I was taking his business class and instead of being specific and telling me whta assignemnets he wanted completed he told me to " read the syllabus" and that was his answer to everything. he does not help at all and his assignments are not productive. this was the worst college experience I had.
He is very clear as to what he espects & how u will succeed. He will make u work but its aggravating because when u need help & ask, he is rude. But think about it, this is college, u are supposed to work. Being rude & acting tough will cause people to be less motivated.
Better without beard
He's a very good teacher, but he sounds like he would be a prick as a boss.
Clear cut sllyabus, provides leeway on assignments if there's a problem. Just do the work on time, take notes in and out of class, study, and you should be fine. Better without the beard.
Easy class. Hand in all assignments and study definitions for the tests for an easy A. Quizzes are take-home.
This guy is so cool. I just had him for management this past summer. He liked to use my job at Hooters as an example from the real world almost three times a day. But, he actually gave us advice we could use and i felt like i learned a lot. He's weird, but hilarious. Easy. Take him. And he's kinda hot...for an old guy,
This guy is a complete jerk that I think fell into teaching as a last resort and completely resents the fact he has to deal with students. He does know his stuff however I believe he expected his career to be elsewhere.
His class was very interesting. The only thing that I did not like is that he had way too much homework, he had more homework than any other of my classes. I received a B in the class, I was expecting an A after doing all that homework..but I guess the final killed it.
best teacher at this crappy school so far. very funny and always likes to talk about wine and beer, i had him for business math and intro to bus. wow what i cool and easy-going guy
Totally unprofessional. Demeaning and RUDE!. Didn't know how to explain material except in his own limited, blider riden way. As this was an online course, there was no discussion board, he is to lazy to moderate one. His study material was riddled with typos and many instances where his answers were wrong from problems on the practice sheets.
PROS - helpful, provides note cards for notes/flashcards, teaches well, shares real life experiences, funny sometimes. CONS - seems to go out of his way to come off as a jerk at times, gives NEGATIVE points on tests so if you answer a certain question wrong you dont get the points for that question and you get points deducted from your total.
Great teacher!! I have always hated math, but not this math. in this class he will teach you math that you can really use in real life! everyone should take this class with Mr.Wade! He is the best math teacher I have ever had! very helpful and comes up with intresting ways to remember stuff. plus he will put in a few funnies in with his lessions.
MICHAEL was the best math teacher I've ever had. I hated math until I took this class with him. He made sure we understood every little thing before going on to a new subject. He was there to help us and you could tell he loved doing so. Plus, hes a great and funny guy! TAKE THIS CLASS WITH MICHAEL!
I got a B in the class; he talks alot about working in a restaurant, but some of it's pretty interesting. He's not very helpful, but his syllabus is pretty well defined. He doesn't explain any assignments, so you're left to kind of fill in the blanks. All quizzes are take-home and his tests are hard. All u have to do is complete study guide before

Do take this as an online class!! He gives way too much work. He is very knowledgeable but not understanding, you would be better off actually going to class. I had to take an online class because of my work schedule and boy do I regret it. I took another online class and there wasn't so much homework involved.
This was a wonderful class! I would definitely take Mike again. Even though there isn't much homework be sure to study before exams. This class will be beneficial to anyone who wants it to be!
I took the online class for BUS 231 for the summer. I felt it was kind of hard to keep up but I did. I would suggest that if possible, to take this class over a 17 week period.
I really learned alot in this class. He is strict but fair. If u show up to class and do the work he will help you. If you don't want to do your part its your fault of you fail. He won't accept late assignments, but he gives extra credit and he will always take the time to help you understand. Not alot of homework.

I felt intimidated & overwhelmed at first with the online course and using Blackboard. However, if one reads everything thoroughly before attending the first class you will be on track and more prepared. Instructor Wade always answered my emails in a timely manner and clarified my questions and concerns. I would recommend The Internship Program
He's a great professor. He makes you look and search for assignments on BB all because he wants you to pass and stay interested. Oh yeah forgot to say HE'S HILARIOUS!!!!!!!! Especially in his Hooters outfit :)
I think Wade is a great teacher. Very blunt, but does take his job seriously and will help you if needed. He allows you to take his test in the testing center if you think you need a lot of time to do well. All quizzes are take-home and all tests are extremely similar to the quizzes. You will learn a lot. It's a kind of math that we can use.
The syllabus kind of scared me but this course wasnt as hard as it seemed.
i took his class online and i wish i didnt because its so much extra work online. and his online quizzes are hard. plus i hear he's a super awesome funny teacher and i didn't get to experience any of it. if you're gonna take him, take him in person, not online
Took this instructor for Seminar and Internship courses. He is very understanding. At first, he does tend to be intimidating. He is straight forward, and doesn't play around. Though, I have to admit that I don't think I would work for him either.

intimidating? not hardly, he is just plain rude and ignorant. how he became an instructor is beyond my comprehension. apparently those in charge at MVCC look the other way. gotta say, he turned me off of the whole MVCC experience and I'll seek my education elsewhere from qualified professionals, not rude, full of themselves jerks.
If I could kiss his big beautiful bald head right now i would. STICK WITH HIM! do your work and study. Dont be intimated by him or his stories! DO WORK and it pays dont be scared by him!!. He will downgrade you for living with parents etc. Do what I did and anything not related to math or business, let it go right over your head! Be a bobble head!!
He was funny and told a lot of stories. Overall, he was a good teacher and as long as you show up and pay attention, the class is not hard to pass at all.
Prefers to tell stories rather than teach. An overall poor educational experience. He is opinionated and talks down to the class as if somehow his experience in food service makes him superior. I'm still trying to figure out how his experience qualifies him to teach. I do not recommend taking him.
Mr Wade is a rotten teacher. Everything you read about his lousy teaching is true. He should probably be doing something else...like maybe a prison gaurd, or a truant officer, or a drill seargant in a POW camp.
I took this class online during the summer. I enjoy the subject of the class which made it easier to get into the information. As long as you keep up with the work you wouldn't have trouble getting A or B in this class. I ended the class with a B and am very happy with that.
I also took the summer class online. We crammed 17 weeks of work into 8 weeks. There was a lot of work to do, but if you pay attention and study you should pass. I did horrible on the tests or would have got a better grade. Overall Mr. Wade was very helpful with any questions/problems I had. LOTS of writing of papers!
Mr. Wade truly enjoys teaching and is very expressive. He encourages teamwork and likes to see students be successful.
Online class only way to go, the less interaction with him the better. Read his reviews, he is a terrible teacher, but I was somewhat shielded from him because it was online, but his arrogance still came through. Avoid him if possible, unless it is an online course where you will not be subjected to his lack of teaching skills.
his class is really easy but he assigns papers and homework that is only worth negative points. this means if u do it, it doesnt matter but if u dont then u can lose up to 200 points. i got an a in the class very easily but i hated Every Single Minute of it. online classes might be better so you dont actually have to listen to him talk so much.
I had Wade for my ethics online class for spring 2010 and the class was very straight forward. The tests were the same questions as the quizes, and the final was the same questions as the test. As long as you print out the quizes and test after taking them, than you should pass the class. txt book was easy to read. got grades asap.
Sham for a teacher. Took his online class. Didn't bother to put together a constructive class or even make sure the problems on the tests were correct. Then took off points for them. Ended up with a F and screwed up my GPA. Never bothers to return emails when you call him out. Do not take his online class
It's math that you can acutally use.Wade is not the best teacher.He wants you to succeed yet he judges you and puts you down.Do not buy a book,he provides all the review you will need through blackboard,worksheets,&take home quizes.Extra credit is easy.Class is semidifficult;keep up with the assignments.He will help you if you ask. dont take online
This class is okay but some of his stuff could use HUGE improvements, namely the syllabus and his grading system. This class may be highly-structured, but it's poorly-structured.
Mike Wade is not exactly the greatest teacher for this course. Everything is in the syllabus which is where he grades from. The Course is difficult he doesnt explain everything, and the class is not structured.
I took the internship and seminar. This was basically basically online and field but had to meet 4 times in class. These sessions were the longest most boring classes. We spent most times talking about his work experience in the restaurant and hospitality field that has nothing to do with why we were there. BUT, he's fair and responds to inquiries.
As long as you do the worksheets and study the take home quizzes you should do great. He is helpful if you ask for it.
Just finished his online classes. Not bad at all, just make sure you turn everything on time. Will receive 0 if turned after 9 pm on assigned day. Other than that, pretty easy.
I don't recommend his online class. He knows his stuff as a professor but he's a bit rude and disrespectful towards students. Seems a bit condescending, too. He encourages people to spell with perfect grammar but his emails and directions are full of mistakes. Can't say I really enjoyed this class, but maybe online isn't the way to go with him. :|
Very knowledgeable; Knows his stuff really well, as long as you do the, you won't have a problem with him. It's about doing the work with him. Does give extra credit and very quick with responding to emails and voice messages1
I have him online for bus 226. Hes an awesome teacher, he responses to my email when he can and yes hes strict on spelling which he corrected me but this is college not high school. Strict on what days homework is due but it gets me motivated to get the homework done early. Very easy going and easy A or B.
Awesome online class! Mr. Wade lays out the whole semester for you so you can work ahead and be done with the majority of assignments. Tests are based off of quizzes which you can retake every 24 hours. Overall, I recommend his class and would take more classes with him in the future. Easy AB... Book required!
Okay, yes he seems like a tough teacher. Everything is outlined and clear on what's due and when. I would recommend him for online, the class is pretty easy if you put the effort into it. Just make sure you don't hand anything late. I learned my lesson by submitting something a minute after it was due and received a zero. You DO need a book.
He knows what he is talking about because he worked in the restaurant business for a long time but when it comes to teaching it he is really bad. It's all simple math but he uses confusing methods and tries to teach you new ways to to things you already know how to. He spends at least half of class time talking about himself and offending people.
His exams and quizzes are clear-cut. Papers are straight forward. Follow the course calendar, put effort into the assignments, and read. The textbook is mandatory!!! You will cover all chapters in the text.
If you keep up with the assigned readings and go to class you should earn at least a B grade. Smart guy... he tries to keep up with the latest computer advances in technology. I took several courses in RTM years ago with him as an instructor w/ night school classes.
He tends to ramble a lot, he tries to relate what we're discussing to real life but he takes the long route getting there. Total goofball & it's awesome, he's very approachable. "Typical" college professor; if you will. Doesn't accept late work.
You get 3 tries on each quiz. Majority of the questions are repeated so your basically guaranteed an A. Take pictures of all the question and their answers on quizzes because the exact same questions are on the exams. Lots of busy work but the whole class is laid out at the beginning of the semester so you can work ahead. Book needed. Easy A.
Do not take any of his online classes. His emails are incredibly condescending, and he will email you to complete assignments asap that are due in the next week. As a student, you should have the layaway to complete assignments on your time, as long as they are submitted within the due date. He does not understand that.
Very easy online class. 4 chances on all quizzes. Tests are the same questions as quizzes. Everything can be found online. The only reason you need to book is for a couple HW assignments which include 4 sets (20 questions each) of short answer assignments. 1 short essay and 1 DB posting/project. Everything is laid out so you can work ahead. Easy A!
Work is posted online so you can work ahead (unlikely). The book was THICK! Each chapter is 60-90 pages. He gives you frivolous papers to do on short videos. The only saving grace is the chapter review papers you have to complete. The quizzes make up the final and tests. He sends condescending emails, turn in time is at 9pm, and no late work.
Summer Semester 8-week course. I thought his class was easy despite what everyone says. 4 Short answers (25Q's), 4 video review papers, 4 quizzes-4 chances each, 4 tests (the same as quizzes) and two product papers. Turn in by 9 pm or you get a 0, but you get all due dates the start of class to work ahead. Deff need the book to complete assignments

This class is an easy A, only if you do the work. Everything is online, tests, quizzes, homework, papers ect... In class we do nothing but talk about world events and stuff on the news. Going to class is a completely waste of time as everything is online. However, he is a funny professor and likeabke, just do your work!
The whole semester is laid out from the very first day so do the assignments before they are due and you'll feel stress-free until the quizzes/tests come around. There are 4 attempts at quizzes and I suggest using up all attempts because those questions will be on the test Book definitely a necessity
The material itself is pretty easy, he has a powerpoint for every chapter. Tests are taken in the testing center. You have to memorize all the formulas. The tests were basically the same as the homework assignments, he just changes some numbers. Do the work and you will pass. His feedback style is harsh.
Do the work and youll pass. However if you can choose another professor I would highly recommend it. He is very rude and extra most of the time. Also he likes to announce how poorly his class is doing. Or in turn he will announce how great a few students are doing and how you should be like them lol. If I could rate him 0 I would..................

WARNING: If you don't learn from your mistakes from his comments, he's not gonna remind you Telling you as a student who's taken him for a semester online, he has no chill. Even in the pandemic, you would think he could have a heart, but NO. That's not happening with this guy. I would honestly skip this class and get another teacher for the class.
Very harsh and doesn't teach you the very hard material hands-on. He blames everything on the student and doesn't try his best to get students to pass his class. If you have a question he'll tell you to re-read the syllabus and read directions more carefully. All assignments are around 1-5 points except tests so if you fail one test that's it.
A LOT of assignments and he never takes late assignments so stay on top of it. Theres 4 lesson tests and 3 tries per quiz. The test ?s are just all the quiz ?s combined. Use quizlet to study, youll find a lot of the ?s there. He does give a lot of extra credit which helps a lot. Dont recommend if you dont have the time or energy.
Even though classes are online, he gives no guidance. You basically teach yourself. He is a condescending teacher who thinks he is better than his students instead of there to help. Save the money and get a teacher who cares.
Honestly having him online wasn't bad at all. Yes it was a lot of work and yes he already wanted us to start it before the semester started but this was an easy A. Just do all the work it really wasn't that bad. There were times where I barely put in any effort on an assignment and got full points regardless. Take him for online.
Crams in course material into deadlines that are unfair to the credit being recieved in the class, expects us to live, breath, and eat business ethics. put an entire lesson into the last week of class that would normally take several weeks
I took this class online. His Canvas course is a complete mess and often repeats information. He cannot even form proper complete sentences. I struggled to decipher his absurd language and ramblings from the PowerPoints. He also has very strange and strict rules to follow. He uses Honorlock, and I have yet to find a good professor that uses it.
The tests he assigns are easy as long as you spend over a week studying, for a business math class, he assigns three semester long essays, it's stupid, also he is very inconsistent at grading homework assignments, quizzes and tests.
Take another professor for this class if you can. I'm taking this class online and this professor constantly sends out emails telling students they're going to fail basically on a daily basis unless we do assignments the day they are announced. This professor is an easy grader that assigns a LOT of busy work.
I took Mike's business math class online BUS 120-300 since Fall 2021 and I'm totally not satisfied with his class. He refused to accept late assignments. Back on Fall 2022, I chose this good professor named John Karopulos better than Mike. Do not even take his class. Please take John's business math classes. It's better than Mike's class.
He spends more time talking about his marriage, pending vacations, and his personal finances than actual teaching. The notes he posts are hardly comprehensible- missing words, issues with then vs than, bad grammar, etc. Will call you lazy if you fall behind/don't measure time well. Only his course if you have time to reteach yourself every lesson.
Terrible professor. First week in the course and so many video assignments that are due throughout the weekend. Almost no time to study anything cause the work is time consuming. Very unfair due dates. No late exceptions. Overall, somewhat easy work but very very time consuming so be prepared.
Respectfully, I believe anyone who had something REALLY negative to say about professor wade is lazy and not ready for the real world. I avoided his classes because of what people said but I'm currently enrolled in 2 of them and he isn't bad just a good amount of work load, he is even kinda funny. Just do your work and manage your time.

Don't take this professor he is so unorganized, everything is all over the place keeps on sending emails when u miss assignments and tell you how you are going to fail the course and tells you to drop it, tests are very hard and long too much work and projects for this kind of course not very supportive for students that are not good in math.
Good professor, class was not difficult. Work ahead and you'll be perfectly fine, this professor is good for preparation for the real world as far as expectations and deadlines go. He fully knows what he's talking about and although he gives a good amount of homework, just work ahead and you'll be fine. 8/10 would recommend taking.
This professor has good, not great content.There is bias in favor of certain publications which seems to counter what I've learned in my COM classes. It is concerning the material/instructions not organized well. I've had very organized and clear layouts/syllabus/content and this professor could use some help in this area.
Old and awful
He was very condescending and said do I know how to write a email at 19 years old and brings up porn in every class it's weird to me I just needed the credits honestly.
This is the worst teacher I have every had or seen in my life. The inconsistency, stupidity, and downright arrogance this man has is beyond my understanding. He should not be teaching, period. He didn't even know which class I was in when I emailed him, and he misspelled horribly and was extremely rude with emails. Never again, learn from my past.
