Great class

Great professor. I did have him online, but I 100% would take again in person. Not much homework just reading before every class with a quiz, DEAL writing assignment and essay for each unit which is a couple chapters. Good at keeping the class interesting.

The tests and quizzes come from the PowerPoint. The textbook is free. He is accessible and responsive. Vey caring and understanding.

Prof. Marsala is very good at teaching and good with online technology. He kept Zoom classes engaging and interactive. His grading methodology is transparent. You'll know all the bases to cover for writing assignments. Great course. Interesting class discussions. Highly recommend Prof. Marsala.

Professor Miles is easy going, I took him online all quizzes are open book. He had fun polls in the beginning of class. You must read your book because he likes you to interact in class or you will force him to start making chapter quizzes. You have a couple papers to write but they are super easy, definitely would take him again

Professor Miles give great lectures and very interactive with the class. Yes you are required to have tour books for reading, he appreciates class participations.. he is super fun, no boring day in class definitely would take him again

The writing intensity in this class is specific according to the Gordon Rule of the college, he divides up the writing requirements into short essays. It is wise to maintain your attendance record in this class because there is content that is on the test that is sometimes only spoken in lectures. He is very accessible outside of class.

This teacher is very cool and laid back. Hes nice and willing to work with you through his office hours for any help or questions. As long as your doing the readings in his class you will be fine. There is a textbook required but it is totally free and can be found online.

Dr. Miles is very fair and understanding, his lessons and kahoots help me a lot on how to understand and process the lesson. He takes his time to guide you during his lessons. I learnt a lot from this class and I'm still learning. I encourage you to take his class!!!

Get ready to read for sure! but the readings allow for better discussions within the class where participation is recommended. Professor uses many creative surveys and questionaries' to keep the online lectures engaging and interesting.

Honestly one of the most chill professors ever, most important thing for this class is to make sure you are doing the reading before next class to have a discussion, participation is important in this class, i like that we have 4 short essays instead of a giant one, & i really like that the book is free haha also i enjoy learning about sociology

THE BEST PROFESSOR BY FAR! For being his first year at PBSC he is so down to earth, caring, and informative! Intro to Sociology do not pick anyone else! If anyone needs a Professor for Marriage and Family, this is the guy to go to. Hes an amazing Professor, gives great feedback, and properly explains our assignments and reading lectures. Textbook We get to take a 10 minute break in between class and be prepared to read the chapters before class.

Also the reading helps you when you participate in the amazing lectures. Unfortunately due to Covid-19, the class was switched to on zoom. I wish it was face-to-face.

I throughly enjoy him! He stimulates good conversation in lectures and is very personable. He seems to remember what its like to be a student so hes very understanding and accommodating in that aspect. 10/10 would take any of his classes. Hes also funny and creates a great learning environment. As long as you do what is expected you should pass.

He is a good professor who stays on topic while still engaging the class in interesting conversation. His teaching seems to be left leaning but diverse perspectives are always welcome in my book. His class was the first college class I have ever taken and it was a stellar introduction and makes me look forward to college as a whole.

All the information is in the book which is free, assignments are actually really interesting, I personally enjoyed doing them, I mean I enjoyed them as much as you can enjoy homework. He is also a pretty fair grader and I can tell he likes it when students participate in class. Over all a class I actually payed attention too because I wanted to.

There is room to pass his class. His notes are simple but you still have to read your textbook to pass his tests and quizzes. I really do recommend him.

My professor really cares about how well we do and let's us have the chance to show what we can do. He always listens and offers advice and support.

Prof. Marsala is pretty clear on what you need to do to pass. Provides opportunity for extra credit and is willing to answer any and all questions. While i took him online, he does his best to engage the class. The work is straight forward and the hardest thing is probably his DEAL exercise.

Easily the best professor I've had so far. Super engaging, very funny, and constantly asking open discussion questions. I'd consider this class to be more important than any other. I honestly am excited when it gets close to class time and am left wishing we could go another hour when class ends.

Professor Miles has to be hands down one of the bets professors I have had in my two years at palm beach state. Get ready to do kahoot, polls, and other fun activities that will get you involved. You'll have short essays, quizzes, and exams just like any other class. if you put in the work you'll pass with flying colors.

This class id by fair the most easy course I've ever taken. Professor miles is kind and corny funny, this course is not difficult and all you have to do is show up, participate, and do the essays. And, the essay are not hard at all and this quizzes but those are easy as well, TRUST ME!!!!!

Professor Marsala is great and engaging, its a lot of reading though (for me at least), but the presentations/lectures in class are interesting and fun to take part in. He does polls and kahoots as well; makes for an interactive way to learn. If you read the assigned readings and try to be engaged during the lectures, youll pass.

all in all great and easy professor! you learn a lot of interesting things in his class that I feel like will benefit everyone later on. he's big on surveys and participation to keep the class engaging and fun. he offers many opportunities for extra credit. you'll have a 600 word minimum paper due nearly once a month which is not much of a hassle:)

I took the SYG2430 Marriage and Family course. I thought Prof. Marsala taught the class well, he made it fun with online polls and games which I thought were very creative. There is a lot of reading but the PowerPoint and lectures during the class helped a lot in understanding things that were confusing before.

This professor is one of the best professor's that I've taken at Palm Beach State by far. His class is very easy and veryyyy hard to fail. I took him during the covid virtually. Make sure you read because he asked questions based on the readings. You have 4 deal exercises( essays about 800 words) to do. Make sure you sign in on time so that you don't miss anything. No textbooks needed, everything is provided on BB.

Great Professor. I really appreciate that he ask us what we do over the weekend every Monday morning. I really like when we do polls and Kahoot quizzes. He very organized and interactive with us during the lessons. He always finds a way to relate the lesson to us.

This particular Professor dives deep into many different topics in terms of the world of sociology such as social constructs, race, ethnicity, etc. I like this Professor a lot. If you have to take a Sociology class, I highly recommend taking a class taught by Professor Marsala. Trust me, you wont regret it.

Professor Marsala is an all around great professor, he know what he is talking about. All of his test and quizzes are open book open notes, but if you pay attention in class you do not really need them.

This one of the best classes I have taken. This is my first class at pbsc since transferring this professor uses different teaching styles to help every student learn. He gives a great amount of assignments and time in between so you don't feel overwhelmed.

i would consider this class as one of my favorites to be in. professor marsala cares so much for his students to provide many open opportunities to complete assignments so they don't feel stressed out. Professor Marsala is great. Always does his best to make topics interesting/fun for his students, a bit funny at times. Gives a good amount of assignments, he likes kahoots and polls. Assignments are easy to do if you follow along with the class and read. I highly recommend Professor Marsala, worth taking if interested in Sociology or need credit.

Hes really nice and the textbook is free online(he tells you where to get it) his lectures are really easy to comprehend and his tests and quizzes are open book so its hard to fail his class.

Definitely recommend this class if you can I its better to participate, it helps the lectures become more interesting by engaging. He is super flexible which was awesome for me because I was taking 5 classes. This was my most enjoyable class this semester.

Fantastic professor! I took this as an "Other Distance Mode" class. He is very responsive to questions (in-class and email) and lectures are great. The textbook is a free PDF too, so no paying for books! Absolutely recommend taking this guy.

Professor Marsala was truly a gem. The material he discussed was really interesting and his quizzes were really easy. There were a total of 4 untimed exams that are genuinely pretty easy if you read the sociology textbook. There are 2-3 deal exercises to do, but he offers so much extra credit and is always available to help you. Please take him!!

This class was very easy. Class consists of powerpoints and kahoots. As long as you do the homework and the two mandatory papers given through the semester it is fairly easy. Midterm and exams are taken at home so no stress to take them in person. Very sympathetic,funny and relatable professor and would totally take him again.
