I was the set rep who got kicked out in Nov. 2002. She threatened the four of us with disciplinary letters if we didn't come and apologize to her.

Organization and teaching style were great, exams were fair. A great experience being in her class.
Hilarious, take her class if you enjoy neighbour time and brownie points. "Do you understand this?" NO we don't "Ok that's good, let's move on."
if you attend all of her classes you will get a good mark. But god knows that keeping attending all of her classes are hardly possible. But don't worry Paul Rozman will help you understand all about the math subjects!
As long as you know your stuff this option is a breeze ;) .. if you don't, then get help from someone else in class!

Mirela, students are not your enemy. if they ask you a question that's because you are not clear. they want to understand what you saying. You wasted our time in Computer architecture class as well as others. we pay money to learn., Please don't waste our money. let someone who knows the stuff teach
She's willing to listen to her students and make their life a bit easier. Unlike Darcy, she repect her students and always try new things to help students understand the subject.

Excellent lab teacher, horrible in lectures.
She is a good teacher. So relaxed and calm. and she answers your questions and she makes sure u understand them. And she really knows what she is teaching .it is like she has memorized Petzold bood (1000 pages)
Mirela is a good teacher in operating systems and math. Go to her lectures! She cares and really wants us to learn the material.

I've had Mirela as an instructor when I was in COMP 1113, and also for the option courses in technical programming option. While she is not always clear with her explanations, she really cares alot about her students. She is always willing to listen to input from students. In her option courses, if you try, you will get a very good mark.
One of the better teachers I've had. She seems to genuinely care about students and has been by far the most available teacher off hours.
She's not very clear with her explanations, often progressing in leaps of two or three steps. However, she's one who is always willing to retrace whatever steps she missed if asked. Her class is fairly challenging, but not out of reach if you're open to asking questions - in some cases, a lot of them.
It was a good course, but long assignments and hard exams
Math is not my favorite subject, but this course is interesting especially the first part. Labs are very helpful.
She's a nice person and pretty easy marker. However she can be hard to understand at times and often misunderstand questions. Has a habit of skipping steps when showing examples. Be warned, she does not mark the assignments, use textbook as reference to how to answer questions for full marks.
Good course - go to lectures
I found this course challenging. Midterm was ok, but final was too long and hard. Solve all practice problems, it helped me.

Excellent course. Questions on assignments were sometimes unclear but she would clarify if questioned. She uses her own textbook, which isn't fantastic, however it was only $12 and covered the material reasonably well. There aren't many practice questions though, and the solutions are often incomplete or missing entirely.
Terrible professor! I had high hopes for the class but was thoroughly disappointed...
Need to attend lectures and labs. There are quizzed each lab. Textbook needs more practice problems.
She's not a good teacher. Good luck, even her option students complain about her. Her marks will be different for each person even if the students have the same answers.
The midterm average was on the low 60.
Challenging course

Worst Professor. Drags lectures on for no reason. Doesn't mark labs, assignments, projects, and exams on time. Never gives proper feedback and is obvious that she never looks at the project documentation. Very finicky and finds whatever random reason to give marks off even though the answers given are correct.
I may not be the best student but she is the worst teacher i have ever had in my life. She does not understand what topic she is teaching and she expects us to give her a "Good Submission" based on lousy lecture she gives. Most of this course was just me reading documents because she didnt teach us anything useful. Wasted CST diploma taking her
Run! Run! Mirela's courses are all out dated, she takes lots of your time for so many useless documentation. you won't learn anything from her. she can't explain a simple concept.
She doesn't keep up with technology. Her classes are not useful and wasting our time.
Very poor explanations throughout lectures. Her option courses content has no flow and very little practical use.
Terrible instructor, lacks teaching skills. Classes consist of three hour sessions focused on reading off the slide presentations without substantial coverage of the subject. Eight weeks have passed without any practical programming lessons, focusing instead on memorization of irrelevant details, leaving students to self-educate on the core topic.
Grading for assignments and quizzes is unclear, with random mark deductions. Identical quiz answers yield vastly different scores among students. Assignments receive low grades without feedback, and she is unable to tell you why when you ask.
lots of homework on material that we havent learnt everything requires an arbitrary amount of detail and you WILL lose SIGNIFICANT marks on EVERYTHING due to "not enough details" and refuses to elaborate its almost like she wants us to fail
Only knows how to give a huge amount of work, can not/does not teach. Blames us when the whole class fails her quizzes and tests. Did not learn a single thing from her, good luck using online resources to learn. Enjoy getting "Brownie points" during "Neighbor time" while she works on her own slides during your presentation.
It would not be an exaggeration to call her the worst professor. Every week, she brings 100 slides and walks up to the students' seating area, looking at the screen and reading for two hours. Then, she divides the students into groups, assigns them different sections of the Additionally, all assignments and study materials are stuck in 2005.
The professor uses outdated material that is at least 10 years old and reads off slides in a monotone for two hours each day. They assign a significant amount of work without properly teaching the necessary concepts and are poor at explaining the material. Additionally, their grading is inconsistent.
You might as well sleep in her class and catch up on the notes later
The professor's teaching style is outdated and ineffective. Lots of busy work without proper explanations. Thankfully, resources like Unstuck AI helped me get through this class. Not the best, but could have been worse.
