This guy rocks. He totally knows his **** about government, being a lobbist. I learned a LOT from him. Please consider Mr. Mike. He will make you like Political Science.
The best professor I have ever had. You couldn't ask for a more enjoyable Political Science class. Just take notes on the sheets he gives and that is what will be on the tests!
Without a doubt, one of the best professors that Kennesaw has on faculty. This guy knows his stuff! He is an attorney, lobbyist, and a Ph.D. He presents the material in a story format. Great sense of humor. Test are TOUGH, but studying will pass you!
GREAT teacher. I took his class on Saturdays and never missed a class. He knows the history behind the Political Science and teaches it so that you truly understand how our political system came to be. WOW!!!!
Before I took his class I knew absolutely nothing about politics, and dreaded it. The examples he uses makes everything stick so easily! Never knew I could enjoy learning something i thought would be so boring. Just study, and you'll pass.
THE BEST! The class is easy and he is a great teacher. He will help you in any way possible... My favorite teacher so far!
The best! My favorite lecturer at KSU, Mike can smoothly deliver lots of information in a short time and still manage to make it fun. You couldn't ask for a better teacher. Funny, witty, and wickedly competent in his domain. KSU needs more professors as skilled and entertaining as Mr. Mike!

Great teacher. I really enjoyed his class. He's very easy to understand and definitely knows his stuff.
Mr. Martinez is a great instructor and very knowledgeable in the field. He is very organized in presenting the material and it is obvious that he takes this class very seriously based on his level of preparedness. Hopefully, all the students will get out and vote and get involved in government.
Dr. Martinez is an excellent asset to KSU. He made a saturday morning class into a really pleasant learning experience. I'd recommend him to any student. He'd give chance after chance to make your A. He's very knowlegeable, witty and respectful of his students. I wish he teaches other classes at KSU. Rating: A+++
Mr. Martinez is one the greatest teachers one can ever have. He really knows what he is talking about and can make even what one may consider boring really interesting. It is not hard to get an A in his class but the main thing is that one could actually learn something useful. I highly recommend Mr. Mike Martinez.
Undoubtedly the best professor I have ever had anywhere. Saved this freshman class for something less stressful for my senior year and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Mr. Martinez, is the one of the best professors at KSU. When class started I was not interested in this subject, at all. I thought this class was going to be boring, however, this class was very interesting. Mr. Martinez, test are difficult, but there is no doubt about it, you will come out learning many new things about the American Government.
I would strongly recommend anyone not to take this teacher. His test are 15 discussion questions, 15 fill in the blanks, 15 multiple choice questions. And 4 bonus questions. Go figure. If you fail his test he offers you to write a make up term paper. And he grades extremely hard on term-papers. So don't waste your time writing one.
Great teacher. I wish he taught other courses. He was very clear with his presentation and was willing to help students in any way. He always headed a test review outside of class time before every test, where you could ask questions about something that was unclear.
Um, I actually got up and got to class by 8 AM on Saturday morning and enjoyed this class! He explains things really well and gives extra credit points on the test. He also offers a make up term paper if you do poorly/ miss a test. His grading is very fair and he is a nice guy! I recommend taking this class!
Definitely a great instructor. I knew absolutely nothing about government before taking this class and he is great. His tests are a little tough. 10 short answer, some fill in the blank, and some true/false and matching. He always offers about 5 extra credit questions from current events in the news. You have to study hard for an A.
Couldn't ask for a better professor. Wish he taught more classes at KSU. Hot as in a brainy mature nerdy kind of hot, and he mentioned he'd never gotten a chili pepper, he deserves at least one....

You only have four grades, which is really the only bad thing. He's extremely nice, and he actually makes government seem interesting! I would highly recommend him. His tests are very easy if you attend class.
Excellent instructor. Extremely organanized - powerpoints and all other course materials on webCT Does an optional 2 hr review before each exam. Extra credit questons on each exam. Enjoyable and interesting. Show up for class, study powerpoints and you should get an A
Martinez is a great teacher. He makes a Saturday morning class fun. Most of his notes are powerpoints and this is were his test material comes from. Test are multiple choice, fillin the blanks, and matching with bonus questions. Very easy and helpful teacher. If you must take a Political Science class, take Mr. Martinez! Awesome teacher!
Great professor ... especially for a Saturday morning class.Attendance is very important, he takes role on 2nd half of class and uses attendance as deciding factor to round off final average grade if you are close by a point or two. I am an International student and barely knew american politics..but I got an A!!!
Wonderful! I loathe politics but he's made me realize the difference between the science of politics and day-to-day politics. The science is actually really interesting and he holds my attention even on a Saturday!!! =) You DO have to study, he's tricky. =)
Professor Martinez is one of the best professors I have had in a long time. His tests are based strictly on his power point notes. The tests are tricky, but if you attend class and study your notes you should do fine. He makes you put what you know together as opposed to just strictly memorizing facts. Makes American Govt. sound interesting!!
Mr. Martinez is definitely one of the best professors at KSU. He knows the material and makes it easy for you to understand. His tests can be tricky but he goes to great lengths to make sure you know what to expect on the tests. He offers study sessions so if you miss any classes or need a refresher, make sure you attend! RECOMMEND!
Wonderful professor, very professional, great class. Lectures are crystal clear and interesting, tests from power points. I didn't do well but it's totally my fault. I'm taking his class again. Make-up papers are more difficult than test, so just study lecture notes and you'll be fine. You gonna LOVE this class. TAKE IT!!!
HE DESERVES THE BEST TEACHER AWARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
EXCELLENT!!! He loves teaching this class and it makes you want to learn the material. Attendance is not mandatory but it helps because exams come directly from lectures. I never read a chapter in the book. You will not regret taking his class...trust me.
Great Teacher! His lectures were interesting, his tests were challenging but he gave you power points with all the information. I loved this class!
Fantastic......take his class you will not regret it.
the best yet!!! I loved him. Went to the test reviews, and the only time I didn't go got an f. Make time to go to the reviews. Second test is the hardest. Don't even bother with make up essays, extra hard. He is a geek god, hehehe.
Mr. Martinez is a GREAT teacher. I had NO interest in this class but he actually made it interesting and I learned so much. If you just pay attention, read the chapters, and study even a little, you can ace this class. I made a 98! Mr. Martinez truly enjoys teaching and it shows.
Doesn't explain very well, his tests have things that were only briefly touched on, and his gets annoyed easily. He even insulted a student.
He is very unclear about what will be on the test. The tests test on the abstract. He can be annoying too. I actually heard him insult a student.
He is a great teacher, very funny and entertaining. His tests are hard, but if you attend class, take notes and study, you'll be fine. There is definately not a dull moment in his class, he has a great sense of humor and always incorporate hilarious personal stories to help you learn the material. Very well worth your time!
very hilarious and nice guy. fantastic teacher. tests are quite difficult and tricky, but if you study the powerpoint and read the sections in the book corresponding to the notes on the powerpoint, you should do fine on the test. is willing to bump your grade from and 88 to an A if you attend all classes. overall, no complaints.
Just one thing: DON'T TAKE HIM IF YOU INTEND TO PASS!!! I had people who were high up in politics review my paper and gave it approval. Prof. M looked over it and refused to even give me a grade. He is not fair at all and his tests are so abstract. He tests you on things that were in the book but he never went over even in the test reviews.
Mr. Martinez is a great guy. His test are quite hard, but the best advice is to READ THE TEXTBOOK!! If you don't do well on a test you can write a make-up term paper. He always shares lots of funny stories. He takes attendance but doesn't give grades for attendance. If you struggling, but go to every class,he might help your grade.
He teaches only saturdays but his class is worth taking. He uses a lot of his experiences in the company he works for and after you take his class you finally understand how the government and the system works.
Attendance not mandatory, but he does considered it when entering final grades, could bump a B- to an A. Classes are only on saturday and seem longer than the actually are, but he's an animated guy so they aren't that boring. I only missed one class and took some notes so I never had to read the book & still made an A. Offers make up papers for tes
Extremely difficult- great lectures; however the exams were nothing like the lectures. Read the book, follow HIS power point, and seek knowledge from other sources and you should do fine.
Tests have some tricky questions, but he gives you all of the information in class during lecture w/ power point that will be on the test. If you study the lecture notes, class is passable. He is funny and interesting to listen to. I hate political science, but he made it interesting. He's got an amazing memory!
Great, great teacher - knew his subject matter cold. Interesting & humorous. His tests come straight from the powerpoints and lectures in class. Absolutely great writer, you'd be doing yourself a favor to voluntarily write one of the make up papers just for his comments.
Tests are hard, lectures are awesome, powerpoints are awesome. Great teacher. Makes government fun.
I LOVED taking his class. He is so smart it oozes out of his ears. He understands what he is teaching so well that he probably dreams about it. Made me understand US Gov. He is really a geek god, like someone else said. Kind of cute older guy too, haha!
he was the best teacher i've had yet. he knows the material and he is really funny. he makes class enjoyable. i didn't think his test were hard, everything you need to know is on the power points. so just study the power points and you'll be fine. and don't bother buying the book we didn't really use it. but definitely take his class he is great
By far the best professor I ever had. I hated political science before I came to this class. He make this subject so interesting, you hate to miss a class. He takes the time to give optional exam reviews and will spend all of his personal time after class to help if necessary.
GO TO CLASS! Textbook = waste of money. Very energetic teacher during first class. Entertaining and willing to explain things to students. Gets off topic, but ties things together well. Review sessions before each test. Offers make-up tests in form of midterm papers. Tests are multiple choice/fill in the blank. Extra credit. Highly recommended.
Excellent professor! He is very intelligent and knows his stuff. Prof. Martinez is very entertaining and funny. His tests are from his powerpoints and he offers review sessions. He gives examples of test questions and how other students went wrong previously. He gives extra credit for watching movies as well. Highly recommended!
Worst professor ever! Statistics was easier than his class! He does not clearly define subjects and makes you think you are prepared for the test when you are def not! Does not explain things or want to work with his students. He is mean to his students and I would not take him ever again! Worst class in my whole POLS degree and I am almost a Sr!
Great professor! Makes government interesting. He is entertaining! His tests are easy if you take notes and show up for class. Offers EC for watching movies. No homework. If you bomb a test he offers makeup term papers. I highly recommend him. Don't buy the textbook - he will give you all you need. Overall: Best class this semester!
Perfect!! I had no interest in Political Science but Mr. Mike makes it very interesting. He is extremely passionate about his subject. If nothing else you will understand our political system. His ppt and class is very interesting. I have his 2pm class on Saturday. I thought it would be boring but i was wrong. TAKE HIS CLASS FOR SURE!!!
I highly recommend Professor Martinez. I never like politics, now I do; he has opened my eyes. Great sense of humor, gives you all that you need to pass this class. Just study PowerPoints as all test are from information on his powerpoints. Text is not necessary. Extra Credit Movies give you a true insight into politics.
He knows his stuff but the tests never have just what we learned in class or at the review, some we just never learned.
Prof Martinez is an awesome teacher! He's really knowledgeable about American govt. The thing I loved about his class is he made everything easy to understand. He always had these funny stories to relate to the material being studied! As long as you don't miss class, take & review your notes, and watch the films for extra credit you'll get an A!
What an amazing professor. I was dreading this class and I loved every minute of it! He's super funny and really knows his stuff. His tests are hard if you weren't in class, or didn't bother to look at the PowerPoints. I HIGHLY recommend taking his class!
Mr. Martinez is an excellent professor! His passion is absolutely contagious, and I wish more teachers/professors were like him. His test are very easy if you actually show up for class, and study. He makes himself available as much as possible, and holds 2 hour exam reviews the week before a test. I promise you will get a lot out of this class!
Show up, read the chapters, and take notes on the slides and you will do very well. His tests are fair if you go to class and he is very approachable if you have questions. He offers an exam review before each test, I recommend going even if you are doing well. Plenty of extra credit opportunities and chances to improve your grade.
Great professor. Will make you know about politics. Really interesting class even though you are not interested in politics. Very fair in exams. All questions are from power point. Watching movies for extra credit. Optional exam review before the exam. Just attend the class - listen lecture- study power point - watch movies - Get A.
Mr. Martinez was an excellent professor. I took the class on Saturday morning and he made the class interesting, because he was animated and very lively. His tests were easy if you paid attention to his lectures. He even does test reviews. I definitely recommend him for this subject. Pay attention, take good notes, ask questions, and you will pass.
I have three words....TAKE THIS CLASS!!! Arguably the best professor teaching this subject at KSU! Trust me you will not be disappointed! PS did I say the week before every exams *4 times* he gives up 2hrs of his time to do a revision class to go over the material he'll be covering in the exam? He truly cares, and gives 100% every time he teaches!!
THE BEST PROFESSOR I'VE EVER HAD! I took this class on Saturday morning, and I was blown away by how much I enjoyed the class and how great of a teacher Mike was. There are only 4 grades/tests for the semester but there are multiple extra credit opportunities. I don't know how anyone could not do well in his class - he is seriously that awesome!!!!
I personally did not pass this class this semester due to unforseen family & medical issues. However, Professor Martinez did everything to help me and I am grateful, I just could not grasp the material. There are 4 exams, consiting of fill in the blank and multi choice, and extra credit also. A wonderful professor, I'm retaking hoping for my A.
Awesome professor, interesting. He is very knowledgable, a lawyer for a company. Made an 8am Saturday class fun and bearable. Book is not necessary!!! listen to lectures, know the powerpoints and watch the extra credit films. Pretty easy class, 12th grade government review. Easy A
Professor Martinez made me excited to get up and go to an 8am Saturday class. He loves teaching and he makes the class fun and enjoyable. The content is super easy. If you passed Government in 12th grade, you'll do just fine.
Professor Martinez is one of the best professors I have ever taken! He engages with the class, makes an 8am class enjoyable and fun to listen to. He reenacts events from the past to help students understand better. He engages with the class on current events relating to history repeating itself. Overall one of the best professors KSU has!
Professor Martinez was a godsend. Not only did he make the class extremely easy for everyone, but he also made his lectures incredibly hilarious and worthwhile. He offers bonus points on every test (4 in the class including final) which let you get up to 10 extra points. The tests are super easy and are based off the PowerPoints. Great professor.
He's a good teacher I won't lie. But I would recommend not taking him!! Especially the Saturday class! You only have a PowerPoint to read and study from 3 test and 1 final. And you can do a makeup paper if you don't like your test grade. But he's gonna grade it hard. Just brace yourself if taking this class. No homework though. Just reading.
Super animated (in a good way) extremely thorough, gives great examples of everything he teaches. No papers, no quizzes, just 4 tests and they're EXACTLY what he teaches in class. If you want to learn plus get an A, I highly recommend you take his class. Don't miss class. He gives a two hour test review the week before every test. Be there.
Mr. Martinez is an amazing teacher. He made waking up for a Saturday class so easy and made the class a pleasure to be in. TAKE HIS CLASSES
Dr. Martinez loves to teach, and it is evident in the fact that he has been doing it for the past 20 years. If you actually want to learn something, I strongly recommend you take this class. If you're not willing to do the work, don't expect to make the grade. That's life. Show up, pay attention and ask questions.
This teacher has obviously been teaching this course for a long time. He has every lecture down to the minute, you will not get out of the class early. With that being said, the lectures easily help pass the tests. If you pay attention and follow his slides you will pass. My end grade was a 98% without doing extra credit.
GREATEST Professor EVER! If you pay attention in class, write down the important things he says, and study, you'll get an A. He's very energetic when he teaches which keeps you wide awake & focused. Gives hints as to how each topic will look like on the test and is very helpful in helping you fully grasp the info. Don't even bother with txtbk.
I loved this professor, fantastic, knowledgeable, and very funny. Interesting lectures! By all means this class is not a breeze, study his power points, do the extra credit, and you will do well.
He was great !! The best teacher I had out of all 4 classes I was taking. Super funny & he makes his lectures interesting . If you want a great teacher take him !! We really didn't use the textbook . And for extra credit he made us watch movies, and they were good!
Awesome prof and though i had 2:45 mins class with him, it was easy to stay focus because of his way to teach the class.
Hilarious guy who knows his stuff when it comes to politics. Attending class and taking notes is pretty important. We had one paper, and I think three exams. All of the lectures are funny and full of content that will be on the exams so pay attention. Would take again if needed.
Chill and very nice. Good opportunities to succeed/get better grade.
Best teacher I've had in a long time! Yes, it was a Saturday class and that sucked but he honestly made up for it. You don't need the text book at all, like DONT BUY IT. The test are easy if you go over the powerpoints and pay attention in class. Gives 10 points extra credit on every test. He keeps you laughing, great guy! Wish he was full time!
Martinez is by far the GREATEST Professor I've ever had. I actually ENJOYED learning about politics & how he lectures w/ humor. Unlike most Professors who don't give af, he actually cares about you passing. There's 10 bonus you can get just by watching political movies! He also briefed me on an ENTIRE lecture when I accidentally missed a class once
Obviously, government is not a popular class. But he understands that completely so he makes his lectures as interesting as possible! He's REALLY funny, and gives extra credit (a max of 10 points) on each test just by watching a movie at home! His classes are on Saturdays, but honestly, he's worth it! You will not regret taking him!
He is a great professor and very funny and friendly. Took this class Spring semester 2017. The only grades are 4 test grades, having the final being the 4 test. Final is not cumulative. The only issue I had with this class was that half the test (50 points) is fill in the blank with no word bank. If this does not bother you, then you should do fine
Professor Martinez is a great professor. His test do require fill in the blank & multiple choice but he also provides extra credit on each test (10 point), he has optional exam reviews (helpful if you miss a class) & if you don't like your grade, you can write a make up paper. He gives you plenty of opportunities to get a decent grade.
His lectures keep you awake because hes funny & makes the material interesting. This is one of the few classes where I barely had to study bc I learned while listening to his lectures! I had his Sat class & he made it so bearable. I somehow forgot to go to 1 lecture & he went over the ENTIRE thing w me after the following weeks class. Love him!
Professor Martinez is an amazing teacher! If you have to take POL1101 take him- it is worth it. There are only 4 exams for the whole semester but he gives extra credit via having to watch (super entertaining) movies. He is a great lecturer and is pretty funny as well. He actually made it interesting to learn about politics!
There is a quiz every week which you have four chances to take it and he takes the highest score. There is a discussion board every week where you reply to three topics and reply to one student. All in all this is such an easy A. Take his class!
This was the easiest gov class I have ever taken. All the quizzes and tests are on quizlet. Not a lot of work, just discussions and quizzes weekly, and two tests and final.
TAKE HIM. I loved his class. We had weekly discussion posts to write which I wrote about 1,500-2,000 words for and got 98's every time. His lectures were long but not too boring, he added stories into it to make it more interesting and for the content to be understood better. Tests are easy you can use notes and google. He wants you to pass :)
Professor Martinez is a solid choice. 10 discussions & 10 quizzes all worth 2% of your grade. 3 multiple choice exams that were worth 20%. Definitely have to watch his lectures to do well on the tests. Only complaint is that his lectures were long and tedious.
Long & Boring lectures, but easy class. he definitely knows what hes talking about, and make sure to tune in when hes talking, a lot of it is on quiz & tests.
Mike Martinez was a great professor! This was one of my favorite classes this semester. His lectures were pretty long, but if you stay engaged they go by fast and I thought they were interesting. Theres a quiz each week that are suuuper easy and only three tests that are also easy. All you have to do is show up, take some notes, and youll pass!
Excellent speaker, presents all of the material extremely well. However, his lectures are pretty long and sometimes get boring if you aren't interested in the content. Cares about your success, always available outside of class, helps you with your grades if necessary. If he is an option, take him
Mr. Martinez is the most energetic professor I've ever had the pleasure to learn from. He makes lectures engaging regardless of how boring the content is, there was never a dull moment during his class and anyone who takes his class would agree that this man loves what he teaches. Just show up and listen to the lectures! I promise you will love it
He has weekly quizzes and they are fairly hard. Cannot find answers anywhere, so going to class is important as its based on things not only in notes. He is very happy to teach the subject and very energetic. I would take him again. He also is good with grades, he puts in 0's for all assignments at the beginning of year, so you know your grade
Super easy, but I had friends in the class with me and we would all help each other out. He is very passionate about what he teaches, but tries to make class interesting. A quiz every week and 3 exams total all online no lockdown.
Mr. Mike is a really great professor but his lectures can be a bit boring. The best thing about this class is that he knows that its just required and not usually necessary so every test or quiz is open note, open book and he encouraged us to literally use google. Great guy, take him if you can!
Literally just take him. If you show up for the lectures, the class is easy. Every quiz is open note, open book and is based off his lectures. I would say record them so you can go back and listen to it when its time for the quiz. His lectures are a bit boring but regardless an easy A. Test are 25 questions and quiz are 10 questions.
There isn't any homework, but there are quizzes most weeks and a weekly reading/video to watch but nothing time-consuming. The quizzes and tests are straightforward and all multiple choice. This is the one class that I genuinely enjoyed attending. Professor Martinez is super passionate about what he teaches and makes the class super enjoyable!
Professor Martinez made Political Science interesting. He was very funny and always made me want to learn more about the subject. His lectures are very animated and he likes to talk about polysci through story telling.
Quizzes almost every week but not lockdown browser. I enjoyed the lectures because he was always excited to teach. He posts the PowerPoint notes from class but its easier to take the quizzes if you actually listen to the lectures and take more detailed notes in class. He is a very kind person and wants his students to learn. I would recommend!
I really enjoyed this class. His lectures are very long but interesting. He makes PowerPoints that you can access but make sure to also take notes. All quizzes and tests are open note. He is an amazing teacher. Would definitely recommend taking!
Professor Martinez was incredible. Each lecture is comprised of PowerPoint slides with his talking points. Everything he covers in class appears mostly verbatim on the quizzes and tests (which are very easy). He actually encouraged the use of Google if we didn't know the answer. Free textbook as well. Overall, great class and easy to succeed.
Professor Martinez is GREAT. One of the best professors at KSU. He made his class enjoyable along with understandable. A very humble man as well. Make sure to watch the videos/read the articles that he posts before his quizzes. Other than that, a super fun and easy class :)
the sweetest man. used to work for a bottle company and now teaches on environmental policy lol. only 4 papers and a book report make up the class, and they were short & simple. learned a lot without feeling too overwhelmed with heavy material. would die for this man tbh
Easiest class I've taken in highschool or college. EXTREMELY lecture heavy but Professor Martinez is super funny and attendance is not mandatory. Our grade consisted of 10 quizes, 2 tests, and a final. All of which were completely open (notes, Google, lecture slides) so it's essentially a guaranteed A.
Professor Martinez is great. This man had me crying with laughter on the first day of classes. That being said, his lectures are long and boring, but he does his best to make them interesting. There is a quiz each week and a mid term and final (not cumulative). All his tests and quizzes are "open note, open book, open google". Easy A.
I love Professor Martinzes way of teaching, you can really tell that he loves what he does. His quizzes and test are not difficult and everything is open note. Although it's open note, he will say specific things word for word what will be on a test or quiz in class, that is not on the powerpoints he uploads. Great guy and class was easy
Professor Martinez is one of the most brilliant professors I've ever had. This guy is truly a gem.
Loved Prof. Martinez. Very funny. Good at answering emails quickly. Everything was online and open note.
On day one of 4410 I was afraid the class was going to be terrible based on his syllabus review. I was wrong! Such an engaging class with material presented in a clear, understandable way. He is great and if you want to go to law school take this class! I am not planning on law school and still really enjoyed it.
really really good! you have 10 quizzes (one every week) and 3 exams including the final! everything is open book but he sometimes says things that are specifically on the quiz. i personally never went to class and still finished with a A. you also get 10 points extra credit on the final!
Really good professor and passionate in his subject. 10 quizzes and 3 exams make up your grade. Everything is open note, however you should definitely have some good notes. Questions are quite specific and require you to have a good understanding of the subject and his lectures. Overall pretty easy though and I recommend him. There was also an SI.
Wonderful guy. Really enjoyed his class. He's very passionate about his subject, and it was exciting learning political history from a guy who has actually worked in lawmaking for decades. All quizzes were open-note/open-google, so if you showed up to lecture then you don't really have to crack open the textbook. I'd take him again in a heartbeat.
If you have to take American Government do not hesitate to take Professor Martinez. His lectures are very interesting and I guarantee he will be one of your favorite professors throughout your entire college career.
Professor Martinez is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He made the class so clear and easy. He assigns homework and reading, but if you pay attention in class and take notes, you really don't have to do them. There's weekly quizzes and 3 exams that make up your grade, all open note and open google. So easy, definitely take this course.
Loves to lecture. Very understanding though. Everything is open note so if you're a bad note taker, beware. He's an awesome prof
mr. martinez was a wonderful addition to my schedule. all tests and quizzes are open note, open textbook, and open google (including the final) and they are all online. since my class had upwards of 200 students in the class, attendance was not mandatory. 10/10
10 quizzes and 3 tests, all of them are open notes/open google. Really easy class, final has an easy 10 extra points opportunity (taking a survey). Most answers for the tests and quizzes can be found on his slides, which are on d2l.
Professor Martinez was amazing when I took his POLS 1101 class in person. Every week, there's an online quiz and readings. Also, there are three online tests for the semester. His final is not cumulative! The only downside is that his classes are lecture-heavy, but he is a funny guy to listen to. Attendance isn't mandatory, but go to class!!
he was a kind and very caring person! there was a quiz every week (not hard), so there's 10 quizzes in total. there are also 3 exams in total. he always went over the material and took any questions! the class is very lecture heavy, but his exams and quizzes are not hard at all and he even encourages you to use google if you don't know the answer!
Professor Martinez is extremely knowledgeable. Exams & quizzes are open note, open book, and open Google. All of his lecture resources are on D2L. You could skip, but he makes lectures really entertaining. He is a wonderful professor. He does mention some specific items in class, not on powerpoint, which appears on quizzes, so watch out. Take him!!
Great and knowledgable professor. Grade only consists of 3 tests and weekly quizzes. Funny and detailed lectures and teaches in a conversational way. Attendance isn't mandatory but go to class bc he will say a few things and give examples that can't be found in PPT that he posts. Everything is open note. Very easy class and emails back fast.
I liked him a lot. Easy class, but make sure to try your best on each exam because there aren't many other grades. The exams were easy though. I liked his stories, and he is passionate about the material.
If you are looking for an easy A, this is the class for you. Lecture attendance is optional because it's such a large class, all material online. You have 1 quiz a week, open book and notes, Then 4 tests which are also open note and open book, taken online. Don't get me wrong, his lecture's are great, but it's up to you if you want to attend
This Professor was pretty good. Although its open note and open google you wont find his answers online easily and his powerpoints are more guidelines than facts. Be aware if youre taking the honors course theres an 8 page paper thats about 30 % of your grade. But all in all hes nice and a pretty interesting professor.
Professor Martinez is awesome. While government isn't a fun class, he definitely has energy and makes it better. He does weekly quizzes. While attendance isn't mandatory, some of the quiz is from in class material so try to make it as much as possible. One of my favorite professors I've had
Super easy. Lectures, but the notes are all online. 10 quizzes and 4 tests, all open note, open internet. Would definitely recommend.
While attendance isn't mandatory, the lectures help with the content. He is very entertaining when he lectures. He grades off tests and weekly quizzes. All are open notes and he posts his power points. He uses a free textbook and provides certain pages to read before class but his lecture perfectly covers what would've been in the reading.
I really enjoyed this class. Prof. Martinez is very passionate and knowledgeable about Political Science and this shows in his lectures. Quizzes and tests are online. They were a bit difficult for me when I wasn't going to class regularly. His powerpoints are vague so going to class and paying attention will make tests easier.
Mr.Martinez lectures are amazing. You can tell he has real passion for what he teaches which is much appreciated when you don't find the subject interesting. He grades off quizzes which are given almost weekly and 3 non-cumulative exams. All of these are "open note, open book, open Google" as he loves to say.
Professor Martinez was honestly an amazing professor! His class easy overall just make sure you attend lectures if you want an A in the class since some quiz questions questions can only be answered by being present. You are only graded by 10 quizzes and 3 exams so make sure you do good on everything.
Professor Martinez really cares about his students and is a really nice person. His class was easy! The only thing is that all of his grades are quizzes and exams, they are open book but the questions can be worded a little weird! Overall, I recommend taking him!
Be prepared for an extremely boring class, which isn't his fault but the material and ppt almost put me to sleep every day. Make sure you take notes on the speaking lectures because he doesn't post them and you need them for the quizzes/tests, he has questions not directly on the powerpoint. Overall, not a hard class if you make sure you listen.
Great teacher who actually seems like he loves his job. I wish I could have him for my other history classes. We have weekly quizzes which are open notes and the tests are open notes too. Attendance isn't mandatory which is nice but make sure to stick around for movie days because questions about the movie may appear on a quiz.
Attendance is not mandatory. Grades off weekly quizzes. Few tests. All tests and quizzes are at home, open notes, and open Google grades. He shows three/four movies (they are good). Lectures otherwise. Powerpoints are on D2L, but he explains the content through his lectures.
AMAZING PROFESSOR. YOU Don't NEED NOTES. His PowerPoints are the only notes you need to pass his 10QA weekly quizzes. His lectures are entertaining and relates to course and IRL matters (Attendance not required). His quizzes and exams are by his words "open note, open book, open google". Only 2 grades, quizzes and exams (10 points extra credit)
He rocks! His lectures are engaging and there are no assignments other than weekly quizzes on D2L. We'd have movie weeks every month as a break from PowerPoints BUT they also tie into the course and are important to pay attention to! If politics make you tilt your head, take this man because he'll apply real-world examples that are understandable.
If his classes are open, take them. VERY informative, hilarious, and down to earth. Tests are online, no lockdown-browser, and open Google.
Mr. Martinez is an amazing teacher. You can tell he is very passionate about history and it makes class interesting in fun. While the class is pretty lecture heavy, the lectures entertaining so I was never bored and I always wanted to go to class and pay attention. Quizzes and tests are open note and several movies are shown. Loved this class.
This man is great! Everything is "Open note, open textbook, open google" so literally no reason you should not have an A in this course. Bless Mike
I usually don't care about American Government, but his lectures were fairly interesting because he is well spoken and he's interested in what he's talking about which makes it better. His quizzes and tests were easy because it was open note.
One of the easiest classes I've taken so far at Ksu . EASY A literally ! We only HAD quizzes/EXAMS and they were due on Sundays . He even says himself that these quizzes are open note , open textbook , and open goggle . Attendance is not mandatory . He replies back to emails very quickly . I ended this class with an A and you can too :) . 10/10
literally easiest class I've ever taken. Everything is open google, open note. All tests and quizzes are online, you have one due every sunday. This professor also is very great at lecturing if you actually are interested in the subject.
The easiest class ever. I only attended a few classes in the beginning of the semester and still made an A. Only 1 homework each week and every test is open note and "open google". BY FAR the easiest class I've taken. He also makes class fun and interactive if you do decide to attend. He is very funny and passionate about what he does.
One of the best professors I have ever had. The tests and quizzes were all "open note, open textbook, open google". Easiest A.
Easy A, very interesting lectures but you don't have to attend. Quizzes weekly, but all assignments are open note, google etc. Definitely worth taking no matter if you just want the credit or you're looking to actually learn, he'll get you both.
He makes this gen ed class as easy as possible. Every quiz and test is open note without lockdown. He encourages the use of google. If you are actually intrested in the subject, his lectures are engaging and he really loves to talk about the government.
Mr. Martinez is a great instructor. He is very funny and you can tell he's interested in the content he teaches us and tries his best to make something very boring be interesting. The test and quizzes are fairly easy and open note open google so everyone should be able to get an A in his class
Easy A class with open-note, open-book, and open-google quizzes and tests. Professor Martinez makes lectures engaging and the material interesting, even for those not into politics. Unstuck study is a great study aid alongside the provided resources.
Professor Martinez was phenomenal. He had clear expectations of what needed to be done and there were only 10 quizzes, 3 exams, and a few extra credit opportunities. If you were in class for most of the lectures, he would give you up to 2 points added to your final grade. Tests and quizzes are also open notes, open book, and open google!
