A great prof. I've learned so much. Her multiple choice questions are not easy but she is more relaxed when grading papers.
great person! cares about her students and is interested in the material. however she says to "focus mainly on what is said in class and the powerpoints and to focus on the readings last, as they are meant to enhance your knowledge" and thats not true. her tests were 99% on little details from the readings and not from the slides. very disappointed
Great prof. HELPS STUDENTS PASS. I did not do a single mandatory reading and got an A. Tests are mainly on the powerpoint yes, readings are required but she gives enough bonus marks to make up for the questions you get wrong because you didn't get a chance to read. 1 paper, 1 quiz, a midterm and a final all non cumulative.
Her slides are excellent, but then the midterm happened. She told us to make slides our priority for studying, but then 90% of the questions on the exam were focused on the readings, and every question was a trick question/ unclear. I was very upset and left a bad taste in my mouth for the rest of the term. She's a nice person, but horrible exams.
A very knowledgeable prof, very, very approachable, answers emails, v friendly. A difficult midterm but the rest was okay. Not true that 90% questions were from readings. I didn't read any and I did well on the exams, there are bonus questions. Really wants students to do well. She listens to complaints and makes students do well.
A geat prof. Assigns a lot of readings but she explains them in her lectures. If you have good notes from her lectures, you will 100% do great. I only skimmed through the readings but my notes were enough to do well. Pay attention to what she says in class even if it's not on slides and you will do well.
Mirjana is an AMAZING PROF! She is so passionate about ANTHRO 230 and her grading is clear. If you show up, do the work, you're basically guaranteed a good mark. On her tests she gives a lot of bonus marks. One midterm, 2 assignments and a final paper - with lots of options. Highly recommended, its an easy and interesting class.
She was fantastic, easily one of my favourite profs. She was always available via email and gave great feedback quickly. She was extremely organized and funny in an awkward way lol. Mainly lecture based which I liked and the attendance system was great and she even made changes to it mid semester to accommodate us. Very kind and attentive.
She is a really great and caring professor. She is very understanding and the assignments are more than fair. You have participation grades but you can simply hand in a piece of paper at the end if you are afraid of speaking in class. Overall, great professor!
Very understanding and flexible! Midterm was a little tough, but other assignments were very clear, making it easier to do well on them. Gives a lot of opportunities for participation, helps a lot with the grade booster. Don't necessarily have to read the assigned pages, as long as you know how to apply the lectures to your assignments.
Mirjana can give some pretty dry lectures but as long as you take decent notes you'll be fine. I didn't do any of the readings and finished with an A+ so definitely not necessary. After the midterm you don't need to know a lot of details so just pick up on the main themes in class (which isn't hard because they're emphasized all the time).
I think Dr. Uzelac is a great professor. Although she might seem severe at first, she really does care about her students and wants them to do well. It is very clear what she expects on assignments and exams. The only thing is that some of the readings were quite long, and she does mark on participation (speaking in class or submitting comments).
Professor Mirjana is an excellent professor who is very knowledgeable on the various topics covered in class. This was an exceptionally interesting class for me because it looked at science and technology through an art lens. Expectations for assignments and midterms were clear and to the point and grading was fair.
I really liked how she formatted the class with the first half of the semester being her lectures and the other half presentations from students about various readings and chapters from the textbook. She is clear in her expectations for assignments and the midterm so there is no confusion. She is also very caring and genuinely wants you to succeed.
Mirjana is a fantastic instructor. She's really funny and explains concepts in class well. I enjoyed her anecdotes.
Great prof! One of the most interesting classes I've taken in undergrad and class discussions were fun. During the switch to online classes because of covid, she really went above and beyond to make sure we were getting our money's worth and also showed us that she genuinely cared about our well-being and success.
Mirjana is an amazing prof. She handled covid changes and remote delivery like a champ. She truly cares about her students. The course itself is a little dry: theories and history, but she made it all understandable and easy to follow. Would take her courses again anytime.
She really cares about her students. We switched to online mid-semester because the university closed for classroom lectures. She kept us updated and always answered emails promptly.
Mirjana is great, one of the most caring profs I've ever had. It is an easy A class if you participate and pay attention.
Mirjana is an absolute gem. Her lectures were fascinating and she handled COVID like a champ. Her grading criteria was clear and she was always available if you needed feedback. Honestly, one of the best classes I've taken in my 4 years at U of A. Readings are a lot but that's just part of the class. Nothing that should stray you away.
This was a super easy class, only a midterm, 2 papers and a final that were all very easy. Class attendance is only mandatory for participation grades (for the seminars especially) but all the notes are posted online. The textbooks were only needed a bit so they are not really necessary. Dr Uzelac was a good lecturer.
This was really easy to do well in. Assignments are clear & don't have a strict grading criteria, so you can write in whatever way makes sense to you and get good marks. I only did the first reading, listened to some lectures, then later only skimmed slides and had no issues. Just make sure you don't fall behind (but email her if you do!).
An easy class and interesting. She used recent examples of racism, which was helpful. You didn't even need to use your textbook to do well but make sure to go through her lectures. Cares about students and wants them to do well.
I enjoyed the content of this class and Professor Uzelac was very kind and really wanted her students to succeed. I did, however, find myself bored during the lectures. They were long and essentially she was reading off her slides which were posted online. Attendance was taken and is required for the participation portion of your grade, so show up!
Mirjana is an amazing prof. She is so passionate about the things she says and she's a very good lecturer. One midterm, one final, and you have to participate 20 times in class. Loved this class. Loved Mirjana. Highly recommend.
Prof. Uzelac encourages discussions and student input. I appreciated this. Not a difficult class, loved forum discussions.
I have not wrote any exams or anything yet, but she really needs to work on her public speaking. She is probably very knowledgeable but it makes her look unprepared when she can't finish a sentence without saying "uhhh" and then you have to sit there and wait for 10 seconds for her to make a point that you can read in 2 seconds on her powerpoint.
Honestly the most caring professor I've ever had. She gives many opportunities for extra credit, and you can tell she really want to see you exceed. Although my class with her was asynchronous, she was incredibly organized.
She made this class extremely enjoyable and not dry considering there was a lot of theory at the beginning. Very fair marker of exams and just wanted you to put effort into them to show your understanding. Highly recommend her and this class!
English is not her first language but she explains concepts very clearly. Shes a very caring and organized prof considering being online. Gives students many opportunities to boost their grade. She actively tries to make the class the best she can to accommodate students. Replies fast to questions/emails. Exams are very fair. she is awesome!
Dr. Uzelac is the best professor that I have had so far! Her class was great, provides study guides weekly and gives you tons of opportunities to boost your grade. She is amazing!
Good Proff! Her and the TA put so much effort into making this course very engaging and you can tell that she really cared about the students. She provided weekly study guides with practice questions that helped students prepare for the exams. The first part of the course was a little dry but the second part was super interesting (culture)!
Loved her. Cared lots about students and wanted all to succeed.
didnt look at the textbook and just skimmed slides and got a b, so if youre looking for a bare minimum elective this is it. idk if the prof is amazing, she seemed passive aggressive in emails but at the end of the day she made the class easy to learn and was very organized on eclass
Really easy class, participation will literally boost your mark a lot. You must know details from textbook for midterm and final.
The class was asynchronous but very well organized and engaging. Most of the grade comes from the midterm and final. She also gave a whole ten percent for brief participation every week. Her expectations were clear and she is a forgiving marker. Be sure to do the readings, especially for the cultural anthropology section! It will be tested.
Took anthropology not expecting to enjoy it that much but honestly this professor made the class entertaining and had amazing lectures. It was a fully async. class but the prof and TA were both easy to access and had amazing response time. Totally recommend!!
Loved her lectures, she really cares about her students. She might seem strict at first but she's really helpful and dedicated.
Professor Uzelac knows her stuff but this course relied on slides with audio due to COVID. This class was relatively easy and she was a fair marker.
Had Mirjana online. The content itself was fine, but it was 90% Mirjana reading off of her slides. posted slides with audio but that was it, as TAs were in charge of labs, comments, assignments, and grading. This course felt like the bare minimum of effort by the professor accompanied by threats of 'you cant pass with just the slides' (yes you can)
I really enjoyed Anthropology 207 with Professor Mirjana Uzelac! She was super sweet and got me really into anthro. There were a decent amount of readings but I thought they were quite interesting.
Mirjana is one of the most caring and understanding profs I've had during covid-19. She really understands the situation. Like taking into account that someone is not in the same time zone.
Very informative and very applicable today more than ever (learning about racism). There were mandatory readings but they're not too important. Read the lecture slides and comment on the forum, 20% participation. Friday prompts not bad at all, midterm and final was 24h open book written exam (online class). Very enjoyable class. Would recommend!
Absolutely amazing prof, one of the best at UofA. She's really nice and caring for her students and marks very fairly. There's lots of ways to do good in her class; easy participation, weekly prompts and final was not cumulative. Just take some time to go through her lectures and skim readings to get bigger idea and relate those ideas to real life.
I highly recommend taking ANTHR150 with Mirjana. The lectures are super straight forward, the content is interesting, and she is very, very fair with marking. The textbook readings are good if you're struggling with concepts but if you understand the lectures they're not necessary. Even as a spring class it was very relaxed. Take this class!
Lectures are basic but if you're interested in what she's teaching it becomes a very fun class. She's very open to questions and respects her students. Although, again, her teaching is very basic- it's not boring or hard. There are readings for each class but she goes over the basic concepts in class. Marked by two exams, a paper and attendance.
she was monotone and always seemed angry. Lectures were clear, and attendance is mandatory for participation mark. Seems like she knows her stuff. 3 tests and participation, so very test heavy, but tests are fair. Textbook not at all required to do decent, 95% of questions on tests are from lectures.
Professor Uzelac was pretty good! Interesting material, good lectures. The readings were nice and manageable. The seminars included a lot of great discussion and debate. I liked the class
Very boring lectures, essentially just reads whats on the slides and rarely discussed what was in the textbook for readings. midterm and final are very dependent on readings and film watched in class (for the midterm) and is overly specific/detailed and some questions were difficult to understand/made no sense.
I was so excited for Anthropology because I was interested in the field, but Professor Uzelac really made me loose my passion. All of her lectures she read off the powerpoint and gave no new information, but you had to attend her class to get full marks. This made lectures extremely boring and unhelpful, and she never tested on lecture material.
Lectures were very boring, the professor made attendance mandatory just for students to show up and listen to her read off her slides for an 1hr20 min. Her slides were very unorganized and thoughtless, like she threw information on there with no thoughts of organization. She showed up late many times and appeared to have very little passion.
Uzelac's lectures were boring but the material was basically common sense. So many assigned textbooks readings that you don't really have to do. Her exams are 95% her lectures. She's kind of has an attitude outside of class and is not an approachable person. Loved the seminars (i had an amazing TA). Exams were super fair (straight from the notes).
Dr. Uzelac was my fav prof of the sem. Questions for the midterm + final were both directly from slides and mandatory readings, which she provides, so you don't need to buy the textbook! Attendance is mandatory but she gives you four "free days" to skip with no effect to the participation mark. Caring prof, answers emails, passionate! 10/10
I was excited to take this class and I couldn't be more disappointed. Lectures were just Mirjana reading off of slides. Super boring and made it hard to justify showing up since she posts the slides anyway. Attendance is mandatory and 15% of your grade. Tests had a LOT of questions pulled from textbook readings. Not as easy of an A as you may think
Very unorganized lectures, often cut short takes an hour 20 but with the slides she gives it could be done in 20 minutes, needed more content. Lots of readings. Showed up 30 minutes late for the final exam.
Dr. Uzelac was very thorough with her expectations and conveyed all the concepts very well. Tests were very fair; anything that she mentioned in class was fair game and she made this known - there were no surprises on the tests. Short written assignment was an easy A as long as you put in effort - great course and great prof!
I loved the lectures. She grades fairly but you have to go through her lectures and readings. Insists on the history so keep this in mind.
I was told this was an easy A course but I had to work harder than what I expected. There are readings and she allows you to miss some classes but if you miss them, you can't rely on PowerPoint slides.
Taken 2 classes with this prof because shes pretty solid. Good choice for a prof even if she does tend to take a very long time on a short set of slides.
Would take this prof again for sure.
I took this as an elective and I wasn't disappointed. She looks stricter than she really is! Just don't talk during class, this is disturbing to everyone, she had to tell people to stop talking several times. Tests were straightforward, attendance is mandatory but you have 5 free absences plus as many as you need when you are ill. Pretty solid.
She really wants her students to pass. There were three quizzes in total, with the final including extra credit questions. Mandatory attendance but you get five free absences. A fair grader.
This was such an enjoyable class. Two lectures and a seminar per week. Attendance mandatory for lectures, so you only need to show up for a seminar. She posts slides online so you know what the lecture was about. Slides are not always enough to do well but are definitely enough for a pass. One super easy written assignment. Recommended class.
Lectures and seminars, I liked that lecture attendance is not mandatory. Most of the test material is directly from the lectures. A fair grader.
15% of our grade came from attendance, and the rest came from three exams, where each question was worth 1% of the final grade. Dr. Uzelac made sure to give a few opportunities for extra points which was appreciated. Make sure to read the textbook, especially for the last exam, as lots of questions stem from there.
Dr. Uzelac is a pretty average prof overall. Lectures were pretty dry (just powerpoint slides), but she gave an extra 15% to those who skipped no more than 5 lectures throughout the semester. We had 2 midterms and a final, for which I simply memorized her slides and got a B+. If you want an A, memorization of the textbook is needed. Decent overall
She tried her best to engage everyone in discussion every class, and was really helpful anytime you had questions or concerns. This course is pretty straightforward and easy, and her exams are the same way.
Shes a super fair and kind marker, and you are only tested on the last unit for the final. There are textbook readings for every class, but if you dont read them you can still do well. She reads off of her slideshows, but she also adds some additional information alongside it. Show up to classes if you want additional marks for attendance.
Read the reviews thinking she was good but is super mid, has 0 original thought/input and just reads from the slides. Participation 20%, Midterm and Final 40% and all the content is on the mandatory reading, not anything from the slides. No clear exam breakdown, comes to class with messy hair and oversized hoodie (thought she was a student).
Such a sweet and caring person. Let us give feedback after our midterm since the average was lower than anticipated, due to partial online classes. Also let us do an extra credit assignment to bump our grades. Lots of reading. Lectures are important to go to. Alternative ways for participation for those who aren't comfortable speaking in class.
Great elective class, go to lectures as I found that some of the questions related to the extra notes that she would include in person. Just memorize the lectures and you're promised a decent grade. Some (very few) of the questions from the midterms did come from the textbook though. Attendance is mandatory as it counts towards 15% of your grade.
I did not like this class at all. It is not her as a person, but the exams were ridiculous. I would study for days for the exam just to get subpar grades due to vague and unclear test questions. I tried to talk to her about the exam questions and all I got was "No thats the wrong answer".
Nice class and professor, but you need to pay attention to what she says in class. She tests mostly from lectures but not everything is on the slides, she says many additional things and tests from that. They are not difficult if you are paying attention though. I found the class easy and she basically hints at what to pay attention to.
SHE IS AMAZING. Attendance is mandatory but all worth it. You can tell how passionate and caring she is. Wants her students to succeed and do the best. Exams are straight forward and easy if you attend her lectures. Nothing is out of the blue. Readings aren't really mandatory if you attend lectures. She'll even give you opportunities to do better.
She is such a fantastic professor! Lectures weren't too bad - but you have to go to them. She remarked our midterms and gave us a bonus assignment to help us boost our grades. She cares about her students and her class which made it fun to go to For someone teaching a class on race/racism she said nothing remotely racist unlike other profs I've had
She is amazing. I am trying to take every class with her. I am not an anthropology major or minor and understood the course content. There is writing for everything due to no exams. Got to write whatever we wanted for the final as long as you can tie it in with course content.
She was amazing, the class content was really interesting and it is so easy to do well in her course as long as you try. I would def recommend this class and prof to anyone thats looking for a gpa booster, take it before its too late and they make the grading scheme rough like soc 100
Professor Uzelac genuinely cares for each of her students and wants them all to succeed. The information is straight forward and she tells you exactly what to focus on for the exams. The paper is also relatively easy as long as you follow the outlines. Easy marker and is easy to do good on exams as long as you study lecture notes and readings!
Mirjana is an incredibly easy marker + her tests are super easy if you've done the readings and were conscious during class. She does mark participation + attendance, but you can miss 5 classes w/ no penalty. She's kind and genuinely wants every student to do well. Her tests sometimes have grammar mistakes that can make them harder to understand.
Loved Dr. Uzelac! She cares about her students, she wants you to succeed. She is fair, passionate, and knowledgeable. It's a fairly easy class, but was still really interesting and I definitely learned a lot. You have to do the readings and attend lectures bc not everything is on the slides. Would take a class with her again anytime.
Absolutely amazing class and amazing prof. She encourages classroom discussions and involvement and deals with sensitive topics very well. Her assignments (prompts) are also super easy grade boosters. I 100% recommend this course and this prof.
She was amazing! She was always open to converse on the given topic and listen to anyone who had insight on the matter. Her lectures were interesting and she had the perfect balance of work and learning. She has definitely inspired me to take many more anthropology classes in the future!
Not a science major, I did well. If you show up to class you'll pass with at least an A. I have taken now 5 classes with her cuz she is one of my fav profs at uni! 5/5
Mirjana class was super interesting and I enjoyed it. She seemed to care about her students and was really good with helping problem solve grades/questions. My only complaint is that her tests questions were SUPER general and getting the right answer was a total guess. I enjoyed the class but if you are looking for a GPA boost maybe look elsewhere.
Good prof, pretty easy class, she posts all her slides online but going to class to hear how she expands on it is helpful, do your readings because they will be on the tests which are pretty straight forward if you pay attention.
Participation (came to class each class was 0.5 out of 10) so you can skip some. I took this class and studied with quizlet. I've taken her classes in the past because she is a good prof and tests on stuff that she talks about. If you show up it's worth it. There was prompts which was extra bonus points she said cuz if you do it it's 5/5. TAKE HER
LOVE HER. Easy GPA Booster. Did presentation, participation, 1 midterm (got questions before hand to prepare answers), and a final paper. I am in arts and knew nothing about science. If you attend class to write lecture notes you'll do great. the paper was about "show me what you learned in class about the Enlightenment." TAKE HER!!!!!
Mirjana was a fantastic professor. I did her ANTHR207 online class. You're graded off participation which is an easy 20%, a very light and straightforward paper, and a midterm and a final exam, which is NON-CUMMULATIVE! Anthropology was also such an exciting topic to learn about.
Mirjana was a fantastic professor. I was in her ANTHR207 online class this Spring. You're graded off participation which is an easy 20%, a very light, straightforward paper that will take you an hour maximum to write, and a midterm and a final exam, which is NON-CUMMULATIVE! She also gives out study guides and tells you exactly what's on the test.
Literally the best prof ever, she was very clear on her course. She taught everything that was on exams and they were very easy. Plus she marking writing assignments extremely easy, pretty much show up and you are guaranteed a B+
This professor is not the best. I was a bit confused about a thing she said, I asked a question and she was a bit rude at the way she looked at me and I felt really uncomfortable. She is not clear on her topics. Please think of a different course, This was the most confusing class I have done
This class was a breath of fresh air this semester. Tests were straight forward and super easy. Final was non cumulative and she told us what the written bonus question was prior to the test. Just going over her slides is enough to do well in this course. You do want to attend classes as attendance is a decent chunk of the grade (20%)
Great prof. Don't even bother with the readings, she's discussing them in class enough. 1 midterm, pretty easy. You pick your final paper topic. She does mark for participation but you can do it on poll
Extremely knowledgeable about different genders and sexes, being from a different culture herself (I think Croatian?) she offered personal perspective and has the skill of explaining cultures to people of a different culture down. Classes were slides based (shared with us) and had many small in class assignments which was a grade booster.
I will move mountains to be in Mirjana's classes. I have never been able to learn so well from a prof. Every class I've had with her I've got either an A-, A, or A+. She doesn't do many assignments sometimes none at all just exams. Pay attention to lectures, exams not tricky and mostly m.c. Not scared to take any class w/ her, you WILL do good.
This is the course that made me want to take every course that exists with Mirjana. So straightforward, not confusing at all, she teaches exactly what will be on the exams. Exams are not tricky questions, if you've been doing the short readings she assigns and go to class you will do so good with this prof. Grade booster every single time. the best
Always do amazing in her classes. Says exactly what will be on exams, non cumulative, tells you what bonus question will be on final exam, so easy to understand her lectures and topics the first time you hear it. ALL her courses EASY she is so good. Seminar participation grade for this course, sem easy. do readings for sem, but dont HAVE to for lec
This class is harder to do from the standpoint of an arts degree; most of the class material and assignments are very science-focused, even though it's a class that's supposed to be a blend. Don't even bother with the readings. Tests and assignments are easy, but participation is unreasonably wacky. Prof is impossible to reach thru email.
A great prof. Really cares about her students and explains the material well. The subject matter is super interesting.
Love this prof. She cares about the subject matter and approaches even the heavy topics in a respectful way, like gender identity, trans inclusiveness, indigenous issues and all the others. The lectures often focus a lot on participation but you don't have to speak in class, you can type in your answer and it counts equally.
Professor Uzelac is a fantastic professor. Advocates for your work and ensures that your grade is fair. This is the second time I have taken a class with Professor Uzelac and have been just as immersed the content as I was the first time I took a class with her. Extremely caring and approaches topics with tact. Note participation matters!!
Dr Uzelac is awesome!!! Nothing had to say about her, she is caring and has enjoyable lectures. She's very clear with her expectations and wants students to succeed. 10/10 recommend her class for an elective/grade booster
I LOVED this class! Very interesting topics that were approached in analytical but respectful ways. Dr. Uzelac was the chillest professor ever but knew her content and cared about our understanding as a class. Not that many assignments and a midterm that was very simple and reflected her lectures.
Was this class easy? Very. Was it enjoyable? I found the material way too surface-level to be interesting, and lectures were very dry. People like it because it's a straightforward class, but I still left feeling like it was a bit of a waste of time. Take if you need a GPA booster, but not if you are looking for something engaging.
Mirjana's ANTHR110 class was a highlight this semester. With straightforward exams and engaging lectures, the course was a real learning experience. Alongside textbook readings, resources like Unstuckstudy helped solidify the material - definitely a GPA booster!
Pretty good prof. Her lectures are good when she shows up, lots of no show classes though where the TA would end up talking about random things that were irrelevant to the class instead of just cancelling the class. Prompts are worth 25% of your grade and they are easy. Attendance is taken every class, sometimes 2x to catch ppl who leave early.
She is nice and her lectures are very useful. The study guides r really useful and practice tests questions basically show up on the exams. Very easy grader. Exams are multiple choice and contain bonus questions! There are participation marks by epoll, so show up to class!
I really liked this class. You have to particapte 15 times during the semester (less than every class) but you don't have to speak out loud (can use Epoll). Exam was super easy too and we were given the possible questions beforehand.
professor uzelac was great! anthr 150 was quite easy and the prompts were super easy and rated heavy which really helped alleviate the weighting of the final and midterm. straight forward and interesting, great elective to take!
I wish I could say more about how incredible Mirjana. She is everything you hope for in a prof. After being in her class for a week I enrolled into a future class with her! Seriously I will MISS going to her lectures and seeing her! I couldn't recommend a professor more! Keep doing you Dr. Uzelac!
Prof was super accessible even though it was summer term. Didn't do any readings. The lectures were informative and easy to follow, and the quizzes were open book. Midterm and final were written (short essays, few paragraphs per Q), plus a weekly discussion post, but if you understand the material they aren't hard at all. Worth taking!
had her. tbh, she is okay proff. its not like she is the worst proff, but aint the best either for a COURSE like this(SHOUDL BE EASY) tho cuz lokey a tuff grader on the mid and final but easy on assignemnts. the assigments came in clutch and gave me an A. SO MAKE SURE TO GET A 100 on them!!!
She was an easy grader and everything in the tests were in the slideshows, and very few questions on the readings. I just had problems with her because her class had mandatory attendance but she did not show up for a few classes and instead her TA would teach the class on a different topic instead.
Great prof, amazing lectures. Come to class, and you will get that A+. Also, great class to challenge your thinking
if you show up, it's an easy A. marks are just 5 small writing assignments and 30 question MC midterm/final, and she marks super easy. very kind prof, would 100% take again and again.
An easy gpa booster class, if you a paid a bit attention during her lectures you could easily get a B+ or higher, grade was divided up to 5 assignments (25%) Attendance and participation (15%) and midterm and final being 30% each. She does no show quite a bit, happened 4 or 5 times this semester which was frustrating, but really easy class
She was not too bad, tests/prompts are straightforward and she gives opportunities for anyone who wants to get bonus marks which is great. Only issue is attendance is mandatory and sometimes she didn't show up with no announcement or tells us 30 mins before. It being an early morning class made it more difficult when class was cancelled
Don't be scared of the tags; they're the easiest part of the course. She gives simple and easy one-page prompts connecting different sources to the course and uses epoll for attendance/participation, which really boosts your grade (together they're worth 40%). Exams are easy, and she even has questions that are common sense to give you a free 1%+.
She's great! If you find the material interesting and you're engaged you should do great. The lectures can be long (TR) but they're all interesting topics so it's not hard to stay engaged in class. Make sure you attend lectures because there's attendance and participation marks worth 15%, also her lectures that aren't on the slides are important!!!
great professor, she's nice and this class was fairly easy. she talks beyond the slides in class and says notable things that help you better understand the lecture. notes are very straightforward and are relevant to test material. if you show up to class and listen to her lectures you will have an easy time.
If you attend (as 90% of the attendance is mandatory) and complete the assignments, you'll receive a good grade. Super straightforward tests and assignments, and lectures are easy to follow along with. Good GPA booster.
I liked her as a prof, but attending class is important because she says a lot more than whats on the notes. Engages with the class, marks pretty easy. This was a "common-sense" kind of class tbh, a good gpa booster. Only thing is the recorded lectures she posted never worked. The TA sucked, no-showed and did not provide notice in a timely manner.
The class was pretty straight-forward. It is very easy to succeed as long as you go to class and get the participation marks. There are quite a few assignments, but she marks super easily, as long as you follow the directions. My only issue was that the lectures were pretty boring and repetitive, but it does change the way you think.
Easy class/grading especially participation and prompt marks. Cancelled many classes last minute or didn't show up. The class did seem politically charged at times. However, I didn't do any readings and got an A-. Some of the questions on the final exam were challenging, but managable. Overall, frustrating at times, but fair class to boost GPA
