She is an amazing Professor! My absolutely favorite. I hope to be able to take another one of her classes. Because of her, I almost changed my major to Psychology! She does use the textbook a lot, and does not use any ppts. but does give out note outlines. Go over book and chapter before class. Very easy to get an A if you pay attention.

Dr. Kitchens is, hands down, the best professor I've ever had. She makes herself accessible to the students all the time, answers emails promptly, and genuinely cares about each and every student. This class is easy. There are a lot of online assignments due weekly and they are all busy work but for the most part she gives you credit if you just do them. the work is very time consuming:weekly online quizzes that take like an hour and a half, every week you have to watch a 10minute video, take a survey, or read something and respond to her questions. There are also a few projects that are 7+ pgs long but i think you automatically make an A on them if you hand it in& attendance is mandatory!

Easiest class you will ever take, don't need a notebook or anything as what she says in class has absolutely nothing to do with the insane amount of busy work she gives online. Homework you get an A simply for completion. Exams are open notes as long as you cover your camera you won't get flagged. Interesting lady but easy class.

This class made me want to become a Psych minor! I really enjoyed coming to her lectures even though it was not mandatory. She is very sweet and caring for her students and the exams were easy. The homework was a bit long but she gives you a lot of time to do each module. Overall, a great professor and I recommend taking her!!

I would never take a class with Dr. Kitchen again. Her lectures were uninteresting and had little to do with the information being tested on. All of the assignments were on McGraw Hill and took upwards of 7 hours to complete for a single assignment. I legitimately learned nothing from her class. By far the worst professor I have had at UofSC.

Any classes that Kitchen teachers is a waste of time. She will never teach you yourself, instead she depends on McGraw Hill assignments that are HOURS long to force us to teach ourselves. She doesn't even lecture in class, she just talks about herself. This class was an easy A, as long as you could tolerate the teacher.

Professor Kitchen is an AMAZING professor to take if you need a low-stress class. Her classes tend to be boring, you do small group discussions once a week, and grades all come from online assignments that take A LONG time to complete. But, all assignments and exams are open note online and you have over a month to complete each of the 3 units.

This was by far the easiest class I have ever taken. I love Dr. Miki, she is kind, relatable, and real. She really tests your understanding on social psychology and although coming to class isnt mandatory, she relates the information to real life scenarios. Overall if you want an easy A, a cool professor, and not so hard work take Dr. Miki!!!!

Miki Kitchen is the most amazing professor I've ever had. She just wants everyone to participate. We had group discussions every Thursday that you have to write out, which was easy if you pay attention and read. That's the only "homework" we have. I wouldn't say she's an easy grader, but if you put effort into your work you'll get an A.

While a textbook is suggested for this class, she does not teach based on it. She teaches based on her experiences as a therapist which was super interesting and always wants class involvement. Every week you do a round table, and discuss it with the others in your group. No final exam and only long test where you can redo questions until correct,

I absolutely adored Professor Kitchen and am unsure why these reviews are so bad. This class was super easy, your only work is connect (which you have over a month to finish), and roundtables which are short response questions that you share amongst a small group every Thursday. I love her and would take this class a thousand times again. TAKE HER!

Loved this class!!! She is such a fun teacher and allows you to meet new people and gain social skills through the roundtables. Such an interesting class which teaches you things that you can use in any social setting. It is also an easy A class, as all exams and most assignments were through McGraw hill connect.

I don't get the bad reviews, I loved her ! Her lectures which were super interesting because she talked about her experiences as a therapist. Attendance is mandatory. The homework assignments are long but she gives you so much time to get them done so it's not a big deal. There's no final which is nice. She was just overall a really good Prof.

I adore Dr. Kitchen. Her lectures are engaging & interesting. She's a practicing counselor so her experiences directly apply to the material. She truly cares about her students. She does weekly small group discussions that are actually really enjoyable. Only 3 exams, and all are open note & online. I would take her for every psych class if I could.

Dr. Kitchen is among my favorite professors at USC. She is devoted to her work and ensures a safe, comfortable learning environment for her students. This class was beneficial for my pursuit of a counseling career as she gave us first-hand accounts of clients and gave us the chance to navigate the cases. 10000/10!

Dr. MiKi is not a good professor. She does not use her lectures to teach but instead spends the time talking of herself. She shares stories of her case studies where she appears as the best psychologist the patient has ever had. She is a narcissist and believes everyone else to be. I would not take the class if you are interested in learning psych.

Exams are all open note. Low maintenance class that is completely self-paced. My schedule was always packed so this class was perfect for me and my psych minor.

I'm confused at all of these negative reviews! I had Dr. Miki last semester and I found her lectures fascinating, our weekly discussions to be engaging, and I especially found Dr. Miki extremely kind. You will have group projects and long online exams (open for weeks before they're due), but I loved the perspective she had as a therapist herself.

Dr. MiKi was very nice and is passionate about psychology. However, the structure of her class is hard to follow and did not help me learn much. Her lectures were not super relevant, and half of the class was spent writing weekly essays and discussing them in small groups. The groups were fun and exams are open book, but overall I didn't learn.

This class was hybrid and was discussion based and then online lectures. This was kinda hard for me because online lectures with no powerpoints are hard to follow but the textbook was helpful. Group disc was every week so majority of your grade is participating in that and then online tests and she doesn't care if you use the internet etc.
