makes econ fun
Makes learning fun, even at 8:00 AM, I enjoyed his classes the most while at RVC
Took Micro and Macro Economics with this Prof. very good teacher. Makes class fun. Has the knowledge. Does't lecture to us. Wish he taught some other classes.
Very interested in student's learning; explains topics with current examples and humor. Would take more classes with him if I could.
That's a good question, still other?
He is one great teacher. Makes learning fun. Dont be scared to ask the questions.
Makes econ interesting. Youngblood does not just lecture, he interacts with the students, asking them questions and provoking thought. No stupid examples, and straight forward tests.
Great Professor. Trys to make the boring material more interesting. Easy to talk to, all around nice guy.
I asked him ahead of time for the reading assignment for the 1st day of class because I was going to miss it because of a wedding, and he wouldn't give it to me. I thought that was really helpful of him.
A professor that ACTUALLY made ECON fun. Very hard to do if you know anything about ECON. Would highly recomend. Just keep on his good side and speak up in class and you not have any problems.
Knows his stuff. You have to go to every class and then you will do alright. Classes go by fast and you spend most of the time laughing anyway. Who needs to talk about ice cream when we can talk about Beer!
Even though I had to drop his class I found this class very fun. He made the material that would normally be very boring to most of us very interesting. He always came to class very entergetic and ready to go. Great teacher.
Outstanding teacher! His class was the first class I took upon my return to college. Since then, I've transferred to NIU, where I'm currently majoring in economics. Obviously, his course was instrumental in my decision to pursue a career in economics.
Very good teacher. Attempts to make econ as interesting as possible. Values your imputs and ideas.
HES A GREAT ECONOMIST, TALKS ABOUT STORIES SOMETIMES AND ENJOYS TEACHING. I WILL GIVE YOU ADVICE THOUGH IF YOU ARE NOT IN ECONOMICS, SIT NEXT TO A GROUP OF PEOPLE WHO ARE GOOD IN THE CLASS AND HE WILL MAKE YOU WRITE PAPERS WHICH IS COOL BECAUSE IT MAKES
Very nice and helpful! Enjoys his job which in turn makes you enjoy it. Relates all subjects to topics you can understand and relate to.
Great Teacher! He makes the class interesting and tries to relate it to everyday life. Definitly take him as a teacher
can't be trusted
not impressed
I DON'T KNOW WHAT THESE CRACK HEADS WERE THINKING WHEN THEY RATED HIM SO POORLY BUT IF YOU LOOK AT ALL HIS OTHER RATINGS IT JUST DOESN'T LINE UP SO I WOULDN'T EVEN CAST A DOUBT ON THE ABILITY OF THIS OUTSTANDING ECONOMICS PROFESSOR.
he's not exactly god's gift, but he thinks he is
too macho
I hated this class and him.
Had him for microeconomics. This guy is amazing, one of my favorite RVC teachers. Definetly take him for your econ classes. Very smart and very good at explaining things to students. He's a teacher that truly wants students to learn, and really makes a point of keeping the lessons accessible.
Good prof. but many stupid people in class which restricts level of material presented.
thinks he's perfect

Seems like one person is posting bad reviews. This guy is pretty good, he teaches like he actually understands that everyone is mostly new to economics. Lectures easy to follow and keep organized. Too macho? Does that matter? Not for a teacher, doofus.

He is very helpful and understanding.
He was a great teacher!!!
This guy is a great teacher. His tests are hard but don't worry he grades on a curve. Lectures easy to follow. He gives group quizzes which are extremely easy. Is willing to answer any question regarding economics. Take him if you have a chance.
a bore
Makes econ interesting. If you have to choose betweent Sicotte and Youngblood--go for Youngblood. I had Sicotte last semester for Eco 111 and dropped it because i was failing and didn't learn a thing. He teaches straigt foreward material and obviously has fun in the class room. Plus he is in a band!
I think I would think of him better if i didn't have him online. I do email him when i have questions and he makes me feel as if i'm annoying him so now i don't bother and i just stay confused. I'm just not very impressed yet and i have heard lots of nice thing about him and thats why i took him.
A great teacher... Curves the tests at the end of semester... easy extra credit project... Just go to class everytime and take good notes and your pretty much are going to receive a B or higher.
why is a teacher a good teacher just because he's easy?
I don't get it. What's so great about him?I wasn't impressed.

Good guy, took micro and macro, same class both times except the last 2 weeks. Easy to get along with as long as you goto class.
Wonderful Professor! Was especially good at keeping my interest, explained things well, and always helped out if there was a problem. I'd reccomend this Professor to anyone who needs econ.

the guys great, and he's the guitarist for the band "Mr. Big Stuff" whoooo GO YOUNGBLOOD
Professor Youngblood is an awesome professor and he is a good person! You ROCK
Excellent class related all his material to real world situations just participate and you will get an easy A
I'm surprised at the number of bad reviews he's gotten I thought he was great. Always try to relate what we are learning to the real world and plays devils advocate a lot. Seems pretty easy with grading if given the chance I would take him again.
Fun class! Youngblood does a good job of making discussion interesting and relating concepts to the real world. Always gives a good idea of what will be on exams. Exams can be tough, but he usually grades on a curve and rest of class in mostly note taking and discussion along with Aplia homework. I would take him again.
He's a really great teacher, I really like him. Some hints, make sure you go to class and take notes, it helps a ton on the homework and sometimes he gives out extra credit only available if you come.
Great teacher and funny. Extremely interesting and great personality. Just need to study a bit for his tests. Aplia is kinda gay. But he's a freaking sweet guitar player!
WOW this guy had some of the hardest tests I have ever taken in my life. I worked harder in this class than I expected and still had questionable results. He is a good prof but his tests are difficult!!
This was a pretty difficult class, but Youngblood is a good teacher. He encouraged questions and was clear on what he expected. The class consists of 4 tests and several online Aplia assignments. He doesn't take attendance, but it is important to be there. He was pretty generous on letting students use notes on tests. I would take him over again.
Challenging professor, but fair and very helpful. Read the book, pay attention in class, ask questions when you've got 'em and you'll be fine.
MR YOUNGBLOOD IS SO HOT!!!!!! I took him for both micro and macro economics and they both were very hard. He is a good teacher but the material is challenging. BUT HE IS HOT!!!!!!!!!!
gods gift to rvc
Took for ECO 110 and 111. Basically if you go to class, take good notes, and study you will do well. Aplia assignments are a pain at times, but pretty easy to do as long as you have the book. Best econ teacher by far.
Kind, intelligent, clear, answers questions. One of my favorite professors! I have no complains and recommend him highly!
Econ is not my thing. I thought the class was difficult. He was pretty clear on things in class, but his homework was pretty hard. Makes jokes in class and funny comparisons like the sales of bibles vs cocaine.
This teacher is amazing! He is so passionate about it too, after taking this class I changed my major to economics. I would highly recomend this teacher!
this is a fun class, he goes over notes everyday, Homework in on Eagle and you get 2 tries to do it. He is a great teacher. He makes the class fun and simple. Great Class
Fantastic teacher. For some, Economics is not the most exciting class to take. But youngblood was such a great teacher and very helpful. Fairly easy. Homework is done through eagle and you get to try twice, and he takes the highest grade. you have an entire week to get it done. exams aren't hard either
make economics fun
Very knowledgeable on subject and helps out a lot to make sure you.understand
AWESOME!
Prof. Youngblood is an awesome professor. Taking his class made me switch my major to Economics. He is very good at making Economic principles easy to understand by corellating them with the real world.
Loved him, one of the best at RVC.
Mr Youngblood is one of my favorites. He is so good at lecturing about Econ that i really do like sitting there and listening to him talk. I see everything in the economy so different now just from one measly class! Great!
He is a great teacher; however his tests are tricky. During lecture is clear as a water, but his tests are a spider web. His test wording are confusing, and apparently I wasn't the only one who thought the same.Overall, he is a knowledgeable guy with tricky test questions. Your grades is based on tests and quizzes.
For the quizzes and tests in his class, he used material from the required textbook and an incredibly long textbook he's writing himself. A lot of the questions are pulled from extremely vague and random places from both texts.
You should have a very easy time with quizzes and tests if you read the material before every class
Prof. Youngblood knew his material, but seemed to be all over the place at times. Overall easy class and prof.
Great professor. I would highly suggest him
Professor Youngblood is a good teacher but I feel that his tests are confusing and do not reflect the material the way we learned it. It's like he gives you a concept, then immediately expects you to apply it to story problems. I wouldn't take his class again for this reason. Towards the end of the semester classes got more and more boring as well.
Make sure you attend all the classes if you miss a session you will feel lost. Read the book it helps with understand the material. Also, his quizzes and test are tricky.
Great teacher. He does his best to make the material interesting. If you aren't interested in economics, you probably won't be interested in the class. I am into econ, so I really enjoyed it. Don't miss class and don't be late, you'll miss points on in-class assignments. Those are also crucial to understanding the material. Very fair teacher.
He is a tough grader, and has trick questions on his tests and quizzes. There is an online quiz and test (for every chapter) that is not required, but some questions on his tests come straight from online.
Great teacher and super easy to talk to. Always helped me when I went into his office. Keeps the class interesting. His tests can be difficult but he lets you have a cheat sheet for every test. His questions can be confusing and you definitely need to read the book because he doesn't teach you everything you need to know for the test.
Pretty standard online class. I personally didn't actually watch all the lectures, but did read and do the homework. The tests were pretty hard because of that.
one my of favorites at RVC. has open discussion during class. respects his students. loves his job and it shows in his lectures. i took him for macro and made sure i had him for micro. lets you have a page of notes for exams, homework all online. awesome teacher.
The entire course is taken through MyEconLab. Very straightforward - homework, quizzes, tests. The entire semester is laid out for you in the beginning. You do need to keep up to ensure you don't fall behind.
All homework and quiz's are done through MyEconLab except for the exams over the past few chapters which are in class on a scantron. Homework has unlimited retries and quiz's have 2 tries. Downside is homework on a chapter is usually due before you even go over it in class so you essentially need to teach yourself time to time.
Pretty easy class, very helpful professor.
Professor Youngblood uses the learning objectives to make the tests. Most students never use them to study, but if you can answer all of the learning objectives you will ace every exam. Also, he lets you use a sheet of notes on every test so take advantage of the opportunity. He will notice if you show up to class and will round up your grade.
He clearly has a passion for economics and conveys that fact really well in his lectures, which makes for a great learning environment. I've taken him twice and I may even take him a third time.
Very passionate, he actually enjoys teaching economics. You can notice.
Youngblood has a clear passion for this topic which makes his lectures bearable. For me, economics is just a confusing subject in general, but he made it easy to understand. I highly suggest reading the book to understand the topics. He has learning objectives for every chapter and I would use his note handouts for the answers. Much help.
Youngblood is super cool. Loved the class and professor
I didn't really care for him or his class. I have no prior knowledge of economics and for that reason, i would never take his course again. He was never pacific whenever i asked him a question.
I took Micro Econ which I had no prior knowledge in. At first I struggled with the class, but if you are struggling ask!him!for!help! He truly cares about his students and loves economics (which he has had plenty of experience in). The HW isn't too bad, but study for the exams, read the book (or watch the videos at least) & his lectures are great!!
Youngblood is really good at explaining econ in a way that you can understand. Super helpful guy, great at what he does.
You can use notes on exams so there's no reason to not do well. Grading criteria is very clear and I received an A without retaining literally any information because we didn't need to learn anything. If you actually want to learn economics, take a harder professor. If you need an easy class for credit, take him.
I took this class online and its basically just alot of video homework assignments, economics itself is pretty confusing but the videos help understand it alot better, exams are open note which is nice. I didnt have the book but since the homework is all video assigned, i just take notes off those. Great professor and great class.
The entire course was "taught" on a different website with just a book and video lectures that weren't even his own. The entire class was basically taught by youtube videos and a textbook. He didn't post any information of his own the ENTIRE semester. He was paid to do nothing but submit grades from that website onto Eagle.
This professor utilizes great tools for online learning. There is reading but the videos were short and assignments were also based off the reading and videos. The videos made it fun to understand. Professor was also quick to respond to any emails. Very easy to approach.
