class trip opportunities. It's a good intro course, not difficult, powerpoints contain critical info. I actually didn't do the term paper & passed the class by acing exams and going to all the extra credit. Not bad.
a lot of extra credit. but if during fall or spring the field trips and SI's were all during other class times so it was hard to go to them all. He is such a sweet lil man but the class can drag on and get boring bc everything he lectures you can get from the ppt. really study the media notes and ppts to pass quizzes and tests. do as much extra cr
I am sure he is a great person, but I dreaded starting my day with his class. He is incredibly boring and I cannot handle being in this class. People don't realize that he takes roll so it counts toward participation. Easy class you have to study A LOT. I am sure if it was a different subject, he would be a great professor. Nice man just annoying.
This class is not hard, but its definitely not easy. You really have to study and memorize the power points to at least get a A on his tests. Tests were like 15 questions, but super tricky. Most people didn't do well on them. Go to the field trips and SI's because they are a lot of points. The research paper was a drag, but not the worst.
His lectures are boring!!! He gives a lot of extra credit mostly field trips. Attend SI meetings. this is not an easy A class. if this class is your major I recommend him because you will learn a lot. I do not recommend him if this class has nothing to do with your major because you have to study ALOT.
The absolute worst professor. Really long and boring lectures. Studying is almost useless because of how broad his topics are on the quizzes. The only good thing is his extra credits which barely even help. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH THIS PROFESSOR!
Finding the right professor for communication studies has been a real problem for me. To find the right professor, I have been visiting different colleges. I got a recommendation from a friend and I visited Mike Eberts in the communication department at Glendale Community College. I have taken his classes and I am extremely happy with the results.
Mike Eberts is a polite and excellent teacher. I have been taking his classes at Glendale Community College, Glendale, CA. He takes care of his students and provides excellent consultation. If you are looking for a good recommendation, then you should consider taking his classes.

Selection of the best professor in the communication studies was a real challenge for me. I have been visiting multiple colleges to find the best professor. If you have been searching for the best professor who can provide you with great tips for career development then you should consider taking his classes.
I have been searching for the best professor for communication studies and I have finally found one. Mike Eberts is an excellent professor of communication studies and he can help you with your future goals as well. He will also guide you for your career options and will help you choose the right career path as well. Highly recommended.
I was extremely bad in the communication studies. I was searching for the best teacher in our university. I started taking classes of Mike Eberts after visiting the communication department of Glendale Community College and I felt amazing. I would love to recommend Mike Eberts to the people who are searching for the best professor.
I was extremely depressed because of the recent results of my communication studies exams. I started my research to find a good professor and came across Mike Eberts professional page. I am very glad that I started taking his classes and I will recommend Mike Eberts as he is an excellent professor of communication studies.
I enjoyed Mikes class. Tests and quizzes are not hard long as you read. Reading can be a little long but his power point slides are available online (Canvas) and outline the major concepts of the book VERY well. He offers tons of Extra credit via field trips that are actually fun. Attending class isn't critical but involves EC on quizzes. Take him!
Finding the perfect professor can be a difficult task when you are searching for the best professor for communication studies. I finally found Mike Eberts who is a professor of communication studies at Glendale Community College. He has helped me a lot in my studies and he can really help you succeed in your upcoming exams.
A boring subject, a boring professor, probably the worst ever in my life. Dont take mass comm with this professor or in general
I enjoyed taking Professor Eberts Mass Comm 101 class. Class consists of 3 quizzes, a midterm, a paper, and a final. Quizzes are easy as long as you read. Paper is simple as long as you provide good sources, and the midterm and final are both manageable. Easy A for most, If I would've taken the class more seriously, I could've gotten an A as well.
I took this class to get rid of my GE and I regret it every day. I'm a fairly good student and this is the only class I had received a C for. To break it down for you - His lectures are really hard to stay focused on and you really gotta take notes on everything bc his tests are on every section. Don't like his grading system at all. gives extra C
Mass Com 101 was the first GCC course I ever took in the summer and it was the best experience ever. Go to the field trips for extra credit and study for the tests, and you'll get an A. His lectures can get boring when you have the class for over 3 hours a day in the summer but he gives you breaks. Recommend taking the course with a friend or two.
I am so glad I took professor Eberts for masscomm 101. In hard times he showed that he really does care about his students. He made sure we had chances to keep up with work. He had medianote quizzes each class day. They were interesting, easy and fast. The grading was clear and I was never confused. His class didnt feel stressful!
I has professor Eberts for Mass Communication 101 and it was honestly super easy and super chill, he is very understanding when it comes to things happening and if you ever need more time on an assignment (which is rare) he'll give it you. There's only one big paper due and that's it, everything else is just small lectures and 5 question quizzes.
I loved this class and would recommend to anyone. There were a lot of field trips and if you attended you got extra credit. Tests and Quizzes were directly from the slides and there were extra credit questions too. If you respect the professor and pay attention it will be an easy A. At the end, all the EC I earned meant I could relax on the Final
He posts a weekly quiz, answers in his slides, and a 3 question easy quiz every week, based on a short 5 min yt video. It is nearly impossible to not get an A if you do the work. many extra credit opportunities. One paper in the sem and a group project as ur final. The group project was very annoying though, i wish he would let us do it on our own.
If you think professor Eberts is a horrible teacher, then you obviously didn't even try to learn at all. He is a very understanding teacher and gives easy quizzes, homework, and tests. I took mass comm 101 and it was by far one of the easiest classes I ever took. He also helps you a lot, so if you ever take mass comm, go to him you won't regret it!
Taking this class was more similar to taking a history class, and was incredibly boring to go through.
Professor Eberts was one of my favorite professors this semester! Unfortunately I had taken him online and not in person but he still made every lecture so easy! All you have to do is listen to his videos, and take a weekly multiple choice quiz that also includes 2 attempts. Very nice and caring person who also provides feedback. Assignments are ez
Professor Ebert's lessons are easy and pretty methodical. You just have to complete weekly quizzes and write a research paper during the midterm. His lecture videos are quite monotonous though so you'll need to have the patience to bear with it. He also shows that he cares about his students through extra credits like the transfer workshop.
Simple class. 15 chapter quizzes, syllabus quiz, 1 research paper, short 3 question multiple choice quizzes every other week based on a certain video each time. Do your work and you'll be fine!
Best teacher all we had to do is his quizzes (on quizlet)and a few written assignments answering 3 questions. Had video lectures to watch also posted the notes from the video. Easy research paper he gives you the whole semester to write as a final. No zoom unless need help. Lessons were so easy to understand. An amazing soul and easy grader.
Great teacher, overall easy and light class
Dr. Eberts is a great teacher. He is very nice, understanding, and caring. Just do your work and you will be fine.
This guy made his class so easy that if you fail, u definitely tried your hardest to fail. I respect him for looking out for students and making material so easily accessible and understandable and then copying the test directly from the readings. He kind of just tells you what is required and steps out of the way to let you work. I respect that.
This class was very easy to receive an A in, as long as you read the textbook and watch his lectures. However, I found it disappointing that everything seemed like it was prerecorded in 2020, and minimal updates were made from prior courses. I assume this has become a trend for many GCC professors since the pandemic.
This class is going to be the easiest class you will ever take. Prof Eberts is very lenient and understanding with everything. There are weekly online chapter quizzes (very easy) and one research paper which was also easy. I would definitely take this class again.
He's a very cool and funny guy. The research project is quite time consuming, other than that the course is relatively easy. Lots of extra credit opportunities!
Professor Eberts is was overall a very easy way to knock out a GE requirement. The class is very easy and you have several opportunities to do extra credit. Every week you take a 10 question quiz based on the lecture and the midterm is a essay. Thats pretty much it. He takes role at the end of class so you can show up a little later to the class.
I don't why some students have rated low. He's a pretty chill professor, his instructions are clear. His class is pretty easy and he let me submit my research paper after the due date and gave a good grade on that assignment. He doesn't overload you with homework. He has a 15-question quiz weekly + 3 easy questions on a short article/video.
Easy GE with lots of extra credit opportunities. Weekly quizzes, a midterm essay, and a group project. Lectures can be monotonous, but Unstuck study AI was a lifesaver for study prep.
I took Professor Eberts for Mass 101 and was surprised to see low ratings; it was an easy A class. Each week, there were small quizzes on diff chapters, and you had two attempts to complete them, which helped improve your grade. He also assigned a simple 3-point question, you watch a video and answer the questions, helping to improve your grade!
