HARD CLASS. Lots of memorization. Labs are short, last about 20 min. Great teacher though and his class is a lot of fun. Doesnt give ANY bonus points though.

He's a great professor. This is one of the best classes I've taken here...enjoyed every minute of it! Make sure and watch your points though...no bonus at all...he also does not bump your grade up if it's close.

This is by far my favorite class I have taken at UCA. Dr. Martin is a great teacher and makes class not only interesting but fun. Tests are strictly from notes and some are difficult but you learn a lot and it is possible to make a good grade. Lab is really easy and lasts at most an hour!

This class is tough, but I have never LEARNED so much before. Dr. Martin doesn't lecture, he TEACHES. Don't take him if you want an "easy A", take him if you want to learn. I think he rocks. :)

This has been my favorite class in my four years at UCA. Dr. Martin is an amazing teacher who actually relates the information to real-life situations. You actually learn stuff, instead of just memorizing the information before the test. Take him for any class you can!

I've never learned so much before in a class and had a B in it.This guy really knows what he's talking about and is a great teacher.This class is tough, but interesting!

All you need for this class is to get the old tests from someone else, who has taken it in the past. You will need to study some, but the old tests come in handy big time. I've made A's on 2 of the 3 tests so far, and studied ONLY the night before for 3 hours

okay he is definetly NOT hot. Hes like 60! but everyone needs to know before taking this class, make sure you get the old tests becuase they aren't word for word, but he'll change one word per question ex: change left to right, or superior to inferior, etc. Don't take the class without the old tests!!!

Good teacher, must study to do well

One of the best teachers in the biology dept. He let's you know what you need to learn and he teaches it. There are no mysteries as to what you need to learn. He is very practical, doesn't waste time, and very efficient. Highly recommended.

One of the best teachers I have had so far. He is not easy but is always fair. He'll never suprise you--what he teaches is what's on the test. You'll have to study, but use old tests if you can--only buy the book for A&P, you won't need it for any other classes. I would recommend to take him for A&P, Patho, Pharm and Histo if you can.

He's really a good teacher, however, his tests are all true/false. So, if you're not good with true/false then it might not be a good idea to take this unless you have his old tests.

Dr. Martin is an AWESOME professor. He's one of the best teachers i've had. He's really helpful and very fair! His tests aren't the easiest, but if you go to class and study exactly what he tells you to study for, then you have it made!

GREAT professor! I loved this class and got an A in it. He explains things so well that I was never confused. His tests are from the notes. You have to study, but it's interesting so it's okay. Wonderful class!

Best teacher I have ever had period! He does an awsome job of explainin everything and really gets you interested in class. He is awsome at breakin things down and really gettin them to make sense which is good for a class like this because it's not an easy course. I wish I could take him for every class I have to take. I recommend him to anyone.

I loved Dr. Martin!! He explains everything very thoroughly & is truly out to help students. He's a stickler to the grades, don't ask him to bump you up. But, he's up front about it from the beginning. I completely recommend anything you can take with Dr. Martin- he's great! The tests are all application but they are definitely do-able

Very good teacher. Explains material thoroughly. Be able to apply information from lecture to clinical scenarios on tests. Labs are short. As long as students are attentive & respectful things should go swimmingly. I have had the misfortune of witnessing the "Mr. Hyde" side of the good doctor; it was frightening. Then again, he hated my class.

Dr. Martin is one of the BEST professors at UCA. He made Pathophysiology fun and interesting. The way he relates the material to your future career and our lives is VERY helpful. He will never turn you down if you need help! Definately see him if you are having trouble. He makes you LEARN the material since memorizing will get you nowhere in P

Dr. Martin is the greatest!!! I have had the opportunity to take 3 different courses under his instruction. He is very straight forward telling you only what is relevant to that particular course. His test are very challenging, so if you plan to take him you must study!! In the end it will be worth it!!!!

Dr. Martin is excellent in A & P! His class is so easy, anybody could pass...as long as you pay attention and study. I took this class previously with another instructor and made a D...I have an A in Dr. Martins class. Enough said.

Dr. Martin is the best instructor I've had. He is extrememly intelligent and does a very good job of teaching what you need to know. His tests are hard- you will HAVE to study! You will only be responsible for lecture notes, he never tests on something not covered in class. Take him for anything you can- I guarantee you'll know your stuff!

This man might possibly be the best test maker I've ever met. They are tricky, but very doable. We never used the book and he goes slow enough to take down everything you need in lecture. He makes his classes fun!

GREATEST TEACHER EVER!! I would take him again and again if i could. Took him for A&P & 4311. Dr. Martin is very straight forth and his test are challenging but managable if you have paid attention in class and grasp concept. Wont test you on anything havent talked about over and over. He really knows how to present the material.

Dr. Martin is AMAZING. HE teaches you everything you need to know to ace the test--NO NEED for the book! To do well on his tests, though, you must know your notes INSIDE AND OUT! If you know your notes you can make an A everytime. Ask around for his old tests--they are extremely helpful (especially considering his test format). WOULD TAKE AGAIN!

He is great he makes the material so easy to understand. His tests are hard so just make sure you know the material and you will do great. He does not really use the book, just make sure you study your notes because that is where the material comes from. Over all A+ he is great.

Dr. Martin is the best professor I have EVER had by far. He puts things in such simple terms where anybody can learn even the most complex concept. I have recommended him to several friends and would take him every chance I get.

He is a very good teacher and explains things very well. His test are relativly hard. He expects you to really know the information in a way in which you have to read his questions very carefully. Its good to have old tests to study with,overall he is a good teacher,I am curreently in his class and I'm either going to have an A or B.

Dr. Martin is a GREAT teacher. I learned so much in his class, but his tests are all true/false, so that's the only thing I didn't like about him. He doesn't give ANY extra credit, and case studies are kind of difficult as well.

Dr. Martin is great! He's humorous and very laid back and so is the environment. Studying drugs and their effects is very interesting, he doesn't use the book, and he makes it simple as possible to learn. Multiple choice & true/false questions. I was worried about cls, but his teaching style eases all worries. If you don't pass, it your own fault

Dr. Martin was my favorite professor! I took him for several courses: Anatomy and Physiology, Pharmacology, and Pathophysiology. The textbook is useful, but you learn the most by attending his lectures. If you attend class and take good notes, you will do well. He knows his stuff backwards and forwards.

Dr. Martin is awesome! He used to be a practicing physician, so he lectures on what's practical and makes it that much easier to understand. His tests aren't bad, and you can almost always find someone who has their old tests for you to study. (He doesn't care.)

I would have to argue that Dr. Martin is the best professor at UCA. I am currently in his class. I fell in love with his teaching style on the first day. He is to the point, even using phrases like "Don't freak out. I'll explain it." He definitely cares about his students and will tell you that. Know your NOTES well, and you will be fine. Love him.

Dr. Martin is a great teacher. His class is laid back and interresting even labs. U never stay in labs the whole time even during case studies and practicals. It you are goin into medical field(s) take his class. His test are not easy but it makes you think as if you were caring for a patient, so yes you will have to now your stuff! Take good Notes

Martin is amazing! I had him for two semesters and great both times. Very clear on how he grades. If you are willing to stay current with the material and study an A is very obtainable. Very very helpful. Labs are usually short and laid back. He really enjoys the class and wants you to enjoy it as well. Wish there were more professors like Martin.

His tests are HARD, but he's wonderful. If you take the time to ask him questions for clarification, he is more than happy to help. He focuses heavily on the physiological understanding of histology- minimal emphasis on slide prep or cell identification.

Really good teacher, Really easy to catch on to his style after the first test. Never really needed the book. Just go to class and pay attention. Dont be afraid to ask questions.

This is one of the best instructors UCA have to offer, he super smart, down to Earth and he ALWAYS make you think and APPLY yourself; yet he always give clear examples so every student can understand. If a student is actually willing to put in the time and effort for this class they would not have anything bad to say about him!

Dr. Martin is a phenomenal instructor. Never use the book, his tests are straight form the notes. I had him for A&P and Patho. The final in patho kept me from an A, so don't get too lax. Just show up to class and pay attention/take notes and you'll be fine.

Awesome would be an extra understatement. Dr. Martin man what can I say besides he's the best. Like the last person stated if you study from the information that he gives you then you should be excellent.There were 4 ch test, 1 bone pratical,5 case studies and the final. I came out with an "A" for the course. All I can say is study & you will be ok

Take notes,record lectures if possible, and get previous tests if you can. (They will help a lot.) Dr. Martin is very intelligent and clears up all of your questions. Try not to miss class because you will miss a lot of valuable information for the tests, considering the tests come straight from the notes you take.

5 tests in pharm along with a comprehensive final. He does not drop any tests & will not round your grade in the end! He takes roll. It doesn't count for points but he will drop for nonattendance. He gives you 10 free bonus points in the beginning & will sometimes give a few extra if there's a "bad question" on the test. Class is entertaining.

I love Dr. Martin. He is an amazing professor. His test and case studies are definitely tricky; you have to know the information well, not just have it memorized. Labs rarely last the entire time and case studies are open note, open book. I rarely used the textbook except for the the two assigned readings. I would recommend this class for anyone.

This teacher is amazing.You really do need to go because his lecturers and notes will be on the tests.Dont miss any classes. He was a physician and If you are going into the health field he is the perfect in breaking things down barney style. STUDY and you will make an A.You will learn alot TAKE HIM.

I had Dr. Martin for A&P during summer II and loved him! I had already dropped the class once (different teacher) due to not doing well. Dr. Martin is very helpful and makes the material as simple as he can. You have to study the material, but if you do, you will be fine. I am not great in science but I studied and came out with an A. He is great!

I LOVE THIS MAN. He makes learning so easy. He knows exactly how to say everything. As long as you take notes, and understand them, you will make an A. No need to buy the book, you never open it. Go to class to get the notes!

He makes learning fun, and easy to understand. One of my favorite teachers by far. No need to buy the book. No homework except for tests.

Once you get used to the test format, tests are a breeze. He only teaches useful, applicable information, and won't keep you in class any longer than is necessary.

The class was a great experience. There is a lot to learn. You do need the book because of the reading assignments on the tests. Other than that, thats it. His exams are from his notes. So it is best to take DAMN good notes. It is RARE that he gives out bonus points. Take great notes and read the assigned reading and you will be fine!

Dr. Matin loves anatomy and wants you to succeed! He cut our 3 hour labs down to just an hour and a half if we even stayed that long. Exams are T/F but very doable if you study.

I loved this class! He made everything clear enough that you could explain it well to anyone. He doesn't budge on your grade though, but he gives 10 extra points at the beginning. 1 practical, 5 tests, 1 final, 4 (easy) case studies. His tests were T/F and A/B/both/neither type MC. He was most interested in how stuff affects other stuff. Take him!

Took anatomy and physiology from Dr. Martin... really great professor, knows his stuff. Things is, his labs are pretty easy (aside from the INSANE memorization for the bone practical), but his tests are EXTREMELY tricky and difficult. You have to know EVERYTHING for his tests or you will get tripped up; I did. Studied like a maniac and got a B. :-/

Unfortunately people on this site like to complain when they have to apply themselves even moderately to get a good grade in a class. Dr. Martin is extremely clear in his lectures, and his expectations are clearly stated. His tests are tricky, but if you attend lecture and put in the effort, it is completely possible to get an A.

He's a great teacher. He really knows his stuff. After the second test 60 percent of the class had F's and 15 percent had D's. His teaching style didn't accommodate my learning style. But, he is a very intelligent man. His test are in a very difficult format. If you can find someone who has tests from past semesters, get that. It will help. Know your hormones!

Definitely knows his stuff. Exams are worded in a difficult format; lots of T/F and sometimes multiple choice. Definitely have to know your stuff and study hard. Labs aren't too hard though. All exam questions come from lecture, no powerpoint or handout notes.

Definitely take Dr. Martin. There are 5 tests (mostly T/F), a bone practical, and case studies. Attend lecture and pay attention. Think about recording the classes because his notes are very minimal. i recorded every lecture, listened to them before the test, and made A's. Much more interested in application than memorization of facts. Take him!

TAKE DR. MARTIN!!! The key to doing well in his class is take good notes, STUDY and read his test questions carefully. He tells you exactly what you need to know. I would also recommend recording his lectures.

Awesome teacher!!! Dr. Martin is very straight forward. Gives you what you need and nothing more. He isn't warm and fuzzy but it makes for a great learning classroom. Test questions are difficult if you don't read them carefully. If you want to actually learn something about anatomy take him!! DON'T MISS CLASS & TAKE NOTES!

Dr. Martin gives awesome explanations to students for everything he teaches. He keeps your attention in class and makes the subject material interesting and inspiring. Write down everything he says, because it all matters! He's extremely helpful and is pulling for the success of every student he teaches!

Loved his class!!! Bring a recorder EVERYTHING he says can be thrown on a test, regardless if wrote on board. Ask Questions for clarity, some concepts are harder to grasp. ALL tests TF and only conceptual questions. Teaches from perspective of medical school. When he says 899 at the end of the semester is a B he absolutely means it! Find old exams

Please take Dr. Martin! He is very clear and his lectures are interesting. His tests are mostly TF, and the material comes right from lectures. I wouldn't recommend taking an 8am lab because after the bone practical, you do 5 case studies & they only take about 15 minutes each. Do your best on everything because he will not bump borderline grades!

Dr. Martin is a physician so he lectures like a doctor would, he has over 25 years of experience so he knows what he's doing and he knows how to teach it. After this class, you won't be able to forget it because he is that good. He likes to say "the big picture is coming together" and boy was he right! Record his lectures, take notes. tests are TF.

He made A&P very easy to understand. I have much respect for this man and how he teaches his class. Pay attention in class and find someone who has his old exams (he tells you to) and study those. They are normally very close to the exam you are given. You can make an A if you try hard. It is definitely do able. A B is very easy to obtain

If he writes something on the board, you need to. You'll need the book to study for the practicals. Very open to questions.

Fantastic histology teacher. All lecture based. DON'T SKIP. His teaching style is very easy to understand. Didn't use the book except for some in lab. Lecture never lasted more than an hour. Usually less. 4 tests that are very short but an impressively thorough test of what you know, so study. He was very kind but don't beg for grades.

He is a wonderful professor and strives to make sure his students understand what he is teaching. His tests are mostly application. Study! He is funny and interesting to listen to. Usually lets you out of class early. He might give too many examples of what he is teaching and it takes some time out of class, but he just makes sure you know it.

Lectures are great. There are some good quizlets for his class if you look for them. Fairly easy class in my opinion.

I LOVE THIS MAN. Dr. Martin is one of the professor who really cares about what he does and his students. I have been to his office hours many times confused and he is always so happy to help. He makes hard concepts very simple to understand and is very concerned with his students actually learning what he is teaching. Best professor ever.

Dr. Martin is extremely kind and every student respects him. His only grades are his exams so you need to do well on those. Take very good notes during class because that will be pretty much the only resource you have for the exams (the book isn't very helpful). Shortest labs ever!! One lab last 4 minutes, the rest lasted less than 15 minutes.

One of the best Professors you will ever have. EVERY student respects him and appreciates how easily he breaks down tough subjects. He was a doctor and only focuses on what it important. Take notes. He does not use a book or powerpts. Focus on studying for tests and acing lab. Don't let format of tests trip you. Class was so good I didn't mind a B.

Your grade is made up of 4 test and the final with a few labs but the test are where it's at. You have to attend the lectures. All his testing materials come from that. Not much reading or use of the book. He's strict but you'll learn what you're supposed to and it'll stick with you. Wonderful professor

Dr. Martin is amazing. He went to medical school so he really knows his stuff about the human body. I had him for A&P 1 and 2 and I loved him. He is an amazing professor. Yeah, you have to put in a lot of work but he makes it so interesting you want to put the work in!

Dr. Martin is fantastic. He knows what he is talking about but still teaches in a way that is easy to understand if you are willing. His tests are only based on lectures, if you take good notes and study them you will do fine. No homework. If you study you will pass.

Overall I love him!! His tests are brutal though. Pretty much all true/false. He uses the book some but the examples he gives makes it more relatable. Like he says, he's a big picture guy and thank goodness because that book has a lot of stuff in it.I would take him again though.

I would highly recommend you voice recording his lectures. He goes above and beyond to teach you the right material. He doesn't waste your time with "Trivial" information. Everything is useful.

I took Dr. Martin for General Pharmacology during a May Intersession. I would definitely recommend him! He does not have any other points other than test points, so you have to do well on the tests. He is very organized and intelligent on the subject. He deeply cares for his students and wants everyone to do well. Did not use a textbook.

Everything he says in lecture will be on your test so no surprises. Very blunt and to the point. Lab points are super helpful in boosting your grade and usually last like 15 min. All test are around 30 true or false so read slowly. Only grades in class besides labs are your tests.

I really liked Dr. Martin! He is a very nice guy and gives it to you straight. He does a good job on simplifying the material and only telling you information that you need to know. Whatever he lectures on in class is whats on the test. Take good notes! Test questions can be tricky so you need to really understand the concepts.

The beginning of the semester he requires attendance. First and second test are hardest, rest are easy. He lets you out of class early. Perfect light-load class. Only tests, no assignments.

Dr. Martin is a very genuine person. He loves teaching his class. I had him for anatomy and physiology. He explains everything very, very clearly. I hate science and he made me like it. His tests make you really apply the concepts, but not in a super hard way at all. You can easily make a 100% in his class if you study well enough.

I loved my A&P class with Dr. Martin! I took it during the summer II session and our labs were just learning the bones in a small group. Lectures lasted at most 2 hours and our lab was 30 minutes-one hour. If we had a test or lab practical that day we could leave right after. The labs weren't very fun but it was a simple, straightforward class.

Professor Martin is HANDS DOWN my favorite professor. He does an excellent job at explaining material, lets you out of class early, and gives no homework. His tests are straight from his lectures and are easy. Would definitely recommend!!!

Dr. Martin is THE BEST!!! Super straight to the point on everything and doesn't spend time teaching concepts into the ground. His lectures are great and he loves if you participate in lectures. He's also a former physician which is great to learn from his eyes. SUPER excited to take patho with him in the spring. 10/10!!!

This was my second time taking A&P II and I am glad I took it with Dr. Martin. His lectures were straightforward and the exams were literally over the notes. We also were able to use our notes on the exams which means you have no reason to fail. I would totally recommend you to take him.

I took his class in May 2020 online. He posted the lectures on Blackboard to watch over each week. Dr. Martin is a great teacher. He explains the material in a way that is easy to understand. He breaks everything down. I would highly suggest taking him for General Pharm and Pathophysiology.

Dr. Martin is an incredible professor. If you attend his lectures and take the time to take good notes and learn the material, you will do well. I took him for A&P II, and all of his exams and lab material come straight from lecture. He is very clear on what he expects and very open to questions.

I took Professor Martin for AP II and I highly recommend him for anyone needing this course. He is very good at explaining all concepts in a way that is easy to understand. BUT to do well in this class, it is crucial to show up to lecture. All material on the exams come straight from the notes taken in lecture. With that being said, take Martin!!

This is the second time I've taken Dr. Martin and he's fantastic!!! He makes very complex topics super easy to understand. His grades only consist of tests, so it's important to go to every lecture because he doesn't post notes. Genuinely wants his students to succeed and is by far the best professor I've had.

Dr. Martin is a super kind man one-on-one and usually in lectures too. His only teaching method is the lecture (there are no quizzes or practice problems before the exams). He doesn't make his class easy but makes you work for it (he tries to trick you on tests). I recommend getting a recorder or just taking super good notes.

dr. martin is one of the best professors i've had at uca. he makes concepts super easy to understand, and his labs are easy. he does take attendance. be careful for his tests because he'll try and trick you, but all material comes from lecture, and overall a really good class. highly recommend.

he is a good professor. he lectures pretty heavy, and his tests are not multiple choice. they are more of T/F, or A-black B-white C-neither D-none all he takes are test and lab grades. I would recommend to study for tests as early as possible. He gives no extra credit. Overall, I would take him again. Make a groupchat and post quizlets to study.

Dr. Martin is a great professor. He takes role every class, so make sure you attend every lecture. Tests are T/F, they are pretty decent, just make sure you study the lecture notes. He is super chill and lectures the whole class.

I like him. His lectures and tests are pretty heavy, but he is very willing to help his students out. Labs are easy A's to get. I recommend doing study chats or meet-ups with classmates. Study as soon as possible before tests! Overall, good professor. 10/10 recommend.

It's important to attend class, and take really good notes. His lectures don't have many visual aides, and he teaches lectures by writing on the chalkboard (don't let this deter you). He makes class so easy to understand, and he's always more than happy to answer questions and clarify anything even during lecture. Labs are easy, but require notes.

I enjoyed taking Mr. Martin. His lectures are interesting and makes them understandable. Only assignments were tests and case studies from lab though so make sure to study what he teaches. The test will not be over anything he hasn't thought, they are straight from lecture. Also, the majority of tests are T or F so expect that as well.

Professor Martin is an excellent lecturer who makes complex concepts easy to understand. His exams are straight from the lecture notes, so staying engaged in class is key. I found unstuck ai and the free textbook really helpful for studying and acing this course.

I took Dr. Martin for A + P 2 and loved him! His class does take a good amount of studying, but if you review after each lecture you will do well! Labs are literally 5 mins, you walk in, do a "case study" for 50 points and leave, I got 100% on all of them, you can use printed notes for these! tests are STRAIGHT from lecture! take good notes!

Great professors, one of the best I've had. Grades are from exams only, which are almost all T/F. He has clear expectations and he sets his students up for success if they put in effort.

Absolutely loved this class. The way he teaches makes it easy for you to remember the information. Lectures aren't boring and he is always cracking jokes, just be prepared to pay attention and take good notes because there is no homework or classwork.
