Great guy, very funny, learned a LOT, he makes you work hard, but it's worth it
Learn a ton, always keeps it amusing. A lot of work is required, must be willing to go in and finish up dissections, etc. outside of class.
cool guy, he is on your side, learn a lot, works you

Mr. Mike Gehner is a sexy beast. I don't know what it is about the guy, but I'm not alone here. I can't think of anyone else I would rather have teach me anatomy..a wink wink!
Be prepared to do a ton of work. But it is definately worth it. You learn so much from him and have fun while doing it. And best of all he is really cute.
Mike is the hottest, funniest, sexiest man to ever walk this planet! He keeps class fun and interesting, although you do have to work to get an A. He truly respects his students and will do anything to help you out. Definitely XU's greatest professor.
One of the few truly genuine people I've ever met. He loves teaching and it shows. Very passionate and enthusiastic about life in general. I just might marry the man one day...
GenBio with Mike was really easy, but genetics lab is tough. He really expects a lot of you when you're an upper classman, but rightfully so. However, he's also one of my best friends in the department. A great, great educator. Sorry girls, he's married.
Everyone is saying how he is such a great teacher, personally, everything that I got out of this class I taught myself. The good thing about him is that he makes up the tests for the department, so there usually aren't too many surprises.
Mike is awesome. really nice and funny and makes the most boring material interesting. take him if you can!!
I didn't like him very much. He tends to pick on students and likes to make them feel stupid. I thought that the amount of work outside of class was unreasonable.
Mike crams a lot into one lab but that is the way it has to be done. He lets you know right off the bat that you do have to do some work. He is extremely helpful though with any questions, GO TO OFFICE HOURS IF YOU NEED TO!! Don't be afraid to ask questions and try to have fun with him.
Awesome teacher. Very laid back and understanding. Likes to joke around, don't take it affensively. I found his information very interesting and learned a lot. Definitely recommend taking him.
Mike Gehner rocks! very laid back..tells you exactly what to study for tests. Does nice reviews at the end of labs.
mike was the best teacher i have ever had a xavier. he was extremely helpful and wanted everyone to succeed in his class. it was hard but you learn sooooooo much
Gehner is very enthusiastic about teaching but it is true that alot of things you need to teach yourself, but that is because the class only meets once a week. There is a ton of work outside of class but you'll be thankful because you actually learn the material. Good guy.
Mike is an interesting professor. While I am very interested in the subject, it seems that he is a tad too hard on the students. I understand that there is a lot of outside work necessary, but he isn't as helpful as he should be in class. Overall, be prepared to work and be able to take pressure.
GEHNER DOMINATES 'nuff said
Class is very interesting, however, there is so much work to be done that students hardly ever finish. Be prepared to go in lab a lot outside of class. Tests were hard and sometimes tricky. Don't be afraid to raise your hand. Be ready for stress and lots of pressure.
Mike initially rubbed me the wrong way, but I got over it. He's a very entertaining lab instructor. In fact, probably the single most amusing thing that I've ever encountered at XU was during his lab. I highly endorse his class. He's approachable and funny.
Very nice guy.. EXTREMELY funny! This class takes up a ton of time in and out of the lab. Its tough at first but is worth it in the end. Classes are long and may take extra time outside of the time period, but if you get things done it is not that bad.
Mike is awesome. He teaches a difficult and boring subject in an interesting and often funny way. He truly cares how you do in the class - take him if you can!
Mike is a pretty sweet dude, theres not much else to say. He is very easy to talk to, and enjoys interacting with the students. At the same time, the subject is hard so the class is no breeze. He's pretty good though.
Great teacher and so nice! Lab is a little bit difficult by nature, but Mike at least makes it fun to go. I would definitely recommend taking him!!
Mike is fantastic. I was a freshman when I had him for lab, and I had no idea that professors/lab instructors aren't usually like him. He's funny, friendly, and warm. He kept all of us laughing and bonded us as a group. Yes, he's tough, but it's a tough subject! I recommend him wholeheartedly.
without him, there's no way that this would've been my favorite class.
Discouraging to students. Is not helpful and shares information about grades with other students.
Mike is amazing! He makes Lab fun, even when you're not interested in science...which Im not. He's nice, and makes his students laugh every class period. The class is difficult, but not impossible, especially with him as a teacher. I highly recommend him. I have Lab 2 w/o him next semester...and Im terrified!!
Mike is AMAZING! He is the coolest guy ever and is willing to help you. He makes lab fun even when the subject matter is dull. He's hilarious and nice but known as one of the tougher teachers. He expects a lot from his students and will push you to do well. Hard class but awesome teacher. Take him if you can!
One of the best teachers that I have ever had. The class is a lot of work but Mike makes the class fun. He is extremely funny & really cares about his students. Mike makes the tests and all the other teachers use his tests so the other classes do not know if they will even get all the info. needed for the test. I would DEF recommend this teacher!
Hands down, this guy is my favorite. Mike has a great sense of humor; he is genuine, caring and really makes his labs fun. Goes out of his way to make sure you succeed. Mike is the only prof I've ever had that knew my name by the end of the first class meeting. Beware though, because he fools you - you will NEVER again have a prof as good as this.
take him. trust me, youll be thankful. the subject is hard, not mike. he explains the material better than any of the other professors and has probably the easiest format for grading (e.g., his quizzes). take him.
I hate science but he's a really cool guy...take him.
Very nice guy but makes the class WAY more difficult than it needs to be because of test format. I came away from the class with a better understanding of the subject but no clue how to study and do well on his tests. I could write an essay better than I could answer his multiple choice questions. Definitely not worth taking for a non-sci major.
mike is fantastic!! he wins for best prof in the bio department by a landslide. great sense of humor, very helpful, very concerned about each student, gives lots of "hints" for the tests/quizzes...just a real sweetie. one of the few truly genuine people i've encountered in my life. highly highly recommended...for all classes.
love mike! he's fun in class.
TAKE HIM for bio of again! i had no interest in bio before taking him... hes fun, smart, and an amazing prof. def. worth the while. hard test format though. still would take him again no doubt.
Makes an effort to actually know his students. Will know everyone's name after the first class. The class is somewhat tough because of the practical questions, but Mike wants everyone to do well so he doesn't kill you. Recommended.
Mike is the man, great teacher, very helpful and keeps up a fast pace which is great in lab. He does move a lot faster han engle or neema, but I like faster paced labs so i would definitly recommed him, alltho neema is pretty awesome as well.
Mike freaking Rocks! (Even though he IS a Bengals fan). Mike exactly what a professor should be! He loves what he does and he really does care about your success. Plus, he's cool as hell! You can talk to him and joke around with him like just another college student. Class is hard work, but having a teacher who cares and is cool makes it worth it!
In a word, he sucks. If you get him, drop the class as quickly as you can.
I don't understand that last review. Mike is my favorite professor at Xavier. He is really good at what he does. He explains things well and is not afraid to have fun. He's very approachable and can relate with his students. I almost always got out of class early but I always looked forward to class. TAKE HIM! Mike is awesome!
LOVE HIM! He is a great teacher and absolutely hilarious.
Mike is awesome!! take him if you can he's the best and he's super funny. extremely helpful and really wants to see you succeed
Convinced me that I do love science. Literally may have determined my major for me. Take Gehner's class no matter what it is.
mikes class is not a joke. you have to make it your life if you're in his class. But he will help you out a lot, he makes it easy to understand, and he's an awesome teacher. Now I feel like I know everything after taking his class.
Very entertaining class. He is the coolest prof. He knows how to teach and was organized.
I have no idea how Mike does it but he makes you feel accomplished and proud of your lab work after each class. Great prof, easy to understand, and is willing to explain any questions. Take Mike! You won't regret it!
Awesome teacher. loves the subject and kept the material fun. he made me want to do well and while it wasn't that easy, he makes it as easy as possible with his study guides. DO THE STUDY GUIDE AS YOU GO. it will def pay off in the end.
He knows his stuff and is a good instructor but the class is hard! It requires alot of studying, the tests and quizzes were ridiculous and he doesn't give you any sack.If you are a serious about being a science/biology major and super focused then this class is for you but don't expect him to be very inspirational if you aren't doing well.
if there was a Fo-shizzle meter on a scale from 1 to 10 i would give him a 13!!!! oh yeah, uh huh. i went there.
Do not take this professor for A&P 140 Lecture. He is ridiculously hard and doesn't care about helping you at all. I would go to his office hours and leave without a single one of my questions answered. He thinks it's funny when people fail and doesn't like answering questions.
Mike is a great guy who really wants his students to do well. Be warned though his class is very very difficult but you will learn the material and be better off second semester. I enjoyed his class even though I had many late nights studying for this class. Go see him for help because he is always open to help students. Really Recommend good prof
I had Mike for A&P lecture & lab. His lecture class is ridiculously hard. If you want to do well, you need to make A&P your life! His power points are very clear and organized. Lab was much easier w/less material to know. If you study and go into open labs, you'll do well. He's a fun guy, but has very high expectations.
Enjoyed the class & the way that it was taught. He expects a lot from his students, but he also doesn't try to trick you or mislead. It is very clear how your grade is calculated & what you are expected to know. I really enjoy his class!
Mike is an awesome guy. He kept lab entertaining so time flew by each class. He is more than willing to help students who are willing to put in the time to succeed. The class is well outlined. The tests weren't bad but again you have to put in the time to study. Funny guy and really wants you to succeed. Take him if you can!
Awesome guy, really funny, knew how to make class interesteing. You might hear people complain about him but thats only because people didn't want to put it the effort to study and they chose to blame him for their bad grade. Really knows his stuff and he makes the tests for the lab classes so he will tell you exactly how the test
Really hard class. On the first day he lets you know that half of the people will drop out by October. Each class has about 50, and about 25 leave. The grade is composed of 5 exams and 6 quizzes. Exams 1-4 are worth 60% of the final grade and Exam is worth 30%. The six quizzes make up 10% of the final grade.Reallly hard, just take another prof.
Mike is a really nice guy and extremely helpful. He lets you come in during office hours and wants you to do well in his class. the class is really hard, but that should be expected. he does help but he does let you know that alot of people will drop
Really hard class! The class only meets once a week and their is a lot to be covered in a short amount of time. The grade is composed of 2 tests worth 50 points each. One exam-75 points. muscle project-50 points. dissection grade-20 points(cat). 3 quizzes each 10 points. Open review three times a week- not really helpful, gets very crowed.
He is a really good teacher, and very personable. Makes you feel really comfortable and will answer any questions you have. He likes to make jokes to. Ok now to get down to business. His tests are difficult. You have to go to SI sessions and read the book and study really hard to get a good grade in his class. Would highly recommend though!!
Mike is a really great guy! Anatomy is a very hard class, so even though he's an awesome professor, it's still difficult, and he doesn't go easy on you. Still, he gives you outlines, and he's very helpful and lets students text him with questions. He's really funny and laid back. Best anatomy professor!
really good teacher, you you need to work hard in his class. read the book, print out the outlines and come prepared to class. start studying for test the very first day. we lost half our class by the end of the semester because people would not put the time in. great guy he tells you what you need to know and he wants you to do good in his class
one of the best and friendliest professors at Xavier!! makes lectures interesting and fun. material can be tough but study for the tests and do what he says and should be fine. expects a lot but wants everyone to pass! TAKE HIM!!
Mike is awesome! He designs and sets up every 141 lab class, so he explains things the best. The class isn't easy. A lot of studying for 1 credit hour. Be dedicated and you'll succeed. Mike will help you any way he can.
Gehner is awesome! He tries to actually learn your name, unlike other professors. Helps you any way possible. His tests can be difficult, but not impossible if you study. His final exam was very general, but still comprehensive. Love him!
He is one of the best teachers at Xavier! If you study and go visit him in office hours he is more than willing to help you. He is such a nice guy and it is not impossible to get an A.
A&PII is a lot of information. Mike expects you to read the book and use his lectures as an outline. He does give good lectures and tries to tie the material to events that the students can relate to. READ THE BOOK! He is by far the best professor I've had in 2 1/2 years of higher education.
My favorite college professor thus far. He truly cares about his students and will do whatever he can to make sure you succeed. His tests are not easy but he gives you everything you need to study for them. I would HIGHLY recommend him for your anatomy class.
super helpful, funny, interesting lectures, shows videos a lot. It's a hard class no matter what the teacher is like, but I have him for both lab and lecture and he is really great at making A&P useful.
Mike is wonderful, he is the best anatomy teacher by far and is very willing to help you outside of class. Not to difficult if you go to SI sessions as well
I LOVE MIKE!! Is the class easy? I actually think so! He's hilarious! I retook him this semester because I did so well last semester an so far, so good! I've only gotten As on his tests so IT IS DOABLE! Study with a friend, study from his notes, only read what he tells you to and above all, GO TO SI (I'm teaching next year hopefully)
Mike is my favorite professor so far. I'm so comfortable texting him or calling him at anytime. Everyone calls him Mike, and he knows everyone's name. He helps you as much as possible, and he's absolutely hilarious. Makes anatomy as fun as possible.
Mike's the best professor here! He really makes anatomy interesting by adding personal stories, jokes, and videos to lecture. He is super helpful and encourages participation. Class attendance, reading the book, going to SI, and attending office hours are KEY to your success in this class. His tests are hard but you won't regret taking him!I<3Mike
Mike is a great guy and a very good teacher for a course that is pretty difficult. His exams are tough but if you go to office hours, get to know him, and study in advance you can do just fine. I'm a very weak science student and got a B in anatomy!
Mike is by far the best teacher I've ever had! Coming from Grossman where I learned nothing, it was amazing to get to switch to Mike. His lectures are interesting and he explains things in a way everyone can understand. His tests are tough but if you work hard, it will pay off. He also gives extra credit opportunities at the end which is helpful.
I may not have passed his class with the grade I needed, but Mike is the most down-to-earth professor you'll ever have. He is hilarious and tells interesting stories which usually relate to the lecture. He is great with time management within his lectureslab, so you'll know what to study for on testsexams. I suggest not skipping either by the way
He's a very good teacher, always there for you when you need it. But he's kind of rude but thinks it's funny. He would make jokes at you if you did something wrong. Anatomy is a hard class but mike has a way of explaining things that works. YOU HAVE TO STUDY ON YOUR OWN A LOT!!!!!! you will not get a good grade if you're not willing to do that.
Tests and quizzes are difficult, but not if you memorize the material and study a lot! It definitely helps to read the book. He uses powerpoints for the lectures and tells you what you need to know. He does a good job of explaining confusing concepts and is a really friendly guy! Mike is also hilarious and everybody loves him.
I love Mike Gehner. He is a legend. Take him. He isn't the easiest teacher at Xavier, but he will prepare you the most. He is very understanding if you are sick or something comes up. Very clear, and if you study 6 hours total for a test, you should at least get a B. go to the lectures and you'll be fine.
Gehner is awesome! I could not have asked for a better teacher.. He's funny, personal, and up to date on things. Nothing is outdated and he finds a way to make everything relate to current day situations. His lecture notes are EVERYTHING. Don't skip class, and ask for help when you need it and you'll be fine.
Mike is so funny and makes anatomy fun. I actually looked forward to this class. There's a lot of studying involved, but that's what you get with anatomy. The book is a must have. We did so many interesting things! I'd take it again any day.
I love Mike! By the end of the semester, he feels like more of a friend than a teacher. He's super relatable and his lectures are hilarious. Anatomy is hard but he makes it exciting. I really only used the textbook for the diagrams, all other studying came from his lecture outlines. He is very clear on what you'll be tested on.
This lab is two hours long. It'll kill you if you watch the clock, but Mike makes it less horrible. He's funny and welcoming so you'll never feel uncomfortable asking questions. He notices improvement and sees when you're struggling, so it made me want to work harder. He is an incredible professor and you can tell he loves what he does.
Mike is a great professor! He is very inspirational and goes into depth! would def take his class again
From a week before school started Mike as he likes to be called told us that it would be a hard class and attendance is the the key to passing. He was clear on how to succeed. Mike is also super cool and wants to get to know you so go to office hours.
Mike is the best professor for Anatomy Lab at Xavier. He makes the exams so he will give hints as to what will be on the tests. He is super nice and treats all students like you are his kids. If he sees you struggling then he will make it a point to help you and if you interact with him during class he'll remember you.
Mike is brutally honest, and it can be hurtful and discouraging to students. He will embarrass you in front of the entire class if you do something wrong. He called me out, in a very condescending manner, for messing up something small and I was humiliated. I'm also introverted and he never tried to learn my name. I would not take his class again.
A&P is a weed-out class, so it's going to be really hard. This class is only 1 credit, but you'll spend more time studying this than a 3 credit class. He's good at preparing you for the tests, but they're select all that apply so its hard. The good thing about being in Mike's class is he makes the exams for all of the classes, so he gives hints.
Love love love Mike! Anatomy is very hard, but Mike does a great job structuring the class to make it easier to learn. He breaks concepts down to make sure you actually understand the material. I am able to text him whenever I have a question, and he gets to know every one of his students. I'd take him again in a heartbeat.
Mike is an amazing professor to take for A&P lab. He writes the test so he constantly gives hints but he's also really great at explaining things. Attend his office hours whenever you are confused he is super helpful and wants to see you succeed. The test and quizzes are hard but he honestly tells you everything that will be on them in advance.
Mike is really a great guy and he keeps class very interesting. He wants you to succeed, but this does not mean you can slack off. His class is WORK. You have to study and you MUST show up to class or you will fail the class. That being said, you can fail a test and still make it to a B with hard work. His lectures are funny and engaging.
Mike is a very difficult teacher but you will learn the material very well. He is not helpful if you are not doing well in the class and will make you feel unintelligent for asking questions or for clarification. Told me to drop my major since I had a "C" in the class-not very encouraging if you ask me.
Mike is great! This is the hardest class I have taken so far but he is a great teacher and a great guy. He makes the class really enjoyable but it is a tough class. Be prepared to study A LOT! He loves it when you go to office hours and he will definitely help you out. Overall he is a great teacher and a great guy!
Anatomy is a weed out class for health-related majors, it's gonna be a tough class no matter who you take. That being said I loved having Mike in lab. The start of the semester he was more intimidating, but halfway through when he saw who was willing to put the effort in to do well he got more lenient and friendlier.
Anatomy is not an easy class which is why it is really important to find the right professor who knows how to teach the material in an effective manner. In my opinion, Mike is a great professor. He has many years of experience teaching this course so he knows what he is doing. You just have to work hard for the grade you want.
Mike is very dad like. dad humor, that special kind of dad-like encouragement, and also dad expecations. he WILL call you out by name if you do something stupid. so just don't be stupid. Class is hard if you make it hard. If you're proactive it's not too bad. Full disclosure, I definitely had to take it twice.
One of the worst professors at Xavier. His lectures are unclear. He began the semester by announcing that half of the class would drop by the end of the semester. When going into an anatomy class, that's not what you need to hear. Try your hardest to get ANY other professor. Mike is terrible. There are other professors that want you to succeed.
Mike is a really good guy and a really good professor too. Anatomy is a hard class but Mike makes it bearable. He makes it a point to learn your name and get to know you a little. Go to his office hours if you need help, and SI too. His tests are challenging, as well as his quizzes but if you work hard and ask questions it's not terrible.
Mike was awful. The first day of lab he said that more than half of the class would drop right before the second lab exam. If you have a disability he'll brush it off and then forget who you are. Be prepared for challenge stations on the exam- sometimes you don't even learn that material. Way more work goes into this for a one-hour credit course.
Mike is very experienced at teaching A&P, I took him both semesters freshman year & I would definitely recommend him. His class is hard & you have to try to do well. The tests & quizzes are not easy, but I learned so much from Mike. Mike is a little quirky & is very much a dad type of teacher, but he really enjoys what he does, & he does it well.
I love Mike! I have had him for two semesters of anatomy and physiology and I would recommend him to anyone. The classes I took were weed out classes, so they are not easy. Mike does his best to make sure you succeed, just take advantage of office hours and ASK QUESTIONS!
Mike is one of my favorite professors at Xavier! He cares about his students and the topic he teaches. Anatomy is somewhat difficult, not because Mike makes it hard, but because it is a detailed field of study on its own. Mike does his best to guide you to success and what all of his students to grasp the information. Great professor to take!!
Mike is a wonderful professor. Anatomy is a hard class in general but Mike makes it interesting and is always available to answer your questions, you can even text him questions if he isn't in office hours! He makes the lectures relatable by using stories that make you remember the material. Take advantage of his help and go to office hours!
Michael was a great professor during lectures but once the test came they were harder. He do not provide a study guide so you will literally need to study and review everything . I would not recommend him.
It's a very hard class but every anatomy class is hard. He makes the information more understandable and loves to joke around with the material. There are Exams and quizzes which your grade is mostly based off of. But since he makes the exams you have an extra advantage because he will get you hints in class what's going to be on the Exams. Amazing
Only seemed to care about nursing majors. Tests and quizzes are really hard. Do not want to sign up for his class again.
Mike is absolutely the professor to take for A&P. He is super knowledgeable and good at what he does. You will need to take really good notes, maybe even record the lectures. He is really funny and an overall nice guy. By far the hardest class I've ever taken but if you work hard enough you will pass, and Mike is a great teacher.
Go to open lab often. Best lab prof for this course because he makes the tests and grades very generously. If you study and and put in the work you will get a good grade.
Best professor for anatomy and physiology, hands down. He ensures you know the material and explains things clearly. A&P is a hard subject regardless but Mike really pushes you to know the material rather than just memorize for a test.
Mike has such a Dad presence in the classroom. He is hilarious and has a story for everything, making the material much easier to understand. If you want to do well, go to every lecture with the outline printed off & write in the margins/ highlight the things he tells you to. Make sure to study everyday and go to SI. It is hard but really worth it.
The class itself is very difficult. Tests are hard, but Mike writes then so he'll give you a few hints. The class is a lot of work for one credit. Be prepared to study and attendance is mandatory. Mike is funny and personable and makes a difficult class bearable. He cares about his students and wants them to succeed, but makes you work for it.
This is truly a hard class and sometimes seems like your hard work will never pay off, but Mike truly cares about his students and how they are doing. He is willing to help everyone and makes the classroom setting so much fun to be in. Every class would be full of laughs and it made the difficulty of the class bearable.
Mike Gehner is the worst professor i have ever experienced. If you have to take anatomy beware of him!
During our lecture videos, he would talk about his kids, wife, and dogs more than the material. Class is super hard and he does not give good feedback, For example, I asked for help and he told me to watch youtube. He only cares about his nursing majors. Overall I would not recommend him.
If you want to actually LEARN anatomy and physiology, this is your guy. Everyone is gonna tell you he's the worst professor... that is only true if you don't put in the time and effort to succeed in this class. By far one of the most challenging classes I have ever taken, but also one of the most rewarding too. If you're ready to work, take Mike.
Mike's class was very difficult, but doable. You will be thankful later that you took him, but in the moment, you'll wish that you hadn't. His lecture outlines are the key to passing his class, and his quizzes are by far the hardest part about the course.
Mike is an amazing professor and really cares for his students. he gives detailed lecture outlines that are a key to passing the class. There is no homework, but be prepared to be studying every night. He knows the material very well and teaches it in a way that is easy to grasp. Take him if you want to actually learn anatomy and physiology
I love mike with all my heart. He's a great teacher and tells stories when he teaches (which makes it easier to retain the info). Come to his office hours for both lecture and lab, it will help a lot. He is brutally honest, but in my opinion, it's refreshing. He's hysterical and a total sweetheart. The class is hard but he makes it worth it.
Mike is awesome, don't listen to anything different. Anatomy by itself is extremely challenging, if you do not study you will fail, but Mike makes the expectations clear. He tells stories that help you remember things; he's a great guy! I'm so so glad I picked him for this class! And when you're done you will know the material really well!
a&p lab with mike gave me depression
Bought the lab kit through the University. Professor wanted us to get it through the website of the manufacturer. Said it was the same. More than half the things required for the experiments that were supposed to be in the kit weren't. Requested assistance, left on read or misunderstood my requests. Did the best I could, got a C+. Really bad class!
Not a lot of people like Mike, but I thought he was great. He does a great job of explaining things in lecture and literally tells you what is going to be on the test. It can be a lot at times, but if you have trouble then go to office hours. SI was really helpful as well.
Mike was one of my favorite teachers I have had. Yes, anatomy is very hard. But the way Mike teaches it made me want to ACTUALLY learn it, because he makes lectures so interesting. There is barely any homework, and it is just completion grade. Overall I have learned more from him this semester than I have in all of my life. 10/10 reccomend
Mike is the best! He is super caring and laid back (I hear he is a little tough with anatomy students so you learn well, but his classes after anatomy are very chill). He just really cares about his students and is very invested in their future.
Absolutely loved Mike for A&P 1 Lecture and Lab both. Classes were hard but I was able to get through both of them with a B. Towards the end of the year I started to get a hang of the class and would defiantly recommend attending SI. Also go to mikes office hours for additional help and to see your quiz answers.
He's hard, but it's worth it. If you take 20 minutes out of your day to study and pay attention during lectures, it's not impossible. He'll have the hardest class when it comes to grades but you'll also learn the most from him.
I took Mike for Anatomy 1 and his class was very challenging. It was hard to know what to study because his lectures were so dense. It was very hard to earn a good grade because his tests were very unpredictable and were over so much material. I would take another teacher if you have the option.
I had Mike for lab and he wasn't my fav. I didn't like how he came across sometimes. He was aunique way of teaching that's all I can say.
I thought that Mike's lectures were nice, the tests are a bit challenging, I would recommend Mike.
I took Mike for both Anatomy 1 Lecture and Lab this semester. He is straightforward with his class expectations and expects you to meet them. I encourage using the textbook resources he provides and going to his office hours. Also, RECORD THE LECTURES! Listening back to the recordings can help you remember the little information he puts on tests.
I had Mike for anatomy lab and he was great. The tests and assessments were pretty difficult, so beware, but he was available if you needed help. He's a really funny guy and definitely made lab enjoyable. He also really knows his stuff.
Mike is very caring and wants you to do the best you can do in that class. I would highly recommend that you do not skip classes as the tests are very lecture based. Make sure to take good notes for tests. I recommend Mike if you're willing to put in the work.
Mike is incredibly difficult but that is just Anatomy itself. Although the class is difficult it is manageable if you are willing to put in the work. Although attendance isn't mandatory, missing lectures is a sure fire way to fail mikes class. Mike is definitely not for the faint of heart but his class prepares you well for the rest of nursing.
Mike is a great professor, his lectures are heavy but he explains everything very well. One homework per chapter, you get full points just for competition but it is not a heavy thing on your grade so what really matters is only quizzes and exams. His quizzes and exams are very hard but if you study very very very much you would pass
There are only 3 exams with 1 being the final and 3 quizzes. There are assignments and pre-lab quizzes that you need to complete to pass. Mike is very to the point on what we need to do. Anatomy is a hard class, but Mike is very to the point on what we need to do. Mike makes all the exams and quizzes so if you can take his class I highly recommend.
Mike is very passionate about his love for anatomy, but he went too quick during lectures for me to grasp. he also wouldn't post his lecture PowerPoint online because he wants to students to "audio record and go back to listen again". the class material is hard by itself, but his teaching style, personally made it more difficult for me.
He was extremely rude, he said we were not smart.
Mike was very tough. I studied for about 45 minutes a day to keep up. He does not post lecture slides and wants you to record him. I am more of a visual learner so this was not very helpful for me. I attended every SI session, which was very helpful. Although, Mike does not tell them what is on the exam, or final like the other teachers here do.
Mike was a very tough professer. He does not post slides and tells you to take pictures or recording of the slidrs in class. when you go up to ask a question he was very intimidating and had a look of disdain which made you not even want to ask the question. he did not offer a very supporting environment but at least he is realistic and honest.
Mike was great. This class was very hard, especially since everyone in this class are non-science majors. His lectures were engaging, but he does not post of them and he goes really class. I started recording his lectures and it helped a lot. Start studying early and often! He definitely cares and spends time getting to know every student.
Mike's a very understanding professor who wants you to work hard & succeed. He genuinely has a passion for a&p and wants you to learn to love it. Even though it is a tough class, putting in the work, showing up, studying, and attending his office hours/SI are all ways in which you can succeed. I am grateful for Mike and all of his support.
I enjoyed having Mike for Anatomy Lecture! He is caring and wants his students to succeed and learn. As time goes on, you get used to how he teaches, and you will feel more confident as the year continues. For each exam, there is are extended response questions that he goes over and make sure to write down the answers and study those.
If you are nursing and you truly want to pass do not choose Mike as a professor. I happen to have to take him over the summer and it was truly a very hard experience. He told me to choose a different career I did not want. Which degraded me and disappointed me. His test is hard and his lecture notes are long. I wish I can say more.
Mike is a future left destroyer, and he shuts down people's dreams. He doesn't know how to properly teach to incoming classes. He's not there to help students fully succeed, He lets you down from the first lecture he posts, your morals will be discarded and ruined. He's an intimate and makes the environment tense. HE SHOULD NOT BE TEACHING PERIOD.
He is clearly passionate about the subject but made it SO much harder than it needed to be. You have to teach yourself everything outside of class, lecture is not engaging and hard to follow. I was failing by 1% and he offered no encouragement but instead told me I shouldn't study nursing. Do not recommend.
Mike's class can be tough, but he genuinely wants you to succeed. Stay engaged, use the textbook, and try tools like unstuck AI to prep for his challenging but fair exams. With effort, his support makes this course worthwhile.
His exams are really hard but he is willing to help if you're willing to ask questions.
Mike is an awesome instructor for lab! The class will be fast paced but as long as you come prepared you will be fine. Mike makes a fun learning environment with lots of jokes but also makes sure your questions are answered. You have to put in a lot of work if you want a good grade, but it is definitely achievable. Definitely take Mike!
Mike was great! I feel that he truly cared about every one of his students personally and academically. This class requires much studying and putting in work outside of class however, if you do the work, you will be fine! Go to class even if you don't feel like it. Connect with Mike, he appreciates it! GO TO EVERY OPEN LAB AND OFFICE HOURS!
