Doesn't understand the concept of student confidentiality...talks about students by name to other students. The worst teacher imaginable! Really bad attitude! Does anyone appraise a teacher like her?

She is not very clear and is hard to understand. She is really rude sometimes, and has problems expressing ideas nicely.

This woman is an absolute WITCH. I dropped her class mid-semester because she just stopped grading my papers. Id turn them in on time and everything and they would have no grade on them. When I asked her about it, all she said was that she refused to grade it, and too bad. On top of THAT, she gave me failing marks on papers when I spoke out.

This lady is CRAZY!!!! She requires you to complete ridiculous amounts of home work and projects. I almost got arrested on one of the projects in which we were required to STALK a group of people for 3 hours a day for 6 weeks. They eventually called the cops on me and they thought I was crazy when I told them the story. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

If you take her, I recommend bsing the hw until you actually write the paper. You're not gonna do it right anyways so just do what you can then take notes when she corrects it the next class. She is extremely hard and confusing. I recommend you look up lead-ins, engaging openings, key word entry, back grounding, and topic sentence. good luck

We started with a class of 35. We ended with a class of 11. I slept at most 2 hours a night. I sometimes pulled all nighters. She has terrible hand writing and doesn't explain things well at all. She is a bad professor. I have never been more stressed out than when I was in her class. But after surviving her class, I feel like I can do anything.

She sucks! I showed up everyday and listened (tried to at least) to see what she was saying or what she wanted, and Her assignments are ridiculous and hard to figure out exactly what she wants. Worst teacher I've ever had. I've always been an excellent English student and she made me feel stupid and incompetent. I strongly disliked her. I ended up making a B, but was very surprised with that. Very demeaning and will do anything to make a student feel as if they are not worthy of her time. AWFUL teacher and person.

I took her Short Story class. The work load wasn't too bad it was a lot of reading.Her tests are ridiculous, you may as well record her lectures to do well on them. She is not helpful at all. I have sent her multiple emails and either get 3 word responses or no response. She is unclear of what she wants and changes her mind often. DON'T TAKE HER.

Her assignments were very clear-cut, standard essays, then you'd get back a C with little to no explanation even if you did everything she asked

She is a very confusing. I hate group work but she WILL make you do it or you WILL fail. Even if you accidentally miss once, it's a possibility you might fail. The only reason I passed was because for some reason she liked me. Ironically, I hated her. Also, PARTICIPATE. She gets pretty snippy if you don't. Also, look up key word entry.

I worked really hard the first half of the semester and received nothing but C's with little to no feedback on what I had done incorrectly. And if you have disability accommodations, forget about it. She's not approachable and if you ask for help, she's very condescending. Her workload is huge, as if hers is the only class you're in. DROP NOW.

WARNING I missed class twice for a doctor visit and told me I missed very important info and wouldn't give it to me. All she does it talk trash about EVERYTHING, including FFA, Greek Life and other organizations. I failed a paper and she wrote a smiley face at the top. She doesn't need to be teaching. She says she will help but when asks refuses.

You can expect to be asked questions that have no clear answers and be expected to know the answer. You will be assigned seemingly random homework assignments with little or no explanation to them and stay up late at night every night working on mountains of assignments like that. I have SO much to say about Ms. McCutchen. Let's just out by saying DON'T TAKE HER CLASS! She is very confusing, a tough grader that doesn't give constructive feedback, and requires memorization of tons of definitions. She can be rude, too. Over half of my class dropped this course because of her.

Her expectations are unclear(even with an assignment sheet), and her handwriting is atrocious. Do not expect much help without a snippy or condescending remark from her. Half of the original class dropped her, and the other half of us envied them greatly. If you have any doubts at the start of the semester, I advise you to drop as soon as possible

This is a freshman level class with grad level difficulty without much clarification. She wants so many details tended too but is unclear and goes in circles at times until everyone is thoroughly confused by what she wants. Every time you THINK you understand exactly how much shes asking for she adds ANOTHER requirement.

She seems very nice and polite but, she is not. Every day she requires something printed and brought to class, something you wrote (even if you have questions for her they must be printed.) Also, she takes letter grades off your papers if you miss a single class, do not take. Whatever you do, do not take.

Rude and unhelpful. Assumes you're being rude when you ask a questions and retorts with attitude and unclear answers. She takes a month to grade the papers and doesn't give you your final grade until the end of the semester. If you're stuck with her as your English teacher drop as soon as you can and sign up with ANY other teacher. Advisors know.

She made us do "Zoom" webcam stuff because she was so lazy to drive to the school... I couldn't stand her one bit. The 4 papers were stupid in my opinion. She does not care about any situation you are in she will expect you to still show up to class no matter what. Take the drop dates seriously or you will regret it.

I aced this course but only at great personal cost. There's so much homework and her schedule is extremely fast paced... If she has any assigned reading try and get as much done BEFORE you even start the class, if possible actively read/add margin notes. This will make your life so much easier! McCutchen is probably the worst professor I've had while going to Tarleton. If you are planning on missing her class for any reason don't take her, she will not stand for it. Homework is HEAVY, and she takes about 4 grades per class time. the load gets a little lighter towards the end of the semester, but if you can, I would avoid at all costs.

She will give you an assignment, and on the day it's due she will tell you that's not what she told you to do. you can ask her a question, and she will dance around it, but not give you a clear answer for it. I would never recommend her to anyone.

I had her last fall and I still cannot get over how terrible she is. Honestly she doesn't care about anything other than herself. I was told "you write good, but just not my good so that's why you did poorly" TSU would be better without her.

I have never had so much trouble in one class before. In her class she grades our homework as a 0 or 100. No in-between. Sometimes we just told it up and she will grade the paper as a 0 because it's not to her liking. Even though she never read it! Don't take this class unless you are ready to work your butt off and never stop doing her work.

I had her for short story. Avoid taking her class if you can.. she enjoys making students feel stupid when they have a question about one of her unclear assignments. I dreaded her class every day.

Missed a week due to a funeral of a close friend, she asked for pictures of me AT THE FUNERAL to show proof. She says she wants you to write in your own style then critiques you on your writing style. We agreed on a 7AM meeting in her office and she did not show up, then claimed she was. There is not a word in English that describes my hatred 4 her

Do not take her class!!! Always very unclear on class instruction. She trys to be a very inspirational and "caring" teacher however she would spend 40 minutes of our class time making us share our feelings and the last 10 minutes barley explaining our English work . I took this class for a credit and I used to love english and writing papers and such, now? I HATE it. All because of this psycho lady. She was a terrible professor, a horrible teacher, doesn't ever show up to office hours, and is over all a terrible person. If you take this class, RUN. I will be dropping out of college because of this professor. She talks about her high expectations, but is not clear about what she wants the assignment to be, then gives you a zero. She spends most of the hour of teaching talking about things that are not relevant to the assignment or topic. If she tells you to do it your way, that's a lie.

This professor rambles on about everything but the subject itself. Skip class? Shell double the homework load for those non-face-to-face attending students (even if its virtual learning). I took this awful Professor in Spring 2020. She is the most rude, disrespectful, and condescending person I have ever met. HIGH expectations of you and even when you meet them, you are not granted the grade you have worked so hard for. I passed a writing intensive program with a 98% so that is proof that her grading is unjustified. STAY AWAY!!

She talks about everything BUT the course, has incredibly high expectations, grading criteria, and doesn't believe in medically excused absences. I can tell she cares for her students and see why she in a hard grader, however her execution in not great. It was very difficult to understand what she was trying to say, even after asking questions. She talks SO FAST I couldn't keep up with taking notes. and turning in homework was hard because she couldn't copy and paste a link that worked.

I emailed her before the class had even started because her class outline was simply unclear. She told me that she doesnt get paid enough to respond to emails and I needed to go see her in office hours. When I tell you I ran to drop this class, I RAN.
