the class is very boring. the class is an hour 40, but she teaches for 2 hours. talks for the whole 2 hours in a monotone voic. spends more than an hour going over hw, and doesnt have enough time to teach the lesson. uncomfy chairs add to the suffering
she talks talks and talks. Exams are all right. lots of hw for practicing the topics. attendance is v important. if u are good in math u'l b fine. sometimes the class fels endless. Study and u'l have a good grade!
This is probably the best kind of teacher you could expect for a hard topic such as Calculus. Her approach is very methodical and easy to follow. Exams are straightforward: nothing different than what covered in class. HW is for your own practice.
excellent teacher, you NEED to do the homework, or you WILL fall behind, this professor makes calculus easy, she is great for anyone who isn't feeling super confident about taking this class
She's an okay calculus professor, but she teaches way too fast and doesn't review for any exams. I'm supposed to be very good in math, but instead I got a B grade on it. Not bad nor great either.
She is a nice professor. At beginning of each class, she would explain these question which students have difficult. And the test just like what she lectured in the class.
I had her a while ago, but she was a great prof. She was also cute.
Good professor, explains everything very well and answers students' questions. Doesn't like latecomers.
Overall, she's an ok professor, but has some flaws. Sometimes offends students asking them how they could not get the problem. "It's simple algebra!" she says. People are somewhat afraid to tell her which problems they don't get, cause she makes them feel like they're stupid.
she is a great teacher. the only way u will do well in this class is if u do all the homeworks she assign (its a lot) and ask her questions when u dont understand a problem. just take notes and do all those things, and you will be fine. dont b offended if she interigates u when u ask her a question
She is an ok professor but she intimates students. she makes them feel dumb when they ask her for help and she isnt that easy. overall she's ok but i would suggest a diff prof esp if it's ur first time taking this course.
She does give a lot of HW, but you dont have to do it, its for your own practice. Some Q's on the tests come directly from HW, some were never reviewed in the class. Study your butt off and dont miss class, otherwise you will fall behind since all concepts build upon previous ones.
I personally think that she is a great professor. She really wants you to learn and will explain 200 times if needed. She doesn't rush and goes over the previous topics. Tests are not hard at all if you are paying attention.
She has a really bad attitude I can't stand her!
WOW is she bad!! Please save yourself, dont take her.. she cant explain ANYTHING CORRECTLY.. very nasty attitude.. and she gets irritated very easily for the smallest things..
Not a nice person! Gets irritated if you ask questions and gives you her famous "Are you stupid?" look. Intimidates students and is not very helpful if you do not understand something. Otherwise is an average teacher, and her tests are fair but hard. Take her if you feel confident with the subject only!
the class is very boring!

This class was very hard. The majority dropped long before the final. People had to study their heads off. But the professor was really nice and helpful. Her tests were straight forward from assigned homeworks.
Good Professor, but not easy A
She is a good professor. Very good notes. Don't need a textbook. Exams are based on hw assignments. If you have good math skills & background, you don't need to study. Just do hw and get an A in the tests. But if you don't, please do not take it. Calculus II is not easy stuff. Well, the material is boring. I rather take Statistics.
the course is pretty hard but she is sooooo helpfull!she goes over any problems that you might have in the hw!
don't be scared or shy to ask her questions. she can answer your question right the way and don't be scared to talk to her because that shows you want to learn and pass the class. her test is not hard if you do your homework, and pay attention in class. her note is clear and she teaches easy steps to try to make you unederstand the lecture.
Helped me pass Calc! She is very clear and fair, her exams are not tricky. She prepares you very well for the final, and it winds up beign easier than class exams. She can seem a short tempered, but it's just her personality and she WILL help you pass if you put forth an effort and ask questions. TAKE HER if you have to replace an F or want to pass
Avoid! She is very condescending and will treat you like a child if you don’t understand her questions. She will pick on you if you are not taking notes. Irritates real easy.
Professor Hausman is an excellent professor. She explains the material well and is also willing to help with any misunderstandings. She answers questions when asked and responds respectfully to each any student.
an Extremely exceptional prof she is. very helpful and gives easy exams. If u know majority of HW probs Ull get A. 3 exams & Final, all containing easy and Midium difficult probs. Pay attention in class and u should be fine. BTW this class is not easy so U better study and do HW and not fall behind. once u fall behind u r gone. GOOD LUCK..guys!
she is a VERY good professor. she explains extremely clear and writes down the procedure very carefully. Goes slowly so you understand by pausing b/w steps instead of some professors that just fly by the material. Only thing I don't like is no curve and her personality. Seems uptight and if ask question =" you tell me how to do it" then answers-_-
Normal run-of-the-mill math professor. Does not require her students to do confusing problems imposed by the math department homework guide. She is, however, irritated very easily and picks on students who are not paying attention. She is a boring professor and gets offended when posed offbeat questions.
She is an awesome professor. I think calculus is one of those subjects that no matter how good the professor is, there will always be students who do poorly, and drop/fail. However, she is very clear in her explanations. She goes the extra mile to actually explain each topic in a practical fashion. Highly Recommend. Just do the work.
You will appreciate how excellent of an instructor Professor Hausman is if you had taken math with any other teacher in the past. Her lessons and sample solutions are so well organized and detailed, they make learning this somewhat difficult and unintuitive subject bearable. Her only drawback is that graphing calculators are not allowed on exams.
Calculus is a time consuming subject to take, but Professor Hausman kept our class learning in a very well paced manner. She was never too quick to go past a section, and gave us complete clarity with all thereoms and formulas. Her exams are not that difficult. Put effort in practicing the HW problems. Feels like elementary school teaching to me.
She's hard..really hard..and she's as far away as one can get from being lenient. Got mid 84 and 87 in two midterms, 91 in the other one, but a 100 in the final, which is completley cumulative. yet she gave me a B+..she explains well, but her exams will kill you. unless you are extremely smart in math, you'll devote all your time to this class.
She's not as bad as everyone make her out to be on this site. She's a really good professor, and I recommend students who are looking for a good Calculus professor to take her. The workload is heavy so you have to study and do all the homework to pass her test. If you think you can just fly by without a textbook or not studying, DON'T TAKE HER!
Very efficient professor. She explains the concepts really clearly, but makes you feel dumb if you don't understand it. She's very discouraging, but she's just no BS.It's a difficult subject, and the tests are VERY difficult. We went at a pretty fast pace, and the homeworks aren't mandatory, but you gotta do them to keep up to do well on the tests.
Great prof.she explains well.her tests are hard and she does it so you can practice and therefore the final will be easier for you.Obviously there is homework every class. With my class she started with the hard stuff as she said and we finished with matrices since they are easier.recommend her she really teaches you ALOT and she's also funny :)
She is an amazing professor and you will learn calculus but you need to put in a lot of effort. Her tests are much harder than the final because they are not multiple choice but if you study you should do fine. She seems very condescending but its only part of her charm. She is hilarious. I definitely recommend her!
Know your stuff first
She is a very helpful professor, and will definately prepare you for the final if you pay attention and do the homework that is. Though she doesn't check the homework it is a good idea to do it. Many people say she's funny, she really is! But you won't get her sense of humor until the end of the semester. Overall she's great for the final exam!
She knows what she is doing and teaches really well. The only reason why you would do bad in her class is if you don't keep up with the homework or pay attention. Do the homework, final practice questions, pay attention in class, do the webwork, and you should be fine for her exams and the final! Easy A if you put in the effort
To the comment below me, math in Baruch is hard no matter what professor you take. She is one of the full time professors and knows her stuff so it will be wise to take her...Webwork problems as required, and 4 tests in total. If you do the webwork, pass her tests, you'll do fine in the dept final. Her tests are tricky. WRITE THE FINAL ANSWER DOWN!
First off, Calculus is not easy. And yes, she can seem arrogant at first, but really, she's not. She cares for her students and will do anything in her hand to help you. Those who complaint are usually those who are always late, don't pay attention, and never do their homework. She's actually funny, and you will learn what you need for the final.
Well, I fell she is okay.not that hard, probably it's because I learned while in h.s.She gives three in class exams and one deparmental final, which I have to be honest, if you take notes, pratice the review booklet, it's not hard.Even though maybe you will feel she's not nice in terms of her altitudes, but she is really not that bad.
Her class is extremely hard. She makes her tests tough and gives everyone an attitude. DO NOT TAKE HER.
She's not that bad, if you take notes and try to follow along you should be fine. She cares if you care, I was really struggling so I emailed her and she suggested to fail the class on purpose and then retake it since I emailed her late in the semester. Even though the class may seem to go fast, she stops and reviews if you don't understand.
She could be mean and NASTY. Watch out! Very confusing!
She is one of the worst professor's alive. Yeah the course work was a bit hard but she should at least know what she is going to be teaching/lecturing about so that maybe the students can learn a bit from it instead of just webwork.
Prof Hausman is one of the best in this department. She tells you what topic to study for, before each exam, gives a LOT of webwork (hard) hw problems-you can do them and if you need help she will help or SACC. Her in class exams are a little tough, she gives partial cred, and after i took the final, i was shocked how easy the final was! Recommend
She is the worst professor very lazy .so rude !!! I am not sure who let her teach math
she is very cute prof, and she has sense of humor. i liked her classes, i felt there very comfortable) haters always hate), good luck!
She's such a tough grader. Her question are easy in class but she give you really hard question in exam. sometime she's so rude. and she don't know how to teach
I am so glad to have had Professor Hausman as my math instructor. It took a few weeks to adjust to her teaching style. (be prepared to be patient). She dedicates time at the beginning of every class for students to ask any specific questions and to review homework examples. Email her if you have any questions while studying. She is VERY helpful.
she is so confusing person. She do own mistake at white board so check out her double work her exams are harder then final and she give u easy question in class and exam are totally different. If u wan t to pass take someone else.
Read carefully. If you are a dedicated student and you generally worry about your grades, you'll be FINE. Do not listen to the bad comments from lazy people. She is beyond smart and clear. Her test are fair and gives partial credit. This is not high school guys dnt expect to be nursed around. I am average at math but I dedicate myself. Take her!!
She knows math and knows how to teach. Lecture notes are clear and helpful. Examples are directly from the book. Also gives review class before exam. HW are not mandatory, but they prepare you for the exams. BTW I watched a lot of videos from integralcal on YT and they are helpful as well.
the professor has bad attitude, can't explain things clearly. it is impossible that you can understand everything from her class, you have to devote most of time to learn by yourself. the exams will kill your GPA. avoid her !!!!
My favorite professor ever, so much that im willing to write somthing here to vouch for her. This is my second time taking her and I received a B the first time (I've been lucky to be an A student so that B hurts)however it was totally on me. She wants you to learn and even tho she doesnt curve, It was extremely evident that she wants us to learn.
Best math professor in Baruch. Lecture notes are straight from the book and explanations are involved. One problem is that she assigned a lot of homeworks but she didn't go over them in class or collect them, so prepare to study hard by yourself. 1 conic polar exam, 1 vector exam, 1 multivariable exam, and 1 final. Gives difficult problems.
I took MTH2207 her lectures are amazing explains everything. Expect Webssign due each week. She is a fair grader. She will help you and stay after class if you're having trouble. I got a 90% on the final. Her exams look exactly like the final. Take her !!! Trust Me!! She will prepare you if your willing to put it the work!! Would take her again.
Calc is hard in general. But if you do the webassign hw you or pay attention in her lectures you will get a good grade. She sometimes seems rude or has an attitude but she is willing to help if you ask for it. Overall she made calc easier to understand. She gives 3 exams which are short answer questions and the final is departmental
Prof. Haussman is the first math professor in my whole life who has not been able to make me feel confident of my knowledge. She is very impatient, not respectful, don't ask her any question. She takes topics out from the department syllabus, making the students not able to have a good grade on the final. Not clear on grading at all. DON'T TAKE HER
My math skills are really bad but after taking this class, Prof. Hausman gave me confidence. She explains everything with detail and will answer any questions that you have. Even though she may seem a bit rude at times, its because she wants to go finish lecturing before answering any questions. Take her! you will definitely understand calc better.
actually this professor was better than i expected. her lectures are clear, 3 exams 60%, one departmental final 34%, and 6% for web-assign Homework. she really knows whats going on for the final, so she prepares you well for it. you just follow what she says and practice well and you wont find too many surprises on the final. Do Not skip a class
Amazing class. Very easy to do well as long as you pay attention in class and don't slack on taking good notes. Most of the time in class is spent doing problems, so when it comes time to study, there will be a lot of material and examples to study from. Webassign is also very helpful. Her tests make the final seem extremely easy.
I wouldn't recommend her especially morning classes.
You'll do fine as long as you pay attention in class and do the homework. Professor Hausman assigns textbook homework besides the webssign homework, but she doesn't check that. It's optional, if you want more practice, go for it, and she'll go over any question you have on the homework.
Everything is straightforward in her class. If you know the material and are able to answer the textbook problems, then her exam questions will come naturally.
Like any math course, there's a lot of work you have to do in terms of practice and self-study. She was really soft-toned so I fell asleep in her class a lot, yet I still got an A because I worked for it. She's good at explaining things, responds to emails quickly, and goes over any questions you may have. She reviews before a test, which helps.
She teaches at a decent pace to ensure that everyone follows along and offers alternative ways to solve a problem. Three tests (calculator section, no calculator section) and a final. Never used the textbook, but you need to buy it to get the online WebAssign code where you do the homework. Cares for students; great professor. Slight hearing issue.
Nice prof. Hard subject, but she goes over practice problems very well, but more importantly makes sure that all class questions are answered thoroughly. A lottt of Webassign hw, but it helps so much to prepare for tests. Do the work, take a lot of notes and you'll be good.
Iif you're retaking the course, take her. If this is your first time taking calc avoid her. Those who are good in math will understand everything she says. Those of us who need explaining or take a little longer to understand math, will not find this professor helpful. I feel like I spent more time in tutoring than in her class.
She has very good notes for her students. Just pay attention in class, and do homework. Easy A
This is my first semester in baruch (transfer) and the way she presented calculus 2 was amazing. Makes the class easy to understand and interpret, even the most difficult of assignments. Highly reccomend. Her exams are hard to grasp at first (no calculator) but with practice, they are easy. Lots of webassign but wants the best for her students.
She explains her material well and gives an opportunity to ask questions regarding homework in the beginning of the class. Tests are easy as long as you do work in class. Online homework was worth a very small percent of the grade, so did not really matter.
Professor Hausman is the best professor you could take to pass and get a good grade in Calc 2207. You will have Webassign homework but You won't need the book because she goes slow and explains every single detail. Since her first lecturer, she will start preparing you for the final test. She teaches you how to use the calculator very well.
Professor Hausman gave great lectures- she's very clear, organized and even taught methods that weren't in the book. She provided great review materials and even offered extra review classes. Because the semester was jam-packed, our final was on the easier side. Glad I took her class.
Hausman clearly goes through the problems in the simplistic terms. She makes it so easy to understand calculus, even for a student that had not touched calculus before. She responds to emails quickly and her 3 exams aren't even hard. Just use the textbook if you need any further clarification and the problems assigned and you will do great.
Professor Hausman is honestly one of the BEST math professors in Baruch. She explains in details and makes sure you understand everything. 3030 is an intensive class, but just pay attention to her lectures and you'll do great!
The course is very dense but she's a decent professor in teaching the material. Stay on top of class with online hw and the review problems and you should be fine. You do need to put time into the class. It's not an easy A, but I think that's the nature of the course and not her.
Compared to my last Calculus teacher she is 10x better. She doesn't just assume that you know everything like my other teacher did. And it is for sure a hard topic but if you really try to do the Cengage hw and review past test questions before a test you will pass. She emails u a list of what's going to be on the test and reviews the class before
Honestly, she's not that bad of a professor. The course material is just very hard, and she tries to teach it the best way she can. If you want to do good, definitely go to all the classes and do all the homeworks, it will help. She gives only 3 exams but they are way harder than the final. So if you do good on those exams, the final will be light.
I found it surprising that she has such high ratings. I personally could not stand her instruction and think she completely missed the mark in teaching the class. While I will admit she's a nice lady, she's not a great instructor and fails to adequately explain material in a coherent fashion. Plus, her exams are extremely long.
My 3rd attempt at passing calc and finally did with her. She was very helpful when I missed classes due to an unexpected death in the family. Her tests were difficult, but I've seen way worse. If you need to retake calc, take her, she is way better then other professors.
Class is pretty boring. But it's calc, so no surprise. Home works are annoying, hard, and take a long time (up to 3 hours). However, she is flexible with homework due dates and allocates the beginning of class for homework questions. Tests arent hard or tricky, you just have to know the material. Answers questions if ppl don't get the material.
This professor presents easy material and examples in class but gives unreasonable assignment and exam questions. This would be okay if she was a reasonable grader. However, she is a very harsh grader.
She's a very good lecture driven professor. I took her calculus class and everything is straight forward. Lectures are pretty boring sometimes but that's math. Flexible to meet for office hours. We had a textbook but didn't use it. Do your web assign hw and pay attention and you should be good. Tests and quizzes are usually easier than hw.
I realized that it would've been a better idea to focus more heavily on what she emphasized during the exam review session although it is responsible to make sure that I worked on the class material. The Cengage homework is way more difficult and is unnecessarily complicated.
Avoid taking this class with this professor. Professor Hausman expects us to know a lot of the concepts going into the class. She is a tough grader. She takes off points for every little thing. Also, she assigns most of the homework assignments on WebAssign, which costs money. Do yourself a favor and get a better professor if possible.
Really tough grader gets tight over little mistakes on exams. No curvings. Lots of HARD online Webassign hwk. Webassign is soo wack. Their video explanations are really hard. She's sweet but sometimes gets tight if you ask too many questions. Wants Webcam on in exams and quizzes. I had to take her because I had no other options. BE PREPARED!!!!! ;(
Ive never failed a class in my life and im currently failing. No leniency, hard web assign homework. Feel like sometimes the homework doesnt help with the exams. Cameras need to be on during exams too. Professor gets annoyed. I think its too hard and too much especially if you didnt know much about calculus before taking the class.
Its a tough class there is a lot of material to learn. She really does try to teach you all the concepts as clear as possible. HW was a lot but does extend if you ask. She is a tough grader but she said if you do well in final she won't weigh your low test grades as much. She wants to see that you learned so study for the final!
Prof. Hausman's classes are WONDERFUL! She helps her students recall prior knowledge and skills, then motivates them to see why they should want to know more. Her explanations sparkle with crystal clarity and light up the faces of her students with understanding and satisfaction.
If you need to take calculus, take her! I took the class before with a different professor and failed, I took it with her and I was able to pass. She has the class's best interest in mind, she is very transparent and accessible. The class in itself is hard but she made it more enjoyable than most. Take her you won't regret it she's amazing.
She is a really good professor. Calc 3 is never easy but she explains things in easier ways than the textbook. Also, she is always available and helpful when you bring any questions to her. Even though it is a day off for her, she also held a Sunday review session before each exam which is tremendously helpful because it is a lot of material.
A lot of students drop from the class this semester, however, for the students who stayed, I believe they can all testify how caring and understanding she is as a professor. You can talk to her casually outside of the class. She also makes sure that everyone is keeping up with what she is teaching and is really patient if we don't.
Professor Hausman is a good professor. She made learning online easier than most professors do. Lectures are a bit fast paced and you should really take notes during the lectures because that is how you'll learn it. This was my third semester of calculus and I enjoyed the subject matter a lot. Work hard, learn the material do the you'll be fine.
Professor Hausman was a wonderful instructor. After completing Math 3020, I feel like I have a strong working understanding of the fundamentals of multivariate calculus. She was always available to go over questions and provided clarifications ahead of exams.
Excellent professor, always ready for the class and always available to clarify questions. Very flexible if she see you are trying hard to do well. Would love to take her for more courses.
Her pace in her lectures gives a lot of room for questions. She will assume that everyone understands or remembers the basics of Calc 1, but is very patient if you have forgotten some parts. Participation made my experience much better than usual; I recommend participating! Her exams are similar to her quizzes, review sessions, and homework!
Hausman is a good professor. She answers questions and her lectures are informative. She will randomly call on people, and if you do not answer, you will get marked absent. Her exams are hard and the two tests and one final are collectively worth 80% of total course grade. She will review material if you are confused and make sure you learn it.
Shes a good teacher who knows her material very well. Sometimes its hard to tell her if you don't know something because she can get irritated. The reviews she has sometimes don't relate to the quiz. Other than that, shes a great lady outside the lectures and responds to emails quite fast
The professor gave good lectures. The review questions were not helpful for exams. She went over review questions on her own time which was nice, but the review questions were overwhelming (40+ questions) and not all topics were on the exam. Get ready to be surprised with the questions she creates for exams.
Exams were harder than what was covered in class. She gets irritated easily if you ask her any questions or don't understand.
She's quite possibly the worst math professor in the department. Like the other reviews say, she gets easily agitated when students ask questions or don't understand the material. She's also strict when it comes to grading, making exams much harder than the review questions. Save yourself the trouble and choose a different professor if you can.
She cold-calls on people during online lectures and gets agitated very easily. Handwriting is messy, review questions are just questions from the textbook that barely have anything to do with the actual exam. I strongly recommend taking another professor if available.
Hausman is a great professor - her lectures are informative, and she's always available to clarify questions. The exams are challenging, but she'll review material if you're confused. Unstuck study was super helpful for studying.
I had to drop her and I love math. She's not awful but she's old and not tech savy which complicated my learning in an online class. She writes all her own tests and her handwriting is messy. The assignments and test prep is nothing like the actual quiz/test so you need to learn on your own. Very passive aggressive when people don't understand.
Very inconsiderate when it comes to no school days(especially for religion reasons) just because she claims to be missing class in the future. Homework assignments are lengthy, and sometimes, the material covered isn't close to what is on the homework. NO curves on exams. Messy handwriting. Gets annoyed when people don't understand the material.
HW 15% Midterm 35% Final 50%. Final was hardest exam I've ever taken, ungodly amount of effort needed. However she puts all her notes in a drive and goes exactly by them. Very helpful if you need help understanding something. She also gives practice problems that might be on the exam.
Gets annoyed with too many questions. A TON of review material; not everything is relevant. Tests are handwritten and illegible. Final was really, really difficult. We did not finish the course content in time. Also, literally 150+ homework problems over spring break. She's decent at lecturing though.
Not it! She's very picky in the sense that you can get the right answer but not done in the way she's taught it. Does show occasional favoritism towards certain students. Misses certain classes due her appointments yet appoint a make-up class which is really frustrating as for most of us it interferes with our day to day lives.
I've had her other calculus classes, and this one is for sure the hardest. I also think she struggles teaching the material because it requires a lot of mental visualization. She is a good teacher though, but the class itself requires a lot of practicing to understand the integrals. Her exams will be harder than any hws but lots of partial credit.
Often goes over the time limit by up to 30 mins, will take points off if you get the correct answer on exams but not through her methods. Will reschedule classes to weekends in middle of the day or as late as 7-9pm because she has to miss regularly scheduled days due to other obligations. She also would not let students take make up quizzes.
Calc II is a hard class, but Hausman makes it fair. She answers questions throughout the lecture and even offers small extra credit opportunities on exams. The best way to learn is to stay engaged and participate during lectures. She also hosts review sessions before exams, which are more helpful than homework.
