One of the best professors. He is funny, outgoing, and extremely knowledgeable on the topic. This man is a genius. He has a small Yugoslavian accent, but you can understand him fine. 3 tests worth 50 each (150). Lowest C is curved down to a 50%. That helps a lot. Anyone who complains about this teacher is probably just lazy or did bad. Recommended!

This prof. sucks!! Do not take him at any means. When you go to class you write about 5 pages front and back of notes. You have 3 tests the whole year and each test is worth 50 points and at the end it's a total of 150 points, so it's like every test is a final exam because they just add up. WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T TAKE THIS PROF.

i dont recommend this professor. he is hard to understand (accent and soft spoken). the tests have hardly anything from the notes (its pointless going to class) so read the book. some of the tests are 13 chapters! try another professor because the material of the class itself isn't hard.

Whoever says this class is hard was obviously not paying attention. His exams are straight from the notes. You must ALWAYS attend class so you don't miss anything [PowerPoints not online]. Yes, its a lot of notes, but they help tremendously. And no, not the nicest guy in the world...but who cares. Easy A.

You're going to hear a lot of teacher, but he's not that bad. If you study the notes he gives (powerpoints), you'll pass the tests. His tests cover way too many chapters (last one covered 13 chapters), but it's do-able. Just make sure you know the notes well and you WILL pass. It's NOT impossible. Trust me. He's not THAT bad. :) I have an A so far

This class is not a difficult class whatsoever, but you have to attend the lectures and study study study for the tests. Best microbio prof. EVERY SINGLE THING ON THE TEST IS FROM THE NOTES. I typed (he talks fast) everything from his ppt and by the second test I did not even need to look at the book. Reading the notes ONCE will suffice for an A on the test, and that is without the curve. Anyone who says otherwise obviously doesn't know how to read a page of notes.

This is a fantastic professor to take if you have received A's in 10 HARD science courses prior to this "Intro to Microbio" joke of a course and are ready to get yourself a C when you deserve an A. I studied as hard for his exams as I did for any non-intro course and yet I received C's and D's on his. Astounding. TAKE IT WITH A DIFFERENT PROFESSOR.

His lectures are the same as his powerpoints so there is no point in going to class but he gives extra credit points for it. He also gives extra credit for PTLT and for an in-class presentation. If you do all of that it is very hard for you to not pass the class. Do study a lot for his test, but most of it is i-clickers and quiz questions

Easy A if you are good at memorization. There is a lot of material to cover for each exam but just review the outlines he gives overtime and you'll be fine. I-clickers are a majority of the exam. He offers a TON of extra credit, im really confused on why his reviews are so bad lol. just study!

Overall, okay class. Just need to focus on the lecture notes and the iclickers which are going to be in the majority of the test.

Overall, I was very scared to take this class seeing as many people seem to fail because they think it is hard. It is NOT an easy class where you show up and you pass; YOU HAVE TO WORK FOR YOUR A. Focus on quiz questions and I clickers because they will be on the test. Take all extra credit chances bc you will for sure pass.

Professor Gantar is the king of extra credit, you can get a maximum of 13 extra credit points on your final grade if you do PLTL, the presentation, and miss less than 3 classes!!!!! His tests are literally majority I-clicker, quiz questions, and global learning questions. I have no idea why he has such low ratings. The class is not difficult.

I took him during my 1st semester of college and used to think he was boring. But now that I've experienced more professors, I value that he was very clear on what exams would contain, having his lectures in class lets you ask questions right away, and the extra credit was great. Definitely appreciate him more now compared to other classes

His class is very doable and he gives a lot of extra credit. However, his class is boring and his voice is very monotone, which makes you have to teach yourself mostly everything. No in-class quizzes, they're all online, and three noncumulative tests that cover 8 chapters each.

Hes a good professor who knows what hes talking about. If you want to learn and pay attention, taming him is a good choice. Grade is based off 3 exams. Although he does provide a lot of extra credit, including a optional PowerPoint, and I-clicker questions which count for attendance points, but this is not graded rather an extra credit option.

This professor just reads off of power points and does not teach. The whole test is just on the power points, so if you study them, youll pass them. There are only 3 exams and weekly homework quizzes that are on Quizlet. If you want to learn, might as well teach yourself because thats what youre going to have to do anyways.
