never learned a thing in this class. Test1 + test2 + test3 + team study + site visit + final=FINAL GRADE! thats sums up the class.
He's so funny! He is very sarcastic. The class is a breeze. The tests are easy and the final is made up of all the tests from earlier in the semester! Very interesting.
Milton is the Sh--! He really made poli sci a fun & easy class, as well as understandable. He is a very intelligent guy who likes to have fun in class. Great discussions, + he tells you exactly what will be on the test. He's great!
Mr. Clarke is a good teacher. He's obviously very intersted in international relations and how politics effect the East Bay. Howerver, his in-class comments can create an unpleasant and sometimes uneasy atmosphere.
Great teacher. He keeps you interested with his comments. Tests are not hard you just have to read the material that he covers in class. Final is made from previous questions on test. Easy A if you can go to class and just listen to the discussion. Assignments are not bad either.

Milton is the MAN!!!!!!!!!!! the man always comes fitted in suits and whatever is in his cup must be ****JUICE! He always hides it so i wonder what is in it sometimes!!!! Dont make eye contact during class or he WILL call on you!
great and engaging teacher. Milton is a ****.

I thought the class was pretty cool. Also a lot of random conversations which is cool. But watch out cuz this guy PMS's, he can be cool one minute than a little jerk the next. But he's cool most of the time.
I think the class was easy, just 2 papers and 2 exams, this guy clarke wants you to talk, participate, talk**** ( but good****) and you'll be fine. There's a group presentation...anyways he's cool!

He's straight forward.. He doesn't beat around the bush and he's honest with you..
He's straight forward.. He doesn't beat around the bush and he's honest with you..
easy class. the answers are right in the book. he reads you the answers. anything that he makes you highlight in the book is going to be on the quiz and everything is straight from the book. many people don't get it. its so easy if you just highlight what he says from the book. he even points it out. hecka easy. hes a jerk too by the way, but if its not pointed at you then its mildly funny. just don't talk and be a dork and you'll be good
Staight to the point...I like that
My mentor; I am where I am today because of his guidance and help. After LMC I recieved a B.A. in History from the University of California, Berkeley and am now pursuing a M.A. in Politics at New York University, all because of him.

Really nice guy, he wants you to work hard which is good because you won't forget any information. He calls on his students A LOT, so you better pay attention. Ansers are in the book so follow along.
He is a great teacher. Quite funny. His discussions are show both sides. My favorite class.
i love that class. we are able to put our ideas forward and have them be heard. he's an awesome teacher, i love the way he speaks and makes things clear!! clarke is the coolest!!!
I have been going to LMC for some time now and Milton Clarke is one of the best teachers I've had. It was a pleasure being in his class.
Mr Clarke is an easy professor if you don't mind sarcastic remarks and feeling stupid sometimes. His tests are from the highlighted sections in your book. SO buy used. His final is cut and copied from your earlier tests so its really hard to fail
He is funny, but he makes you feel retarded in the middle of class. Easy pass class.
This is the funniest teacher I've ever had, and by far my fav thus far. His format is a little too easy he has a dark humor and sarcasm will make you look stupid if you dnt kno ur ****. Just pay attention and read a little ahead before class starts. I almost got kicked out of class a few times from laughing when he says INTERESTING. o dnt be late
Mr. Clarke... I dont know what to say. I learned a lot from him. He is challenging. Do the field report, write a letter to your congresmen/women you will get a C, listen to his lecture you will get a B, pay attention to his clues about the exam and study you will get an A. simple is that. the final is combination of previous exams. he is funny too.
Clarke is an awesome teacher, and if you find that to put things off this class just might help you in that area too. His class is straight forward. Give him and the time he spends teaching you the respect it deserves he will respect you. Don't be late. Read ahead before class and in class. When he says love this 4 short written question it will be

I have to say worst teacher ever, dont take him. Very unclear to exam dates, gets off track alot. have to go to class, he expects you to participate ALOT, if not he makes fun of you. dont be late, he makes fun of you too. His exams are hard but easy, and he sets you up for failure stating that you will never be able to study all of the material.
Professor Clarke is the best teacher I have had while attending LMC. He teaches very well and explains the material. Know your material or he will call you out on your BS. Don't piss him off with lateness and participate and its all good.
Professor Clarke is a great teacher, the best I ever had at LMC. He cares a lot about hi students, he's concerned about where you are going, wants you to suceed. He a stickler about your writing skills, whats people to write well, he pushes.
Mr. Clarke was an excellent teacher. I would highly recommend that you take him for Political Science. It is imperative that you have your textbook everyday, as he expects you to READ FROM THE BOOK; no exceptions on that. He is very poignant in his demands, which is a good thing, and gives you an outline of your grade to fill in yourself. =)
He is an easy teacher. just read the text book and study a little before the tests and you will do fine.
Not at all a helpful professor. There is a lot of off topic discussion, so you're left hanging for the test. Speaking of tests, there is no guidance as to what material will be on the test. If you love guess work, being randomly picked to read out of a book all class long, and are a fan of listening to others read out of the book for two hours, ple
As everyone has said you need to read the book. Don't BS him because he wrote the book--partially. You WILL be called out if he catches you not reading the book. The discussions are pretty good and he's a pretty cool guy--literally this guy speaks very calmly most of the time unless he's heated about something. Excellent professor.
The teacher's overall process in poor. There are 0 assignments to familiarize the material with, nor are there quiz's to see if we are comprehending the material. Just reading. Therefore, he is lacking in actually TEACHING. Grades are not accurate display of students comprehension or possible understandings.Only how much we can memorize from the text
You must study for the tests but even if you don't do good on the tests he gives enough easy points at the end of the semester to make sure you will at least get a C. Make sure you have THICK skin if you take him.
he picked on me to read every 10 minuts. no homework. but you must pass the tests. overall thiers only about 4 and the final. dont take it if ur bad at tests
Great Teacher. You MUST read the chapter before class. Make note cards out of what he tells you to high light and you will be fine. He will drop your lowest test score if you do the field study. Team study and letters to congressmen are super easy.
I did not care for his teaching method at all. Generally I am an excellent student and could not get a passing grade on any of his tests (yes, I did study). Granted it was a difficult semester for me. I finally had to drop from his class to save my GPA. On the up side he is passionate about his subject and makes a dry subject somewhat interesting.
Class was tough at first. no homework. you have to pay attention and HIGHLIGHT what he tells you in the book. study and you will pass. Do NOT cram for his exams. Take about four days before and study throughout the day
This teacher is hard because he forces you to think. Homework is only to read the text and be prepared, be it for discussion or test. Others must not be paying attention, because he clearly states what will be on the tests. He always dis an in class study guide, even saying "hint, hint" on test question answers. The work pays off; you'll learn much
He is pretty straight forward. The class is straight out of the book and so are the tests. If you show up to class and listen to what is going on you should do ok. Pay attention for his hits about short written questions for the test they are crushal to your grade!
He has a chip on his shoulder. Don't take him unless you like getting picked on. If you challenge him he will pick on you then you will do poor in his class. Horrible teaching strategy. Just don't take his class
I liked him a lot as a teacher. I liked his teaching style. It was very much straight forward, pay attention in class and highlight and also the short written questions are very important. Its a very much class discussion kind of class, so be prepared to discuss the topic when he calls on you, and this will be by your last name.
Great teacher. No homework. Everything is straight out of the book. Study and you will do fine. 4 Tests total plus a few assignments. Many opportunities for extra credit. Milt is awesome
Hard work, but a great teacher. Treats students like they have a brain, and like they should have an opinion of their own. Highly recommend, but not a class to coast through.
Professor Clarke was the best, the best college teacher I ever had. Smart, tough, uncompromising, totally dedicated to his students. What do I remember most about him? He made me feel smart, in class he asked - in the Socratic method, what my views were, he respected my views. He made me feel smart, like I was somebody, Never forget him.
Really good teacher! He is a good teacher for good students! If you are dumb and don't like to study don't take your class he may make you feel bad...hahaha! He gives hints on the test essay part and you have to do lots of reading! Wish I could take his class again!!!
Read the book before class because he calls on everyone. He will ask you to answer an extremely ambiguous question or an exact word from the book to the point that each person is guessing until someone finally gets it. do everything EXACTLY the way he instructs. He will not give you a study guide so just study every section you have highlighted.
Clarke is hard to understand. He teaches striaght from the book, but forms his questions using vague and unclear language. HIGHLIGHT what he points out, and make sure you STUDY the choices of essay questions! He has a fun personality but it's NOT a class to coast through! No hw but a few assignments, you really gotta read the book.
teaches directly from book. make sure you underline what is being lectured and be prepared to be called on if you dont know the answer the class has 3 chances if not you have to figure it out on your own. alot of reading must study for test and questions are not very clear. overall he challenges you and makes you work. good teacher
I do not like this guy at all. He has no respect, and he makes you feel stupid if you don't have the answer right when he picks you out of the crowd, even if you did read the chapters he assigned. His book that he claims he "co-wrote" is a joke. (his book has Extreme Boredom written all over it). Do Not take this instructor for Poli-Sci 10.
Read your book. Memorize your book. You do not have to understand anything you read. In class conversation will not be on a test unless it is a trick question. Read your book! Pay attention to the possible short written questions. Highlight those sentences, and memorize them. Read your book! The goal here is to memorize, forget about understanding.
Clarke is super cool. It did take me a while to get used to him, and the way he runs his class.. he's a little rough around the edgesJust make sure you read (and underline) the book and PAY ATTENTION in class!
Mr Clark is hardcore. He hates Shea's book.. but forces you to memorize it. I think it would work better if he used text he agreed with. The class is hard at first, but once you understand his teaching style it gets a bit easier. Do not fall for the "just underline sentences". Read everything at first or get a 20 on test #1
class may seem hard at first and clarke may seem blunt but overall one of the best professors ive had at LMC I learned so much :)
This teacher is based on the text book. He not very helpful. You do a lot of highlighting but whatever you highlight is what is going to be on the tests. The tests are not easy so make sure you study the material. As long as you come to class, highlight, do the test and do the extra credit, you should pass with a B.
Clarke is blunt to say the least; however, impeccably accurate. He has devised mechanisms to see whether students have or have not completed homework (the reading assignments). While I put forth a lot of effort for his class, I loved the class. He was incredibly funny. If you take the time to seek his help he is more than willing to do what he can.
I took him summer so there was too much information to take in a fast phase. It is recommended that you have read the material before going to class. If not, you can still survive his rotations by just following the discussion with the book. He is very loyal to his book, so never ever go to class without the book. Everything is there. I got an A!
He is a fantastic teacher! I loved his class most of all. He basically tells everyone the answers to the exams. I texted, slept and talked most of the class and still got a high A in that class. He is there for ALL of his students in and out of class, and no question is a stupid one. Very respectful, caring, and mellow. Offers alot of E.C. EASY A!
He is a very good teacher. He forces you to really think about things. Everything you need to know is IN THE BOOK. Highlight what he tells you to highlight and you'll do fine on your tests. People are scared of him because he's blunt, but you'll learn to appreciate it when you have an A in the class.
Not very helpful
Clarke is a cool person but a tough teacher. Everything is straight from the book, know the book inside and out and you will do well on tests. This class is really hard at first, but stick with it. I got an A! There are extra credit opportunities and he basically gave us the final. Don't take anything he says personally. Cool teacher
Make sure to get the right textbook and highlight and read everything you go over in class. He offers a couple of extra credit opportunities towards the end.
Clarke is awesome! Don't let his appearance and monotone fool you. He's quite funny and knows his stuff. He does expect you to read your assigned chapter before class, it helps to do so. Make sure you have plenty of highlighters!
At first he seems intimidating & mean , but if you stay in his class he warms up to you & is actually a pretty funny guy.he knows his stuff & you are expected to read the book.stay on track or else you will fail. YOU MUST BUY THE BOOK! He also give you extra assg.so you can pass his class. Overall im glad i stayed and i learned alot from him.
Clarke is a very nice professor who runs a tight classroom. He does take roll at the begin of most every class and he won't put up with slackers. He engages everyone in his lectures so you better be paying attention. Read the book, make study notes for his short essay questions, and study those ALWAYS. He gives extra credit so take advantage.
Mr Clarke is an awesome teacher. He is tough, straight forward and doesn't take crap from students. Once you get to know him he is quite funny. He made the class interesting and easy to understand. He is a bid text book fan so be prepared to read it before you come to class. Although we had different political views he respected my views.
Easy class as long as you READ the textbook. He WILL call on you to participate. Even though I got a 40 on the first exam I managed to get an A b/c he gives extra credit opportunities. Highlight the things he tells you to b/c those WILL BE on the exams. His final is easier than his exams. It will help you greatly to form a study group also.
I think this class is totally worth taking! He is actually pretty funny. no reason to be aftaid of him. Make sure to highlight and READ THE BOOK. Big on participation and book use. Honestly, just study. I ended up getting 53-57 out of 75 point tests and did extra credit. i passed w an A. He basically lets you choose whats on your final.
Basically do field study and get ok grades on tests don't miss class and study for final. He's very intimidating he's kinda rude. Calls a lot on people. Overall not bad but if you don't like to read take another teacher because you need to read the book and write down short written questions he gives
BUY THE TEXTBOOK and actually read it! That's the best advice I can give for this teacher. Basically you go over the book together through out the class. Keep all your tests because he just takes questions off that for the final. Don't be intimidated by him, he's actually nice and will clarify your questions for you if you just ask.
I didn't think I was going to survive since I avoid anything that deals with politics at all costs. Hard teacher, but everything is given to you. It's up to you to do the reading (ahead) and really pay attention in class. TAKE NOTES and STUDY!!!
Best teacher I've ever had. Thorough & really wants you to learn. You can tell he's really into his job. Read the book, come to class, participate, & do field study. He's very sarcastic & calls on you randomly, if you don't like that dont take Clarke. Best class I've taken at LMC.
I was weary about going into this class. I only took it for the transfer requirements. He is an alright teacher. He can be a bit strict and be rude when no one understands the material. But overall with the field study and extra credit he offers, the class is almost impossible to fail in. Just be a student and you'll pass.
Absolutely awesome teacher doesn't put with bs which I appreciate because I dont go to class to listen to other peoples mouths run because they want attention. He literally hands you the final on a silver platter...show up to class participate take notes on the "1 in 5's" study for those and its almost hard to get anything less than an A.
Yes he calls on people a lot, but that gets you paying attention so you can do well on the final and tests. he gives you every question and the answer that can be on the final and tests. there is a lot of book work but bring a highlighter and a notebook and you'll be fine.
High school-type teacher as far as strictness, no phones out, etc. May come off as strict or rude but is very funny and easygoing the more the class goes on. If you do the team study and letter writing assignments he gives automatic 100% on them just for completion, and he gives a ton of extra credit throughout the semester. Make sure to do it!
I love him as a teacher. You really need to work hard and you REALLY need the book. Studying is required and lots of extra credit it offered. His class is not easy, but if you go and take good notes you should be fine. Also, pay attention. He will call on you and if no one knows the answer he won't tell you. Keep up to date and you'll do just fine.
Awesome class! MUST BUY book and read. Be prepared to be called on. Mr. Clarke appears stuffy, but he's not. Knows his stuff and teaches in a non-biased fashion, which I loved. Interesting class discussions that reinforce the topic. He sets you up to succeed, and you have to do your part. Not an easy A, but doable if you put the effort in.
Great class. BUY the book, you will fail without it. Clarke tells you exactly what to study, and highlights the sections along with you to focus on them. I've never liked Political Science, but Clarke made it very manageable. Attend class, buy the book, pay attention.
Clarke comes off as sarcastic. However his class is interesting, you will learn about politics in this class like it or not. Get the book(the first class that you really use the book you pay all that $ for) read what you highlight in class, no note taking required. Do ALL the extra credit you should get an A, even if all your test aren't perfect.
Come to class prepared, and you must have a book so important! Take notes, everything Mr. Clarke lectures will be on his tests. Do the extra credit and you will pass the class.
Clarke can be rude, too rude. Often he would make quirk comments on others if you dont answer quickly or correctly. Always have your book with you at all times. Do the extra credit assignments, study for the exams, do the field study in case of low test scores and you should do fine. ALWAYS READ THE HIGHLIGHTED NOTES!!!
This professor is indignantly self-righteous about political science. That is NOT to say he is a bad professor. In-fact, I find him to be one of the best instructors I have ever known. Sarcastic? Yes! Deliberately scornful at times? Maybe! Clarke does not appreciate BS, or pseudo-intelligence. He respects facts! Always... Read the text!!!
I admit I was nervous about taking this class because of the comments about him being strict and calling on people. But he is a pretty great teacher I must say. Just come to class and take notes. Everything is on the book so it is important to get one although it is expensive. And read in advance to be ready when he calls on you.
Buy book, show up, and read book. Straight forward class, nothing too difficult, no homework except reading. Mr. Clarke is cocky, but don't let that scare you. He is super cool and extremely knowledgeable. Opportunity for extra credit, plus a field study assignment that can replace lowest test grade. EASY final. Commit & you can get an A!
This class is basically all about memorization. if you arent good at memorizing then you probably shouldnt take this class. DO THE FIELD STUDY! Theres no way you wont get an A if you do all the extra credit and field study. The final is hella easy and the field study is to. Clarke is kind of rude but the class is easy.
You need to just be organized, willing to participate, and read the textbook. If you do that, you should pass! He is sarcastic and very funny, the class usually has a great time with him.
Well throughout this class, this instructed became mor and more sarcastic when talking to students. He is very unapproachable and intimidating; he makes it seem as if you aren't supposed to ask questions. His teaching skills are very hardcore and he is overly stern, talking to students very rudely.
Prof Clark is awesome. He keeps the students involved. Expects the students to stay involved and if you dont raise your hand, he will eventually randomly call on you. He uses the book a lot and it is well worth it. He wants all his students to succeed. He tells you what to expect on the test and what will be on it.
He lets class pick the possible questions on the test. Literally all you have to do is show up w book & take notes and then memorize a few main ideas for the test. He gives tons of extra credit and no homework. He is hilarious. And with the idiots he gets in his class, he is super patient. He even tells you what M.C questions will be on the test.
Prof. Clarke is a cool guy. He takes attendance Daily! Extra credit also depends on perfect attendance so don't miss a class! Lectures are straightforward: he presents a topic question and we proceed to read and answer the questions. The questions and answers from class are literally what the exams are! Fun class, never boring. Read ahead!
This class was not hard. There are three 75 point tests, three other major assignments to do, and a final. If you know how to study, then you'll be fine. There is not homework, just to read the book. My problem was I did not study in enough time and there was a lot of info to study.
Very easy. People on here made it sound scary. I passed with flying colors and got an A . He's intimidating at first and he loves to be a smart ass but he's over all cool .
The class is easy with the book and if you study & read. I failed all 3 test but I went to class and I did the extra credit assignments. I was able to get an A on the final. Passed the class with a B. He's kind of rude but he means well. He was kind of confusing explaining certain assignments
Straight forward. Mr. Clarke only focuses on the textbook. Get ready to crack the book every class and highlight everything. He tells you everything that will be on the exams plus more. I barely studied and got C'sD's on exams, did well on the assignmentsgroup project, and studiedaced the final exam. I finished the class with a B. Pay attention!
Don't let his suit swagger fool you, he's a cool guy. I enjoyed his class because as long as you kept up with the readings and went to class, it was enjoyable. The tests were easy as long as you studied. Speaking about politics in class was fun, he makes it comfortable and keeps the environment neutral.
Funny/nice guy. He tells it how it is so you need thick skin. Lecture structure is him going over a chapter by calling on ppl & asking questions that will all be on the tests. So, easy class to pass if you attend. Fast paced, keeps you on your toes. Lots of note taking. He shares his political viewpoints but debates are always respectful!
THIS CLASS WAS SOOOOO EASY! Even Clarke said himself that "even bobo the chimp can pass this class". He gives out ridiculous amounts of extra credit, and literally gives you the answers to all the tests. DO NOT LET HIS SUIT AND ATTITUDE INTIMIDATE YOU ON THE FIRST DAY. He is truly a hilarious and chill guy. If you get below an A, DROP OUT NOW!
He clear on what he expects and you get out what you put in
This teacher was easy and as clear as could be. Although its easy you actually learn things and he encourages to ask questions. A lot of people think he's rude but he just has a dry sense of humor, which i find hilarious. If you pay attention in class and take notes you will pass. Theres no homework, easy, fun class.
Such a great teacher! Went into this class thinking id hate it but ended up learning more then any other class I've taken so far! Don't miss any classes cause it's a huge participation class and bring book every single day. You'll deff get your money's worth. Clarke may seem rude and strict, but he's actually super funny!
No homework given at all, just one project at the end of the semester, only 3 tests and he gives you the questions that are chosen by the students. Great sense of humor, take his class seriously and he will respect you.
Awesome teacher. He literally gives you the questions and answers for the exams. There's 3 exams and a group presentation. No homework. Don't miss class or forget your textbook. The book is a must have towards passing the class.
Clarke is Awesome. The class is so easy. There are 4 tests including the final, letter writing project, and a Team study. No Homework. Gives a fair amount of extra credit including a optional field study which he will substitute lowest test score if you do it. He may seem intimidating at first & can often be sassy, but don't be fooled.
hes great
Professor Clarke is awesome! He is by far my favorite teacher on campus. He made the class a lot of fun and he would always connect with students one on one. He is always in his office, so be sure to use those office hours if you need clarification. PLEASE BUY THE BOOK! You'll need it as well as a highlighter!
Professor Clarke is amazing. No homeowrk and you have 3 test and one final test but you get to choose your questions to study for and the final is all the test combined into one final test so keep those tests.
He's alright, a bit rude and condescending when you ask a legitimate question but besides that he's okay.
the class gets to pick their own questions for each exam. so easy. flashcards will definitely be the ticket to passing.
One of my favorite professors at LMC! Definitely recommend. He asks questions and picks on students randomly. Before the tests, the class goes over what questions they want to be on it. Tests are super straight forward. Gives the answers to questions, you just have to remember. There are some times where he offers extra credit, but not really.
You had to buy the $120 textbook which was looseleaf so it wasn't refundable. He has a certain teaching style that you will recognize and get used to very easily. Tests are fairly easy but multiple choice on it is tricky. Sarcastic guy who will call you out when you're late to class but pretty chill dude.
He's sarcastic and condescending. Beyond that he lets you pick your test questions for the test. Be sure to keep all of the tests he hands back because the final will be the reflection of the previous tests.
Really engaging in class, creates class discussions based on topics in the textbook and relates it to real life. You need to be constantly reading in class because he calls on people, but makes you feel accomplished when you get a question right. Allows for class voting for which questions will be on the test. Funny. Highly recommend, you learn.
His tests are based off your ability to memorize the notes. He gives you all the notes which makes it sorta easy but you have to put time in to memorize the material. Read the chapters and get some flash cards you'll do just fine.
Yes, Mr. Clarke can be sarcastic but he has a heart under that tough shell. He very reasonable and understanding Just don't ask him question in front of the class ask him in his office. NO HOMEWORK, PICK YOUR TEST QUESTIONS, PICK YOUR FINAL QUESTIONS, MUST PURCHASE YOUR BOOK..... EASY A!!!
He is super condescending and rude. He will pick on students if they do not understand the material or if they do not have the textbook. The lectures are just reading straight out of the textbook, so learning the material is out of the picture. I passed but I would not take him again.
His class involved having to memorize things and if you want to "look good", be sure to participate. His midterms aren't terrible. You def need the book! Buy a used book if possible.
There is no way anyone should not earn the grade they want in his class. He goes over the material with painstaking detail and emphasizes the fact you must rely on the textbook. He will call on youu because he ex-ects you to be able to find and address the material, and he puts you in a position to LEARN.
Do not take if you are a DSPS student! As a person he is pretty chill and fun. He does not work well with anyone that needs accommodations. If that isn't an issue for you, then this class might be for you. He does spend the entire semester preparing everyone for exams. No homework, and like 2 projects. Offers extra credit.
He is such a mean person. He calls out people if they do not understand the material. You will need your textbook or he will make fun of you in front of everyone in the class for not having it. He is a bully so expect that from him and know how to defend yourself verbally.
His grading is straight to the point, he is easy to pass if you actually take the time to study for the midterms & final. He lets you pick the questions for all exams even the final so passing his class is not hard. You do need the book & yes he calls on you to answer the questions he asks & if you get a used book your life will be much easier.
Great teacher. He challenges his students, but ionly because he wants them to put thought into their answers. Goes over exam material with each class. There is no reason why anyone can't earn a B or higher.
Clarke was great! If you show up to class there is no reason you should not pass with a B or better. Uses the textbook very closely so you'll need that. He gives you EVERYTHING you need for the exams in class. He even lets the class pick what questions are on it. Study for the tests, show up to class and you'll pass. Oh and no homework assignments.
This was one of the easiest classes I've taken. If you show up, pay attention, and take notes, there's no reason not to pass. You do have to be alert during lectures or else you will miss important information and he will call you out. The few tests dictate your whole grade, but you basically just have to memorize the information for the chosen ?
His class is easy and sticks to the schedule, he clearly outlines everything you need to know, just write it down. Bring you book to every class and highlight anything he says. The lectures are not interesting but it is an easy class to pass for GE credit
Clarke is blunt and to the point. Come to class, highlight the material, study you will pass the class. He not trying to trick you or take you out the box, stick to what he tells you to focus on and you will be fine. YOU NEED THE BOOK it will definitely be used. I can't stress this enough engage in the conversation and ask questions!
Clarke is literally the easiest professor at LMC. his class is probably the easiest class I have ever taken. show up, highlight what he says, and you'll get an A on the tests. he literally has you pick what's going to be on the test.
No homework just three tests and the final. You know what the open response questions are beforehand. Very clear about what he expects. Super funny. Will give you extra help if you talk to him. GET THE BOOK! I wish he taught more classes because he's an amazing teacher.
Clarke makes this class really easy to pass, just pay attention in class and highlight exactly what he tells you in the textbook. You ABSOLUTELY NEED THE TEXTBOOK for this class!!! You will not be able to follow along without it. Besides studying for the exams, he doesnt give any homework. Sarcastic at times, but overall a great instructor.
He's sometimes rude, but come to class with your textbook and notes. YOU NEED TO READ THE TEXTBOOK. PERIOD. He goes around the round and makes you answer his questions. Come ready and mentally prepared. One thing I don't like is, it doesn't feel like a safe space. IDC if you're a liberal or conservatives we should talk respectfully.
His class is very easy , You'll definitely need the book , go to every class read and highlight what he says to , there's 3 quiz's and the final , no homework .
Good professor he really does care about the subject matter and his students. Be ready to be called on following along is huge. The book is a must also he gives you exactly what is needed to be studied for the test so there is no way you should fail unless by your own doing.
Clarke is a great professor. I found his class very interesting and enjoyable. As long as you show up, pay attention, and study, you'll pass without a doubt.
He's funny in his own way. Very interactive class but he's very passive aggressive. He'll be very sarcastic one minute and very accommodating the next. He comes off disrespectful. Overall. The interaction is a plus but the learning type is not for everybody. You can't put in your own words which made studying hard. He wants VERBATIM for exams.
I was very hesitant to talk Polsc-010 after reading reviews, but I am so glad that I was able to take it with Clarke! I feel as though he is a very misunderstood and underrated professor! He genuinely wants everyone to do well, but he also wants you to earn your grade! He can be sarcastic, but he knows when to stop and is not ill-intentioned.
Mr. Clarke is super sarcastic, so if you're sensitive this class is not for you. Be prepared and make sure you have your book for every class or he will call you out. There are three major tests throughout the semester, a letter writing assignment and group project. He is tough but also wants you to succeed. One of my favorite classes.
While I got an average grade for the course, it was also my fault. Clarke is a sarcastic softie that genuinely cares for his students and their success. You do have to bring your book every day to class because the answers to the exam are all that he tells you to remember/underline. He has a group exam that is lots of extra credit points.
Very stern man but very much to the point. Youll never be confused. Just dont fall behind or you spend all semester catching up.
Seems like cool intellectual guy. If U take it virtually, he will post a powerpoint presentation, you view it and follow along with your book, then respond to discussion board. Sometimes you are left with questions for homework but overall gives good feedback. Quizzes contain some simple questions but also some confusing ones. Shares cool facts.
I took this class online. Grading style is super confusing, all the quizzes were made known a day before with the due date being in the afternoon. very vague with instructions. quizzes are open book but tend to have vague questions. provides power points to study off. no zoom meetings. overall did not seem knowledgeable using canvas.
very hard to understand at times, i bought the exact book in the syllabus and there was several tests on chapters that were not included in the book. directions pretty unclear. there are 16 focused research projects worth 10 points each extra credit so you can easily get an A.
you are given notice for tests a day beforehand, and if you are somehow unable to make a singular test like I have it pretty much bombs your grade. I went from a 94% to a 73% and couldn't raise it again all semester.
Clarkes class was pretty easy as long as you show up and pay attention. Hes got a funny attitude too! I enjoy his class a lot.
gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. to sum it up all you have to do is discussions and tests along with 1 project at the end of the semester. although he wasnt clear with his instructions & when you ask him he doesnt even answer it, he restates what he said previously. overall ok Professor. recommend finding someone better though.
Would not take this professor again. He posts is assignments with not enough time to do them. He posts exams with only a day in advanced and gives you only 11 hrs to complete it.
The professor is pretty easy if you do the work youll pass. Although I would say his discussion posts close to early around 1pm made it difficult bc of work and other things. Gives extra credit opportunities though he doesnt clearly answer your questions when asked. He seems chill though. The work is light to moderate.
Professor Clarke was very engaging and made the weekly discussions fun to participate in. Workload was not too overwhelming. Everything is taught through lectures and textbook readings. Quizzes and tests all rely on information in the textbook (these are open-book as well). Professor gave helpful and clear feedback on all assignments.
Professor Clarke is very hilarious. Would definitely take this professor again. You do have to participate in class and look over the assigned reading, but just do your best. Professor Clarke is one of the least biased professors when it comes to political science and accepts all points of view. He doesn't judge anyone and makes the class fun.
Laid back professor. Responds to emails fast. Six quizzes (25 MCQ) and 65 MCQ final. Long lectures that can get boring. Sometimes questions on the quizzes are worded confusing compared to the notes. Discussion post are 3 sentence minimum and it is not required to respond to peers which is nice. Not a lot of work, I would take him again if I had to.
Professor Clark was one of my favorite classes last semester, he made the class interesting and fun to learn. Tests are easy but the written portion usually got me grade wise due to the rubric which you have to be very keen on. overall good class and professor I would take again.
Coolest down to earth professors
He was a funny professor and made a lot of light hearted jokes. Attendance is mandatory because if you miss even one class you get behind on the reading which will make taking the tests very difficult. If you follow along in the textbook and highlight what he tell you to, and do all the assignments (which is very few) you'll easily pass the class.
Professor Clarke keeps the class entertaining with his witty humor, but don't let that fool you - attendance is mandatory, and doing the readings is crucial to succeed. Supplement your studies with unstuck ai and other resources to ace this course.
Very chill teacher, he was impressed with how much I knew about politics and that made the class fairly easy for me. Attendence is key to passing this class but the workload isn't too heavy. Does require a large textbook.
