I didn't have too much interest in the class but after taking the class, I really enjoyed it. The professor is great and she's willing to work with any students who need more help.
I really enjoy this class. She was very helpful and tried to make class fun. Although her instructions were vague at times, I found it easy to just do what I can and talk about it with her the next day. Lots of extra credits!
She is very understanding when it comes to work and tests. The class has a bit of homework but tests are easy as she posts a near identical practice test the night before. Easy with prior knowledge of Vietnamese, Hell without. 8/10 because I didn't have the best work ethic but still came out with an A.
One of the best teacher at UGA. She cares about her students and always puts us first. The class has improved not only my Vietnamese skills, but also my knowledge on the Vietnamese's culture. Everyday in class is full of laughter and fun. Definitely recommend this class if you want to learn a new language, have fun, and an easy grade!
Ms. Trang the best teacher I've had in college. She really cares for her students. Every day in class is filled with learning, laughter, and love. You will bond with your classmates, and you will come to love Co Trang. I definitely recommend this teacher if you want to learn Vietnamese!
TAKE HER! She genuinely cares for her students and uses various activities for you to learn. It's a fun and interactive class!
You should definitely take this class!!! Ms. Trang is such a great teacher. She really cares about her students and I've learned a lot.
Ms Trang is absolutely one of the best teachers I've had at UGA. She's kind and very helpful, and is really passionate about teaching Vietnamese. This is the only class in which I've made friends which last outside of class.Even though this class was sometimes hard for me, Ms Trang always made an effort to make sure I was learning and felt at home.
Cô Trang is the best teacher ever! She is very helpful and understanding. She is like a second mother to me. She makes everything easy to understand and gives as many examples for you. She always put her students above everything. She is the SWEETEST teacher ever and anyone who takes her will DEFINITELY LOVE HER!!
She is one of the best teachers I've ever had. Really. It's like a family in the class when you are learning, not just a couple of students learning vietnamese.
Co Trang is such an amazing teacher! She truly cares about her students, and will work tirelessly to help you get an A. Make sure you do your reading logs on time, and try not to be late to class. I really enjoyed this class, and I look forward to taking the 2001 level in the fall!
Co Trang is a wonderful teacher. You will not regret taking her class. I came in alone and left with a family. Make sure you follow her assignment schedule so you won't get lost.
I have never had a teacher who cared more for her students. Her class is a lot of busy work but you will hardly notice.
Co Trang is a phenomenal teacher. She cares so much for her student, and it shows in the way she teaches. Vietnamese class not only strengthened my language skills but it gave me a class to look forward to and friends to call family. Love this class! P.S. Make sure you do your homework and reading logs. If you wait too long, they tend to pile up.
Co Trang is an amazing professor. She truly cares for her students and shows it with her sleepless nights. I have never met a more dedicated person in my life that had such a passion to teach and empower our youth. Truly, a great class because of a great professor.
Best professor at UGA, hands down.
Best professor at UGA. I have learned a lot about Vietnamese culture as well as making how to speak Vietnamese better. Tests aren't bad and the assignments help you to learn Vietnamese better.
This the language professor to take at uga. You do a lot of fun activities in class like singing and doing cultural Vietnamese things. Not at all hard.
Love, love, love Co Trang's class. She is hands-down the best professor at UGA. She truly cares about her students, and she's very passionate about teaching. Her enthusiasm encourages students to participate in class. I have learned so much more about the Vietnamese culture and language in the last three semester than I have in my entire lifetime.
Finding a professor that not only cares about her students but is passionate and understanding and interesting is not an easy task but Co Trang is all of the above. She's adorable, sweet, and is extremely dedicated and ensures that her students are understanding the material. Her class is something I always look forward to, even with the busy work.
By far the best teacher I ever had in my life. She loves participation, so if you do, you get "volunteer" points which are basically extra points added to your assignments and grade! There's a good amount of work but it isn't hard at all. You use the textbook for hw, but not to learn. Honestly dont think you need a book. Just borrow a friend's :)
I just love her. Show that you care about the language and you'll do more than fine and learn a lot. That's bae trang.
She cares a lot about her students and it's very obvious through her lectures. Great teacher and very caring.
She is my favorite professor I've had at UGA by far. She is so sweet and really cares about her students. She is always there if you have any questions and as long as you pay attention, study the study guides (really), and show you care, you'll do fine. I'm not a native speaker and got an A, so don't be worried about that. Take this class please!
The best professor I've had at UGA. She truly cares about all her students and wants them to succeed. There will be many homework assignments but they're not hard at all. She gives extra credit if you volunteer to answer questions so participate! She also teaches you a lot about the Vietnamese culture in fun, exciting ways. 100% would recommend
Best professor ever!
Co Trang is the best, although I would have to say having prior knowledge is incredibly helpful. She is so passionate about wanting you to learn Viet. There is a lot of homework and things needed to be done in this class but it is worth it. 10/10
Co Trang is absolutely the best professor! She really cares about you learning the actual material and is always there to help. She does give a lot of homework but only takes 10 minutes to do. She teaches in a way that encourages the students to learn. Recommend 100000/10!
I don't recommend being a Viet minor if you're not a native speaker. Upper Level classes in Viet will not be easy if you're not proficient in conversational Viet. It'll make learning in this class frustrating and as much as she wants to help you, she can't hold your hand every minute in class. This isn't the case for most people, but food for think
The annoying thing is that Co Trang is inconsistent with what's she assigns as homework versus what she said on the course schedule is homework. If you didn't listen carefully to what's said in class, you'll miss like 4 homework assignments due on the same day. She's strict about homework too in her upper level courses. No Make ups.
I love taking classes with her. If youre worried about the difficulties of getting the Viet minor, dont. Its not any more difficult than any other minor and shell work with you as much as she can to make sure youre able to learn as much as you can. If youre willing to put in the effort, theres not any kind of impossible obstacle.
Co Trang is a phenomenal instructor. I have taken Viet 1001 through Viet 3002. I love her classes because she goes above and beyond to teach you the culture, the language and the beauty of Vietnam. I love Vietnamese so much that I decided to pursue a minor (very doable and very worthwhile)! Co Trang makes sure you succeed in class and in life!
Co Trang is for sure one of my favorite professors. While most of the people to take it has prior viet knowledge, she does try her best for each student to be successful in the course. The class is a pretty easy A and you typically have to try to end up making anything less than a A-. She a huge heart and I am happy to have taken her class.
Co Trang is one of the best professors at UGA. She is very caring of her students, and her teaching methods is top notch.
Co Trang is honestly a great teacher that cares about her student through the use of fun activities and understandable homework assignments. It might be hard at first in the class, but once you get into the second week you should be doin fine! If u want to take a language course with a teacher who cares about her student, take Co Trang.
Cô Trang is a wonderful professor. She genuinely cares about her students and their comprehension of the course. For assignments, she allows corrections, and she offers time before and after class for questions. Vietnamese has definitely been my favorite class taken at the University of Georgia!!
She is very caring and very understanding. She will do her absolute best to make sure that your vietnamese will improve. All of the students that have taken her class respect her and love her.
Professor Trang is an amazing person! She's fantastic at making the course content comprehensive to native/non-native speakers and learning is always fun in her class. She cares about all of her students, and she will make sure you understand everything. Make sure to attend class bc she reviews a lot of vocab and complete the book work/discussions!
I absolutely enjoyed having class with this teacher! She encourages participation in class because it really helps you learn a new language. There is a lot of assignments and class is 4 days a week, but that is pretty typical for a beginners language class because the more you hear the language around you, the better you can understand it.
Professor Trang is an amazing professor that truly deserves the best. The really cares about her students and wants to encourage to learn Vietnamese language and culture by telling us to participate in class. She can tell when someone isn't participating so PARTICIPATE IN CLASS. Participation is REQUIRED. Very well then. Off I go.
Participation matters! You have to work for your grade xdxdxd
My favorite teacher at UGA. shes so nice and makes coming to class really fun. Class is easy and theres plenty of opportunity for extra credit.
She cares a lot about her students. She ensures that every student has a chance to pass and makes sure to help each and everyone of them until they all understand the content.
Not only one of the nicest professors you'll ever meet, but one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. She goes out of her way to help anyone with anything they need, course-related or not, and she has a genuine passion for what she does. If you ever have the chance to even take one class of Viet, I highly recommend you do.
Personally not a fan of this class because Co Trang doesn't provide sufficient guidance to students on generating the paper. She doesn't have office hours to personally meet with you and squeezes in time to chat 5 minutes in between classes which isn't enough. This research course is largely self-paced, so you gotta make sure your on top of things.
VIET 3990 is the EASIEST of all her Viet classes (I have taken VIET 1002 all the way up to VIET 3990) as long as you do what you're supposed to do! Professor Trang met up with us WEEKLY to discuss our readings and discussion logs that would help us with our paper. She was ALWAYS accessible outside of class and did everything to help us!
It was one of the best classes I've taken. Lots of hw, but less so than the STEM classes. Also tons of makeup opportunities for hw and discussions. At the end, she gives you a list of what you need to turn in (personalized). You have 1 or 2 weeks to do it. She's also very helpful and caring. If ur struggling, u in good hands. Co Trang is "da best"!
She encourages students to learn through experience (Includes MANY fun Interactive activites). After practicing within the classroom, she sometimes make plans to let us practice in the real world. Ex: She brought us to a restaurant to allow us to practice Viet with the waitress. She was even willing to help pay for food if students lacked funds.
Cô Trang is an amazing professor who is proficient at teaching and is also a very caring person. Class lectures are taught in Vietnamese to better familiarize yourself with the language and participation is highly recommended to effectively understand the concepts. She is very accomodating to her students and gives her all to help you learn.
This class was very inspirational and worthwhile to take. Professor Trang gives a lot of feedback to help any students who are struggling. Like any other language course, it'll have its work load, and because this is an upper level VIET course you'll have outside work; however, it is much easier than the STEM courses! She allows makeup work!
Cô Trang is probably the kindest and most generous person youll ever meet. Aside from learning about Vietnamese culture, Ive also learned so many important life lessons that Ill continue to refer to in the future. She is extremely accommodating and will help you no matter what. I learned a lot from her, both in professional and personal aspects.
Cô Trang is honestly one of the most influential professors ever. She cares deeply for her students and will always make sure they are taken care of, whether that is academically or personally. The class has a bit of a workload but they are easy! Make-up works are also allowed! Overall, Cô Trang is amazing, both as a person and a professor.
Love her. I'm taking another class she's teaching next fall.
Co Trang is just amazing!
She is a very good professor. It is obvious that she cares a lot about her class and is very helpful and passionate with making sure her students understand the content. You will have to speak a lot and present things with groups very often, but there is almost always extra credit involved and she is very helpful even if you're shy.
She is the best professor at UGA hands-down. She is the most caring professor I know and I really hope to take her class again in the future. There is a lot of homework in this course, but they're not all TOO hard. The course itself is rather easy but you must put in the effort to make an A in the class. That means participate and you will be okay.
Cô Trang is simply the most amazing teacher you will ever have. Whether you're an absolute beginner at Vietnamese or someone with prior knowledge, she cares so much about what you learn. I know so much more about not only the Vietnamese language, but the culture itself. I highly recommend you take Vietnamese with Cô Trang, you will not regret it.
Cô Trang is a great teacher that always wants the best for us. She often brings food in and is really supportive of us. The work isnt difficult at all and as long as you try your best you will get an A.
Cô trang is one of the best professors at UGA. I enjoy going to her classes everytime. Shes very lax and only wants you to succeed and to learn some vietnamese.
My favorite teacher hands down. I will do anything for her. She is the kindest, most caring person ever and she honestly deserves the world for how much concern she has for her students. She teaches in a different style that most professors because it is a language class, meaning interactive. I love this class so much and I'm sad that I can't stay.
Amazing professor and cares about the students. Lots of participation needed but as long as you do your work, its an easy A.
She will work with you if you have any problems and need help with Vietnamese. As long as you do the work and have a bit of effort this class is an easy A.
She is very very very nice! She explains thoroughly and is easygoing. Take her :)
The most caring person I have ever met. Take her! She is literally the best out there for this class! She will make sure you understand and feel welcome.
Very sweet and passionate about her students learning Vietnamese. cares for everyone of her students
Co Trang is super nice and her class is also very easy, for me at least as a native speaker. There are mostly group projects, barely any homework, and based on participation. She is also great at giving lectures and grabs your attention very well.
Kind, caring, and wants the best for you. Just attend class and participate and it is an easy A.
Genuinely cares about her students. She felt like a professor and family member at the same time the way she treated us. Homework was mainly weekly discussion posts, but they weren't difficult. She encourages students to go up and participate by writing on the board or reading. She responds to emails quickly and tries to help as much as she can.
Definitely recommend taking Co Trang's class even if you are not a native speaker. She is super caring of her students like a mother and even brought food for us! Lectures are very interactive and fun for students to learn, and there are a few group projects that aren't too difficult. I was able to learn a lot and had a lot of fun!
She is the most caring professor you'll meet. She genuinely cares so much about every one of her students. You can really tell she loves what she's doing and is passionate about teaching younger people about her language and culture. She is always enthusiastic about what we are learning and is very happy to give good grades. Easy tests and quizzes.
Co Trang is the best teacher I've ever had when it comes to personality. She is very caring and easy to approach. Her teaching style is a bit unorthodox and might be troubling for non-native speakers. Regardless, you'll get an A in the class easily. Lots of participation but you'll get close to your classmates anyways.
Co Trang is 100% the best teacher I have ever had. She is more like a parental figure who wants to see us succeed. She is super chill, easy going, and understanding. The class itself is not too hard as the knowledge from VIET1001 carries over very well. You will participate lots but you will get used to it. Class assignments can be silly though.
Take her!! She's the best
im in love with her. she's so sweet and kind, and you can tell she truly cares for her students! i plan on going as far as i can with her!
Very swag teahcher
Co Trang is amazing. She is so kind and deeply loves all of her students. She will bend over backwards to make sure you succeed if you show that you really are interested in learning VIET. She understands that VIET is a hard language to learn and doesn't expect you to be perfect. Only complaint is that sometimes class is a little disorganized.
Co Trang is my favorite professor I've ever had here at UGA. Compared to other professors, she genuinely cares for each of her students and is a wonderful person overall. She is a very lenient test grader too so that's a plus! Would recommend taking her if you need a language!!! :)
She is an amazing professor and will grade you on your effort and improvement overall. Even if you make plenty mistakes, as long as she sees you are trying and improving she will be a lenient grader. You can tell she loves her students because she shows off previous students' projects like a proud parent. She even bought us bánh mì!
CO TRANG IS THE GOAT!!! She's so sweet and genuinely wants all her students to succeed and be happy. Taking Viet with her was so fun, and she explained everything in such a clear and engaging way. She's very lenient and understanding and treats everyone like her own family. Her projects were also fun and exams are straight from the study guides.
Co Trang is the best professor I have had! She is very caring to her students, especially if you make an effort to show up every day and participate in class. She bought us food on the last day!
She is the sweetest professor you will ever find. Genuinely cares about her students. She makes it very hard to fail even the most menial of tasks. You won't find a better teacher
Co Trang is a fantastic teacher who strives to motivate her students to learn the Vietnamese language and culture. While learning the course content was difficult, Co Trang assisted us when needed and provided supplemental materials to deepen our appreciation for the language and reinforce what we learned in class. Would take again!
Amazing professor who obviously cares about her students. The class is structured to make learning Vietnamese accessible to beginners, and Co Trang is helpful and always willing to help. Take her if you can!
Cô Trang is the best professor I have had at UGA. She is genuinely so nice and kind, and she cares about every student and wants us to succeed. If you participate in class and study, then it should be easy to get a good grade. Continue to take her class if you can!!!
absolutely amazing teacher! she's very caring and wants to make sure you really understand the language and the literature. there's quite a few group projects but they're very easy and quick to do!
Co Trang is one of the best teachers I've had here at UGA. She is so kind and caring. She truly cares about her students and is so passionate about teaching us Vietnamese. She always makes class engaging and fun for her students! If you want to learn Vietnamese or get better at it, do yourself a favor and take her class. You will not regret it.
Co Trang is an amazing teacher. She cares a lot about her students and makes class beyond enjoyable. Participation is important in her class as it shows that you're learning and understanding the lesson for that day. I never have to stress about exams or quizzes since she provides plenty of study material and opportunities to do well.
As someone who has lost touch with their Vietnamese side and wants to reconnect with it, Co Trang's class at UGA is the best way to do it. She not only teaches you how to read, write, speak, and listen in Vietnamese, but she also exposes you to important aspects of Vietnamese culture, such as the Vietnamese New Year.
One of the best classes I've ever taken! As someone who didn't know the language I feel like my knowledge grew significantly and Ive come a long way! She clearly cares about what she does and her students so don't be scared to ask for help!!
She is the best teacher I have ever had! She is caring and dependable no matter if it is in class or out of class. She is always responsive and her #1 priority is her students. If you have the chance to take her I would recommend 10/10
Great professor! Co Trang structures the class very well and teaches students effectively by matching our pace and learning style! Her in-class activities and assignments are very helpful and make learning Vietnamese very fun! I wish I could take this class again!
Undoubtedly the best professor I have ever had during my academic career. Extremely welcoming and knowledgeable, great lecturer, and very kind to her students
Super fun prof and class that gave many extra credit opportunities. Played Blooket a lot and did lots of group projects based on culture rather than language so understanding the language and grammar wasn't the entire course.
This has to be the easiest class in the entire university. Co Trang, as usual, is a very caring and kind professor. She definitely does her best to help you when you need it, but the lack of structure compared to previous classes was a disappointment. Classes can be monotonous and seemingly unproductive, but it's very relaxed and a grade booster
Cô Trang is a really sweet teacher and she cares about her students. However, I'm never taking Viet again, because the course has no clear structure. At the beginning, we had vocab lists but that disappeared and we're then just expected to know words after hearing them once in class. Also, most of the homework we did was on material never covered.
quite literally the best class and teacher ever. #COTRANGFANDOMFORLIFE
I took 4 semesters of this class and enjoyed every single one. Her classes incorporate a lot of activities about the culture while still teaching the language and receiving tons of feedback. She is one sweetest teachers to ever work at uga, and despite not being Vietnamese, I felt welcomed and part of a community every day of class. TAKE VIET @ UGA
Cô Trang is an excellent professor who cares about her students and seeing them grow in Vietnamese. I am in one of the later classes now and can say that she has really helped my Vietnamese as a non-Vietnamese person. I really appreciate how much Vietnamese is used in class in the later classes. She always prepares you for the graded material.
