This class, in my opinion was easy. Ming lui is more like a high school teacher. He's not like those mean proffesor's that take pleasure in watching a student fail.

Ming is a very good professor. He loves teaching and really cares about students. He always makes sure every one understand the materials. He has very detailed notes on the board. I am a super busy person, fortunately, with Ming's help,I was able to learn without spending a lot of time reading book.

Ming Lu is an incredible professor, the best! To excel in his class you cannot be lazy though. He loves to teach and it is obvious in the way he takes care of his students and is genuinly concerned for their success. If you want a kind, caring professor you will learn a lot from, take his class.

Ming Lu is an awesome teacher. It has been 8 years since I took ACCT I and I am making it through this class. Ming gives you great notes and he is very fair. I do have one suggestion. The book is not very good but you should read it anyway. I did better on sections of the exam when I read the book. Read Book and Study Ming's Notes.

Ming is one of the best teachers that I have had. He really cares about his students and he goes out of his way to make sure that you understand concepts. If you read and fully understand the lecture notes, you will do well in his class. He doesn't try to trick you. Just be sure to read each question carefully on exams.

Ming truly cares about his students and grading is extremely fair. It's an easy class if you enjoy accounting + if you're studying to be a CPA but for everyone else, you need to put in good effort to be successful. So don't expect to get through this class just by showing up or by doing your homework. His notes are great so spend good time on them.

Loves to teach. Never cancels his class. It's never boring, rather finishes early. Very lenient on grading. Easy to pass (that's if you put some time and study. But he is very strict on his rules. I had fun in the class. Highly recommend him.

Ming taught at Foothill College in Los Altos, CA Accounting 1C Managerial Accoounting. The class was online, so attendance was never an issue. The subject is difficult becauses there is so much to learn, and your on your own pretty much. You need to keep up with the homework and practice solving problems. Ming will be missed at Foothill College.

Not recommended for slackers! He is one of the most serious and professional professors at SMC. His lecture notes are right to the point but it is recommended that you read the book prior to the lecture. He gives Extra credits on Exam reviews. Be prepared for his jokes and real life stories.

This was my first online class and it went a lot better than I expected. The teacher was always available to answer questions through email or the bulleting boards. The class was very thoroughly planned out. I took the class over the winter, so even with the condensed version of the course, it was still challenging but doable. The grading is fair.

Professor Lu was great. He was clear, concise, and available. His terms were strict and fair - very well laid out/explained! The additional info volunteered regarding the CPA exam was the most useful document I've found on this topic yet! I definitely recommend Professor Lu for any class requirements!

I took his class online;it was quite hard to understand the course without having everyday-life examples.But Lu was extremely helpful when we have questions regarding the lecture/quiz/hw.He'll reply ur email within that day.Acctg2 is not an easy subject but (BEST part) he gave us A LOT of extra points and that will instantly push up your grade!!

Ming's teaching style is not for everyone! If you like being babied and told your doing a good job when you're not, then don't take Ming. His test are fair/easy. Accnt is a hard class so don't expect an easy A; You need to really understand the material. He keeps class fun and interesting, and really cares about his HARD WORKING students.

Acct is not an easy subject but Mr Lu does his best to make the material as clear as possible. I don't know what those people are talking about. He is one of the best Acct teachers at SMC. He cares for his students and wants them to do well. If you are lazy don't take his class but if you are willing to work hard you will be just fine.

This was my first online class at SMC, and Prof. Lu is a very thorough professor. If you read the book and do all the homework, class is a easy A. Make sure to check the class website every day because something he always makes announcements for the class.

Lu is one of the best professors I have ever had. His notes are very straightforward and so are his tests. They are not meant to be tricky. If you were to understand his notes 100% you would ace the test. And plus he gives extra points, a total of 11, that can bump you up by almost 4% ! that's crazy! he's funny and keeps you awake in his class.

I took his online accounting class, and I find it a good experience. I did not have much direct interaction with him because online courses are more like assisted self-study than a class. However, from the way he writes and communicates with his students, I can tell that he is an effective, detail-oriented and smart individual.

He is a great professor to take if you are looking to become CPA in the future. Majority of notes are typed out for you, 3 exams,1 group project, and u only need a 3/5 on hw to get full credit.Works very hard to make sure you understand.Very knowledgeable about subject and won't teach anything you won't need later. If you are not willing to give your best effort, do not bother taking this class. Overall, the notes are clear, Professor Lu tells you what is and what is not on the exam, and has a wealth of knowledge on the subject of Accounting. If your major is Accounting this is a must take class, as the opportunities provided to you are priceless.

This class barely uses text book.Infact his exams are 99% from his own lecture notes which is helpful to students who dislikes to read textbook and summarize on their own. His class is more like a post-high school. He likes to set rules and instruction which is not even rational. Very organized but lack of humbleness makes hard to give respect.

Best accounting professor I've ever taken! He posts prewritten chapter notes that you add to during lecture. And his tests are basically the notes reworded. Literally. He cares about his students and will help you succeed in any way possible. Amazing professor! You won't be disappointed.

Professor Lu was extremely helpful; I took him for 10A and 10B. He is very student driven; he makes difficult concepts easy to understand with real life examples. He is always willing to spend time with students, I really enjoyed his class. He always has the student's best interest. I only wish he would teach a hybrid 10C class.

Great teacher! Highly recommend for accounting 1 and 2! Fair grading, moderate tests, and really easy to talk to. DO NOT CHEAT though.... One, there's no need and two, it's an automatic F on the test and pretty much the class. Just ask the guy in my class lol

Online course but schedules on-campus review where his passion for teaching, for the topic, and for helping his students understand and prepare the CPA exam are all wonderfully evident. His actual explanations of the material, despite his enthusiasm, are often at bit muddled, however.

Ming is great, he's always very nice and helpful. It's the course that completely sucks. Huge amount of work to do in 7 weeks; there is not time to absorb it all. Tests and quizzes are online, and timed. No partial credit. if the computer doesn't like your numerical answers, you're screwed. Don't take this class, take it at UCLA or somewhere else.

Mr. Lu is rare in the sense he actually really cares about his students success. In turn, this made me care more about the class. Most of the class is based off of his chapter notes which you bring to class. Very clear way of learning as he has filtered out all of the 'noise'. One of the better Accounting 2 professors. Breaks down the chapters in laymans terms making it easier to understand rather than reading the text. His notes along with keen repetition of the notes are the key to pass his class. Consists of 2 midterms and the final exam. HW is weekly and there are no pop quizzes, but instead a group project.

Professor Lu is one of the best Accounting professor I've ever known. He really cares about the success of his students. If he tells you not to skip class, don't skip. He's not joking around when he tells you that every chapter is important for further lectures. It is a fun class, too bad he's not teaching BUS 1B at my school.

The great thing about professor Lus class is that he gives great lectures and most of the learning happens here, dont miss class. Well-structured online course. Every question is based on a question that is in the text so if each Brief Exercise from the book and each practice quiz problem is understood then the problems are straightforward. The Wiley homework and test/quiz system is required so that has to be purchased. He also has Youtube channel illustrating career paths.

Professor Lu's classes are well structured and extremely organized. I took him for Accounting 10A and 10B, both online. The materials are easy to understand, and he responds to emails very fast. Great flexibility on assignments and extra credits on the exams. Absolutely wonderful online accounting class experience.

My advise, take Ming. He is the definition of what a professor should be. He wants you to succeed and is committed to providing the tools to do so. His notes are thorough, he gives updated information about the CPA, and truly wants you to do well in life. Is he hard? Yes.But the confidence I received when applying to jobs as a result are priceless.

This is a tough class but as FAIR as they come. Lu gives notes that outline the book and are easy to understand/study. 2 exams that are fair and based off examples in the notes and HW problems. If you practice and put in the time/effort then you will be rewarded. Great online class experience. Will be going back to him for Intermediate B and C.

Professor Lu is a great professor that clearly cares about his students knowledge of the subject. The online course had about three hours of lecture a week, and could seem like a lot. The tests hardly stray away from what was on the lecture, and if you study his notes you should be fine. Only two tests and a final (not cumulative). Minimal homework

It's definitely a reading-heavy course, but study his notes and you will do very well. He'll give very clear grading criteria for each project and test, and he's really easy to keep in contact with.

Professor Lu is an amazing instructor! He cares about his students and really wants us to learn the material. His syllabus can be intimidating because it is so long, but he goes over every single policy and scenario you may encounter, so you will be prepared. Professor Lu's ACCT10B is a challenging but rewarding class. The lectures are detailed, and the exams are tough, but doing the practice problems and using resources like Unstuck study can really help. Attend class, engage with the material, and you'll learn a lot.
