Excellent teacher. He was the only one that helps students get ahead in math. If there's every anyone that does not understand, he will focus on that student until that student grasps the concepts of mathematics. He really works and tries his hardest, very honest, kind, caring man.

His class is great because he gets right down to the point. He explains the new topics or formulas you need to understand and then solves examples from the book. His class usually lasts 35 minutes, so you can have time to do your homework or study. There were times when his teaching became confusing, but if you talk to him he will help you out.

He always shares his personal life stories to lighten up the mood in class. i'm taking him for summer school and was worried that it would be extremely hard since i took 150A like 2 years ago. He assigns very little hw and goes over the one u have trouble with. his tests are ez and he's ez on grading.

oh my gosh!!! mr. bui is THE niciest teacher ever. He's such a sweetheart because he tries so hard to help his students understand. He has an asian accent and makes a lot of jokes about it.. so he's really chill. He makes sure that you can do a problem if you have any doubts about it. You only turn in homework once a week. Tests are cheese.

One of the greatest math teachers I ever met. His teaching style is straight to the point and clear. No blah-blah. Then goes right into exercises. What a perfect way to learn math. You ask a question, it will be answered right where the problem lies. He was a bit homework-heavy, but those were the types of problems on the test. Great Guy!!!!!!

Great guy..super patient..always willing to help. One minus, he doesn't allow notes on the tests BUT the questions are straight from the homework! So as long as you do that..the test are a breeze!! He's also got a sense of humor which helps. Highly recommend.

I took him during the summer. He gives plenty of extra credit and gives enough homework to make you understand the concepts of calculus or whatever you might be taking. He grades on a curve. He tries to be funny and make his students feel relaxed and unintimidated. He is always willing to help out as well. Take him.

This guy makes math understandable for everyone. He only lectures for half of the class then he lets you go early. He gives you a huge extra credit opportunity at the end of the semester to buffer you final test. The best math teacher students are looking for. we do all of our homework in his class instead of doing in-class assignments. in doing so, you would have all the work done before you take it home for homework... that leaves you time to finish your other hard to-do homework from your classes. Good teacher. It was a little difficult to understand him sometimes, but he's also a really funny guy. His tests were multiple choice, which was nice, and we only used the textbook for HW. He also went over every ? we had on the HW. He also gave us a 30 pt extra credit assignment.

I would totally recommend him! His english is not perfect but it is understandable. What better teacher that lets you do the H.w in class & get help with it. He is very funny aswell makes math fun. I will start out by saying that math is definitely not my forte, but prof. bui really made it more understandable for me. it may be hard to understand him at first but he ALWAYS answers any questions a student may ask. Funny, gives you breaks (during summer). I hate math, I got a D the first time I took him, I didn't do the extra credit packet. I took him again I passed with C after taking the extra packet. Do not listen to any of the comments from reviewers who took math 100 or less. seriously, those are basic math courses taught in middle schools and sometimes elementary! I love prof Bui. my favorite quality is his personality. he is very nice and helpful to all of us. he is understanding about making simple algebra errors on test (im in calc 2) and doesn't mark you down unless it is an error in calculus part of the problem. thank you for all of your help Prof Bui!!!

Professor Bui is a great teacher who is passionate about teaching. He really goes into depth of each problem. The only downfall, which is quite a big downfall, is the MyMathLab program required to do homework. That program is absolutely no help. The homework is disorganized and irrelevant. Hopefully all math classes will drop this hinderance.

If you do the practice tests and show up to class you're basically going to pass. There is no book to buy because he has you do the homework on MyMathLab. The extra credit took my grade from an 85% to a 91% after the final. The tests are almost identical to the practice tests provided by MyMathLab. He's super nice and always willing to help.

Hilarious guy, the class uses Pearson mymathlab which gives soo much homework. The tests were only 20 questions and multiple choice which made it hard to get an A plus no partial credit. He does give 30 extra credit points added to the final which helps your grade quite a bit. Don't take this class if you don't plan on putting in the work.

This makes it even easier because plugging options into equations is often quicker than solving the problem. Lecture time is just going over examples. With many titles under his name, Professor Bui proves to be a valuable individual when it comes to learning new material. He provides you with a healthy and a bit comedic environment within the classroom. Summa-Cum-Laude had been awarded to him in 1995 at UCLA. Magna-Cum-Laude as well in 1999 at UCI. These are hard awards to earn. I recommend him!

He is good at making sure everyone understands the lesson before moving on to the next part. You will need to purchase an access code for the homework. The score you get on the final exam review is added to your final exam grade. All exams are multiple choice.

This professor is great at making sure you understand if you ask questions. All of the homework is on mastering which helps prepare you for the online exams. His in-person exams are easier than the online ones. Overall, I would take this professor again, just do all the assignments on time and participate in class.

I took him for statistics and college algebra, he cares about his students only if you show that you care about the class. Therefore, participate and ask him questions. Mr. Bui is a caring professor. I took EW due to family circumstances. Due to my mistake for not turning in a NONPASS. He went out his way to contact admission to obtain an EW for me instead an F grade or NONPASS. I truly appreciate for what he has done.

I thought he was a great teacher, his online class is pretty straightforward. Calc 1 is not an easy course. You will have to study on your own and hw may take a few hours. However, Minh is one of the best math teachers. He doesn't care if you have the stupidest elementary questions, he will answer it with no judgment. Extra credit and partial points on exams. You have to do the work to get an A! Great prof. for a hard class.

Professor Bui is a very humorous and caring math instructor, and a great one, too. He does extensively use MyMathLab, just a heads up. He does require that you take a mandatory Review Assessment before exams. Only difference between exams and review are the numbers. Also, if you take the review, you get extra credit, so don't forget to do that!

I took his 6 week summer course which was great! Stats is a hard class as it is, and he sincerely wants the whole class to pass and is extremely helpful! Professor Bui lectures pretty well if you have an understanding of math. If you struggle with math, it could be a bit hard for you. He has old lecture videos, notes, and other sources if you miss class. The homework was long but easy. His test was easy if you understood the material and gave lots of extra credit. Minh is a great professor who really cares about his students and their success in class. He does however use pearson so be prepared. The homework is often tedious and long but he's a great guy so it balances out. No stupid questions in this class so don't be scared of being judged! He also does give extra credit as others have pointed out.

Truly one of the most caring professors. There are no stupid questions in this class so don't be afraid to ask! He really wants you to learn the material. Be prepared because he does use Pearson. Pearson sucks! However, it all balanced out with how great of a person he is. He also jokes a lot in class and has a true passion for teaching.

Professor Bui is a very caring person. Lots of assignments each week, but they help balance out the gradebook. You can fail one of the exam and still pass with a B. You have 2 attempts on exams and three attempts for chapter quizzes. He grades by completion of the project, discussions, and exams. Definitely take him for other math sequences.

College Algebra is a time consuming and hard course but Professor Bui made it manageable! There are 3 exams and weekly homework. Homework is based on completion so don't skip an assignment. Professor Bui is a really nice guy & one of my fav professors. He is there to help you and wants you to succeed. Will take him for other math courses.

However you feel about math, I would suggest Bui's class. He loves mathematics and knows his course material in/out. Lots of extra cred/second chances; Allows you to take every exam home to make corrections, then average the scores. Bui grades extremely fast, you will know your score within 48 hrs. Attendance is highly suggested, but not mandatory.

The dude is 10/10 teacher. I looked at others when I signed up for my classes late and I thought he was going to make me want to drop out of college and become a salesman, but to my surprise, his lectures are good!!! I looked at others when I signed up for my classes late and I thought he was going to make me want to drop out of college and become a salesman, but to my surprise, his lectures are good!!! Grade comprised solely of quizzes, tests, & homework. His lectures are great. Watch his recorded lectures before coming class. Slightly faster-paced, but always willing to help explain more. You get 3 attempts on quizzes and two on exam. He lets you have a cheat sheet and he makes the questions simple. He wants students to succeed and it shows.

Homework is highly recommended, and they reinforce what you learn in the lecture. Review exams & final are very similar to what appears on the actual midterm & final. Overall, he's pretty easy. If he taught Calculus 2 in Fall 2023, I would take him but sadly he doesn't.

Prof. Bui is super nice and friendly! This class has a lot of homework (and MyMathLab makes everything 100x more stressful) but as long as you don't cram it all over the weekend, it's doable. My biggest exam tip is to re-do ALL of the in-class lecture problems and make a study guide of concepts and equations. Finished the class with a 101% :)

Great professor! He is very clear in his explanations and will answer any questions you might have. I recommend taking thorough notes and doing the homework every night to keep on track with the class easier. DO the review exam problems before test days. They're good for preparation and give you an idea of what to expect.

Very interested in his subject, and an enthusiastic teacher is usually a better one. Tries to bring in historical examples and brainteasers into the theory/proofs class. If you do the homework, you will do good at least a B in his class. Overall, very friendly professor, he wants what is best for student, definitely recommend him!

TAKE HIM if you want to go to STEM major. Do your homework and ask questions, and you will pass with an A. He treats everyone as though they're the most important person in the class. Also he is very entertaining and says a lot of funny stuff. He really care about each student. He tries look for anyway to give the student the most possible points.

I loved taking Professor Bui! Took this class for credit. I absolutely hate math and wanted to avoid it all costs and was very hesitant to take this class over the summer but I am so happy I chose Professor Bui. He cares about every single student and is very understanding. He makes the lectures as understandable as possible and open for questions.

Online calc: Lots of online homework, was moderate. But harder than exams by alot. 2 exams online and 2 in person. Study guide identical to exams. The teacher is compassionate and cares for students. The lectures can be kinda boring but short 20 min max. Just need to set time for this class and actually pay attention.

very easy professor. I took his class over the summer and it was extremely easy to understand. He gives so much extra credit its almost impossible not to pass his class. His lectures is very direct and simple. I took his class during high school and it was prob the best class I was ever in as a 16 year old.

Prof Bui is a funny guy! He breaks down the concepts easier than the book. I highly recommend watching the pre-lecture videos to better understand the actual lectures! The online Pearson hw sucks, but his exams are way easier! Just study the lecture notes, and his exams are similar! He's open to questions, and available during office hours!

Really kind professor. You can tell he wants you to succeed. He walks you through the equations every lecture. It's very clear and simple. He tries his best to give you as many opportunities as he can to get you that A. He has lots of side comments about the statistic problems we go over too. Honestly, he's a kind-hearted guy.

I am terrible at math and had to retake this class but this prof really tries to look out for students. There were 2 exams and a final. Each exam had a multiple choice section and a free response. As long as you do the homework and participate in the discussions and the group project, you will at least get a B.

Professor Bui's class is pretty straightforward. He explains concepts clearly, and as long as you do the work, you'll likely do well. I found Unstuckstudy super helpful for extra practice and review.

He reminds me of a silly dad. Lectures can get tedious (classes are long), but he's great at conveying material clearly + we usually get let out about an hour early. Canvas is very organized. Weekly assignments and quizzes, as well as multiple choice parts of exams are taken at home. For free response, he tells us what'll be asked. What an easy A.

Professor Bui is an amazing teacher. The first couple of weeks were full of remedial information that was very helpful in regaining my footing in a math class. He teaches primarily through lectures and problems on the board. He has videos of each of his lessons on Canvas. He also loves telling corny dad jokes but they help lighten the mood.

Professor Minh was a good teacher overall, I have no complaints. He is willing to work with you if you were willing to do your part. Good dude too.

I took his classes over zoom in 2021. He was patient in answering questions and gave many math examples/scenarios for us to understand the topics. Lots of homework but definetely helped a lot during exams! Pay attention during class and do your homework and you will be good in his exams! He also gave extra credit assignments which helped my grade.

Pretty good professor. He is very knowledgeable and workload isn't bad. He offers meetings through Zoom and is very open to helping students. One downside of taking his online class is the 2-part group project. It was difficult to get everyone together especially since it isn't in person. Be ready to carry everyone if nobody responds to you. :(

Professor Bui is the best! He explains the concepts well and I always felt comfortable asking for clarification on parts I didn't understand. Just beware it's an extremely homework heavy class. I'm talking 30+ questions/chapter. It's very easy to fall behind and loose points.

Took this class in spring 2025. He has a clear grading criteria from the start as well as extra credit for reviews (Which you should do). the class consist of lectures and then homework (Hosted on pearson). Exams are split between FRQ and MCQ. You'll be able to retake the MCQ and correct the FRQ for partial credit (DO THIS). Would recomend!!!!!

I took professor Bui during this 2025 summer. It was fast paced but very good professor. He definitely cares about your grade. So if you bad in an exam, he lets u recover at least one higher grade on it. I think by far one of the best math professors i've taken in FC.

If you're thinking about taking his class this semester, I recommend Professor Bui. I took Math 120 with him last spring. He is knowledgeable, approachable, and always willing to help. The course is engaging and the exams can be challenging, but he provides thorough review materials. Bonus: The textbook is free and he is very accessible.
