Very nice guy. His lectures are interesting and he makes the class fun. Tests are multiple choice and one essay question...not as hard as it sounds. He gives you the information you need to study for and also gives extra credit options. I would definately recommend him.

Wonderful Teach'

Took his class for both histories, he made you work for the grade, but he made the class fun, somewhat looked forward to going. Its as simple as doing all the work, and getting an A.

I dropped several History classes before attending Brookhaven. I loved this class. I actually looked forward to going. If you work on your id's and prepare for your essay ahead of time, there is no way that you won't make an A. Another bonus for your hard work, you might not have to take the final. He is by far the most interesting teacher ever!

Great teacher. Doesn't waste time with silly homework, but gives EC opportunities and makes it very hard to fail. Everything that will be on the test is on the syllabus he gives at the beginning of class. LOOOOOOONG essays, but he gives you MORE the enough information and makes it fun and easy to listen and learn. So great I took him for both.

He does expect students to work for their grade, but thats the way it should be. Great teacher, very excited about History and reflects in his teaching. Long essays, but listen, and things are easy. Makes the class fun, well for History anyway = )

He is very kind. The essays are long, and you are expected to EARN your grades, but he will do just about anything to help you if you really do try. Great personality, fun to listen to/talk to. Best history teacher I've had!

I would recommend this teacher to anyone. At first, i thought it was a boring class, but he made it very easy. The way he teach like you listen to a story in the tape. you can make A very easy as long as you try. His test is straight forward.

Mr. Moore is fair and always ready for class. He is a good teacher. No homework, only 4 tests make up your grade, you drop the lowest grade. he cuts you a lot of breaks, like take home essays in tests, etc. Just go to class and do the test reviews and it is an easy A.

This guy is so cool. Its all true - take 4 tests, drop the worst one. He remembers his students, even ones from past courses. He interacts with his class, doesnt look down on us. He knows his stuff and is passionate about it! Tells the story in an interesting way. I'm sad I have no more history classes to take. And it wasnt even my thing!

This guy is a fantastic teacher. He is ALWAYS prepared for class and on time. He is fair on his teat and the grading that he gives out. The essays are long and he bases most you’re your grade there. Keep to the important stuff and you’ll do fine. Just read the chapters in the book. The best history professor at Brookhaven by leaps and bounds.

Awesome professor. I hate history, but I loved this class. I learned a lot, and I was always interested. Plus he's a great guy: Remembers his students, very friendly and funny, and really treats you like an equal. It's also a good balance between a blow off class and a difficult one. Pay attention, do your work and try hard, and you'll get an A.

What a wonderful teacher! Moore is so damn likable and gregarious! He makes lectures interesting by using pictures, video clips, and excerpts from poems. His handouts are amazingly helpful, and he even writes up outlines for the essay for the class. He is a fair grader and gives everyone an equal opportunity to get an A.

Great prof. If your grade is high enough will excuse you from final week and taking final. I got excused but went to class anyway b/c I didn't want to miss his lectures. Never lived in TX so this was the first TX hist. I took and I actually learned a lot.

Mike Moore is an awsome individual. He knows his subject by heart.He is not a super easy teacher but he is fair and helps you really learn something in class. he has 4 tests per semester and lets you drop your lowest score.

GREAT! GREAT! GREAT! I'VE NEVER LIKED HISTORY AT ALL!!! BUT AFTER TAKING HIS CLASS I LEARNED ALOT AND IT ACTUALLY STUCK!!! HE IS A AWESOME TEACHER! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!!! HIS TEST ARE A LITTLE ON THE DIFFICULT SIDE BUT IF U STUDY U SHOULD BE FINE!!! =]

VERY EASY TEACHER! His tests are very easy, he tells you your essay your going to do, and also gives you ID cards which are on the test. So if you do the ID cards you will pass the test. I only had to take 3 tests since he dropped the lowest test grade. I didnt have to take the final. He is a cool guy to talk to and very lenient.DONT BE LAZY THOUGH

Very good teacher. He is very clear and if you have questions he will answer them without making you feel stupid. During office hours if you ask him questions he will help you a lot for the exams. Very nice professor!!!! You have to be willing to read a lot and go to class. I got an A and I didn't have clue about US history but I did read a lot.

Yea, everybody else has pretty much summed it up about Mike Moore, but I wanted to rate him anyways, overall this is the BEST history teacher I've ever had.

He just a big jolly ol' man! History use to be my WORST subject, but since Professor Moore is such a character in the classroom- he will engage ANY student to like history! I got an A in his class, for going to class, listening to lectures, doing extra credit & following the study guide. Excellent Teacher & VERY funny! :) You will enjoy his class!

Great Teacher. He really knows his stuff about history, and he really enjoys teaching you. I really liked his class. It is not that easy as some say, but there is opportunity for extra credit. I heard he is the best history teacher on campus and I could agree with that.

He made it clear at the begining what he expected. He Gave us a review sheet at the begining of the semester and everything needed was on it. Over all great teacher and basically easy class as long as u know how to write

There is not one thing on the test including esays that he does not give you before hand. The test material is extensive but if you study there are no surprises. He is an interesting lecturer. You will not be bored.

Mr. Moore is the best. He tells u what he expects and he gives u all the id's that u need for the tests-So if u know them u will def. get an A. He tries to help his students out alot. He also gives an outline for the essays and helps his students with any questions they have. He is very happy when u attend his class and pay attention.

Mr. Moore is such a GOOD teacher!! His lectures were intersting he caught your attention n he's funny! Gave extra credit as well and gave outline for the test essays so we knew what we had to expand and write bout. he also gave a list of id's for the multiple choice questions :) i def recommend him!

My favorite class and teacher in this school. Great lectures. If you like history take this class, you are going to enjoy and learn. It is necessary some dedication and time to read the book.

Class is mostly informative and interesting lectures. He will drop your lowest test grade which is nice. There is a lot of reading, which you will have to do if you expect to do well. Mr. Moore gives you every chance to succeed, you just have to do the reading and take the tests.

Great teacher. I took 1301 with him and I made an A. As long as you listen in class and take good notes, you should do fine. Reading the text is optional, but it helps some on the tests. I am registered for 1302 with him in August.

Keeps you interested, and very easygoing. IDs are straightforward and its easy to keep up.

Great Prof, if you really want to study? take him. His assistance is more than a father can give. He listens to you, answers question, negotiates, and give informative lecture. I had an A(100) with him in 1301, and am already making an A now in 1302 with him also. Prof Moore is every students dream.

Amazing teacher! I absolutely loved him and am switching my major to History because of how much I loved this class. I took a summer class and still got a 102. He is very helpful and tells you exactly what will be on every test so unless you just don't even look at the ID's he gives you, you'll get an easy A :)

very nice man. he seems to care enough to get to know you as much as a person with that many students can. YOU MUST STUDY! coming to class helps too. I think maybe too many side stories when lecturing but he is trying to keep everyone interested

3 multiple choice test and 2 writing essays. the essays r basically an extra credit since he would give u 50 out of 50 if u followed his instructions. read ur IDs and u would get an A. gives u 30 points extra credit. step at his office of u have any questions and hell welcome and answer ur questions. btw im esl student so everything was new to me A

I absolutely love Mr. Moore. His lectures are always interesting and he adds a lot of fun stories. He gives IDs for the tests so make sure to take advantage. He answered my e-mails on time, always answered my questions, and really seemed to care about me and my well-being. Very sweet man and an amazing professor. I'm planning to take him for 1302.

He is an amazing teacher, one of my favorites. Lectures are long but portrayed into a story line, it allows the class to be easy and interesting. Tests and writing assignments are simple if you know the material. He is very helpful if you need any help, offers extra credit. Great teacher!

I honestly always hated History class because it bored me, but when Professor Moore gives lectures, he makes it interesting and I love listening to him. His class is just lectures every single day. There's no little assignments or quizzes. The Course is made up of 3 Exams and 2 writing assignments. He gives a bunch of extra credit!! Leaned a lot!

Took both History classes with him. Attendance is a must if you expect to pass. Amazing lectures and there are simple assignments 4 tests and 2 essays. He is so helpful and passionate, if you love history and even if you don't, you will enjoy this class! You need to read along to follow lectures.

During the course you will want to be in attendance. His slides are very informative and will give you key terms to study for the exams.

Took him for History 1301 and 1302 he is great. He is understanding, which is important for a teacher to be. He offers many extra credit opportunities but he gives them in class. If you are planning to skip then he's not your guy, his lectures are pretty clear and consist of what will be on the test.

He's a great teacher. His lectures are amazing. I did not have any basic about the U.S. history and I learned a lot from him. The syllabus is clear, so you already know how many tests and papers you have during the semester. You have time to read book and study before each test. Additionally, you have an extra credit paper worth 30 points.

I had Mr. Moore my first semester at Brookhaven and I love him!!! He reminds me of the grandpa figure I never had. If you show him you care he will help you as much as he can. Can be very funny and class is usually pretty enjoyable.

I've always loved History and I didn't think I could be so attentive in this class since it was a large lecture class but I'm wrong. He made the lectures inspiring, he painted a visual for you and he could relate with every student with humor and enthusiasm. Grading criteria is more than easy to comprehend and fair.

Professor Moore was a really great professor. His lectures were interesting and he covered a lot of really interesting topics. There was not a lot of homework, but the tests and essays were difficult. You will do well in this class if you take notes and don't skip class.

Professor Moore made history fun. He gives a lot of information ion lectures that was not clearly stated in the book. Grading is fair, the tests were relatively easy if you attend class and take good notes.

Overall he was a very knowledgeable lecturer who projected printed power points as his lecture material. I would recommend a good phone camera or some to take pictures with fairly high quality because sitting in the back can be hard to see the screen. The tests should be multiple choice and he includes a VERY helpful studyguide with them.

Show up to class, don't leave early. His lectures are incredibly interesting but unless he tells you to write a fact down you only need to study his key terms he gives out for your test in order for a B at worst. (lowest I scored was 88) utilize his extra credit opportunities and it's almost impossible to not get an A. ( for both Hist. 1301-1302)

Super easy class Ive made all As on my test and on the analysis documentary essays as well. As long as you study the key terms he gives out for each test, you do not need to read the book or even pay too much attention in class ( although he does make it interesting). Also he gives out a ton of extra credit !! taking him again for history 1302!

Professor Moore is never in a bad mood! This class is easy to fail if you dont do the work because there isnt much of it. 3 exams, 2 writing assignments. The tests cover a lot of material so do the key terms, read & study notes to do well. Extra credit helps. Writing assignments can be done quickly, but dont procrastinate. Sweet professor!

Again, this man is never in a bad mood. Long stretches between minimal assignments and tests (3 exams, 2 essays). Do the key terms, take and study notes. Essays are graded according to content, not quality of your writing. Many extra credit opportunities.

I had Mr. Moore for History 1302. I wish I would have taken him for 1301 as well. He was super friendly, down to earth and a very caring professor. Class was so much fun and easy. He really wanted his students to succeed. My favorite memory of his class was when we were going over the 1960s and he let us watch The Beatles movie A Hard Day's night.
