I took this class over the summer. He missed a couple of classes -- so the short session became shorter. Very helpful and made Trigonometry not that hard. Helpful note handouts. Takehome tests.

He his a great Teacher to take during the summer. He gives you take home test and even though you rae allowed only two absences he will let it slide. I took him for 101, 102, 110, 111, and 130. I passed all of his classes with A's. Im not good in math at all

SUPER EASY CLASS! you learn what is on the test..nothing else! i went to class 1 day a week and made 110! and i didnt have to take the exam!

Very laid back, very straight forward, writes on a clean white board with contrasting colors...what he teaches is whats on the test-no reason not to get an A in this class...All take home tests, quizzes count as extra credit and homework is not graded--pay attention in class & take notes, ask questions!

Great guy! Got an 'A' in the class, but really still am wondering what? I will take him again! Comes to class about 50% of the time. I was there 100% of time. Check before going to class especially if you have to drive far. Still all in all a great guy makes math that he teaches easy as pie.

mike is a great teacher. he explains how to do problems so everyone understands. all test but one were take home test. a lot of his questions on the test come from his notes, so take notes. would highly recommend mike for anyone who fears math. great teacher and funny at times.

Salais is AWESOME. when i sign up for classes and i have to have a math i type in his name and not the section i want...mainly because i don't care what math it is, i just want salais for a teacher. there is no reason on the planet not to get an A or B in his class.

Best Math Teacher EVER!!! Very easy. Only 5 test and no final! Homework counted as extra credit. No attendance taken. Doesn't show up half the time but an overall GREAT teacher. EASY A!!! He is also very understand and treats you like an adult. Take HIM!!!

I love Mike. I am not a math whiz but he makes it easy. He may not always be there but when he is he is wonderful. He will tell you what you need to know and will move fast when he needs to. Most of the time we are done with class very early! I will be planning to have him for 102 and any other math classes. Just take notes and pay attention!

But I did have an 8am classes. his lectures are straight to the point he's very helpful and very clear to understand I earned an "A" its easy. best math instructor just dont take him at 8 am

Doesn't pussy-foot around. Tells you what you need to know. Doesn't look/treat you like an idiot for asking a question. Most math-nazi's make math so complicated and over word the material. He doesn't. Same stuff he lectures is on tests--very clear of what he wants. **Be first in line to register for his classes, they sell out FAST.**

Salais is the most laid back instructor on campus. His classroom is a 100% stress free environment. Just do your homework & tests and you're good. Easy A!!! And if you're taking a difficult course like an upper level biology, and still have to take math...you want Salais. It makes for a good balance. He's a really good instructor.

This class was very easy.Do your test most are take home and you are fine. He NEVER shows up for class. He showed up 30-40 percent of the time. Its an easy A though. got him for 102 also.

I can honestly say Mr. Salais class took all the Math fear out of me. He explained the information, an gives the students only the information you needed to know. I'm going to miss his class, this is how classes should be taught! Do your homework,and the test and you should get an A. He needs to give a class to some other instructors I've had!

Salais is the easiest teacher ever. Class never lasts longer than 45 mins. Every test is a take home test and homework is extra credit, up to 8 points on your test. If you fail, its your fault. I got an A!!

If you want an EASY A, take your math with him! The test are take-home...Some of the examples you go over in class and homework problems are on the test. Final is in class though. He is cool as hell! If you wanna EASY A..You need to take his class. All of the tests are take-home. Some of the examples on the board and the homework questions are on the test! Seriously the easiest A ever. He cancels class all the time and when class isn't cancelled, it lasts for about thirty minutes. He's still a good teacher though. Some complain you don't get your moneys worth but I think you do get your moneys worth and a couple free classes. Definitely recommend Salais to anyone registering for a math class.

Mr. Salais is nice, knows the material & can break it down. He's absent a lot & doesn't usually email & let you know beforehand. If you struggle with math & need a prof that will show up everyday, I wouldn't take him. But, if you're taking his class as a review, do it! Quizzes & hw are xtra credit. Tests are easy, class is a gpa booster

Mrs. Salais is awesome. If you are a struggling student my recommendation is that you take him, he knows his stuff and explains. Homework & quizzes are extra credit. Will be taking him for Math 102. His classes fills within 2 days of registration.

He teaches even the hardest concepts as if they are super easy. I was never in class more than 30 minutes. Tests were open book/notes and homework was extra credit so it's practically impossible to do bad unless you're just really slack. He's a great guy but I don't really feel like I got my money's worth... Just wasn't challenging at all.

4th attempt at Math 101, his methods of teaching and understanding are very easy to understand! He goes over test material so that students are successful. Attendance is mandatory but the Homework is very helpful and is great for extra credit which is well deserved for students! Overall best math teacher!

I hated math before I took his class then passed his class with an easy A. HW is extra credit and he explains everything in simplest terms and shows you the fast and easy way to solve any problem. He is hilarious ! So much fun to be in his class.

I wish this proffesor would teach all maths at Midlands. I went to the academic center many times to get help. There are people who are good at math and there are the one's that can teach it and that is hard to find. A must have professor.

I am horrible at math but I got so lucky with this professors. I walked in on. The first day terrified and ended up exempting the exam because he explains everything perfectly and clear. He did miss 8 classes during the semester but he kept us on track... But he doesn't use D2L to inform you he uses a note on the door which sucks.

May I say, what an amazing professor to have if you struggle with math or already know the material. Homework is extra credit, tests are easy and he is extremely clear and helpful throughout lecture. Uses examples from the book, I recommend taking him for Math 101, 102 and whatever math he is available for.

This is most likely the best math professor at the school. Multiple people in the class were bad at math and usually failed but passed his class because of the amazing explanations he gives. You will need your book but not mymathlab. He let us go at least thirty minutes before class was suppose to be over literally every time.

If you want to make an easy A and not learn difficult material, take his class. He means well, wants all his students to pass by making his tests super easy. Homework is all extra credit for tests. One of my favorite professors. The way he teaches explains things really well and i'm not very good at math. He gives extra credit for homework so it's almost impossible not to get an A or a B on the tests. The tests aren't super hard, just study and take notes! By far the best professor I have ever had. I have taken all the math classes that he teaches (101,102,110) with him. He gives you all the notes you need for tests, lets you use your notes with test occasionally, his study guides are exactly like his test, and gives extra credit. It is impossible to fail his classes. I made nothing but A's and B's.

This guy is great! I've never taken an easier math class. He's super laid back and chill yet he's also great at teaching. He takes his time going through each lesson and will rework problems if there's a question. He gives out homework and review sheets for tests. If you do them you'll get bonus points on the test. All in all, amazing teacher.

One of if not the only professor I will take a math class with at tech. I am really bad at math and having bad professors only made it worse. Salais grades you on what you need to know and thats it. Anything he assigns as homework is extra credit. If you are passionate about math Id look somewhere else but everyone else, this is your guy.

Mr. Salias is hands down the best math teacher I've ever had. At my very best, I have been a C- math student my entire life. Mr. Salias has a way of making everything so easy to understand! if it was required for me to take another math course, I would definitely take mike. he communicates well with his students, he keeps you updated and his notes are very clear to what's going to be on the test. Some tests are even OPEN NOTES! if I could rate mike higher I would he deserves a full 10 out of 10!!! Great guy!

Very short class periods. Take home tests. Only issue is that he would cancel class a good bit without any notice (I think he was sick). For someone who has a longer drive, its a bit irritating that an email wasnt sent out when we didnt need to come to class. Other than that, easy class, great teacher!

Mr. Salais is a very laid back professor. All the tests he gave to our class were take home tests and he even gave us the questions and answers for the final exam which were only about 3 or 4 questions. If you do all the homework or even just some he gives you extra credit on your test every time. Come to class and you'll pass this class.

Professor Salais goes over each concept step by step in his lectures. He has a way of making complicated math problems simple to understand. This is my third math class at Midlands, and he is by far the best Math teacher I've had. I only wish he taught 120. Don't miss class because the notes and his explanations are your key to success.

Summer session went by fast. Lots of hw so keep up with it. Grade depends heavily on test scores but study his practice test and youll get an easy A! Easily approachable and able to reach outside of class. Wish he was teaching Math110. I was always horrible at math but he explained them in easy to understand concepts. Do the work and its EZ PZ.

Mr. Mike is the best math teacher. I REALLY struggle with math, but he makes it easy to understand. He is funny and kind and really cares about making sure his students understand the course and suceed.

All of the homework assigned in this class is extra credit so take advantage of that! He explains the concepts well and even has a few take home tests! So passing this class is not difficult at all. A good bit of classes were cancelled which interfered with the lessons but otherwise, this class was a breeze!

This is my fourth time taking calculus and he made it so much easier to understand! Everything is straight forward with no surprises. Study for the 5 tests and homework assignments and you'll get an A. His lectures are informative yet brief and he always responds quickly if you need help. I would highly recommend taking his class!

Professor Salais is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet in your life. For my class, he made it so that once he opens a homework assignment, it's not due until the very last day of class. I think he may have even reopened some quizzes. Also, he doesn't normally take up the whole class period. Once he's done teaching, he's done. So sweet.

I really appreciated focusing on numbers and rules and not getting lost in math theory. It's been a while since I enjoyed math again, and he made this possible. If you need calculus for later in life, a different class may be better for you. This class taught me what I needed to pass the class and I couldn't be more grateful. You want this guy!

I have nothing but nice things to say about mr. mike. It's open-notes math, couldn't be easier! He is very relaxed and will answer any questions, no matter how "duh" they seem. He almost always lets class out early because frankly he gives you exactly the info you need and then sends you home. Straight-forward, clear expectations, really enjoyable.

I have never loved a professor this much. He was extremely understanding and open to working with students to figure out what worked for them. The content was easy (as long as you're semi-decent at math) and the course was easy to navigate. If he could tech every class of mine I would LOVE it!

What a great dude. He let me pester him with questions at any time of day and never seemed annoyed. He was fun to joke around with and was very lenient. He also taught algebra very well. I love this guy so much, i took his online MAT170 class and if you have any troubles with math at all this is the guy you NEED. he takes his time explaining and makes sure you understand the concepts. only grades on tests and as long as homework is submitted he doesn't care past that. super chill dude, %1000 recommend his class
