very nice teacher! she knows how to have fun too~ relatively generous marker and definately one of the best teachers around!

I belive (2003) was her first year teaching at Langara, and I have to say I was impressed with her class. She is clear, easy to follow, and makes the class interesting.

she is a excellent teacher!!!she explains very clear,but you have lots of work to do after class!!Tests are pretty easy if you follow her steps!

Fun and goofy. The pace is quick but it's like that for any language. Not exactly clear all the time. Still experimenting with different teaching styles. Not great but good for a rookie but i imagine she will get better with some more experience.

Very funny teacher!

She is very nice. This term she is the only teacher that i'm not worried about. I like her. The only thing is that she assigns too much homework every day. Rather than that she is doing just fine. I recommand her.

was very helpful in her office hours. i dont think she really understands that she CANT be assigning millions of pages of homework, some people are taking 5 classes and it just got too hard for me, very nice though, i would reccommend her to someone taking 3 classes or less.

She gives out lots of homework just to make us practice more since it's a modern language that we have to practice ourselves. Although she sometimes teaches fast, you can to spend time memorizing terms yourself to be able to catch up. But overall she's above "ok".

Shes so funny! and she hands out lots of homework for our benefit!! so no complaints!!

Funny, consistent and very helpful and concerned with her student's concerns. Always get 90+% on her quizzes and exams. Haven't even cracked the text at home yet.

Never studied French before? So take her class! Both her French and English are very clear and easy to listen to. Clear explanation, easy to follow. Dictation is easy if you study. Amount of homework is not too much, but she never accepts late homework. Preview and review well at home. She does class very quickly: done 100 pages in 5 weeks.

She is incredibe! A great teacher, willing to help, goes above and beyond the call of duty in helping students. Makes classes fun by adding humour and unusual exercises. She plays the guitar and sings like an angel. All students are included and not judged. Lots of work, but that's language, and anyway, the load is set by the school, not her.

Organized, able to get whole class involved, overall good teacher. Made the class very enjoyable. STudents should previe&review which is the case with most classes but esp with languages. If u do that, her class is an easy B+, A

Superb professor! She has enthusiasm and tries really hard to include everyone in the class. Although she does teach in a way where there is a seating plan, attendence, homework checks, and mini quizes. But if you are willing to adjust to that level she is great. Very helpful and will go above and beyond to answer questions. Pay attention in class!

Very kind teacher. There are lots of assignments and quizzes, but she didn't design the course! She is enthusiastic and very helpful. Everyone is actively involved, and she doesn't let the class get boring. Highly recommended.

A really, really nice person. She's a lot of fun and creates a really nice atmosphere in the classroom. Not a bad singer either!

I had a great time in this class. I learnt more than I expected. Homework was easy. I looked forward to every class. I espescially enjoyed her singing and learning french through song.

AWESOME teacher. The best I've had! Made learning French an absolute pleasure. Prepare for a fast-paced course, with lots of quizzes to keep you up on the work. Friendly & a joy to learn from. Really gives a well-rounded basis of French so you can actually remember and learn the language! Puts her heart & soul into teaching. Highly recommended!! A+

she is one of the best profs ever! made french VERY interesting. She's EXTREMELY helpful and very friendly. She also let us learn French by singing french songs. hahaa.. I NEVER skipped a class cos I learnt a lot every class and they were all very enjoyable! Recommended.

She class is pretty easy and she does a good job. She's nice but I find her to be boring. Her tests are extremely easy for this class because she gives you a practice exam to take home and the actual exam is almost identical to it. She's nice but she's not my favorite.

She is really cute, and her teaching is easy to understand. exams are also easy.　You should take her class for sure!!

Very very helpful teacher for French. Always willing to clarify anything that you do not understand, and tries to make herself available for extra help outside of class as much as she can.

super nice, really helpful, not intimidating w/ oral tests, gives you lots of chances to get a good grade if u can put in the effort like test prep handouts w/ answer keys, etc. i'd defs take a class w/ her again. it's easy to keep up with the little homework assignments each nite- do them so you'll be ready when she calls on ppl next class.

i enjoyed her class so much. its one of those classes that you cannot wait to get to! shes funny cute and adorable and very helpful. i missed 1 class the whole semester i felt lost. show up to her class and you'll get a B+ without studying. but don't worry her class is fun, she calls on people for answers but she makes everyone comfortable.

Clear on what is required, sweet person, perfect accent (she lived in France for five years), fair marker, very helpful and engaging. Nothing bad to say! Just do the (simple) homework assignments and this course is an easy GPA boost. Definitely reccomended! A+

Such a cutie! You definitely don't expect a little asian lady to be teaching you, but it was a great class. Beware French 12 students: you're expected to speak as much french as possible in this class; probably much different to what you were used to in high-school! Homework is common. Easy course.

she is a nice teacher and a little bit strictful.

Mirabelle is a good teacher, but I have been disappointed with how harsh she is with absences. She does not accept any homework after you have missed class and is not at all gracious even if you are legitimately sick while away. I appreciate teachers who acknowledge that college students are people, that we have lives and need a break sometimes.

I love her and her class! Was the best course I took. Too bad she doesn't teach any advance courses :( Guess I'll just take a bunch of conversational courses with her haha.

She is an awesome French prof. She helps you when and where she can, and if you just do your homework and pay attention in class, you'll do great. Her exams/oral exams are easy IF you study. If you miss a class, read up and do some extra textbook work and you can catch up on your own.

If you can't learn French from this lovely lady, YOU might be the problem.

Very picky teacher, but she is really nice and is an expert in her fields. If you put in the time studying the material she goes through in class, you are guarantee at least a B. Also attendance is mandatory in this class, so make sure you attend to all your classes.

Nice lady. Has a native grasp of the language despite it not being her first language. Lived in Paris for 5 years, so accent is spot-on. Relatively clear, and uses a lot of group-conversation time so you're never bored. One downside: she's helpful and friendly, but not very good at connecting with students. Kind of distant.

She's sooooooooo nice. Easygoing and very kind. My car has been twoed away so I didn't take 2 quizs and she droped those 2 quizs for me.

Great teacher! Just do the assigned homework everyday and answer the worksheet she gives before the test and you'll definitely get at least a "B". She always asks you to work with a partner, so u get to practice speaking French.

She is a really nice teacher. She is very patient and helpful for the students. Taking in her course, you will have quizzes and a little bit assignment for each lesson,but it is easier to finish and get full mark! The 3 midterms are very easy if you prepare before the tests!

She is such a gd teacher!!!Be prepared you would have homework every class and a quiz every week. She is so nice and kind.So bad that she only teaches 1115 but not 1215...if she does, I will take her class for sure!!!!

Overall a great teacher. At first was turned off by having 1hr class 4 days a week, but it was easier to grasp smaller bits at a time. Good amount of memorization involved, but nothing unreasonable. Tests/quizzes were fair, always based off of homework and lectures. Was generally positive, and willing to answer questions. Would recommend.

Mirabelle is very organized and very clear on what her expectations are. Her tests are really easy if you study her material! Also, her bright personality makes her class more interesting! It took a bit effort to get used to the pronunciation part but other than that it was indeed a very easy course. I would definitely recommend her class.

She is the best French teacher I have ever had. She is the first person to actually make me understand what I was saying and hearing in French. She makes everything clear. She tells you what to review and she explains well. She gives assignments everyday, but it's for your own good. It helps you a lot and it's not too hard. She's funny and nice too

Mirabelle was an excellent prof. You can tell she knows French fluently, which makes a big difference: You can trust that what she tells you about the language really is how it's spoken. She forms a good rapport with the students, and teaches the class in a way that makes it easy to do well, highlighting key points etc. Highly recommended.

She's very fluent in French, and side note, very pleasant to listen to while she's speaking. Even when she's demonstrating how fast and complex the language can get, it's still clear. She spends a lot of time on your questions and gives you good, gentle feedback on your pronunciation. I would love to take another class with her!

mirabelle is a great teacher. she is very helpful if you ask for help. Learning a new language requires consistent effort. It's more about what you do than what you teacher does. Mirabelle helps as much as she can, the rest is up to you.

Taken both French 1115 and French 1117 with her and was very happy with both. She is organized and posts everything on D2L so you'll never be confused on what she is wanting. Also, really good at teaching all angles: pronunciation, listening comprehension and written.

She is an amazing teacher. She gives out a lot of homeworks, but it's mainly for practices. Tests are based on those, so A's are easy to get. She posts a lot of study materials online; you can't blame her for not trying your best to study. She is helpful in class. Her lectures are fun and energetic. In conclusion, she makes French easy to learn.

Mirabelle is passionate and works hard to pace students and make sure they succeed in the course. Her exams are very fair and you will be prepared for them if you are confident in the review material. Use her office hours + participate in class! She is very approachable and sincere. Also, ALWAYS do the homework -- there is lots of it for a reason.

I would definitely recommend taking Mirabelle as your instructor for French. Her teaching style is very straightforward and there are no "tricks." The marks you get will also be fair, and depend on how much effort you put into learning the material she provides. Overall, Mirabelle is very caring about her students and is an excellent teacher.

Mirabelle is great at what she does. It's clear that she's experienced in teaching French, and enjoys it as well. Show up to every class, and do all her assignments, and an A is very, very doable (15% of the class regularly got 90+%). You'll never feel shy asking her to repeat herself, seeing her outside of class, or getting any help from her.

She is the best French prof at Langara. She teaches in a way that is clear. She understands that we aren't fluent in French (yet) and she adjusts to the class' needs when we don't understand something. She wants us to understand and be able to use French properly.

I recommend taking a course with her just to experience the vast knowledge she carries and how she applies it. I've learned so much from her! Not to mention, her caring and understanding demeanor. Great prof! Very accessible by email. Loved the course. I got detailed feedback. I took the French 1205, which is conversational french. It was fun, but I had a lot of work to do. It got tiring at the end because there was too much to cover. I definitely recommend her if you are willing to learn and can spare time to do homework daily. Merci!
