wang is great...his review sheets are the best, w/o question. my only gripe is that he is too easy, i needed more of a challenge from differential equations to keep me entertained

Major difference in calc II and calc iii methodology. very interesting. incredibly brilliant- maybe to a fault. a little scary at first- but just keep asking questions and you will perservere (?)

You can tell that he's somewhat of a math genious. He doesnt explain things very well..he always uses the harder way to do math problems, but his use of the word "sign" is incredibly funny.

I had him for computer org and assembly (38231)Very easy going. Sometimes a tad too easy! Regardless, he's a great guy. His exams are challenging, but not impossible. DEFINITELY ATTEND CLASS!!!!!

Dr. Wang is a great teacher (and absolutely hysterical a lot of the time, which helps). I've heard people say this guy grades easily at times - this is NOT TRUE at all and he will kill your grade if you try to get through without actually understanding what you're doing. One of the nicest professors at OCCC, definitely recommend him.

Great guy!! He's insanely smart! Only reason i had to drop the class was because of medical problem..but otherwise He's awesome! Dr. Wang is the BEST!

Great sense of humor, intelligent, engaging, understanding, and approachable. In my experience, he gives more than one example for each problem so you can really understand the work. I dropped the class only because my aptitude test put me in a higher section than I was prepared for. I would definitely take a class with him again, though.

This dude is hilarious. A great teacher. His accent and expressions are so entertaining. I actually look forward to going to his class - and math is my least favorite subject! If you got this guy - you lucked out!

Dr. Wang is considered by both students and the head of the dept to be one of the best math professors here. He does go over homework, quizzes, tests, etc. and goes over problems until you understand them. The material isn't easy but he's very approachable and a great teacher. He does have an accent, but I could easily understand what he said.

He is a great teacher! He has an accent but not to hard to understand. He teaches till you learn! He want everyone to pass in his class and tries his best to help! Great teacher, if you have him you'll pass!

At first i was nervous when i got Wang as a teacher for my worse subject because i heard he has a thick accent but trust me, its not bad at all! Unless you have trouble with english you will understand him perfectly. Hes very helpful, funny, and makes everything easier.

I don't understand why everyone says that his accent is a problem. Math is not verbal at all, and he emphasizes his explanations by writing absolutely everything on the board. Unless you're mentally challenged, this makes it very easy to follow him. He's a great teacher, very intelligent, and very helpful.

This man is a genius. I actually understand (almost) everything he says and he is great with going over the homework and doing examples and making things crystal clear, despite his very chinese accent. It amazes me sometimes. The only negative thing I could say is that he says "ok" after every sentence. It can get annoying but it keeps you alert!

Best math professor ever! Writes everything he says on the board. Very fair grader, decently easy exams - be careful of making silly mistakes through. Always goes over the quizzes and exams, answers any questions asked of him. He makes people that suck at math good after getting out of his class because he explains everything so well.

Awesome teacher. Explains everything in detail. You can join this class and not remember anything, and he will refresh your memory in deep detail. His accent is strong but doesn't affect his teaching ability. Highly Recommended.

Mr. Wang was recommended to me by my previous math professor who wasn't going to teach math at OCCC the following semester. And man, was she right! I scraped by in high school when it came to math, but Mr. Wang made it super easy to understand. Heck, I even found myself overachieving, which I haven't done since Jr. High.

Math is not my strong point but with professor Wang you will pass math. I'm telling you if I pass it with an A anyone can do it. I would recommend professor Wang to anyone who has to take math and does not understand it. He breaks it down so you can. He gives you take home quiz and his test is just like his quiz. If you study you will pass.

After having taken the course over the prior summer by another professor, Mr. Wang is 10x's easier and really makes sure the students understand the material. There is no homework, but you do have a quiz packet for the semester, so it's not too bad. Make sure to study, because if you do it's easy to get good marks on the exams.

Suck at Math so I was worried about Wang (the accent, the slow teaching). But honestly, this was the best learning experience in math that Ive evr had. If you need help in math, Wangs ur guy. He is slow, methodical and you CANT fail if u follow him. Plus his accent is adorable, something like a South Park Character. Lots of giggles and learning.

I'll admit, when he walked in the door and started talking I was nervous. Boy, was I nervous for nothing. His teaching is crystal clear, he writes EVERY step on the board, and he's pretty darn funny. If you copy everything he writes, you're golden. Quizzes are all take-home and the tests are clear-cut and not long. He's awesome.

Although I may have gotten a low grade I think it's only due to my interest in Maths in general and my lack of practicing. However, this teacher is a great teacher very easy and breaks down everything that you need to know. He tells you why and how.

He writes extremely clear notes, explains every step, there to help you whenever you ask, grades fairly, makes you laugh during class, doesn't go off topic.. I'm still no good at math but it's the first time I've passed a math course. Amazing. I recommend him.

Wang was by far one of the best math professors or teachers that I've ever had. I always struggled with math, but he made it so clear and easy. He's willing to help you if you don't understand and his tests are exactly like the study guide he gives out for you to do and goes over in class.

I love professor Wang! There are a lot of notes, but he is very clear about what he wants. As long as you show up to class, takes notes, do the homework, and the practice exams then there is no way to fail the tests. I would most definitely recommend him to anybody bad or good at math. He made it very easy to learn.

I loved Professor Wang's class and I have always been bad at math. Once you get used to his accent, its easy to understand him and he explains everything in detail. He gave us our homework in a packet so we had the chance to get ahead. He is funny and takes time explaining each example.

I would encourage someone who has had a hard time with math in high school to take this course. Professor Wang is straightforward and kind. Follow all his instruction for a good grade (he even lets you know this, he says, "my way and you will be good"). I honestly would have gotten an A if I hadn't let my terrible English professor stress me out.

Ive struggled with math for years and he helped me understand it a bit more. Doesn't expect any participation as long as you show up. He gives homework every week but you have a few days to do it and before the test he gives study guides that are exactly like the test.

He had a sweet sense of humor in class, was very approachable, and could explain things very simply or go into depth if you needed/ wanted him to. He came across as extremely knowledgeable and confident in the subject matter, but was very down-to-earth when teaching. He has an accent, but I had not trouble understanding him. I highly recommend him.

Funny and sweet professor. Contains somewhat of a heavy accent, but you get used to it over time. Teaches everything thoroughly and thoughtfully. "My way or no way!", so make sure you do it his way. Assignments are super easy, use in class notes as references. The tests are very similar to practice exams we go over in class. 100% would recommend.

Dr. Wang is one of the best math professors at SUNY Orange. His sense of humor is paralleled only by his ability to teach. There are no surprises in his exams, and he gives a 5 extra credit point bonus question per exam. If you want to learn while also not having to stress too terribly much, he is your man.

His accent worried me at first. Not being good at Algebra, I thought it would be that much harder not understanding him. But, after a few days, I got used to his accent and it quickly became one of my favorite classes. He has such a clear way of teaching Algebra and he was super funny! I hope to get him again in a future class.

I was worried about his accent at first but within a few days I got used to it. He taught the material in such a simple way, I understood everything so easily. We had assignments due every week but they were short and simple. The assignments, lecture ad tests were so similar. I highly recommend him, especially if math is not your best subject.

The best professor in Math! You just have to know your basic in algebra. Never skip classes or else you will miss all the important lectures. Pay attention and practice the assigned exercises. Gives extra credit on tests. Overall he is great!

Ive always been good at math but Dr Wang made math amazing and showed how to do every equation and problem in the simplest way. Show up, do your homework assignments, and the sample tests and you will do great. He goes over the sample tests and thats exactly whats on the real tests. Would take him again in a heartbeat.

I liked that he gives all the homework assignments that we will be doing the first day of class and then he gives when they will be due. he gives 4 tests that a worth 90% of the final grade and 10% of your grade is for the homework. he is pretty funny at times and I really liked him as a teacher.

Dr. Wang is one of the greatest math professors at SUNY Orange. He teaches the material very well at a good pace. He's also really hilarious. He gives a reasonable amount of homework. His practice exams are very identical to the tests you receive. Anyone can get an A in his class, just put in the work, study, and you'll be solid. Highly Recommend!

Great Professor! Tests are centered around the homework and take home quizzes if youre not good at tests I wouldnt recommend since they count for 90% of the final grade. Also very funny and caring, he grades back tests and quizzes very quickly always gave them back the next lecture. Would recommend!

He hands out a packet for every unit and does step by step on how to solve problems. He gives homework often but its less than 10 questions and he gives a few days to do it. He also answers all questions on the study guide and it is exactly how the test will look. He is a great professor.

The assignments are pretty straightforward. Tells you days in advance when assignments are due and exams. Also, he doesnt accept late work so try your best to get any points as possible. Classes are short but overall I enjoyed him as my professor

Quite possibly the best educator at SUNY Orange, he knows what he's doing, he knows how to teach it, he was so flexible with COVID, he is someone who is willing to assist with other tasks. English is very clearly not his first language but that does not mean he is hard to understand, he will not take it personally if you ask him to say it again.

Mr. Wang was a breath of fresh air this semester. He is very good at explaining and he lets you know ahead of time if something is going to be a more difficult topic. He's such a sweetheart. His accent worried me on the first day, but it's really not hard to understand him at all. I highly recommend him.

Coming from someone who is terrible at math, I would take this class every year if I had to. I don’t know how he has any less than 5/5. You could ask him what 10+10 is and he would genuinely break it down to you without judgement. He has a clear outline of what you’ll be doing every class throughout the semester. No surprises.

Excellent lectures with a video of the lecture posted at 6 PM same day. If you need to review a lecture especially when you are doing the assignments, the videos are very handy. His notes are available online before every lecture and he follows the exact notes during lectures. I highly recommend Dr. Ming Wang.

Dr. Wang is truly a great professor. He goes through the material with detail and takes his time. He gives out extra points if you call him out on mistakes, and theres always a bonus question for extra points on tests. Very sweet and funny. Taking him again for MAT102 this semester and wish I could take him for every math course!
