He is really nice and down to earth. He doesn't give a lot of homework assignments and his class is very interactive.
Awesome Teacher really cares about his students.. funny! Loved going to his class, good times!
Miles was a great teacher. The class was easy as long as you took time to prepare a speech. I was scared to death before taking the class and I thought I would fail. Turns out I got an A+ on everything. I would really reccommend Miles, he's very nice and smart.
I loved this class, so much. Everytime that I thought I did bad on a speech, turns out I got an A. Just be sure you go to class and you do fine.

I can't say anything bad about Miles. But I wouldn't take him again. I've had him for two classes, and for both of them we pretty much just sat around and talked. Listening to Communication Majors spout off their opinions and pretend to discuss them productively is not a vital part of my education. His classes are extremely easy and it is unfortunate that this will boost his rating. Where is the catagory for learning? He only uses textbooks superficially with immature quizzes.
I hate to speak in public. But he made it fun and easy. If you show up to class and dont be a complete slacker. You'll get an A for sure!
I had Miles my first semester of my freshman year. i basicly took it because i didnt know what to take. i wasnt the best public speaker (the class i took with him was public speaking) but he made it fun and easy and i learned alot. I got an A in the class. just show up and do what he says, you will get a good grade.
No one wants to take the IDS classes, especially Civic Engagement, and Miles gets that. He really encouraged everyone to talk about why we have IDS and why we do and don't like it as a way to understand it. He picked intersting readings, and if you like discussing issues in class, it's a great one. He's passionate about teaching and a great guy!
Manicini makes class fun and involves everyone. Opinions from the class make up discussions and help everyone to learn from each other.
he makes public speaking a lot less painful than it could be, using projects and props for speeches. also gives lots of extra credit to be used towards opting out of certain speeches.
made public speaking a lot easier than i was expecting, actually had some good times in his class. would take him again.
Mancini was a great teacher and I would reccomend him to anyone that has to take public speaking. He makes class fun and really helps you to bond with your classmates so you dont feel as nervous when you go up to give your speeches. He is a great teacher and a great guy.
hes basically like the best public speaking teacher possible
I LOVED THIS CLASS. professor mancini is pretty much the best public speaking teacher of all time. he very rarely uses the textbook because he believes in learning from actual experience. fun and creative group projects, excellent feedback on speeches, and a just overall AMAZING and fun class.
A cool prof. He's real nice and pretty funny. The class is pretty easy, too. As long as you show up and participate, you can get get a good grade in his class.
had the class at 8 in morning and it was horrifying trying to stay awake. but professor is helpful and a fair grader, if you attempt your speeches you wont fail
One of the most amazing teachers ever! He was my first teacher for a college class. He's really layed back talks about life. I had him at 8 AM which was a **** but he understands!!
A great teacher! must have!
He is a great teacher! He makes you feel at ease when you speak and does not put much pressure on you at all. perfect teacher for this class... plus, he isn't to bad to look at either!!
Took for Argumentation & Debate. Probably the coolest prof I've had in a while. Pretty laid back, makes the material pretty interesting and takes the class's interests into consideration when making assignments.
very easy class. show up and speak in front and you will not fail. barely touch the book.
Mancini was an awesome professor! His class wasn't all that easy, you had to work hard on all of your speeches(and there are quite a few) but he does whatever he can to help and if you work hard you can get a good grade. His class was actually fun towards the end of the semester. He takes attendance everyday and it hurts you if you don't show up!!
I got am A grade in the class but i missed a couple classes because i had it at 8 am, not a good idea.. umm kinda easy.. but sometimes time consuming =) but i learned alot! do recommend
Professor Mancini was great. When i started my public speaking class i was so afraid to get up in fron of people but he found ways to make it fun. The speeches were hard to do. He takes off alot for attendance which is why i got a B so make sure to go to evry class and complete every assignment. He really is an easy teacher i would reccomend him.
Takeee Him... He is really cool and nice and understanding!!! Good professor for people who are scared of public speaking. You'll leave his class confident in speaking!!!!
Take it, his class is great. I wasn't looking forward to an 8am class, but I really enjoyed his class. He has guest speakers come in and teaches using things like the Daily Show clips. 3 Exams that are simple along with two short essays (one page). It was fast and painless!
The only purpose to attend lecture is to get your attendance grade. But if you remain in class his lectures are not boring, he shows alot of example on youtube and has guest speakers. Hes really a good professor. He has a few homeworks, like two. & there are exams but they are multichoice too. I wish I didn't buy the book you only need to know voca
"The Mancini" as he calls himself conducts a very entertaining class!! It is very entertaining and worth getting up early for (coming from someone who does not take classes before noon). He shows tons of youtube videos to help with the lesson and always has interesting guest speakers! It is an EASY A, just make sure to go to class! TAKE IT!!
This guy is awesome. Not only does he try and entertain you from time to time but he has his own introduction video too. His tests and quizs ain't bad and you can get an easy A if you study for them and pay attention in class. Take the class for on of your prerequisites.
Mancini is a great teacher. Gives you all the information you need in order to do well on the tests. Lectures are not boring, throws in alot of little clips. Tries to get many guest speakers. Highly recommend
great teacher =] i had him for public speaking and he makes you feel completely comfortable and i would definitely recomend him!
The Mancini is the best
Awesome teacher. easiest class I've taken so far. go over the vocab words before the test and you'll get an A.
I didn't dread his class as much as I thought I would. He does a great job getting guest speakers and was very entertaining! (sometimes a little cheesy..but he means well) He's a great teacher- definitly take his class!
He is an AWESOME teacher!! He is probably the best teacher at FGCU. He makes learning fun specially at 8 in the morning. His test are easy if you do the review. Attendance is mandatory but trust me you wont want to miss his class! Everything you learn he always refers it to everyday life. Wish there were more professors out their like him!!!!!
He is an amazing teacher!! At the end of the semester you're gonna want to have him as a teacher again!!!
Amazing Teacher.. read the textbook and come to class and you are guaranteed at least an 85 in the class...
Great Teacher. He is very funny and interesting.
extremely hot and his class is fun!!
Is a wonderful teacher. If only he looked like Jon Braddy...
Professor Mancini is a wonderful professor with fabulous hair! Now if only his wife would let him wear more fish Tshirts and sandals like mine.
Professor Mancini is an awesome professor. If he were a mythical creature, he'd be a centaur.
He is a great teacher! Easy and very understandable! Makes public speaking actually fun.
He does a bunch of weird things in class, but you'll always leave class laughing. He shows a lot of videos to teach, which is really helpful. His tests are easy and as long as you do the study guides, you'll get an A. Can't wait to take more of his classes!
The Mancini is without a doubt a standout professor. he makes any subject interesting and his classes are always fun. i took his comm class and attendance is mandatory, if you miss a class you get 15 points off. he makes up for that with a lot of extra credit I would recommend his class to anyone he's an awesome teacher and i actually learned a lot
Super easy class, tests and quizzes are definitions from the book along with some examples of clips and movies we see in class. The Mancini wants you to do well. Just do the study guides and come to class. Attendance is mandatory and if you dont come its 15 points off but there's a ton of extra credit available.
Amazing teacher. Class at 8 AM isnt that bad when he is teaching. we watch movies and youtube videos and overall content is understandable. complete study guides and DEFF attend the class before the quiz's because he will review pretty much everything you will need to know
I had him for Fundamentals of Comm. early in the morning. Wow! I don't think I was as eager to wake up in the morning to get to class when I knew the Mancini was teaching. He acts all tough in the first few classes, but he is all talk, he is a good guy!
He is a pretty awesome teacher. His class is very easy and mostly common sense. If you review the definitions the night before the tests you will do fine. I didnt mind waking up for his 8 o'clock class cause he wasn't boring.
Supa hot
Easy class. I don't pay attention, but study the study guides for class and pass. Do all work, and do attend class.
BEST CLASS EVER. EASIEST CLASS EVER. SO.MUCH.FUN.
This class was awesome. Except for when he revealed that he isn't really narcissisitc and he doesn't usually make everyone call him The Mancini. It was like finding out Santa isn't real all over again. </3
Even though it sucks that this class was at 8am, Mancini always kept it interesting and fun. You have one paper and mostly need to memorize vocab for the exams. You're supposed to read the book for homework, but as long as you show up and stay awake there is no need to read. Its an easy A.
AMAZING PROFESSOR!!! I thought an 8am class was going to be horrible, but I am actually excited to wake up and go to his Fundamentals of Communications class. He is so funny & the class is easy if you show up and do well on the tests (which are mostly vocab). He offers a ton of exra credit, I have a 200% in the class because of all the extra credit
This calss was at 8am and it was great! I know it was at 8 am but professor Mancini made it worth while. All of is guest spearkers that came are amazing and really fun. The TA's are really great as well.. all in all good class and easy to get a good great with all the extra points he gives out. Loved this class!
He is the hardest working man in the ed-biz. Ignore the title, take any class from him.
Love him!Great personality and 50% of his classes are guest speakers who are awesome and fun to listen to. Talks about the fam a lot but he has funny stories. Loved this for an 8am
Awesome professor! Very clear about expectations and a lenient grader. Extra credit options are always available! Just a heads up, if you take him in the Spring, you are required to partake in Community Engagement Day.
TAKE THIS CLASS. Study guides that are the exact exams Attendance = mandatory. Fun class, fun assignments. He's a great teacher. Im a COMM. major bc of him. Every class available that he's teaching, I'm going to take now. Easy A if you do the study guides and show up everyday. LOTS OF EXTRA CRED Hes strict w the syllabus & wont make any exceptions.
Professor Mancini is an AMAZING professor . I absolutely highly recommend taking him for public speaking. He is willing to help and work with you on your speaking. I plan to take him again for Theories of Human Communication
took him for fundamentals of com. thought taking a 8am class was a dumb mistake but mancini made it a lot of fun. really nice, cool and funny guy. if you go to class every day and do well on exams youll get at least a B. tests are easy if you study the review which is just vocab words. highly recommended!!
Dr. Mancini is truly an outstanding professor. I feel that I have learned so much from his classes I have taken with him and would highly recommend this professor.
Super nice, super laid-back guy - I had him for an 8AM class and he was very understanding of the fact that it was early and people weren't awake. His class is engaging (no pun intended). a great professor to have. I only wish there weren't a group project component - I hate working in groups. He doesn't let other people affect YOUR grade, though.
Just take him, no matter what class, what time, what major you are, just take him. You won't regret it.
Really tough on attendance. Every class you miss is 15% off your ATTENDANCE grade, not your FINAL grade contrary to what he tells you at the start of the course. 5 absences= 0 in the class. His stories get kind of annoying. Babbles the entire class. Didn't learn much, glided my way through the class, never studied, and got a C. Pretty easy class.
Ended up with a C+ in his class, didn't learn much but he's an awesome professor ! Love his TA's. The class was fun but it wasn't my interest, hence my grade. Would def recommend and offers a lot of extra credit.
GREAT TEACHER! He is a great speaker. It's a big class but he makes in interesting. If you show up to class and read the book then you'll get an A. Plus he gives a ton of extra credit. This is a must take.
Hearing his stories about his kids and wife sucked. Not because they were bad stories, but because they were a constant reminder that he's taken.
I would recommend Mancini to anyone. Great guy, tries to keep class interesting. Attendance is MANDATORY so if you know you can't wake up don't even bother you will fail. Overall easy class, just show up and take notes and you'll be fine.
Great teacher with an awesome personality. He knows his stuff, definitely taking him for another class. Attendance is mandatory which screwed me over in the end but if you take notes you're good to go.
AWESOME professor! He makes 8am lecture worth getting up for! He's hilarious, and his stories about his wife and kids are so funny sometimes I start crying from laughing so hard! Gives lots of extra credit and attendance is mandatory! Definitely taking his philosophy class next semester! 347,556,826% would recommend!
Definitely worth getting up for an 8am! Hands down, take his class!
The exams are not easy but they are not that hard either. Exercise caution, because even though it is considered an easy A elective there is a lot of work to be done. There is also a lot of extra credit available and trust me you will need it. Grade are based on a point system.
This class is not only an Easy A but also very interesting! I have to wake up at 8am during summer and his class makes it completely worth it! He makes modern world relations to the text and also seem interested in what you have to say. As long as you do the work you'll get an A! And offers a lot of Extra Credit!
He's a good teacher, good public speaker, clear, amicable. At first I wasn't into the personal anecdotes but then I started to realize that's the best way to present the material. Victoria was hot.
Great class. Come to class prepared and pay attention. He has great energy and always willing to help you.
What can I say? Mancini is the man. Great prof. and knows his stuff. Keeps class fun but expects a high level of performance. Not an "easy A" but you can earn one if you stay on task and do what is expected.
Great, great, great professor. One of the best at FGCU, definitely a must take professor before graduation. Easy class, a lot of fun, Brought the entire class together as friends.
Makes you want to learn the subject. Very helpful. My favorite professor ever. Take him. You will get a good grade. You will love him. You will be eager to come back to this site and give him good feedback. Do it.
Professor Mancini was a great professor. Would gladly take him again. However, I do wish he had more activities to engage the class.
You learn so much about yourself in this course and it's all thanks to Mancini. Mancini uses a variety of activities to really make you realize what kind of group member you are. He's also very open when it comes to talking about your group project. Some really cool games to build team morale too. It was a very interesting take on the class.
This is the class that most Comm. majors dread taking, but he made the class easy to get. He made sure that you understood the basics before taking it a bit further and making you think. He uses a variety of media to help you understand the dense material. He also focuses on group projects and works with you to make sure you have a good experience.
I never really found Civic Engagement interesting, but after this class, I really had a newfound appreciation and interest in the subject. The Mancini staple of group work was in full force for this course, but you were allowed to pick your own groups and you most likely ended up with people who were passionate about the same thing. Great professor
This class is what made me decide to become a Comm. major and it was all thanks to the professor. Bringing in Comm faculty to guest lecture on their specialties was inspiring. Using personal stories to connect to the course material was effective. And the games and activities he had us do were engaging. One of my favorite classes.
Mancini is awesome. Attendance is mandatory but he will make you happy you took him, especially at 8am. Theres group projects but you're with the same group all 4 times. LOTS of extra credit. Read and go to class, easy A. Best teacher yet.
Seriously, best lectures ever. I am a Comm major so I'm a little biased, but Mancini always keeps the material interesting and he's hilarious. The tests are hard, but there are plenty of extra credit opportunities so take them and you'll be fine. I don't study quite as much as I should and still earned a high A. He's the best.
Mancini knows his stuff and makes class enjoyable! Really great guy too! Attendance is strict though , especially if you are in his larger classes. He offers a lot of extra credit so take advantage of it ! If you want to do really well on the exams you need to read the chapters.
This class may seem like an "easy A" but you have to put in some effort in order to earn your A. The class is very group oriented and if you're stuck with a bad group it will lead to a poor grade. Fortunately for me, my group has been pretty great, but I'm stuck in the B+ range. No textbook, but reading is required in order to complete papers
8am classes are never fun, but Mancini makes his quite enjoyable. Always talks about his family life and applies personal life stories to concepts being discussed in class. Attendance is mandatory, but if you miss a class or two, take advantage of the many extra credit opportunities made available, and you'll be okay.
Mancini makes an 8AM class really worth getting up in the morning for. If you miss five classes, you fail the course and each missed class is a lot of points lost. There is a LOT of extra credit to do. His PowerPoints are done for him to remember the order of his lecture, so you have to read the book for all of the information.
One of the best professors at FGCU! Makes coming to class and learning very enjoyable. He gives plenty of extra credit opportunities and is very clear on what is expected and when. TAKE HIM!!!
If you're taking a communications class take it with Mancini if at all possible. He is passionate about what he is teaching which is what got me invested in the class. He's an amazing professor.
Two words: EXTRA CREDIT. This guy is the best. I had him over the summer and he made an 8am class actually bearable. He knows what he is talking about and is a very passionate teacher. I would take any other classes he ever teaches. Such a nice family man who understand when there is a problem in your life as well. Show up to class and listen an A
Go to class and you will get an A. Tests are really easy and he gives a crap load of extra credit. Loved his class because it was fun and we got to watch a lot of video clips and movies! I ended up with a B because i skipped class once.
Great professor, always really interesting lectures. He really vibes with the students. Assignments are detailed but relatively easy. A ton of extra credit. I would deffanitly take him again.( It doesnt hurt that hes hot either.)
ENTERTAINING PROFESSOR for an 8 AM class who made it interesting & fun. You WANT to come to class, learn & listen. Keeps you engaged, uses video clips to coincide w/what he teaches in chapters. Show up! Power Point presentations help you REMEMBER what he is teaching. Extra credit if you want it; it only helps your grade. No brainer. Great teacher!
AMAZING PROFESSOR! Would definatley recommend taking his class! He teaches the material very well and makes and 8 am very enjoyable. Very understanding and will work with you through any issues. Only negative thing about this class is the group projects!
NO. Just don't do it. Take another professor, yes he gives extra credit and shows videos but his class is dry, he is not funny, he tries to be interactive and it does not work. Group projects are what this class is all about, those are not fun. unless you like group work and want to have other people grade you don't want to take this class
Professor Mancini is awesome! Lectures are entertaining with lots of funny videos. He gives A TON of extra credit!! Tests were pretty easy. There is group work but its nothing too difficult. If it wasn't so early I probably would have enjoyed it more but its a bearable 8am. Would highly recommend this class.
I think that he is a somewhat funny guy, he reminds me of a who from horton hears a who. gives ALOT of extra credit which is great, tests are extremely hard and he does not go over what you read in the textbook which can be frustrating. The whole class is based upon his communication cafes which are due almost every week, then theres a quiz.
There are 3 exams, discussion posts for the first six weeks of class, and group projects. If you actually pay attention in the lectures and read the textbook for the exams, you will do fine. The extra-credit will help with any missing grades.
BEST CLASS EVER!!!! This professor and the three others were extremely amazing. They all worked hard to put together a great class that was interesting, hilarious, and very insightful. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!
Professor Mancini is energetic and made this class a class to look forward to going to. The class is made up of two main parts, lecture and group activities. "Comm squads" bring classmates together through group projects/presentations and face offs (trivia game). He offers extra credit which makes it impossible to fail. I would highly recommend
Such a fun & great teacher. For it being an 8am class, he made coming to class no problem. I loved that he put everything we had to learn into relatable terms and used examples we'd find funny (i.e. Amy Schumer). He does give LOTS of extra credit, which really helped my grade, but he requires the use of groups for our class work. Don't miss class!!
Easily my favorite professor I've had at FGCU thus far. Super cool and laid back guy and he brings a calm learning environment to the classroom. Tests are easy, gives some extra credit, and class is actually enjoyable to attend. His voice is easy to listen to and really wants everyone to pass. Class is VERY mandatory though so don't skip!!!!
I've had Mancini multiple times now. His classes are all 8am which is not fun. Tries to make class as enjoyable as possible by using relevant material i.e. movies, Amy Schumer, Luis CK, ect. The class is easy and only has three 200 point tests. EVERY other assignment is group work. I got a B but don't be fooled, you must study or tests aren't easy.
Mancini was a great professor and I enjoyed being in his class. He knows his stuff, but sometimes does not know when to stop talking: I knew too much about his family LOL. He provides quite a few extra credit activities and if I remember correctly there are three-four group projects. Just play attention to his lectures and skim the book. Easy A!
Best teacher Ive ever encountered, he's so funny and so relatable!
Love Professor Mancini!!!!! Sometimes I wish I was a communication major just so I could keep taking his classes. His lectures include lots of real life examples (like his family) and help me remember the material on the tests. He gives tons of extra credit and makes the class fun and easy. RECOMMEND TO ALL AT LEAST ONCE AT FGCU!!
Mancini is great! I took this class over the summer and it was an easy A! He makes class enjoyable and incorporates real life example into his lectures. This class is very group oriented and there are many extra credit opportunities.
Professor Mancini is one of my favorite professors. I attended his fundamentals of communication class on Friday which was a 3 hour class. I was almost never bored and he gives you a break generally halfway through class. hes very funny and its an easy A.
Professor Mancini is the most well-spoken and carried professor that I had taken at FGCU. He really knows how to lecture concepts to the class. He offers a lot of extra credit opportunities. There are only four outside projects. Exams are relatively easy if you read the textbook, which is a must! Overall a fun and easy course to take!
For a 3 hour Friday class, Mancini made it very enjoyable. Grades are based on 4 tests (including the final), 3 group projects, student feedback, and lots of extra credit. Make sure you get a good group or else it will reflect on your grade. Mancini was a hilarious professor who made all his lectures easy and fun to understand.
Mancini is by far the best professor at fgcu. His goes strictly by the syllabus. if you just read the textbook, listen in class and ask question there is no way you can fail plus he give ssoooo much extra credit. you can tell he loves what he does
Super cool guy the class is long but his humorous examples and organization of the class makes time go fast. 3 group projects and a class wide jeopardy like game in that you compete in with your group.
Awesome Professor! Definitely recommend
Funny guy. Very laid back. Easy A.
If you take this class with Mancini, beware of group projects. There are three of them and they are pretty long. He takes off points if you miss class, but he offers a lot of extra credit throughout the semester. Great guy and his lectures do align with what is covered on the exam. Easy A if you work hard and show up to class.
Mancini is a great professor. He teaches a lot of different classes at FGCU, but he manages to bring his flare and enthusiasm to each one of them. Sometimes, just because a prof is good for teaching one class, that doesn't mean they're good for teaching another. This ISNT the case for Mancini. I plan on taking him again.
Professor Mancini was one of the best Professors I ever had. I took him in Fall 2017 and he is hilarious and his lectures are so good and keep you intrigued in the topic. Although class consists of mostly lectures, he keeps you entertained. As long as you show up to class and read the textbook, you'll get an A
Professor Mancini is an excellent educator. He does require punctual attendance and is a harsh grader, but he is a genuine person who really cares about what the students have to say. His Civic Engagement course requires a lot of work inside and outside of the class, so prepare to work hard. If you have to take this class, take it with Mancini.
This whole class is group projects. super funny guy too. basically if you show up to this class you'll get an A. highly recommend taking this professor.
He is an amazing professor and is really easy to get a hold of. If you needed anything you could go to him. He does give extra credit for the class and there were multiple opportunities to raise your grade.
Mr. Mancini is a funny professor who brings out-of-the-box ideas for assignments and even though group projects aren't everyone's favorite, he gave us really cool experiments to do almost every week. Go to class, ask questions, and review the chapters and it's an easy A. Just participate and put a little into studying and the tests are not hard.
He is one of the best professors I ever had. Though you will need to read and be at every class (he allows you to miss 2, but if you miss more you will fail), his class &readings are fun. If you pay attention, you will do well &he is hilarious r chill. The class is almost all group projects, but they are fun and you do get to pick your group
His class meetings are fun, he is a very chill Profesor and easy to get a hold of. He is also very helpful and caring, one of the best Profesor at FGCU.
The entire semester is basically a group project but Mancini is one of those professors that will take points off of someone's grade if he is told (with proof) they aren't participating. The hardest part of the class was the final film project but it is not a large percentage of the overall grade so don't stress too much. I really enjoyed the class
I've taken Professor Mancini for Fundamentals & his tv class and both were absolutely amazing. I would love to take him again. As long as you show up and put in a little effort you should be fine. If you do not show up (excuse or not) he will deduct 25 points from your grade, but that is because the class only met once a week. I ended with an A!
Professor Mancini was a great professor for humanities and he was super excited to teach about the zombie apocalypse. Very interesting and interactive class with a lot of group work. You must go to class to pass and he is a little specific when grading but he has a great personality and is easy to talk to. Do your work and this class will be fun.
Really enjoy his class. Favorite professor so far, definitely recommend taking him!
Great teacher, is very helpful, an easy A if you show up to class.
Absolutely loved him! He shows that he truly cares about his students and the content that he is teaching. Makes the class interesting. There wasnt much homework, and every assignment was really easy. Its not hard to get an A in this class. Looking forward to taking him again.
Mancini is truly one of the best professors I've ever had. Super into his job and has a passion for his students. Was willing to work with me when one of my group members and I had difficulty in communication and helped us to overcome our issues. Would take again!
I have had Professor Mancini as a professor twice now, and would take his class again if I could. Super helpful and funny, makes class interesting and engaging. Lot of group work.
Prof. Mancini is one of the best profs I've had at FGCU. Kind and thoughtful. It's obvious that he actually cares about you learning the material. Wants his students to succeed so extra credit is ample. Try not to skip (no reason to when Mancini is lecturing, though). A truly awesome person all around. Love him. You will too.
this is one of the best professors I have ever had. he is very thoughtful and the lectures are very interesting to watch. when I was signed up to take Humanities I was a little bummed until I actually was introduced to the class because he makes this class interesting and exciting. I love all the work we do and he truly cares about his students.
Omg he is the best he is funny and makes class fun and interactive. I am taking him again next sem!!
Great professor, currently taking him and his class is very easy if you show up and do your assignments. The first 8 weeks of class is basically group work and the other half is film based. Very good class, not boring at all. It also helps that he is very caring and you can definitely tell that he loves his job.
Very enthusiastic professor when it comes to topics he loves such as film and music!
He teamed with Prof Wilson for this course. Easy grader. Class has fair amount of reading. Extra credit given. Class was every other Friday. Group work HEAVY, you have to do these "couch conversations" where you film yourself and your group discussing the readings and topics. Easy class, do the work right and you will pass no problem.
I dropped this class because it was zombie themed, very competitive, and had an insane amount of group work. I know my opinion isn't totally valid since I dropped the course. I found him incredibly pretentious, arrogant, annoying, and he said a lot of stuff for shock value just to seem cool and relatable.
The apocalypse class is extremely easy you just have to show up once a week for 3 hours for some it was a great time to catch up on sleep. The only "hard" part of the class was 4 400 word essays that are actually really easy if you pay a little bit of attention and they are really spread out on due dates.
Professor Mancini was amazing for Civic Engagement. I was so nervous to take this class and to complete a service project, especially with it being fully online. He was very helpful, answers quickly, and has great resources to guide you in your project. I was taking this during the hurricane and he was very understanding. Definitely recommend!
I enjoyed having Prof. Mancini for HUM1020 online! He is a really cool, nice guy and gives really clear directions on assignments and what needs to be done to succeed. As long as you follow the directions for the assignments, get things in on time, and get on the zooms, it is really easy to get an A in this class! 10/10 would recommend!
Attendance was mandatory, but if you show up and do the work its not hard to do well, there are also a bunch of extra credit opportunities. In the class there is also a lot of group work involved.
First half of the semester was a group roleplay, where assignments consisted of answering fantasy questions from a real-world perspective (militarism, naturalism, etc.). Second half was all watching zombie movies in class and taking quizzes on them online. Assignments are straightforward and fun. Best class I've taken at this school so far. 11/10
okay I took hum 1020 the apocalypse and it probably was my least favorite class by far. In my class the first half was all debates with your assigned group and telo, which automatically sucks if you have terrible group mates or ones who refuse to participate. Attendance is a grade. Along with HARSHLY graded assignments debating on who grade ur work
Professor Mancini is an awesome guy and a great teacher. I had him for the zombie apocalypse class and the in-class work is really easy. all you do is show up and participate. There is a film you have to make outside of class which is somewhat hard because its a group project but he is a solid grader. He gives a ton of extra credit that is helpful.
Professor Mancini provides a fun and engaging learning environment. There are weekly debates that encourage critical thinking and collaboration. It it very entertaining while you learn. Take this course, you won't regret it.
He's an ok professor, nothing amazing, but also nothing terrible to say. Biggest critique I have is that he gives an insane amount of what feels like busy work. It's all super repetitive and tedious. Honestly, if you can take it with a different professor, do it. If you're stuck with him, you'll be fine but just be prepared for lots of assignments.
Honestly, he's not horrible, but he can be very annoying. He takes this class very seriously and it's a humanities, he takes as serious as a math or a science class. If you're like me and don't like that don't take his class.
Prof. Mancini is no question my favorite professor ever. Caring, understanding, really tries to get to know students. Hilarious & down to earth. I was anxious for this class because it was centered on zombies, but it quickly became the class I looked forward to most. Easy assignments, lot of group work. Please do yourself a favor & take this class.
I took this class because I have always heard good things about it, and they were right! Mancini is super fun and it helps because he really loves teaching this class. The group work is not bad and I actually look forward to the debates because I love to argue, so if that is something you like take this class.
Mancini is a great professor. I took his Zombie Apocalypse class. Classes are fun and surprisingly informative. It is one of the only classes where I didn't mind doing the homework. I have made some great friends while working on the group projects as well.
The only reason I wouldn't take again is bc I just don't like science fiction. Very easy class that brings out the kid in you though. If you like science fiction take this class. If you don't like science fiction but want an easy A, take this class. Only thing is you have to make a 6-10 min apocalyptic film so just hope you have good film members.
He is super funny and I really looked forward to showing up to his class every day.
Such an amazing professor. I took this class at 8 am with both Wilson and Mancini and loved every second of it. Wilson and Mancini lectured through the use of Podcast. work was not too complicated and lots of extra credit was offered.
Professor Mancini's HUM1020 class is a fun, engaging ride. The zombie apocalypse theme makes the lectures surprisingly informative. With unstuck AI and group projects, acing this easy A is a breeze.
so much EC its crazy. an A is 698 points but there are 1000 points possible to get in class. 250 points are from extra credit assignments. Assignments are simple and straightforward, If you do 1-2 hrs of work a week you will get an A in class. If you do the assignments and extra credit you could skip the last few assignments and get an A. Take Him!
I loved this class, I thought I would hate it because it was a weird zombie class but I loved it. It is the easiest class you can take, there is built in extra credit and the required assignments are simple.
im literally in week 2 of this course. do not take his foundations of civic engagement. having to write a paper on what association is????? its like stupid busy work at this point.I cant make an entire paper over one word.
Wonderful professor. He really cares, his lectures are fun and engaging, and the shows you watch in the class are awesome. If you read the syllabus and look in Canvas, you will not ever be surprised. He doesn't hide anything and he's very open to communication if you have any questions, just email him.
Proffesor Mancini has clear rubrics for all of his assignments easy to follow. There are a few discussions and quizzes based on some of the readings. Overall most of the points come from the group projects and major essays. If you participate and put in a general effort this class is easy.
Not your traditional class. You work with your group for the whole semester for debates and then a movie at the end. Gives plenty of extra credit opportunities so there is no reason your grade should fall below an A. I would highly recommend taking this class and professor.
A super fun class; I thought it was going to be weird at first, but it turned out to be cool. There's a lot of group work, but he hands out extra credit like it's candy. Take mancini you wont regret it
He is ok, a lot of extra opportunities. The problem is most of it is busy work, just make sure u get the books u will not pass with out them. Aloe of group projects that are useless. U did need somewhat of a project is pass but nothing major. He is not a terrible grader either overall and ok but useless class
