Tests are out of the book with some really weird/tough questions, they are not easy. He does curve A LOT though, I probably should have finished with a C+, but with all of the curving I finished with a B+. Guy is pretty funny/cool, actually went to class even though you can easily skip. Just don't take tests for granted.

Hands down he is AWESOME! Class consisted of lectures (talk alot, he remembers you if you do) and a few pop quizzes to check for attendance. Tests are essays that cover what we talked about in class. Think outside of the box, he loves it. Great professor, hilarious and easy A. Recommend!!!

Attendance is not mandatory, but professor is awesome so I went anyways! Extremely good sense of humor and one of the few classes I enjoyed going to. Tests were a little challenging but if you read the book and study the powerpoints you'll do fine. Decided to minor in sociology after taking this class!

Great professor. Considered changing my major to Sociology after taking his class. Attendance not mandatory but you should go to class. Great sense of humor, made me laugh often. Tests we'rent too difficult but def. not easy either. You need the book, some test questions come from the reading he assigns. Overall great class and great professor!

I took an online class with him. Be prepared to be extremely flexible, because he changes dates on things that are due and with little notice. However, achieving a high A was extremely easy. All papers, and no tests.

Statistics sucks period. The stuff you learn is hard. Class is not mandatory but you do need to go to understand the material. He understands that this is a mandatory class for sociology majors and most of us arent ever going to use the stuff we learn. Just talk to him and go to his office hours,he is extremely helpful.

I found this class to be really interesting. There's no exams what so every, however, you do have 5 one page reactions papers to type (single space that is) and a 10 page paper (where you have to pick a someone from the class). Overall, this class is fairly easy in my opinion. Must buy the book for sure to answer the discussion questions.

Really enjoyed this class and the professor. Liked the format of the class (weekly discussions due Wednesday, 2 replies due Friday, quizzes due by Saturday). Exams were easy but people complained a lot. Must have book because exams come from it. If you know how to use a textbook's resources properly, you can ace the exams like I did. I recommend.

This class was far more interesting than I had originally anticipated. Professor Loree chose great articles to read, videos to watch, and excerpts from the textbook that inspired me to study beyond the required work. There's a good bit of writing, but it's not a challenge when the subject is intriguing. I highly recommend this professor.

This online class is very interesting. Quiz,2 exams,discussions and 1 analysis paper. He's pretty fair and extend the due dates sometimes because of technical problems. Nice professor and answers email right away.

Online for Race and Ethnicity. Great Professor! The amount of coursework was manageable. The quizzes were a bit challenging as they were very specific questions from the text. But, the professor uploads ppts AND he uploads an audio file of himself talking about the chapter which was helpful and more than one would expect from an online class.

Took his Medical Sociology Class Online. Grade Breakdown(4 exams worth 60% of your grade, 10 quizzes worth 20% of your grade and 10 discussions worth 20% of your grade) Quizzes are much harder than the exams and when studying for the exams make sure to look over the quizzes, it helps alot! He was very nice and very helpful. Got an A, best of luck!

His class is not hard if you read and listen to his lectures. 5 quizzes, 3 discussion posts, annotated bibliography, midterm, final. I would take another class with this professor. Assignments are locked until closer to the due dates but the directions were given from the start of the semester.

Statistics is not usually a fun class and I was dreading it but with professor loree it was bearable! I have always hated math and passed this class with an A! You are required to do weekly homework and quizzes but nothing to crazy and he gives detailed lectures explaining material. Loved him, and will be taking again!

It's a really interesting class and Prof. Loree is awesome. He is funny, insightful and runs a smooth class. I highly recommend taking whatever you can from him.

So glad I took this class. Social theory can be a difficult concept to grasp but professor Loree made it really enjoyable and simple to understand. His lectures are awesome. The work load isn't difficult if you make sure to go over the assigned chapters. If you have a passion for sociology and enjoy a dry sense of humor you'll be a happy student.

Prof Loree is not difficult at all. Online class. Read the textbook! Weekly quizzes, not difficult if you've read the chapters. Exams every 3 chapters or so, very easy if you've read the chapters. Discussions are graded more harshly. No homework. NO EXTRA CREDIT! Overall, fairly easy class.

Class consists of weekly quizzes, 4 exams (no cumulative), and an annotated bibliography. He has pre-taped lectures to watch in addition to text. Some of the questions on the exam seemed like random "hidden" sentences and not main concept ideas. Overall, really enjoyed the class.

Honestly Professor Loree is all about helping you pass his class. I've taken at least 3 courses with him (SYA 3400, SYA 4300, SYA 4450), and during each course he's helped everyone pass. His door is literally always open to students. Great professor. Down to Earth. Definitely recommend taking him for your core sociology classes.

Best Professor of all time!!!! I've taken him for 4 Sociology courses, and have loved every single one! He is a great professor who cares that students actually. Learn in his classes. He's actually also very funny! I would encourage anyone to take him. He should seriously win UCF's best professor award, if that's even a category.

Also known as Michael Loree. Quizzes Q's are in the order of the book, but pay attention to the wording. Definitely listen to the lectures. I wouldn't say tough grader but the point system can make it challenging to get an A. Responsive to emails and if mistakes were made by the quiz, but it might take a couple days to a week.

Theory was a difficult class for me and I didn't pass the first time I took it, (with a different prof) I retook theory with Prof L and was a breeze 5 question quiz and discussion every week as well as attendance points, one final project at the end of the semester instead of exam. Besides for being at west campus this class was a great experience.

I had Mike for the three core Sociology courses. He is awesome! Very helpful. Gives feedback on how you are doing. Does expect quality work from his students. Is very available for helping out with questions and material that may be confusing. He has an enormous amount of patience. He is funny as well :)

Not bad for a Summer B class for a first timer. Allows you to work a week ahead. One quiz and one discussion per week. 5 quizzes total, 2 exams, 3 discussions total.

So far I've had this guy for 2 different semesters, (social theory, applied stats, and research methods) and Although neither of these classes are easy to pass, HE makes it worth your time, money and effort to take him. I will forever remember him as the most awkwardly intelligent man to teach at UCF, I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

This guy is sarcastic and has a dry sense of humor. If you like that, you'll love him! He knows his stuff for sure and he's always willing to help you if you're stuck on a problem or two. I HATE math in general, but he makes this stuff so easy to grasp. You'll have to work, but it's an easy course overall. Take Mike, you will not regret it!

I took Mr. Loree for Medical Sociology online and if you keep track on all the due assignments such as quizzes, exams, and discussion posts, you'll pass with flying colors! The material isn't too hard, and Mr. Loree is especially caring when it comes to the students and their grades. Love this class and wouldn't mind taking it again!

I took his course summer 2018. He is amazing! I loved that he encouraged me when I was feeling bad about my first test those same words pushed me to do better. He was always available and returned my emails the same day sometimes within an hour.

Never use the textbook, still passed with an A. All quiz answers and exam answers can be found online so you will have no problems.

Best sociology professor i've taken at UCF. He makes this class super straight to the point, he always responds to emails quick, and the material is always accessible. Took this class online the book isn't really required since he always posts powerpoints every week for each lecture. Definitely recommend this professor! He is awesome!

Very easy class if you put in some effort and pay attention to due dates. I took this as a 6-week course and never felt overwhelmed. He gives great feedback and engaged with me in an interesting conversation on one of my paper submissions. The material is actually really interesting and I'd love to take another similar course with him if I could.

Prof Loree was a great professor for this class, easy A. Class consists of weekly quizzes, occasional discussions, and three total papers. Papers are graded easily, I received 100 on all, exam and quiz answers can be found through textbook and powerpoints. Even though class was online, Loree made the class interesting and I enjoyed learning.

At first, I was scared because tests are out of 10 points and quizzes are out of 1 but I soon learned that quizzes are word for word from the textbook and the tests are just the quizzes and a few new questions. Quiz or discussion due each week, easy stuff. You have to write three 600 word papers which are also easy and your choice of topic

I have taken Loree for 4 different classes, For research methods and data Anaylsis he provides lectures VIA videos and they are extremely helpful. His grading is fair the only frustrations ive ran into is how long it takes to get grades back and delayed replies to emails, in his defense he teaches alot of classes at once.

I took his class online, so I can't say much about his personality, but what I experienced online was great. He was very helpful and if you had questions about your grade he replied quickly and would help you out of you presented a fair case for yourself. He also helped me out when I accidentally missed a discussion post which so dope lol.

Amazing all around. very flexible when the pandemic hit and very caring. Although debatable, my only minor criticism would be that you could sense a bit of bias in the material/assignments. But take him!

Great professor, makes the material easier to understand. Helps better understand how to complete assignment, are currently taking him for a second class and will be taking him for another class in the future.

Definitely recommend. Took this course Spring 20 so it we dealt with the transition with COVID-19. Even though the course was already online, prof allowed extra time to turn in rough draft. Provided clear and concise instructions for papers and left comments so you knew what to correct.

10 question quizzes on every chapter, but are accessible as soon as the course opens so you can get them out of the way. Exams were also very easy and open notes. There were 2 papers that I had to write, but they were also super easy and I did them both on the day that they were due (48/50 for paper 1 and 50/50 for paper 2)

Very interesting class. Does not expect much from you which is nice. Just watch his lectures. Quizzes are from lectures, tests are from lectures and quizzes.

Professor Loree is such an understanding educator. He's very kind, laid back and always gives feedback on assignments so you can improve your work.

Take him! The class is easy/pleasant. Great course to take if you are taking other difficult science classes and need a lighter courseload to accompany them. Couple essays, just follow rubric/guidelines and you'll do fine!

He is awesome!! His lecture recordings are great and he can be really funny sometimes. There are 4 discussions and 3 writing assignments that aren't difficult at all. One quiz a week that is very straight forward from the chapters. Easy A, highly recommend.

Clear grading criteria and one of the best professors I have taken at UCF. He actually cares about students and it shows. The work is very easy you just have to pay attention to due dates.

This professor is amazing. I would turn something in early and if the the grade was 18/20 he would give me instant feedback and told me how to fix it to get a 20/20. He is a really caring professor and very easy going. The work load heavy bc of it being a capstone but this professor is worth it.

I've had Professor Loree for a total of 4 classes now and he was great in each one. Assignments are clear, he gives great feedback and is willing to work with you if you need help. He really cares about his students and making sure they succeed.

I have taken this professor several times in different courses... I can't stress enough how caring and good Professor Loree is!! He is dedicated for you to pass! Professor Loree was super sweet. He uploads videos, notes, and powerpoints for all material and helps you as much as possible. He offered some extra credit and gave us a few freebie points. One exam we didnt even take. Very nice guy.

Ok, Michael Loree, he's one of the best professors out there! The class is NOT easy. But Professor Loree he is an easy outgoing guy that can give you feedback and to re-do your work. Prepare to be stressed about the last project! With the whole Sociology departmenet. But I got an A, as long as you are doing your work you should get an A!

Don't procrastinate or this class will overwhelm you. All of the work is progressive and if you fall behind or don't understand the concepts it's very difficult to catch up again. Homeworks and projects take multiple days to weeks to complete so don't open it up the day it's due; you will get burned.

10/10 enjoyed this class and prof, 6 quizzes, 3 reaction papers, a few discussions, and an annotated bib as final assignment. This class is structured really nicely and if you do the work you will pass. He was very helpful and created video lectures to go along with course materials. His ppts were not super helpful on quizzes but still made do.

So kind. He is VERY laid back and understanding; however, you are still expected to finish your work. One thing was that some of his instructions are very generic, so it can be hard to know what he wants. That being said, he is always willing to answer questions and help you understand the assignments. You get in the rhythm with his assignments.

Great professor. Always answers question and explains things clearly. Be prepared to read, this course has a lot of reading, but Loree is phenomenal and I'm glad I took his course.

For being a 6 week course the class was doable. There are two quizzes every week based on the textbook and two writing assignments, I found the textbook more useful than his videos as he is reading from the ppts the whole time. His grading scale is not the best because a 92.5% is an A-.

I loved this class. It has super easy assignments and tests. What you read in the chapter appears in the quizzes and exams. The professor is also very responsive and simply asks you to communicate if you run into any problems. I was able to find the textbook online as a PDF for cheap, and that worked out great (it is required).

He's hilarious. Read the textbook if he doesn't have the lecture videos available, because that's just the textbook reading summarized for the chapter. 4 exams, 2 papers (3-5 pgs), and 5 discussions.

It was overall a fun and interesting class. Each week there's quiz from the textbook/ppt. he gives and they can be a bit confusing. Same with the exams. It took me a bit of time to adjust and find the right way to do well on the quizzes and exams. Definitely read the textbook and take notes. He gives good feedback on the writing assignments.

Prof. Loree was a pretty chill person. He posted recorded lectures that are more of an overview of the chapter and he also provided a ppt to go along with it. Definitely read the book chapters since most weekly quizzes came directly from the book. There are plenty of other assignments that balance your grade so you're not too worried about exams.
