Her class is so easy, she will give you extra points and bounds point on the exam.
she gives extra credits in the class. no tricky question in in any test. does so many question in the class. she is making math easy to uderstand
No Comments
she sucked and i didn't learn a damn thing!
she is great!!! i've taken her twice and i'm enrolled in two more of her classes for next quarter! makes understandig very easy!! so far i've gotten all A's with her. whoever said she sucked didn't do their part as far as studying goes! so that's their own dang fault!!! you have to study hard, as you would in any class!! duh!! she is my favorite!!
When she starts out with practice problems, you realize that you have no idea what to do, but the examples she shows afterwards make everything very clear. Good teacher overall.
Great teacher!
she is very easy to understand. she is the only instructure in math department either drops one midterm or you dont need to take final. she knows her subject and makes it easy for everybody.
She isn't that great. Does not offer a lot of extra credit like some people said. Her test are not the greatest either. She grades weirdly... like it depends on her mood or something. She will take off a hunk of points for having moderate amount of boo-boos, & other times she will only take off 1-3 points. Got an A, but I just don't care for her
Very good
excellent!!!!!!!! She is on her way to winning many awards for teaching!! She is another "Dr. Hasan" in the making!!! No teacher has ever cared for his/her students the way she cares about hers!!
One of those rare math prof who not only is great at math but is equally as good at teaching it. Very demanding, one of the harder professors as far as work load, but she works just as hard. Plan to take her for as many classes as possible.
She is slow-paced, very helpful, and organized. She is open to answer questions. Tests are not difficult if you do your part of the work.
Dr. Lo does a very good job of explaining the material, she makes herself available either through e-mail or office hours to answer questions. Her weekly quizes are more like tests and she gives a lot of homework. If you are really interested in learning math, take Dr. Lo. If you are looking for an easy grade, take someone else
One of the best math professors I've ever had! Tests are fairly easy and she does not collect homework, but doing it helps a great deal! She drops your lowest test and quiz grade so impossible to fail!! Take her for as many classes as possible if you want to continue loving math! kudos : ]
If you are interested in learning mathematics but are having trouble with the concepts, you should take this teacher. She is very good at explaining things at a level you can understand. She is, however, very demanding and she will make you work. Preparing for her weekly quizzes is like studying for a midterm. I've taken her for 6 classes.
Having just completed my first quarter, I am glad I took her for this class. I do plan to take her for 345 in the fall. She had a lot of extra credit opportunities. Right now she is my favorite math professor next to Dr. Reid, whom I had at SBVCC. Class instruction was very detailed. This time, this website was very helpful in choosing my professor
Dr Lo is a lousy teacher and should be avoided at all costs. She shows favoritism to students she likes and gives them more help when they ask for it. For example if one of her favorite students asks a question in class, she'd go into detail answering the question. However, if you weren't one of her favorite students, she'd just give you a quick
She's the BEST
She is very very very difficult. Does not let anything go when it comes to grading quizzes or tests!!! She is not recommended
I really liked Lo. She was nice and walked you through so many examples. If you do your homework and pay attention it really helps. I love math but usually taught myself until this teacher presented concepts in an easy way so everyone could understand. She really trys to make everyone understand what they are doing. Just ask if you don't.
don't ever take her, she is lousy teacher. if you not her favorite student, no way you can pass her class. she deduce a lot of points on you quizs, midterms for the minor mistake, if you plan to take her, you life will miserable
Wonderful! She makes herself available thru office hours/email. If ur lookin4 a teacher 2give u an unearned A, then look elsewhere. If ur actually looking 2learn,then take Dr Lo. She will actually TEACH u and make u learn 2teach urself as well. It's not all about having some1 show u how to do everything. Sometimes u have to learn 2teach urself!
She is a good teacher BUT it can be very hard to understand her at times both in class and her office hours. She is a very hard grader. Although she can make the class fun, she can move too fast at times.
I liked her teaching and the way she would give us quizzes before you can forget the material. very hard to understand at time and goes faster then light in lectures. But nice women.
She is one of the best math teachers at CSUSB. Definitely take an analysis class with her -- she takes the time to explain concepts in detail and helps to make the proofs make sense. I aced this class (but I did study pretty hard.)
She explains the material very clearly. She has a slight accent, but it is very easy to get past it. She teaches at a very fair pace. Her tests and quizzes are the exact problems from homework and in class examples. She makes the material very easy to learn and get a good grade.
Awesome Prof, but you will work. I learned a lot and the weekly quiz keeps you focused.
She's the best math professor at CSUSB. You can tell she puts a lot of time into class preparation because her lecture notes are awesome. She cares about HOW you get the answer and wants to make it so that you can get the answer by yourself, which is so unlike many of the other math professors who could care less whether or not you get it.
If you need help she will help you. If a Doctor with a PhD is willing to spend as much time as needed to help you understand, what more can you ask for?
She is very on point and concise. Great teacher. And she's funny sometimes. Always talks about being Taiwanese and Math Club. Not a hard subject, but study often because there's a lot of new information you need to know for tests.
Dr.Min Lin Lo is a great math teacher if you stuggle in math. She breaks down the material step for step, and double checks to see if we understand the info. She cracks a couple jokes to keep the class interesting. And provides a small amount of ex. credit. One of the best math teachers i've had.
She is a wonderful teacher!! Puts in every effort to help every student understand and the homework is not mandatory. Drops lowest test score. Made me enjoy math again and really makes sure that everyone comprehends what she is doing. Great explainer I would definitely take her again. One of the best teachers I have had at CSUSB!!
She is great!! If you do your assignment you would be find!!
She is a really good teacher! She taught calculus as if we were the first graders - explaining every little step and taking time to refresh fractions and other minor things. Her handwriting is perfect and she repeats things for you several times. The only advice - pay attention and memorize how she writes down steps. She grades this on the test.
Excellent teacher. Very clear and willing to take extra time to help you out, and willing to work with you. Very easy grader, and extra credit on exams.
Awesome teacher very nice with clear explanations doesn't waste class time
Extra credit was given for attending math related events and provided a nice buffer for not studying. Covers all chapters thoroughly and offers time each class to go over homework questions. Homework was not mandatory. Overall a very good teacher, Will be taking her for any class possible.
I took her applied statistics class and was amazed by how well it was structured and taught. She does push you as a student but also gives a lot as a professor. She is easy to understand and makes the subject fun and easy to learn. Extra credit is offered and she is very good about being in her office for office hours. I would highly recommend her.
shes an amazing professor!!! she makes learning math a lot easier than many others!! i learned really fast with her and understood everything!
She is great at explaining and the examples she uses are very helpful. Great math class !
Dr. Lo is one of the most organized and funniest professor I've had. She has notes posted on BB and she explains the topics better than the book. Make sure to attend the class because you can best bet that her lectures are pretty much the exams. Definitely would take her again; her 2 hour classes went by quickly because of her humor.
Hands down the best Math teacher CSUSB has to offer. Offers extra credit to boost your grade, quizzes and exams are not too difficult (IF you studied your butt off). Explanations are related to life in a sense. This lady needs to be the highest paid, PERIOD. She's that good.
She has great notes on every chapter that are on Black Board. You can follow her lectures better if you go over her notes before class. She goes over notes and example problems, exactly. Test questions are similar to the homework. She keeps her office hours, so if additional help is needed, she is there. Warning, memorizing formulas is required.
Yes Dr. Lo is a tough grader but she gives great feedback, she's funny, she will inspire you to be the best you can be! She loves her job and her students. Consider yourself lucky to have the opportunity to take her!
Dr Lo is a great teacher. She explains each lesson very clearly and writes out everything so you can easily understand. She always asks if everyone understands and if you don't then she will explain it again in more detail so you can understand. She is a tough grader, but if you go to class and do the homework then you can definitely pass.
Great lectures and explanations, however, I felt she would not prepare us well for the exams. She does offer extra credit to help pad your grade a little. She is very picky about the details in a proof oriented class. (As she should be). Expect to work hard in her class. Getting an A is not easy, or a B for that matter.
I was lost the whole time. I attended every class asked questions but no matter what I did I failed every quiz and exam. Nothing I wrote done on my tests was correct. She would not help the class prepare for the test or quizzes. She would suppressible review for test and quizzes but it felt like we where being tricked. if she doesn't like u get F.
Interesting class itself, except for a few exceptions. This professor is really REALLY nitpicky over very minute details while grading a quiz or test. She offers extra credit and is there if you need her help on a problem or 2. Her way of preparing students for a quiz or exam is terrible, and her method of explaining things is average. Avoid her!!!
I really enjoyed Professor Lo's class. Math is a tricky subject, but keep on it, and dont fall behind in your studies and homework and you will pass the class. She is very helpful, and encourages students to visit during her office hours to help.
She acts like she really wants to help her students learn the material but it truly is a lie. She doesn't help students by tricking them and making the material more difficult than it already is. Most of the class had a difficult time understanding her difficult lectures. She is from a different culture where they torture students I guess.
Dr. Lo is an exceptional professor! She is very difficult but informs you exactly what she expects from you. Study hard and go to her office hours and you should do well in this class.
Great teacher she really wants her students to succeed and her lectures are clear and very enjoyable. She is always open to help students and she has notes on BlackBoard so you can follow along in class and makes things a lot easier in learning.
Dr. Lo has her way of teaching. She gives you a lot of chances to get extra credit. She wants you to do the tests in her way, or you won't get full credit. Discrete Math is hard, and Dr. Lo tries to make it easy for you. If you skip class, go to her to review the notes because you will miss a lot of important things. She's pretty chill and funny.
2 exams and a final. None are cumulative and lowest exam score is dropped. However, no formula sheet allowed. Expect to memorize formulas. All her lecture notes are available online, but they're power-point. The notes and lecture style were difficult to learn from. Extremely tough grader, too. Extra credit but they're often tough for little points.
Terrified, you should be. She sent an email to our 355 class in the beginning of the quarter and everything she said was true. I had all my time devoted to this class and on her exams I struggled so much. I could not focus in my other classes. You have to teach yourself and I had to work on proofs till midnights! The average for the exam 66%.
WATCH OUT! You have been warned. Toughest professor at csusb. Presentations after presentations after presentations. If you cant give her the correct answer you lose pariticipation points. Brutal. Torture. Miss 1 presentation, grade cannot be higher than a C. Her tests were hard!! You have to learn everything on your own. 8 units and still hard!!
I took calculus in high school and this class by far the hardest. She isnt good at teaching, she just solves the problems with poor explanation. She only wants us to do problems in the method she taught us. On top of that, her accent makes it hard to understand on what shes trying to say. If you ever take this professor, good luck.
Doctor Lo is a very cool person but as a professor, I really struggled in this. Having no background of Calculus made it even harder. Even after explaining that Pre-Calculus does not prepare you for this, she just makes me talk to my group who were also lost. We had to do it her way or we get graded wrong. I wouldnt recommend this professor.
most of the class got c
Absolute worse math professor at CSUSB. Get ready for a class where everything must be her way or you get 0 points along with having to provide examples even when not asked to do so during exams. No examples provided, 0 credit. Very unfair grader and has no sympathy for any student. Tells students previous teachers were teaching wrong as well.
Would not recommend at all, she penalizes you for wrong answers, and did not want to post notes on blackboard so that people would have to attend live classes. Was very fast paced and did not explain things thoroughly, if you missed a class session there goes your grade.
I personally really liked Dr. Lo's class. You definitely have to work hard and attend class, but that hard work will be rewarded with good quiz/test scores. Additionally, expect to show your work. However, Dr. Lo is very clear on what she expects to see as work. TLDR: attend lecture, practice, follow her instructions, and you'll do just fine.
10/10 would not recommend. Way too tough ESPECIALLY online. RUN!
One of the worst professors I have ever had! Ive never failed a class before and mind that I have taken up to Calc 3 and this class was way harder. Shes very picky when it comes to grading and she chooses students randomly and cameras have to be on during class. She doesnt teach well. Notes arent helpful. Average midterm was 56% ... yikes
Her class is heavy, not for the faint of heart. But she really cares and tries to make a tough class easy. Expect a lot of work.
Although Dr. Lo can be very nitpicky, I learned a lot in this class. Take if you can!
Dr. Lo was a pretty good professor throughout the semester. She lectured well and cared for everyone's learning. However, for the final exam, you need to pass with a 65% or more in order to pass the class. This might sound easy to achieve but she provides no study guide for the final exam and the material is so extensive. Take 3100 w someone else.
This professor was by far the hardest and worst professors I've had at CSUSB. She wanted us to remember how to do problems, without knowing any formulas. The whole thing was overwhelming and if you didn't remember the complicated steps of each word problem, you had zero formulas to go off. I became depressed during this class, had to drop the class
She gives tests EVERY 2 weeks on a Friday She goes very fast during lecture she had to add extra sections at the end. Always dodges the questions with no valid answer. I went to her office hours and she just complained
Very tough grader does not answer well when asking questions. Does 6 exams in the semester and is a tough grader
There was times the exams were formatted by how well the buffalo bills played that week. Lectures are difficult to follow
Took her fast track class at Chaffey. 2-3 homework assignments on MyLab every week with 25-60 questions with multiple parts. We had a quiz instead of exams each week but they were just as long as a normal exam. Really inconsiderate, thinking like this was the only class we were taking the whole semester. Save yourself by taking someone else.
Overall the professor was very professional and helped when explanations were needed. I like how she works problems steps by step and explains how to complete the problem. First 2 exams not too hard, my last exam was tough. I would highly recommend to take her winter or summer if offered. Homework heavy but I highly recommend her. 3 QZ & 3xm & HW.
Shes a tough grader. Latex is mandatory but never went through how to use it, learn it yourself. Grade depends on midterm and final. If you fail the final regardless of your latex exams or midterm you fail the course. Take Professor Johnson if possible for 3100
She's a tough grader. Most of the grade is based on quizzes that she gave every other week, that were out of 40 points each test. She didn't prepare you or let you know what would be on the test before hand. Most of the test questions were actually more from webwork. You cant makeup for quizzes. The only good thing is she drops one of the worst.
Terrible professor. Every session was just worksheets, none of it made sense. The quizzes were a joke! You can get the correct answer, showed your work and still get no point for it and when you call her out on it she would give you a lame excuse on why it was wrong! Take Yuichiro Kakihara instead he's way better in teaching the course material!
I dodged a bullet getting out of her class! The information she provides is very confusing! When taking her quizzes you can show your work and get the right answer but you will still get docked 3/4 of the points because you got one minor thing wrong in your work then she would give you a bogus excuse on why she gave you a low score on that problem.
The class was difficult. Tough grader. I would suggest drop the class because when I looked over the syllabus the quizzes were worth 50% and if you fail one of them it affects your grade and basically you fail the course. I would recommend drop the class because I didn't and I regret it. It annoyed me how the quizzes were every 2 weeks.
Great professor!
The epitome of not being helpful. She is so strict and inconsiderate. If you have issues with anything good luck.
hardest prof took for calc, every sunday was hw due around 30-45 questions and each question had 1-5 parts each. sometimes majority would have 10-16 parts EACH QUESTION, all calculus mind u. super tough grader would enroll with someone else if u can for sure
With all due respect, if you want a real and legit rating on this professor, this is it. This is by far the absolute worst professor I have ever had in all my years of college. I took her in MATH 2320 and she only grades your tests and you need 5 perfect scores on all your tests to pass the class. Extremely hard grader, uncaring, and unhelpful!
