Really smart
Nice guy. Care about the students and is really understanding if you have a problem
A bit hard to understand at times. Can be very monotone and boring. Lecture theater class in Ritsche.
Very willing to explain and clarify. Auditorium class setting. no papers. !!!
Great knowlege of Russia since he is from there. He was helpful and understanding if you need help.
very nice guy, great professor with lots of knowledge about his country, also a good guitar player
mayup mayup mayup... misha misha wheres namrata!!!!!
The material is fairly easy. Prof. is well educated and student oriented. Overall, good class, good prof.
Very reasonable-allows you extra time to work on stuff. Hands back assignments fairly quickly so you can study off of them. Overall very knowledgeable and approachable.
good prof, but hard to understand at times
Fantastic lecturer, really enjoys what he does!
Very good information, nice prof. who knows his stuff.Everyone should take this class to learn more about the world! Sustainability should be a common word among more people!300 level but an intro class-upper credits are helpful for graduation.really is a fun class-take it now!
He knows his stuff. Very nice guy, check out his website, you will really get to know him. He is more than willing to help out students in his spare time.
Great class, great prof, great teacher as well as a nice guy. I would take him again in a second!
Went into the class with little knowlege. Learned a lot and didn't crack the book. Tests are easy if you go to class. (bonus points for attending class) A on every test and I reviewed his notes online and did his mapping exercises. A little work, but one of my easiest A's in college. GPA booster. :)
Good teacher! He's from Russia and will not let you forget it. Russia is good everyother country has something wrong. Good class, you do learn a lot.
He makes it interesting to learn about the different parts of the world, and really knows what he's talking about. The tests are pretty easy as long as you do the map exercises and review the notes.
Misha is awesome. Hes very experienced with what he teaches and uses humorous metaphors that help to remember things. He shows genuine interest in how his students are doing and is extremely helpful and easy to approach. I definitely suggest taking a class with him.
Mikhail has a lot of great ideas, but he also assigns a lot of homework and does not give much time to complete it.
Misha's so awesome...his accent is so funny but it's sweet. Tests aren't bad if you do the map excercises and take good notes and review them. The only thing that sucked about this class was that your grade was based only on multiple choice tests. The only opportunity for extra points we got was 10 for attendence.
Misha is really funny and keeps class interesting. Very good class, just show up and study for the tests and it's an A or B for sure.
Although I didn't do as well as hoped in this class Misha was a great professor. He does have a Russian Accent but is still easy to understand. He seems like a very nice man and is very approachable. And every once in awhile during a powerpoint he'll throw in a joke or two that aren't half bad.
Misha is an amazing, knowledgeable, funny, caring professor. I learned quite a bit in his class, even though I knew a bit about Russia before starting his class. He uses fun exercises and jokes which keep things interesting. The best lecturer (dispite his slight accent) I have ever had!
go to class cuz it raises ur grade...lectures are like so ADD! but u will luv him neways cuz he is really a nice guy...tests expect a B some of the questions are like wut where did that come from? and i studied!
I've taken 3 of Misha's classes. He is a very kind and caring professor. He's got some funny quirks in class. An example is that he will sometimes lecture with his eyes closed. The subject material can be a little boring, but he usually has quite a few classroom activities to maintain interest. His background in biology is very useful.
Go to class for sure! You need the attendance points. Tests have some tough questions, but easy to get B's on them for sure. I liked this professor alot more until I saw my final grade. He only gave out 3 A's in a class of 60 ...
He's very interested in what he teaches so it's fun to listen to him talk in class. Mostly just lecture and tests, really only one big paper at the end. Great teacher Provides some humor in class as well.
He is a great teacher and always willing to help you whenever you need it. His lectures are a little ADD but he means well. He has 3 tests and they are all M/C-easy if you go to class and take notes from his lectures. You also have a term paper, but you get to do it with another person. You also have 5 short assignments that are due every 2 weeks
Oh that beard, ha ha... I've taken classes with Blini a couple of times now and i deffiniatly recommend him. He's rediculously nice and gets excited about his work. He makes class fun with group exercises that aren't meant to be 100% serious. He's also very approachable and a lot of fun to be taught by. I plan on taking more classes taught by him.
SUPER BORING, the tests are really random questions. He might be a better teacher in a better class, but this one was just not interesting.
Very nice and you can tell he absolutely LOVES his job and that makes class easier to understand and sit through! Studying for his exams is a must. I had a project I was working on by myself and I asked him for help via email. He gave me two websites and also two professors' names I could contact. I recommend him to anyone!
Dr. Blinnikov is a great teacher, he loves the subject and is able to keep students interested throughout the hour and fifteen minutes, tests are fair, project isn't bad especially if you start early. Very understanding guy definetly take this course with him!
Misha is great! Cares about his students, very helpful, and he's got a sense of humor. The class is pretty easy as long as you pay attention and study for his tests.
He's a good teacher and he's smart. All you have to do is go to class and he does give you points for attendance but its not a huge part of your grade. Test are pretty easy and if you go to the class it wont be hard.
Very intelligent and nice person. Interesting class; however, rarely lets students speak even when we made oral presentation. Class is easy, maybe even too easy. Lectures were not too relevant to geography, which you would expect from a geography class, rather some kind of Russian Culture class...
Very smart man, and He's very nice as well. One easy presentation, he divides the class into four or five groups but you work solo on the country he selects for you in that unit, and you sit in front of the class on a desk with the other 12 memebers of that unit. Go to class and take nots because tests are decently hard for how easy the class is

He is a smart person but does not help if you have questions.he will say look in the syllibus or tell you to look in the book.it seems that everything he talk about he has to relate to his home country of Russia. i would not recomend taking this class, tests are hard he goes through the powerpoints fast and is hard to understand him with his accent
Very smart and very nice! Very interesting information! Use the study guide, read the book-test are kinda hard, but you will do fine if u read over materials. Gives you attendance points-one easy project-Highly recommend!
Professor Blinnikov is super nice! He has a sweet accent and easy to understand!Easy homework, semi-fair exams, the only homework you get are really easy maps, and you only have to do one country report which is super easy also! Overall easy A class! I loved it!
Very nice prof! The tests were kind of hard but the homeowork is easy. It wasn't what I was expecting, but I don't regret taking it.
Really nice teacher who is very helpful and passionate about what he is teaching.
He was a very good proffesor and wanted you to understand what he was teaching. I would advise on taking him!
Very passionate teacher. Extremely nice guy, class wasn't too difficult. On the occasion you had homework it didn't take more than an hour. Never needed the book, just read his study guides and you should be fine. Class could get boring because he just does slides and lectures but over all easy and you do learn some. I would recommend him.
Pretty easy class, no homework except for the maps and country report. Test are alright if you come to class everyday and listen to lectures. Great teacher, would recommend
Very helpful and nice teacher. Definitely would recommend his class. Always willing to help you, tests are pretty easy if you come to class. Brings in native people from some of the regions you learn about, really helps you actually see what it is like there.
Would definitely recommend this professor! He's one of the few that actually cares about his students, and that they are doing well. Wants everyone to understand and is very willing to talk to you. One of my favories!
Take this dude. he is such a BA teacher, his jokes are good if you get them. assignments are easy and hes a very lenient grader. same goes for exams. very interesting lectures and is a very enjoyable professeer!!
I despised this class. Lectures droned on and on and were very difficult to understand. The powerpoints were not helpful and the textbook was a pain to read. Mapping assignments were easy. I studied hard for every test and only got C's or low B's on all of them. I did not enjoy his teaching style but he's still a nice guy.
He is a great professor! If you have any questions he would be willing to sit down with you for an hour if need be. Very knowledgable! Didn't really use the textbook all that much but it was referred to and it would have help to actually read it.
Misha is great. He is very funny and his accent is not hard to understand. He does not have a lesson plan really so it is hard to really know what you are doing. It was an easy A and we never had homework. Our final was a one page writing paper on what we learned in the class.
He is a very good professor who cares a lot about his students. He cares a lot about what he teaches, and as long as you show up and pay attention you should be fine.
This professor is the best, I like his teaching style, enthusiasm, and knowledge. He is from Russia and this makes his class even more insightful. I look forward to taking more classes with him in the future if all possible.
Okay class, talks with his eyes closed. Easy assignment, attendance mandatory. Test somewhat hard.Do not rent the online version of the book. Good guy though.
He has been my favorite professor so far. He keeps his lectures interesting and gives all the resources needed to get an A. It will not just be handed to you though. If you read the text book and attend all the lectures it is not hard to get an A. There was only one written assignment. Most of your grade is based on test which occur every few chps.
Great Professor! Pretty easy class if of course you go to class and do the maps and country report. He puts his notes on D2L and basically if you read those and read through the chapters you're golden for the exams. He is also very understanding and helpful if you ask.
Great guy. Although he has an accent, you can still understand him well. He knows his stuff and is very helpful. Keeps up great with grades and he is a pretty easy grader as long as you follow directions. Great professor.
He is extremely knowledgeable about his subject and is a great teacher. He is lenient with deadlines and works with students who have problems. He is a funny professor and I would definitely recommend anyone who wants to take a geography class to take it with him!
Absolutely great professor. He is very educated on all the material and is great at teaching it. I learned a lot from this class and it is because Blinnikov is a great professor.
Fairly easy class if you go to class, take notes and do all the other assignments. Dr. Blinnikov was really helpful and offered study sessions and gave info on other events relating to class/geog. the tests are moderate.. study maps and notes and you are good!!
An amazing teacher. I took his class in Russia and it was an eye-opener. He is passionate about not only geography, but also learning and prompting students to be inquisitive. He cares about his students and wants them to succeed. Definitely take any class with this professor.
Dr. Blinnikov is by far one of my favorite professors. He is so kind and passionate. His class is pretty easy and he offers a lot of extra credit, too. I would say his class is an easy 'B' or 'C' - but you have to work a little for an A. He gives you everything you need to get an A though. He gives extensions and helps you anytime you need it!
He's the best
Blinnikov is a great professor. He made this class extremely entertaining, and it never got TOO hard. All in all, if you want to get a lot of goal areas done, and learn about the world around you, this is a great class to take.
Dr. Blinnikov is one of my favorite professors. He is always interesting with lectures, and works hard to make class engaging with students. He is understanding if you turn something in late, and posts all in-class notes on D2L. This class was great and we went over so many areas in the Russian region. He even tied in his own experiences, too!
Dr. Blinikov is a great professor. He is funny and the lectures are helpful and not boring. The class wasn't much of a challenge. There are a lot of extra credit opportunity. I definitely recommend this class!
Blinnikov comes up with great real-world examples to teach the info in class. He makes learning fun, and assigns enjoyable homework that is more hands-on than many classes. A few tests on D2L. He is writing a textbook for the class, so as of now you don't need to even buy one. Take this class! Not very demanding and satisfies goal areas!
This class is super easy as long as you do your homework! Don't expect to pass without doing homework.
GEOG 111 with Dr. B was awesome. Grading criteria is very clear. Very flexible and understanding when it comes to meeting student's needs. Go to class, participate and do your homework and you'll get the grade you want.
Easy if you do the work. D2L quizzes were pretty hard but everything else is easy and the lectures are ok to watch if you have the time. Don't bother with the book.
Interesting class but be ready to work! Lots of assignments. Dr. Blinnikov obviously is passionate about what he teaches and maybe goes a little overboard on all the assignments he requires. Nice professor.
This was one of the hardest classes I have ever taken! I am a 4.0 student and I worked my tail off in this class. Lots of lectures, activities, and online labs which were very difficult. The content was very hard, unless it is your major area, which for me it was not. It felt more like a 400 or 500 level class!
Fantastic professor that teaches a lot of unconventional knowledge.
Lots of quizzes that are on D2L, but you have two attempts and can use your notes/book so they aren't too difficult. There are 4 maps that you have to make which makes you feel like you're back in middle school. There are also map checks which were difficult. Lots of assignments and mastering geography. Stay on top of work and you'll be fine.
Mainly lectures and powerpoints but they are very interesting and im never bored in his class. He also shows videos and pictures from his travels and really makes you understand the world's culture. Theres 8 online quizzes and no tests. Maps assignments and "essays" once in awhile. 20 extra points for attendance and 30 for asking questions on D2L
Class consisted of 8 online quizzes, online homework, a presentation on an assigned country, and 6 map checks Extra credit for attendance and posting on D2L. Only need to do 65% of the online homework to get 100%, only thing you should do is study for the map checks, and skim the chapter to help with quizzes. Overall it's an easy, straightforward A
I wasn't too excited about taking this class in the first place, but this professor made it enjoyable. He gives good advice on the best vacation spots to travel to. I only used the textbook on quizzes.
The first quizzes are pretty hard, but the last few have a lot of quizlet questions and even it out. The rest of the grade is based on mastery online (super easy) and some labs (super easy, fake it until you make it). Definitely not a "no-brainer" course, but not bad if you put in the work. Also the prof really cares about what he teaches:)
My personal favorite college professor Ive had so far in my first two semesters. Really enjoyed his class and he was very lenient when it came to grading. Only thing Id warn is to pay attention in class otherwise you might not do hot in quizzes.
I really enjoyed this class. The workload was not bad at all. There were six quizzes throughout the semester and he would record lectures which you would take notes. The quizzes are timed. I also thought the quizzes weren't that hard if you payed attention to lectures. There is online mastering labs which are not hard and discussions.
Class consisted of 6 quizzes that was based off his power points and recorded lectures. So I did not need the textbook. There was also discussions and labs that was fairly easy to do. Overall he is a great teacher and it was an easy class.
His lectures are spewing textbook. Beware that you have to do activities on your own accord during the semester, and they are hard to find time for if you take a full course of classes and have a job or you are a busy person in general
American Wilderness class that took place as camping in the Boundary Waters. Great experience and I learned a lot about the Wilderness Act along with the regulations regarding the BWCA. This class tested me, some of the most difficult camping I have ever done, but I would strongly recommend this to those new or experienced.
Great down to earth prof who is passionate about his work. He is flexible and accommodating if you communicate with him. He wants you to be successful in his GEO classes. He does have a somewhat thick accent, so it can be difficult to understand him at times, especially if you are a zoom student. Overall great experience with this prof.
Excellent professor. He has an obvious passion for his field and teaches it well. Not a difficult class and not much work, but truly interesting and I felt like I actually learned something useful and important.
Tests were posted on Friday at 3pm and due on Monday at noon so make sure you set a reminder and don't have a busy weekends. We used Pearson for online assignments and he didn't tell us when we had new assignments or when they were due, they just appeared in Pearson. Overall wouldn't recommend the class but it wasn't terribly hard.
He is very knowledgeable and likes to share what he knows. He is easy to contact for help if you need it.
I've taken 2 of his classes (GEOG 272 and GEOG 253) The projects we did were fun and he's very understanding when things outside of your control happen so you struggle to keep up with work. In Geog 272 we had labs that required us to go outside to do them. They were by far some of my favorite projects. Overall a solid 10/10 professor.
Very easy class and not a lot of homework. Lecture heavy which will show up on exams. Homework due every two weeks, which wasn't hard or a lot to do. I recommend taking this class as it was fairly easy but interesting at the same time.
This was probably the easiest online class I have taken myself class. You can get extra credit, and his lectures are fun and easy to follow along with. As for the quizzes they are so easy just follow the lectures, discussion posts, and labs he assigns.
He's passionate and wants students to want to learn and his content is very interesting! Take his class and take the time to meet him in person.
He is absolutely amazing and so kind. I was going through family issues in 2024, and he was so understanding. My partner for the project also dropped out and I was insanely stressed out about it, and he made time to meet with me and help me find resources for my project. He was absolutely amazing and I would 100% take a class with him again.
