If your wondering why she's showing Tallahassee and not Houston Lone star, don't fear this is the correct Professor! This is by far the best class I have taken at lone star, she really and truly does care about her students, she's super passionate about teaching, So PARTICIPATE or beware! No homework and only 2 exams, a couple of quiz's, open book!
She is a very well spoken passionate professor and never really gives a biased opinion or advise. If you don't pay attention or participate you will not pass the class. I would definitely recommend her!
Great overall
class is interesting as its things that affect us, pay attention in lectures and you should be fine. In class assignments are easy and help your grade besides that just a midterm, research paper, and a written final.
she's young, smart and intelligent. She's very well spoken and teaches the bases and all that you need to learn from this course .There's never a dull moment in her class cause she allows student contribute and give their own opinions. She isn't biased and never go against your beliefs. She gives review over test and finals. I highly recommend her.
Amazing Professor overall. She really does care about her students even to a personal level and can be very understanding. The class is very simple as long as you show up to every class and take notes. She does not provide online powerpoint, so notes are what they are in class. Otherwise it is an easy A with not further issues.
This is by far the best and easiest class I have taken at Lone star, she really and truly does care about her students, she's super passionate about teaching, you will leave this class everyday wanting to participate and change the world. Also, PARTICIPATE in class! No homework and only 2 exams, a couple of quiz's, and they are open book!
Professor Miranda Was very generous She gives open class discussions and always her students to speak and give their opinions on a topic . She very easy going Show up to class do the assignments and you will pass ! No doubt.
She is a good teacher and cares about the students. She will help you in any way she can and gives good lectures overall
Last minute pick for me, as I waited to pick my classes. Having her as a professor has been great! She is very informative about what she teaches and super passionate about it. She makes her assignments clear and straight to the point. Attendance grades are random and she always informs when we will have an assignment to make sure you are present.
great speaker and great class discussion
The class is very simple as long as you show up to every class and take notes. She does not provide online power-point and the notes are provided in class. She really and truly does care about her students and she's super passionate about teaching. I really liked her and I enjoyed taking her class.
Great Professor! midterm need to study notes and review, gives great lectures , gives great examples to understand material. At times get frustrated student participation, Just cares. Highly Recommend this professor!!
Professor Miranda was very involved with open class discussions with her students . This class isnt hard at all Just attend class , take good notes , and participate, You will eagerly pass no doubt !
THE COOLEST TEACHER YOU CAN EVER TAKE. And nope, is not me trying to get on her good side. She gets what she derserves; easily the best teacher I ever had the pleasure to meet. Will never shut you down no matter hoe stupid your comment might be and moreover will give you a pieces of her mind to extend your knowledge, I admire her.
I was in a small class so we had to engage in conversation and give our thoughts. Being in a smaller class helped me understand the material which helped me with the assignments and the few quizzes. If you don't engage and participate, as well as show up to class, you won't understand whats going on. She'll help you with assignments if you need it.
Id really enjoyed taking Professor Ashworth class! Shes still young so its easy for her to connect w/ students. The class is mostly made up of lectures but theyre very captivating if youre concerned about your government. Class participation is VERY important to her so be prepared to voice your opinion a lot in her class. She enjoys hearing it
She says that attendance is not mandatory but it would be in your best interest to show up anyway so you do not risk missing an assignment, quiz, or important notes. She is a good teacher but she won't give you the grade you want unless you truly earn it so be ready to do some honest work. Participating in class helps too
She's awesome, if you care about politics I highly recommend her. Lectures are long and kinda boring but the class discussions are what matter the most, remember the topics she brings up and the final is a given. Midterm has a review but still need to study. Quizes are open-book. She's funny and really approachable 10/10 would recommend.
She's a very kind professor that will put an effort to help you. But you have to put in the effort to actually try in the class. She's very funny and will make federal government a lot more entertaining especially when you participate. She doesn't require you to but a book because most of the information will be given to you through PowerPoint.
the class is so much easier if you participate. She is kinda funny. it was a good learning experience. I would take her class all over again.
Mrs. Ashworth is an amazing professor, she is one of the few that actually seems like she is passionate about teaching and having her students become more educated in the real world. Even if you don't like Government she still finds a way to include real life examples with every lecture. The class is an easy A if you show up and take notes.
She is good at discussions and giving out tests and quizzes which directly correlate to notes taken, but sometimes if you dont ask questions you could be lost on what exactly needs to be studied, however for the final she gave a guide, so thats good, but even in the guide its not guaranteed all will be used, but still have to study all of it.
Ashworth is in my opinion a "laidback" professor but don't not get comfortable. Always try and participate in class discussions, it will make class go by easier. She is never boring .
I hate govt. But she made me love this class.
Shes a great professor, as long as you come to class and do your work youll pass no problem.
Loved Professor. Ashworth. I would 100% take her class again. Everyone should take her class, teaches you about real life not just what's in the book. She gets the whole class involved, participation is key. One of the best professors I've ever had.
She put a new spin on this topic & connects it to real life & current things that are happening right now, instead of feeding you information like a history class, she makes it practical & relevant. The more people talk and participate in discussions the better the class will be. Able to talk about topics rationally from both sides. Fun class.
Shes a great professor. Come to class, pay attention, do your homework, and youll pass
This professor has a very strong grasp of the subject matter. She is articulate and able to express political views from both sides. Be prepared to come to class and join in the discussions and be open to hearing opposing points of view. I have learned so much more about our federal government because of this class. Amazing professor.
I really enjoyed taking ms ashworths class. You can tell shes very passionate about what shes teaching and I learned a lot by having her as my professor.
She actually cares about her students. She isn't hard at all as long as you participate in the discussions. The more involved in her discussions, the easier the class will be. She not asking for you to agree with her, but to simply have a viewpoint & reasons behind it. Only one 4 page research paper, graded on how well your viewpoint is explained.
This professor needs the class to participate. She also cares for her students and wants them to pass! Attendance is mandatory the discussion we have in class are the question for the final. She is a really great professor
Interesting class, professor that wants you to learn and participate in the class. Rather than feeding feeding us textbook garbage and verbatim tests she wants us to start a discussion, share what we think, why we think what we do, and learn from that and* she participates as part of the student discussion. She makes class interesting and relevant
Professor Ashworth is incredibly passionate about government and she knows what shes teaching and will be able to open up your mind about things and encourage you to think outside the box. Shes a tough grader but shell work with you if youre willing to put in some work as well.
Great professor ! i would for sure take her again.
She is open minded, we have lots of discussions in class. Assignments, attendance etc. Above all great class. Thanks prof.
Best Professor at Lone Star! Ms. Ashworth is very good at teaching, she makes sure everyone understands. Makes showing up to class fun. No multiple choice test, all of them are easy essay test. Everyone gets an A!
Summer course. Ms. Ashworth is a great professor who's very passionate about the subject, strives to educate her students on our current system and encourages our participation in the government. Tests and assignments are super straight-foward and easy to do well on if you pay attention. There's also a presentation + research essay due at the end.
I took summer course with professor Ashworth. She is very nice professor who makes sure that each and every student understands her lecture which is on the current system of the government. Test and assignments are simple and easy to do if you pay attention during lectures. Instead of multiple choice questions these is response questions.
Great professor! She puts a lot of effort in what she does and makes you want to pay attention. If you participate and listen for what she asks for on the essay tests you'll do great. Its all based on perspective, so it actually matters how you feel about things. Seriously an outstanding teacher!
She's a great professor! very passionate about what she teachers and really gets you to think! I would definitely take the class again. Be sure to participate and be engaged.
Professor Ashworths teaching style makes the course more interesting and creates a safe environment where you feel safe to talk about the worlds current conflicts. This makes it easier to understand the content.
Would recommend.
Class is engaging, and conversations are thought provoking eye openers to the current issues in our society. Students are not forced to participate, but participation often makes class more enjoyable.
She is very passionate about what she teach and lectures are very interesting you are going to learn things you need to know and use in real life. You must participate in this class.
Has 3 test and a research paper. The test are essays but she gives you the essay questions before the test. The research paper is a big thing! She wants you to participate in discussion and have a voice to make a change! Very inspirational
Great teacher if you really want to know what is currently going on in our government and politics. I had no interest in this before her class now I am much more educated in government and how we can fix it as a people.
She is a really chill professor. She is very passionate about what she teaches and is very interactive. You will learn a lot from her class that is actually relevant. I highly recommend her.
She creates fun ways for students to get involved through activities and group discussions making government fun.
Professor Ashworth does a great job in engaging her students into understanding the importance of GOVT. She doesn't follow the traditional route in teaching her students and it makes me extremely excited to go to class because she's able to make connections to how our government was formed to why it matters now. Tests are reasonable. NO POP QUIZZES
Very Passionate and Caring Professor, gives good feedback and will help you understand the topic(s)
Professor Ashworth has a great way of introducing and teaching new concepts to students. If you miss class you will miss valuable information which is crucial because tests are based entirely on class discussions.
Super passionate about the course, will work with you if you need any help, as well as funny.
Professor Ashworth , is absolutely the best!! Very Helpful. Her Lectures are very interesting, she makes everyone get involved.
I Love how she is so energetic and how she uses personal examples to help the lectures understand the topic.
Shows the bigger picture. Not only about government.
Professor Ashworth, cares that the information she teaches gets across to all her students and that they know enough about the information being presented that they are able to complete a well written paper with valid information about what is talked about in class.
Professor Ashworth is respectful of people's opinions and beliefs during her lectures and when she is addressing her students. The class is easy and the inquizitive homework, that is only due once a week, can be time consuming but really easy! She has a good sense of humor and the TX GOV is easy and similar to US government. I would take her again.
I really liked this class! The workload was not very heavy, but participation is necessary. This class was full of deep discussions that really opened my eyes to the ins and outs of government.
I really liked this class!
Participation is encouraged in class, conversations about topics between her and class matter. Weekly quizzes are given out, about 1-2 a week each due on Sunday at midnight. Midterm and Final are essays but are relatively short.
Took her online govt class for a full semester, there's a lot of work but its all very easy. 14 inquisitives which you can take pictures of and get a 100 easily, 14 video quizzes, semi difficult; weekly discussions (Due Sunday nights) 2 replies but completion grades; 4 tests, 2 tries, majority on quizlet. VERY EASY CLASS just lots of work.
I genuinely enjoyed taking her class. Midterm and final are both essays, so if you can't write well maybe don't take her class. There's 1 group project as well. Everything is very easy. She lectures, then the class discusses and shares opinions, then she lectures again and so on. She's funny, smart, and makes TX gov't interesting.
Professor Ashworth is great at making Government interesting. The class is based on in-class discussions rather than textbook work. She is very passionate about what she teaches and will even keep you up to date on current government topics to make sure you understand what's happening now as oppose to studying what happened years ago.
Prof. Ashworth is a really nice teacher. She teaches you to understand and be prepared for the real world and she does not access your understanding by bubbling in scantrons, you write based on your opinion and understanding. I would take her again.
Awesome professor!! She is funny and made the class very entertaining even the subject is not something we would like it too much. She explains the subject applying to our daily lives and showing how government decisions affect us. Easy class to pass, only 2 essays and a group presentation. I love her class! I would take a class with her again.
definitely would take her again and you most definitely wont regret it
Amazing lectures! If you enjoy class discussion this is your professor. The class is interesting and easy to pass if you pay attention and participate. Low work load comparing to other clases, just 4 major assignments.
A PROFESSOR THAT TEACHES MORE THAN JUST BASIC GOVERNMENT, SHE GOES OUT HER WAY TO HELP YOU UNDERSTAND THE CURRENT POLITICAL ENVIRONMENT AND TEACHES YOU TO WHAT WE REALLY SHOULD BE QUESTIONING. INDEED MY BEST SOCIAL STUDIES PROFESSOR SO FAR!
Great professor, usually tends to discuss subjects rather than lecture the whole class. Group project required (Biggest portion of grade) 2 tests , be prepared to write thoughts on both tests. Should be able to discuss any subject thoroughly. Besides that overall straight forward and helpful with anything from the class. Easy class with simple work
Fantastic teacher. Classwork consists of open book quizzes, a very easy midterm essay, and a final. Taking notes is essential to do well on the final. She's a great teacher who makes class very interesting. Easy A of a class. I highly recommend her. Also, attendance is not mandatory, so that's cool.
An amazing teacher, she goes out of her way to not only teach you government but about what's going on currently in America and frankly, why you should care. The textbook is mandatory, there will be InQuizitives you have to do. She does not accept late work.
One of my favorite teachers I've had at Lone Star. Makes lessons and lectures a lot more conversational rather than following a strict powerpoint. She is very light-hearted and easy-going. Very knowledgable and always describes both sides to any argument or controversial subject.
She is an amazing professor, you wont regret taking her class, Its obvious how much she loves teaching and her students. There are only two test, one being an exam and the final which are both written tests, and one presentation that it done with a partner.
She is an amazing and open-minded teacher. You will have only online quizzes, Midterm essay and, Final Essay. She is not strict with attendance but it is important to come to class to know what to write in essays. Also, she lectures and discusses with the class.
she provides amazing lectures including all students and creating open debates/discussions. I would recommend her 100%!
Excellent professor , would take her class again definitely!
There's only 3 main assignments which is easy if you show up and participate. Class is mainly discussion based with occasional lectures where you can tell she is passionate about what she's talking about. Very easy about attendance! Only complaint is that the homework quizzes don't line up with class work.
She is an amazing professor. She would relate to current issues and events to the content in her lectures so that it is easy for you to understand. There are 2 exams which are based on lectures. She uses Inquizitive which is a platform for quizzes. There is 1 group presentation. She doesn't use the textbook, she mainly uses PPT.
Great professor! I would recommend taking her because she makes learning about government more enjoyable. I'm not a big fan of government but she makes it seem easy and gives midterm, final and project while some few assignments some weeks. If you don't want a hard semester then definitely take her.
Entire grade only rests on about four things: online work due every Sunday (usually 1-2 at a time, about 30 minutes each), a midterm, a presentation, and a final. Midterm and final require examples talked about in class, so you really can't miss too many and still pass. She does provide rubrics, though, which is very helpful, as long as you follow.
gave good lectures and has a special place in her heart for those who sometimes doubt themselves.
The professor is nice. Her lecture is interesting, not just boring presentation. She doesn't give any pop quizzes in class, just InQuizitive, midterm, presentation and final. The midterm and final will be essay and for who doesn't good at writing essay like me, I won't recommend you to take her. For me, she is kinda hard grader on the essays.
When I say you need the textbook it's only to complete the weekly homework assignments and even when compared to other textbooks it isn't that bad. She is an amazing professor and the class is enjoyable. I would take her again without hesitation.
Shes an amazing professor and really inspires people to think about their future. I would have taken her for tx govt but she didnt have an opening. If you want to learn real world issues and how to talk and combat them, shes your person!
Highly recommend if youre not much of a note taker and rather listen to the lectures. This class opened my eyes on many things throughout the semester. Dont recommend if you are a note taker. We had two big assignments through the semester and one of them was the midterm.
She is a great professor. We didn't have test or quizzes. But, we do online hw for every sunday, and a take home midterm essay. Also, a group presentation, and final essay. She doesn't take attendance. Take her for government, she is amazing and cares about her students.
Ms. Miranda is very passionate and assures you can understand the importance of this class. The class is what you make of it, if you tune out you miss out. If you listen then you learn. The class is discussion heavy, homework is simple, communicates clearly, sometimes uses videos, we had one final, one presentation, she is down to earth and funny.
Honestly she is good professor and she use power point to help you for explanation about the govt. Also her finals is just essay sometimes about any issues today and how govt should fix it. Is really easy class.
When she starts the discussion and you know you are able to jump into it, thats giving the student the freedom to act in the discussion
this professor has really great lectures. she really cares for her students, and will help you. communication is really big with her so if you have questions or you cant make it to class, just email her. she gets that the majority of us have to take this class as a requirement so she doesn't expect much from us. 2 papers.
Attendance not necessary but in order to pass you need to pay attention to the discussions in class. There is a weekly reading assignment in Inquisitive (Online Textbook) but other than that is midterm/final and a project. Those 3 requires class discussions knowledge in order to get a good grade and comprehensive thinking. It is not a hard class.
This professor gives lectures that are easy to understand. You can communicate with her via email and you can see her in her office hours if you have any questions, she is very open to answering your question. You need to do 18 inquisitive homework which is very easy as well. 2 papers and one group presentation.
there were only a few things we were graded on, but the topics were not too hard. She really cares about this subject, and she knows her stuff. I enjoyed the class itself because she let us speak on whatever the discussion was, so if you like to talk in class then this class is for you.
She makes you have a whole another perspective about looking at things when it comes to questioning things about our government. She is also a very cooperative teacher. I woupd tale her anytime again.
While the class is heavily lecture-based, attendance is not mandatory but keep in mind if you miss too much class you will not be able to do well on the midterm and final as both are from lectures.
Shes very short tempered.
Straight forward, good professor.
She is absolutely amazing. Honestly you will be fine if you follow the syllabus and attend class. Her lectures are really intriguing and she loves to help or answer questions. All around phenomenal professor.
Loved her real life application to our government, and ability to connect and relate to her students on a deeper level! I enjoyed her class because she is guaranteed to make sure that we are actually learning, not just memorizing information that goes in one ear out the other. She makes the material interesting and engaging. Take her!
I thought taking this credit I was going to end up failing, without a doubt. But she does her best to engage you and inform you what you should know. Not for the test but for real life. Other than midterm&final you only gotta do weekly quizzes (super easy) and in class discussions daily.
Loved this Prof. Ashworth cause she made me think. If you are into a discussion type class then I highly recommend this teacher!
Overall, she makes learning about government self explanatory in a good way. If your into class discussions and talking to classmates ... this could be the class for you.
Three major assignments a presentation, a midterm essay, and a final exam essay. Starts off the class with questions and those questions are the the ones that are going to be on the essays. Presentations are in a group and are about current events. She grades the essays a little harder than the presentation but overall is really good in teaching.
Participation does matter, she like when the class gets involved. she gives essays questions based on the discussions we have had in class for the midterm and final. and there is a group project about currents events. Also don't skip the class you'll miss out on a lot.
You will learn in her class but only way is to participate. It helps having discussion with her and your peers in class. You don't have lots of assignments so make sure you do them! Would take her again.
I have nothing against professor Ashworth its just she is not one of my better professors. And that is understanble considering she teaches Texas Government. The only problem with her is that she is not considerate of other people's situations. However, I do respect her for her Frankness.
Good teacher and really passionate about what shes teaching about. Wants to inspire those to learn about Texas and how we have a say to fix what we can. There are 14 learning assignments which require the textbook. Pretty easy but are long and do require you to read the textbook. Easy but if you work and do school then these can be difficult to do
do not do the inquizitives late!
An absolutely wonderful professor!! Her class is run very discussion / person-based rather than grade-based where she cares for her students and wants them to learn beyond the book, but also holds then to fair standards on assignments and grading. Love it!! (Easy A if you participate + keep up with the work, but be wary of falling behind! :P )
Professor Ashworth is amazing professor! The class is very lecture heavy and there are a total of 2 papers and a group project. The class gives great insight to real problems, it allows students to break down arguments, and view them in different perspectives.
Attendance is not mandatory, but she expects you to show up on presentation days and to at least learn about the information presented in class on the missed day. You must have reasonable writing and presentation skills if you want to do well on three of the graded assignments which are the Midterm, Final, and the Group presentations.
She is the best teacher I have ever had since attending lone star college. She is easy but you have to do the work and do it on time
She is great. She teaches just what you need to learn and she does it in an easy way.
She teaches in an easy way that you will learn just by paying attention.
She is very passionate about what she is teaching and making sure her students know whats going on with the government today. She lets us know what we need to know during her lectures.
Lectures are mostly in class discussions which are very engaging. No tests, only a midterm and a final essay which are based on class discussions and then a group presentation. Easy class as long as you at least listen to discussions.
This professor is amazing. She genuinely does care about her students and what they are learning. She is extremely knowledgeable about the subject matter and gets the students excited about it too. I would 100% hands down take her again!
US Gov was composed of only 4 major grades: Midterm, which was an essay; Presentation, on a documentary/podcast; InQuizitive quizzes, about 18; and the Final, another essay. She gives rubric for all of them, but I suggest you talk to her if you want an A, she has high expectations. 3 extra credits that will only go to the final, as +10 points.
She really opens your eyes to the real world. She really takes the time to hear our own thoughts respectfully and makes interesting dicussions in class. She's funny and helpful. However, she won't baby you. You need to be in class, pay attention, and take good notes. Also, turn in your work on time by working on it ahead of time. Then you'll pass.
she knows how to explain, there are not many assignments in class so better do all of them to make sure you pass, more than that just show up and pay attention do your homework and you will pass. BEST teacher !!
professor, I'd take her again. Class isn't mandatory but you definitely need to go to write the midterm essay and final essay. Classroom is more of a discussion environment and not so much lecture.
This professor focuses mainly on the important stuff rather than going through a textbook word by word. Some great examples are given although some take up more time than what is needed and leaves less time for lecture.
She is nice and helpful. We had 4 grades: inquisitive(online), 1 major presentation, midterm essay and final exam essay both were from in class questions & discussions. Try to be a regular student, pay attention and ask questions face to face or via email. Good Luck!
I really liked Mrs. Ashworth as a professor. She was very passionate and wanted to makes us feel like we have a power to make a difference we just have to care enough. As far as grades, it was a midterm essay, a partner project, and the final essay plus 1-2 weekly online quizzes (you could do over til you get 100). Pretty easy for me.
She is nice & helpful. We had 4 grades: inquisitive(online and esay 100 just do on time),1 major presentation, midterm essay & final exam essay both were from in class discussions & questions. Pay attention & ask questions! Of course, have to do the work to get good grades
Again shes an awesome! Shes not a liberal or conservative and its much more comfortable being a conservative and a trump supporter in her class even tho I dont speak up to my beliefs
If you're not serious about school then don't take her, but if you care even a little and give the class appropriate attention you'll pass with an A and actually learn something about the country we live in
Very nice professor with engaging presentations and is open to communication and participation. Entire class is based on online homework, two papers, and a group project, so make sure you get them done. Not for people who aren't strong writers.
Be sure to take her classes if you get the chance! She's easy to communicate with and will help you however she can. Be sure to do your work and be open for discussion
Professor Ashworth is the best! She will make you understand everything about government. The class is lecture heavy so dont miss class, its essay heavy but not bad just like if you do the essays well you will pass. She also has inquisitive.
She is very knowledgeable and passionate about the government. She only has 3 grades, the first one is online quizzes, the second one is the midterm paper, and the last one is the final (which is an essay).
Only 3 assignments. Quizlet hw, one essay and the final (another essay). Attendance is not required but the final is based on what was taught. Great class, professor answers questions as clear as possible.
Prof. is extremely competent & passionate. I am genuinely sad this class has come to an end. Her enthusiasm for the subject & social change is contagious. Over the entire course: 1 group project, 2 papers (1 take-home for midterm, 1 in-class for final) & a weekly assignment that takes 30min online. It was easy in coursework but I learned a lot.
Her class is really easy! Weekly assignment that you take online on your own time, midterm is a take home paper, group presentation and a final exam. TAKE HER IF YOU WANT AN A!!
Her classes are based on discussions. She doesn't have tests but final and midterm are essays based on the discussions. There's only one group project grade. The course overall is pretty easy and she makes government interesting.
She cares to have her students engage in class discussions and that everyone provide some form of feedback/respect/opinion and educated thought. Most of her class involve discussions and critical thinking. Her daily grades are online. Her exams are essay format. She provides handouts sometimes. Textbook is alright. Extra credit sometimes!
Professor Ashworth has very few grades inquisitive, midterm, final and a group project. Not a hard class as long as you do the work on time. She willing to help as long as you dont slack in class.
Great professor.
It was a great semester in the professors class.
I would like for her never use inquisitive again.
As long as you participate and show up you should. be okay, she's nice, likes to tease, but doesn't feel bad for you if you mess up as long as it's your own fault. Gives you ple ty of opportunities to succeed,. solid professor.
Great class with in depth discussions and chances for student participation.
Best government professor I could have picked. Gives very interesting lectures full of videos & class discussions. She really cares about making an impact in this world and not so much about giving us busy unnecessary work like many other professors tend to do. Very easy weekly homework online, a group presentation, midterm & final paper. TAKE HER!
Professor Ashworth is a great Professor. She really wants her student to learn about the class. She really cares about the success of the students. However the mid term and final are short papers. So if your not the best writer you might want think about that.
Professor Ashworth is truly one of the best professors i've ever had. Her class made me so much more socially and politically aware and opened my eyes to some things I wasn't really familiar with before. She does encourage discussions about topics with the class and the final is an in class essay. Overall I would highly recommend her for Fed. Gov.t
She makes her lectures very entertaining by talking about current events and having discussions! Even when she has her days for reading off the PowerPoint she manages to not make it boring. Participation is recommended to help you with the midterm & final. Only 3 homework sessions a week & thats about it!
Prof. Ashworth is a caring teachers with a passion for government. Thus, she chooses interesting topics about recent developments in politics which helps you understand the material! Also, the discussions are very interesting where you can give your opinion/ point of view about topics that matter in Texas. In conclusion, don't search further!
Professor Ashworth is a great professor, she gets the audience engaged into her lecture and this class is worth taking!
Professor Ashworth only grades 4 things. Inquisitive, Midterm, Final, and a presentation. This class is very heavy on class discussions so participate. As long as you pay attention in class and write down notes from class discussion you will be fine.
Probably one of the best professors Ive had, shes really good at what she does and explains everything in a way that almost everyone can understand.
Inquizitive homework (use Quizlet to help you), one take home exam essay, one group project, and a final essay. She keeps up with present problems in our government and incorporates them in class which is great for her to do that. She tries to make the class engaging and she's available when needed!
Amazing class! Professor Ashworth will take the class and inform you about current issues going on in the country in a totally exciting way
Professor Ashworth was a good professor to have for Texas Government. She is willing to help her students pass and help them learn more about the current issues that are happening in our government. Her class is mostly based on participation. In her class, there are InQuizitive assignments for each chapter, a midterm, a presentation, and a final.
She missed 3 weeks of class and gave us a hard essay as a final do in class. She doesn't know how to give instructions. She made us pay extra to have to the online page to do the homework. She definitely shouldn't be a professor because she doesn't care about students opinions. Be careful because she makes everyone think she is smart but she is not
shes an amazing teacher and will give great feedback. show up to her lectures for tests.
She is a great Professor, not difficult at all. She helps students whenever they need her. Would definitely take her class again.
Professor Ashworth was a great professor, just be careful because there is only so many grades for the semester. Overall you just need to pay attention in class and synthesize the terms you learn to your assignments and you will be good.
Great professor one of the best ones Ive had, she is really respectful and really wants you to pass and cares about you and I love that!
Shes awesome, I totally recommend her!
I really enjoyed this class and I would strongly recommend those who need the credit to take professor Ashworth, she is truly an amazing instructor.
Shes a really good at what she does and gives very interesting lectures with current issues too.
She is an amazing teacher! Shes very passionate about what she teaches. As long as you show up, take notes, do your homework thats not difficult, youll be fine. I enjoyed this class very much.
Great teacher! Take her if possible! Shes also very interactive!
She is the best professor for Government. She lets you participate. But its an easy class.
Great teacher had a positive learning experience
Professor Miranda, has a positive learning environment, she is nice but attendance is a must to pass in her class
She was pretty easy going, only compliant is she would get annoyed with people and it made class a bit awkward, but nothing out of the ordinary. Easy class and she is pretty clear on what her grading criteria is. No test, just inquisitive, a take home midterm paper, project, and in class final paper.
This professor is knowledgeable and enjoys her teaching material, is prepared and organized, and uses different teaching methods to maintain attention. Ms Ashworth is fair, positive and caring. Your attendance in class is not mandatory but expected because your mid and final essay tests are based on class discussions.
Teacher will help you if you are struggling. Just do the work required and you can get an easy A
She was one of the best professor I have ever had. Her class is like conversations back and forth and made me actually understand how government works. We had one group project, but we got to choose our own partners. Midterm and final are both essays about what we talked about in class. Text book was not used, but we did take quizzes, not hard.
Prof. Ashworth is a special professor, the way she teaching and inspire you is interesting. 2 papers and 1 presentation. She always helpful and always respect every different perspectives from students. Very knowledgeable, if you love GOVT or politics she is the best choice of your GOVT classes. I wanted to take her GOVT 2306 but is full.
Professor Ashworth knows her stuff! She is a very cool relatable person and we didnt have a lot of work in that class except for two papers and a presentation!
I loved professor Ashworth her lectures were always so interesting and she definitely knew how to expand your mind on current events/issues. Her assignments consisted of inquisitive, Two open-ended question essays 1 for the final and 1 for the midterm (3-4 pgs), One project and that's it. All you really have to do is pay attention to her lectures.
Professor Ashworth was a really amazing teacher. I had 2 essays, and 1 project. Homework is done through inquisitive! Really easy class, in which I learned a lot and definitely ended the semester a lot more open minded about government and politics then before. You can tell she really cares about her students.
Professor Ashworth is by far the best government teacher I've ever had. She makes sure to give everyone a chance to boil their opinions and then challenges them, regardless of what you believe. She remains completely unbiased during the entire class. The homework is pretty easy and she's a hard grader on essays, but she's always willing to help.
Professor Ashworth is an amazing professor, very knowledgeable, and very passionate about her subject. She teaches you the way that you can see how the government is so important in your daily life. You have to complete a quiz for each chapter on Quizlet every week, the midterm is an essay, a presentation with a partner and a fina exam is an essay.
Shes the best, especially during quarantine. Trust me when I say take this class with this professor. You will not be disappointed. Very very caring. Very compassionate about her job and beliefs.
taking this class was one of the best choices i made this semester. it was a really fun class there is not a lot of pressure when it comes to he grade, as long as you can write you can pass the class. in this class i actually learned things about the government!!!!
This class is extremely fair. If you do what you are supposed to do(which is not much compared to other classes) there is no reason you can not pass. Professor Ashworth never took longer than 2 hours to respond to my emails, and her class is broken down into easily accomplishable weeks. Best online class I have ever had.
Was supposed to be in person, but because if COVID we had to move online. She didnt really interact much. Self-paced & just put all the work you needed to do on D2L. The worst part was the video quizzes that were only 3 questions each, so if you missed one you got a 66. Other than that she was ok, just wish she interacted more
She is such a awesome teacher, she really loves what shes talking about and makes it so easy to understand! The only work is a group project and essays that are simple if you go to class and understand the topic. She is also fast at replying to emails and care about her student.
She is very nice! I took her online during the pandemic and she is probably my best teacher . She does a lot of discussion posts and no tests so if you are better at writing more than tests this is perfect. You dont have to speak in class but she encourages you too! Great class would take again.
she is really clear on her instructions and even during the pandemic she was able to make the lectures online and easy to follow. Super nice and caring she respects everyone. Highly recommend her class!!
She is an amazing professor i highly recommend her! She is very nice caring and respects you. Her lectures are interesting and she makes the material fun to learn. She handled covid very well and still made the online class easy to follow.
She's very caring and respects you. She isn't a tough grader and responds to your emails in a timely manner. You have to complete a quiz for each chapter and participate in discussions every week. There is a big project that is broken down into 4 parts. The last part is a research essay, aka the final.
Professor Ashworth is an incredible professor! If you can take her for any GOVT class, do it. She is super clear in what she is expecting of you and truly cares about her students. She doesn't take attendance, but participation matters for her classes! For her online classes, there is a major writing/research project, so just be aware of that.
Prof. Ashworth is everything I wanted. She was non biased and respectful of all the diff. beliefs we had in class. We had great discussion and I never felt scared talking in class. She loves to see your face and is ready to help you. No group projects, text book open inquizitives, final was a paper. She cares about understanding over format. LOVED.
Prof. Ashworth is one of my few great professor I met. It is my pleasure that I could had a chance to enrolled Prof. Ashworth's classes. I took her classes for a whole year which are GOVT 2305 & 2306. She always respect everybody and always give you great feedback of your assignments. Take her class and enjoy it!
Prof. Ashworth is one of my great professors since I have been at Lone Stare College. It was my pleasure that enrolled in her GOVT 2306. She always respects everyone and provides feedback on your assignments. She answers your email fast and respectively. I wish LSC hire more like Professor Ashworth. Take her class and enjoy it!
I took her fall of 2020 when COVID impacted a lot of the classes. She really knows what she's talking about. There were no tests, but she used inquizitive and discussion for a majority of your grade. The final is a paper that you work on throughout the semester. She is a fair grader for the most part, just read the directions and follow her format.
Professor Ashworth was one of my favorite professors of all time. I took her for fall 2020 and it was an online class with scheduled class meetings. Every week we had 3 5 question assignments and discussion posts with a two peer reply. This class there are a lot of discussions in and out of the scheduled meetings. Personally enjoyed every second.
Professor Ashworth is the best choice for government class. there will be a discussion board every week, Inquisitive, a political event summary, and the final will be a research paper that's divided into four sections. I can tell you that you will like it.
Professor Ashworth gives great feedback and she definitely knows what she is doing. Easy class to pass. There are lots of writing though. Discussions every week and you need to respond to 2 classmates. Take her!!!
Professor Ashworth is the best choice for the government class. There are discussion boards every week, Inquisitive, a political event summary, and the final will be a research paper that's divided into four sections. You should take her class.
This professor shows you the compassion and empathy most professors should have during these trying times. It was an honor to be in her class.
By far one of the best Professors! Very good lectures and is always open to hear out students opinions. Although the class I took was online she made sure to still make our online meetings interesting.
Took her online this past semester for GOVT 2305 & I signed up again for her GOVT 2306 lecture. I didn't think I would like GOVT, but her lectures were interesting & insightful. Most assignments were paper-based, our final is a research paper & we had weekly discussions & InQuizitives due. It was a fairly easy class if you're good with papers
By far on of the best classes I've taken. The assignments were easy not long at all, we didn't have any test the whole semester, everything was due at the end of the week, we had one research paper due at the end of the semester. The lecture were enjoyable and interesting even though I not into politics.
Professor Ashworth was awesome during this semester. She is very clear when lecturing, and she even posted the powerpoints for us to use. Very smart and informed person. She encouraged everyone to be informed and know what happens in the government. One of the best professors you'll have for a government class! Solid 11/10
Originally this class was set to be a hybrid but we converted to online with once a week meetings for lecture. I always enjoyed the conversations we would have about current events! We had 3 super short assignments every week, as well as a discussion post, Inquisitive and the final is a paper. Not too much of a work load if you manage time well!
I loved professor ashworth shes one of the chill and nice person that i ever had i thought the class will be hard honestly the class wasnt even that hard even though its a hybrid course other than that i picked the best class and professor
I took her last year for GOVT 2305 so i had to take her again for GOVT 2306his class was originally a hybrid, but due to COVID-19 it was fully online. Professor Ashworth is one of the best professors, she is very organized, and she cares about her students! We had a discussion post every week, inquizitive, and research paper as our final.
I took her class during the Covid-19 pandemic and she was responded to the situation in a great way. She is very clear about what she is expecting and her lectures are very interesting. The work is really easy just one discussion a week and an inquisitive and the final was an essay that she has had up the entire semester.
Great teacher. Would recommend to anyone. Gives extra credit, zoom calls were constructive and informative.
This is my second time taking professor Ashworth class. The class is engaging, informative, and overall interesting. If you are a person who is looking to learn more about how the government and politics works and get to have a meaningful discussion about it, then you should definitely take professor Ashworth class.
I took her class online and i was pretty skeptical but it was one of my favorite class. It was a supper easy with only a final paper, weekly quizzes, and weekly discussion posts. We learned about the government and talked about current events which the students basically lead the conversation. She cares about her students and an amazing teacher.
She talks about current events and encourages everyone to talk. We had 1 discussion post, 3 four question short quizzes and 1 inquizative per week. Everything open at the beginning of the semester. I thought it was an easy class I just did not get along with her political views that is the only reason why I would not take her again.
Professor Ashworth is very chill and laid back, she gives multiple opportunities for extra credit and gives great feedback. For classwork, we had 14 total discussions (1 per week), 14 inquisitives, a bunch of easy quizzes , and a final paper. You'd have to try to get less than a B. This class is a MUST take if you want to improve your GPA.
Professor Ashworth is one of the best Professors i have ever had. she is always there for her students whether it be about the course or life situations. You need to take her course!!!
She's a great professor, great personality, & very clam on every topic. She's very respectful of different opinions. She has great patience; even when I was being difficult. My only issue is that she is hard to contact after hours & takes days to reply. She does have a second job, so its understandable and this is her first time doing things online
Professor Ashworth grades pretty easy as long as you meet the requirements in writing (word count and content). There are 1 or 2 Inquizitive assignments and 1 discussion each week. Final is a research paper.
Not a hard professor, don't forget about the inquizitives! , attend online class meetings if you wanna see her two dogs :)
Professor Ashworth made government 2 simple and fun. We needed to do video quizzes each week but they are really easy if you pay attention to the videos and pictures on the quiz. We only had one paper which was also the final exam, no midterm. You can pass even if you do not go to the weekly meetings but to understand better it is better if you go.
I took Professor Ashworth for Texas Government, and she was great! We met online at a specific time every week and mostly just talked over current events. The only major assignment you have is a research paper that takes a lot of work throughout the semester. There are also weekly quizzes and questions through the virtual textbook that arent hard
I had Prof. Ashworth for GOVT 2305, and I will retake her for GOVT 2306. There are weekly discussions, Inquizitives, and a research paper. The discussions take most of the semester's work, but the discussions are fun and about modern and relevant topics. As long as you give your opinion and use key terms, you will be good. Take her if you can
Professor Ashworth is literally a good professor, she is accessible outside of class and the work is easy if you are following up! Honestly classes online were pretty interesting and she definitely lets you speak and acknowledges that your voice matters! Pretty Rad, if I tell you so myself.
Professor Ashworth was absolutely great. She is extremely knowledgeable which made class interesting. She was meticulous with her class meetings. This helped with actually learning the material. As for class work it was easy, very straightforward.
Professor Ashworth teaches in a very progressive way, rather than relying on the textbook and memorizing terms, dates, or people; she uses current events, documentaries, podcasts, and youtube videos to show you the world of politics and how it's worth engaging and participating in. If you like to have insightful discussion, look nowhere else!
This is my second time taking professor Ashworth but this time with set Webex meeting days and time, no in-person contact. grades are based on Discussion boards and participation, inquisitive, 3 mini multiple choice assignments, and an Essay as the final. not attending the Webex meeting won't affect your grade but I absolutely loved her lectures!
Professor Ashworth did an excellent job of teaching this course online. The class has weekly modules and no tests. She allows students to discuss current events during her weekly lectures which made the class very enjoyable. Shes a very caring and open minded person so I would definitely take this class with her.
Professor Ashworth is a great teacher. Be prepared to write a lot but nothing so crazy. Her online class was fairly easy and I would take another class with her again.
I just took Texas Govt class with Professor Ashworth online and it was a very easy class. I like that she constantly brings up current events as a way to teach the class, but I will say that for this class I felt like it wasn't necessary to pay attention in the lectures. This is a good option if you are just trying to earn the credit for the class.
I took her for my GOVT 2305 face-to-face and GOVT 2306 online. I honestly was not interested in Government once I took her classes. I really liked how she teaches because her lectures were very interesting and insightful, absolutely not boring because she gives you the confidence to participate. Our final was a research paper, She is very caring.
I took Professor Ashworth for her Federal Government online class this past semester and it was super easy! There was a quiz and discussion every week and 2 writing assignments, one being a political event and the final research paper which she breaks down for you. As long as you participate and aren't terrible at writing you should pass!
Since this was a unexpected online course the set up of the class was thrown for a loop. However even with the change from hybrid to online Professor Ashworth still managed to create a very warm and friendly learning environment. This was a great class that I really enjoyed and I would definitely take her again.
The best professor I had so far at Lone Star College, her lecture style is very interactive and inspirational.
The class I took with her was a Hybrid class but turned into online because of Covid. Her online format was clear and helpful, there was weekly webex meetings and Inquizative assignments along with 3 simple quizzes and a discussion post each week. No tests, our final was a research paper. Understandable and gives extra credit. Amazing professor!
Very good professor, I have taken her twice already. You really get to speak your mind in her class without feeling like she will judge you. She will always be willing to listen to your opinions and contribute/help to with any problem or issue you may have. Always accessible and always in contact with her students as long as you participate
Great professor! This class moved online due to COVID. Everything was easy to understand. During the Webex meetings she allows you to speak your opinions and she never judges you. You have Inquizitive assignments, weekly discussions, a political event paper which was very simple, and instead of a final you have a research paper.
Professor Ashworth is LITERALLY the BEST government teacher I have ever had!! She is very quick to grade as well as respond to emails. She actually cares about her students and is there for them. I took this class originally being scheduled in-person, but because of coronavirus, it switched to an online synchronous class. Only met once a week!
very passionate about not only what she does, but making sure her students are engaged in her lectures. She loves to inspire her students to go out and change the world and is very genuine. I enjoyed taking her class during these hard times, she definitely made things easier. Her class is more about listening to what she says, very eye opening
By far one of the best professors I had. Professor Ashworth made lectures enjoyable and entertaining although I didn't love the subject. Assignments were not difficult however there are weekly 300 word discussion post due every Saturday. Weekly assignments consisted on 3 quizzes with about 5 questions each, one inquizitive, and one discussion post.
Professor Ashworth is a very laidback teacher. Since I took her class in a pandemic, and everything was online, so she understands what her students are going through. I took her class before but for this time, she didn't give us a lot of papers to write or to prepare a group presentation like last year. Overall, amazing and cool teacher.
This is my second time taking this professor, but first time taking an online class like this due to COVID-19 restrictions. Every week as a class there were inquisitive assignments, weekly video lectures, discussion boards, a few different quizzes, and research paper that was our final. Might seem like a lot, but she paces out the work so its easy!
Since all due to covid, I took her class. I really thought it was going to be hard and will not be able to understand certain lectures. Overall it was the complete opposite, she will listen to what you believe and want to say to each lecture. She would want you to be able to understand and she would do side meetings, which was pretty cool.
Be ready to work, every week we have inquisitive assignments, video lectures, discussion boards, quizzes, a political event paper and our final exam is the research paper. I have gone through a really difficult time due COVID , but she has been always willing to help me. Miss Ashworth is very helpful and caring.
This is my second semester with Professor Ashworth and she is definitely the best. She is very organized and is very helpful if you need assistance. I would definitely recommend her!
Great professor with well organized insightdul lectures. All the assignments are clear but if you happen to have any questions she is happy to help. Her online class consists of weekly discussion post and inquizitives, a political writing assignment, and final research paper. She has a passion for what she does and it shows.
I took her Texas Gov class & she was amazing! Gave lots of feedback for the research paper, which she uses in lieu of a final exam. Her lectures were easy going & not hard to understand. She gave us time every class to discuss political issues w/ her & it showed that she cared about us & our opinions . Weekly homework assignments not hard at all.
I believe I would have better enjoyed Professor Miranda Ashworth course in a classroom. Nothing was wrong she is a good teacher, I just wish I got to interact in a classroom with her to have a better experience.
Professor Ashworth made it easy to learn about government. She always let us voice our opinions and made lectures interesting. Online class consists of weekly discussion posts, inquizitives, a political debate paper, and a final research paper.
The professor is good, she is understanding of the current situation we're in regarding the pandemic which is nice. Assignments are simple like discussions, inquisitives, and one paper as your final. Participate and do the work and you'll pass.
Professor Ashworth is the best. I took her Govt2305 online, and it was fairly okay, only because she does give out inquzattives and discussions weekly. The discussions were all good, you do have to reach a certain number of words but it was really easy. I would totally take her again in person or online.
Professor Ashworth was one of the best professors I've ever had. Her lectures are pretty helpful and detailed, she provides good feedback, and is there when you need help. She has weekly discussions which are easy, Inquizitives, and few major assignments. There are no exams and the final is a research project.
I'm lucky to be able to take her next class as she is a great professor and is very open minded. She allows people to speak their mind and makes sure that it is a safe environment for everyone. Her online class does involve a lot of writing, so if you are a strong writer, you will enjoy this class.
Professor Ashworth is a great option. Her lectures are never boring and you want to keep learning. The final is a research paper. The work isn't too time-consuming allowing you to have time for other classes. She responds to emails fast and even stays after class to answer questions. Overall a great professor!
Professor Ashworth is great. She takes her time and explains current politics and doesnt mind if your respectfully have a different opinion. You have to do the work to get an A, however, she gives great feedback and tells you exactly what you have to do to get an A. I wish I would have taken her for Government 2305. Great instructor!
Put whatever answer, take a picture of the correct answer, eventually you'll get through all the questions and you now have all of the answers, no need to read the textbook at all. She'll give tips if you show up to her office hours at the beginning of the semester and show you care about your grade. Super sweet
Professor Ashworth really made me enjoy government, she always talked about current issues. There's several inquizitives and a final research paper.
This is the best professor I ever have before. She cares for her students and reply email so fast. I took 2305 and 2306 so enjoy and no stress at all.
Prof. Ashworth is unique in her teaching style. Easy to approach and clear in explanations.
I took professor Ashworth for Federal gov last semester and Texas gov this spring semester. Both classes are very similar. Her non-mandatory web ex meetings are so much more than just talking about the text book etc. Definitely enjoyed her class. Just be communicate to her if you're having any issues. She's a student herself, she will understand.
Professor Ashworth is the exact type of professor that should teaching a government class, especially in this political climate. She's big on respectful political debates and informed discussion. Also, attend class, do the weekly discussions and do the inquisitives. If you're a good writer this is your time to shine.
I wasnt too excited to take Government, as I am not a political science person in the slightest, but professor Ashworth made a otherwise boring class awesome! I loved her lectures, shes so chill. If you ever have any questions email her. She worked with me this past semester during a very difficult and unexpected time and was super helpful!!
I highly recommend taking professor ashworth! Her class is very easy and simple. Every week there is an inquistive chapter to do, 3 simple 4-5 question quizzes which she gives you the material for, and 1 discussion. The final is a 5-7 page essay on a topic she has on her list. Her class is very straightforward and she is very kind and compassionate
I took her for GOVT 2305 and I'm now finishing with her 2306 class, I will say this class had more weekly assignments but nothing impossible. She is very well informed about the Texas Govt. and would center homework around the course. Weekly work: Inquizitive, 3 quizzes, and a 300 word discussion Final: 5 to7 pg. Research paper Overall take her!
I took her for 2305 and 2306 during the pandemic. She made the class interesting despite the fact it was online! The final is a research paper and weekly discussion. Overall a great professor.
Professor Ashworth is a great government professor. She knows what shes talking about and explains things in ways students can comprehend. Her class is work but its easily paced.
Professor Ashworth is a great professor. She knows how to connect to her students easily and explains things very well and in detail. I would definitely recommend her class to anyone!
She is by far the most chill professor I've had so far at LSC and since this class is aboout the texas government, you chat about politics thru webex. This class and professor genuinely made me engage in more political conversations at home. Not only that but this class is super easy since we only have inquizative assignments and a final essay.
I enjoyed taking professor Ashworth class. It was very interesting and we were always able to share our opinions. Her assignments are easy, I recommend taking her!
Professor Ashworth's class was pretty easy. It was not work heavy at all, you basically had 3 short quizzes (4-5 questions each) and one discussion post per week. There are no tests in this course, only one final which is a 5-7 page essay. Would take her again!
At first, I was scared of Govt, ever since I search all the professor's reviews, and I chose this professor as my govt class. I really think this class is light, not too many articles to write, and also can take the quiz easy to get points. I recommend you to take this professor
Took both 2305 & 2306 with her and she is the best! Her assignments are easy and she is always engaged with her students. Lectures are not boring due to being well informed with Government and current news. You can tell she is passionate for what she teaches. Highly recommend taking her she is understanding, organized, and communicative.
Professor Ashworth's class is pretty easy. You'll have 3 short quizzes (4-5 questions each) and 1 discussion post per week. There is no test, just a research paper (5-7 pages) as a final. I would recommend you to take her.
Professor Ashworth is a great professor, her class is super easy as long as you submit everything on time. You have a discussion, 3 easy quizzes and inquisitive every week, it was very manageable though and easy. You have a research paper that is due at the end of the semester, but she helps you with the essay if needed help. Definitely take her!
Professor Ashworth was a great professor. She was easy to get in touch with and very helpful.
took her the fall of 2021. Shes a teacher with good character but has more homework assignments than my other 4 classes. Video quizzes, quizzes, Inquisitives, and regular assignments. She didnt respond to my email after she failed me an assignment which I worked hard on. I wouldnt recommend her to anyone, im surprised she has a high rating.
She does not give out tests, it's a research paper at the end. very chill, no due dates till the end of the semester. work on quizzes on your own time. During class wants you to bring up current events for participation. She does not round your grade so make sure you are happy where you are at.
Ms. Ashworth is very open-minded. She respects different political views and encourages us to see the other person's point of view. Highly recommend taking this professor. This is my first college course and I have no regrets.
I took Prof. Ashworth's online class this past Fall 2021 semester. Even though I am not into government or online classes, it is a pretty simple class. She requires you to be on Webex every Tuesday for lectures, other than that assignments are pretty simple and 14 inquizitive chapters everything due at the end of the semester. Not easy, but simple!
Took this class for fall 2021 definitely one of the best professors i've had not inquizatives weekly and couple quizzes. No test required but you work on one paper throughout the year that is due at the end of the year
Professor Ashworth is the BEST choice. I struggle with test anxiety and she has no tests. Just one final paper, 14 InQuizitives that are fun, and small 4-5 question quizzes on videos and graphics. We met once a week on WebEx and talked about current events which I liked. She kept it modern day and didn't teach government in a boring way.
Take her! I loved her online class, the work was extremely easy, included 3 quick quizzes a week, Inquizitives, and a final paper. NO TESTS. Her lectures are very interesting and she talks a lot about current events which I found to be the highlight of the lecture. She's very flexible and doesn't grade any work until the last day of class. 10/10
Fantastic classroom format. she really lets us get right into political discourse by having us discuss current events at the beginning of all her classes. Assignments are easy as long as you read the material and final paper instead of Final Test. Overall a great experience.
I took professor Ashworth Miranda for federal government as well as Texas government online. We had 14 inquizitive assignments, short videos assignments, discussion assignments, and a research paper due at the end of the semester. She reply emails In timelymanner and provides good feedback. She is amazing with the current issues discussion.
I had Ms. Ashworth for my second government class, and she is one of my favorite professors I've had so far. I took her online WebEx class, and she always talked about current events and participation matters. Doesn't give tests. Is really flexible and cares about students' mental well-being.
Easiest class ever! She allows you to turn everything in at the end of the semester. The only thing that has to be turned in by a turn in date is the discussion posts but they are fairly simple and she does not grade to harshly.
I took Professor Ashworth Fall 2021. At first it may seem a little overwhelming but she gives a lot of time to finish all inquizitives and quizzes. There is no tests, only big assignment due is the research paper at the end of the semester. Overall, I really enjoyed this class, what I looked forward to the most were the current event discussions.
Professor Ashworth was by far one of the good professor's I've had. Although there were a lot of assignments we didn't have to take a test instead we did a paper that was introduced from the very beginning and her teaching was not boring at all because she connected her lessons to the present and was interesting and current events was a good start.
Professor Ashworth's gov class was an easy A. She is an amazing professor and does not try to make her class to difficult. The Final is a research paper, there are NO TESTS. The only thing you have to do is inquizitive and these weekly 4 question quizzes which are really easy. Just don't procrastinate and this class is so easy.
This was the first synchronous class I've taken and I really enjoyed it. She gives an InQuizitive and short activities per chapter, and all are due until the end of the semester. The greatest grade comes from a research paper, but it is also due until the end and she is very clear about what she wants. I would definitely take her again.
Professor Asworth is such a great professor. 5 major things to do, a final essay worth 40 percent(easy), 20 percent for InQuistive, 20 percent for participations, 20 percent for video quizzes. She also gives you the chance to share freely your views and ideas. I am taking her next semester for Texas govt.
Looking for a sign to take professor Ashworth? This is it! Her class was great and extremely informative, especially during class discussions. If you do not like to contribute to discussions, this class may not be for you. Overall, the course is SELF-PACED consisting of a research paper (final), and 3 other major assignments, and chapter quizzes.
Prof. Ashworth is a solid pick when attempting to learn about our government. We talk about current events through zoom as a class once a week and then she ties current events to government in an engaging way. There are no tests in this course, but rather an essay to write as the final exam. Inquisitives are the only thing I'm not fond of.
I would totally recommend taking Professors Ashworth's class.I honestly liked the way she structured her class with current events to star off allowing us to learn about things happening right now. There isn't a single exam only a research essay. There are a lot of quizzes but they are simple and 14 Quizitive. You can see her passion for government
Pretty good prof, i would take this class again. Need time management to do the small quizzes and inquizitives.
If you need to take either texas or the us government take her! Her online meetings are just discussions of current events as well as a quick review of the weekly materials covered in the homework. There is a participation grade for the discussion but she is an easy grader when it comes to papers and all the quizzes/inquisitive are online
She relates the course work with current events that are happening in the world, which helped me understand better the content. We dont have quizzes, we use inquizitive for the homework, and 1 final project. We meet twice a week and attendance/participation is 20% of the grade.
Professor Ashworth is a good professor, I personally was not a fan of the inquizitives, I feel like it is more of a hassle to deal with than anything else. The class is pretty straight-forward, and she is very relatable and answers any questions you have.
Miss Ashworth is an excellent teacher withing not having a single test in her course is a beautiful thing as I know that people hate tests. You need to have a single meeting, and those meetings are usually excellent as too you are free to talk about the recent news that happens around Texas or United States.
Good class not to much work but still a decent amount.
Professors Ashworth's course is one I would strongly recommend. I enjoyed how she started her lesson with current events, which allowed us to understand about what was going on at the time. There are several quizzes to choose from, but they are all basic and 14 Inquizitive.
Professor Ashworth is a great professor. This is my second time taking a class she teaches and I would choose to take her again if I needed a Gov course. She is young and also taking college courses currently so she does well understanding what it's like to be a college student. She has an awesome personality and funny humor. I recommend!
Professor Asworth is a great professor. Definitely enjoyed her Texas government course. I also took her for Federal Government. She is very organized, willing to help her students. No tests at all, just a final and weekly quizzes. Would definitely recommend taking her!
Great Teacher! All assignments are due at the end of the semester, so you can do them on you own time. You have to attend 2 webex lectures per week. Final is an essay that you can work throughout the semester.
Extremely nice, if you do zoom meetings she likes to talk about current issues and hear our options. I liked that because it gave me other peoples point of view to think about instead of just my point of view. Youll only do Inquisitive assignments, weekly quizzes and one essay which is your final. Everything is due at the end of the semester.
Great professor, would take again if I had to. Took her synchronous class in Fall 2021, she brought a great energy to class every meeting. Easy quizzes and assignments, participation matters, just an easy A to be honest. Would recommend 10/10.
This Professor is so far the best teacher I experienced all her work is due at the end of the semester except for the discussions. I would recommend not to keep everything till the very end cause there is somewhat some work. There are pretty easy quizzes each which are like 3-4 questions long. Overall I think this is very good professor.
She is a great profesor, has a clear layout of what to do each week. Took her 8 week course and it was easy but still learned a lot. Had 1 inquisitive , 1 chart quiz and 1 small chapter quiz every week. Everything is straight forward and easy. TAKE HER EASY A
super easy online course, keep up with the work and you'll get a good grade! i finished the class way early because she posts all of her assignments at the beginning of the year and you can go at your own pace. very organized d2l which was greatly appreciated! if govt isn't your best subject i def recommend this class. you won't regret taking it.
Highly would recommend this Course if your considering attending online! Professor Ashworth is very reliable & The course content & Instructions are easy to understand, Plus if you like to work ahead you have plenty of time to submit & turn in assignments!
The classwork/assignments are self-paced, do not wait till the last minute because you WILL fail. The final is an argumentative paper that she does have set deadlines for. Textbook required along with news articles - she's very intelligent and really loves her field of study. Good experience overall.
Professor is very strong minded and conducts productive lectures while also allowing student opinions. Very understanding of student circumstances and works with every student to keep them on track.
Professor Ashworth gave very informative and interactive lectures. She encourages students to give their opinions about material covered in the course and offered a judgment free environment to discuss political topics. The current event discussions were something to always look forward to and I gained some new perspectives through this course
she is great at making sure you understand the information and helps you apply it to your everyday life.
Professor Ashworth is definitely the ideal college professor. She will treat you like a college professor typically would, by making you be responsible for the assignments and due dates. As long as you show up to class, do the easy online assignments, and actually take the research paper serious, you will be fine.
Her current events are great, definitely answered a lot of the questions i had about politics with what I saw on social media. If you show up to class, do the easy online assignments, and take the research paper serious, you will be fine.
A fantastic professor, with eye-opening discussions. she is what makes college great, i would highly recommend for first time student who are taking Texas and federal government. A great teacher and an inspirational figure.
I looked forward to her class because we always spend the first part of the class talking about current events and I had a really good class that made it interesting. There are no tests, the major grades are just a research paper that is split up throughout the semester. She does use Inquizitive which I hate but I would still take her class again:)
The class was very easy and fun to attend! The professor incorporated current day events to make the course more relatable and she promoted having class discussions in order to fully grasp the concepts of Texas Government. The assignments are easy and manageable, which consisted of mini quizzes, inquisitive, and writing a final paper.
Great teacher, most work online and one paper at the end.
Favorite part was when we'd discuss current events. She says that she leans conservative, but I think that's not entirely accurate. She tries to remain impartial, but she tends to be affected by her political views. 1 research paper, 1 presentation using a textbook, and 1 short movie paper. The InQuizitive homework is easy if you read the textbook.
It's such a great class as long as you get the job done on time. I respect Ms. Ashworth a lot, it is hard to teach a class where you can't show your criteria. On other hand, I found the discussions on Current Events to be very constructive, definitely a class I would take again without hesitation.
Overall, I really enjoyed taking her class. Since I took this as a summer course, the homework and tests were very essay-heavy ( more writing based), but she grades easy. As long as you are on-topic and you express your own thoughts/opinions on the concept you should make a good grade.
Professor Ashworth's class was a good experience. I took this class during the summer, and it was manageable. I will warn you that there are a lot of writing assignments, but they are not hard. Lectures are primarily discussions, which makes them more interesting. I recommend this professor.
Professor Ashworth is a cool professor. She correlates current events with the assignments and if you put effort into the class you will do good.
Ms. Ashworth is a highly intelligent professor, who can give detailed feedback for essays, current news, or anything government-related in a highly unbiased and respectful way. I would recommend going to in-person discussions if your class encourages it, you learn the most that way and are better able to demonstrate understanding on assignments.
This was a 6 week summer course. It's a hybrid class so we met twice a week for lecture and the rest was online work. It consists of weekly inquizitives that are fairly easy but very time consuming, 5 current event assignments that are timely as well, 2 written test, participation pts as attendance, and a 5page essay that counts as the final. 10/10
Her class is pretty easy, however, there is a lot of writing involved so if you don't like that I don't think you would enjoy the class other than that the professor grades easily and as long you do all the work on time you'll do fine.
For a summer course, this class was 100% manageable if you do the work on time. Weekly papers and inquisitives that can take up a day or two. If you take this class I'd recommend staying on track and to take notes. I really enjoyed the class as someone who isn't into politics, it was very informative and doable. 9/10
It was an interesting class, I thought it was cool to see other students engaging and talking with each about topics that felt that they identify with in politics. But as someone who's not that into writing a lot, I tend to find myself bored with the coursework and there were other topics I probably would've chosen to write about instead.
Professor Ashworth is an amazing professor as she discusses current events relevant to our government issues. She doesn't give that much homework and the quizzes are fairly easy. Her grading is reasonable and the class is fairly enjoyable.
I learned a lot from this class! Professor Ashworth does a great job of explaining the government and how it functions.
Professor Ashworth is literally the best. I could say a lot, but I don't want to waste your time with stories. Take her if you can!
I took a hybrid class which took 50 minutes per lesson and 2 lessons per week so it was quite flexible but enough knowledge to absorb. Professor Ashworth has a high knowledge of politics and I was not a political person before this class but I learn a lot about politics and how our systems work after 16 weeks. Also, she gave many extra credits too.
There are about 18 InQuizitive assignments which take about 10 to 20 min each, a documentary or podcast to take notes on about every weekend and then it will be discussed in the following class session, and then a research paper as the final. The class is a lot of fun and isn't difficult. You will learn a lot about what's going on in the world.
She is a really understanding professor and makes sure we know what is going on in the world. There are no tests or quizzes, just a final paper, but you have to take notes during the semester to get a good grade on the paper. There is homework every week, but it is just to make sure we are keeping up with relevant topics.
There's just one textbook, for which you only need the online version for quizzes. There's one paper due at the end of the semester. The lectures are really just giant classroom discussions that engage the students. Professor Ashworth is singlehandedly the best GOVT or Poli Sci professor you'll ever have the privilege of taking. I highly recommend.
She is an excellent Professor. She encourages class discussions. Very open to disagreements. Always ready to help. Not very tough on attendance, gives many opportunities for extra credit. There is one major research essay at the end.
She is a very good professor, she does current events too, which makes it really fun. There are no exams, just inquizitives and I 2 papers, Super easy class if you pay attention, not work heavy.
It is a very easy class, not very hard or work-heavy. There are no exams, just 2 papers and inquizitives. Really easy class, if you pay attention. Also, she does current events, so its fun. Take her!
Professor Ashworth is a very caring and involved teacher. Her teaching style is less hands-on and more about the conversations you will have in class. Class participation in discussion is mandatory. If you're looking for a government class to get a good grade and not be overloaded by busy work she is the one to pick. Only one essay.
Amazing professor! Simple course outline - weekly current events, and one research essay due at the end of the semester. You do have to pay for access to Inquizitives, but the textbook will be included in the website. Attendance is important for the class, but she gives opportunities for extra credit. Make sure to participate during class!
Participation. Matters. If you are an introvert who prefers to write their thoughts rather than speak them then this is not the professor you may want to take. Overall an easy class there is weekly InQuizitives which were easy and there is one essay due at the end of the course but you get to choose the topic.
Professor Ashworth is an excellent teacher she is easy on and weekly homework is very easy but it is very easy over all the final is a research paper about whatever current event and she takes attendance and it for a grade but overall great class and professor
Professor Ashworth is AMAZING!!!! She is very engaging in her lectures and takes her students opinions seriously. Do yourself a favor and take her class. You will actually learn something from it, even if you are taking the class just because it is a requirement.
Take this professor ASAP. Interesting conversations/topics and course load is light. If you have heavy schedule and need a filler class this is it. 10/10
Assignments were: notes & discussions on a current event, inquizitives, & final paper. Fairly easy grader & gives good instructions & examples for her assignments. No group work. Lecture & discussion heavy. Open to the full spectrum of opinions. Cares for the well-being & success of students. Responds to emails fairly fast as well. Loved her.
Her lectures are very interesting and it is required to participate because you receive a grade for that but overall its a great class take and professor ashworth makes it better
She is very engaging, I really have loved the class. There are very few grades though and no tests. There were just some online quizes, a presentation and an essay so you really have to get everything done.
I took Professor Ashworth for a 3 week mini-mester and she was awesome! Her class was very managable and organized and she was very clear on the due date when all modules are due. She helped me gain CC credit for my university!
Professor Ashworth is a must-take professor. She's a writing test instructor, however, the tests are super easy and straightforward with multiple prompt options. Don't be scared of the political agenda there is none of that, she is open to all ideas. As well, you will learn about topics that are useful to you and not just history and dates. 100/10
BEST TEACHER EVER! Written test and participation is a must, but how can you not participate when the discussions are great! I had little to no knowledge before taking her class and my whole perspective has change thanks to her!! She is open to all discussions, and she cares that you understand what she is teaching. Communication is key!!
Fantastic professor! 100% would take again. She really dives into how government works not only as a requirement, but so that we understand how the government affects us. Tests are writing-based.
This was a great class with very engaging lectures, as well as quality conversation about the subject matter between students and the professor. Most of the tests in the class are typically essays relating to the current topic, so be ready to write. Great class overall.
She was Great however keep in mind you'll be writing essays for her course
Great class. Professor AShworth knows her stuff
Professor Ashworth is very passionate about topics discussed in class, and is very open to listen to her students all the time. I appreciate how she cares about each student understanding the topics being discussed in class. Get ready to write for your test.
Prof. Ashworth was amazing! She explains every subject detailed and carefully and has a lot of knowledge, making the class very interesting. There's a lot of writing is involved based on class discussion, so class participation matters!
Professor Ashworth was a great teacher and I definitely recommend taking her class. Her lectures are mostly in-class discussions around the topics needed for the written tests. The professor makes learning government easy; she listens to what her students need in order to understand the main topics, including resources and referencing analogies.
She holds written tests rather than multiple choice. She's a pretty chill grader when it comes to the current events and tests. She's basically just looking for critical thinking. She holds lectures about issues in today's world. She does require participation. Just seem like you're engaging in the conversation, and you'll be fine.
Professor Ashworth makes it very clear what her expectations are. Her lectures are interesting and engaging. Tests in her class are not multiple choice but in essay question format. Honestly they are not hard I personally hate writing but I found them easy. Grades are based on attendance, inquisitives, current events, and tests. Easy summer class
She is very big on participation and her tests include writing and not multiple choice. Another assignment is inquizitive which is pretty easy when you keep up. She is very lecture heavy so not much note-taking, you do have to pay attention and actually look at her she notices. Overall a great professor and pretty relaxed.
This class requires essay writing rather than test taking!
I am about to finish it as a hybrid summer class. We had to attend one day a week so attendance was mandatory and participation is good chunk of your grade. Also your tests are basically essays. There's a ton of inquizatives. It's basically busy work. She didn't push her opinions on me. You should take her if none of these things bother you.
Make sure to write down what you hear in her lectures because you're going to need those notes when writing essays. She isn't an intensely harsh grader and has provided useful feedback in structuring our essays. Overall, she is very understanding and honest when we were debating in class.
Good professor
Good class to choose
As an international student with no prior knowledge about American government system, Professor Ashworth did an amazing job setting a clear foundation. I would only advice to not wait until chapters are discussed in class to work on the inquizitives. They take up a lot of time so its better to start them off early.
Prof Ashworth is a great prof her classes are so easy to go along w/. Percentage of the class grade comes from attendance and participation in class for the whole semester, if you miss class like me cause of some problem talk to her and she will be flexible and give you extra time for assignments (not credit toward the attendance and participation)
Professor Ashworth was a good professor. She gave few assignments and graded mainly on the final paper and attendance/participation. There are no tests just some homework assignments and the final paper.
Provokes thought through discussions in class.
Great professor! Not much work, just lots of engaging in class which is what made it so interesting. Would take again.
This is my second time taking Professor Ashworth and she has by been the best professor I've had in my college career by far. Her lectures are good but what makes her class perfect is the discussion environment she fosters. At the beginning of class, we all discuss current events and have free and open discussions. This makes for an engaging time.
The class is very lecture heavy. Loves to discuss current events. Syllabus is pretty strait forward. Multiple extra credit opportunities, don't be absent. It will affect you badly in the long run. Need to purchase a textbook for Inquisitives. Only an east A if you put in the effort. Don't procrastinate, you'll regret it.
Good professor. She just gives inquisitive, current events and a research paper. Chill class. Get ready to watch the news.
This is one of the best professors I have ever had for a class. If I wasn't graduating I would take this professor again. They have helped me with matters both in and out of class and have guided me through the whole time, 10/10 would recommend!
Miss Ashworth was totally laidback. The semester consisted of lectures twice a week and our final was just a research paper. All you have to do is showup and sometimes participate in lectures. Overall, the class was not stressful like others. :)
Professor loves to lecture. 80-90% of her classes is mainly lecture. The rest of the 10-20% is discussing current events at the beginning of class everyday. I can say that her class is an easy A, but if you put in the effort you can walk out with anything higher than a B+. Multiple extra credit opportunities, better take advantage of them
the final is a research paper. some other writing may be required. the Inqisitives aren't agonizing. good sense of humor (relatable). interesting topics of conversation. laid back environment. 9/10. heavily recommend.
Professor Ashworth was such a straightforward, kind, and caring professor. She laid out her grading criteria and expectations for the class were very straightforward. all she asks is for your time and investment in the class! I felt she could relate to us students which is something i hadn't found from many other professors. I recommend!
Professor Ashworth is a good professor. The class consists of current event discussions, some inquizitives, and a research paper. Most of the class time is spent on lectures but there are in-class discussions so be prepared to talk. Not a hard grader so as long as you put effort in the class and manage your time well, it's an easy A.
She is a great professor, not hard assignments you will get good along with the class
this teacher was great, she is also supportive and flexible. I had a issue and she helped me resolve it and didnt take points off when I turned it ion late. one of the best prof. I've ever had.
Professor Ashworth was awesome. The Final was a little rough but you have all semester to work on it. I am not the best at writing essays.
This class will be a breeze if you can write essays and manage your time correctly. At least it was for me, make sure to access her outside of class because she makes things much clearer if you don't understand. Nonetheless, she was an amazing professor and I enjoyed her lectures so much.
The professor is really involved and she teaches clearly. All the assignments are online and are not difficult, they just require a little extra time.
Pretty chill professor, I learned so much and was not at all a stressful class. I loved the current events discussions we had, and I would definitely take this class again.
Great profesor take her
Good professor, seems passionate about what she teaches, has interesting lectures, and participation is graded. Inquisitive is used but you get plenty of time to finish 15 of them (due at the end of the semester). There is also an essay you work on throughout the semester that will count as your final.
Definitely Recommend!
I really enjoyed this class! Professor Miranda has a large focus on discussions over paper work. This makes the class not just less stressful than others but more entertaining and interesting. Would highly recommend her.
In GOVT 2304, the grades are broken down by 12 InQuizitives which are worth 20%. Participation which is worth 20%. A comparative analysis paper that is broken up into 4 separate grades but together worth 30%. Then a final presentation which is worth 30%. Overall, as long as you stay on top of the work and participate, you'll do just fine.
Lecture oriented based off the textbook. There are only 2 major grades, one 6 page essay and a presentation. Very fun and interesting class. most of the grades come from the inquizative as well as attendance.
10/10 Recommend! Course is lecture heavy but overall laid-back class. Only assignments included were a six-page essay, a presentation and inquisitive, which you have the whole semester to do. Attendance isn't necessarily mandatory, but you will lose participation points if you aren't there to participate.
I highly recommend Professor Ashworth. Her lectures are very interesting and the work for the class is easy as long as you keep up with it.
I definitely recommend taking Professor Ashworth, shes an amazing teacher and can be very flexible with you as long as you communicate with her. Her lectures are very interesting and makes valid arguments, she understands and values all of her students opinions, Id would gladly take her again.
Just here for the extra credit. She offers extra credit if you upload a review about her. Here it is Ms. Miranda, enjoy.
I was not looking forward to taking this class but I had a pretty good time in it thanks to this professor. Not a lot of homework. There's a few assigned documentaries and one podcast you gotta listen to but they were all pretty enjoyable. Participation is 20% of the grade so expect to be talking in this class.
Professor Ashworth is passionate about Government and it shows in her lectures. She likes to talk about current events and she doesn't mind going into a full conversation about them. She does grade you for participation so I would say try and give her head nodes and don't be afraid to just talk and give your opinions. Overall great professor!
Professor Ashworth made the class easy and straightforward. She emphasizes participation and is big on discussions. And if you hate speaking in front of people or raising your hand, she will accept clear signs that you are at least engaged and paying attention. There isn't too much HW besides a short assignment and Inquizitive every week.
Success in this lecture-heavy, engaging class requires time and effort. Attendance is crucial, as grades are partly graded on participation. Significant portions of the grade come from a research paper and a presentation, which is not ideal for those who prefer tests. Overall a good course with a passionate professor.
Great professor. Only assignments you get will be: - InQuizitive, the standard. - 1 Essay that you have like 2-3 months to complete (~1500 words) - 1 20 minute presentation That's about it. Not a difficult class. Do attend and participate, since that and the InQuizitives make up 40% of your grade (20% each). Good luck!
I was unable to attend class for the first month of class due to an unfortunate circumstance but she still allowed me to turn in late work online. You will do good as long as you show up to her class and participate. She is very chill and a great professor.
I was unable to attend class to an unfortunate family circumstance but she still allowed me to turn in late work, I was super grateful to her for that. As long as you attended class and participate you will do good in class. There is an a 6 page essay but you will have the entire semester to work on it. Overall she is very chill and a great prof.
Professor Ashworth is an engaging lecturer who values student participation. The work is manageable, and she's flexible if you communicate with her. unstuckstudy ai was a big help for study prep.
Awesome Professor! She is very clear about how grading works in the syllabus and in person. If you take her be prepared to have daily discussions about both topics that relate to the class material and current political events. Everyone's opinion matters to her and she makes sure that everyone can freely express their own opinions in the classroom.
Professor ashworth is great! Just understand she is very left winged, but still encourages differing opinions. The homework assignments (are very easy and enjoyable) only two major grades, a research paper and presentation. Very easy and interesting class that has taught me allot. Open discussion is encouraged and is also class participation grade.
Professor Ashworth does not teach for a grade, she teaches with intention to expand your knowledge surrounding politics. This course has one major paper due and one major presentation as the main grading factors. She can appropriately and objectively hold discussion's based on current events. Would take again, I learned a lot!
Professor Ashworth is definitely worth taking. Her lectures are pretty clear and participations matter a lot. There is only major assignment on the semester but she breaks down in a few steps and you have the whole semester to complete it, also inquizitives for each chapter but they are all due on the same day to the final paper.
This professor is wonderful and I would highly recommend her. Her grading is very clear and she gives feedback, be ready to complete the final exam, which is an essay worked on throughout the year. During the beginning of the semester her course was moved online due to personal reasons which did NOT affect her lectures, they were still fantastic.
take this professor if you want to have very interactive classes she's great for that and lets you express yourself
Class is based on lectures and discussions, but they are done really well allowing opportunities for everyone to contribute should they choose to. The final is a 6-8 page paper, but you work on it progressively throughout the year. As long as you meet the checkpoints for the paper and follow directions, you will be fine. Great professor overall.
easy blow off class, did not try at all. I am just here for extra credit from this review.
I loved Professor Ashworth! She is very welcoming of all of her students. She does require in class participation but as long as she can see you are engaging even just by nodding your head she will count that. She does not give tests. She just wants to see that you know the information when discussing topics in class. There is a paper as the final.
Good discussion within class. Productivity and discussion are the best part about the class. Overall consider taking this professor class.
She's a great professor there's not much work all you need to do is keep up with the reading and quizzes that are not too long and just do some essays she assigns. It's not that hard it'll seem like a lot but she gives enough time for all of it. Her lectures are great and informative. Very encouraging atmosphere to engage as well.
The professor focuses on the set of information that is prepared on their end. Will ask frequent questions over the material that is covered in class, ensuring that students have learned some form of it. Has many Inquisitive assignments that are time consuming. Will have some homework/major assignments that are not difficult to complete.
She is a great professor and her classes are great. No exams and no quizzes. All of her assignments are writing base and the "Final Exam" is an essay we've been working on over the semester. Her class is pretty easy, keep up with the inquizitives and writing assignments, which aren't hard.
Professor Ashworth is a great professor, there are no tests and the class is entirely graded from homework, participation, and writing assignments. She does a great job in class discussions and trys to leave bias aside. Take her.
Great experience with Prof. Ashworth!! Highly recommend, as she is informative if you do slip up in assignment feedback, and the work for the class isn't tough. She likes to go over recent events and connect them to her lecture which I really appreciated, because it gives you a better understanding of how, why, and what is happening around you.
Great lectures and active classroom discussions!
Great lectures and active discussions in class!
I would definitely recommend this class to anyone taking federal government! Every class was filled with discussion about the chapters we were reading outside of class. Though purchasing the textbook was not mandatory, it helped to have it. There are no tests in this class only online inquisitives and a research paper serves as the “final exam”.
Easy class. Attendance wasnt mandatory, assignments were easy, lectures straight forward, participation is required. Easy grader, laid back, just stay on top of your assignments and you'll get an easy A.
Ms. Ashworth starts her class out by asking about current events that we wanted to discuss. If she does not quite agree with you she is very polite and respectful. We had no test but we had to take 15 quizologies. We did have to write a 6-8 page paper for our final. I encourage everyone to take her class you will not regret it.
I just need that extra credit.
A wonderful professor with great lectures and class participation. Classwork consisted mostly of easy InQuizative online textbook work and the occasional movie/content to watch and answer simple questions on. Recommend you are comfortable speaking out loud to the class.
Professor Ashworth creates an atmosphere where you can feel comfortable in expressing your own opinions, which helps students ingest new information from each person helping everyone to learn from other experiences. She lectures accurately and attendance is a big part of class, make sure you get there on time. The learning experience was worth it.
Professor Ashworth creates an atmosphere where you can feel comfortable in expressing your own opinions, which helps students ingest new information from each person. Professor Ashworth accurately lectures everyone and attendance is important. The learning experience was like no other, I'd take this class again if I could.
Professor Ashworth is a great teacher! She makes the lectures interesting and she is a kind person who I very much respect. I felt that she was very good at the workload she gives us with much time. I enjoyed her teaching style and the way she approached lessons. Great professor! Highly recommend!
Professor Ashworth creates an atmosphere where you can feel comfortable enough to express you own opinions, which helps students ingest new information from other students. Professor Ashworth accurately lectures students and attendance is critical. The learning experience was like no other class, I'd take it again.
Professor ashworth creates an atmosphere where you can express your opinions. This helps each student to learn from other students, Attendance is important, and If I could take this class again, I definitely would.
This class was super fun! She is very passionate about it, so it makes it a lot easier to understand. The topics in her class get a little tense, which i loved. She is extremely caring, just communicate with her. Overall, an amazing professor!
I really enjoyed her class because there were so many things I learned about our government. Although I don't particularly like government, I had to take the class for my associate's degree. Overall, she is the best professor—so understanding and fun to talk to.
This course was not difficult, but the entire semester I heard from professor Ashworth about 1-2 times which I do not think is helpful especially when it is an all online class. She was not very helpful throughout the entire course.
Take this professor! She is the ideal professor for those who work full-time! Workload is not bad at all! There are 6 discussions which are very easy. This is a class where the pace depends on you. All assignments are due on a certain day (towards the end of the semester). DO NOT leave assignments for last minute! They are doable I promise!
If you are looking to get a easy 90+ take her, she does not care about anything and the whole unit is unlocked on the first day.
She's a great professor, offers extra credit, and makes the content organized and simple to understand. 100% recommend.
She's a great professor and offers extra credit. Assignments were clear and simple to understand. Final consisted of an essay, which we were given three prompt options to pick from. Would 100% recommend her.
I have no complaints with Mrs. Ashworth! She was amazing as her course was designed in a very understandable manner. She is easy to work with and even allows you to turn in all your work by one certain date. She also offers extra credit which was super helpful. Easy class overall, you won't regret taking her!
Mrs. Ashworth was a lovely professor! I love how her course was designed very simply and organized. She is easy to work with and allows you to turn in your assignments by a fixed date. She offers extra credit which can boost your grade. This class was manageable and straightforward.
My experience with Professor Ashworth was only positive. I took this class online in the winter and finished it all in two weeks. I was very organized when trying to find the work for the week.
I took this class over the winter mini-mester and Professor Ashworth is a kind and caring professor who does not overload you with too much work. She has all the assignments open so that you can complete them at your own pace.
I took the three week winter mini-mester in online format. The course is exactly what the syllabus says, each chapter has very similar tasks per chapter (interactive question assignment, number/graph based quiz, short answers assignment, video news quiz, and chapter quiz). This was a really comforting for me to do the same tasks each time.
She's a great professor! She offers extra credit and has the assignments very organized and simple to understand. I 100% recommend taking her!
Simple self-based class! Feedback was given immediately. Professor answers emails promptly. Overall great and informational course!
Took Prof. Ashworth's minimester over winter break! Extremely easy. Everything is due at the end of the course. I like that as I don't have to worry about due dates, but make sure to manage your time. The course is organized: 5 chapters a week, 5 assignments per chapter, consists of quizzes, videos, tests, and free response. Final exam is an essay.
Great class to take for Texas Government. Course is presented in an orderly manner with clear due dates and what needs to be done. Easy final exam
Used free trial for textbook for my mini 3 week course. Easy A in this class.
Great online class to take for Texas Government Course is presented in an orderly manner with clear due dates and everything is organized. Final exam is also very simple.
Professor Ashworth has everything laid out really nice and neat, easy to find everything and understand what you're supposed to do as she provides a label of what she recommends you get done each week! This class isn't hard at all, all you need to do is focus and just write responses, etc. Overall, would greatly recommend her for a fair class.
I have taken Professor Ashworth before and she is fantastic, her grading criteria is clear and the course is self paced with the assignments laid out. Final exam is clear and was open since start of course, she also responded to my email(s) in a timely manner for the being an online class.
Fun class!
Class was good but Just don't like her personality. That's all.
No, never again.
Take this professor!! Her syllabus was very clear and the class went by very smoothly. I took it as a minimester and there were a few assignments for each of the 14 chapters that were all due at the end of the course. There is a textbook to get and the final was not bad, definitely recommend to anyone wanting to take this course!
This was a three-week course, and it was quite easy. Professor Ashworth regularly checked in and made herself available. Due to the short duration of the class, many assignments were due each week, so get ready to work. Her assignments were helpful for the quizzes; nothing was too difficult. I would certainly enroll in this course again.
Professor Ashworth is a great professor. She's very clear about grading, for each of the chapters there's 3-4 assignments to turn in. However, it's all really simple and engaging, the final was 400 words and you get to pick your prompt. She provided all the necessary information and really set us up for success. For sure would take her again.
Professor Ashworth was great! She's very organized, so that made it easy to keep up with assignments. The course is self-paced so it never got overwhelming for a 3 week course! I would recommend her!
Professor Ashworth is great! The course is organized really well, assignments are clear, and she makes it as easy as possible to succeed. Even though this was a three week mini course it didn't feel overwhelming. Definitely take her class!
I had this professor for a minimester. She was great! I really enjoyed her class, and it was a super easy A.
Easy class, as long as you do your work and submit it on time you should be fine
Miranda Ashworth is very passionate about what she teaches. The resources she provides really help us dive deeper into the topics at hand, so we can develop a better understanding. You will learn, put in the effort and you will with no doubt make it through the class.
She is a very good professor. Easy but lots of work. You have about 25 assignments a week if you are taking the minimester. They aren't hard but some are very time consuming. Easy to fall behind if you don't stay caught up to speed.
I took this class as a 3 week min-mester. The grading criteria was very clear and easy to find in the syllabus. Instructions were easy to read and understand. The only "bad" thing was that I was unable to get in touch with her. I was given a 0% on an assignment that i had fully completed. I was unable to ask her why I received this grade.
Took as a 3 week minimester and I totally recommend!! Each week covered 5 chapters (with 5 easy assignments/chapter) total of 14 chapters. The textbook is required for inquizitive with a final essay 400 word. If you need this course definitely recommend with Prof Ashworth!!!
Take this professor. She has her assignment up and ready to go. Self paced and very clear on assignments!!!!!
Took as a 3 week minimester and I highly recommend!! Each week covered 5 chapters with 5 VERY SIMPLE assignments/chapter with open note. The textbook is required for inquizitive with a simple 400 word final essay. If you need this course definitely recommend saving the time and taking as a 3 week minimester with Prof Ashworth!!!
I didn't have a negative experience with this professor, mainly because I took it virtually and used Canvas to guide me. At first, I thought the workload would be tiring, given that there were 20 assignments- but if you just split it up during the week or dedicate 3 hours to it on one day, you'll be fine.
