She was an awesome lab teacher. She will stay after and talk when you have questions, she will explain a concept until everyone undersands it. Her quizes are very straight forward and she is very easy to talk to.Loved this class I wish she taught lecture.

Prof Schlessinger is great and super smart. She is always there to answer questions. She is very knowledgeable about the subjects she teaches! If you complained about 189 your world will come crashing down when you get to 223, 224, 251. Take her she is clear and doesn't trick her students.

Minnie is by far the best professor my college career thus far. The class was not easy by no means and I have a lot of prior biology. However, she is clearly passionate about what she is doing and it shows. She wants you to succeed. Everything you are tested on SHE WENT OVER! I promise. If you're not willing to put in the effort, you will not pass.

She is honestly one of the best professors I have ever had. She is very clear, explains things well, and makes things interesting for you to understand. However, she is all about application and her tests are SUPER hard. You need to study for them a lot. Other than that, I loved her. I would not take her again, but she was okay.

I love this professor! I took her for 189 as well, and intentionally took her for 223. She's great, provides very thorough PowerPoint presentations (that aren't required to print but nonetheless very helpful) and she knows her stuff. Her tests prep you for the critical thinking you need to use as you go on, so they're tough but you WILL learn a lot

Dr is very helpful and knowledgable. She explained everything and told you exactly what to know for exams. Although exams are difficult, When i reviewed my answered, they were simple mistakes on my part. i recommend her, as i will follow her to higher levels of biology!

Professor Schlesinger was a great teacher. granted her exams are not easy,but if you study like any other classes, you will do well. I took Minnie for a summer session. I found her to be enthusiastic about what she teaches, and entertaining. Depending on how you learn: recording lectures, reading the book and not just memorizing concepts, but being able to apply them, will pass you in this class. She is available to answer questions and help explain in applicable terms.

Prof. Schlessinger is a good teacher: she's enthusiastic and gives a lot of examples of what certain things from the book are seen in real life. The Friday before a big test she would hold study sessions in the Cheyenne Campus for anyone interested. It helped a lot! It wasn't an easy class but she's really willing to help if you're willing to try!

Great Teacher! She is very knowledgable and is more than willing to help you if you. I took her during the summer and thoroughly loved the class. I took her over the summer and she teaches well and helps if you need it.... My problem with her was that we printed out like 300 pages off of her power point and she told us things that we MUST know. So you would assume that it would be on the test?? Nope. Just read and the book and memorize it and you'll do good.

This professor is one of the best I have ever had because she is passionate and cares about the students. She understands that being easy does not equate to being good, so she has expectations that are challenging but achievable. She takes the time to explain things, as long as you are willing to study and do some work you will be fine.

This teacher is knowledgeable and thorough. She seems to do her own homework for the classes, and expects the students to simply do the normal work one has to do to succeed. study, She is always available for questions and is very fair. If you are even the slightest bit interested in biology, you should take this professor for this class. If you are in school to learn, you should take this professor. If you want to skate through, goof off, and learn nothing (as a few of the students in class seem to want to do!), then it is not recommended.

I have had this professor for 189 and 223 and if I could I would take her for 224. She goes over difficult concepts to make sure the class understands and if you still don't, you can stay after class and she will gladly go over it with you. This class takes dedications, but he professor is willing to help you anytime. Study the chapterstake notes on them. Also study the notes, I recommend you record the lectures because when you re-listen to them, they really stick in your head. Overall this class was a good first experience for me in my first college biology class.

I'm glad this isn't an easy A class. It weeds out the students that have no business getting into the medical field if they don't take the time to study and learn the material. The professor's tests are tough because she makes you think about the material and apply it, similar to the tests you'll be taking in the future to get your credentials.

A&P is a tough class. Schlesinger is a great professor. Print out the notes for class, focus on the objectives list and put in the long hours of studying. I recommend recording everything. . Email her with questions, shes quick to respond. Go to the optional test review days. Grades are based on 5 exams and 1 final, ea. worth 100 pts. Good Luck.

BIO 224 with Minnie Schlesinger is a challenging and interesting class, I highly recommend this professor. She wants you to succeed, but makes it challenging enough so it is not a 'gimme' and you will definitely learn something!

She has relatable stories, does review sessions with all her sections,opens her other lectures for all her students, very accessible outside class, power points online, objective lists and replies to emails reasonably. Study her slides and focus more on concepts. Tends to rush w/big chapters at the end and will tell you study it on your own.

2nd time taking 223 and her way of explaining things helped me learn the material. Didn't buy the book but still passed. Her PP are 40+ slides so bring your laptop to save on printing. She spends a lot of time on the chapters in the beginning and has to rush through the hard chapters. Tests aren't easy but aren't tricky either just study a lot.

Minnie was a great professor I wish I could take her again for Biol223. She only gave four homework assignments, all of which were drawing /coloring assignments. All of her exams were based off of her lectures, so as long as you take good notes and study you will do fine on her exams. All of her quizzes were online with no time limit.

She gets cranky if the class is not participating or engaging in lectures because she wants people focused and to succeed. Her printouts go with lectures and you can take notes on them. Great lectures, she uses visual as well as verbal am making sure I take her for 224 as well, takes the time to ensure you understand the material and does all that she can to make sure passing is possible if you attend class and study, goes fully by powerpoints so study and you will pass, put the effort in and the class is quite simple with Minnie.

First 2 exams were easy then all the rest dont match her notes She gives good notes but when it comes to her test, instead of testing you over notes stuff, she requires you to know how every little single thing works or the test will be tough. The outcome of the class depends on the amount of work you put in. With that said I studied my butt off in this class (4-6 hrs week). Exams are soley based off her powerpoints. She paints a picture in your mind with her lectures to really help you understand and digest the material. I highly recommend recording lectures, that helps!

I took Minnie for leture and lab and I love her! No matter what professor you have, you're going to have to study your butt off. She's very passionate about Bio and likes to draw everything out, and provides diagrams. She's more than willing to help and she's easy easy to talk to. I will be taking her for Bio 224. If you want an easy A, this is NOT the professor for you. However, if you want a professor that actually prepares your for Nursing school, take her 100% Her exams are not easy and you will have to study harder than any other BIOL 224 class, but ultimately it is worth it in the long run. Study hard, and follow her worksheets.

I took Minnie for Bio223 Lab last semester and this semester had her for Bio224 lecture and lab. Honestly she is a really good professor. The class is obviously already super difficult so no matter which professor you take you're going to have to study. I studied for this class around 20 hours a week. All her exams are off her power points!! STUDY!

I took Minnie 2 semesters in a row. She was an amazing teacher! Her tests are always over the objectives she gives you before hand. Streamlined lectures and clear exams. You work for the grade but there are no mental gymnastics or convoluted 12-step processes to arrive at answers. She took over for Dr. Jackson and the one exam I had from her I did very well on; better than I had previously. Makes me think if I'd had her all along I'd have made an A. It's definitely doable.

A&P is a very challenging class, but its doable if you study. I remember Minnie told us that A&P is basically the language of health care professionals. She uses a lot of diagrams and flow charts that really help and extra resources for lab, that helped a lot. If I was unclear, I just asked and she was always willing to re-explain it.

Minnie was a nice instructor. She mainly used PTTs for class and I only needed the textbook for (a few) references. Ignore the low rating for her because its not as bad as they say. Her exams are pretty much everything she goes over in lecture. I recommend recording her lectures. Just do your part for this class and you will be fine. Dont slack off

One of the best professors hands down! Exams are derived from her lecture/lecture notes, (RECORD THEM!). I never had to use the book, she covers everything! You will get an A as long as you put the time to study and understand the material. We had to transition online mid semester but she pulled through and was consistent with her teaching.

This is a great class by a great professor. While reading the reviews, I was confused by the few who said that she is 'too hard' or whatever? Not sure what classes they have been taking to compare it to, kindergarten? This is not a hard class, and at the same time, you will learn what you need to know from a very competent and caring professor!

I took the 16 week online course. I absolutely suck at science and math and was so worried about taking biology that I waited until my last semester before graduation. This professor made it super simple. If you read each chapter then complete the weekly assignment and quiz, you will pass. Only 5 labs and 5 chapter cumulative exams. JUST READ

Tough class overall. But she uses great examples and you draw to help reinforce what she taught. Took her 2/3x but will take my final attempt with someone else. As much as I love her personality and teaching style, it was depressing to be made to feel so unimportant. Emails would take a week plus for a reply if she replied at all (30% reply rate)

Ive taken BIOL223 three times before. Its a very tough class if you dont do your fair share of work - and I used to be a really bad student. 4 lecture exams and 1 cumulative exam, which were straightforward and some were even off the practice homework questions. 2 full time jobs and a part time. If I got it, anyone can!

Professor Schelsinger is an incredible instructor. Her slides, presentation, and instruction are well done and impressed me. She invests in what she does and she responds to students. Her explanations are good. No need for textbook. There is so much material. I've heard it's more manageable at NV State. Record lectures!

Professor Schlesinger was an INCREDIBLE professor. She made online learning an easy task. She had several online hours every single week for students to get all the extra help they needed. She was incredibly caring, answered every single question asked, and explained it as many times as I needed until I completely understood.

I took professor Schlesinger for Bio 223/224 & for 224 Lab. She has been one of the best professors at CSN. She shares printable docs of the lecture for you to add notes to and follow along as she is doing her lectures. She also records them just in case you missed something she said. She also offers resources for lab even if you don't have her.

In this class, she bases her exams primarily off of her lectures, lecture videos, and lecture notes. Read the textbook! However, if the book contradicts her lecture, go by her lecture. Attendance isn't mandatory but she gives more detail and a little extra information. In my opinion, she is clear about her grading and what she wants from students.

I recommend taking alone. If you are looking for a prof. that only lectures on minimal material to pass the class, then please reconsider a diff field. You wouldn't be a good provider. Prof. Minnie prepares you for your future careers and you leave feeling like a Dr. She gives you many details which help! Very enthusiastic. You will pass the TEAS.

I definitely recommend taking Prof. Minnie. She is really nice and knows exactly what she is teaching! For every chapter, there were hw practice questions that were due before each exam but it's super easy. Exams were 50 multiple choice questions. Lecture notes were a bit heavy but if you read and STUDY, you will do just fine. STUDY STUDY STUDY!

If you hate McGraw-Hill SmartBook and SmartQuiz assignments, this class is not for you. There are SBs and quizzes for every chapter and exams every two chapters. Aside from that, I learned a lot in the summer session with Professor Schlesinger! She is a great professor and the labs were easy to complete as well. Take her!

This Class is tough no matter who you take. However she has videos that will help a lot to better understand the material. She is there to help you and wants everyone to be prepared for the future. lectures are a Must, have to attend to better understand the information.

I took BIOL 121 as an online class, where she requires every student to pay for the Cengage MindTap website (around $130) where the textbook would already be included (mandatory). All assignments, including all 4 exams, would be required to be completed on this website. There are 3-5 assignments due every Sunday by midnight, which are easy to do.

took 223 w/other prof, couldnt pass & studied lots more. thought i wouldnt again, but she makes it easy! lectures are easy to understand/keep up with. posts recordings of lecures online & does expect you to watch them. trust they help a lot! didnt do it once and got a bad grade. done it since & high B! assigns hw that helps and based on exam Q's

This class was intimidating at first, but it's really not that hard. Professor Minnie was very nice and understanding. Number 1 advice is to take notes and REWATCH lecture videos the night before the test.

This professor teaches and explains anatomy perfectly. She truly wants you to understand difficult concepts and is willing to help you in whatever way needed. Her lectures are very detailed, but explained very well. Her tests are based off of her chapter objectives. I would definitely take her again, and I would recommend her to anyone.

Minnie is caring and wants her students to do their best. She provided lecture videos on youtube/canvas which I find very helpful to rewatch before taking exams. You will not do well if you don't put time and effort in this class. Tbh, one of the toughest class I've ever taken but it goes to show if you put in the effort, then you will succeed.

Minnie is amazing and explaining things in detail. Her power points are helpful and her lecture videos are extremely helpful because she will use the in class time to go over the same material but deepen the understanding of it all. Responds to emails in a timely manner and is very kind and funny. Exams are 50 Qs. no quizzes.

I liked Minnie a lot and I'm going to retake her for 224. She is very lecture heavy but you need that to keep up with all the information. Her test were a bit tricky and times if you don't go over all the material but she is very kind and keeps and energetic mood in the class.

Professor Minnie was incredible. Very knowledgeable and takes the time to ensure her students understand. The lectures can be long but provide a better overall picture of the body systems. Definitely taking her for 224

Pretty awesome Professor . Definitely cares about her students success but she can only do so much. Lecture videos are posted ahead of time so you can watch them and ask questions when you get to class if you don't understand. If you take time to study you will do well. Not recommended to take this class with any other difficult classes.

very caring and intelligent. this class will always be hard but put in the work you will be ok. only con was that you have to rely on watching posted lectures because she likes to go in depth on things in class and sometimes won't have time to explain everything. 50qs on exams and 100qs on final. overall a funny and sweet person.

This was my second time taking BIOL 223 because don't get me wrong, A&P is HARD. No matter what professor you get, it all goes down to knowing how to study and using your time wisely. However, Minnie was amazing, making this complicated material as simple and understanding as she could make it. She cares about every student and wants us to pass.

Prof Minnie is a wonderful teacher! She's clear in her expectations and will make sure you understand the concepts. She spends countless hours making lecture videos to explain concepts from A-Z. This class is LECTURE heavy, and the amount of details will be overwhelming. Take this class very seriously!

I love her class , it's a tough one since it is biology but she pre records lectures and will summarize them during lecture , she explains hard concepts to us well and she breaks them down with images ,drawings and demonstrations! Do her study guides and watch her lecture videos!

She is very challenging. It is so much information to process within 16 weeks. With that being said, Prof Minnie is so passionate. Everytime I attended her lectures, it was filled with passion and care for us to understand the material. However, her exams were very difficult. Bottom line; if you are not two weeks ahead, you are two weeks behind

Minnie is a great professor with a passion for anatomy and physiology. The class itself is tough but it helps to have a professor that cares. Attendance is mandatory for points but I rarely went to class and still ended with a B. You get graded on practice questions and exams! Take her:) the subject is hard regardless…

Minnie TRULY cares about her students! She makes 223 and 224 easier with helpful notes for labs and YouTube lecture uploads. She is very energetic and puts harder topics into simple terms and is always kind and patient. Everyone says not to take her for 224, but I highly recommend it! She is the BEST professor I have had in my college experience.

This subject is difficult regardless, but if you put the effort in then you WILL succeed. Minnie really cares about her students and does what she can to help us gain a better understanding of the concepts. Keep up with watching the lectures and you will be just fine! It is not as intimidating as it seems, just a pure memorization.

I've taken Minnie for BIO 223 and 224 and honestly wouldn't change my professor for anything! Anatomy and physiology is a really heavy course in general, but Minnie does a really good job of simplifying, illustrating, and taking extra time to explain the really complicated topics.

Took Minnie 223&224, A- in both. MUST watch the videos, take extensive notes, draw the diagrams! Watch each video before your class! thoroughly prepares you to retain & recall this info yrs later. took my TEAS over 1yr later, recalled everything she taught me. genuinely cares, kind & dedicated to her future health care students. Amazing professor and person. The class is a hard class, but she makes it easy to understand. Watch all lecture videos multiple times until you get it and you'll be fine. The best part is that she gives you material to pass lab too.🥹 She truly cares about whether her students understand and pass. She is hands down best professor I've ever had.

Had her for 223/224 and really like her teaching style. Got As in both courses. She emphasizes comprehension/critical thinking over memorization. Attend lectures and watch her lecture videos until you are comfortable with the material and you'll do good in her course. HW is a bit lengthy for only a few points but it helped me study for exams.
