EXCELLANT TEACHER...TAKES TIME TO HELP EVERYONE UNDERSTAND MATERIAL
He's a great teacher.
He's one of those rare teachers who actually really truly love the subject and it shows in his teaching. I hate math, I don't get it, but from him I got it. :)
Milos is an awesome teacher! He is very sympathetic when it comes to student needs. He is very enthusiastic about math and about making sure you understand it. He goes the extra mile to meet with you outside of class and office hours even though he doesn't have to. Even holds review sessions each week! Thx Milos!
I'm not into math, but there's something about Mr. Podmanik that pulled me in. He's passionate, fun, and easy going. I like that he gave us odd problems in the book. His projects are tough but he helps you understand them. I recommend him!
Two weeks into class and I actually enjoy Math! Milos is a great teacher, explains everything to the inth degree until even those like me get it.
Great teacher. He loves teaching and math and that makes such a difference to those like me that absolutely HATE math. He made it easy and interesting. At times he forgets we are not at his level but quickly comes back down to earth for us. If you are scared of math he is the teacher for you.
Milos is a great teacher. It is clear that he loves the subject and teaching in general. He plays music at the beginning of class and he always goes over any problems we had with the homework. Homework is given full credit if most is done. Awesome teacher.
He is super funny and helpful teacher. all you have to do in class is complete all homework and work hard for the test. He is very organize. He gives less homework than other math professors in general. Test is not challenging at all because he allow students to bring a 4"x6" note card in every test.
He was confusing at times, but we were an "experimental class" considering it was the first time the class was offered. The class was great overall!
Awesome class. He is a really fun guy who enjoys math a lot. I learned a lot about finances that I probably would never know. He has a lot of passion. This is great if you are normally bored by things like math.
super nice. does alot of story problems but i dont like that. he only teaches what he HAS to. homework isnt required. we had some group quizes which is cool.
One of the BEST teachers I've ever had! He is truly invested in his students success & will go above & beyond if you ask for help. Has the ability to explain concepts in different ways so you will understand. He doesn't require memorization of formulas for exams, but you do need to know when/how to use them. Group projects. Fall 2010, rcvd an A.
great math teacher. highly recommended
I have always struggled with math but this class was an absolute breakthrough. His approach and ability to convey concepts in simple terms along with a genuine personality made this an extremely pleasant and painless experience. This instructor is fun, professional and creates a wonderful learning environment. I recommend him to anyone.
Milos is a cool dude. I've never had a teacher as friendly as him. Had fun in this class plus actually understand what diff eq's are all about. Seems like he cuts out alot of unnecessary busy work on homework..not sure...would have to see what other teachers ask for on homework, etc.
Milo was amazing. I too have always struggled in math, and somehow with him it was a breeze. I felt really confident in math and I have never felt that way before. I took a summer session with him so it was fast pace but I never felt left behind. He truly does care about his students, and that's what matters. I would totally recommended him.
Not the best teacher I've had. I'd recommend Scott Adamson. Milos tries to write his own book - it was littered with errors and most of the time his solutions weren't accurate. He's a nice guy, but is rather typical when it comes to teaching style. It was hard to learn from him because of his book and communication style.
Milos is a fun guy. He gives plenty of opportunities to earn your grade but definitely makes you work for it. We did some hands on trig stuff that made the radians more clear and he uses lots of real world stuff. The problems are hard but you learn a lot.
Cool class. Easygoing and we did some gardening to apply the math.
The guy doesn't teach! He'll get up and joke for 10 minutes, lecture for 10 more, then spend the rest of the class talking to his favorite students. Never finishes class on time. He always scrambles to tell you important information to your back as everyone is leaving. Take Scott Adamson, he is a much better teacher. I'm not sure if he teaches trig though.
Good teacher, hell do what he can to help you out if you ask. Funny guy, keeps class entertaining .
TAKE HIM!!!!!!!!!!! you are crazy if you dont! only math class where at the end of the semester, everyone is still enrolled!
Wrote a book for us to use to save us money. Saved me $150, and he used it as a way to see math differently. He is funny, nice, and bends over backward to make time for you outside of class. Ask him about the triangle ^2 joke :))
You don't have to buy a book. He wrote one and it gives lots of examples. He does finance math in this class which makes it really useful. It's challening, but he is super helpful. I spent HOURS in his office. Thanks Milos!
Loved this class! Fun and almost no stress. The ideas were clear and he always made me feel comfortable answering questions in front of the class.
He actually made me think. It was a tough class, but Milos always made me feel comfortable coming to him with questions and concerns. Milos is rad!
Gearing up for the final. I feel confident that I learned a TON in here. Didn't know that probability actually dealt with things other than dice and card games! Mr. Podmanik put in a lot of time to find important applications to real life.
I recommend reading the syllabus. Milos makes it clear that he expects real-world understanding and NOT processes. If you REALLY understand the math then you should be able to make sense out of it. Simple as that!
Milos is a Trig beast!!!!!!!!!!! Very dope teacher. I had a rough semester personally. Milos goes above and beyond for your success in this class. For ex. Posting videos, personal tutoring and retake tests. I you fail this class, it is soley your fault. Great teacher!!!!!!!!!
Great instructor and great class! The final was very reasonable if you did the review.
Very helpful, but is too interested with putting problems into real world context which often makes them impossible to solve even for Milos. Also he requires tons of work to be done in groups so if your group can't meet, you're out of luck he doesn't care if it's just you and one other group member trying to get yours and 3 other peoples work done.
Enjoyed the class. too many real world problems. Its good if you're in to that type of thing.
fun class it was early morning but he was funny and made class interesting
One of the best math teachers I have had so far, and I have had some pretty amazing math teachers. His teaching style is wonderful, he clearly understands math very well and how to teach it and it shows. This class was awesome.
Milos is an easy-going guy with a real-world teaching style. He gives credit just for trying the assignment or problem. I would definitely recommend taking his class.
I took his class in summer I 2012 and it was great. He makes sure you get the subject and uses real world style of teaching. He is the best. I learned, had fun and I got and I got and A. I'm going to take him for MAT 217 later on. I recommend to take his class of any.
milos cares about every students and teaches this difficult and abstract class in a fun way.100% recommended
I took his class in summer I 2012 and it was great. He makes sure you get the subject and uses real world style of teaching. He is the best. I learned, had fun and I got an A. I'm going to take him for MAT 217 later on. I recommend to take his class of any.
I HATE math with a passion(really bad at it),but this class was not bad at all!I even got an A for the first time ever lol :) .He makes everything more real life and easier to understand. I had a 7am class and if you were late or missed a few classes it was okay. mostly group work and class discussions. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this teacher!!!
Words cannot begin to describe this amazing and nature loving teacher. He is passionate about the subject and understanding when you're just not "getting it." Milos Rocks!
Milos made the material interesting. His jokes are kind of lame, but Id take another one of his classes for sure.
pretty cool guy. He explains in a different kind of way but it makes it easier to understand. he wrote his own textbook so you don't need to buy one, I had no problems with it. only complaint , I emailed him a couple times and he never replied. I would recommend his class.
Milos was a pretty good teacher. Tests were kind of hard and confusing. He was always willing to answer questions though! The way he explains how to do the math is a little bit hard but I would rather have taken his class then any other teacher.
The tests for this class were crazy hard! The projects and show you knows were back breaking! He dispises formulas and rules. This made it a really hard class. Milos is a super cool prof and him writing a free ebook was nice. I would take more classes fro him but would have to prepre myself for the challenge.
Too much busy work in the garden. NOt everyone is interested.
One of the best math teachers around. Took this class over the summer and it was great. He teaches you how to do differential equations logically so you can avoid memorizing all but 2 or 3 equations. He's a funny guy, grades generously, and allows Wolfram to be used just about any time. Definitely recommend for engineering/science majors!
Milos is a good guy, and a good teacher as well. He went over problems pretty well, although sometimes he spent a lot of time on specific problems. He gave quizzes, a project, and a take-home final. Sometimes problems got complicated, but Milos was there to help. However, beware, as this is an extremely difficult summer class.
Milos is a great professor! He is very helpful. It's easy to do well in hisclass as long as you pay attention. He wrote his own textbook. He even has video solutions to some homework problems in order to help you better understand them. I was definitely not into stats but he actually made the class fun and interesting. Definitely recommend him!
Milos is a great teacher. Always willing to help, as long as you ask. He created his own text book with video solutions to almost every problem. Not an easy class, but he makes it much easier to learn and to understand. This class is not easy to get an A in, but all grades are well deserved. He is hands down the best teacher for this subject.
I can't believe I had to do 6 projects total in this class. They were all frickin confusing and hard. You need to understand his mind to pass this class, if not, don't take it.
He's a great professor! Definitely has a different teaching method but he gets you thinking and likes to involve his students to help explain the subject better. His class was a bit work but it was worth it at the end. He's hard not to like, such a nice guy!! Take him.
All of the work outside mymathlab was so confusing and required way to much work for very little points. He also assigned a lot of projects and GROUP projects for an online class, which was super inconvenient. I don't recommend him, especially for an online class.
The lazy student in me says his class was too much work. In reality, he gives the opportunity to choose what grade you want on each project. If you want a better grade, you do more work. If you want to advance in your career, you put in more effort than others. Milos is kind, supportive, and has an open-door policy, which many instructors don't.
I really like Milos as a person and teacher. the class is real world stuff. He even says that if he can't find something to apply the math to then he won't teach it. The class was easy. I did all of the "optional" work and have a high B going intot the final.
Milos seems to be a passionate person towards math. Along with the lab works we had projects that included a lot of real-world applications. His videos are easy to follow, definitely helpful. He stays in contact very well and responds to any concerns within reasonable time.
This was a pretty cool class. Milos makes math more real. I am not great at algebra so it was refreshing to see that he is more interested in seeing your problem solving abilities. A lot of the math was interesting and useful. Probability is pretty tough
Milos is the nicest guy ever and he really cares about his students. The only issue is that it's apparent he's not an expert and he has a hard time explaining concepts at times and takes far too long to explain them. Majority of the homework, exams, projects he pulled from a book that wasn't assigned to us. Very confusing if you havnt read the book
Milos is fun and wants his students to succeed but he writes his own book so you have to grasp his logic in order to understand the material. A total of six projects were assigned so be ready to spend lots of time on them. Homework wise not so much but understanding the concept is the key to succeed in this class, which is the hardest part.
Great teacher. Really cares for his students and does what he can to make sure they understand math. Definitely recommend.
Worst ratings that I've ever given anyone which stinks because Milos is a super nice guy, just a horrible online teacher. His book is obviously a labor of his love but was the worst textbook that I've ever used. I love math but I learned absolutely nothing during the entire semester. Taking this from him was the worst mistake of my college career.
Great class and great instructor. I wish I had taken Mr. Podmanik for more classes
Great class and great instructor. I wish I had taken Mr. Podmanik for more classes. I recommend his class
Milos is a cool cat. He expects you to take it to the next level with the Big Ticket projects, but the material is super interesting and, quite honestly, makes me want to learn more. I really like that the material was always real-world and that the math was just a "tool". I wish every math professor thought like him. Mad props.
I don't really like online classes but I did really well in this class. Mr. Podmanik posts videos for us and is very helpful. He is a really nice person and makes you excited about math. He will even meet you outside of class to go over homework whenever you need
Milos is a funny, caring professor. He is full of energy during an early Monday morning class. Lectures are interactive and fun.
By far the best math teacher that I've ever had. He is very helpful. I took his math 121 online and if you have any questions he will respond back asap. I would recommend this class to everyone!
Best math class I have taken! I feel like I can make better financial decisions now because of this class.
Professor Podmanik was a great teacher to have. He really wants you to understand the material and gives lots of opportunities to earn the grade you want. You just have to do the work.
I was worried this class would be really hard since it is a class done in one month. Milos was funny and helpful.
Love this class and professor, he really cares about his students. He brings a fresh perspective to Algebra and helps apply it to real world experience. If you struggle or just want an excellent class. I recommend..
I'm taking Tutored Math and he's the teacher that helps us. I haven't taken Algebra for a year so I decided to sign up for this class and it was the best decision.
I took statistics in high school and had no idea what I was doing. Milos teaches in a way that makes sense because it is based on simulations that I can wrap my head around. We did a lot of experiments and had to run our own as part of a project.
AWESOME AWESOME TEACHER!!!!! He helps you every step of the way. I can't stand math and he was able to make me enjoy math and actually understand it. He answers emails and questions right away. He gives you good feedback and he is the kind of teacher who wants you to pass! I would totally take him again!
I'm sure you can find an easier teacher for 217, but he really does care. He's one of those oddly passionate professors, and he tries to be funny.
Milos was very helpful. He keeps good communication even through the internet course.
Milos was a very helpful and understanding professor. His class was not an easy A; he makes you work for your grade. There are quizzes almost weekly over material covered in class & on homework. Midterm & a final exam that is worth 20% of your grade. Doesn't try to trick you with material on testsexams. Work hardask questions & you'll be fine.
He's there to help if you need it. Does not quiz on memorization, but expects full comprehension of material in real-world scenarios. Provides video lectures, which are very helpful. However, he strays a lot from the subject matter in the videos and it's confusing. Gives quizzes every other week and 2 group projects.
He puts a lot of attention on real-world understanding. It was hard for me to accept this different approach but I did end up liking it a lot. I really liked Milos and enjoyed his enthusiasm. He really has a passion unlike many others. Knows his stuff too.
Amazing teacher! He has a good sense of humor and really wants you to understand ideas. I have never understood why to use certain formulas, but I didn't have to worry about that here. Formulas are used sometimes, but it's nice to have things make sense by using common knowledge.
Milos was an awesome instructor. He would help me out with things that were not so clear to me. He also would explain things in different formats to ensure people in the class understood the material.
Good teacher! Got an A... didn't think I would, but I did. I highly suggest. He's funny too!
Milos is awesome! He keeps you engaged with his personality--he's funny! Makes class fun! Teaches everything thoroughly and if you don't understand, he will help you after class. He wants everyone to understand and get a good grade! Do the homework, come to class prepared and you should be fine! Got an A!
Really great teacher. Very clear cut on expectations. Makes you write papers though and explain all mathematical terms. Can be challenging at times, but if you put in the effort you WILL get an A.
I took Linear Algebra at ASU and had a professor who didn't care. I dropped the class and took it at CGC. Milos is a super nice guy and is happy and excited to be teaching every early morning that I see him. His take home quizzes are pretty brutal, but I get his point that solving engineering problems is about using what you know in new ways.
I took MAT 121 with Podmanik. Great instructor and for the most part, an easy class. He always responded to emails asap and it was obvious he is pretty passionate about his teaching. I would definitely recommend him as an instructor.
Very helpful and clear instructor. I enjoyed the time he took to help explain the material to myself as well as the class! Great instructor!!
Milos is a genuinely nice guy. He loves teaching and it is evident. It is clear that he keeps up with the disciplines students go into. Other than the chemistry I have been learning in my chemistry classes, he is the only math professor who has any idea how math applies to it. His class is discussion based and I think it helps to lighten the atmosp
Awesome teacher!! Posts videos for weekly homework and lessons, very helpful. Would definately take more classes from him.
Great teacher, very helpful video lectures. Everything is real world related. Would def take a class with him again.
He gets more excited about teaching math than any teacher I have ever had before. His enthusiasm makes learning fun and interesting.
Milos is a talented instructor. His corny humor lightens the atmosphere of the classroom, and his discussion-based style is optimal for learning. My only critique is that he did seem a little more prone to making mistakes on answer keys for homework assignments/projects than most professors, but overall, his class was excellent and enjoyable.
Milos is a breath of fresh air in the math department at CGCC. He uses this class to show you "real world" math and basically makes you a pro at word problems. He is passionate and an extremely fair grader. You will have a midterm and final. You will also have a quiz every other week which he takes problems straight from the homework. Made math fun
Milos was the most informative professor I have yet to have. He cares about his students and wants the best for them! Absolutely plan on taking courses with Milos in the future!
SO upbeat! He is so enthusiastic and never makes you feel dumb for asking a question. He's really such a great professor. I HIGHLY recommend taking him. I was really nervous to take diff eq, but he made the class extremely enjoyable! TAKE HIM!
I am SO GLAD that I had found Milos! I took MAT 217 from a different instructor elsewhere, and he was awful (and THAT instructor is listed on here and he's got a rating of 1.5 with lots of negative feedback!!). Milos is very creative with how he's written his own e-textbook and YouTube videos. Gives helpful feedback too if you ask for it. :)
He is very nice and helpful, answers all questions, excellent explanation, cares about his students and clearly passionate about what he is doing. I Would defiantly take him again and I recommend him.
He takes things slow and makes sure that all the students are understanding the material. This is hard to find in an instructor. He never makes you feel dumb for asking a question. He is very knowledgeable. It's clear that he wants his students to succeed. The group projects can be intimidating, but if you make them fun, they will be fun.
I took MAT 217 online and it was actually much easier than I had expected. Milos has a great way of teaching this course online. He provides his own textbook that you don't have to pay for. There is quite a bit of assignments in this class, but they aren't very hard if you watch the videos weekly. 95% of the HW problems have video solutions also.
Great instructor. You do have to apply yourself to pass the class. Hand things in on time, the instructor is always available to contact. I would recommend him to anyone that struggles with math.
This is not an easy class, 75% of your grade comes from tests/quizzes. Milos makes you work for it but not in the Im out to get you way. He actually cares and wants you to learn. If this class is useful to you, take him. If you want an easier teacher, Im sure there are way better options.
This is a tough class for students because the material is challenging. It's important to note that this class will be tough no matter who teaches it. However, Milos is definitely knowledgeable about the material, which is hard to find. I recommend taking him because you will learn a lot about math proofs and logic from a caring professor.
Milos is very knowledgeable about diff eq. His teaching style is more conceptual rather than computational. It is completely possible to get an A in this course if you understand the concepts but maybe aren't super good at doing hard computations. Take him, it won't be overwhelming with messy algebra, and you will learn a lot.
One of the fundamental differences between calc 3 and the other calcs is that it's in 3 dimensions. I liked how he spent a lot of time in the beginning of the semester explaining the three dimensional system. If you've struggled with calc 3 before, or are nervous about 3d, take him because he explains it very clearly.
Milos is great; he definitely knows his stuff and encourages your questions. His lectures are upbeat, rely heavily on your participation, and emphasize more so on concepts than computations; this course personally felt like more of an engineering class rather than a math class. I wish I took more math courses with Milos and I highly recommend him!
Milos has figured out teaching math online better than anyone I've experienced. He wrote the text book, so it was free to use. Each lesson had Youtube videos. Each week there was a fun problem to discuss in the discussion board. There was one challenging group project. The tests weren't too difficult, yet covered everything.
Took this class at ASU (MAT275) and wasn't great at it. dropped the class to save my GPA. Took it over the summer with Milos and he made it easy to understand, even in a 5 week course.
Milos was my teacher for MAT 217 at Chandler Gilbert CC. This was my first online class. The messaging and other communications were mostly brief, about a days time from reply (business and work week). My average response time was approximately 24 hours. Pay attention to the headings, labels, and assignment work flow. Midterm and final score needed
Milos is my favorite of all math professors I have had. His explanations are clear and he is able to create visual representations of complicated formulas. This has made me realize how simple some of the ideas are that get hidden behind fancy symbols and notations. His teaching style focuses more on concepts.
Milos rocks, he's probably one of the best professors I've had the chance to work with at CGCC. He honestly made differential equations a breeze - almost my entire day one class made it to the end. He is helpful and friendly with clear materials, very clear lessons, and does not ask too much of you. 10/10 would totally have a class with him again!
I took Milos's online MAT122 class. His lecture videos were very easy to follow and all assignments/quizzes were identical to what you learned. He reinforced concepts in fun discussion boards where everyone had the chance to interact with each other. Great instructor!
First online course I have taken. I enrolled in Milos' class because of RMP reviews and boy was I thrilled! Milos could explain math to any living creature! He's very thorough in his explanations, more than any in class instructor I have had in past. If his class is available, enroll ASAP! You will not regret it.
EXCELLENT! EXCELLENT! I took online MAT217 and this was a breeze. He has a series of videos each week that help guide you for the homework. Did I mention answer keys are provided? Genius! I can actually check my work! Math teachers need to take notes. This guy is outteaching most professors through an online YouTube video. Best math prof at CGCC.
Amazing professor! Makes sure you understand the material without being overbearing.
Really enjoyed Milos teaching approach. He cared more about YOU learning than making sure you knew every point. He also let the class guide the direction of some topics based on interest. Do the HW and you get 100% make sure you understand your HW and quizzes and tests will go well. CGCC is lucky to have him!
Hes the best online math prof Ive had, he makes weekly lecture videos & also video solutions for every homework, for the midterm and final I suggest solving the Qs from the study guide and studying those the most. Every week you have homework, a discussion post, & every other week you also have 2 short quizzes- 1 mc and one free response quiz
Professor Podmanik is a knowledgeable and nice guy. He is able to relate the content in many different ways when you don't understand something. It is a tough class though. Things from the beginning of the semester tie into what you do at the end of the semester so be sure to keep up and practice.
Milos is phenomenal!!! He teaches a variety of math classes at CGCC. Take every class you possibly can with him! I took 2, and they were both excellent experiences. He really cares about student success and understanding. He doesnt make you do busy work, he wants you to firmly grasp the main concepts. Super nice guy and answers all questions.
Milos is one of the best teachers Ive ever had. Given the level of difficulty that one would expect from an upper division math course, he still finds ways to make the content easy to understand. Also, the quizzes are problems straight from the homework, so if you do the homework, youll ace the quizzes.
I saw many reviews for his online class with a great experience. Unfortunately, I don't have the same. If you don't understand or hate word problems, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. I thought this was going to be an extension of brief calculus it's everything but. Very hard to understand
Professor Podmanik genuinely cares about the learning of each of his students. He created his own personal textbook for the course and provides it to his students for free. Whenever I emailed him with a question, he responded within one hour and provided a detailed explanation - phenomenal teacher! Do yourself a favor and experience it firsthand.
Milos is a very kind and caring professor. There were a couple of instances where our class "dropped the ball" on a big assignment. He took the time to give a tough love pep talk, made us try again, and encouraged us to put our all into it. Sometimes that is all we need. Even though I may never see him again I kind of think of him as a friend.
Out of all my years of taking math this professor Has been the worst yet. First off if you get everything right on a quiz or test, he instantly assumes youre cheating and gives you a bad grade. Secondly, he gives about 50-60 questions of homework A WEEK! If you try to email him it takes about 4-5 days to respond even during this quarantine.
Ive been lucky enough to get some pretty great math professors... BUT Professor Milos is WORST PROFESSOR EVER! Do NOT take his class! He is 100% UNFAIR. Such a horrible experience with him. If you want to hate your life for a semester take this class. If you want enjoy life then just skip over him NOT WORTH YOUR TIME PERIOD. Swipe LEFT!
Milos' is a good teacher. Lectures are detailed with tons of effort put in. His quizzes sometimes can be a little difficult with them seemingly having material that wasn't specifically covered. The same goes for his tests. Very hard. Overall a good teacher, though.
This class was not easy in part because of everything being online. Each week there is a discussion board about a real world setting. I like how involved he is in answering questions by sometimes sending you a video explanation. I also like how he made all the video lessons instead of using ones already on youtube. You can tell he loves teaching.
I didn't know what to expect coming into an online class during the summer. Milos creates a positive learning environment by responding to questions quickly and creating his own content. you don't need to buy a book or any online codes. His lectures are kinda long but all the videos are extremely detailed and helpful. I really enjoyed this class.
Milos has been a really nice guy and great teacher. Online classes are more challenging for those of us used to going to campus. I have taken a number of these online classes and let me say that Milos goes far above and beyond to give us resources and extra personalized help. If you don't want to work independently then don't take online classes.
Mr. Podmanik is great. He responds to emails quickly. His videos are helpful. I will definitely be taking him again when I complete some of my other classes.
The WORST instructor I have ever had. Be prepared for quizzes with questions he never taught you how to solve. If you correct a mistake he makes he doesn't listen. He responds to emails but offers no guidance or help. I passed the class but in no way did it prepare me or teach me anything. I am very disappointed that I took this class with him.
I don't know if it was because the class is online or what but half of the material we were supposed to know how to do was missing in the pre-recorded lectures. Our quizzes and exams had questions we never once covered. The final exam was at least 85% of questions he never taught us how to solve. Find a different instructor or suffer a semester.
Ouch! I don't get the personal attacks below. I have had Milos for a number of courses in person. For what its worth you got to remember all classes are suddenly online. The hardest part is finding time to study and staying on schedule. Yes his tests are hard. Everything is covered in his videos. Take good notes and you will be fine.
This class was tough. Then again it was a summer class so any math class is going to be tough. Prof. Podmanik was always willing to help. We got weekly updates, digital office hours, free materials, and a lot of interesting material.
Milos' teaching style is fast and he likes to challenge you. His quizzes/tests don't match what he teaches. And its quite frustrating, that since I disliked his class, that I must be one of the students that got cheating. I was one of the students that was very thorough in homework and the discussion posts. I simply disliked his class. Get over it.
I took this class as a summer class and it was challenging (most summer classes are.) Milos provided quality videos that really helped me understand the material. Quizzes are tough if you dont do the homework or watch the lectures. But I studied and got an A so anyone can. Milos is a great and caring Professor I would recommend to anyone.
Milos is an amazing teacher. Great videos, office hours, and zoom meetings. This class was tough but we are able to use Wolfram to solve problems which is great! Ive already enrolled in another class with Milos for the fall semester. He definitely knows his stuff and seems to genuinely care about students learning. Looking forward to calc 3!
Im not sure what other people are complaining about, lol, its math, math is challenging. You have to study to do well. Prof. P is an amazing teacher. The quizzes and tests are very similar to homework and other assignments that are done in class. I watched the videos and did the homework and got an A.
First of all, I personally enjoyed the class. I read through some of the reviews a few people lashing out. The professor caught a group of people using Chegg to cheat on the midterm. Problem with that is when the answer is wrong so is everybody who cheated. Do your own work man. Good class though. Prof had zoom office hrs and responded to emails.
Great professor! Also, I'm assuming the people who left bad ratings are some of the ones who got caught cheating on the Midterms lol. Maybe just learn your lesson and move on? Milos was always quick to respond to emails, he provided Zoom meetings and weekly forum as a Q&A. Gave extra points on the midterm/final exam, really kind and caring.
My favorite professor I've ever had! You can tell he really cares about his students' success. He created his own textbook and gives it to all students for free, and he constantly goes out of his way to ensure he's available to answer questions. The class was not easy, but because of the amount of support provided by the professor, I loved it!
He is the best math teacher I have had in college. This includes ASU too. I took him for calc 3 and differential equations. He goes out of his way to make sure that no one is confused. He also is an excellent lecturer and breaks down more complex concepts into something understandable. The quizzes and tests come right from the homework. He is a gem
Milos is a very caring professor. He sends out little inspirational videos each week with a bit of humor. He means well, but his class is rough. There is an absurd amount of homework questions, weekly discussion board homeworks, and the quizzes are worth so much of your grade yet they are only 3-4 questions. Get 1 wrong and you are at a C or a D!
With all of my classes online, this has been the best one. Mr. Podmanik organizes the class really well and his videos are all self-made. He has video lessons followed by quick knowledge checks. He responds to emails with short videos. The class is not easy. Watching all the videos and doing the work is key to success. Mr. Podmanik is inspiring!
Professor Podmanik is caring and does a great job moving this class online. I took him before COVID. I really like his style. He has questions forums and responds to questions with videos. He has office hours online but I never needed them because he recorded videos to answer any questions I had.
I really liked the set up. The class was online. Prof. Podmanik's videos explaining material and personalized video messages helped me get through. Not all online classes are created equal and his makes the grade for what an online learning experience should look like. It's not an easy class but I definitely learned a lot! Thanks, Prof. Podmanik!
He is a thorough and helpful teacher. His weekly messages were truly motivational and human. The course was forced online due to Covid and I had major anxiety because of it, and almost dropped the class. Milos encouraged me to keep going and was available for tutoring when needed. Knowledgeable, compassionate and encouraging describe this professor
Easily in my top 5 favorite professors of all time. He honestly wants you to succeed and gives you all the tools necessary for success in the class! He encourages the use of technology and even has step by step instructions on how to use it properly. If you are not a fan of math then this is the professor you should have. 10/10 would take again.
Professor Podmanik is one of the hardest working professors that I have ever had the pleasure of taking a class with. Exams are not heavy in terms of problems, but are challenging, but not unreasonable. They are very much based on discussion questions as well as homework questions. He is also excellent at communicating with his students. Take HIM!
Prof. Podmanik is the best math instructor I've ever had. Extremely kind, inspiring, and passionate. He goes above and beyond for students. There is a fair amount of homework, but it will help you learn the material and prepare you for exams. Exams are challenging, but fair. Sign up for his class! You won't be disappointed. He is an absolute gem.
He is fun and energetic. There are assignments given throughout the week so make sure to finish ahead of time. Just put in your best effort and you will pass.
Great professor. You will get an easy A if you literally just watch the videos. Unfortunately I am quite the slacker.
I almost switched to a different Dif Eq professor when I saw that there was going to be discussion boards every week. But, I'm glad I didn't switch, the discussion boards actually really helped me to understand the material! He is an excellent professor, you can tell he knows the stuff and loves it, but he also teaches it extremely well too.
Prof. Podmanik has been the absolute best math professor I have ever had. I truly appreciate the time and attention to details he puts into his material. He paves the way for success, you just need to reach out to grab it. He is very inspirational. Paying attention to the material, practice and participation will give you success in his class!
Milos Podmanik is one of the best math professors I have ever had. He dedicates time to the lesson videos and makes sure it's clear enough to understand. He truly cares about his students and makes sure they understand the context. A plus, he does motivational videos every week, so that his students don't lose motivation during the course.
Mr. Podmamik is great instructor BUT his online class is tough. His video lectures are all over the place & noticed some are 3+ year old. By watching his video lectures won't help you with hw assignments you have to read the textbook and do your own research. If you struggle in math don't take his online class.
This was an 8 week course. By far the best math class I have taken. I heard how hard diffeq is from some friends taking it ASU. Milos made the content relatable and interesting. I had to miss class a time or two and he created really awesome videos that go through the entire lessons. He always has positive and uplifting words.
Loved this class! Prof. Podmanik records his own videos for lectures. He records videos in questions forums when we had questions about homework or quizzes. Would take again if I needed more math. He also sends out motivational video messages each week which I have never experienced before from a prof.
Milos is one of the best professors I've ever had. Articulate and passionate. His lectures are very easy to follow, and he gives weekly inspirational pep-talks. If you have a homework question, he will make a video of him explaining it and post it in the forum. He wants you to learn the material, and he'll work hard to make sure you do. AMAZING.
If the over 100+ 5/5 reviews don't convince you to take him, I don't know what will. Differential Equations is supposed to be a deathly subject, and he made it seem like cakewalk. I also had an amazing time taking his Linear Algebra class.
This is the guy you want for math classes! Very approachable, lectures are thorough, great professor/
His teaching style makes the topics super easy to understand, and you can tell that he is into what he does and cares about his students. Goes out of his way to make mid-week motivational videos, where he just talks about life and stuff. Highly recommend if you get the chance to take him.
Semester-long A to B on last exam! :-( Only 3 exams covering too many lessons, just 50 points ea. w/ minimal test material & focus beforehand, & SURPRISES! Minimal online videos disorganized, scribbled, unfocused, w/ errors fixed in video or not. Why do time-wasting feel-good counseling videos instead of more material for the class we paid for?
I am graduating this semester with my CS degree & Milo was hands down the best teacher I've ever had. He explains extremely difficult material with ease. He shows you exactly how to do the problems you will be doing for hw and those are on your quizzes. This is a hard class but he makes it as easy as possible. His motivational msgs got me through!
Professor Podmanik always greets us as we come through the door. His lessons are organized and to the point. Whenever I had to miss class due to work or kids I could watch his videos and feel caught up when I came back to class. He posts previous exams and video recaps to help you prepare for exams. These made exams pretty easy. Take him!
I have had lots of buddies at ASU tell me how miserable diff eq is. Taking it with Milos was the best decision! His videos are thorough and applied. The tests were reasonable and not too challenging. He goes above and beyond to answer questions with videos and video solutions when I needed them. I enjoyed his class. Too bad I'm done with math!
Loved this class! I'm not a mathematician, but the progression of the class felt like I was. Prof. Podmanik goes to great lengths to make materials available, to answer questions with video recordings, and to make himself present throughout the semester. He even sends weekly motivational messages. They helped get me through some tough times.
This was my 3rd time taking this class and it was the 7 week option so I was very worried going in. Milos made the class structure very manageable and provides great lecture videos, exam prep questions, and online resources to succeed. He is also very understanding if you have an issue come up and will work with you. Highly recommend.
Homework initially is very heavy but eases up after the first exam. Milos is a generous grader and doesn't deduct points for little things like I've experienced in less advanced math classes. He was very understanding and willing to extend deadlines to meet family emergencies I experienced while taking his class. 10/10 recommend.
Somewhat homework heavy and discussion questions are difficult. Generous grader, offers extra credit, and the problems from the discussion questions are graded on effort and completion; not if you got the answer right or wrong. He offers solution videos upon request for any issues with homework or quizzes. Will extend deadlines for emergencies.
By far the best math professor I've ever had. Let's you do test corrections, gives extra credit, posts weekly motivational messages, and all around just a kind soul. He's truly one of a kind.
He's a great professor and makes you feel welcome in his class. He's very approachable, caring, and motivational as well! Take this class with him and trust me; you'll be thankful you did!
Great professor. I would have never guessed how easily differential equations can be. It made my higher level classes so much easier by having a great understanding in diveq. The tests are difficult and the class is no joke. If you are considering this class, take it. Its great.
Professor Podmanik makes Differential Equations a breeze. Thorough videos, reasonable tests, and weekly motivational messages. Unstuck AI was a huge help for studying and practice.
Awesome guy, would definitely take his classes again
Milos is seriously the best math professor at CGCC, I had him for MAT 276 and 225 and every class was enjoyable. Don't even think about wasting your time at ASU, Milos will be your best option. Offers great feedback on everything, and made learning upper division math fun. Don't be freaked out by the 3 exams, if you do the hw you'll b fine.
Says he is understanding about personal circumstances, but when issues come up he isn't much help or very understanding as he said he was, just a fair warning
I failed this class at ASU and a friend told me to take it with Milos. He takes things that are complicated - or at least that my ASU professor made complicated - and explained them in really simple ways. His videos are excellent and he makes videos to answer questions. He is a super nice guy and is fun to talk to. I cannot recommend him more.
I really enjoyed the hybrid class. It was a good balance of lecture and board work which helped me to learn to apply the concepts. He has videos for when you miss class. I had to miss a few classes and he was very supportive. One of my favorite professors!
Professor Podmanik made diff eq's much easier than I expected. His videos are great and he doesn't require you to buy any books. He puts a lot of time into creating all the content we as students get. I really appreciated having everything put into his terms instead of having to use multiple books and outside resources that can be confusing. A++
He's a really great teacher. His textbook is great. Linear algebra is hard, but he is the best possible professor for it.
Has a well-put together course and is very accessible. Class content and lessons are produced by himself, and deadlines for assignments are very clear: providing generous grace periods and opportunities for makeup. Makes an otherwise obtuse subject very approachable, and I have much respect for him.
