Unquestionably one of the worst professors ever! He will not take questions in class. He gets mad if you ask anything. He has an agenda to get through the material, regardless if you learn. Difficult to understand. One semester he shorted the semester 25%
Has a hard time understanding student's questions. Inconsistant in his policies. He asks if you understand, but doesn't look up for responces. He gives information, doesn't care if you get it or not. He thinks he's a great teacher, but he's not.
DO NOT take him for business finance. Unless you speak Japanese. He has a very strong asian accent and I could not understand any word that came out of his mouth. Also, his handwriting is unlegible. Both of these lead to a student being very confused.
This is the worst class I have ever taken! He is hard to understand, you can't read his writing and he does not understand when you ask him a question. Had to give a 17 point curve just to get a 75 average in the class. When I enrolled the class was full..before the 3rd class there were 12 left.
I would not take him unless you want to fail.
worst of the worst,DO NOT take any of his classes! He didn't even give final review for the final, and class evarage is blow 60, curve only five points, strong accent. just Don't!
I'd skip out on this prof too. Don't get me wrong, he is very knowledgeable but can't communicate material to students, doesnt like students to ask questions, cant read his scribble, and umm.., oh yeah DO NOT forget your financial calculator-occassional outbursts of anger towards students.
Jung is a good teacher. He doesn't put up with lazy people or their crap. If you study and use your brain you can easily pass his class.
I took him in the summer. He is tough but he was fair. Curved the first couple tests quite a bit. I ended up with a B. He might be alot easier to take in the summer.
sucks
Jung is a very good professor. If you study and go to all his classes you will do well. I made an A in his summer class...really enjoyed it
Dr. Jung is very knowlegable. The tests are pretty tough but that just makes you learn to study harder. Hes really not that bad and I enjoyed taking the class.

He is a great teacher. He will help you understand anything you have trouble with if you see him after class. The class is hard, very hard, but I learned a lot. He can be hard to understand sometimes and goes fast. Take him in the summer if you can. Oh, and he will make you redo homework until it is right. but he is cool about it.
if you want to learn intl finance this is the guy to take. ive learned so much in the class

The guy is a genius and knows how to get the info to our level. Best class I've taken yet. Super cool and great sense of humor. MJ rocks!
nice guy, the class is hard after all.. but he will help you. You need to be a good student to get a good grade, i got a B
He is a very good professor and is concerned about how his students do in class. You have to put the effort in but he is more than willing to help. He is also quite ammusing with a good sense of humor. The class is not boring. I recommend.
A great teacher. He will help you when you need it but you do have to listen to his lectures on how to be a better student. He is very smart and puts the information in a way anyone can understand. Still be prepared to study.
I took it in the summer, not a bad way to go if you can buckle down for a month. Not too hard, right out of the book, you start off hating the guy, and come around to liking him. He has no tolerance for lazy students, or ones that do not keep pace with the rest of the class. Answer questions(calculations) in class and he will like you more.
good professor
Fund. of Bus. Finance. - Material is very hard and he moves really fast. I don't like teachers that can't speak fluient english. I'm an "A" student but failed the first test. Don't take this class.
Awesome Professor. He expects his students to learn and succeed. If you really paid attention, you would understand him. He is one of the most knowledgeable professor at UCO
Nice guy - helpful in office
I dont like finance but its required. He is clear and helpful.Best teacher. He is really dedicated to be a teacher.Concern about his students.make sure we understand.I had a great time in his class. He cares about his students.
On the first day of class, he will tell you that the kind of students he “loves” hand the kind of students he “hates”. So you will do everything you can to be the kind of student he “love” but Mr Jung still ends up hating you too. He definitely does not want students to ask any questions. This guy is not a genius although he thinks he is one. Here
He is trying to hide how bad of a finance teacher he is by giving students OPEN BOOK TESTS and a 30 POINT CURVE on each TEST. Did not cover the material (5 chapters shorter. His multiple choice questions are too confusing and equally weighted with the problems (with all due respect, It does not make sense). He will try to look good until after stu
Horrible! Teaches lightening fast, can'y understand what he says due to heavy accent, can'y read his miniscule and messy writing. Takes pride in bragging about how difficult his tests are. Moving too fast to answer questions. Gets angr at students who don't get the material instantly. High self opinion. Should not be teaching.
wow- probably a smart guy, but a terrible professor. Test questions are confusing & don't seem to come from book. Hard to understand speech & read writing. HATES when students ask questions, usually didn't answer & ignored or humiliated them. Tests took longer than class permitted. MUST thoroughly read book to learn anything in this class.
BEWARE, class is hard, yet not too hard to pass(make at least a D), since he gives u at least a 20-point curve. Not hard to understand if u LISTEN as to what he actually tries to tell u. Of course, u gotta read the book, this is not a safety class, for god's sake. U have to learn and make urself succeed in his class. Recommend for hard workers.
Horrible professor. Comes in first day like a drill sargient and yells at you to scare you into coming to class. He talks to fast with his foriegn accent, just so he can skip important things like prepositions and nouns, things that make what he is saying understandable. Open book tests are useless, there's no way to comprehend what he is saying on
If this is your 1st finance class, DO NOT take it w/ this guy! He screams incomprehensible nothingness at you most of the time and his writing is so small it's hard to read from the front row. Save yourself the frustration and take someone else.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! strong accent, difficult to understand.
Very difficult to understand due to heavy accent. Anybody who asks a question will be subject to humiliation and ridicule. Avoid this professor. Class is not terribly hard if you study the book, but you're going to have to learn it all from the book, as he'll be no help to you.
Aside from all cultural differences Mr. Jung is difficult to understand and teaches in a very sporadic manner. He complicates the material and insist on exploring issues that are either irrelevant or unnecassary. Avoidance is suggested.
If you take this class during the summer be ready to cram information really fast. Like everyone else as said he gives great curves because his test are extremely hard. The first test no one in the class finished which was a first for me. He really wants to help people but you have to show that you are trying. His accent isn't that bad.
This is a hard class with an imposible instructor. read the chapters and buy the study guide and you will pass. The first test is a killer, i did not finish, but with his crazy curving I made above average. Take this class in the summer far less work.
This prof. should not be teaching. Do not take any of his classes. You will not learn from him. You will only learn from your book. Tests are hard.
This is the worst teacher at UCO avoid like the plague. Cannot understand what he says. Spends too much time on things that don?t matter and none on things that do. His test are ridiculously worded and a class average of 50 and he is proud of that. His grading scale is stupid. Don?t ask questions. He also says ok about 1000 times a class period.
Professor Minje Jung is the first professor that really motivated me to study Finance. The way he taught in class is really interesting and easy to understand. He's the best professor I've ever had. His tests are all open book, straight forward and clear. If you study, there should not be any problem in getting good result in his class.
He is GREAT! He acts mean at the begining to get the lazy peole to drop his class but he gives you chances to make up your grade towards the end. He is very funny and really cares, if you do.
I was scared to take this class after reading comments, but I figured he had to be a good teacher to teach finance for only 3 weeks in the summer. Not easy class. His real world examples are what I liked best! Very knowledgable! To many dumb, ****, red necks in OK.
Hard class. Dont ask Qs caz he doesnt like it!He makes you to say sorry if you he gets upset from asnwering ur Qs!!He needs to learn how to communicate with students!!
Professor is a great help if he sees you are genuinely trying to understand the material. Tests are't too difficult if you study. He lets you make a formula sheet for each test, so you can study the concepts instead of memorizing formulas. Kind of hard to understand, and doesn't like questions from students. Dedicate the time and you will do fine.
If u are not a major in Finance&look for "A"don't take his class.(it would be hard)He is very smart and genius, expect to study hard student.Btw, who is major in finance, better to take his class, cause you'll learn alot from him. He is always nice to nice student and sincerely teach to student.if youn't a good student act mean¬ study dont take it!
A POMPOUS individual. Make's it difficult to maintain attention beyond his eccentric character... that being said, he is very intelligent. Do not expect to breeze through this course, then again when was Finance to the point? Get to use a formula sheet... whatever. I found his exams hard to predict and over-complicated in preperation. K.I.S.S.
worse of the worse, unhelpful ,attutude problem, neverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr take this class, HIGLY UNRECOMMENDED TEACHER. take it ., yu fail
Horrible teaching style. Never made grades or status anything available to students and if you went to his office hours, acted as if it was putting him out. Never provided students with what their grade was throughout the course. Came across ver condescending whenever questions were asked during lectures. Do not take this instructor.
Unfortunately this wasnt my first time to take fundamentals of finance. I found his teaching style very helpful and efficent. I was able to understand and learn the material the way he presented it, unlike in the previous course. He was a great teacher and I would defintely suggest you enroll in his course.
Awesome teacher, and very smart. He makes sure you understand the material and wants you to suceed in his class. Great study guide, practical the test, so there is no curve balls. If you want a good grade and want to understand the material, take his class!
Great Prof., I really liked his teaching style, he keeps you interested and is kinda funny. i would recommend this prof if you really want to understand the material.
Professor Jung is really good. His style of teaching is very effective. What I really like the most about this professor is he narrows down important topics and stick with it. He provides really good lectures and reviews, and he makes it interesting and entertaining. He makes sure you completely understand the subject matter. You will learn!!!
HE ROCKS! He is the best Finance professor at UCO. He is very professional, also very logical and teaches in a VERY clear way. This class can get pretty tricky but he makes it seem really logical and almost basic. He explains problems so well.He is really the only good choice for finance classes at UCO. Highly RECOMMEND!!!!!
HE ROCKS! He is the best Finance professor at UCO. He is very professional and systematic. He is very logical and teaches in a VERY clear way. He explains problems so well and his tests are very reasonable. He is really the only good choice for finance classes at UCO. Highly RECOMMEND!!!
The homework load for this course is minimal and he allows a formula sheet for each test which is very helpful. He does all that he can to ensure his students are prepared for the exams. He is a very straightforward teacher. His test can be quite challenging, however, he will give you a huge curve on each exam. Very humanistic professor!

He's not a bad teacher, he just teaches at a fast pace. He seems to get mad when you ask a "simple" question, when of course, it's "simple" to him. I understood a good chunk of everything he taught, but on his tests, he expects all students to go beyond that. Which is good, but he has little patients for students that can't see it as clearly.
He loves finance and loves to teach students. He's funny and wants you to succeed. He will do everything he can to help you if you ask for it. Sometimes he's hard to understand. His study guides for the tests are really helpful. There isn't much homework. If you aren't interested in finance his class is tough but if you are then it should be easy!
He is kind and funny ! He likes to draw and take in some funny examples. The class is fun after all. He is so good, allow us to pass up exercise and gives extra credits to add on to the grade. I left the class with an A.
His test are super hard, but he gives a review handout before the first 2 tests. The first 2 tests are open book/open note; the last 2 are not. His lectures are hard to follow. Attendance is not required. There is 1 term paper that is really easy. Overall, I ended-up with a "B"
Dr. Jung has been my favorite professor during my undergraduate studies. While he can be difficult to understand at times, he has the best sense of humor of anyone I have ever known! His tests are extremely difficult...IF YOU DON'T PREPARE FOR THEM. I took Dr. Jung for Investments and International Finance also. He is truly one-of-a-kind!
THE best professor at uco. initially i was concerned after reading the comments, However THIS MAN KNOWS WHAT HE IS TEACHING !!!!! extremely helpful, gives great examples and i plan to take more classes with him. highly recommended
He is a good teacher. Uses the full class time. Tests for International Finance were open book, open notes. Was hard to understand at first, but I got used to his accent. Really cares about his students and doesn't want them to do bad.
Great professor. Took him during block 1 of the summer. Class moved very fast but he tried to make sure we all understood what was going on. He did tend to go off on non-related subjects though. Let us use our books on all the tests and our notes on 3 of the tests. Make sure you UNDERSTAND the material concepts for the multiple choice questions.
Super easy but you don't need the book. Just take good notes and really do the online homework. I hardly opened the book out of class and got an A
This Professor is very hard. You learn a lot but you don't pass. I don't know why most of the class fails even when he curvs the grade. I would never take him don't reccommend anyone. RUN!!!
I like Professor Jung. He is good and the work load is minimal. I left the class with an A.
I would be willing to bet that those who left negative reviews have a hard time reading their textbooks. Dr. Jung is BY FAR the best professor at UCO. He is extremely knowledgeable in all areas of finance and genuinely cares about his students. The tests are HARD, but if you enrolled in this program to learn something i would recommend Jung.
Investments. He can be hard to understand, but conveys message. Read the book, multiple choice on test will have concepts that must be understood. Attendance 15% of grade, go to all classes. Gives test review and answers. I made 56 and 65 on first two tests, ended up with a B. Easy project, and last two tests did well on. BIG CURVE helps alot!!
Professor Jung definitely knows the material he is teaching. He goes rather quickly so it is a little tough to keep up. His tests are extremely hard so study the entire week beforehand. I ended up with a B in the class but, it took lots of effort. He doesn't really answer questions very clearly when asked to him.
I've never had a teacher as bad as him! Rude, made fun of people, overall jerk! You better be good at financing problems to pass this class. Expects you to know everything from previous math/financing classes cause it's not his job to teach you that material! Find another teacher for this class and tell everyone to not take him!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is true he is smart. Unfortunately, he expects you to have retained everything you have learned in previous business classes and skips over steps while working examples. He is hard to understand (Asian professor) and has no HW so it's really a self taught class using the book. Test have no partial points. problems are either 0 or full credit.
Do not take for investment!! End of story
Dr. Jung has been my favorite professor throughout all of my academic endeavors. He has a great personality and to this day I re-tell his stories to friends and family. His classes are difficult, but he grades on a curve. If you have questions, ask and he will clarify. Just make sure you've done your part, e.g., reading and homework first.
I took him for Investment Finance. He grades hard, hard to understand, very rude, tells students grades. The test are hard. No homework to help. Miss one class you're Screwed. He doesn't care if you have a life outside of class. Definitely expects you to help yourself if you have any questions.
I love this teacher. I got A in Investment :3
has unclear accent, don't understand what is he saying., his exams are like confrontation students. Run away
A V O I D ! ! ! A V O I D ! ! ! A V O I D ! ! !
Taken advance Finance course in graduate study. Tough but acceptable. Though was open book and open note, but it won't help. Fact was, how well you understood the material. If you understood, you will get good score. If you won't, you better drop. Another things, you must not give away your calculus or algebra if you need to attend his class.
Spent hours every week on homework that ended up only being worth 150 points of the final grade. 4 very difficult tests with no notes worth 100 points each. Departmental final worth 200 points. When I asked for extra credit or tips on how to perform better on tests he said no extra credit and to just study harder. No direction or feedback.
Dr. Jung does not seem interested in helping his students or their success. Semester worth of assignments was worth 150 points, dropping the lowest 2 scores, tests were 100 points, and final was 200 points. The homework assignments were extremely lengthy and did not contribute much to preparing for the exams.
Dr. Jung has probably been the worst experience for me since attending the UCO. The Level of dificulty is extremely hard. He does not give outside assignments, Quizzes, Homework, etc. The Demonstrations in class do no justice when it comes to the exams because the terminology is changed. I Highly suggest that you do NOT take him.
Be prepared to teach yourself the material. His exams are impossible. He let us use the book for the exams which was no help considering he had to add a 30 point curve to the grades! I would say choose a different professor but he is the only one teaching the course sadly. He does not provide any homework, study guides, or helpful reviews for exams
If I could go back in time I would take these ratings seriously! This class is very difficult! He does a bad job of explaining things and when you ask for help he makes you feel dumb!
Awful. I read the reviews and always take them with a grain of salt. However, for this professor I would have to say he is far worse than I read. If you take him online be ready to have 5 exams count for pretty much your whole class. His homework is long and unrelenting. He gives no reviews for the exams and your pretty much on your own.
