He's tough but fair. Course material is pretty straightforward, but you've got to do the problems to get it. Only 3 tests and a final, so every point counts just practice and you'll do fine. He's willing to help you out, but only if you ask.

I took his online MET 310 course (Dynamics) and it was a very easy class. His quiz material comes from the modules. Modules do not take long to read. Most of his stuff is open notes. Homework and quizzes are 20% each and the exams are 60%. The exams are just like the homework and quizzes.

This guy is amazing. Probably the best professor I have ever had. I really wish he taught more classes. The class material is tough, but he does an amazing job trying to make it as painless as possible. You don't even have to buy a book because he outlines all the material for you!!!

Dr. Tomovic is all about not inducing stress. For his Vibrations class, all tests, quizzes, and homework were take home since they heavily used MATLAB. The quizzes were very similar to example problems, each were between 1 and 4 questions for various chapter sections. Homework was from the book. Tests were about 5-6 questions and covered 2 chapters

MET 310 online class is very well constructed! Really, this class should be used as a model for other classes. Do the work, make the grade - it really rings true here.

The lectures correlate to the homework and tests. He goes over examples in class that will help once it comes time to prove your knowledge. He promptly responds to emails and questions.

The course went off of PLE and notes. It was easy to follow. Just manage your time wisely with this course because there is a lot of material that is covered. The professor is understanding of life happening and will work with you.

Taking an online, asymmetric class, I often felt like a faceless name especially when I had questions about course material. For the most part, my questions were answered. The computer graded everything instantly which is good for the professor but not great for the student because the question of "why? is the answer wrong" becomes more difficult.

Overall, a good instructor. Be advised, however, ask for help when you need it and don't wait until the last minute!

Each unit (8) has about 7 small quizzes and a hw assignment with 14 questions. Do not procrastinate!

Great Professor, one of the best in the MET program. Had him for MET 310 & 420. Professor Tomovic really focuses on teaching the material vs. testing. His lectures always prepare you for the tests/ assignments. His classes aren't just easy A's though. Be prepared to work through a lot of assignments. Do the work and you'll get the grade/ learn.

The class is design to be completely online. There is no exams in this class, BUT there is a lot of HW and quizzes. He gives examples with step by step procedures and if you follow them you will be fine. There were a few times i needed help and he was always willing to help with any questions. Forced into distance learning but the course was still good. Expect to spend many hours/week on homework assignments and they're pretty hard. And yet once I was comfortable completing those problems the exams were the same style and process to solve. They took me 3-4 hrs, he provides up to 2 days, and I scored well. I learned a lot in this course.

Online course, lots of good examples and detailed lectures of required material. Promptly returned emails when needed help. Straight forward expectations. Good teacher. Only small complaint I may have is his handwritten worked examples were pretty sloppy and hard hard to read writing. Beside that good teacher and would take again.

If you look at the quiz and compare it to the posted notes. You might find they look similar, or match. The same might apply to tests and quizzes. Wink Wink.

This class felt like a completion grade. The professor gave the opportunity to make the research that you do in the class matter. If you're a graduate student, that means that by taking this class, you could use the class work to prepare a research or conference paper. If you're a grad student with a ton of work, it can be a good easy 3rd course.

Very fair teacher that makes you work for your grade. As long as you put in the copious amount of work you will both learn a lot and pass with the effort you put in. The lectures are very proof heavy so be sure to use plenty of supplemental material to get other view points.

This is probably one of most well-organized professors I've ever had. Course content is clear and straight to the point, very helpful when you need it. Dr. Tomovic is very understanding and knows how to help, just ask! Equal parts theory & computation. Decent time spent required, practice Statics. Some Calculus, near-perfect Algebra is a must!

The class was straightforward and all materials needed were easily accessible. All assignments were also available to complete at one's own pace. The notes, assignments, and examples all helped to understand the subject and pass the class.

This is a MATLAB course. His content is very straightforward. However, you will go over some topics such as Calculus, Statistics, Diff. Equations, and Physics and you will use MATLAB to solve problems in those areas. It can be very challenging and prior MATLAB experience is highly recommended IMO. But, great prof., and teaches other courses too!

I took this class during the summer '21. There are a lot of homework and quizzes, but if you take the time to watch Professor Tomovic's lectures, read the notes, and try the additional practice problems, you should have no problem with this course. Was an easy class he will give you plenty of chance to get a good grade

There is a lot of HW but they are not difficult at all. The HW's are really there to guide you through the chapters and pick out the necessary information, as opposed to having to decipher what info is important.

This course is a good amount of busy work when it comes to taking all the quizzes and test for each chapter. However, all the information is provided via modules making these assignments fairly easy. the test material is all studied and reviewed in class and on the homework. Overall an easy A as long as you put the time and work into the course.

During my time in this course I missed an entire exam just because I simply confused the date it was to be taken. I emailed the professor the day after I had missed the exam and let him know my situation and he allowed me to take the exam. I believe having a professor who understands people have lives is important and this professor understands.

The class allowed the us to go at our own pace with only a few deadlines for homework and tests. This class was one of the best summer courses I have had.

The professor is kind of usual in his approach to the problems; he will give you similar problems to solve vice, diving off into mental gymnastics when the material is sort of vague, to begin with. His methodology is also different, especially when ODU's professor chooses to use in math (i, j, K). You reach the same answers. He is a good professor

Professor Mileta is one of the best online lecturers. His lectures are clear and concise, and the quizzes reflect his lectures. This is not an easy coarse, but Professor Mileta makes the material easier to digest. He's also available if you are stuck on the material or homework. ENGT 305 is a very homework heavy class; just all reading material and practical application. The class is an easy A, and Dr. Tomovic was very helpful outside of class and was very flexible with due dates when I got behind since it was a 6-week course. Dr. Tomovic seemed to care a lot about his students and really wants them to learn and do well.

The class itself was difficult but he provided lectures for each topic so you didn't need to purchase the textbook and all quizzes and exams were straight from the notes and examples. If you ever had questions he quickly replies to emails/schedules a zoom meeting for further explanation. You get multiple attempts for homework, quizzes, and exams.

He gives examples that are very similar to the problems in the homework and exams.

I had a great experience in this class. Professor Tomovic gives clear expectations for each assignment. EVERY assignment can be attempted multiple times at home with open book/notes. He responds to emails promptly (within 24h), but he gives a LOT of (easy) assignments. As long as you do the work, you do fine, it's just a lot of work on your laptop.

Professor Tomovic is one of the nicest teachers I have ever had. His passion and experience in engineering make critical concepts a lot easier to understand. He teaches hard material but is very happy to help any student understand the material. Dynamics is not an easy course, but it is a course that is much easier with Professor Tomovic.

The professor has great handle on the material and ensures that the lessons align with both the homeworks and exams. I never felt like there were trick questions or new material being asked on the exams or homeworks. The pace of the class is manageable, even with a full time military career.

Attendance is not required or necessary for this class. This allowed me to work with other students during ‘class time' ,which was helpful not just for dynamics, but all my other classes. There is a lot of homework, and redoing a bunch of your work is a necessity, but the instructor gives a generous amount of attempts to get the correct answers.

Overall, you'd have to put in effort to fail his class, Make sure to ask questions if confused, and I'd definitely take another Mileta class.

Easy grader and not difficult to follow lectures.

Dr. Tomovic is a fantastic professor. He's easy-going and is extremely flexible. Highly recommend taking his classes, especially if you're working full-time while in grad school.

I really like that this professor tends to give partial credit or grade off effort. It mimics the real world. Many times, professors get lost in the world of academia and expect everything to be black and white. Real world engineering is far from that. I also like that this class doesn't require memorization. memorizing everything is just silly.

Really cooperative and will communicate with you if you reach out.

Overall an Outstanding Professor

Professor Tomovic's ENGT 305 asynchronous course has a lot of quizzes and homework but all the material you need to succeed in the class is provided. He answers emails promptly and is helpful when you ask questions. As long as you put in effort and meet the deadlines you'll pass the class. I would take another class with Professor Tomovic anytime.

3rd class with Dr. Tomovic and he really is the best. Easy to follow along with, grades very quickly, and responds to messages promptly. Very clear course outlines and he knows MATLAB very well. Would love to take more courses by him; he is definitely my favorite professor at ODU Engineering.

MATLAB is an amazing program. Simple and easy to use. I had never been exposed to that particular program before. I have very little coding experience and I was able to navigate through it with little to no struggle. The professor used their knowledge to help me perfect my skills with this program.

Professor Tomovic is an outstanding and highly knowledgeable instructor. his teacheang was clear explanations, organized lectures, and ability to connect theory with real-world engineering applications. I appreciate his patience, and dedication to student success. He is also supportive and genuinely passionate about teaching advanced manufacturing.

He is one of the best professor in ODU! his class is an easy A as long as you are keeping up with the work, if you fall behind it may be hard to catch up. I've taken two of his classes and i would take another if i had too.

Labs can be difficult even with weekly tutoring

Professor Mileta was fantastic, challenging, supportive, and always willing to help. The course was demanding and required real critical thinking and study time, but his clear explanations and dedication made the material engaging and rewarding. Truly an outstanding professor. You have to study for this class and practice.

Dr. Tomovic is a good teacher, and he cares about your well-being. He also shows concern when you are not submitting your work. Also, he puts everything you need to pass this class in the modules. The lectures are quizzes and some of the quizzes include problems that prepare you for the homework for each module. It also prepares you for the exams.

The clear well prepared lectures, good level of knowledge passed to the students.
