Minh Nguyen was an outstanding teacher. I'd recommend her to anyone taking Precalc 141. She is always very helpful, you can go to her in the math lab with anything you don't understand and she will spend the time to clarify it for you. Too bad she only teaches 141 as of now. I'd really like to have her for a course again.

I loved Miss Minh, but I also love math. Some people in my class who weren't as good at math didn't have an easy time. However, she puts in so much effort and is super accessible for help. If you come to class everyday, do the homework, and get help when you need it, you will probably pass. She does have a strong accent but you get used to it.

Ms. Nguyen is an amazing teacher. She explains all concepts well. The quizzes and tests are similar to homework, which i recommend you do, and she gives test reviews that are similar to the test. She is always there to help students out. She gives a lot of extra credit out and especially to the people who need it.

Easiest class I ever have. Test are very similar to homework and stuff we did in class. I never did a single homework and still get an A. She give out a lot of extra credit that, like 2 or more for every quizzes and test. I think we get like 10 extra credit for the final (14 if you go to class the last day).

If you answer a question on the board theres a 80% chance that she'll give you extra credit. at first i hated her but after the first few weeks she became the best math teacher ever. very clear expectations and she gives study guides for the tests which are EXACTLY the same as the test PLUS she lets you use one half sheet of paper double sided. she is so good at teaching and gives XC for homework and participation daily. highly recommend!

Sure, this class isn't an easy A but I learned a lot. She gives great lectures and as long as you take notes and pay attention you will do fine. Her quizzes are almost exactly the same as homework questions, and a few of them are group quizzes, too. The final was extremely difficult but you have a ton of opportunities for extra credit in her class.

She's intimidating at first, but she's a fantastic teacher. If you study her lectures, tests and quizzes are easy. She's also in the math lab most days and is very helpful with answering questions. She cares about whether you get a good grade, but she doesn't just hand it to you.

She was the best math teacher I have ever had. She explained everything really well. The homework is almost identical to the tests and quizzes so if you do it then you will definitely pass. She also curves each test and quiz by adding 2-5 extra points to each grade. I would take her again!

Mihn is a very nice lady, she has a thick accent but you get used to it after a day or so. Her lectures are very straight forward. She is a harsh grader but pretty much all the questions you see on the tests you will have seen as problems she went over in class or did in the homework. She also gives out extra points very regularly during class.

Anything covered in the lectures was on the tests and quizzes and everything was done on paper. On every single quiz and test without exception, she put at least a one point curve, depending on how the class did. There was a lecture every day and she took the time to explain everything. I would really recommend taking her class!!!!

She is really tough, however she really helped me succeed in math. Attend her office hours, she wants you to pass the class. She gave out a lot of extra credit too. Ask lots of questions and sit up front and take lots of notes. The problems she uses in class are ones she puts on tests sometimes so pay attention!

His accent is extremely heavy but trust me you will get used to it fast. lectures on the white board with neat handwriting and if you participate you get one extra credit point. He is heavy on extra credit if you participate!! I finished the quarter with 30+ extra credit points (a quiz is 30) very kind guy cares about your success if you do.

If you can't understand what she is presenting, you can ask her for explain it again. If you dn't know how to solve hard problems, you can come to see her during her office hour or at Lab center; she's always ready to help you. Definitely one of my favorite professors. She made me become interested in math. She will HELP YOU and wants you to succeed. She expects a lot out of her students which you will understand if you learn what she has overcome in her life. She is not one for the niceties and small talk, but she really cares whether you understand. She is willing to explain until you get it. Thick accent but you get used to it quickly. Attendance points each day, assignments done with a partner. If you put in the work, you will get an A.

I had Minh for both math 141 and 142, for the first couple of weeks in 141 I did not like her at all, but I realized that was all on me and all I had to do was study for the class. She made me go from hating math to loving math in the course of a couple of weeks, in both 141 and 142 I had over 100% in her class. Nothing but respect for Minh!

Minh has been one of the best math teachers Ive had, through 141 and 142 I had Minh. If you do the homework and study you likely will finish with close to 100% but Minh makes it all about hard work.

Minh Nguyen helped make sense out of high school level algebra for me. I didn't have any good math teachers in high school and he helped catch me up. He is a wonderful professor that wants you to succeed. He helps you and gives you wonderful feedback. He's funny. Just make sure you do your work and show up to class and you'll be okay.

If you don't understand the material, go to the math lab. When you see her there, ask her questions. She goes step-by-step with her explanation.

For 142 the grade was based on 3 tests, 1 final exam and attendance. Don't miss the tests. She wants her students to succeed. She gave plenty of opportunities to earn extra credit.

If you EVER walk into a math class and expect an easy A, then don't hope for it. Minh makes the course easy, tho. Minh isn't bad, has an accent but by the end of first day you'll get used to it. Sit in the front row cause her writing is super small. Copy down all examples from the board if you know you might have trouble with hw. She gives a list of problems that will be on test/quiz/final the day before so hard to fail unless you haven't even looked at it.

This was a very easy class for me as it was a lot of algebra 2 review. Homework isn't required but Minh gives a lot of extra credit for doing it. You will get used to Minh's accent pretty fast. Before the final, I had 102% and one of my friends had 107%. She let us have a cheat sheet on the final. She emails you your grades after every quiz or test

I took this course during summer; my last quarter. Even with the accelerated cirriculum, this class isn't too difficult. Minh is very knowledgable of the material and is straight to the point. Probably one of the better teachers here. While some may see her as difficult she is fair. Go to class regularly and do the homework and you will do fine.

Really clear lectures. The homework is only for practice but that's nice since it makes it optional. She's available a lot outside of class and her syllabus is really nice and detailed. I loved that we had such an exact schedule for the year and stuck to it.

Very efficient, as in she goes fast and covers a lot. Explains things well and works through every topic so you know how to do it. She's really invested in her students, so if you ask her, she'll help you to get a good grade. A lot of opportunity for extra credit. Going to class is essential to passing, however.

Minh was an interesting teacher that I've taken, in a good way. My first impression of her was totally different from what I think of her now. At first, it seemed like she is strict and everything, but she is caring and wants you to learn. Although I didn't receive the best grade from her class, I learned a lot from her tough love.

This class was pretty good. As long as you pay attention and ask questions you'll be fine. She has an accent that sometimes makes it hard to understand but you'll get used to it. And if you need help outside of class she'll be at the math lab. There's a lot of extra credit opportunities like participation and hw :) I ended up with over 100% XD

On the first day of class, she started the lecture right away so prepare for that & READ the syllabus. Seems very tough at first but you will learn to love her when you get a chance to talk 1 on 1. Recommend making a discord with your class to help keep up. Fast teaching but a lot of extra credit opportunities. Always ask questions & take notes

I have taken Nguyen twice now, for Math 141&142. She really scared me at first and instantly went into lectures without introduction. However, as I got to know her, the more I liked her. If you attend the lectures, read the syllabus closely, and do the work you should be fine. Her accent is sometimes difficult, but she gives LOTS of extra credit.

In my opinion, she's a great professor. She's great at teaching and the lectures are helpful. She also has an accent but you'll get used to it. She gives extra credit whenever you volunteer or turn in hw. Hw is optional. She also encourages you to work with other people during tests and quizzes. The final is option if you have a B or higher.

3 quarters with her. Classes are mandatory, never went to a class and she never noticed or cared. Quizzes&Tests almost every week with a time of 5hours to even 24hours, also allows you to work with friends and a heavy load of extra credit options. You do well on quizzes&tests? You get to skip the final too. Love this class

The grade in the class is made up of exams. Homework isn't graded, but recommended to do. You can easily get extra credit by submitting the homework, participating in lectures, and submitting the exams on time. There are five exams, and she allows you three days to work on it and allows you to work with others as well. Explains the work well too.

The best math teacher I've ever had. 5 tests total, 3 days to do each, and we're allowed to use the textbook and work together with other students. Questions are challenging but just to the right degree so our skills still develop. Along with this, extra credit basically every week and the final is optional. TAKE THIS CLASS.

Good teacher, lots of extra credit points for even just participating in meetings. Accent is the only hard thing to get used to, but other than that she is a great teacher, and good at teaching math. Homework is also Extra Credit.

Professor Nguyen is good at teaching, but isn't very patient. There are 4 tests and 1 final. Lots of extra credit. There's even group tests sometimes. If you pay attention in class and do the homework, you'll get an A.

3 tests and one final but lets you skip the final if you do good on the 3 tests which is great. Definitely accessible outside of class and willing to help, but my class was asynchronous so I didn't learn much. Allows cheat sheets on tests which is amazing. Wish I reached out for help from her earlier in the quarter. A little rude but not terrible.

Will always be available during math lab. Lots of extra credit and you can get partial credit on test questions. Always a practice test posted beforehand which is crucial to do for tests. Genuinely hard to understand so sit in the front.

This professor was all around just a great person and a great teacher. The lesson material was well planned out, the test prep material was also very helpful. If you needed any help, the professor was very available outside of class. I would recommend this professor to anybody wanting to take Calculus I!

He gives out a lot of extra credit opportunities which can massively boost your grade, but for the most part you have to learn all of this yourself through the textbook and homework or show up to his (very early) morning lectures. These lectures aren't recorded, meaning that once the lecture on that specific lesson ends, you can't rewatch it.

He has a thick accent, but it's easy to understand after a while. He also gives out a lot of extra credit, which helped a lot. We were allowed to skip the final test if we completed all our homework on time, but I think it varies depending on how well the class grades are. And he's sometimes sassy and side eyes his students, it's pretty funny.

This class is easy when you actually commit to studying for it, everything on the study guide is on the exams, like almost word for word. Professor Nguyen does have a pretty thick accent but otherwise, he's pretty good. He gives a load of extra credit (probably raised my grade 5%) and his practice tests are nearly the same as the actual tests with some of the questions even being the same.
