mostly lecture, teaches out of book but also uses anecdotes. very nice&easy!
NICE, good teacher, very helpful, interesting class
nice lady, hard tests

intro to CJ class is a guaranteed A, don't even buy the book, just go to class
Intro to CJ was a breeze and she presented info in an understandable way. Great.
Love her... Nicest teacher evr, easy class, and very informative
shes got more life stories than mother theresa. not bad, try not to take the three hour class, it'll put you to sleep
great teacher..one of the few classes i haven't minded going to...quiz's and and 2 non-cumulative tests
Easy class, lots of material but she made it easy... A few quizes and two tests. Easy grader on essay and short answer.
Very intelligent teacher if you really listen. Pretty easy class but extremely boring. If the class is late at night you will fall asleep but the work is pretty easy. Don't really have to do the reading.
Intro to Cj.. Loooves to hear herself talk, she could be an actress.. strange way of lecturing, dont take at night, randomly calls on people, easy quizes, sign in attendence. okay class
Excellent teacher: clear and interesting, illustrates the class with scary serial murders stories and easy tests if you learn (only) your class notes.
very clear and very nice lady, knows what she is talking about and is not boring, easy quizzes and tests are not bad if you study, take her
i want her to bear my children!
Great teacher, very clear and illustrates material with real life examples. Takes attendance, but I never mind going.
tests are not that hard but there is a 15 page paper and group presentation. she doesn't let you pick your own group. at the last minute, i had to do the whole paper by myself so my grade suffered drastically.
easy just very boring, 5 quizes 2 test....don't need the book just go and pay attention in class
Great Teacher! 5 Quizzes and 2 Tests. Gives study guide with infor on test. Study notes. Easy A!
Loved her! Very clear as to what is expected. She always keeps the lectures interestingand informative. You can miss up to 20% of the classes without it effecting your grade. I would take her over and over again if I could
Competent teaching, interactive class, and she couldn't be more clear on what you're tested on. 3 tests, she gives you the questions the week beforehand and lets you use two index cards. can you beat that? no paper, yes attendance policy.
Fairly easy class, but teaching is not very good. Takes her forever to make a point and get through any single topic. Looks EXACTLY like Marcy from the Peanuts gang. Quizzes are annoying and have some stupid questions about stuff she hardly went over, but tests aren't bad with study guide.
she is the best teacher i have ever had. because of her i know what to do with my life. i am actually excited to go to class and look forward to taking her tests.
Really great class, easy tests and interesting material. you have to go to class to get the information for the tests but you'll want to go, easy A.
She is one of the best teachers in the criminal justice department. Class was really interesting and I want to go to class each day. Tests consist of two essay questions which she gives to you a week before the exam and allows you to use two note cards on test. I would recommend Dr. Sealock to every
I always fall asleep. So she's alittle boring. She talks with her hands alot. But pay attention to definitions of the key terms in each chapter. Read before you come to class if you want an A. My first quiz I got a 22/25, and barely studied.
Explains what will be tested. Showing up earns you points. Easy.
Exam content very clear. Little to no material from book. Come to class a pay attention for an A+. A little boring sometimes.
Great teacher! If you come to class, pay attention and study, then you will get an A. This was my third class with her and I got an A in all three.
This has been my favorite college course so far. Not just because I did well, but because she made the class so very interesting. If you take the class seriously at all, you will get an A. If you blow it off, you won't. Ask my friends. Dr. Sealock makes it seem easy, so you may be tempted to skip. Don't do it! Besides, she's very nice to look at.
not an easy A...make sure u study. 2 exams and 5 quizzes...hard. easy to skip but most material isnt out of the book!
u go 2 class and ur going to do well w hardly any studying. She has lots of extra hours 2 help u if needed, but you won't if u go 2 class. Really great teacher, I might change my major if there are more I can take w her.
If you love Criminal Justice, you'll do fine. But if its not your major I'd say avoid taking it with her, a bit dull. Quizzes are hard! She loves comparison charts, yet doesn't write all the info on the board that she asks for on the quiz, so you HAVE to pay attention to what she says. Also, barely any material from book, waste of $.
prof sealock is okay. she has quizes midterm and final. reads from power pt but likes class discussion. online crime chat thing. you should post on for particpation grade. sometimes i think her quizes/ test are challenging even if i study. no book readings but some info could be on tests/quizes. overall a good class
Best CJ teacher at Towson. This is the third class I had with her and would take more if she taught some. Gives study guides which cover everything on the tests. Likes discussion and attendance. Very personable and meets with students to go over research design papers. Highly recommended
She is very nice and the information she tsught was useful.
Lectures are very boring, but tests and quizzes are pretty easy. Attendance isn't mandatory but you miss a lot when you don't go because a lot of the stuff on the quizzes is stuff she covered in class, not from the book. Stutters a lot, which can be very irritating, but she's really nice and I would recommend her.
I took her policing class and while some of her quizzes were overly detailed, the class overall wasn't that bad. Make sure you pay attention, even though lectures can be very dry. I did enjoy this class; you can tell she is passionate about what she teaches! If she doesn't have an answer for you she will research until she finds it!
She is extremely helpful and very clear about the material. The tests are extremely easy, but of course you have to study. There is no reason anyone shouldn't get an A in the class since she gives a study guide for exams and everything is you need to study is stated.
Dry, boring lectures. Just copy what she has posted on the power points. Gives study guides a week prior to the exam, study that and you'll do fine. Attendance is not mandatory. Overall, good professor.
Grade based on 4 quizzes, but she drops the lowest grade. You also have to participate in an online discussion board, where you make 30 posts for 30 points of your grade. You also get lots of extra credit opportunity. She also gives the lecture notes. Very easy class, but can be boring at time. She's a very nice woman outside of class too. Take Her
She is so boring and you can barely hear her when she speaks. This becomes a problem since there are 130 people in my class. Her grading is ridiculously hard and don't take her tests lightly. STUDY/BUY THE BOOK. I was really interested in CRMJ so I took the class now I'm scared to take another one because of her.
Seriously you would have to be an idiot to not do well in this class. She gives lecture notes before class and study guides before the exams to help you study. She makes herself available to meet with you to talk about your exams which I found very helpful. Highly recommend!
One of the nicest professors at Towson. You do have to put in some effort and pay attention but if you do that you'll do great! Took it for a gen ed but really learned a lot.
Really interesting class. A must for anyone going into law enforcement or just interested in law enforcement. Exams are very fair and she drops the lowest grade. There's a paper, but it was fun to do and you actually learn something from it!
Interesting class, really good prof.
I really enjoyed the class. The exams can be challenging and you do have to do the reading so you can't be lazy! There were a lot of opportunities to earn extra credit points.
You'd have a hard time finding a more fair and nice professor. A midterm and a final worth 100 points each, a 100 point 10 page paper, 3 20 minutes computer assignments worth 100 points total, and a 50 point participation/attendance grade. You have to give some effort, but the material is not difficult. Also gives note outlines and study guides.
Awsome class, professor Sealock definitely knows whats she is talking about. As long as you show up to class (she checks attendence) and take good notes i see a A in your future. Lecture actually kept me interested and even though tests are about 60% essay, she gives you the essay questions before hand to study. If your considering, take her.
Great class and great professor. Lectures were interesting and she was very clear about her expectations. She was very accessible outside of class.
Class consists of 4 tests, which the lowest grade of the 4 is dropped; 1 easy law enforcement officer interview paper that you have all semester to do; and participation. She also gives you the note outlines to study from. Easy class, and a great professor. I've taken every class she teaches, and she will go out of her way for you. A must take!
Loved her and loved this class! I actually looked forward to going. Dr. Sealock was really helpful and seemed very interested in everyone doing well. Gave lots of extra credit opportunities.
shes cool
She is fantastic! I learned a lot and she grades easy. Gives you slides on b.b. and let's you use page of notes on tests! So nice and if you come in late she marks you present anyways. Clearly defined guidelines and drops lowest essay and test grade! Not a lot of hw. Take this course with her! Great teacher and very knowledgeable on subject! Great!
Such a nice teacher. She lets you bring two pages of notes to the exam. Willing to proof read before you turn things in, which allows you to receive a better grade. BB slides are more relevant to the tests than book or lecture. Only allowed to miss 3 classes
Took her class online over the minimester and it was a piece of cake. There's some work involved but it's college, get over it. She's very helpful and it's an easy A. I would definitely recommend her!
Took this for a gen ed, but liked it so much I switched majors!
Super easy tests - get to use a page of notes and there's a study guide! only two outside assignments.
Absolutely love her! Her class is so easy. You can use a sheet of notes for the exams and she gives you a study guide before the exam as well. Definitely would recommend Professor Sealock!
Such an easy class. She is very clear and specific in class. The material isn't difficult at all. Takes her time going over everything. Allows a page of notes for the test and always provides a study guide. Very easy class and very nice, friendly teacher. Take her
very friendly and relaxed; teaches directly from power point and part of the exam is take home. TAKE HER!
Professor Sealock is an amazing teacher!! I would totally take her again for another class. Her tests are easy and lectures are clear. She gives 2 papers to do at the end of the semester and you turn them in online after finals. Her lectures are long but you will def learn a lot from them. Tests are open notes and essays are take home!
Sealock is great! Really enthusiastic about the subject. 4 tests, drops lowest grade, take home essays with each test. Allowed a 2sided sheet of notes each test (including final). One large essay at end of the semester that is kind of tough. Posts slides from class but need to attend to fill in the blanks of what she doesn't provide. Need textbook.
4 exams-lowest one is dropped. 1 paper due at the end of the semester. As for the class, super interesting. Its been my favorite this semester. Dr. Sealock is very passionate about what she teaches, so she expects you to attend the lectures and participate. I personally did not use the book. Puts up ppts on BB. Take good notes for the test. Easy A
This class was amazing, Prof. Sealock made me want to minor in crimj. There's 3 exams, there's an easy take home essay and she lets you bring in 2 pages of notes. She gives you a clear study guide and her lectures are so clear that there's no way you'd do badly on tests. Lectures can be dry but for a 3 hour night class I was not disappointed!
Dr. Sealock was a really great professor. Her lectures were great, even for an online course. Class grade consists of: class participation, three, open-note exams and one policy essay. Pretty easy grader as long as you do the work. Gives essay questions ahead of time for exams so you can type them ahead of time because the exams are timed.
This was my favorite class this semester! Dr. Sealock's lectures are so interesting; she makes sure to explain the material but also ties it to real world situations which was great. 3 tests, extra credit on all of them. One 4-5 page paper on a topic you choose out of 6 prompts. Discussion board posts. Dr. Sealock is always there to help you out!
Dr. Sealock was a great professor. Her exams are open notes and you have to write a 4-5 page paper. Extra credit is also a major part of the class.
As long as you come to class and read her slides which she posts online you will pass. I got the textbook and used it when studying for tests but her slides are the exact same. She is accessible outside of class which was helpful. As long as you don't fall behind you can get an A pretty easily. Good luck!
Really interesting course, definitely my favorite this semester. The grading criteria were straightforward and Dr. Sealock was very helpful outside of class. You do miss a lot if you don't attend class.
I took this class during the winter. Professor Sealock was very accessible and prompt answering emails. The tests were open book and note with opportunities to earn extra credit. I enjoyed all the material and I wish Professor Sealock taught more classes. The material is very interesting. Great winter course.
She is a great professor! Go to lectures, take good notes, and you will do fine. 3 tests (you get to bring a note sheet), one essay, and the online discussion board is all she grades you on. A lot of extra credit on the exams, but it is necessary to be in class to know what the extra credit is about (specific cases, etc).
She doesn't post the powerpoints on bb so you must come to class also for the reflection questions she gives randomly. But, it is a super easy A the test was so easy and you can use a cheat sheet. Three tests and one paper and they weren't that difficult. The only downside is the lectures are very boring.
A monotone voice which makes the class really boring, however the class is very easy. You are able to have cheat sheet, there are no homework, no quizzes, and the final is not cumulative. Do discussion board and come to class to receive participation points every once in awhile and you will pass.
Really interesting class. You will do well if you come to class, and take decent notes. Class discussions got me thinking about different issues I'd never thought about.
Ms. Sealock is really nice and she responds to emails very quickly. There were 3 exams, each we were given a study guide. Exams had a multiple choice section, short answer, and take home essay. Theres also one paper but its not due to the end of the semester
Took this class as a freshman without being a criminal justice major, however, it was easy and interesting, the only fault in this course was the professor's inability to upload grades!
I took this course for a major requirement. Professor explains things really well and we had a lot of in class exercises that helped me a lot.
Prof Sealock is a great professor. I loved going to her lectures, she always had funny anecdotes and good examples. There were 3 exams and 1 paper as well as some pop quizzes for attendance. She gives out great study guides that explain exactly what is on the exam, and is always ready to explain concepts that I didn't understand. Take her class!!
Dr. Sealock is extremely passionate about her field and it shows.. However, her tests are the furthest things from easy and there are 4 required essays and 3 tests in this class. She allows a front and back cheat sheet however, but they are very specific. Attendance is required as she has mandatory reflection questions frequently you hand in
she is so sweet and really cares about the class and if you learn the material. definitely take her for criminal justice
Loved her class. I appreciated that she was super understanding about the transition due to COVID-19. She did not overwhelm us with work and the assignments were easy. The exams were not too bad and they were open-note. There was one final paper.
I 100% recommend this professor! She was amazing during the pandemic and was very understanding with the class, making both a large paper assignment and the final exam optional. Course information is very interesting and it is clear she wants her students to succeed!
In order to pass you must sit through long pre-recorded lectures-- But they are a great help when it comes to exams. You must complete discussion questions and reflection questions which are posted along with each lecture. There are 3 exams in total, the study guides are really helpful and she allows you to write your essays ahead of the exam.
Interesting subject matter. She really cares about student success and was easily accessible outside of class meetings to answer questions. Workload was manageable.
Best professor I have had so far at Towson. She is very caring and understanding of her students. She is great at responding to emails and being accessible. She really does care about her students passing and goes out of her way to make sure they are able to understand the material and pass. She made online classes still enjoyable and interesting.
Good Prof. doesnt really have a lot of participation opportunities. Pre-lecture videos that are helpful for exams. Could use lecture time to ask students what theyve learned from the videos. Rather than lecturing about the videos again during class time, as it would be effective and knowledgeable. If you do the work youll pass for sure, EASY A
Love her so much. She is very chatty and talks a lot but she tries to engage with students. She follows everything by the syllabus and it is very clear and straightforward. Test are very passable.
Professor Sealock is honestly such a good professor. This is overall such an easy class and an interesting one too but she finds a way to make it more interesting. Her lectures are long but its fine because the subject matter itself is interesting. She wants you to do well. Make sure you watch the videos and the tests themselves are common sense.
Professor Sealock was very accessible outside of class and truly wants to see you succeed. She is very nice and will gladly explain anything you do not understand. I had her for methods and I will say the lectures are pretty boring only because the content is very confusing and hard to understand so not seeing real life examples of things is tough.
This class was very straight forward and Prof Sealock was accessible when need be. You do have to watch the lectures to be able to pass the exams but the lectures are very interesting. Overall its an easy A as long as you do everything on your part to pass.
Took this course over the summer as an elective and it was a very enjoyable class. This professor knows her stuff and she is great at what she does. Course load included an optional extra credit syllabus quiz, optional essay, 5 discussion posts, and 3 exams. Just watch the lecture videos, take good notes, and you'll do well.
She is a great teacher. She gives lectures every class but they are very interesting and informative. She lets you use outside resources like notes and the slides she provides during tests. My class was very big so attendance was not mandatory. Very easy and enjoyable class.
She's the best! Her class is very interesting and she's very well educated on the subject. She shows no bias what so ever, she gives us the content, and allows us to express our opinions. Take this class! Its easy if you do what you're supposed to and she allows extra credit!!!
Excellent professor, lectures can be boring at times depending on the topic but find a way to make it not boring. textbooks are optional, exams open books and open notes, make sure you participate during lectures, classwork and homework are graded not for accuracy but for the attempt you make or effort you put in to answer the question.
Dr. Sealock is an amazing lecturer. I can sit through hours and hours of her lectures and be able to comprehend the Criminal Justice System. She explains things clearly, thoroughly, and has many stories to contribute to the classroom. I would absolutely take her again.
Professor Sealock is an amazing professor. The class is fairly simply as long as you stay on top of all your assignments. Attendance is not mandatory but I recommend attending class as her lectures are important for exams. Exams are long with many questions and an essay is required for all three of them but the answers are usually on the slides.
Professor Sealock was super nice and caring about her students! Attendance is not mandatory but some class participation exercises (once every two weeks-ish) are completed in person. Other than that, the grading is broken into two exams, one final paper, and class participation assignments.
She was a good professor, definitely knew her stuff. She wants the class to participate and add their own opinions on topics. Barley had homework just did a few discussion boards, all exams and finals are online. And make sure to stay on top of on in-class exercises cuz they come up on you.
I really enjoyed this class. The subject matter was so interesting and Dr. Sealock had a lot of examples and activities to keep us engaged. I was taking this for a core requirement but am thinking about a criminal justice major now.
took this class as an elective, and i enjoyed it. professor sealock is so sweet! the lectures can get a little lengthy, but she's so passionate about what she does and makes the class interesting
This is my second time taking Prof. Sealock, and it was very similar to the first; simple, straightforward, and all-around fun. She's incredibly clear about her standards and the work we do, and she provides all the content in an interactive but focused manner. She's a wonderful professor outside of class too, always very available and supportive.
Professor Sealock is very flexible and offers plenty of extra credit opportunities throughout the semester. The textbook is not mandatory, but it can provide additional information and study tools. Exams are open-note, and she provides a study sheet to help with preparation. She also assigns weekly surveys that take just a few minutes to complete.
She is great! Lectures are long and may get boring but will get credit for going with in class participation a couple times during the semester. Exams are online and often have 4 days or more to do them. Super nice and understanding if you have something elsewhere.
She is a good prof. and knowledgeable. She posts her notes online, there were 5 quizzes which were all online, there were a few small assignments which were very easy mostly opinion based, and there is a paper where you need to interview a law enforcement officer. Not a hard class whatsoever and very doable, lectures can be boring but its not bad.
Professor Sealock's class is engaging and manageable. The lectures are packed with insights, and Unstuck ai complemented my study routine. With the right prep, this class is an easy A.
She is very knowledgeable & her class is set up lovely. I took this as a senior for an elective & it was both interesting and low effort. There are 3 online exams and short surveys/discussion boards spread across the semester. Your grade is based on the exams and just completion of these short assignments. Loved her and the class content!
I took the first summer course of this class, super easy 5 discussion boards (at your own pace) and 3 exams that were incredibly easy because all the answers were in her lecture videos. Super nice and well organized professor. (she opened most exams early and gives about a 5 day window to complete them). Highly recommend taking her course
one of the kindest and caring professors i've ever had. truly cares about your success and makes the class manageable and clear.
I absolutely loved Dr.Sealock. The class is incredibly easy as long as you take good notes, every exam is open-book and open-note, and there are COUNTLESS opportunities for extra credit. The only bad thing is that her classes are very lecture-heavy and she has a calming voice, so I would find myself dozing off in class often.
Amazing ! She is really fun to listen to and gives you ample opportunities to improve your grade.
Not a CRMJ major so I wasn't too fond of this course. Thought it would be fun to take as a psych major but I found myself not really paying attention. The class is super easy though. I just thought lectures were boring, and many people came in late/skipped class. Others used their devices to play games and watch videos instead of taking notes.
Loved this class! Content was really interesting and I really liked all of the class participation activities throughout the semester. I took this as an elective but it ended up being my favorite class of the semester by far.
