Without a doubt one of the best math teachers I have ever encountered. She definitely requires that you put your time in for the class, but is always available to answer any questions. Recommended highly for any math that she is teaching.

even though she gave out so much work and it had to be turned in at the beginning of the week it really did help me a lot. if anyone is planning to take math i suggest you take mimi. she's very helpful!!!

Mimi is awesome. But she will notice if you skip, and she will hold it against you. Sit in front, pay attention, ask lots of questions. She really does want you to understand. And print your work neatly! She likes that.

Mimi is a very structured and outgoing teacher. If you dont understand then ask and she is pleased to help. I got a 3.8 but I understand math well. If you need structure, homework and weekly quizzes then this is the class for you.

Before i took this class, i hate statistics so much because i had no idea with what statictics is. She single handedly changed my mind, as she explains all the stuff clearly. Futher, her quizes and exams are quite straight forward. If you are willing to put the effort and time on doing the homework, i think it is easy to get high grade from her!

I would have to say one of the best math teachers I have ever had. The material is tough and there is alot of homework, but Mimi seems very very patient to help give students a hand when they need it. Awesome !

Very finicky, very concerned with the students following her special rules for notation, etc. If you follow her rules, she's a sweetheart. If not, you'll hate life. Fun lecturer, good sense of humor and very clear.

She is a great teacher!! very funny and always answered your questions if you didn't understand. She will not baby you like most students would like so if you need help you have to go to her. She is very helpful and explains how all problems in your text could be used in your every day life!

Mimi is the type of instructor that, when you go on to higher math levels, you wish you could take classes from again. She explains things in a way that if you still don't understand it, she will spend the rest of the class explaining the concept and assigning practice problems. She wants you to succeed, something some professors are lacking.

Very fast pace, homework evernight, attendance is mandatory, grading scale makes it hard to get an A. However, she's very passionate and will explain in detail. Class is not a bird course, come prepared everyday.

Very fast paced, come prepared. Word of advice, if you place into 098 then maybe you should think about taking Math 085 first. Theres daily homework thats picked up every Friday and theres a quiz every two weeks. She's extremely helpful, she'll work with you for as long as it takes. FYI she does have an accent.

She is so great! I took her for 085 & 98 and both times I passed. She doesnt baby you, but she really wants you to succeed. She knows what she's talking about and for someone who gets frustrated by math, she really makes it easier. Yes, she is sarcastic and gives out homework, but YOU ACTUALLY LEARN. Isn't that what we're paying for anyway?

I took Mimi for Math 102 and Math 141. Her explanations are very clear and helpful, and she peppered her lectures with humour. She kept us posted on where we stood in the class regularly and was available for one-on-one. She is one of my favorite teachers and I would definitely recommend her to anyone!

In terms of teaching, she's really good. I'm retaking algebra and I'm understanding a lot of the material she's teaching us. One thing I don't like about her is the fact that she's been treating the class as if we were in high school. I didn't graduate so that I could go back to high school. Other than that, she's pretty good.

This quarter many students have dropped class, but they must not have put in the work. She is not a teacher to take if you want to slack off, she is tough, but very clear and always available for extra help. She is my favorite math professor so far and I would not hesitate to take her class for future classes(if they were offered)..highly recommend

Intimidating at first, but fun, helpful, and teaches well if you continue in her class. Always prepared and fair. Always asks the class for answers, so if you are brave enough to speak up in class, you get a good feeling of where you stand in the subject. Awesome teacher - highly recommended. Mimi is awesome if you aren't a slacker. She is extremely organized, patient and has a very methodical way of explaining. She allows you to earn back points on quizzes and tests. She collects homework once a week and only grades based on wether or not you attempted the work, not if you got it right. Great lady!

Hands down one of top teachers at this school. She is very heplful just put in the effort and she is willing to help. Helpful hint: attend class, her work is not super hard but you can breeze through class if you just attend everyday and do assigned homeworks

BEWARE : Mimi is highly addicting. Once you take her math class, you will want more and more from Mimi. She is phenomenal and exquisite. If your looking for an easy class this isn't the class for you. Homework is piled every day, Attendance is about 15% of your grade, Exams are long and tough but never anything she hasn't prepared you for. Shes tough but shes a genius when it comes to math. if your looking to gain something when you leave her class she is for you.

Why is she teaching when she could be flying to space? This woman is so smart she will have you learn math and makes it super easy to retain. Lots of homework but its worth it. Really awesome teacher. Daily homework, but for a math class that's sort of a given. The textbook + companion book was awesome but Mimi was so good at explaining things that reading the chapters was often unnecessary. She is very nice, engaging and has a cute and silly sense of math humor "BE FAIR to BOTH sides (of the equation)..."

Knowledgeable, consistent, helpful and lectures are very concise. I was never one to "absorb" materials, but with Mimi, it's natural & automatic. Homework is A LOT and due Fridays. KEEP UP with the homework. They're not hard, but it takes A LONG TIME. If working full time & taking full time credits like I did, this class is too much though.

Mimi is one of the greatest teachers I've had. The first day of class I was a bit scared and thought she was vry stern. She's actually pretty funny, but really means business from bell to bell. Go to class every day, do every HW and UNDERSTAND it, ask questions, and put in a good 1 to 2 hours per night and you'll be fine. Highly recommend!

Mimi provides all the relevant material that is needed for the success of the class. She provides as much summary as possible of material covered in the textbook. It requires alot of input into doing the homework if when you know the concept. I didnt find it necessary to study beyond what was covered in class, except for having to do homework alot.

This class goes WAAAAAAAAAAAY too fast and she assigns sooo much homework. Tests weren't too bad but for someone who is bad at math, this was all too much for me. Overall it's good. Hw and quiz are all in textbook. Personally I like the way she teach, easily understand. Many extra credits. Bad points: attendance is important, even though it is a 8am class, and try not be too late.

She prepared everything so her lectures went pretty smooth, clear and understandable. Her quizzes and tests were hard; and sometime I didn't have enough time to finish them (even though she gave us 50 minutes to do). She is A TOUGH GRADER. She grades and points out every single thing that is wrong in the test even the small mistakes.

Mimi is far and away the best math instructor I've ever had. She is extremely articulate and intelligent, and knows how to convey these concepts in an understandable way. She takes time to go through the homework and answer questions each day, and doesn't like to move on until she knows her students get it. Her teaching style is perfect for math.

Very strict and kind of OCD, but clear and methodical with her lectures. Uses her time efficiently. My only complaint is with her tests. They are too long, and she puts easy questions on the tests, so I feel like we are being tested on how fast we can finish the problems instead of whether or not we understand the material.

-You will have homework everyday, they will be based on the section covered in class. This class moves very fast, covers a section every day. -Homework is very helpful, Mimi will go over them if you ask, (make sure you ask, if you don't she won't go over it/ show you how to solve them). -Exams/Quizzes are much like the homework.

Honestly you will never find a teacher who teaches so well and cares so much for her students learning. She is one of a kind and i am kind of sad she doesn't teach past calc 1.

Mimi is super helpful, and detail oriented. Homework everyday, but it is not heavy loaded. Make sure you go to class ad do your work. Easy 4.0. Even the tests and exam questions are similar to the homework assignments.

I was a little scared on the first day since she seemed strict, and she is, but not to an extent where she would take off points for all the missing calculations. She actually turned out to be pretty funny and friendly. She is good at explaining the concepts, and it's better not to miss any classes since you'll probably feel lost in the next lesson

Mimi helped me build the study skills necessary to become a successful math student. Consistent practice is the only real way to internalize math concepts for use in "the wild." Doing the homework for Mimi's class daily helped me realize this and find the discipline to submit to it. Gives excellent problem-solving strategies for all problems!

Math has always been a struggle for me to understand, but her lectures are amazing, she explains everything so that it makes sense, can explain everything in different contexts so that everyone can understand. Will take every future math class with her if I can.

The course load is right in the middle, I would not say it is an easy course but it is definitely not difficult. Mimi is extremely sweet and helpful, and was always available when needed. I barely attended the lectures but was able to do well based off of just doing the homework alone. There were weekly quizzes and 3 tests and a final.

I literally love Mimi so much! She is so calm, understanding and her voice is so soothing. She gives out a lot of homework, but towards the end of the class, it gets easier. If you make a mistake on your quiz/exam just message her explaining it and she will give you the point. Literally in love

Mimi was the difference between me deciding to continue my path toward a degree and giving up to learn a trade. She was always available after class and was SO patient in explain rudimentary concepts in a way that I actually understood and was able to make my own connections. Now I don't think math is so bad.

I am a huge procrastinator, and I was able to keep up with the class quickly. Homework is important in this class as quizzes and exams, which are every Friday, have problems exactly or very similar to the homework. If you can understand how to use the formulas given to you, you'll easily pass and understand the class. Going to class is key too.

She teaches everything from scratch and really good for students who do not have a strong background in Mathematics.

Mimi teaches the material well. There is lots of homework though, around 60 problems a week. She is also understanding of late work. quizzes and exams are similar to homework, (class was online) as well as the final. Overall an easy course just lots of homework.

Mimi is a great teacher. There is a lot of homework that you need to do per week, but it's really manageable if you stay on schedule. And you may have seen some reviews saying that she's a tough grader, and that's true. She does ask for specific things like proper notation and proper format, but as long as you do that, you'll be fine.

Dr. Aregaye was very reasonable and kind during communication. Precalc will require plenty of homework problems, that's how math is learned. Keep up with the homework-- quizzes and exams are based off the homework. Mimi was kind enough to give me extra late passes during the final week without asking! For an online class, she's as good as it gets.

Mimi is probably one of, if not THE best professor to start your Calculus journey with! People often complain about homework but she's very accessible outside of class time and you'll get all the practice you need to excel in exams! She's also very lenient on grades, dropping multiple homeworks, quizzes, and even an exam! I loved the class!
