Mr. Palaski certainly is, overall, a good professor. He's a tinge arrogant, but that's a minor glitch. He knows A&P very well and I definitely learned a lot in his class. Many students found his exams difficult, yet I found that if I studied my class notes and read the text thoroughly, I did well.
Unless you're a mind reader I do not reccommend. Many people have dropped his class due to what seems to be his lack of preparation and clarity and it's confusing affect on his students. Not to mention he is short tempered and just plain rude on some days.
Reeeally wish I had taken a different teacher.
He was absolutely the worst teacher I've ever had, I would never recommend him to anyone. He was arrogant, unclear and talked to us like we were grad students, failing most of my class and not even caring.

Did not like this professor! Do not take him for a&p!!! Very unclear, boring lectures, not a lot of enthusiasism. His tests were not that bad but....if 32 out of 35 students get the same question wrong i think it was clear that he did not teach it!! unfair and teaches the class like it is your only class! DO NOT TAKE THIS GUY!!
He is a good instructor who has a lot of knowledge about the subject. He is very down to earth, and can relate to what it is like to be a student. I enjoyed every moment of his class, it was not easy but I learned a lot.
The teacher is very disorganized, sarcastic, rude, unclear and very hard to follow. The class average for the first exam was 68%.
The only way you can pass his class is if your a relative. Obviously one has taken his class. He had to pass somebody. Do NOT take his class. HE talks about becomeing a surgeon.... what the hell are you doing here??? GET out of his class Waste of money! Anyone else is better then him.
I do not recommend this teacher to anyone. He is arrogant, lazy, makes you feel stupid if you ask questions, and does not prepare you for his tests very well.
As long as you come to class every day take notes or record him, the classs is very easy to pass.
He really knows his A&P, but he's not a very good teacher. He doesn't prepare his students very well and thinks we're all dumb for doing bad instead of thinking he's the problem. I wouldn't recommend him.
He is very arrogant. Is more interested in tricking his students during tests, than teaching them. He is making himself look bad. One should be able to learn from his or her mistakes. When he gives a test, you end up more confused than before.
I find him quite amusing! He explained what he expected the first day of class. For the students that have not been as successful as they would liked, usually blame the teacher. Mr P is VERY intellegent&Interesting to talk to. Approachable personality. He is more than fair. if u want to be spoon fed. Pick a different teacher.
he is a good teacher
The absolute worst teacher I have ever had.I'm a straight A student who had to drop his class. His tests are all trick questions. The man is just down right rude.He doesn't care if 99% of the class gets a test question wrong. Its always the students fault. He's not changing his ways of teaching either.Unless you can read minds good luck!A total waste
He knows his stuff but he needs to learn how to teach it to his students. If you take his class be ready to teach yourself.
Mr.P is a good teacher. He knows his material and his tests are fair. He tells all students on their first day what he expects of them. Would you want someone in the medical field taking care of you if they could only pass A&P by doing extra credit work? There is a lot of material to memorize, only the serious need apply!
Mr. Palaski is a wonderful teacher. He knows his stuff. Classes are a lot of fun. There is a good amount of memorizing, but as long as you apply yourself the class is a breeze. I would reccomend this teacher for Bio 233 and 234.
great teacher

Hard class--be prepared to read and study. But, he is a great teacher & is really easy to talk to and get help from. Plus he is super gorgeous!! :)
He is a good teacher, however during his lectures he gets very side tracked. There is a lack of what exactally he expects of you for tests, however, I think he wants us to know it all. Which is good, but he does require too many chapters for one test.

Horrible teacher
Girls be aware of him as he is always staring at girls....He is always talking about his dates and girl friends....His lecture is never organized...I wont recommend anyone to take him, u will have to teach yourself. He thinks he is sooooo hot, though he is not....He is more interested in tricking the students.
A very good teacher. He is v.helpful. i know many r complaining about him, they r never happy people. He is very very hot. n absolutely the best teacher. I would recommend him. I wish I could take him in 234.
He was the worst teacher ever! More interested in tricking the students and doesn't care about them because he is very rude. Does not prepare you for his tests at all. He may be smart, but if your going to be a teacher, LEARN how to teach it.
I would not recommend him as a teacher. he knows alot about what he is teaching but is all over the place in notes and his tests are way too hard, you'll never know what will be on it. he gives NOO instruction in lab!!
Greatest teacher I have had @ HFCC. I liked him so much in 233 I took him for 234. He has so much knowledge that he is willing to share. Lectures consist of a lot of information but very useful. If you study this class is a breeze. I would strongly recommend him to anyone and everyone even if you don't need this class i would take it just for fun
Tough, tests are straight from lecture. Good guy
He gives no direction in lab. Tests are very hard, and he jumps around when he lectures. It's very hard to take notes. I wouldn't recommend him.
He was very hard. Cool guy but found it impossible to pass the class...even with studying. I have never failed at class in my whole life until this one
ok seriously best teacher at hfcc hands down! i love him!
In my opinion, he was a nightmare of an instructor. We pay good money for good instruction and got ripped off! He tries too hard to come across as something he is not. The positive comments on here are very questionable.....

The worst teacher I've ever had and I'm an experienced student who already has one college degree. He has taught me nothing, his labs are pointless, as are his lectures. All he is good at is tooting his own horn! I was looking forward to learning about A&P and so far I've taught myself everything! Do not take him!
hes interesting and knows a lot about the content hes teaching...lab practicals arent too bad, thats what got me a B in the course.. the tests are pretty hard but then again so is the material you're learning..ive recommended this teacher to a few people and they liked him.
horrible teacher. were not in medical school yet to talk to us like we are in one. Its hfcc for godsakes. i passed with a C but i studied my heart off for a it. DON'T TAKE HIM ...TAKE SOMEONE ALSE INSTEAD .
Mr. P gets his kicks from treating his students as if they are completely beneath him. His tests are over complicated, confusing and cover far too much information. I am a 3.8 student and could only get a 2.0 in his class. I studied my butt off and this was the best I could do. Mr. P needs to get a life, since he has forgotten what it is like.
Good Teacher, Tests are from notes, dont waste your time in the book, but make sure u get good notes. Lab isnt too hard, just make sure u know everything on the lists he gives out. He really knows his stuff and he usually has stories to tell that are really interesting on the subject.
both me and my friend had c's in hisclass..at the end of the semester he changed the nubmer of points to where we were now receiving a D and we studied like crazy..he does'nt let up and doesn't give us any credit or leyway dont take him
I am on the deans' list and I only got a C in this class. I went as far as to drop another class to free up more time for this one... to no avail.
He is rediculous with his grading as well as fairness with regards to help.
I NEVER GOT A C IN MY LIFE IN ALL OF MY CLASSES..THANKS TO HIM, NOW IM REPEATING BIO 234 WITH A BETTER TEACHER...THAT WAS A WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME TO GO TO HIS CLASS. IT WAS WORTHLESS. NOT TO MENTION HIS GRADE IS STUCK IN MY TRANSCRIPT
His quizzes were VERY EASY! I thought he was a great Professor. I looked him up on this site before the class started and was VERY nervous by all the Negative comments. It was no piece of cake but def. easier than what students portrayed him to be!!
He is a nice guy, and he does have some funny stories. But he talks way to much, he goes off topic and he wants you to take notes on everything he says. He is also a very hard grader.
HATED HIM..HE WAS VERY DIFFICULT...I GOT A C BUT STUDIED VERY HARD. NOW I REPEATED IT WITH ANOTHER TEACHER AND I GOT AN A-..THAT TELLS YOU WHAT A HORRIBLE TEACHER HE IS NOT TO MENTION MY MONEY WENT DOWN THE TRASH
very hard!!!!!!
He is a very knowledge teacher tough but he is a good.
Good teacher, very helpful. Clear instructions. Comes off a bit hard on the first day, but really sweet guy. Super hot.
lots of work, hard but it can be done. beginning of the class i considered dropping but i stayed and got a B in the class. it wasnt easy and very time consuming.
mr. palaski is a good teacher he says good stories that make you remember the stuff but in the same time he is hard and if you are taking MR. PALASKI don't take another class with it you have to give your whole time to it his labs are so easy but the lecture is sooooooooo hard and confusing you have to be so prepared in order to get a good grade
Poorly Organized. Stated "I don't need to know your names" the first day of class. Thinks he's smarter than he is and that says alot because he is pretty smart. Lectures are all over the place and he will say you don't need to know something then you will find it on the test. But he does admit his mistakes and makes up for them.BE WARNED!!!
As long as you take really good notes from the lecture you will do great. I never had to open the book once, he even said it was only a supplement to the lecture.
Palaski makes or breaks this class. He offered a lot more "item analysis" points for 234 than he did when i took him for 233. Take your own notes from the book! and do the practice tests on sciweb and in the book. His notes and the things he talks about in class sometimes don't cover hardly anything that he tests on. Be prepared to teach yourself!
Thought he was very good, class was quite challenging but if you like anatomy and the human body you will learn! i didnt even buy the book didnt need it, didnt try as hard as i could to do the best and still got a B. stories are ok but this guy is about business and is down to earth. Id recommend him definitely.
I had to take this class to update my skills for a job transfer. He was hard to follow at times. Not the best instructor by any means but not the worst either. What's the deal with everyone taking a class over if they get a C?? It looks no better to repeat a class (with or w/o a W grade) than to get a C! Save hundreds of bucks and move on!
Mr. Palaski is not organized, gets off topic easily. No one knew if they should study the notes, book or both. Some lectures contridict the book..confusing. Lab is easy, but you will teach yourself everything here as well. I took this in the Spring 7 wk class and studied about 4-5 hrs/day and got an A, but its hard. The test reviews are helpful.
Two Words: NAPOLEON COMPLEX. God, I've never had a teacher that wa this arrogant in my life. He think's that HE CREATED the human body or something. Not too approachable, and WAY too flirtatious. Take Anatomy elsewhere!
Took A&P 1&2 with him. The stuff is very hard to learn. But he makes you learn it, and you will remember it. He is a great and funny teacher if you allow him to be. Dont judge him to quick, he comes off strong, but he treats his students wonderful if you stick with him.
ugh he is the worst teacher ive ever had...he expects you to know and doesnt teach you, you basically have to sit in lab and teach yourself and occasionally he will go over the bosy parts. yea anatomy is hard with any teacher but his tests are the worst!! I do not recommend him to anybody!!
RUN!!!! He is a HORRIBLE teacher, when you ask questions he tells you they are stupid questions and that he doesnt have time to and wont answer them. He is VERY flirtacious and talks about how obnoxious students to other students. In lab you basically teach yourself. He puts things on the test he didnt talk about but he just says its in the book.
This class is non-stop from the first day. Read, read, read and study as much as possible!
I heard this teacher was tough. I've learned so much from him. He is one of the best teachers I've had. I think that the students that don't like him, are the students that don't study. This is the teacher to take if you seriously want to learn.
He is serious about teaching, and if you art too, then you will do great!!!
Great teacher! All you have to do is show up to class and pay attention and you will do fine. His exams are somewhat difficult and you have to study
He is an amazing instructor. He is extremely knowledgeable about anatomy. His lectures are a bit disorganized but you learn and retain what he teaches. I would recommend him to everyone.
Professor Palaski was a hard professor i had to show up everyday and study really hard to get my A but it was worth it, i learned a lot from his class. his lectures are crystal clear and all his tests are from his lectures so pay attention and take good notes and also read the book it will help you
Mr. Palaski is a GREAT teacher. Yes, the class is hard but thats the point of school.. to learn things you dont know. He is there to help you with everything. In lab you teach yourself but thats why you have lab partners. Palaski is your intructor,he is there to answer all your questions, he isnt there to hold your hand and give you all the answers
I passed, but the class average on tests was almost always a failing grade and the highest was usually a B. I would recommend trying to take the same teacher for both A&P courses. I had a different teacher for 233 and if I had a buck for every time Mr. P said "as you should have learned in 233", when I actually didn't...
Mr.Palaski is a great teacher and very helpful. Always learning something new. Must study everyday in order to perform well in his class. Very open about each and every test. Turn off cellphones during lab kicked a student out from lab. Doesn't allow water or food in Lab and Lecture but otherwise very helpful man.
Mr. Palaski is not an easy teacher at all. On exam day you better know your stuff. Read the book very thoroughly. And whatever you do make sure your phone is off in class, he will kick you out/fail you on a exam if it rings.
I had Mr.Palaski as a teacher this semester and its no easy A. He makes you earn your A. The class is so fun though, I never wanted it to end. Hes an amazing teacher, and super funny. Makes you understand things really well. 5 lecture tests (75-100 questions, not to hard) 3 lab tests, SUPER easy. Highly recommended. Best teacher
He was not a bad teacher. Although when he lectured he spoke so fast as if everyone already knew what he was talking about, making it hard to take notes. I recommend being there every day,use a recorder and study! It's alot of info to learn in a little amount of time. TIP: start learning bones, muscles,&cranial anatomy before the class even begins
Do not take this teacher!! He is the worst ever! All he does is talk about his experience in the morgue and his live in girlfriend. Such a waste of a semester!
Had him for BIO 233 and am about to take him again for 234. He is by no means an "easy" teacher, he doesn't hold your hand and guide you through the material, or buffer your grade with a ton of extra credit. But he's fair, and if you pay attention in lecture, take good notes, and actually S-T-U-D-Y, you'll be fine. Oh and NO CELL PHONE in class!
Hard, but fair. Study!!!
Does not use the book at all. No notes. Not organized. Has a lot of stories to tell. He just talks and good luck following .... He is a cool guy though. Not a teacher i would recommend .
Had him for both A&P 1&2, not easy classes by any means but doable. Study consistently and keep up with the chapters and you'll do fine. Mr. P is fair, he does lot of review and gives extra 'item analysis' points which helps a lot. I could do without some of his more gruesome pathology stories, but he's a pretty cool guy overall. :)
if your trying to take a class for fun ths is not the class for you . this instructor makes you use your brain , and if you passed his class you will be proud that you learned something . he is easy going and knows what he is talking about .his stories are related to a medical condtion he experienced or someone in his family .
Starting off in the semester I was extremely intimidated by Mr. Palaski. He seemed mean, but I stayed in the class and came to realize after a while he is a great teacher!! His tests and quizzes are hard, labs very easy.. I dedicated most of my study time to his class and if you don't study you will not pass his class.Take good notes and read book
This class is a piece a cake i passed this class with a A- And I did not study for 2 exams. A big advice is to take notes because whatever he says is in the test. Loved this class. I learned so much. If u want to learn something. Take this class. Study and u will do good
You need to put the time in but it is doable. He provides you with power point notes and gives you a solid amount of time to prepare for quizzes and tests. If you are not successful in his class you have no one to blame but your self..I highly recommend him.
Mr. Palaski is an excellent teacher. Very intimidating at first, lightened up as the term moved on. He definitely knows his subject and will be most helpful if you just ask. Do not try to take advantage, he's not gullable at all! I enjoyed him as a teacher and would recommend him to all who really want to learn!
Awesome teacher. would have taken him for 234 too if he was teaching summer semester.
Mr. Palaski is not only helpful but extremely bright, he can answer just about any question you have (I'm taking 234 with a teacher who doesn't know anything...so I miss that). You have to actually work for your grade, just pay attention to his lectures and study, its not that hard. I really enjoyed the class, even though it was a short semester.
BEST TEACHER IN THE WORLD! Took it in spring (which was super condensed) and got an A+! Didnt use book at all! Exams are STRAIGHT from his lectures! Oral reviews make up the exam! Makes you truly learn the material! Very funny and interesting to listen to! Wish every teacher was like him!!
Was very clear and willing to explain to a student several times to get them to understand.I loved having him and would recommend him to anyone.
This class is not easy, but this instructor made it as easy as it could possibly could be. Quizzes/Tests were based on lectures, so taking notes and lecture attendance is important along with putting in the effort yourself. I loved this class, and teacher. If you need help he makes himself available. He is great and I highly recommend him!
This class is lil bit challenging, just by reading books you can not get all the answers right in the exam or quizzes, as he ask some questions from his lecture. So you have to take notes! But his grading system is fair, he gives some extra points after every exam, it helps to maintain the grade. If you do not have choice thn you can take it.
People, if u want to learn u should take this professor.I'll admit that the class is hard, but hey nothing in life is easy;if u r planning in going to the medical field, this teacher is the only A&P professor that will make u ready.TAKE NOTES!! He is very funny, handsome and most importantly he wants everyone to understand. I highly recommend HIM!!
Palaski is one of my favorite teachers and i am so happy i took him for A&P.The way he lectures captivates you. It is not just lecture but a great learning experience. I would never miss a lecture just because his class was fun. He has a lot of great personal experience. He only tests on what he lectures, taking notes is a must& quizes once a week
Yes this professor is tough, but he expects you to actually be proactive in studying and that you will act like a professional student.
worst teacher i have ever taken!!!!
I loved Mr. Palaski. I was very interested in the class to begin with, but he is a great teacher. Quizes were from his lectures, he offered extra credit. Was willing to help students out to understand material. You must study for this class because it is not easy, but if you study what he tells you to you will do well.
Took the class in the Spring, it was pretty challenging but very doable. Make sure to write down everything he says, and use your notes to study for his tests. Mr. Palaski is a great lecturer, he can get off topic some times with his stories. Overall good professor, would recommend.
I took Palaski in the spring and I'm so glad I did. Anatomy is not an easy subject, but Mr. Palaski is a great example of how a teacher should teach/lecture. You have to take really good notes as well as reading the chapters given to maintain a good grade. Overall he's an awesome teacher that truly knows his information & cares about his students.
I took this class in the spring, and it was VERY challenging, but he was a cool teacher. Study notes and youll be fine. He does get off topic alot, but if i can pass this class, almost anyone can =P
Mr. Palaski was by far the most helpful professor I've ever had at HFC. He would relate the material to real life situations which made it so much easier to understand and he would tell us stories which was great because it kept the students awake. His exams are exactly everything he says in class. If you go to his lectures, you'll pass.
Very, very smart. Fun teacher. Pay attention in class. Great anatomy instructor. Recommend. Two chili peppers;-)
Mr. Palaski is a very hard professor. He expects you to get everything right away. Hes a bit funny at times, BUT makes it impossible for you to get AT LEAST a B in one of his tests and quizzes. Retaking this course with a Different and Better professor. By far, the Hardest anatomy teacher on campus.
This is a very tough class. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to this subject, though. Took this class in the Spring so it was very fast pace. Everything he says is on the exams. As long as you're a good note taker than the exams shouldn't be too difficult. His labs are also extremely helpful. Overall, you'll either love this class or dread it
Very tough teacher. Lab is a "teach Yourself" setting. His lectures are ALL over the place and very hard to follow and take notes. Not clear not precise not fun not fair.
Mr. Palaski's class was probably the hardest class I have taken thus far. With that said it was interesting, he has a lot of real world experience that makes for great stories in class, he is excited and incredibly knowledgeable about anatomy and physiology. If you take his class you will learn a lot but you have to put the work in.
He will spend lots of time telling the same stories from his childhood over and over again, then realizes he farted away all his lecture time. He will then zip through the next lecture like a caffeinated speedy Gonzales because he's so behind. He gives pop quizzes and his tests are crazy hard.
Mr. Palaski is by far the best professor i've taken at HFCC. I seriously don't even want his class to end, because you lean so much and he's vey knowledgeable. Do your part and you will be fine in his class. He's hilarious and his quizzes are mostly announced. Very caring and you are expected to do your part. Take GOOD notes and be willing to learn
Mr. Palaski is by far tha hardest teacher. His lectures are all over the place and it is impossible to receive a passing grade on any of his test or quizzes. The only reason I am passing is because I do well on the lab practicals. He is not consistent with his lectures and tests. Do not take him, majority of class dropped
he tells his childhood stories and he's funny but its impossible to pass this lecture exams and quizzes with an A. He's always behind so he rushes everything. His notes are all over the place, he's unorganized. Lab is a "do it yourself" and he gives you 1 hour to know the stuff in lab before you present it to the class that same day.
Worse prof I've ever had he talks to the class as if we should already know this stuff ... I hated this class so much and I LOVE science!
He knows so much, and is so enthusiastic about teaching that he tries to unload every facet of a detail in record time(like all courses)& forgets that its twilight zone to someone else. He's a great guy though, he teaches awesome life lessons and made me quit smoking,I think the benefits outweigh the losses. He's good if you enjoy a challenge.
Mr. Palaski is by far the best professor AT HFC. YOU WILL LEARN A LOT. Very funny and his exams and quizzes are very simple if you take good notes and pay attention. He's down to earth and very easy to approach. Don't hesitate to ask questions and be willing to learn. BEST BIO PROFESSOR:D
Take this professor if you want to learn. He will go fast with his lectures but again your a college student and expected to do your part. A MUST TAKE COURSE IF YOUR GOING TO THE HEALTH FEILD AND ACTUALLY WANT TO LEARN. loved this course. Easy course if you do your part.
BEST PROFESSOR AT HFC. a must take course. Do your part and you will be fine. amazing course. i wish i can take this course again.
Mr. Palaski and he's really good at what he does and all you have to do is take notes and you will be set for the course. I earned an A+ and every student is capable of that if they do their part.
Overall, he is a pretty good professor. He knows his stuff, but he makes it very difficult for you to remain focused. He tends to drift into personal situations, which take a way from lecture. After his ten min rant about an "Audi" now I am no longer even interested. He side tracks a lot.
I'm taking 233 now with Mr. Palaski, and he's by far the best professor i've had in years. This class does require you to do WORK. if you're looking for an easy A... DON'T TAKE IT. VERY MUCH RECOMMENDED. Take him:)
This is my first rate my professor to show what a worse teacher he is. He doesn't teach bio. He talks about his personal life all the time .
Mr. Palaski is a very hard professor. He expects you to get everything right awayBUT makes it impossible for you to get AT LEAST a B in one of his tests and quizzes. Retaking this course with a Different and Better professor. By far, the Hardest anatomy teacher on campus.
test are tough class is tough ask questions or they won't be answered
I just got done taking bio 233 with Mr. Palaski. I must tell you this has got to be my favorite proffesor. His lectures fly by . he puts effort into helping students succeed. Unlike other teachers I've had he is willing to help if you need it. Very humourous, he makes boring lectures fun. In all its a tough subject you need to study to pass.
the tests are very hard ! you have quiz or test every week.
First time taking A&P, and my first mistake was taking it during Spring semester. I have never taken a class this hard before. You can tell Mr. Palaski is very knowledgeable, and knows his stuff, but he lectures to us like we all have been studying this material as long as him. Beyond stressful. Class average is low right now.
Mr. Palaski is undoubtedly very intelligent, but he lectures like we all have been studying this material as long as him. Hardest class I've taken to date. I'll be shocked if I pass, which means I'll just have to repeat the course. Although he is very interesting, the difficulty of this course as is, is not helped by his way of teaching.
Mr palaski, is mean and arrogant. His class was super hard. He is always off topic. He expects you to know what he is saying. He's a know it all. He moves way to fast. I would not recommend him to anyone. I struggled in this class. I recorded his lectures, took all the notes I could, and studied like crazy but i did horrible on his tests.
Mr. Palaski is such a smart proffesor, But i would recommend him teaching a class were u have knowledge of A&P. He projects his lectures as if we know what hes talking about. I understand u cant blame the proffesor fully but personal if u want someone teaching u new material, & not just emphasizing it i would not take him. First C on my transcript
I'm just here to say I love Mr.P and I miss his lectures. If I was given a chance I would take him again with a heartbeat.
Mr. P is extremely intelligent, knows his stuff. Lab exams are what you put into them. I struggle with the lecture exams, I have asked him for tips, I form study groups, go to the bone room and still do horrible. He is a very tricky on the exams, you must know the material inside, outside and backwards to pass. Will be retaking with another proff.
I hate him he is so rude and it was a snow day he send us a email not to be late for a test and no reasons and streets where bad he told us drive slowey don't be late like he wasn't late .
I just want to say to me he was the best teacher ever. The ones that hate him just don't want to study. Nothing is easy, you have to try to get a good grade. That's what I did and ended up with an A.
He is smart BUT is off topic 70% of his lectures then he gives lecture exams that are so tricky. I studied my ass off for this class and recorded his lectures and i kept having to skip thru half of the recordings cause he talks about his personal life TOO much. Dont even get me started on lab, hes labs are MORE lec. Take with another prof, trust me
If your want to pass his class you will have to study like crazy and record the lectures. Only one person in our entire class ever got a 100% on a test. He gives free extra credit on all tests though. Wouldn't want to take the class again, but made it out with an A+.
Very challenging course. His tests are very tricky so you have to make sure you read the textbook inside and out and pay attention to his lectures cause he sometimes says things that aren't in the book but are on the tests/quizes. If you put the time and energy, you'll pass with an A+.
I had Mr. Palaski Fall semester 2016. This class was tough but nothing is easy, you must do what you got to in order to get a good grade. He does sometimes go off the topic and he can be sarcastic. If you don't understand something he can help. I also had to record his lectures and listen to them afterwards. He is a very nice teacher tho.
Great anatomy professor, very smart , amazing lectures , also his lab are extremely helpful .
hated him at first. . Be prepared to teach yourself. He goes off topic a lot; however, he is very intelligent. I took him as a last resort. If you take him, make sure you STUDY STUDY STUDY. Lots of EC and easy quizzes if you study. Exams are all of the quizzes put tog. Links a lot of the material to nursing which is nice.
Great professor, Got an A+. showers us with extra credit, item analysis. .... be prepared to consume knowledge otherwise, you will not make it. STUDY from the textbook, notes, and lectures. If you can't then I suggest you find some other professor who gives it to you off the notes. Pay attention to the story it helps you remember certain aspects.
Hes a really good teacher but like all... get ready to study because his tests are difficult.
Mr. Palaski is a great guy when you get to know him, but his lectures go on and on about his personal life way too much. It is very difficult to understand what he expects you to know for the tests and quizzes. All points are given through ONLY quizzes and tests, so you need to know your stuff and STUDY.
This professor is constantly talking about himself and his wife's accomplishments. This professor does not like kids, the elderly and obese people. This professor likes to correct you in front of your peers.
ONE OF THE WORST TEACHERS AT HFC! THIS GUY IS HONESTLY WHY HFC DOESN'T LIST THE TEACHER'S NAMES ANYMORE THEY JUST SAY "SCIENCE STAFF" BECAUSE ONCE PEOPLE SEE HIS NAME THEY WON'T TAKE THIS GUYS CLASS!
Honestly I like Mr. Palaski, I think he really cares about his students being successful and wanting them to pass. I must say his exams can be difficult, the best advice I can give is go to lecture, record if you can, and ask questions. this is the type of class were your grade is based off of exams only... but I still think he's a cool teacher.
Mr. Palaski is a great guy. Anatomy is not a easy class regardless of the instructor. Do not just use his study guides you will fail you must take notes in class and outside of class, you have to read the book. He does curve tests and quizzes. He teaches students in lab too. He gives you the grade you have earned. you can makeup quizzes and exams
Mr. Palaski can be a funny guy, but he needs to focus on the lecture instead of going off topic with random stories. He explains the Anatomy stuff such as the bones, muscles, and nervous system well. The problem with his lectures is that he thinks you already know some of the content so he breezes through the material. His lectures aren't the best.
not the best out there but he was somewhat decent. Gets off topic a lot. His test are tough so study or else youll fail. Would perfer someone else
always talking about his life... wish he gives us homework
Incredibly knowledgeable! Just come to class and be a respectful adult and you will pass. Heavy lecture but had outlines for each chapter to take notes with. Answers questions and is helpful. Would take again for sure!
One of the worst professors in the science feild. Be prepared to go to class not to learn, but listen to his horrible jokes. Always has a smart remark whenever you ask him questions. Be prepared for a pop quiz every week of the semester. Went home and taught myself basically everything.
He's a very hard teacher. Your entire grade is based of exams and lab practicals. There's no assignments. He gets off topic and has a story about his life for everything. There's a quiz after every chapter. If you're failing, he does nothing to help. He's a better lab teacher than a lecture teacher. One extra credit option.
You can be a 'respectful adult' and still end up failing, it's not about being 'respectful' at all so I don't know where you got that from. You can study everyday and still fail, whenever you need help, he does nothing at all and expects you to know everything. Only about 1 person passed a quiz and the average was a 12.
This has been the toughest class I have taken. Palaski does a great job of teaching the material but when it comes to the quizzes and exams, they dont correlate. The lectures are harder than the labs. He expects you to already know the material, as if you had taken classes before his. If you can, try to not take his class. If you cant , good luck.
He was one of the best teachers i have taken for a bio class at HFC. offers a ton of extra credit. There is many chances to improve in the class. He does give pop quizzes very often, like once every week. However, if you pay attention, you will realize his lecture exams are just the quizzes, like the exact questions and format, just more questions.
Awful teacher he should go do something else
Hes very sarcastic & makes mean jokes. He gets off topic in every class. Pop quizzes weekly whether hes finished lecturing on a chapter or not. His quizzes are the lecture exams. He offers one extra credit assignment worth 6 points. Lab was much better & was actually enjoyable. Hes very knowledgeable but his teaching style & attitude needs work.
I drove to his class everyday without my seatbelt on hoping I would die before I make it to his class.
By far the worst professor I have every taken. I failed his class this an E. he does not give any homework to help bring up your grade, he doesn't provide notes. all he does is talk all hour about how much he hates babies an talks about his wife. he doenst stop talking all hour. very annoying, rude and does not care if you pass or not.
Professor P is a hard grader , hes impersonal, arrogant,& his lectures are all over the place . He speeds through the material like his students were with him his entire 8 years of schooling . For me his teaching methods need some work If you can take someone else go a&p go for it
He is a great professor. He really knows what hes teaching and cares about his students passing. If you attend and actually work hard youll pass his class.
Greatest professor Ive ever had! First teacher to push me to put the work in and help develop my study habits. Understands the material in great detail and explains it very well. He gives you the main points in his lectures but its up to you to read and further your knowledge on the subject. Im a CT tech now and I owe a lot of it to this man!
This professor is very straight to the point but also knows the material well and explains things very well. If you show up to class and actually study everything he tells you to, you will pass. All the reviews below that are negative scared me at first but actually taking his class showed me that he really cares about the students and is honest
Palaski was so hardcore. He was all over the place. His lectures were as if you had taken all the BIO classes leading up to BIO 233. HE EXPECTED YOU TO KNOW EVERYTHING!! When I came straight from BIO 131. His tests were MCAT level of difficulty. It felt as if I was giving exams for a master's degree. He is not compassionate towards other students..
Mr. Palaski is tough, but a great teacher. You better be a read and retain type of person or his exams will be tough. There are many resources on campus including his office hours for extra help. He really is caring and passionate. Don't be afraid to ask questions during lecture. He wants you to ask questions! He is amazing in the lab portion too!
hardest professor i've ever had for any class. highest test score was 65% and the entire class had no idea what was going on. there's a quiz every week. i have no idea where these positive reviews are coming from. RUN.
Wasnt helpful if people didnt understand a concept and told them to listen to their recording, read the book. If asked what to study for the test he said'everything we covered the last 2 weeks'. Really didnt do much to make things easier to understand or remeber. Going to so a lot of learning on your own if you take him, so clear your schedules.
Mr P definitely knows his stuff. As long as you show up every day and actually read the book, you will be fine. Lab exams were pretty easy. He gives you a lab manual with literally everything you need to know in it. He does help those that are actually trying and showing up. No homework but lots of quizzes and tests. I really enjoyed this class.
Mr. P is very clear in the very first class/syllabus about what it takes to pass this class. Read the chapter prior to the lecture so that you have a little understanding of what he's teaching, and record the lectures. He's very knowledgeable about the material and has funny life stories that relate to his teachings to break up the lectures.
I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT PERSON SAID HE WAS GOOD! HE ISN'T, HE'S HORRIBLE. HE CAN'T TEACH, GOES OFF TOPIC VERY EASILY. ALSO, HE DOESN'T HAVE ANY POWERPOINTS. HE SHOWS DIAGRAMS FROM THE BOOKS, AND TEACHES THAT WAY. HE DOESN'T WRITE ANYTHING ON THE WRITE BOARD, HE SPEAKS VERY FAST AND EXPECTS US TO UNDERSTAND THAT WAY. I'M NOT A COMPUTER.
He'd always get sidetracked in lecture whether it be stories about his personal life or something completely off topic. He never really explains the material well enough that you would understand, you would be basically teaching yourself the class. He likes to tell jokes and make sarcastic remarks.
Overall, Mr. P was a great person and also very funny, but his class was super difficult. You have to read the book to be able to understand anything he says in his lecture. His lecture tactic isn't the best. He only uses the diagrams shown in the book and ONLY describes the diagrams, none of the text. I'd never take another class with him.
Don't take him. He gets off topic very easily, spends the whole hour talking about his personal life. He teaches the class as if he just improvised the whole lesson. He is a mess. I don't like his teaching style, very difficult to understand. He TALKS A LOT, and none of the talking he does has anything to do with what we are learning. RUN!
This class is hard because its A and P but he gives you every chance to improve your grade with some extra credit. You have to read before the class starts to have a general idea of what hes going to talk about because he can move fast. He tells you what will be on the test some is complex but you know what will be on the test.
BEWARE!!!!!!! Do yourself a favor and don't take him. You will thank me later, I'm a straight A student and this is the first class I've ever had to drop. Take it with any other teacher besides him!!!!! Trust me, TAKE WITH ANOTHER TEACHER!!!!!
He literally doesn't tell you what you'll be quizzed on and neither does he tell you what is going to be on the lecture exams or anything! He gives out a quiz every week n that's it. His video lectures do not help at all! On top of that, you have to email him a specific way or he'll ignore.I advise you to stay away from this professor at all cost.
Gives zero feedback on quizzes and exams, zero discussions about what chapters the quizzes are on, and gives 15 minute time limits on 20 question quizzes that involve lots of reading. Other than that, the questions come straight from the book and the exams don't require lockdown browsers or cameras. Also doesn't offer extra credit.
He was great. Good lectures, good teaching mechanics. Go to class and study and you will do fine. It is a tough course but he explains things well and is accessible if you need help. Also he is a good person, my fiance was having our boy during finals week and he worked with me to give me a chance to study and take the test. He is a stand-up guy.
His grading is pretty fair so if you read the chapters and study you will do well. But he is extremely rude and entitled, he won't even respond to your email if he thinks it's not good enough for him... Treats you like an idiot if you ask a question and won't tolerate any mistakes. Be prepared to teach yourself
He is a good person but very tough professor. There is 7 exams that are 100 questions each. You pretty much have to teach yourself the material so if you like going to class to listen to him talk about himself instead of lecture the material, by all means, take him. You will know everything about this professor after 2 weeks into the semester.
Would NOT recommend, 1. Very confusing teaching style 2. Not an understanding person when it comes to health emergencies!!!! 3. and also prepare for tests because they are going to make or break your grade.
This class is very hard no matter what professor you take it with and there is a lot of material that you need to know for his tests. His tests are mainly from the book and some of his outlines. He clearly explains what is going to be on his tests, and does a review the day before the test in class. He offers some extra credit quizzes.
He is very helpful when you go to him during his office hours. His tests are mainly from lecture and the textbook. You have to read the chapters in order to do good on his tests and can not just go by his notes. He makes funny jokes during class and is a very uplifting teacher. You NEED to study a lot in order to pass this class.
He is an amazing professor, 10/10. I would take his class again if I could. He makes the lectures fun to listen to and allows you to ask questions when needed. He also curves the exams, which helps a lot.
I highly recommend that you take this class 100% online it's a very heavy course. The professor doesn't give any feedbacks on quizzes and exams, zero discussions about what chapters the quizzes are on. Get ready to teach yourself everything.
The prof is a decent person but teaching might not be his strong suit. He loves wasting time by sharing personal stories, reads off the lecture slides, gives weekly quizzes with no feedback, no extra credit, doesn't answer emails, and exams are 100 qs each. But he gives us a preview of the exam questions before the actual test, not a lot of hw.
His teaching style is confusing, you basically have to learn it all yourself. He is not understanding at all. Very strict grader, he takes his job way too seriously, do not take this course.
He isn't necessarily a bad professor, but he sounds like a walking textbook except when he tells personal stories, which is often. The class is very test/quiz heavy which, of course, you don't get feedback on. Tests were 100 questions which might seem bad to some, but it made it so making a mistake wasn't too bad, he also curved them.
Will never take palaski again, he's disrespects parents during lecture about children. It is extremely unprofessional and rude. His lecture and lab are easy but the tests are heavily detailed so if you don't understand it FIND A TUTOR!
He spends a lot of time telling "personal" stories. Doesn't explain the material well, doesn't give study guides, doesn't enjoy helping, just overall doesn't set up his students for success. Overall he's a cool guy and besides teaching I'm sure hes very enjoyable. However teaching wise I definitely would NOT recommend taking him as a professor.
Definitely not an easy professor, if anatomy wasn't hard enough he makes it 10x harder. Don't get me wrong he is very passionate and knowledgeable on this topic, but his lectures are very hard to follow. He is a great professor for the lab portion, but for the lecture portion he is not. He doesn't provide any slides or study guides.
Mr.palaski is a great teacher!! DONT judge him through the ratings here, his lectures and labs are as good as you need before actually studying your best in his class, he gives extra credit, and all you need is to take good notes from lectures and you will be fine, Again DONT judge from what you here about him, HE IS A GOOD TEACHER!!!!
A very good and fair professor. For such a difficult class Mr. Palaski made it simpler. He runs an EXCELLENT lab and allows students to record his lectures to better study which you will need to be doing a lot or you will certainly lose.
I've never left a review until now, if you can take anyone else please do. Worst professor I've ever had. No help whatsoever, no study guides, 5 lengthy homework assignments only worth 5 points so they do nothing for your grade. 5 quizzes 20 questions each with limited time worth 10 points. Good luck passing if you fail an exam. Would not recommend
This class is tough, but Professor Palaski makes it manageable. His lectures aren't the most engaging, but he's clear about test content. Use the textbook, attend study sessions, and try unstuck study for helpful prep - it really made a difference for me.
I only had him for lab. He was one of the worst teachers I have ever had. He speaks to you like you should already know what he's talking about. He talks about his wife. A LOT. He is very knowledgeable about A&P, but his attitude and disposition makes it difficult to approach him with questions or concerns. Don't do it to yourself.
RUN don't look back. A 70% IS A FAIL!! Lecture exams BACK to BACK. finish one start studying for the next. we got 19 days to study for 4 chapters. He will not answer your email if he thinks it's not professional enough. He is rude in emails. He words his exams confusing. He will never give extra credit: “You don't want a nurse who passed from ec”.
Very bad teacher he does not care about his students He doesnt answer questions after class He makes the class way harder then it is The class is already hard enough and he just adds onto it. Be prepared to teach yourself in the class because he will not teach you right. He doesnt post his slides for the students to use and just reads off the board
If you do the work and study the class is really easy. There's four exams and a few quizzes and a homework assignment or two every month but overall the class is really easy. He gives lots of extra credit and is really lenient. He takes questions from the quizzes and includes them in the test, I'd 100% recommend his class
A 70% or lower is failing As if Bio 233 is already difficult he makes it even more difficult. He words his exams difficult, there are 4 exams and 10 quizzes the quizzes are online abt 20 questions and each question is worth .5 points meaning only 10 points. you need to study a minimum a week before exams. He's a good person but a bad professor.
The professor was only good in lab. Lecture, was horrible. It would be him talking about his personal life, or just telling us stuff that he thinks we already know. Like he wouldnt really "explain" everything. He was very kind to the students, and he really is nice. He doesnt give slides or videos on lecture so you have to attened lecture to pass.
I was nervous to take Professor Palaski's class after reading the reviews about him. However, after taking his class I saw he's so knowledgeable and clearly loves what he's teaching. His class is tough but not impossible. Show up to lectures, study the lectures, and the read the textbook and you should be good. He's respectful and very helpful too.
Embrace every moment and every piece of information this professor throws at you! Some of the info wont make sense at first but trust when this professor says he will change the way you think in terms of what we are and our capabilities within the A&P realm and phenomenas. blessed! Love the challenge, always. No excuses here if you want real growth
If I knew in advance how awful his class was, I wouldve picked someone else. Everything he teaches is not in the exam or on the outlines. You're putting more effort into passing than actually learning. Be prepared for him to make lectures about his past relationships and not about anatomy. Remember you are paying for your education!!
Palaski's class is a do it yourself kind of class to be quite honest. Every week you have a 20 question quiz worth 10 points, you get an outline for each chapter that does not cover all of the material for the chapter. You realistically could find better online (I did). His teaching style is very fast in lecture be aware. ultimately not recommended
Taking this class with him makes you feel at Harvard or Oxford not at a community college. He just wants you to dedicate your life for learning a&p.
When I first read his reviews I was so scared for this semester. He is so funny and silly. Everyone is so dramatic, if you record his lectures and take GOOD notes, you will 100% get a A in the class, just study. I would only have to study barley a week prior to average in the 80s. He gives a lot of extra credit too, and study assistant sheets.
He gave us all a bone and asked us to present them to the class of the FIRST day. He doesn't teach everything you need to know so be prepared to teach yourself. READ THE TEXT BOOK! The material you need to know is not clearly defined and he doesn't teach it all in the lecture. The only way to pass the class is to study the book and go to lecture.
He says no one is smarter than anyone else it all comes to the effort you put. He has given extra credit on all the past exams, easy extra credit quizzes, and extra credit lab competitions. I would recommend everyone who has to take this class to take notes from textbook, listen to recording, and make friends!! This class is not bad at all
I would not take Mr Palaski ever again, he does not care about you or your grade. He is very rude when you ask him questions or for advice. He has 4 exams you have to take and they are all 100 questions each. He will have you come in for a review for the exams and NOTHING that he talked about will be on that exam. If you want a good grade RUN
Mr. Palaski is an amazing professor. He really cares about his students, and makes you feel like you could be anything that you want to be just as long as you put the work in. Yes his class requires you to pay attention and study hard, but nothing is better than pushing yourself and seeing it pay off! I'll miss his class.
GUYS LEMME TELL U I LOVE THIS TEACHER, ONE OF THE BEST!!! I was in ur position looking at these reviews and wanting to change my prof so bad. Record lectures take good notes and when u get home, listen to it again and see any notes you missed!!! Go to his office hours, make YOURSELF known. i promise if you study and put effort, you will do great!
Dont take this class, trust me…
Unapproachable, his grading scale does not match the grading scale for other similar colleges in the United States, his is higher. for example, a 70 is a fail in his class. Talks to you like you should know everything already. Im here to learn, not to be belittled.
The only reason I pulled off this grade in his class was because I read the text book cover to cover. The lectures and slides are useless, if you can use the book to study DO THAT. Study to understand not just to remember. He always says "there is no being shy in my class" so if you have social anxiety beware of Lab he makes you teach the class.
For my final exam, he imputed my grade wrong. He put it in the gradebook before converting into a percent, and when I emailed him he said there is no room for error and accused me of cheating and said he would wait for a response before finalizing my grade. When he called me, he was laughing it off on the phone, there is nothing funny about that.
attendance was never really mandatory. randomly pinpoint and tried to accuse me of cheating which was a beyond weird accusation and encounter i've experienced at hffc
DO NOT TAKE PALASKI You'll forever regret it! he'll ruin your gpa and doesn't care about his students nor grade. He doesn't even teach, all he does is upload random slides and give 100 question exams. The exams are tough and so tricky! I honestly don't know why hfc still has him, at least remove him from teaching online because does NOT know how to
He's a great professor if you can understand someone that speed runs the chapters and expects us to understand and expects a 80% or higher on a test or exam. He talks more about one gender than the other with his stories in EVERY lecture, which made me feel uncomfortable. And warning, DO NOT TAKE HIS MORNING CLASSES.
Lectures very fast and doesn't really go into depth but expects you to know everything. Now I have to retake the class! Worst experience ever
He's very nice, but you have to study fr.
The teacher understands what he's teaching, but he expects you to understand it after going over it once. Our class got ahead of the others before we had even taken our first exam. Very few people actually did well on his exams. There's no homework to help grades. All based on the tests. Avoid if you wanna keep your GPA. No study guides either.
