He never really seems sure of what he's trying to teach. he seems to wander off where he wants and doesn't really have a concept of what's going on, but he knows what chapter everything is in the book. He doesn't seem too harsh a grader.
The guy wants answers exactly as he thinks of them. any slight variation from that and he will laugh at you and give the haha uuuum no statment of death
His multiple choice tests are difficult but he is willing to work with you to improve your grade. His lectures are a little long but his classes are otherwise bearable.
Although only spending one semester with professor gittens, I found him to be very one sided in his lectures. and for some reason he was the only one that got what he was teaching because he was the only one that would laugh at his jokes! Thug & Bug Playa
he has the same method of teaching from year to year. he is kinda boring prof.
typical liberal and one-sided in lectures, BUT LET THE OTHER SIDE BE HEARD...just be ready to back up what you say...I did, and literally got applauded in class. Extra credit is avail to improve grades cool
Gittens is very strict about his essays. He pretty much wants you to regurgitate what he says in class onto your blue book. It helps if you underline important parts in the essay. He is very liberal and one-sided...Republicans beware of this teacher!
I had Prof Gittons the fall of 01 semester. He taugh his classes so openmindedly. Since that was a difficult semester for all because of 9/11 he really took the time to talk to all of his students and still focused on teaching. It was a great exoerience.
Insomniacs should consider taking him cuz I've never been able to fall asleep as easily as i did in his class, but other than that he's a fairly easy grader...kinda recommended

Professor Gittens is a great teacher. He is a fair grader. His midterm and final are essay which allows you to really explain your thoughts, ideas, and understanding of the readings and in class discussions. I recommend Gittens for any business class.

Ok the trick to Gittens...You have to give him KEY words!! He wants you to put in your essay the KEY words from the readings and such...I thought he was easy and nice. I took him for 3 classes and did well in all of them!!!

Very informative class. If you keep up with the readings and ask/answer questions, you should have no problem. Essays for midterm and final, but again, if you read you'll do fine.
He is a fair teacher. Classes can be a little boring, but he wants you to do well. He gives you the essays questions weeks in advance and tells you what chapter wach question is from.
This is possibly one of the most boring friggin classes i have ever taken and good old Milty blows at teaching it. He just drones on and on about absolutely nothing and stops periodically to giggle at himself like he's funny. Don't recomend going stoned.
He doesn't care about teaching the class, seems very disinterested. His tests are hard but the only other thing besides the tests is a presentation.
Tests are pretty much all essay, so you just have to show that you understand everything. Likes to poke fun at students who try to be smart but unintentionally embarass themselves.

I'm sorry to say, but reverse discrimination takes place in his class. Besides that, he is not all that bad, just with the grades, they reflect his "opinion" of you, rather than what you deserve.
Gittens is a great teacher... He loves participation and your interesting the subject matter. Just doing the reading and take notes you will get a decent grade.... GITTENS!!!! He is Great!

I learned so much and did not stress myself out. His discussions in class are interesting and fun if you participate. NOTE:If you participate every day you are GOLD!. Easy Tests, but a massive amount of material to study. Take Him!
Its like funneling beer, atfirst you think theres alot of work, but once it gets moveing there is nothing. His test are tough and worded weird, but he curves. Don't bother w/ the readings

My favorite professor ever. If you raise your hand to participate you are guarenteed an A or B. Definetly need the book for studying. He lets us out early all the time. down to earth and easy to approach. Project is simple and tests are multiple choice with essays he gives ahead of time. Love him

Gittens is a real cool guy. If you show up and participate you are going to get a good grade. His tests are multiple choice and essay, but they are straight-forward. He gives you the essay questions ahead of time. If you study you will do fine. I recommend him highly.
His class is very fun. Does not really teach wut u need to know but it is more interesting anyway. also, his tests are right from the textbooks so just study those. He is awesome, take him.
very boring. does not teach what you should know. sometimes you ask yourself if he knows the material? Nice guy, but needs to stay away from the text. Should inject some of his own knowledge pertaining to the material.

I HATE GITTENS.He doesnt even know what he teaches,and makes up his own concepts.Took me a week to memorize his essay midterm&final,which also has mult choice;the avg grade was 71!PARTICIPATE AND U GET AN A.u also do a presentation where he embarasses u and he randomly grades the essay midterm&final
Cool professor!! Yes tests are hard.. essays and multiple choice.. but as long as you PARTICIPATE and show up to class.. you are guaranteed an A.. strongly recomend to take him if you like to participate in class!!
Gittens is cool. Like jazz sax in a smokey nightclub cool. If you participate and make a general attempt to study for the tests (which are hard but you just have to do better then everyone else to get the A)and work on the presentation you'll get an A for the class. His gradeing is subjective and you can negotiate your grade at the end of the class
Having personal good morality but unfair preference. His teaching focuses on general idea, he can not teach real mgmt because he never has business experience. Easy to get A or better grade but you do not learn business from him at all.

PARTICIPATE. His multiple choice tests are kinda hard, but as long as you read the book you will do alright. Keep up with the readings otherwise you will have no idea what is going on. Good guy, and PARTICIPATE, PARTICIPATE, PARTICIPATE.
you gotta suck up to this guy, PARTICIPATE, you can even bs just make sure you give your input.... hw is only readings, down to earth easy grader, lets out early most of the time!!

this guy does not know how to teach. class is completely pointless. he reads word for word off of his powerepoint slides and that's the class! boring as hell. no homework ever. only midterm and final, which are extremely hard. take someone easier and not so boring.
Good Professor!! Take him if u want to pass. His test are a little difficult but anyone can pass the class as long as u participate. If you feel like you are falling behind, do Extra Credit and u should be fine.
He is great. Grades on a nice curve, lets the class get into topic changing intellectual discussions, and provides all the information you need. Only downfall are his multiple choice exams which are very hard. All the answers are so similar it is hard to chose which one is right.
I loved him. his classes were kinda boring but we did go over some interesting topics. he is a great teacher and as long and you go to his class you will do great. the key is to participate he loves those that participate. the mc tests are impossible but the essays are easy. offers extra credit. great class/ teacher

Class is boring, hard to take notes cause he goes through the slides so quickly, if you make a comment and don't agree with him, he makes you feel like you are an idiot, multiple choice on test was hard, essays weren't too bad if you really know the material

I don't know what to say...no idea what happened in this course. He just made up grades at the end of the semester. No clue as to how you were going to do. Tests were rediculous and so were the curves. Class was with out a doubt the dumbest one I have EVER been FORCED to take in my life. Completely USELESS. It goes over eveything you already know.
nice guy. always wore expensive suites. Class isnt overly challenging but hes big on participation. His lectures are kind of boring and he goes through the PP slides too quickly. Read the book, raise you hand and show up and you'll do great.

He is very fair and loves students that participate and attend class. His lectures can be boring and he goes through his lecture slides VERY quickly so you have to go through the chapters. Tests will be hard if you don't. But if you do extra credit, answer questions in class and show him you're trying, you will do fine.
Doesn't hit the mark. Covers concepts/theories, but we don't have real cases to apply them to. He needs to require cases in his course and ditch the presentations. Who wants to hear students review concepts from the book. Best thing he can do is drop present. and focus on cases and real situations. Drop essays, add cases to exams. Enough said.
He has boring lectures, and its obvious he favors black kids. Participate, and he will like you, but again not as much as the black kids. Has made critical historical and factual errors. Real liberal views, arrogant, but not rightfully so.
Worste class I have this simester. Flies thrugh the slides so theres no point in coming to class. Talks quietly and then challenges you EVERYTIME you try to answer a question. He is black and covers slavery way to much. Don't take him unless you have to. And if you have to take him read the book and know concepts.
worst class i have this semester. goes through all the powerpoints way too fast. boring. and if you participate its good but he still says you're wrong with whatever you say. don't take him if you can get around it
This professor cannot teach without his PowerPoint presentations. He is completely useless to learning the class. He just goes over and regurgitates the reading material in the book. In PowerPoint. He is never satisfied with your participation in class. Tests are vague and confusing, unless you know the material verbatim from the book.
one word to describe the class: awful. the man takes a boring class and some how makes it worse. it was like pulling teeth getting through each of his long power points. he rushes through all of them and demands a lot of participation. if you get it wrong, he makes you feel stupid. tests were all but impossible and i would not recomend at all
spring will be my 3rd time taking him and he is as useless as anything. just entertain yourself long enough to get thru class, and just study from the textbook, dont even bother attempting to take notes from the ppt cause its too much and too fast. participate once in a while, show up to class, he curves. i dont know anyone that has failed.

had for 3 classes. did horrible on multiple choice- choose an answer out of 4 that all sound correct... give u possible essays-study those essays like its the only thing on the test! if u do well on the essays, he'll give you that grade (or pretty close to it) use concepts from the book. has a sign in sheet, so make friends and skip!
I was considering picking up a business minor, but then I took his class.
perspecitives-boring class-bring your computer-everyone in class failed all the exams (3) but he curves them-essays on the last 2 exams-gives you questions weeks in advance study them and do amazing on them and youll be fine-must participate in class -i participated-did awesome on essays-failed multiple choice exams and still got an A
Very nice guy, class is boring. Only thing I didn't like was he would ask a question you would answer, he would say no, then 5 more people answer and it finally gets back to what you said to start with. Tests are ridiculously hard. Do good on the essays, and participate.
The tests are impossible for Perspectives in Business and Society. He is a very nice man but ONLY reads from power points. I studied for countless hours to only get D's on tests. He loves the students who give great effort and participate and rewards them but I'd avoid him!
The greatest man I ever knew. Very tough personality, but if you listen to him, it helps in the long run.
