He started off as a tough guy, but i think that was just to gain respect. He ended up being really cool. But a lot of work. there's Always a paper due plus quizzes and 2 tests. if u want to be lazy, dont take him, but if ur motivated, hes a good teacher

highest grade u can get in this class is a B+. and that's only if ur really lucky and get 100 on the 70 question midterm. the finals even harder, so even if u study and go to class all the time and take good notes and get A's on every paper and every quiz... u Still probably wont get an A. if ur ok with that, then i would def. recomend this class

His tests come straight from the textbook. Midterm and final both 70 questions so you can mess up a few. IF YOU WANT TO IMPROVE YOUR WRITING USE WHAT HE WRITES ON YOUR PAPERS!!! My papers went from a C to an A. he tells you exactly what to change!!! I recomend him.

He helps the students that are willing to do the work. Very clear about the course requirements and rules. Impossible to cheat. He does not like lateness or made up excuses for lateness. one student flopped around on the floor like a guppy because she showed up after the final was over. He wasn't impressed. Only take him if you are willing to work.

Best prof I took at QC. He is extremely clear and helpful. He posts your grades online, so you always know where you stand. Do the work, listen to his feedback, and it's an easy A.

You get the grade that you earn- There's absolutely no subjectivity to his grading. Keep up with the quizzes- They're easy, straight from the chapter of the day, & will pad your grade. My big complaint was that i didn't like the textbook, & his midterm/final Q's are very specific to its content- not as much from his lectures~ but go to class!

True, it is a tough class and lots of studying, but is that not why you sign up for it?! He is only following the curriculum and gives you as much help as you need and tries to accommodate as much as possible to you. So, expect to learn a lot and know he is there for support unlike other professors.

Mike Marroquin is a very dedicated instructor who takes great care to ensure that the students really learn from his class. He can be strict and rather unrelenting sometimes. This course is demanding and difficult to get by. But if learning is your purpose, Mike's class is a great choice. He can really help you and guide you.

He is one of the best professors I ever had at qc. He really tries to help you if you have questions.. he will even stay after class with you if you have questions. There is alot of work and there are quizes every week and you have to go to class though so its definetly not an easy A.

This Professor was extremely helpful and willing to take the time out to go over assignments. Study for his quizzess (trust me). Also do all the extra credit you can get. For many students, this can be the difference between an A- and a B+. However, he did seem slightly controlling and I didnt like that. Overall, he's a nice guy though

Great professor. LOVES to talk about his own experience with the material, which makes very dull material a lot more interesting. EXTREMELY interested in his student's progress in and out of the classroom. He goes so far as to invite prospective employers to give a little presentation, preempted by a little resume-writing workshop.

He is as fair as they come. This was by far my favorite class at queens college. I learned so much and even though the tests are somewhat on the harder side, the test are fair.But you MUST show up to class cause you never know when there will be a quiz.He is very smart,clear and fun.He really cares about his students progress! Do your work, and you get an A. It is not a class for slackers, it is an advanced class. He is open honest and fair. No frills. No hidden adgendas. He made the difference in my semester and I came out of the class a better person.

This professor cares deeply about his students and whether they do well in class or not. He is very helpful in getting students involved in the profession of ABA and will do whatever he can to help. You do need to work hard in his class, there is a quiz on each chapter every class, but in the end it pays off. I recommend him highly.

I was torn on whether or not I liked this professor, because he can seem a bit cocky. It actually turned out that he is very passionate about his field - that was VERY refreshing. Coolest professor ever.I took his class during winter session and I've really learned a lot.Althought at first,I thought he is harsh because he makes us read every chapter the night before class and then would distribute quiz everyday.However, he really made it very interesting and made me learned.I'm gonna try to attend his advanced class as well.

Really great Psych professor. He's really fair and although he gives quizzes on the chapters every class, it actually helps you because you thoroughly know the material. His lectures are very easy to understand and he always gives clear cut examples.

He is a very knowledgable professor. He does not provide powerpoint lectures, only oral lectures with examples of videos he has. Exams are based on leacture and textbook materials. Your final grade is based on your exams and quizzes.

this guy is awesome! i was not a political science major and he made sure i understood it all. VEry Patient, cool guy! Class flies b/c it is very interesting and he uses cool examples and clips! Be honest with him and he will help and wanst you to do well. I recived a C and i didnt knwo anything before going into the class. Real cool dude!

This class requires a lot of work. No exaggeration at all. Attendance is a MUST as this is how you get some of your grades as you are required to take a test each morning and afternoon. BUT, it is well worth it, I actually learned something. It is the hardest B i have ever worked for but again it was worth it.

Interesting class and nice guy, but HEAVY workload: 2 quizzes for every class so reading the book is a must and it is not an easy read. 2 papers using 6 articles for each and difficult midterm and final tests. Also he wanted summaries of the 6 articles used for the 2nd paper. If you are up for a challenge, take his class, you have been warned.

Marroquin is the best professor of my college career! I took him for Psych 251(winter) and Psych 311 fall). If you want to be an ABA therapist, then he's your man! He is the king of ABA and I have finally found my calling because of him. Be prepared to work your butt off, but totally worth it. Attendance is mandatory!! Exams are brutal.

Truly had no interest in the topic, needed it for a requirement and he made the class extremely interesting. Definitely one of the best teachers I've ever had. It' the kind of class that if you do the minimal work required, you should get an A. He's also really willing to try to help people get jobs, which I always thought more teachers should do.

Only setback is that he spends too much time ranting about his dislike for certain fields in psychology. I took this class for the sole purpose of completing the last elective credits I needed in order to graduate. I can say with absolute certainty that this class was the best use of my money since I began my program 2 years ago. He is thorough, engaging and easy to listen to. This class is very easy if you actually read before each quiz that will be given in class. One out of Three quizzes from the back of your textbook will be given in class for the chapters that will be covered. Professor Marroquin is clear in instructions in what the class entials and answers all your questions. Great professor overall.

He makes it really easy for you to get a good grade, you just have to show up and listen. After he explains what he's teaching, you usually has a video or a story to clarify it. He works in the field that I'm pursuing which may explain why I found him interesting but I think that this class is important for everyone.

Professor Marroquin has the ability to convey his expertise to the class while holding interest for hours on end. He can see right through a facade, cutting to the heart of a matter. While psychology is not my main field of expertise, I can earnestly state that learning from him should be a requirement for anyone interested in psychology.

Perhaps one of the best professors you'll ever encounter concerning knowledge, helpfulness, and approach to the course subject. There really isn't a negative aspect to his teaching method at all. You will learn more in 3 weeks of his class, than perhaps 3 months of another professor's. And the best part is you'll have fun doing it ;-)

Professor Marroquin taught the material in a clear and comprehensive way. I had taken other courses in Applied Behavior Analysis, yet it wasn't until this class that I finally understood certain concepts that had been unclear. Take this class or any class by Professor Marroquin, if you want to really understand the material.

2 Papers & Exams, 1st-paper Classical conditioning, 2nd- paper Operant conditioning (using Sniffy the Virtual Rat) Exams can be hard. There is a slight curve. Show up everyday on time for Quiz. Even though the class was time consuming,I had fun. Read the textbook and the general notes of Sniffy for Quiz's. He is teach an Autism course now I think.

Dr. Marroquin is an exceptional professor, his clarity and wealth of knowledge is impeccable. He's very funny and easy going yet still being professional. You will learn a lot! But more importantly you will acquire a renewed perspective in how you view others and the system.

Allowing clsrm sharing of professional and personal experiences (esp. his) enhances lectures and understanding. He's honest, fair, & open to questions; wants to see everyone do well. Great class. Lectures are very interesting and you learn so much. Not an easy class, quizzes everyday, 2 exams (MC), and two papers for grad students.if you do the reading and come to class everyday, you will be fine.

He is amazing at what he does and knows EVERYTHING, like everything. You learn to enjoy the 6 hrs because of his interesting stories that correlated so well with lecture. Don't expect to be babied. Be ready to work hard and efficiently. He is so influential and good at what he does that I find myself practically using his lessons everyday.

He is crystal clear. I enjoyed every bit of his class. He doesn't read off the slides unlike other professors. He will prepare you for graduate school. He doesn't baby sit you so be ready to act like an adult. I absolutely recommend taking his class. 2 papers 15% each, 2 exams 25% each, 1 presentation 10%, 10 easy quizzez 1% each. He's funny too!

I was very intimidated by him in the beginning of the semester, but as the classes went on it wasnt bad at all. I enjoyed the lectures and he made a a long 7 hour class day bearable with funny videos, jokes, and stories. Study hard for the tests, dont even dream about skipping class, and follow ALL instructions for writing the papers, seriously.

I had an amazing time this semester. I learned so much in this class. He made the class fun and enjoyable. He was also able to bring outside knowledge to make you understand everything better, best of all he is like a mentor.

For 311 asks for 2 lab reports, using sniffy a virtual rat (if its a weekend class).There are 2 exams, midterm & final, and a presentation. He gives quizzes every class, sometimes twice, but they are relatively easy, if you read the book. He tries to give an extra quiz or two, so an absence, lateness or one zero doesn't hurt your grade. Take him!

Wonderful professor and very intelligent! He gives excellent feedback and is always willing to help. Fair grader also. Textbook is a MUST if you want to pass. Attend every lecture and and be sure to read! Gives a lot of chances to improve your grade and really cares about his students! Got an A+. Taking him again!

Amazing professor! If you are interested in developmental disabilities this guy know what he is talking about. Very helpful and caring professor. VERY straight foward and does not try and trick you. Need to read because he gives quizzes every class but helps with tests. Just read go to class and you will do very well!

All that he expects from you in the class is clearly outlined in the very first class. If you do not believe that you can follow his instructions, then you will not do well. Great real-world experience. Looooong lectures. You will stay for the entire scheduled time and then some. Overall low effort class with a lot of lecture time.

Mike is beyond amazing. HOWEVER if you got lazy syndrome THIS IS NOT THE CLASS FOR YOU! He will drive you insane at times, but then it gets better. He has helped me more than he will ever know #grateful. You will learn and just might get happy seeing a rat press a lever. Best professor I've had in a while. Although it was one of the only classes I got a B in, it was well worth it. There is a lot of work but if you are diligent and committed you will be fine. During our first class I was ready to drop him because he really does come off as intimidating but let him fool you not! He is the most down to earth, caring professor. I work full time and study @ nights, usually tend to fall asleep but with this professor I didn't even yawn. Be prepared to read a lot, he seems scary but he is not, you must work hard, assistance is a must. He inspired me with his knowledge, I was a horrible writer, not anymore I got my first "A" in a paper, he guided me. So glad I took his class

Dr. Mike is the BEST Professor of Queens College! I wish I could take more classes with him. I never never learned so much from any other class. He is super clear, friendly, funny, knowledgeable. There was never a time a student asked a question and he was not able to answer it. It was a 3 hours long class but I was never bored. I love Dr. Mike!

Dr. Maroquin was definitely the best professor I've had in all of my four years of undergraduate. His class was an inspirational experience, and he really cares that students leave his course with knowledge needed for the field. The main strategy that made him different from other professors was his tactics of using humor to taech his student.

Professor Mike is really a great college professor.. He inspires his students. He makes the lectures intresting. He really makes class worth attending. He does however run a tight class, he never dismiss class before it is to end. There is plenty of reading three text books to be exact and a quiz before each class begins. ABSOLUETLY NO CELL PHONES

Really good professor, makes you work for a good grade with his constant quizzes every lecture but if you put in the time to study the chapter or just read the sample quizzes in the back of one of the three mandatory textbooks you will do fine. Can be egotistical at times but has a real down to earth personality that make his lectures not as bad.

You need to read the chapters and show up to class because of the quizzes and exams, but also because how valuable his lectures are to that field of work. He is really the BEST teacher i took in college. Although it was a night class, I LOVED IT! it was worth going and SOO hands on. He loves his job and what he teaches. The best class I have taken this far in grad school! He is so passionate about his work, and will make you laugh for a good three hours! Made evening class so much worth it. This class was the first psychology class I took where I actually felt like I learned a new field of knowledge. He is so passionate about his topic, students, and relaying the information. I highly recommend this class to anyone. It is by far not an easy A, but I truly enjoyed putting in the effort for this class. He makes a lecture hall intimate!

This class was extremely informative in theory and practice. Initially intimated by Mikes attitude but after time I realized he was just prepping the class for the real world. Going to class and reading is an absolute must. Mike is organized, passionate, humorous and intelligent. If your willing and ready to work and learn, take this class!

Dr. Mike is my absolute favorite Professor in QC!! He is extremely knowledgeable and it was a joy to take his class. Lectures are awesome and absolutely entertaining as well as informative. He gives a great amount of extra credit but you still need to apply yourself of course. I hope to take another one of his classes in the future.

One of the best classes I've ever taken. 3 hour classes can be unbearable but it was totally worth it, it's easy to lose track of the time. AMAZING! I have learned so much this semester! You must be at every lecture, but you wouldn't want to miss a thing! There is a short quiz at the beginning of each class, so don't be late! Besides that there are only two tests and an extra credit paper. He really cares about working with and helping people learn about children with ASD.

Great professor and lecture. I never felt boring during the whole lecture. I learned a lot about autism, especially about echolalia. There were quizes every week, but I thought this was helpful to push me to read the textbook and catch up materials. I also learned practical skills of how to treat autistic children. It was a wonderful semester.

Can not cheat, color coordinated exams so people with the same format wouldn't be sitting next to each other. Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you miss a quiz you lose point. This was a great class! He made an intense summer session fly by. His lectures were never boring and always filled with everyday applications, videos and examples. I took Dr. Marroquin's Autism class this summer and it was one of the best courses I've ever taken. His care and dedication to the field is clear as day. I have taken two of his courses (Autism and 317) and he is one of the greatest professors I have ever had the chance of working with while at QC. You have to put in the work as he will not spoonfeed you your grade. However, he will work with you every step of the way. Just awesome!

Dr.M makes your work for your grade but overall he is amazing and a blast in a glass. If you read and pay attention you'll get an A no doubt about it. He keeps things interesting, is realistic and hilarious. Best professor I've had by far.

Organized, punctual and accessible. The class will be difficult for a higher level course and because of that you want him as the teacher to help you understand. One final, midterm, 10 quizzes, 2 papers, & 1 presentation, no extra credit. He is engaging and his practical experience keeps the class interesting and not boring.

He's great and the class was very enjoyable. Unlike many other Professors, Dr. Marroquin doesn't bombard you with tons of (useless) information and expect you to just vomit it back to him. He breaks the everything down making the material easily understandable. He's a very fair grader, just follow all his instructions and you should do well.

I was VERY hesitant to take a 6hr Sunday lecture @8am & wouldn't have been able to sit through each lecture if the professor wasn't as engaging, entertaining, and an expert at the coursework being covered as Dr. Marroquin. He basically hands you the checklist of what to do to get an A, is so informative and very outgoing & funny. Attend lecture!

Im pretty close to a straight A student so i do care about college. But Mike's class was the only class that I've taken that actually made me like being in school and i was pretty sad to have it end. He's my favorite professor that I've ever had for the psych major. You have to pay attention in class and actually do the textbook readings. He makes it very clear on what he expects. If you do the textbook readings, you'll do well on the lab report, exams and quizzes. This class made me cry like 3 times but stress is temporary, grades are 4ever.

As a graduating senior, this is my first review. That should honestly tell you enough. Amazing lectures, very caring professor who genuinely wants to see every single student succeed and will do anything in his power to help you do so. Quizzes are easy if you do readings. Lab is straight forward. Tests are harder. Coulda gotten an A but got lazy.

Professor Marroquin is one of the best professors I've ever had in my 4 years as an Undergrad. From the beginning he tells you everything you need to get an A but its up to you to work for it. Professor Mike is actually the coolest teacher I had in Queens College. I took him for 317 in my final semester and this is the only time I've ever written a review. He will teach you how to apply BCBA in the real world. For the paper, I ended up writing a whole novel. I enjoyed everyday and regretted the moments I wasn't present in class.

He's definitely the most chill and down to earth professors I've ever had the pleasure to know. He teaches the class on Sunday 8 am - 3 pm. My attention span is like goldfish s: comatose. He never rebuke or complain about my sleeping or inattention habit ever. I did follow his instructions and I was able to get A and I had good studying strategies.

In my 6 years of college, he was by far my favorite professor. Don't take the class if you have other responsibilities that will make you miss class! You earn the grade you get. Attendance is not mandatory but he's pretty entertaining so I kept coming back. I respect him greatly and I learned way more than what I paid for (which is a good thing).

So even though I received a "C" in this class (Which is PASSING for an Advanced Experimental Class), I can honestly say that Professor Marroquin is one of the BEST professors I have ever had. This is by far THE BEST professor ever! Coming to class on a Sunday morning from 8am-3pm felt like a breeze; I actually looked forward to this class. He teaches the material and how to apply it to the real-world, and his lectures are more like discussions. If you have the opportunity, don't hesitate to take his class; you will not regret it!

He has a sharp tongue, but he's a passionate professor that will help you if you reach out to him. His lectures are fun, and he gives good feedback on labs. There are weekly quizzes (from the textbook), but he drops the lowest three. Overall, he encourages you to perform better, but won't overwhelm you. It's a shame I didn't take his class sooner.
