While Dr. Huang is very helpful and is always willing to go over homework problems during office hours, his lecture style is confusing and ineffective. However, he's very generous with grades. Go to office hours as much as possible for individual help. A lot of times, he'll have additional office hours if enough people need more help.

This guy is extremely helpful, he EVEN came on Fridays before the week of the exam so those who couldn't make it during regular office hours could ask questions & clarify doubts. Professor Huang is very helpful during office hours and class. He has very clear review sessions two days before a test, and he pretty much tells you all of the topics that will be covered on the test. His study guides are also very helpful. Two Midterms (20% each), Final (30%), HW (14%), Quizzes (16%) plus all the extra credit. Take him!

If you're ever having trouble immediately go to his office hours. He is really there to help and it will make so much more sense. Cengage homework was a must, most problems on the quizzes are pulled from there so do it beforehand. Pay attention and keep notes on everything you do in Excel to refer to later.

Dr. Huang really cares. Very laid back and cool. However he talks softly and is hard to hear. He also does not really explain things very well. He assumes everyone knows what stats are even if you have never taken a stats class. That being said he will help you if you go to office hours. Book was a waste of money just buy the access code.

Huang is a pretty cool guy. Everything you need to know on exam, he teaches it to you clearly. Ya they're hard, but every isds class is gonna be like that. He does practice exams, lets u have a cheat sheet, & gives u extra credit. There is homework but honestly its there to boost your grade up, plus he's helpful, honestly wish he was teaching 361B

He's a really great professor. If you don't understand anything he will help you with the material & homework at his office hours. He really knows what he's doing. And he gives extra credit. Isds isn't my strength but I still enjoyed his class. Great guy & human being. Definitely would take 361B with him.

Every friday morning I looked foward to going to his Friday morning class. He is so nice and funny! He really cares about his students. If you were always good at statistics like I am then you will do fine in this class. You do have to study to get the grade you want so don't slack off. Would take him again!!

He made ISDS 361A really easy to understand. He's willing to help students out and truly prepares you for the exams by telling you what to look out for. definitely recommend him.

Prof Huang is really nice and good at explaining the material. My only complaint is that he can be very hard to hear if you're near the back of the class so sit near the front! Not a lot of homework, but what there is isn't easy, studying is essential. All tests get a cheat sheet, which helps. Seems to enjoy helping students understand problems.

He is a really nice guy I wish he taught 361B as well! He is very passionate about the subject and if you pay attention/ask questions when you're lost, his lectures are easy to follow. It's important to go to class because he explains the material better than the power points. 4 exams, easy HW, exam 3 is toughest so try your best on the other 3.

Mr. Huang is an awesome professor! I took his class last semester and although it wasn't easy I passed. He is very helpful and kind. If you do not understand anything I suggest go to his office hours. I would definitely take this class again. Lectures can be a bit dry and sometimes it seems that he moves too fast, but he is a great professor!

Professor Huang knows what he's doing when he teaches you a concept. He also goes over everything in a lot of depth to help students understand the concepts and asks the class questions to make sure people are getting it. He gives you hints on how to study for the tests so take those to heart and practice (tests are standardized (82% of grade)).

He's a very good professor for this class. He is caring and wants you to succeed. 4 exams, 1 excel exam, and hw. There is some extra credit too. As long as you show up and pay attention you should get a good grade.

3 homework assignments, 3 exams, 1 excel exam, 5 excel homework assignments, and 1 short report writing. Good, but fair professor. The subject gets harder throughout the semester, so do well on the first exam. If you put in the effort, go to his lectures, and get feedback. You will pass the class.

This professor is absolutely fantastic. He really cares about the grades and well being of his students. He takes the time to explain things thoroughly and even goes out of his way to know which students need extra help. He also talks about practical life- from derivatives option trading to future careers and grad school. Amazing professor!

Solid Professor. If you've never taken STATS before, this class will be difficult for you. He has a quiet voice and a slight accent so his lectures can sometimes be dry. His lectures are not as clear. I'm just lucky I remember the material from high school. He's pretty chill and sometimes funny. I would take him again.

Professor Huang is super nice and will definitely work with you especially if you go to office hours. Highly recommend taking his class. Make sure you do all the assignments, labs, and quizzes. Only difficult part 4me was to write down all the different types questions for finding point estimates(given sigma or not) and hyp tests using sigma or not AND whether it ask 4 pop or sample.

Very chill professor, his lectures are simple to follow and he really helps with preparing you for exams. The lectures can be a bit boring but it worth it due to how much he actually helps by making the class manageable. Learning excel a bit more in depth was actually pretty useful.

80% of three exams, 8% of three homework, 10 % of Excel training and exam., 2% of a short essay. Cheatsheet can be used during exams. He is a solid professor and a good lecturer. I will highly recommend this professor.

Dr. Huang really wanted all of his students to excel and pass the class. Majority of the lecture was pretty bland. For extra credit, he wants a printed copy of the chapter slides which can take up a lot of paper. The exams are taken on Titanium and they were not so difficult if you went through the slides multiple times and made a good cheat sheet.

Dr. Huang uses past lectures for this semester. You have to go through the lectures yourself before class. He has students come in to lecture days to ask questions. There are 3 exams 2 projects hw for each chapter. He gives extra credit. Exams are not that bad as long as you study. Go over the pwpts + examples from pwpt many times & hw problems.

I attended all Mike's lectures, and let me tell you, I did not learn a single thing other than the fact that he likes stocks. I did a lot of self-studying through his material on titanium. Mike was also taking a class while teaching my class, so he didn't really help that much. He was accommodating when it came to giving us more time on assignments

Prof Huang graded in a timely manner so it's easy to know your standing in the class, this class is one that you must watch lectures and understand everything in depth. The final is cumulative so definitely pay attention and understand concepts or else you won't pass.

HW is through Cengage, unlimited attempts and easy. Lecture for class is only 60 minutes, but you MUST watch/review/study the PPs he uploads in order to learn and pass the tests. 1 project, 2 parts. Proctorio is used on all tests & 1 page notes allowed. Professor makes himself available to review questions on HW or tests.

This professor did not really teach , you have to figure it out on your own but he has office hours and offers SI. His lectures are useless and homework is pretty easy. It all depends how good at math you are and if you like teaching yourself. Material is more complex

The ISDS 361A class material is confusing, but professor Huang makes the material less confusing. Pay attention to his lectures because the homework is similar to it. He does help you to get good grades on your test. For the test, we had to use proctorial and I cheat sheet is allowed. He will answer any questions you asked.

ISDS is a challenging course but Dr. Huang made it super easy. He has good examples and his tests are very fair. GO TO SI!! It helped reinforce everything we learned in class. Homework is through cengage & he allows 1 sheet of notes front and back for exams. By going to SI and every class, I was able to do well. He's also kind and encouraging.

I never opened the textbook nor paid attention in class. Still managed to pull a B-. You can do this by paying attention to the slides and the pre-recorded lectures that Huang posts to his page. Easy content to follow and provides you with many examples. You get 3 exams, two complementary projects, excel assignments, and cengage homework as well.

A good choice for ISDS 361A. This class is not that easy, and it will be 10x harder if you skip lectures, so BE THERE for them, because he explains the concepts in class pretty well. The case study isn't that hard either; but, the instructions were somewhat vague.

it's a chill class to me. the lecture is very boring but necessary since he provides things that are not included in the powerpoint. there are 2 papers but very easy. my class was on zoom so he required at least half of the class attended, otherwise he won't record the lecture.

I thoroughly enjoyed Dr. Huang's class this past fall. I attended almost every session and was able to excel by studying my notes and the provided power points. Though the final was a bit hard, Dr. Huang's other exams and assignments were very doable with use of excel and one page of notes. I would definitely recommend!

This Professor was one of my favorite professors at CSUF so far. He has a clear way of teaching and goes through many examples and problems during lecture. If you have a questions, don't be afraid to ask him. For exams I went over practice problems and SI meetings helped ALOT. His SI was amazing and gave us mock exams to study from.

This professor is amazing! He makes learning how to use Excel very easy. He also gives out many extra credit opportunities and allows you 2 sheets of paper to make a cheat sheet which makes exams very easy if you fill out your cheat sheet well. The course consists of 4 exams, 1 project, and hw. The project though is very easy and is individual.

Professor Huang is one of the best professors I've ever taken at CSUF. He genuinely cares for his students and his teaching is so understandable considering this subject is pretty difficult. Attendance is not mandatory, however he gives extra credit randomly, so definitely worth going to class. He lets you have 2 front and back pages for exams. Prof.Huang explains the material effectively for students to understand, has the patience for students and you can email when you're having a difficult time with a question. Other professors here don't compare and Prof.Huang is one of thee best. So if you have a hard time with math, take Huang cause he'll explain and wants to see students succeed!

Good at teaching the topics, 2 midterms and cumulative final. Provides plenty of resources and material to ensure success. You do have to study and understand the material to succeed. Allows 2 cheat sheets on every test including the excel test, so 4 pgs total. He offered 2 chances for extra credit. HW is on Cengage with unlimited attempts.

2 exams the final is NOT cumulative, 6 quizzes, 6 HW, 1% extra credit offer. Attendance isn't mandatory but he does care about it & go to class to ask questions on unresolved problems. The videos help a lot (it's normal to re-watch them various times). ISDS361B problems have more steps involved so have patience when doing the work.

This class is basically a stat class that utilizes excel as main calculating tools. It's gonna be a breeze if you hav already taken statistics. Organized class with lots of materials and resources. Prof. is the GOAT, take him, fight for a spot, you're not gonna regret it. 1 excel exam, 3 stat exams, 1 paper (2 phases), and hw.

The best professor I had. He genuinely cares about the students and the material he is teaching. He wants us to understand the material clearly and is very approachable when you ask for help. I enjoy that he makes lectures interactive. I know the material may be heavy but do not be afraid to ask for help and meet him during office hours!

Great professor, very fast pace going through lectures but offer 3% of EC if come to class. HW, excel is roughly 15% of total grades so it helps a lot. Overall, do the study guides and tests will be easy B and up.

Lectures are long if you are taking this class once a week! Hard to hear him at times as he wears a mask so if try and sit in the front row if you have trouble hearing, as his classes are huge. He does give E.C. to those that come to his lectures and on the test he lets you 2 blank sheets for the tests (front & back = 4 sides) so take adv. of that!

He is cool, but it was kinda hard to follow lectures. It was a lot of information so I went to tutoring and they really helped me!! The tutors would give mock exams and it was pretty close to the actual exams.

I think ISDS361 A & B just come more naturally to some people than others. Personally I aced this class and it was on the back burner all semester. He literally lets you have open note open book open everything. Even allows you to use a second device. I don't know how this class can be that hard. He literally gives you sample exams and open note.

Open note on every quiz & test. I love this dude. I had him for both a & b. He's so funny. Yea isds361 can be a lil tricky for most of us but I promise that open note comes in clutch. He gives a sample exam which is 90% similar and other questions come from hw or slides so write ur steps down for how u did the hw. Hw has 10 attempts for each prob.

Fuze was awesome. He always made the material comprehensible. Also gave multiple EC opportunities to make up for missed points. Had like 6 chapter quizzes and 2 exams. Pretty much all that material was covered and discussed so there weren't many curveballs. I got a B- in 361a and an A in 361b and I think he's one of the reasons. Take him!

Mike Huang is a great professor, cares about his students, and is a very chill professor. Loved the way his class was structured for ISDS 361A and 361B as he has the lectures posted already on his canvas so you can watch at your own time/pace. Material and lessons are straightforward to follow. 10/10 would recommend if you're going to take 361B/A.

One of the best professors at CSUF, and certainly the best within ISDS. Encourages participation, lets us work on HW in class with peers, and truly tries to have the content reach his students. He doesn't just read off the slides like many, he explains content practically and is very repetitive with his hands-on methods/problems. Can't say enough.

Such a cool dude. You absolutely need to show up to every class and pay full attention and do well on the two exams cause there's not much you can do to make up for doing poorly on one exam. Huang makes the material so understandable and even enjoyable. You'll need to buy webassign for the HW. Highly recommend.

(ONLINE CLASS) Overall great professor. The best ways to study for his exams are to redo the practice exams and HW problems. His pre-recorded lectures are long and was kinda boring. He is a real chill and nice dude though, if you went up to him in office hours. He offers extra credit and had TAs do the weekly discussions.

TAKE HIM! The professor is super caring and is always willing to help you out. His mock exams are 80% like his exam, so study those and his slides. He does not curve, but offers EC. Test heavy as there is 1 midterm and 1 final. He allows for 5 pages of notes on the exam. Each chapter has a quiz, but they were easy (study the slides for those).

Dr Huang really wants his students to succeed and goes above and beyond to help. Recorded video lectures make it easy to learn, and the extra credit opportunities can save your grade. I took him for 361A as well which seemed a little more difficult than 361B. Just put in a little time and effort and you'll pass. Dr Huang is the GOAT!

Class consistents of 7 QZ, 2 exam, and Hw. He's very generous with extra credit, this professor makes it easy to earn a high grade if you stay consistent. Exams are tough especially the final so study hard. He provides lecture videos, extends deadlines, and is very supportive. You don't need perfect math skills, just effort. I'd take him again.

I'd definitely retake this professor; he is pretty chill. The sample exams are like the exam concept-wise, so learn concepts, not problems. He allows cheat sheets for all exams and quizzes. You get what you put in; if you need someone to hold your hand through the material, he isn't the one for you. Self-learners, take him!

Honestly one of the best professors I have had yet! This could easily be a diabolical class, but he makes it so easy to understand and helps reinforce it by having you do in order to make sure you know it. He gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit, especially if you just show up to all his lectures. Take him! You wont regret it!

One of the best Professors at CSUF. Prof.Huang was patient and provided all the tools neccessary to pass his class. If you want an A, attend his lectures and do the excel problems with him. 6 HW, 2 exams (includes Final). No surprises. Straight forward. Take his class, you'll have fun!
