Great teacher, gives good example. Teachers downfall is very anal on notation, showing your work etc. His like teaching you in military style. hard class if you are not a math person. but if do homework and get help from math lab you will pass his class

His classes are very challenging, but he is always there to answer any questions that you might have and is very patient. He is one of the most outstanding professors to date.

In the beginning his class seems challenging but it is only because no one asks questions. It is crucial to ask questions if you don't understand because he will help by giving examples, and going over the steps. It is important to do the homework that he gives because it is practice of what is being taught in class. He is very intelligent.

He stresses the importance of math, especially because we use it everyday and if we get a job we need to know this stuff or we could create problems. He goes over the problems thoroughly and gives us homework problems to work on. He knows what he is talking about and is willing to help in anyway he can. Mike has a unique way of teaching statistics. His method of teaching actually makes a lot of sense. He translates statistical language into a more understandable mathematical language. I really appreciate his translating from one entirely different realm of mathematical concepts to another. I am speaking as an illiterate of statistics.

Wish I had this teacher in high school. Gives helpful tips not found in books. Let's you use cheat sheet on tests but may not be helpful if you move to another teacher who expects you to remember formulas. Emailing homework okay but wish it was sent faster. After Thursday's class we wouldn't get it until Sunday night-sometimes lesson forgotten.

Mike has improved alot since I had him last year. He allows notes for exams and clearly demostrates math lessons. No need for tex books at the Waianae Campus...Saved some $$$. Helpful in instruction.

Math is not my subject but Mr. Lee makes it a lot less daunting. He explains everything very well and uses relevant examples to help the class understand better. Super approachable and encourages you to speak up if you are confused. Doing the homework and study guides he provides is recommended but not mandatory.

Mr. Lee is the best math teacher I've ever had. This is my 2nd semester with him and I plan on taking his 103 course as well. Attendance is not mandatory but recommended and you don't need a textbook but it helps. His practice tests are also very helpful for the exams. I highly recommend him as your next math teacher.

this class in general kind of difficult if you're more used to algebraic problems. attend class & pay attention you should be fine. Mike is very helpful. kind of has an accent, but its able to understand. there's lots of quizzes but they aren't worth much & about 3 exams. if you're having trouble, just ask questions & he'll gladly be of help!

Good Teacher! Since i took summer school, it was very fast paced. It was challenging. If your a quiet person and is shame to speak up, you better before you get lost/confused. This professor is amazing! Math is my worst subject and my least favorite, but after taking his 73 & 83 course and actually PASSING(with an A!!!)I have change my mind. He only gives 2 exams and a final. Gives plenty quizzes but they don't help your grade that much so do well on the exams. Also allows a cheat sheet for exams. He teaches really fast. Make sure to do the homework he emails. But he is always willing to answer questions even during class.

He has Quizes for every chap. maybe once a week, but majority come from the exams, and he lets you use what he calls a "cheat sheet" and calculator!

Math 115 (6) Always responds right away questions via email and are always clear and helpful. Prof. goes slow through problems and encourages questions.

He is a very good teacher. Answers questions very good. But listen and pay attention. Only grades quizzes and exams, but quizzes are very good. Cheat sheets are allowed on exams, but no examples. Be sure to GO TO class, or else you will be lost.

Mike teaching style is unique. You need to be in class in order to pick up content material and concepts. Uses instructional materials as examples that are comprehensive moreso than reviewing text material ~ a plus in my book!

mike's teaching informs us how these formulas are applied in the real world. i like his style of teaching and he explains by using colored pens and breaking down the steps thoroughly. he is also very strict on making sure every problem is answered in detail. i work through each problem showing every step. it makes total sense.

He is the teacher to take if you need stats, but be warned, this class is not for poor test takers. 95% of your grade is made up of three exams. While he is a nice guy and for the most part a good professor, more explanation of concepts and a more well rounded grading system would be a wonderful addition to his methods

Good teacher! Your grade is all dependent on your test. He gives a total of 3 Test and a quiz almost every class, very easy though and only worth 5% of your grade so not a big deal. Only complaint I have is that the class is so heavily weighted on test I wish he would give more points toward his quizzes. Overall a great class

From your Math 115 (Statistics) TR 1:30-2:45 class: Keep up the good work! :D You are so patient with all the questions we ask and help us with example problems on the board. I like how you use different colored chalks so it is easier to read the board. Cheat sheets are helpful for all of those equations we have to use on the exams. ^_^

Attending class is vital for understanding the work. He is clear and true to his schedule. Email comes kinna late but homework is not graded so its not an issue. Exams are exactly what you practice. I highly recommend him for MATH 115...as long as you go to class! he is funny too!

Mike Lee, good teacher!! I liked the way he taught; explained good to a way that you could understand, and if he saw that the class wasnt getting it he would go over it again with more examples. (CONT)the only thing I would have wanted differently is a point by point grading system. Theres quizes but doesnt count to much for your grade. Also optional HW should be offered for extra points to help boost grades.

Statistics is no fun, but I left his class getting it. he really prepares you for exams, completely setting his students up for success. Three exams make up basically your entire grade. So beware if you are not a test-taker. Cheat sheats and practice tests are key.

Before taking Mike's class, I hated Math. Now however, Mike makes math easier to learn. There is no text book required, no homework that counts against your grade and practice exams. He is helpful and fair. I would reccomend him for Math 103.

taking this class as a summer session Mr. Lee is very helpful and makes use of all time. I extremely love the fact we do not have to buy the book and that he uses emailing for hw assignments. Best class taken so far! There is no text book required, everything is e-mailed to you so it is very convenient. As long as you do the homework (which is also not required, but I do recommend you do), you should be able to pass the class with flying colors =)

Simple, just attend class regularly, practice the assigned homework problems (which are not collected nor graded) & you should do well! Daily quizes are given but only cover a small % of your grade. Textbook is not required (you save $) rather homework is emailed daily (not the notes) so attendance is highly recommended to learn the material.

Pretty chill summer class. Organized and on time. Mike's very helpful if you need it. HW is given everyday but optional. Quizzes everyday which is based on the HW. Teaching is pretty fast pace. Although i do wish he would go a little slower so his students can understand clearly and catch on. But overall his calss is good and fun learning.

I think that the email hw system is great. The only problem I have had so far is that the last worksheets looked different (layout/written etc) and it took a bit for me to figure it out. Otherwise I am really loving how this class is progressing and I don't feel rushed.

Professor Lee Knows his stuff. He goes by how fast the class is learning and if you have a question he will go through the problem right there. Attendance is not mandatory, but he doesn't use a book so you need to learn everything in class.

He knows his material but teaches fast. As a student like myself, I'd like for him to go more into detail about how we are getting our answers or go step-by-step on how we do an equation. He expects us to know what he is talking about but doesn't really teach on how to get the answer.

We don't use textbooks :) though it's mandatory to attend class since he provides examples for the quizzes and exams. Sure you won't be able to make up the quizzes, but they're only worth 5% anyway. Imagine a Math Class where you don't need to purchase an overpriced and useless book. I would recommend this class to any student who needs to take Math 103. Take his class you will not regret it!

best teacher ever...couldnt really understand math with anyone else...and he makes you take the practice exams before the real ones so your not psyched out so much when the real one comes...and great teaching style!...he really breaks it down for you if you cant get a problem and explains everything in a way everyone can understand!

Mr. Lee is a great teacher! He tells us to keep coming to class! To never quit! He's awesome. Even if we fail 2 exams but comes to class everyday, he still believes in us and believes that we'll do great! He believed in ME. The exit exam was given to us on paper which means we did it ourselves WITHOUT the help of teachers or Alpha! It was GREAT!

Its an easy class,as long as you attend. My Advice:Use his practice exams as a guide, dont assume your going to do well on the exams because you got every problem correct on the practice (I made this mistake). Make sure to check your graded exam, he sometimes takes points away for ridiculous things and problems you got correct.

Hate math and still do but Prof Mike makes math understandable. If you don't understand the problem he takes the time to go over it with you. His practice exam is VERY useful and it helped me a lot to prepare for the real exam. I would highly recommend him if you are deciding on taking a math class.

Great teacher! Very helpful and understandable! His practice tests are really helpful too! Although homework is not counted, doing it will be a huge help. I would recommend people to take his math class. I had an overall good experience.

Great math teacher. I had prior knowledge of the subject so this was a nice refresher. Didn't need to do the homework, just went to class n took notes. That's it. I like that practice exams were given... seemed to be beneficial for almost the entire class :D

I enjoy this class although the course material is strange. I recommend Mr Lee! He's funny & understanding, also willing to help those who may need it. He gives sends us worksheets via email to help us prep for quizzes & exams. There's no textbook required for this class which is great so you don't need to spend money.

Mike takes his time when he teaches. It has good and bad consequences, the class was slow but informative. However, there were times when it was necessary for him to show additional steps when solving equations on the board, which only reflects his passion and patience for this field of study. I enjoyed his class and learned much from him. Grade A+

I took his summer class which is fast by nature, but he spends a lot of time on topics making sure his students understand them before moving on. He's a really nice guy and one of the most patient and thorough professors I've had. His exams are almost identical to the practice ones he hands out the day before, so be sure to study them!

i've HATED math all my life, but i REALLY love this class. professor lee cares about his students and he's really nice. the subject itself is way different than any other math you'll ever learn, but it's fun! easy quizzes only on fridays, exams aren't long, hw isn't required but it really helps to do it. definitely recommend!!!

Very helpful, makes the class interesting. Be sure to attend class everyday though or you will be lost.

Really enjoyed this class. As long as you come to class and pay attention you should do well. It is rather easy to potentially fall behind if you don't attend class as there is no textbook but Mike is happy to help out students and really seems to care if students are doing well in class and understanding concepts. Overall I liked Mike for Stats & NOT purchasing a textbook. He encourages those who were having trouble to stick w/ it. I'm so glad I did bc I got a B after doing poorly on the first 2 exams. Be open-minded, flexible, and ask questions if you don't understand. Mr. Lee is willing to help you..better office hours would be ideal, math lab is great!

very helpfull

The material in Math 100 was easy to follow and were not difficult if you attend class regularly. The use of a textbook was not needed since all the materials were taught in class. Overall this class was simple to follow and great. Even received an A for this class.

Great professor. Explains everything completely and if you miss class he tends to go over what was covered in the previous class. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't show up to class. No textbook = gotta go to class.

Really good instructor, I'm glad i didn't have to pay for a book ! Mike made the subject clear and easy to understand.

Professor Lee is one of the BEST math teachers I've ever had. He knows what we college students go through and difficulties of paying. Therefore, he doesn't require a text book for his classes! Can I say awesome?! He is very, very clear on what is going to be on our exams and gives ample amounts of examples. I recommend taking him!

This was a fun and helpful class. Not having a textbook was helpful, not only for cost, but for learning as well. There weren't any complicated instructions to have to decipher. As long as you come to class you'll know exactly what to do and you can use the homework to practice.

Pro: The instructor is professional, encouraging and understanding. No textbook for class is great! All lectures and emails are clear and Manageable. Con: Maybe a different method of taking 'Practice Exam' answers from the board. How about a "ready made answer sheet" that would be given if the student has finished their practice exam.

Extremely easy to understand and to get help when needed.

It was great not needing to spend the extra money on a text book. All of the class lectures and work were sufficient enough to understand what was being taught and to complete the homework easily.

In my honest opinion, Mr. Lee is one of my favorite math professors/teachers I have ever had. The way he teaches to the students is very understanding. He always offered to help and try to get the students to understand the lecture as much as possible. Not buying a book was most definitely a plus in my part. Do your HW and study and you'll be fine.

Not using a textbook was fine with me. Saved me some money and attending class gave me enough information to do well on exams. He is not a professor who tries to trick students. He'll let you know exactly what's expected in class and on exams and teach you all you need to know to do well.

Mr. Lee is one of the best professors I've come across! He does not require any textbook which is a plus!! His lectures is comprehensible and his door is always open for those who may be struggling. Mr. Lee is a great professor! Always available to help if needed. He may give quizzes a lot but those quizzes are very helpful for his exams! The class isn't too hard just show up, take notes and do the homework and you'll be fine :)

Professor Lee is one of the best math teacher's I've ever had. He loves the subject and you can tell. He has a sense of humor and explains in a casual tone. He doesn't just explain the how, but WHY - like a Confucius of math (he's Chinese so it's even funnier). ALWAYS available for help and stays after class to talk with students.

Really down to earth, makes lectures interesting and go by fast. Weekly quizzes (easy 1-2 questions). PRACTICE EXAMS (1 class before real exam, easier but almost identical version of real exam). 3 EXAMS (10 questions max).

The textbooks were overwhelming with unneeded information that made the lesson sometime unclear, but Mr. Lee was always able to clear the clutter to highlight the necessary procedures that we needed to learn.

Mike is a unique, yet very effective instructor. He teaches you the basics and allows you the opportunity to research further if you feel the need. I would like to see him write his own lecture/text book for Statistics. I believe this would make his class perfect.

Mr.Lee is a great teacher.I really liked his teaching style and the paste he worked at.The course was kind of tricky but the way he explained it helped for the most part. He allows cheat sheets which help,but don't rely only on them because you're going to actually need to understand what you're doing. He is willing to help you as much as possible.

This is my 2nd time having Prof Lee for Math. I took him before for M103 & there's a reason why I took him again for M100. His way of teaching is easy to follow & understand. He doesn't move too fast on material like some teachers do. He doesn't require textbooks which saves us money and it's less to carry. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend Prof Lee.

A very unique method of teaching but all together, interesting and insightful. Probably my favorite math teacher I've taken thus far, because of his helpfulness and clarity. Practice Exams are also a HUGE help and having no textbooks are always great. I recommend this class highly.

I really enjoy the way my math 50c professor conducts the class. It's been really difficult for me with all that's been going on this semester with work, kids etc. Im unsure if Im going to pass, but if not Im more than happy to have Mr. Lee as my professor in the near future.

great teacher. he teach the lessons kinda fast (if your slow in math, like me)its either see him after class or going to math lab.i strongly suggest that you exert extra effort on going to math lab to get the lecture again. He's exam are not that hard either.

We didn't have a text book for this class, which I really liked. If you show up for class, and take notes, then it is impossible to fail. You don't even have to take the quizzes that he gives every week, and you will still pass. He's a good teacher, just show up and do your homework (which isn't graded), and you'll be fine.

The professor at first when he is teaching us a new topic it is confusing. But after talking to him on a one on one level it helps me to understand the math more. We did not use a textbook, which is good for me because then I didn't have to worry about buying another book.

The online exit exam, in my opinion, is a waste of time. I understand that we needed to be assessed on everything the course offered but it wasn't a very good decision to make it not mandatory and only make that known at the end of the semester. The professor was awesome though!!

He explained very well on the subjects we covered, and provided a good number of extra credit quizzes.He wasn't boring and he didn't stray off topic too much.

Wonderful prof.Some topics were hard to grasp, but the teacher was extremely helpful and clear.Takes the time to explain without rushing and never makes you feel stupid for not understanding. No text needed.Classes are lectures. Helps if you take good notes,don't miss class,do your homework and make organized cheat sheets which is allowed.

Where do I start, the teacher is great, and he makes math CRYSTAL clear. The only thing I did not like about the class is the EXIT exam. To pass the class you need a(C),but you need a (85) on the exit exam(but you get unlimited tries before the semesters is over)and if you do not pass the EXIT you fail the class......

Mike is the "BEST" math teacher I've ever had. Took him for math 103 also. Cheat sheet is very helpful for test's but the questions may be kinda tricky. Everything was great except the department final. I scored a 76% and received no credit for it. I wouldn't have to re-take this class if it wasn't for the department final.

Mike Lee is one of the best professors I've learned from by far. He is awesome at teaching; thorough at instructing new material, very approachable, and makes sure that everyone is grasping the new information accurately. Although we didn't use a textbook at all, I appreciate Mike's countless examples he provides thru hw and practice exams! :)

Very helpful

Professor Mike is a Phenomenal. He's patient, through, and he always gives a practice exam to help us study. The only thing we have to do is pay attention in class & you'll get an A. Everything is spelled out clearly during lectures. Homework is optional. Easy A!

he reviews the previous lesson before starting a new one. Itʻs great not to spend money on books because he teaches the subject very clear. He makes it easier by having examples on youtube. Professor Mike Lee is such a great professor. There are a lot topic that are fascinating. He is helpful, and he explains things clearly. He a does review before an exam. Also, a textbook is not required, which saves you a lot money.

He really cares about you and makes sure that you understand and his door is always open. He is a must take professor! Highly recommend!!

He allows you to begin the course early- as soon as registered. Write out everything perfectly. He marks off lazy work, even if answer correct. Not hard to pass the class if you put in the work. Don't put off your quizzes to the last minute. He allows a cheat sheet during proctored exams. My grade is only a reflection of slacking off.
