He is the best professor I've ever had! He is so funny and makes each lecture worth your while. I stopped reading the book and going off of lecture notes and have had great success. Miss the 8 am class? No worries there is a 12:00 you can attend. He brought a plastic bow and arrow to class and danced across the room. He leaves room for questions.

This was an amazing class, I had so much fun. Can't wait to take CLST450 Greek and Roman Satire with Mr. Miller next quarter. If you have a chance to take a class with him you really should.

He is a great teacher and is very clear in what he teaches you, but the online quizzes are tough. I took this class hoping for it to be an easy A but I am still having to study and read quite a bit. The tests are ok. Average is usually around 70. Make sure you go to class before the quizzes and read otherwise they will be tough.

This class was super interesting and he made it even more interesting! He found ways to connect Greek Myth to modern day life which made it much easier to remember. He is overall a really amusing professor and I don't know anyone that doesn't like him.

Fun, easy class. Just remember to do the online work. Attendance is taken. He's a very charismatic person and makes a lot of jokes. He treats you like an adult and doesn't sugar coat history. Since its such a big lecture, theres not a lot of interaction with the class or with other classmates. Go to lecture and you can pass the online quizes

Greek Myth 350 lecture is story time.

Krause is really into his subject, and it shows! He makes every story interesting, and does a fine job keeping humor in the situation. Overall, I would recommend his class if you need the GUR or filler class.

There are usually short weekly quizzes that are easy if you've attended lectures, read, or are already familiar with the myths discussed. There are 2 big tests: midterm and final. You will definitely need to study for those- they're much harder! He's sarcastic and keeps you interested. Will definitely take another class of his.

krause is really great at keeping you engaged and interested in the lecture. there are weekly quizzes but if you go to class and listen you'll pass the quizzes. i also would highly recommend writing notes in class. my notes that i took were super helpful for studying for his midterm & final.

Professor Krause know his subject, and he expects you to as well (within reason). My point is that he has high expectations for you. So, read before class, take good notes, and study hard for the test (there were only two: 1 midterm and a final 30% each of your grade). -- so every point counts.

I loved this class and this professor. He was super enthusiastic about the material which made it easier to understand. The topic is very tough with a ton of details, but if you keep up with notes and the readings its really not too tough. Word of advice, pay attention and remember the photos & maps he shows, because he will test you on them.

Prof Krause is hilarious!!! There is so much reading in this class but every lecture was a summary of the assigned reading. DO NOT TAKE THAT FOR GRANTED THOUGH. JUST READ. This was a really interesting class and it's really hard to stay away because of Prof Krause's personality!

Show up to the 2 hour lectures twice a week, get a short (10 question) test on the lectures online on Friday. Pretty much everything on the test is covered in class, and if you forget/don't want to search your notes, you can just google some of the answers. There is occasionally online discussion HW, which you will almost always get 100% on.

Miller is a real gem. Show up to class for //story time// and you'll do just fine on the tests. Grade is also built upon some online discussions and quizzes. He's so passionate about the topic and works hard to make the course interesting and entertaining. He keeps everyone engaged, even in my 8 am. I adored my time in Greek Myth.

Miller has a great sense of humor, and looks like he should be teaching mythology. He knows a lot about it and his class is very easy. It's a large class so everything is online and you can easily get an A in this class.

I had this class at 8am and still enjoyed going to class. Quizzes every week but they are easy if you go to class and take notes. Textbook is not needed if you go to class. All quizzes and tests are though canvas online. 10/10 wound recommend

Krause is really into what he teaches. His slides aren't always clear but if you take detailed notes (on the PowerPoint and on what he says) you'll do really well. All quizzes/midterms/finals online.

Professor Krause is hilarious and his lectures are super entertaining. There are quizzes every week but they are really easy if you take notes on his powerpoints. He teaches Greek Mythology in a very entertaining and always made me look forward to class.

Idk why people are booty-tickled by his sarcastic humor but I guess it's not for everyone. I personally take it with a grain of salt. Weekly quizzes, a midterm, discussion posts, and final all contribute to your grade. Not too bad if you come to class and take active notes. His lectures are very engaging and fun to listen to.

So funny and really makes the content relatable. You do have to learn the Greek alphabet enough to sound out words but other than that the clas is pretty easy especially if you are familiar with the Greek gods.

Honestly I love him. He's got a weird sarcastic sense of humor but he is really funny. His lectures were enjoyable and he clearly knows a lot about the topics. The only thing that really sucks is you have to learn the greek alphabet which I struggled with. All assignments were online which makes things easier as well.

Be prepared to take lots of notes ! Quizzes can include even seemingly small details. His lectures are fun - likes to show funny videos related to the myths, and sometimes does character voices.

It's a fun class even at 8 am. I loved the lectures, especially the props. Miller is honestly a really nice guy, and I enjoyed his 350 class that I signed up for 260 in the winter.

Krause knows his material and explains it in plain words. You need to read the textbook though, especially since all the names in his powerpoints are in Greek. This was my fav class this quarter, I ended up really liking it although I signed up just for the GUR.

I thought he was a really fun and engaging teacher, I took him for CLST 350, Greek Mythology. All of his quizzes and tests (Including midterms and finals) are online, so it was easy to get a good grade. I found the material to be extremely boring and repetitive, and attendance is graded.

Good professor, interesting lectures. Finals and tests are online and open for a long time. Don't skip the lectures or leave halfway through, it will make things much more difficult for you on tests.

He is an amazing professor. He understands the students needs and was very easy when it came to late work. He makes time for his students and is always there when you need him. He is very sarcastic and funny but one of the best things about him is his passion for the subject he teaches. His personality makes him so lovable.

I am by no means what one would call a "morning person", but this professor got me laughing at eight in the morning too many times to count. You can tell he knows what he's talking about, and while his dry sense of humor may take a little getting used to, he was my favorite professor during winter quarter

Krause is my favorite professor that I have had in my 3 years of college. He is hilarious, the grading criteria is very specific and expectations of students should be well understood if you just attend the two lectures per week. The course is interesting, not too work-heavy, and Krause's enthusiasm made it so much better. 10/10 would recommend.

Such a fun personality. He is quirky and very good at making his lectures very interesting. His entertaining and blunt personality make the class worthwhile. Because greek myth is hard to memorize, all of his quizzes and tests are online. Beware quizzes are in greek, but he gives the tools to translate.

Great guy easy class if you study hard on the Greek alphabet. DONT buy the most recent volume of the textbook save yourself some money. Also family trees are VERY important. You also need to have read the Oddessy. Overal I enjoy his humor some might not.

All the course work to include the tests are online, the quizzes and mid-term/final are timed and it can get a bit stressful for the quizzes because the names are all in greek. Overall easy A if you pay attention in class and do the work.

This was a very fun class, Miller engaged the class very well. Lectures were long but were still very interesting. Miller is very dedicated to students even bringing in props and acting out the stories from myth. The assignments are all graded very fairly and he even gives you an extra day to complete assignments and will email you if you miss it.

Krauses sense of humor can be kind of dry sometimes but hes a good teacher and he makes sure you understand. Tests and quizzes are online which is helpful.

Uses a lot of humor to keep students engaged. Lays out dense material in a very efficient and easily understood manner. He is a caring and flexible professor; as long as you communicate he is accommodating. His classes have very heavy reading but readings are thoroughly explained in class. Krause somehow made an 8am bearable with his lectures. There is a lot of reading but he does a great job of bringing it to life during the lectures and making them comprehensible. He really loves the material, has a great sense of humor, and is really good at giving you other resources (such as emailing an entire webpage in Latin and translating it in real time). 100% recommend, even if you arent a classics major.

Professor Krause is great! This class calls for a lot of reading or else you won't understand anything. But, the readings are very interesting. Krause is hilarious and very entertaining throughout his entire lecture!, so classes are very interesting! I definitely would take this class again!

Miller Krause is an absolute icon. He inspired me to minor in classical studies and is one of my favorite professors at wwu. Hilarious, detailed, and get to learn how to read Greek! He's hip with the kids and honestly as long as you do the assignments it's easy to get an A or a B. Take this class! You won't regret it!

Krause is one of the greatest professors a student could ever ask for in college, he hilarious, well informed, and extremely charismatic. I never thought I would be excited for an 8 Am class, but I am with him. His lectures are mostly summaries of the reading and his quizzes/workbooks, as well as the midterm and final are all online.

I really enjoyed this class. But know: he talks VERY fast, so be ready to take notes FAST. You don't really need the book, and the quizzes/tests are all online and 100% based on lecture, so make sure you attend or you likely won't do well. Pro tip: take screenshots of the Socrative questions @ the end of class. It will save you so much study time.

Miller Krause is so forgiving and supportive. he gives you tons of opportunities to turn in your homework and tons of options if you don't like some of them. Also he lets you turn in stuff late with no loss in points. The readings are mostly unnecessary but his lectures are fantastic so I highly recommend going to class (and he takes attendance)

Miller is just incredible. He understands what it's like to be a college student and makes sure you have every opportunity to get an A. I bought the textbook, but I ended up not even reading it because his lectures were so great. He is very passionate about what he does, and it shows in how great he is as a professor.

Miller was one of my favorite instructors. He summarizes the readings in a way that makes it easy to understand. I never read the book since he explains everything in class. The weekly quizzes are easy if you pay attention and take notes. There are a few discussion assignments. You can tell that Miller really cares about what he is teaching.

It's obvious how much he cares about the subject matter - he managed to make every 2-hour lecture fun and engaging throughout all of it, and it felt a lot more like learning than just busy work. Assignments and exams were totally fair and non-stressful so I could just focus on enjoying the lecture content. He goes above and beyond in his lectures.

Really entertaining class. Just don't miss any and you don't even need a textbook. Be prepared to be roasted in front of 100 people if you say something dumb though.

I LOVE this man. I will ignore every negative review of him until I die. He is so funny and although he's a little awkward sometimes, he made class fun. Miller Krause is a model professor. He makes his classes more entertaining than Ive ever experienced before without giving easy As. His classes often include a lot of reading, but carefully selected readings that keep you enthralled and interested in subject matter. Krause teaches students to be noble and virtuous through classical literature.

Despite receiving a D in his class, Professor Krause is one of the best professors Ive had at WWU. His lectures are incredible, and he understands the humor and culture of his college-aged audience. The problem for me was that I took Greek myth 350 as a freshman. Wait to take this till later, I didnt know at the time. Choose this prof if you can.

The best professor I have had in my 3 years at Western. His classes aren't a part of my major but I would like to take more just because of how much I enjoyed his classes. There is a textbook for this class but you don't really need it because he teaches it all in his lectures. The assignments were easy too.

Classes are long and dense which made it difficult for me (but that's not the professor's fault). Quizzes and exams were online. Few assignments and most were pretty easy (although there a couple that were difficult for me as someone who hates creative writing). Textbook (which is very dense as well) not totally necessary but a good reference.

CLST 350 was the best class I've ever taken. I'm taking CLST 360 next semester even though it has nothing to do with my major because Krause made me fall in love with Greek Myth. The class requires you learn a lot of information, but it's worth it. He's hilarious, a great teacher, and lectures are never boring. Read the textbook & do assignments.

his lectures are pretty hefty but interesting, and hes a pretty funny guy! as long as you do the readings before class youll be fine. theres also weekly quizzes & discussions. the one thing that stressed me out is how the quizzes are 10 Qs but you only get 10 min to complete. along w/ that, midterm & final is 50 Qs, but you only get 60 min.

Krause is your guy when it comes to learning anything about Greek Myth. The lectures are LONG, but it's basically one big storytime. You've really just gotta show up, pay attention and engage if you want to be successful. Find a small study group, and just chat about what yall talked about in class and you'll be fine. He's super enthusiastic.

This was my favorite class so far this year. I learned cool, new things, and I had a good time. I can actually see some constellations at night now, and I know stories that go with them. Lectures were great. Would take again if I could.

I took Literature of Rome and Empire and it was so unexpectedly awesome. He's amazing at lectures and you can tell he's really passionate. This class specifically is meant to be all about reading, but honestly the lectures are so in depth I got away with skimming/not reading. Its mainly easy quizzes and discussion posts. But you def can't skip.

Krause was an amazing Latin professor and his class was engaging, fun, and informative. Make sure to pay real close attention in class because he will not be speaking in English at all. The tests aren't too hard and homework assignments were mostly easy. He created a great classroom environment and I learned so much in a short amount of time!

A very caring and hilarious professor. Entire quarters assignments were laid out far in advance. Lectures were mandatory and could be a little boring but there is a 10 minute break in between to help ease it. As long as you attend class you should be fine.

I loved taking this class! Lectures and readings were long but he was able to make the whole two hours interesting and fun. The textbook edition didn't matter and so you could get it really cheap. In fact, it was encouraged to find a copy for under like $10 because otherwise you were wasting your money.

This professor was one of my favorite professors Ive had. He was an amazing storyteller and kept everyone engaged. It's a pretty easy class if you attend and pay attention with weekly quizzes and discussions.

This professor didn't make the classes difficult; they were just right, not too hard and not overly stressful. He is also why I even wanted to become a Classical Studies minor. If you need a class for graduation credit, then any of his classes are highly recommended.

Mr. Krause is an amazing professor; his lectures are long (2 hours) and at 8:00 am :(, but honestly, you don't even have to do the readings as long as you pay attention in class. Super easy quizzes and discussion boards. Besides it being so early, the class is super easy and so entertaining.

There is a lot of readings, however, don't worry if you can't read them or only skim because he fully covers them well in class. Stay for his Socratic questions at the end! They are the answers to the quizzes.
