Mr. Staub is an outstanding instructor. He teaches with enthusiasm, and has a profound knowledge of the subjects he teaches. It is clear he enjoys his work, which makes it a joy to be in his class. His sense of humor makes for a very interesting class.

Excellent instructor! Reading the text for this class is a must. It is not mandatory to come to class on a daily basis, but if you don't you will miss out on a lot. Mike explains things well and makes the class interesting. He gives out study guides that are very helpful. I highly recommend him.

Mike is a great teacher. Through the use of critical thinking, he helps you get a better grip of the material. A lot of reading, but allows for more thorough coverage of material and puts class time to discussion, which always helps. Really great guy! Definitely would take another of his classes!

This was a great class! Mike is the BEST teacher I have had at Black Hawk so far. I really had no interest in psychology before I took this class and now I love it! The tests are easy as long as you read and do the study guides. Highly recommend!

Professor Staub has a very unique style of teaching. This unique style of teaching was key in my learning experience beause he was able to use real life analogies that made sense.

Phenomonal Teacher! This was my favorite class. His class is easy as long as you are there for the lectures. He also gives you the study guide at the beginning of every unit that has exactly what is on the test.

I hope I have a 'B' in the class. However, I feel had there been some mandatory homework assignments for each chapter I would have had a better grade. I say this only because I am a poor test taker. Otherwise I learned a lot from the class and mike was a great professor and made the class interesting and easy to remember and learn.

Mike did a great job explaining everything. You can tell he really likes his job and this adds to the enthusiasm felt by students to keep on track. The only thing I wish was different was that there would have been some sort of homework to go along with the chapters to really keep me on track throughout the course. Overall good professor though

Absolutely one of my favorites, he couldn't be a nicer guy or more enthusiastic about his subject. Attendance isn't required but follow his study guides and you'll do fine. Also, he is willing to go leaps and bounds to help you.

I am taking it at 8am which is not always the easiest class to learn in due to my everlasting longing to sleep, but he definitely keeps my attention and I am always looking forward to class because you never know what he'll say next! He is very energetic and has a lot of fun doing what he does. He makes the students get involved with class which if you participate will keep you from falling a sleep. He makes you do a lot of work on your own but if you put the time into it and show that you are at least trying, and show up to class every day he will help you get through it.

had absolutely no compassion. singled out people in class to make crappy comments about them. generally extremely rude and condescending. study guides were a joke: they cover literally everything in each chapter, so just read the book and memorize every tiny detail and statistic as they will be on the test. lectures lack cohesion and organization.

Psychology with prof staub was a great experience. He was always full of energy so paying attention was easy. Tests could be difficult but if you study there is no reason to get anything lower than a B.

Great Professor! Class was always interesting and a lot of fun. Yeah, having just two test was intimidating, but they weren't the only thing that determined your grade. Plus he said that he wouldn't do that the next time he taught the class. I would definitely recommend him!

He made class really fun an interesting, he was lenient an he pushed back due dates for our papers because we all thought we needed more time, he's all around a fabulous professor. Have only two tests was rough, but he admitted it was terrible. Great class, didn't suck.

While a bit different from the average professor, he really tried to teach the relevant information and skim over random useless skills in the book. He moved paper dates to accommodate more students busy lifestyles. Flexible enough while still expecting the work to be done.

Totally loved this class. mike mixed his lecture with comedy and was very easy to understand and get along with. He was very helpful and kind. If you have the chance take him!!!

Good professor. His lectures are different and he tries to have fun with the material while teaching. Tests are tough and over 3 chapters every 2-3 weeks. Advice: Do the online quiz he provides. It will take you a few hours but it will be 75% of the test.

I really enjoyed this class. Professor Staub covered the important information in class and thoroughly answered any questions I had. He knows the material well and obviously enjoys teaching it. As long as you read the text, do the focus sheets, and take the quizzes, it is not difficult to do well and have a good time.

Staub teaches the material, some times goes off the subject but I think he's funny. You have to somewhat teach yourself the material but it's a college course so that's expected. He's super willing to help you with questions. I had a great time and learned a lot in his class. Wish I could take him for more.

He's a fun teacher and makes the class interesting. In order to do well you need to read the text, he gives you a quiz for each chapter for extra credit. He's passionate about what he does. He's easy to talk to, so if you have questions don't hesitate to ask - he answers them. Overall the class is easy.

What a great professor!! Very enthusiastic and is a very nice guy. He knows the material to a T. The Power Points follows along with the book and he takes the time to explain slides. While he is very nice and helpful, class is WAY disorganized. Class is spent by asking us if we have questions on what we read the night before. I'm ok with that but he spends nearly the entire class period going over only a few things. He also spent nearly the entire class period the day after the super bowl talking about the events of the game.

He is a fun teacher, lots of Southpark references. His tests are really easy, just take the quizzes online about 15 times each and that is the test. You need the book to study. He wants you to read ahead of time but doesn't care if you don't. Highly recommend.

This was the first time Staub had taught the course and I thought he did a pretty good job. He goes over most of the material in his lectures, but you're going to need your book for the online quizzes and tests. He's awesome and helpful, and I'd definitely recommend him.

Although I'm not into psychology, he made the class fun. His lectures are dynamic and he knows his stuff. You must purchase the textbook to pass this class. He gives you focus sheets (a study guide) for each test and if you know that you are sure to pass. Extra credit is available all semester and you only write two short papers. Highly recommend!!

I felt like this class had a lot of potential to be interesting, but the lectures were so long and dry it was awful. The slides were jam packed with information, and he would read every word and not deviate much from it. This class was almost all lecture. A few online quizzes, a few tests, and one project. He is nice and funny though.

He is very knowledgeable about Child Psychology and is easy to understand. The book is needed to understand the materials for the quizzes and tests because the power points do not cover everything. There is a research paper that each student is independently responsible for and it is easy to procrastinate.

You will need the book for understanding the material and lectures. He provided us with a study guide and as long as you use it you will get an A. You do have to memorize vocal but it's not hard if you put a little time to it. It was not a hard class and it was enjoyable. He shows videos that are engaging, fun, and helpful. He's enthusiastic.

I loved this class. Professor Staub was so much fun. I learned a ton, although I had to work hard. He gives you every opportunity to do WELL here. It's all a matter of whether you decided to take advantage of the tools he has for you. Take advantage of asking questions. He's so willing to answer them.

If you go to BHC and don't take Staub, you are doing yourself a disservice.

There were moments where the class felt disorganized, but it wasn't bad. READ THE BOOK or else you're screwed. It can be hard to take notes at times since he's fast with the material. But read the book, do the study guides and you'll be okay. Fun class and a cool professor. Staub thinks he's funny, so be nice and laugh at his bad jokes.

10/10 would bang. Total DILF. Take his class, it's amazing!

I took Professor Staub over the summer and he keeps you engaged in the class and makes you actually enjoy what it is you're learning. He offers extra credit quizzes and offers a helpful focus sheet. As long as you can take humor and sarcasm then the class will be a blast because he makes it fun. Definitely recommend him!

One of the best professors to take at Black Hawk. Super funny, enthusiastic, and willing to accommodate to students by moving due dates and offering EC. Reading the textbook and taking the quizzes help the most for exams. Focus sheets are useful too. Class is not mandatory, but you'll probably enjoy attending class because he makes it fun.

AMAZING PROFESSOR. Cant say that enough. By far my favorite I have ever had. Black Hawk does not deserve him. He pours his heart and soul out in his lectures and is a genuine person and he made it SO EASY to want to come into class and actually learn even at 9:30 in the morning.

Mr. Staub is a very thorough teacher, and he obviously knows his stuff. He's as quick with a joke as he is with an answer, and you're seldom left bored in his class. Tests are a smidge on the heavy side and he'll want you to read a lot, but you'll survive if you just take the practice quizzes. All the answers to the practice quizzes are on Quizlet

Hands down my favorite professor. Dude is hilarious and seriously cares about his students. He's almost a little too laid back and it's amazing. He didn't care if you showed up or not, just as long as you completed the assignments. (Most didn't have due dates) and his tests were easy as long as you studied the material.

This class was my favorite & Professor Staub made his lectures memorable, entertaining and created a fun learning environment! His grading system, quiz/exam grading is very fair. if you do the work and study you will do great in this class! Recommended!

I had enjoyed taking psych in high school, and this went more in-depth. Professor Staub is a fun teacher, always looking out for me and others and allowing time to turn in late work due to online learning. His was the only class I didn't drop that semester, and I'm grateful for him and all he does to help and teach us.

Honestly saved my grade 100%. Let me turn in late work and helped me pass last minute. Took this class twice because I didnt pass the first time, but this class is very easy. He genuinely cares for students and makes class fun and simple. Wish every teacher I had was like him. Above and beyond.

Professor Staub was awesome! He had flexible due dates, so I always knew that if I could not complete an assignment, I would be able to make it up late, and I definitely used that. His assignments are very clear, and as long as you don't get behind, it isn't a lot of work. Professor Staub, outside of class, was very funny and personable!

Staub teaches in a lecture style, but makes his lectures very bearable. Staub allows his students to add sidebars and their own personal stories, making his classes go by so quickly. Overall, he cares very greatly about the success of his students.

This was a fairly simple class. The reading was kind of heavy, however if you manage your time the class is easy. We had discussions weekly that were just 5 things we found interesting or think are important from the readings. He was very understanding if I had to turn things in "late." I didn't even do the research paper and I still got a B+.

Prof. Staub is a true gem to the BHC Psych dept.! His class was structured super well, and the assignments were fairly easy themselves. He allows late work, and honestly gives amazing feedback and is super encouraging!

I learned so much, I like how Mr. Staub used mind tap because there are a lot of effective study tools. I took the mini course so it was a heavy load but self paced.
