I took him for CIS 22A , his class is easy but he put tricky questions for you to really learn the material. He gives extra credit so go to class ,study and dont worry.

You can learn coding with the lots of coding practice in class.

This professor really takes a lot of effort to teach his students and he sincerely wants the students to learn. His assignments are not that easy, but that is the best because you can actually learn things in his class. He is very sincere and teaches well, also you have to code a lot which eventually helps with your knowledge.

I took Introduction to Programming in Python course with him and I'm really happy about. I loved his teaching style. He gave us a lot of sample questions which helped me a lot to learn Python in details. His assignments and quizzes were really well-designed to learn coding. This professor is one of the best on campus. Lectures can get a bit boring, but they are really helpful. He is a very lenient grader and gives a lot of feedback when asked. He also gives a lot of extra credit, so his class is an easy A+. His assignments are very helpful and prepare you for the quizzes,midterms, and finals. He is a great professor.

Easiest A ever. Never really showed up and passed with over 100%. Gives out extra credit left and right so you don't have to worry about grades. I'm so happy that I got started to learn coding with him. His method is to teach coding practically and covers all fundamental parts of programming that you may need in the future. He is so caring whenever you have a question or a problem. I didn't feel any pressure or workload in his class. You'll learn and enjoy programming.

Take Professor Mirsaeid! Very straightforward and easygoing class, you learn a lot and can easily get a good grade. He allows you to retake two of your lowest quiz scores and provides extra credit for almost every assignment. I had no programming experience before taking this class, but I still did well and learned a ton!

An amazing professor who knows what he's teaching and is accessible during office hours. He explains the contents of his lectures really well and the weekly quizzes are based off sample questions posted in the previous week. There are assignments after every chapter but the workload is manageable.

This is easily the best professor at De Anza, he wants you to succeed. Some professors are just a tough grader and won't even clarify the curriculum. He makes his points very clear and if you stay on top of your classwork, you can pass this course. I am taking another course with him, and he is absolutely the best.

Academically and technically, he's one of the most professional professors that I had. I had CIS-22C(Data Structure) & CIS-40 (Python) with him and just transferred to UC Berkeley. His teaching style and level are even better than our university professors. I learned a lot from his classes and also using his teaching style as a TA at UC Berkeley.

Best 22c teacher at De Anza, Mr. Abolghasemi teaches really well and I enjoy very moment in his class. He also gives out a lot of extra credit when you submit an assignment early and gives real life tips on how interviews work when working with tech companies.

From all the cs classes Ive taken he is by far the easiest cs class. My 22B class which was relatively easy was harder than this class. I ended this class with a 140% after the final because I did all the extra credit assignments. If u want a free A this is the class. Hes very nice but for most assignments ur on ur own so good luck.

I highly recommend him. He's so nice and caring. When I asked him for a Zoom meeting to help me, he answered me immediately and helped me to fix my problems. The assignments and projects are doable and you can do the in a team which helped to learn more from the professor and also from my team. He mentored us to write a professional program.

He is definitely a gem in CS department in De Anza College. Unlike most CS professors in De Anza he does his best teaching every subject and make sure students understand them. Workload in his class is totally manageable and he offers lots of extra credit as well. Take him you wont regret.

Abolghasemi is simply the best of all worlds. His class can be an easy A even if you only want to put in the bare minimum effort and do all assignments through self-studying, but if you are a beginner or you want to learn in-depth, he is also available to set up 1:1 meetings and is very eager to help. Personally I wanted an easy A+ and got it.

Take him for 22C the other profs r bad. Yes, he teaches in Java but if you have 1 braincell you will be fine. I took 22A and 22B (had 0 experience with Java) and managed an A+. Find some people in the class, or friends, to do your group projects or you're screwed. Read the book cus his lectures are useless.

I'm transferring to Berkeley this year. His teaching style is awesome. There's no pressure in his class and I learned a lot. He encouraged us to do assignments and projects. He is just so nice, and a very caring professor. He really just wants everyone to be able to learn Python, regardless of their experience level, background. Very helpful 1:1 and not-judging when you struggle with something. He does tend to call people out by name during class if you mess up on a pop quiz though. But a really amazing professor.

This course covers a lot of topics but the professor provides enough materials (the presentations, articles from the textbook) for studying, and quizzes, labs, assignments for checking your knowledge. I simply want to pay him a compliment. I have started to apply and interview for internships, & I have realized that his class prepared me competently. One interview I had was just like one of his tests with extremely similar questions. I remember how he would always explain to us why topics were so important and what to understand for interviews.

One part is the group project and presentation. He gave everyone full grade and extra credit. A small number of students complain because they don't want to present.

I took Professor Mirsaeid's CIS 35A and CIS 22C, I got A+ for both courses. He cares about student success. Quizzes and exams were not hard and basically from the study guide if you take some time on it you should be fine. He really wants you to focus on practice so there are many of extra credit opportunities, 100% recommended.

If you want to learn, there will be many extra credit project that you can work on for extra grade and investigate deeper in data structure. Test is very straight forward, as long as you know material well. Lectures based on slide that is also good for future reference.

Professor Abolghasemi runs this class very well. He explains concepts clearly and goes through examples step by step. The homework exercises and labs can take some time, but most of the code for them can be found in the textbook. He gives a ton of extra credit and is a really nice guy. One of the best cs profs at De Anza. Caring & knowledgeable. The class is easy if you put in some effort. Make sure you find a good group to work with for mid and final projects. Tests are based on test banks. Tons of EC chances. But beware that this class is fairly easy so it may not prepare you well for advanced data structures.

Assignments are quite doable. Tests and quizzes count but are not too hard. Lectures are great. He takes the time to dive deep into every topic. He's accessible outside class. He offers extra credit a lot.

This professor actually cares about his students' grades and is willing to drop quiz scores and give out extra credit to help. Very lenient, but his summer class moves very quickly near the end so be careful not to fall back too much, or your grade will suffer.

The labs are so challenging but we did them in a group, he was supportive and gave us a roadmap on how to do them. The professor helped us to bring up our grades with extra credit but it is 100% up to you if you want to get a good grade you have to study a lot.

Great teacher, really breaks it down the basics of what you need to know. Exams are proctorio & multiple choice, gives test bank questions and those will the key to passing his class, will change wording around to make sure you understand not memorize. TEACHES IN JAVA I was only familiar with C++ before, at first there is a learning curve.

As a beginner of programming, Professor Mirsaeid's lecture is easy to understand and following. He would assign people into different groups, and let students help each other on projects. He's also caring and nice. Provided a lot of extra credits and I got an A+! He also teach skills for preparing tech company's interview.

I've taken both CIS22C Data Abstraction & Structures (in Java) and CIS35A Java Programming online with Prof. Abolghasemi without prior Java experience and really enjoyed them! He is very thorough and organized, everything you need is on Canvas. He is easy to reach thru email if you have questions. Overall a great experience in his classes.

All the materials were well-organized and in order based on the chapters in the textbook. I had an asynchronous class with him that needed more self-learning attempts. The best part of the class was working in a team on all assignments.

The class is setup to allow all students to get an A. Many homework problems are just duplicating code shown in lecture and exams are based on pre-given test banks where the answers can be found be watching the lectures. Midterm projects and the final project were very fair.

He is an excellent and great professor. I am glad I was his student and learned a lot.

He is definitely a good professor. No too much homework, and you can learn a lot if you spend time on extra credit. We have a presentation for the midterm and final, and you can check your knowledge and you understand what you write.

This professor was great! I took his python programming class and it really helped me understand the concepts in python. I took the class asynchronously, but it was easy to follow and the textbook and recorded lectures helped. My tip for this class would be to always do the sample questions for each chapter.

He is so nice and caring. When I had a question he was always ready to help me. I am going to take another class with him.

He is very approachable and treats his students with the utmost respect. He is most easily reached by email. To get an A, you have to put in a lot of effort, and he gives extra credit for the points you lost. The professor also prepares you well for interviews and encourages you to apply for internships. He is one of the best professors I've had.

He is super nice and always respects his students. I learned a lot in his class and was his TA for one year. I transferred to UC Berkeley last year and still he helps me whenever I have any questions.

I took 41A last quarter, and currently taking 22C. I enjoyed both classes very much and hope to take more classes in the future. He includes a variety of tasks to reinforce concepts - lectures, office hours, homework/labs/quizzes, class discussions, and research projects - all of these combine to really help us understand the materials thoroughly.

I have truly enjoyed having him as my professor for the data structures course. His teachings have been invaluable in my understanding of the subject and have made it one of the most interesting courses I have taken. His enthusiasm for the topic is evident, and it has made the material not only easier to understand, but also enjoyable to learn.

Abol is an excellent teacher. Don't be shy, if you have any questions, find her soon. She will help you in time. I even got my letter of recommendation from her very quickly. In addition, Abol's CIS 22C is a beneficial course, and I learned a lot of skills from it.

What needs to be corrected is that this is an excellent male teacher. He is very humorous and funny. I love him so much.

The quizzes have the highest weight, try to practice the sample questions. Working in a team to do the assignments and the projects helped me a lot to learn. He is so nice and understands how to help his students.

Java, but lets you use C++ or Py. Java code for exercises is on the slides, just copy and submit. Labs require you to do work. 3 big quizzes are proctored, and most questions are from his test banks. Midterm/Final are a project+exam (Takes most Qs from quizzes). Up to 5% of the grade in extra credit. Easy A if you study test banks and do the code.

I had the pleasure of taking a Python class with him. He has a passion for teaching and is genuinely invested in his students' success. He is always available to answer questions and incredibly supports his students. I learned so much from him and would take another class with him in a heartbeat.

The professor is very nice and gives helpful feedback to his students. He encourages us to participate in group projects, which was immensely beneficial for me. Additionally, he gives sample questions to help us to be prepared for exams, which made me feel more comfortable taking the quizzes because I already knew what kind of questions to expect.

very nice and helpful. sample questions are provided so you can study them before taking quizzes/tests, and you basically rewrite lab exercises where you implement something you learned from a chapter each time you rewrite it, which helped me a lot. extra credit is offered and you can work with a team for assignments. he also dropped 2 quizzes

Easy B class! Homework was easy and projects weren't so bad either. Quizzes and exams need to be recorded (cam + screen recording) but are mcq and are based entirely off sample questions provided. If you watch lectures and study supplemental questions, it's definitely an easy A.

I feel like I could've gotten an A if I spent more time on this course, but overall Professor Abolghasemi is really chill even tho it was my 1st time taking java so thats why it was difficult and because he didnt have live lectures. If you do the work however, as well as some good self studying, u will surely get an A.

I took his Fall 2023 class and he made it fun to learn Python. Canvas was well-organized, he gave helpful feedback during office hours (once a week only :( ), and he gave good reviewers that are very similar, if not exactly like, the exams. Programming project was manageable and he answered my emails quick. Only con is slides are vague.

The course covered many complex concepts, but the professor explained them concisely and clearly. In addition, the professor offered some extra honors, which were both fun and challenging. If you are a student in computer-related fields, this is a course you don't want to miss.

I learned a lot from this class. The exercises are really helpful, and you can access materials and recordings to understand better. The professor is very accessible and ready to help at any time. I would definitely take it again, he gives us a lot of extra credits. So, just go for it and put in the effort, you will get a good grade!!!

He's great. Replies quickly. Rounded by up to 1%. Offers 5% EC, and EC on final project. Gave 100% to almost everyone on every lab. Gives (long) quiz banks (I recommend studying them). Midterm and final easy if you did well on quizzes. Ended with a 105% in the class. Weirdly, he requires camera recording during quizzes and exams.

One of the best professors in the CIS department. He is very caring and supportive throughout the whole quarter. He really wants you to succeed and makes himself accessible at all times. The material is taught in a very concise manner and all of the assignments are designed to not be overly complex but just enough to make you think. Great professor

This professor has an understanding and likeable personality. This class is graded heavily on quizzes and not so much on assignments, so if quizzes don't suit your learning style then take a different professor.

Test questions were not all weighted the same, with the more difficult (and, rarely, subjective) ones worth more points. Fortunately, he offers 5% easy EC to counteract this. Study all sample questions for quizzes and previous quizzes for tests. It was a lot for a summer term, even knowing some basic Java. Don't expect any feedback on assignments.

Professor Abolghasemi is always available for questions and provided detailed feedback on assignments and projects. The course itself was challenging but rewarding. The assignments and projects were thoughtfully designed to reinforce the concepts covered in lectures and to encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Professor Abolghasemi's CIS22C class was one of the most impactful I've taken. He explains concepts clearly, and supports his students. I think all the concepts are clear as long as you can go through the material and understand it.His teaching gave me a solid foundation in data structures. Best Professor ever! Highly recommend his class!

Professor A. is one of the best professors in the CIS department. I took his 41A & 22C courses, & both were very well organized. He responds quickly & provides practice questions that are long but extremely helpful. His projects are relevant to the coursework, gradually increase in difficulty, & provide a nice challenge to reinforce key concepts.

Great prof.

He always makes an effort to check in and help if you're struggling and responds very fast. His grading is very test heavy, and you have to record yourself and screen while taking the test. Do the extra credit labs/participation! You can get up to 5% EC, which helped me a lot. He also bumps your grade up to the next letter grade if you're 1% away.

A great teacher willing to help both in and out of class. As long as you read the textboook, do the homework, and show up for quizzes, you are guranteed to succeed and learn.

I took 22C and 35A, and I really appreciated how structured and easy-to-follow his lectures were. He provides extra credit, which can boost your grade, and offers practice questions for quizzes, which makes it easier to prepare for midterms and finals. I really love professor Mirsaeid! Not only does he care about his students, but he would also love to help his students write a recommendation letter too! I took him during the summer; it was one of the best decisions! Although it was only 6 weeks, the workload was not heavy, and his exams are straightforward!

It was pretty hard. I consider his class very hard only because there are these long practice test banks that take FOREVERRR to study. Tests are easy because it is word for word with the test bank, but IT TAKES FR**kinFOREVER to do the practice test. Not efficent for learning pick a prof that uses zybooks instead, his lectures long and boring. mid

I really enjoyed his CIS 41A. The class was well-organized, and he explained things in a way that made Python way easier to understand. The assignments were engaging but super helpful for building my coding skills. Huge thanks to him for being such a great teacher and always being supportive.

Overall easy class. Class consists of weekly quizzes which you have to Zoom and screen record. He offers up to 5% EC (q&a discussion board and assignments) + round your final grade by 1%. Midterm and final you have 1 exam and 1 project that you can work on individually or as a group. Canvas is a bit unorganized and some assignments are confusing.
